I've been buying and using rechargeable above ground pool vacuums for the past 5 years. I bought the Dolphin E10 about a month ago and realized I should have bought it sooner. I didn't want to spend the money but it's well worth it. It's absolutely wonderful! I pride myself on keeping my pool clean but since using the Dolphin E10, my pool has been absolutely crystal clean. You would assume that an "Intex branded" pool vacuum would fit an Intex above ground pool, but somewhere along the line Intex changed the fitting threads on the pool return fitting and they are NOT compatible. I had to return it as it was useless. Intex should have kept everything the same instead of changing only one side's threading without changing the fitting on the pool. Terrible business decision on Intex's part. If you bought an Intex pool after Jan 2021, this vacuum will NOT fit guaranteed. If the pool was purchased pre '21 you are just rolling the dice. INTEX should either sell the appropriate fitting for the pool individually, change the fitting back to the original on the vacuum, or recall all of these vacuums. I read several reviews before purchasing but foolishly assumed Intex would have fixed the problem in 2021.Anthony C.

This took some time to figure out how to get it to work best (adjusting the float for tubing and getting it hooked up just right). Once I had it right it went to work around the pool. I had to help it along once, but otherwise it covered the pool pretty well. The pool was pretty clean: just a little sand remaining in the bottom. I used it on a 13' above ground pool, so this may have been overkill for the small size of our pool, but it's a pretty cool gadget anyway. Yes, it absolutely cleans the bottom of our 15 x 35 oval above ground pool but it misses a lot of places and needs to be directed one way of another to get the entire bottom. Also, if you have stairs that are at all at an angle it will get stuck behind them over and over again. I solved the stair problem by placing a 5 gallon bucket with a couple large rocks to hold it in place under the stairs. The bucket stops the vacuum from going under the stairs. They sell a larger pool guard for around $35 but this thing is already expensive enough. I would hope they's consider just including the larger pool guard instead of the small one. I think I would try another brand with a larger stair guard before buying this one again.Poppa
Let start saying I am optimistic about anything that would make my life easier. I really want to love this cleaner because I spent months to convince my husband we need one very bad, because it will be cold soon here in north Florida and we will not winterize the pool because my Labrador needs to exercise and she loves to swim. That said, the rest was a fiasco, the thing stay put in the same place not moving, there was parts missing (one of the hoses) and the basket for catching the leaves need to be removed for this thing to work, what makes job very hard when you need to remove the leaves from the pump itself instead the pre-basket. My husband try to move it to another location and it get stuck in the ladder. Move again, same spot, no moving. I told him maybe he did not give time enough to let the cleaner do his thing, but no, does not matter how long you will leave the thing running, it will not get the job done. We have a 24 feet above ground metal wall and it is time consuming to clean it, but my husband get the job done way faster because this thing get nothing done. This item received mixed reviews, but there were more good than bad, so I decided to take a chance. Bad decision. I have a 33' above ground pool. I knew that this only came with 30' of hose, but I figured I would try it out, and if it worked I would buy the extra hose. I received it today, put it together as the pictures showed (I hate instructions with pictures and almost no text), and got it working in the pool. I stood there and watched as it puttered along, in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. I tried adjusting the FlowKeeper Valve on all 3 settings, with the same results. I had both of my water jets directed down to the pool floor, as directed, and it kept going in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. It won't even deviate to clean any part of the inside of the circle, just the circumference. With taxes I paid just over $157 for this vacuum to be able to automatically clean just under 63 linear feet. That works out to be about $2.50/ft, over, and over, and over again. You can take your chances if you like, but I wouldn't recommend it.I added one star to my original review because I was able to return it for a refund with no problems. After reading other reviews I got the impression that this was not returnable, but that is not the case.Brian

We have an an above ground pool. The small vacuum that came with it broke and parts are, of course, back ordered. We saw this ad and after reviewing the return policy in case we didn't like it, ordered it. From the minute we saw it we were pretty excited but when we finished the first charge and used it we totally FELL IN LOVE with this product, especially the large capacity. It is so easy to use and picks up basically everything. Our pool had considerable algae from not having a vacuum for a couple of weeks but after 2 or 3 uses this picked up 95%! I got this because I thought "there has to be a better way" since we just brush every couple of days. We have an in ground pool, a weekly cleaning with this keeps the bottom clear. The little vacuum robot you leave in the pool just never worked properly for us- it always got stuck in one corner. This vacuum is amazing and keeps the pool clean! This item does only last about 30 minutes, which is why I knocked off a star. It also needs to get cleaned (the filter) frequently during use, which gets less frequent if you're consistent with vacuuming (less to clean up). I have a 22x 7 inground pool, This vacuum can clean the entire pool in a matter of minutes. I was shocked at how useful this product is and how well it is designed. It comes with plastic poles but I used my skimmer aluminum pole which attached directly to this Pool Blaster. The battery lasts pretty long between charges. The filter element catches sand leaves and dirt. The unit comes apart for easy cleaning. I am impressed so far. I have used it several times now and it has accomplished what i need it to do. It does not replace a vac that scrubs or one that is robotic, however for general cleaning of quick spot cleaning this thing is worth every penny. Th only thing I wish it had was a hook to hang it. The Intex 28620EP is perfect for removing small particles from the floor of our outdoor spa. Since it has NiMH batteries instead of Lithium, it is priced lower and it has enough suction to pick up the debris in its path. It comes with a regular filter and two sock-like bags for capturing very fine particles. It also comes with an extendable pole which lets me reach everywhere in the spa, and it comes with two head attachments for moving around different terrain and angles. It does not come with a charging source, just a USB type cable to connect to a phone or other charging block. Charging takes 6 – 8 hours, and run time is reportedly only about 20 minutes, but that's long enough: I've used it 3 times so far but I'm done in about 10 minutes so it's never run out of power too soon. You do need to move it slowly so as not to stir up the debris, and the power comes on only when it has been submerged and the power switch is on. It is very quiet so you have to watch it work rather than hear it. After years of having difficulty getting the floor of our spa clean, this little unit has made me wish I found it a long time ago.cyberclg
I was worried about this having NiMh batteries instead of LiOn batteries, but I have been using this to clean my Spa for over a month and have not had to recharge yet. I did fully charge it overnight before the first use. I was also worried about the suction power, because I saw several bad reviews about it. It has great suction power, at least when I leave attachments off (I haven't tried them because I want a small focus point for small areas). It pics up all the small particles in all the corners as well as larger leaves. It turns on only when submerged to protect the pump. It is very easy to clean. The telescoping handle makes it easy to reach everywhere in my spa. In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about the negative reviews, I find that most negative reviews are operator error, negative Nellies that can never be satisfied, or the rare lemon that might escape a manufacturer.David A.
Love it! I made sure to directly take it out to use after charging it when the light was green showing it’s ready to suck. Pun intended. I have a 10×20’ intex pool and it took about a half hour or so to cover it completely but picked up the dirt and debris. I have my pool away from trees with leaves so haven’t had to deal with big leaves. But round one of cleaning went great! Glad I didn’t get a robotic one bc this isn’t bad at all!Update. Make sure when you are going for removing algae to put the white sleeve over the black one. You insert the white sleeve into the black one first and make sure the thicker part of the rim of the white one extends completely below where the black ones rubber rim ends otherwise it doesn’t make a good deal when you place them together into the end of the vacuum. This is a easy way to clean the bottom of pool It works well. You do need to close off the other inlet as that pug is not part of kit. I used a plastic bag and rubber band to hold the bag on inlet head. Once that was put on the vacuum did it's job, note when cleaning the screen on filter take poll off first I dumped water all over me on my first try. Works well once I had figured out the best way to prime the pump. Using with a best way 530 pump the brush head is a bit "clunky" in my swimspa. Tends to move the dirt around to much even when slowly moving it, before the vacuum part sucks it away so the smaller dirt starts suspending off the bottom. Flat head works better and sucks all the dirt away easily. Debris bag not good for smaller dirt particles but the filter in the 530 pump takes care of that. In general pleased with my purchase as it does what I expected.gordonsi
It sucks up all the dirt leaving my pool crystal clear. I struggled at first to get all the air out the tube before hooking up but found a very handy online tip… With the pump running plug into the pool inlet first which fills it with water and then plug into the outlet to create the suction.

To be honest, I did buy this for use in my in ground pool which is not the intended use. However, I had a similar vaccine that lasted 3 years for the same use, so I had an idea of how well it may work. Unfortunately, although the vacuum battery lasts a while, the suction is not as effective as expected. It blew the dirt out and around more than it cleaned. The filter needed reinforcement to stay in place after a few uses. Since the other vacuum still works and only the brush portion had deteriorated due to use, I was able to simply use this vacuum’s brush on my other vacuum. It may be better used in a spa or small pool with minimal debris.
First of all the cheaply made very low duty plastic pole is useless as there is no additional support on the vacuum. This makes the vacuum wobble and at one point the plastic pole will break. Even with a metal pole the vacuum wobbles as there is a design error. Secondly, when lifting the vacuum, the water can freely eject and the dirt falls back into the pool. You will need to knee down and lift the vacuum with hand, turning the device upside down, to avoid all the dirt to fall back into the pool. Very poorly designed. Will return mine tomorrow. Update: Got one pf the Intex models for about 60 bucks and tjey are better designed, at least have a non return flap valve so thst the dirt can‘t fall back in the pool and similar suction power.Las V. Opening pool after not really taking care of it over winter — I'm blaming ***.anwho Wife and I have suffered through previous years keeping pool clean with ones that hookup to the pool filters. We have one of those larger Intex steel frame (12000 Gal) style pools so we know with the pump you get what you pay for (to be fair the pump works fine for the pool). It was always a hassle even as I'd upgrade connecters etc. So this year with the pool a mess and we started "cleaning" 1 hour later and wife and I just starting to boil I'm like fudge it, there has to be a better way. Found this bad boy. 100% worth it for us. Is it the best thing ever, no. Is the thing to clean your above ground medium size pool. Yes. Does it have a few "issues" with letting stuff out when you pull out of water. Of course, but you still got a lot more out. I find if I power it off under water and hold the front end up before taking it out (hard to do when on the stick, but once again I digress) there is very minimal spill back. In the end what went from a multi-person marriage destroying activity to a very easy one person (not me) way to clean the pool. Battery is long enough that outside of cleaning up a winter mess should be fine for your average cleaning cycle. The only fault would be for the really stuck on algae we have to go in the brush. If it had a way to have a hard flat brush for algae build up, well I don't know what more I could ask for at this price.JustBill

I had a pool vacuum that just used siphoning from a hose and it didn’t pick up hardly anything so I needed more living in the country with dirt and debris accumulating in my pool. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money as it’s a 16’ above-ground vinyl pool so I thought I’d try it out. It works amazing! Yes, you have to go slow as to not kick up the dirt as you go and the first time I used it, it took over an hour because you have to go slow and empty the little filter quite often because it sucks up all the nasty dirt, but it looked great by the time I got finished! There was still a little dirt at the bottom that I could’ve kept going over but it looked so much better and worked so much better than the siphoning one I started with! Highly recommend, especially if you don’t want to spend a lot of money!Amy
We tried other types of vacumns for our pool and found this one to be the best. We have a 14 ft pool that is used by 3 teenagers and its near a dirt driveway. Our pool gets the algae mostly from being covered when not in use because it's under a tree so we needed a fine filter that would capture it. Most other vacumns we used just clouded up the water, this one , even though we did stop 4 times to empty the filter bag, did amazing. For years I’ve used the pool vacuum that attaches to the water hose. It was awkward, adding water to the pool when we didn’t need it. I was not expecting this little thing to work at all. But the for the price I thought it was worth a try. I am blown away by how well it works. I have a 16 by 10 above ground pool with a larger sand filter. I get quite a bit of leaves from the trees overhead. This little vacuum will actually clean the whole thing up in about 30 to 45 minutes. The only tricky part is getting the air out of the line and there are sections in the hose that collapse due to my larger water filter. So I simply dropped down a couple of small PVC pieces down to where the sections tend to collapse. If this thing breaks I will definitely buy another one.davidwdewitt
The product details did not indicate this does not work with wall skimmers, so now I need to try to find and order an additional part. When I can position the plate adapter over the filter port, the hose it came with is so flimsy it gets sucked flat by the power of the filter. So I will also need to buy a new hose. The head does not glide smoothly over the bottom of the pool. Basically useless to me. I used it once, with no suction, just to "brush" the pool bottom. Total waste.sotto1eb
I paid $40 for this item and wasn't expecting alot, but after figuring out how to keep the air out of tubes and to plug up one of my two suction valves it worked decently. I have a 16' x 8' Intex with one of the cheapy pumps. I also have hard water and was getting alot of white chalky calcium deposits all over bottom of pool. It was able to suck it all up, but took some work having to slowly go over it several times. Don't expect the suction of a wet vac, but more a hand held vacuum. Good luck.Mavsrule

Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. I do not know if another brand is better I am just explaining my experience.Sherri

You would assume that an "Intex branded" pool vacuum would fit an Intex above ground pool, but somewhere along the line Intex changed the fitting threads on the pool return fitting and they are NOT compatible. I had to return it as it was useless. Intex should have kept everything the same instead of changing only one side's threading without changing the fitting on the pool. Terrible business decision on Intex's part. If you bought an Intex pool after Jan 2021, this vacuum will NOT fit guaranteed. If the pool was purchased pre '21 you are just rolling the dice. INTEX should either sell the appropriate fitting for the pool individually, change the fitting back to the original on the vacuum, or recall all of these vacuums. I read several reviews before purchasing but foolishly assumed Intex would have fixed the problem in 2021.Anthony C.
This thing will zip across your pool for about ten minutes but never once did it pick up even the slightest bit of dibris from the pool. Not a leaf, not a bug, not a bit of anything. Then it just sits in one spot and does nothing. It was a complete waste of over a hundred dollars and just sits in the box now. one star because you can't leave a review without giving a rating. Ships in two different packages, within a couple days of each other. Easy set up for both for the most part. The skimmer works great and the robot is amazing. There was a little confusion on what end to hook it up to but it definitely hooks up to the return and then it just takes off. We did have to make a slight adjustment to one of the hoses because it didn't fit completely right to our return but easy fix no big deal.
