Best Vacuum For Carpet And Tile (2024 Update)

I was a bit worried with so many negative reviews, but I love this vacuum. It is so light and easy to carry around. It picks up everything as long as you frequently empty the filter. I also take a can of compressed air to blow the filter clean from the inside out. It is well made, and all the parts fit well. I like the floor cleaner for picking up pet hair because it has no rollers where the hair gets tangled. The blue color is beautiful, and the unit leans against the wall without falling over. The cord could be a bit longer, but I have a lot of outlets, so no problem. I am very happy with the purchase. The price was very reasonable.Nancy

I bought this particular vacuum because I had used one at a friends's. I ordered mine on June 23rd and received it the next day! I was so excited! Three days later my friend called and said not to get the vacuum because her battery stopped charging and she had only had it for 4 months! Well, I kept mine thinking hers was a fluke but nope! After 4 1/2 months, my battery has stopped charging! I have tried to call the 1-800 number but it keeps saying "due to weather" they are closed and to call back. IF someone has any suggestions about what to do, please let me onow. I reallly liked this vacuum when it worked. Everything about was great….except now, the battery!Sad DRB in Florida

I've had many vacuums over the years and this is the worst. I extensively research items before I buy them to be sure they have the features I'm looking for, which is why I chose this product. If I could send it beck, I would. The dust cup disconnects from the handle regularly and already I've lost suction. It completely disconnects and falls apart with very little handling. It doesn't "prop up" on anything in my house like it says it should. Eureka is a good brand and I've had other stick vacs but this is awful.Jo

When I unpackaged my Eureka Rapid Clean pro, my first thought that it was too light weight and didnt look like it could handle much nor would the battery big long enough to make it around my house. I will say that I own a Kirby, Dyson, and no this Eureka so I have quite a bit to compare it to. Style wise it was similar to my Dyson V6 but not nearly as heavy. Super easy to assemble- I didnt even bother reading the instructions. I charged it up and took it around the house. Lucky for this review we are renovating our home so there is plenty of dust from hanging, texturing, and sanding drywall, 60 year old insulation fluff in and on everything and every corner and much more. I've been using my Dyson primarily before I received this just because its easier to grab- the Eureka Rapid Pro is MUCH lighter and just as easy to cart around. I LOVE that the head of the vacuum seems to sit really low to the ground where my other stick vacuum is a little higher and tends to grab things that are "too big" for it to handle and thus just shoot it out of the back- this Eureka is low enough that it doesnt really grab what it can't handle. I also love the extra wheels on the head allowing for REALLY nice range of motion.. and the LIGHT! Never thought a light on the head of a cordless vacuum would come in so handy but its life changing! I could SEE where the dust was under the bed and go where I needed and be done rather than just aimlessly moving it around and hoping I got what I needed to. Lastly- the battery life was wayyyy longer than my Dyson. I even used it- LET IT UNPLUGGED for a few days, used it again and left it unplugged again and used- that to me is amazing for a small stick vacuum. All in all- this is definitely a little machine with a big presence! Thank you!Anna

I have two Mighty Mites. I like that it rolls easy due to its light weight. The long arm makes vacuuming fast and easy on the back. The cord is easy to wrap and store. The one improvement could be a softer, longer duster brush, but that would be icing on the cake. Mighty Mite is a very nice vacuum. I highly recommend it.valann33

I have wood floors and this is cleans so much better than sweeping/dust mopping. Good suction. Easy to use on the stairs, corners, air vents, upholstered furniture. When I empty & organize my "junk" drawer, I vacuum it. Also, I use it to clean my car's interior. I gave it only 4 stars because the quality of plastic this is now made of is cheap. This is my third Mighty Mite and my old ones were made of a sturdier plastic that withstood heavy use, even falling down stairs by accident. But this new plastic will crack easily and I'm not reckless with my vacuums either.jilradek

It had great suction but it was bagless and I hated cleaning out the disgusting filter. I spent a long time researching and reading reviews for small canister vacuums. I liked the weight and features of the might mite but was hesitant because of reviews that said the hose kinks. I decided to take a gamble and order it anyway. Unfortunately, upon arrival, my hose was kinked when I pulled it out of the box! I was so disappointed! They did eventually replace it and I absolutely love my new vacuum, but just be aware that the hose can definitely kink. I would have given this vacuum 5 stars had it arrived the first time with a working hose.SuzyQ

It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. It was a terrific powerful vacuum with the normal attachments. Eureka is still a trusted maker and I wished it had the attachments I must have for a more versatile useJames

Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. The vacuum is a lemon…complete waste of the time and money spent.Card Lady

It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

The extension hose is hardly long enough. The attachment to get under furniture has no maneuverability to the point you need to get down on your hands and knees to use it. The latch on the base to change the angle is made of plastic and needs to be pushed several times to work… it's a matter of time before it breaks. And this is standard to all models. I was unable to release it with my foot and had to bend over and use my hand to adjust the vacuum. To use the wand, you need to disconnect the hose from the electrical cable. The brush attached to the wand makes the wand/hose heavier than it should be to use.Unsatisfied customer

I like the tools that come with this vacuum. There is a detail tool, dusting tool, and a tool for stairs with a rotating brush that picks up everything. It's so easy to switch out the tools and clean faster. The handle bar stretches far so I was able to use the detail tool to get spider webs from the ceiling and the duster tool to reach and clean the vents up high. You really have to clean your vents. I also used the detail tool to get on top of my door frames and the corners of rooms and stairs. Then I popped on the stair tool and finished the stairs. It made cleaning very fast and easy. This vacuum also has a spinning brush for carpets that is great because it helps pick up stuff deep down in the carpet. You can turn it off when on bare floors. It is amazing at picking up pet hair. It took no effort collecting a bunch of hair from my stairs and carpet. The only downside I can think of is that it is heavier than my last vacuum which makes carrying it upstairs harder but that's all. This is one of those purchases where you will be astounded by the performance compared to your initial expectations. As soon as removed the vacuum from the box, my expectations started to sink into my stomach a bit. The vacuum was light, and I thought to myself, "oh no, another cheap piece of plastic". Assembly though, was simple and easy. No tools required, which is great! As simple as plug and play. Within minutes, I was ready to test drive. Again, at first glance, you are definitely thinking this is a cheap, plastic vacuum. It even feels kind of cheap as you turn the selector to the appropriate height of your carpet. But through a couple of uses, i noticed this, with the handle in the upright positions, the selector moves quite freely, giving that cheap feeling, but with the handle down in the position ready to use, the knob now has the tension of vacuum's adjustment positions. You can select Hard, Low, Medium, and High. This took me a few uses to get use to, and it will you as well, because the performance depends on having this adjusted correctly. I found that too low, and the vacuum was dragging across the carpet, which made it feel heavy to push. But too high, and you were not getting that deep down clean that you want. So I highly suggest giving a few turns on different positions to see what works best for you. With that being said though, once you plug this vacuum in and turn it on, you will know why it is called the Pet Max. The powerful engine soon made up for those sinking expectations. After a few rows of vacuuming, and adjusting the height, I started to see a major difference in the performance of this vacuum compared to my higher end vacuum. The brush is amazing, it pulls from deep in the carpets to extract pesky pet hair. I was amazed, and appalled at the pet hair it was starting to collect in the container. Which by the way, is a blessing. My wife and I have 4 fur babies, dogs to be exact. And they range from short hair to long hair. And all the rooms that have carpet in them, we would have to empty the container after every room. The pet max comes with a large debris container, and the powerful engine delivers cyclonic action no matter how full it gets! That is literally the best part about the vacuum. No matter how full the container got, the performance did not lessen at all! I was very pleased with this purchase. And I almost forgot, the vacuum comes with two hepa filters!!!!! I bought this to replace a 2-in-1 stick vacuum thats handle broke. I bought the Dirt Devil Express Lite because not only was it lightweight for me to handle, had a removable hands free dust buster, it also had a roller brush I can use for area rugs and gets in the edges of the carpet along the wall. The price was about the same as the one I had with less features, so it was a great value for the price. After putting it together I realized it also has another valuable feature. The filter is rubber and can be rinsed to get rid of dust. No nasty cioth filter that never gets clean and holds odors. I have respiratory condition and this will keep my house dust free! I am so excited to have such a powerful, yet lightweight sweeper. It will meet all my needs!Psmithny2

I work full time and run an animal rescue. I needed a strong vacuum for the intake room and had NO time to put something together. To my surprise the unit literally snapped together! It also has a button to turn the broom off which I LOVE (makes me wonder about those reviews that said the broom quit, it's not advertised on box only instruction guide). Very powerful, light and maneuverable, the brush is driven by a separate motor, seams like a great design, but the brush allows hair to get right into the Barrings!!! I removed and cleaned the brush after 2nd use, found that some pet and human hair had gotten into the Barring, melted the barring cap and housing. the third use the brush stopped before i was done as it was bound up. I only used it for the upstairs of my house. I'll call support to try to get another brush, but how long will the last? after years of well designed brushes, WHAT Happened? were they lasting too long?DAVID

My little dog sheds an unbelievable amount of fur. I use this throughout my home. The best things about this product are: 1) strong motor; 2) it's lightweight; 3) the attachment hose is long enough that the vacuum doesn't collapse when in use; 3) disassembling the unit to clean is very easy, assembling is also very easy. I bought a well-advertised competitive pet vacuum during the pandemic shutdown. It caused me nothing but grief. I don't have the strong hands of a 20-year old any longer, so I dreaded having to clean the canister. There were times I broke into tears of frustration because I just didn't have the strength to move the parts in the same directions. (I put that product up on the neighborhood website "for sale" section, reducing my purchase price by 2/3. Still no takers.) I need a clean house. Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is light weight & really easy to remove the canister from the stick stick. Glides nicely over our entire house which has mostly wood floors and tile, but did well on multiple rugs with different pile heights. It even comes with attachments to clean the stairs, furniture or our SUV & truck. We had a different cordless one but needed a vacuum we didn’t have to worry about running out of battery 1/2 way through our home. The cord is super long so that helps us from having to re-plug every few feet. The dust compartment is simple to empty and clean out with a press of a button. We have 2 dogs and 4 kids so we’re constantly vacuuming, the power is awesome and it’s convenient to easily unload the debris. It’s lightweight too, so it’s easy for me to move around the house without it being a hassle. There is a little downside to it, which is that it doesn’t stand on its own, so you’ll have to either prop it on something or fold it (which is easy) in order to do something else if needed while vacuuming. So I’m taking it down a star for that since I do have to stop and pick up toys etc having kids & pets constantly playing.Heathermthomas

The Shark Rocket Pro, picks up VERY well. The area I first vacuumed with it, was a area that had been vacuumed the day before. Within five minutes, the Shark had picked up A LOT more. The vacuum was easy to assemble and the attachment comes apart easily to be able to vacuum the ceiling and other had to get to areas. The Shark glides across any floor easily and turns easily. The only drawback I found with this Shark machine was the motor was near the top of the handle and it made the machine top heavy. It doesn’t stand on it’s own. There are two small attachments that didn’t have anywhere to attach to the machine, that I could find. But, as well as this machine works, I find these to be minor problems. As you can see from the photo, it picked up quite a bit after only a five minute vacuum. I have animals and cleaning hair has always been a problem.adcatex6

This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum works GREAT ! I really like how light weight it is, I can very easily maneuver it around the house with little effort and let me say how GREAT it picks up all the dirt and debris from my floors. My carpets are much cleaner/fluffy and my hardwood floors are cleaned better than when I sweep. I am very excited and satisfied at how much debris/hair/dust/dirt was in the debris container. This vacuum has PLENTY of attachments that I can use on my stairs and I'll even be cleaning my curtains and window seals. As small as this vacuum is, is does the job QUICKLY and very EFFECTIVELY, much much better than my current canister vacuum. This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is much quieter and very stronger in terms of suction than ANY vacuum I've ever owned. I went from 45 minutes of vacuuming to 15 minutes, WHAT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT ! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend the Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum if you want clean floors with little effort AND multiple attachments that can simplify and clean the most hard to reach places and other areas.liljayp

I LOVE DYSON. It’s been a love affair for @15 or so years. I had the V-6 and made an excuse that college child needed so I could get the V-11animal. No one in my house were allowed to use. It WAS my baby – empty nester at the time. I bought it shortly after it first came out so it has the screwed in battery. I needed a cordless vacuum that was able to pick up Belgian Malinois Shepard fur from H _ _ _, easy to use, lighter than a full vacuum BUT WORK AS WELL OR BETTER than a full-size – I have chronic back pain and fibromyalgia and numbness… Yes in my crazy perfect vacuum dream world this existed and it DID! Thanks Dyson! It checked EVERY box of my needs, well except price. It was the most I have ever spent on something for me but dang it I deserved it and NEEDED it. It has been absolutely incredible! I would have told you 2 years ago do whatever you need to and buy bc it has incredible suction, awesome holders for tools with wall mount and on pole, adjustable suction on torque floor tool, adjust able power – Eco for low dirt area, Auto and Boost for deeper and stronger suction. So those are PROS. CONS are you need to press trigger to power it so with my neuropathy in hands at times I cannot vac, need to remove any attachments to empty dirt bin, after @8-12 months the bin empty slide started to stick, and then at 2 years (WARRANTY EXPIRED) and @5 months it started to shut off and then turn on. Called customer support and and they did a video troubleshoot and said it’s the battery. Well no battery in stock. Actually ABSOLUTELY ZERO SPARE PARTS for my baby have been in stock for over a month now! A week or so later it stopped more and then shut down. Called again and told it was the cyclone part (a guy on YouTube had same exact issue but his warranty was still active) BUT NO PART available. He told me to call or go to my nearest Dyson service center. Well the nearest in @1.25hrs. away. I do not have a car – getting divorced so I took my Dyson V11 animal and he got our 25 y/o car worth about the same. He fought for my V11 which was honestly a no win – I don’t know what he was thinking. Lol Plus the service center when I finally reached a person said that maybe it’s the trigger and I could mail it in. I still haven’t decided bc why pay to ship something that there’s no parts for? I rarely ever leave reviews but this thing is great! This is my first Dyson purchase and I have a German Shepard mix who sheds constantly, this V11 handles his hair with ease. I love the flexibility to use it anywhere with the attachments that are included, my personal favorite is the mini motorized tool. The simple design makes it easy to clean and maintenance. This thing picks up dirt that you don’t even see, especially in carpets and area rugs. I am also one who cares about packaging and this thing is packaged perfectly. The only downside, like all electronics is the battery life. 5 to 6 minutes on boost mode is not enough for a vacuum of this cost. I would like to see Dyson sell an additional king power cord that can be used to power the vacuum directly more like a traditional vacuum if needed for those of us with bigger houses with lots of carpeted areas.Jxustin

After reading these reviews I can't help but think that these machines are designed to last for roughly 2.5 years. My machine did the exact same thing that others have written about. I purchased this machine back in January 2020, about a month ago it started cutting off during use. The cutting off started getting more frequently to the point where the machine stays on for about 2 seconds before cutting off which makes it inoperable. So I call the service center to be told that my machine is out of warranty as of January 2022 and a replacement motor will cost $116. It is really unfortunate that a $700 machine is designed to last 2.5 years before you have to put more money into it. The sad part about it is that most people will pay the $116 because you can not get a new decent vac for that price and secondly, you have already invested $700 in this machine. It is very disheartening, and I wish I would have went with a different brand.Trise

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them – I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!Lindz02

This vacuum has the best suction and with 2 golden retrievers I need it but here are the cons It’s heavy and you have to hold in the switch to keep it running guessing this is to preserve the battery. All of the weight of the vacuum as at your wrist and hand and while 4.5 lbs doesn’t seem like much as you are holding it and the on button it is very stressful to your arm wrist and hand. When moving from hardwood to shag (I have all hardwood and two 8×10 shag type area rugs) the beater bar stops and the machine quits working even when you stop and move it to the highest setting so it won’t vacuum my area rugsI can’t even hardly push it through the carpet. I can let it and set it down and pull it. . It will do low pile rugs. Then it won’t stand up on its own you have to lean it on something or never stop vacuuming. I can get through most of my house 1400 square foot with the light before it dies or moves to eco. The head does not easily release to use just the end to get into tight spaces or replace with another attachment. The cord for the battery is actually quite short if you’re hoping to plug it in a closet or hide away place. Sleek as it may seem I don’t want a vacuum hanging up as decor so I’m going to have to add a plug somewhere out of sight. The pros are the light and suction provided you can really get every hair and see all dust if your room is not to bright the light really shows everything I turn down the lights to vacuum crazy I will definitely not buy another and totally regret this purchase for the price it really should come with two batteries and be able to vacuum carpet. I have two Mighty Mites. I like that it rolls easy due to its light weight. The long arm makes vacuuming fast and easy on the back. The cord is easy to wrap and store. The one improvement could be a softer, longer duster brush, but that would be icing on the cake. Mighty Mite is a very nice vacuum. I highly recommend it.valann33

I have wood floors and this is cleans so much better than sweeping/dust mopping. Good suction. Easy to use on the stairs, corners, air vents, upholstered furniture. When I empty & organize my "junk" drawer, I vacuum it. Also, I use it to clean my car's interior. I gave it only 4 stars because the quality of plastic this is now made of is cheap. This is my third Mighty Mite and my old ones were made of a sturdier plastic that withstood heavy use, even falling down stairs by accident. But this new plastic will crack easily and I'm not reckless with my vacuums either.jilradek

It had great suction but it was bagless and I hated cleaning out the disgusting filter. I spent a long time researching and reading reviews for small canister vacuums. I liked the weight and features of the might mite but was hesitant because of reviews that said the hose kinks. I decided to take a gamble and order it anyway. Unfortunately, upon arrival, my hose was kinked when I pulled it out of the box! I was so disappointed! They did eventually replace it and I absolutely love my new vacuum, but just be aware that the hose can definitely kink. I would have given this vacuum 5 stars had it arrived the first time with a working hose.SuzyQ

There are 3 Miele canister vacuums in our extended family (2 in mine – one upstairs, one downstairs). They’re worth every penny tho there are a couple downsides. Our thoughts: we love how lightweight, portable, convenient, super quiet, and efficient these are, particularly for hardwood / tile floors. The carpet attachment doesn’t work that well for pet hair on carpet but it does work on low-pile Persian rugs. Super easy to change out the vacuum bags but they aren’t usually full when the indicator says they are. Love the cord retraction system – step on a button and the cord magically rewinds itself! Downside – the new version has a hard surfaces attachment that isn’t quite as efficient as the older (2008-ish) models. Overall, this deserves at least 5 stars (in some ways 10!), and it’s well worth the spend, especially on sale!Andine

After reading the multiple glowing reviews here and also reviewing CR ratings for similar models (why doesn't CR ever review the exact model of ANYTHING I want?), I plunked down my 299 minus 20%. Brought it home, assembled it quickly, and fired that bad boy up. It was on the "quiet" setting. The amazing thing was that it was actually QUIET. The proof of this was the reaction of my German Shepherd puppy (16 months). This dog hates all my previous vacuums, but didn't seem to be at all concerned about the Miele. I vacuumed the entire top floor of our house and my wife also said she hardly heard it through the door of the bedroom. One thing I noticed is that this vacuum, like my previous ones, struggles to pick up the hard pellets of dry dog food. By "struggle", I mean that you have to actually position the cleaning head over the errant kibble, then it sucks it right up. What it doesn't do is just sweep it automatically on the initial pass. Now, "Quiet" setting is only the 3rd highest power, so it may perform better at max settings. Still, I'd rather the quiet. I'll update this review if something goes wrong, but I feel like this was an excellent purchase, money well spent, and I am looking forward to years of use.PuppyDad

I bought my Compact C1 vac about 5 years ago, and LOVE IT! It is quiet, lightweight, with the most useful features of any vac I have had in over 50 years.  I don’t need to move my mats off the floor in the kitchen or the bathroom, pick my shoes up off the floor if I don’t want to or that shirt sitting over in the corner, I don’t have to worry it’s going to get stuck under at the bed because it does a great job navigating whatever it is under the bed and not only does it do a great job it identifies by taking a picture of whatever item is under there, and with a percentage of certainty it can assess what that item is not always great by does a pretty darn good job. It is by far, as other reviewers have noted, leaps and bounds …. ARTEMIS SIZE… GALACTICLY SUPERIOR to ANY other vacuum. And then, to add an amazing mop that is utilized simultaneously with the vacuuming feature, and the ability to customize from a light mop job to a extra duty session— YESSSSS nailed it in execution, nailed it in design, and nailed it in understanding the deficiencies of the current technologies on the market, and then bring the technology market 🙂 Summarized, and in general, I have been pretty darn critical of most of them tech purchases in the past 10 years because of shifty retailers, manufactures, ad campaigns, all implying, amazing features and benefits that blend into a disappointment and waste. If not a complete failure. It’s usually what is implied by the manufacture, but not stated that leaves disappointment in execution. And then, of course, there are the glaring issues, confronting consumers in the marketplace by way of the retailers, not Best Buy that don’t care about the customer enough to mandate that pro product descriptions are actually in English enough to understand but to me that basically means that a manufacture doesn’t really care about the American consumer at all because if they did, they would find somebody who speaks English enough to write a manual for whatever product and to write print and advertise that product in a way that respects the customer and doesn’t make them have to read between the lines or reword, poor grammatical errors, because of a lack of regard that upsets me more than anything so I’m very glad to have retailers that are still around like Best Buy where I know specifications for a product are going to be the specs for the product. Anyway, the bottom line is, this is a win. I’m pleased, and I have not been pleased in the product and I can say this pretty certainly in a very, very long time, so great job, Robo rock. You know this industry segment is still very young when the best robot vacuum by far which is this S7 MaxV Ultra has quite a few areas to improve on but all in all. I LOVE IT! This is advanced AI coupled with top level engineering at its finest for robot vacuum cleaners. At this point, Roborock is Roborock's biggest competitor – however, there's def room for improvement. Below is everything the bot does really well that are selling points. For the "Needs to improve" I'll indicate whether these are software fixes or hardware changes which means you'd have to wait for the next version and hope the changes are built in as part of the bots physical hardware component. Best Features – Intuitive UI & navigation software packed with useful features (3D map, 2 way calling, etc) – Ability to auto fill bot with water, auto empty dustbin and wash mop – Great battery life (my experience) – On board video camera to see where bot is cleaning – Carpet detection feature with mop auto lift – AI obstacle recognition, avoidance & tagging – Room recognition with machine learning capabilities. – Various cleaning configuration settings Needs to improve – Show water levels in app (hardware fix) – Increased suction doesn't do much for carpets. Still misses threads and small particles from time to time. I bought the Eureka Mighty Mite specifically because it was the cheapest vacuum cleaner with a bag that I could find. As such, it works. It is very cheaply made. The two straight sections that connect to the floor sweeper often come apart. The ring that increases or reduces suction on one of those sections is really hostile to fingers. Watch out. It took a bite out of the palm side of one of my fingers! But, the vacuum does function. If you need a cheap vacuum cleaner with a bag, it’s a very basic choice.Katherine

Warning! This is copied and pasted right off the Walmart description: "The Eureka Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is versatile – while it does well on carpets or rugs, it is ideal for vacuuming bare floors, wood floors and tiles." When I put it together and started to vacuum, I realized you can't push the floor tool on carpet; all you can do is drag it toward you. There are no rollers on it. I called the customer service helpline and told them, and they said it wasn't meant for rugs, only bare floors. I read them the description above that said it does well on carpets or rugs, and on page 6 of the owner's guide it gave instructions for both bare floors and rugs. Then she said it was only for flat rugs. I had tried it on both flat rugs and one with medium pile. It was only slightly workable on the flat rugs. I was extremely disappointed. It has strong suction, so if all you have is bare floors, it would be okay. But don't buy it if you have any carpet at all.Melanie

I had hoped there would be a brush on the floor attachment and not just plastic. I was happy to find some sort of velcro strip that picks up rug stuff or bare floor dust balls. This was not mentioned in the list of the product. Otherwise, the suction was great, but had to keep the slide open, for not the maximum suction, as it was too strong! Also, not mentioned was the receiving of 2 bags, one inside and one separate to use. I still ordered 3 more separately as the local stores did not carry them. As a senior, I don't create lots of dust in my 700 sq.ft. apartment. Now to start on the brush attachment and do some fine dusting! Would be a great vacuum for someone with a small home, they only use this on. I’m not a fan of it because I used it for about 2 weeks and it seriously lost suction in that time. I have to clean it after EVERY room and make sure the filter is perfectly clear for it to have just a bit of the suction it started with. Hopefully I just received a dud and it’s not like this for everyone else who purchases it. I do love the size and convenience of this vacuum, it’s very portable and rolls very easily across any floor, I also love that the attachment is already on the handle and all you have to do is pull it down to use it. It would be great for someone who doesn’t have pets and won’t use it as often as I do.Ashley

The suction for this vacuum cleaner is terrible. It's ok if you want to do a little light cleaning on floors. Not worth the money you pay. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. A waste of money an time using it.Cynthia

My belief – this is a good vacuum which will work well for some. The problem I had is 'inadequate attachments' need for versatility.. It really gives you a rather klutzy poor design floor-rug tool. It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. It was a terrific powerful vacuum with the normal attachments. Eureka is still a trusted maker and I wished it had the attachments I must have for a more versatile useJames
