Great, except for the fact that it is smelly. It redistribute the dirty air into the room. One has to fully open the windows before use. Also, the large nozzle just dropped on the floor and broke. Now, I have to find a replacement. I was snapped into place, but now I can no longer snap it back in. The flap that holds it in place is in flimsy plastic.SSL-ADT

I've only had this vac for a few days now but I put it to good use cleaning my shop. So far I'm pleased with the performance of the machine. It has good suction, I like the tool caddy that mounts right on the vac for easy access to the accessories, and good capacity for dust and dirt. The two negatives I have for the vac is the power cord is a bit short and the vacuumn hose as well. Other than those two items I like my purchase and think it's a fair value for the price.rb1995

I've had this for over two years and used it around the house and for the car. Its a great unit – sucks well and is not too big. I love the storage for the extensions. Canadians be aware: if you want to get the hepa filter cartridge for this, it is almost impossible to find in Canada. Rona / Lowes doesnt sell it – I mean why would they support a product they sell?? I waited a for a year for the 'big online retailer' to get it in stock. In the meantime I called every supplier I could find and nobody had the hepa filter in Canada. Might not be an issue if you dont need any upgrades – but it just shows that Dewalt doesnt provide much support in Canada for this product. My other complaint is that the tool end of the hose is 1-7/8 inch. This is a rarer size – so if you ever want to hook this up to more standard sized dust collection ports (e.g. 2-1/2 inch) you will spend a lot of time or money trying to find an adapter that works correctly. Or you'll be using a bunch of duct tape. I tried many parts from big box stores – I eventually gave up and 3d printed the adapter that I needed. Overall I like the vac – its sturdy, has good power, and works well. I bought it on sale thinking it was a great 'deal'. Yet I've spent more time and money on getting this to work with other things than I should have to. Next time I'm buying a brand that has parts readily available, uses more common standards, and backed by local stores for parts.WoodyBwoi

Works great! Unfortunately my 20 plus year old small shop vac I use for vehicles and garage died from drywall dust abuse so I had to get another and this works great as it's replacement. One downside is it should come with the BRUSH attachment for the price it was. Now to just use my bigger one for the construction stuff….anonymous

I originally bought the 12 gal size but returned it in favor of the 6, which I was really happy that I did. For regular household use, this is perfect. Some of the reviews were complaining about the casters; while they required some force to get in, they seem to be pretty locked in. I'd rather have to apply some force rather than have the wheels fall off. The 20' long power cord is also nice as it gives plenty of room to work with. The hose is a good length. Our Shop-Vac 6 gal 3 hp wet/dry vac gave out after many years of service. After researching way too many choices online, I settled on the Craftsman 6 gal. Corded Wet/Dry Vacuum 3-1/2 hp. While the machine size was what we wanted, and the price was right, especially with the Ace Rewards $20 discount, I was concerned that it came with so few attachments and a 1-7/8" hose that is not compatible with the assortment of 1-1/4" Shop-Vac tools we have acquired over the years. Ace does not sell a 1-7/8" to 1-1/4" adapter, but I assumed I'd find one somewhere online. When I got the vacuum home and put it together (easy assembly, by the way) I found that the machine end of the Craftsman 1-7/8" hose is identical to the that of the Shop-Vac 1-1/4" hose – each will plug into the machine's intake for a secure, no-leak fit. So, problem solved, and no adapter needed. We prefer the flexibility of the old 1-1/4" hose to the new, more rigid 1-7/8" hose for most of our around-the-house needs. If we have a bigger job that will benefit from the larger diameter hose, we'll simple switch hoses. The machine seems durable, with ample power and suction using either hose, and should meet our wet/dry vac needs for years to come.Paul

Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

Used it to clean my attic after forgetting to lay down tarp when roof was being replaced. Works well — good suction (used only hose with no attachment). I did however, pick up the nails and large wood shavings by hand before vacuuming. Bucket holds a good amount of debris. Please note my 5-star rating is based on the dry vac function with hose only. My wife wanted a miniature shop vac and found this one online. She read reviews and did her research. She liked what she read and bought one. She absolutely loves it. It is her opinion that even if you don't think you need one, you're wrong. It was originally bought to vacuum our large couches, she has used it on so many things I lost count. Since it's so portable, it gets carried from room to room to suction dust various areas and vacuum behind areas that are hard to reach. My wife states that it is the perfect size for so many cleaning projects that my full size shop vac is "too big and bulky to drag around." She's 100% satisfied.KS

First off you need too know we have a 2-story home, about 30 years old, fully carpeted, with two indoor dogs (Corgis – who have two coats that they “blow” year round!)! We learned a long time ago that dust and dog hair was a real problem, and needed a vacuum that could keep up. Tried several expensive ones with all the “doo-dads” but they would break quickly, loose suction very quickly, couldn’t keep up with the pet hair… You get the picture. Our most recent purchase before the Oreck was one of those “ball” type vacuums that supposedly never loose suction – supposed to be a real “Animal”, and the cost reflected the hype. But it was so lousy at picking up pet hair I would have to “rake” the carpet with a little plastic rake first to get up most the pet hair. It would loose suction and the cannister would fill up so fast I had to empty it after every room. So I broke down and spent some money on a simple vacuum with no gimmicks, just “a vacuum”. The Oreck XL Commercial is the real “animal” in this zoo. It NEVER loses suction. Where none of the other vacuums I ever owned would do a good job of getting pet hair and that powder you spread to make the carpet smell good up in one pass, the Oreck gets all of it in ONE pass. The bag on this vacuum can be changed out in about 30 seconds (when you have too). I probably could vacuum this house twice and still not have to replace the bag as it’s really that big! And the cord is 40’ long! No more constantly hunting for a plug. I plug it in once and do an entire floor. It’s built very simple and tuff since it’s a commercial grade vacuum and very light weight. Oh, the handle is really nice and you can bend it completely level with the floor to vacuum under tables and such. I don’t ussually take the time to right a review since I figure they should make stuff right to begin with. But this vacuum deserves a good review.R.H.

Best Canister Vacuum on the market. I have purchased several portable canister vacuums and this Oreck is the best! I purchased this for my son who is in construction so he can clean up messes for his customers when he finishes his jobs. He says the vac is so powerful it has picked up wood splinters, sheet rock crumbles, pebbles, broken glass – anything mess that is left over from a construction job. I use it all around the house and in my car. Forget those car vacuums that don't pick up anything. This canister vacuum will even pick up all dog hairs left by my dogs when I take them for rides in my car. And ever try to get dog hair off your couch? This vac has no problem sucking up all the dog hair. Me and my son have been using it for almost a year now and it is still as strong as day 1. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.E.

I have owned 3 Oreck sweepers for 25+ years. Received my first canister sweeper as a freebie when I purchased my first upright. I loved it for cleaning cars, stairs, windows and around the baseboards in our home. It was light weight but very durable. It was my go-to sweeper for small and quick jobs. The only complaints I have are the red cord… really? why red? and the flexible hose is not long enough for most chores. I had another hose from an older sweeper, my husband had to modify the older hose but now I am much happier with the longer, more flexible hose.Kathy

I have had the old version of the canister and loved it. I decided to give that one to my father and buy this. It is difficult to use.1. the hose always pulls against you – have tried to stretch it out but it doesn't work.2. The friction method of attaching the extension wand does not work as the weight of the wand is too heavy. I kept having to put it back on as it slides off and eventually the end of the wand cracked and needed to be taped.3. The longer cord is great but is too heavy for the weight of the canister itself.4. The strap broke within a month so can't hang it over my shoulder > the little plastic that attaches it – is not strong enough.5. Works great! I own the other style handheld Dewalt vacuum and purchased this one for use in my camper van due to the attachments. The bristled brushes cleans molding without scratching it. The extension makes vacuuming the floor easy on your back. The pointed attachment is great for doing under the seats and hard to reach places.Grant P

This vacuum has good suction and decent capacity. It seems best suited as a small projects vacuum to be kept near your pantry, garage, or around your cars. The tube is sized to fit common small diameter shop vacuum hoses and accessories, so it's nice to not be tied to one proprietary set of fittings. According to the documentation, the filter needs to be knocked clean and can't be blown out with an air hose. It sucked up fine wood dust without redistributing it in the air, but emptying the filter was a little of a pain. It's compatible with all the DeWalt batteries I have, from 1.5 to 6 AH. The motor noise is loud, a little louder than my previous cheapo dust buster, but only slightly. Overall I'm quite happy with this vacuum and hope the long term durability justified the price tag.LTools

I've waited years for DeWalt to make this exact product. I have all the batteries I need and don't need to pay $399 for a Dyson that I have only two 1.5ah batteries on hand to deal with. This vacuum is perfect for around the house, cleaning hard surfaces with the floor attachment, and detailing cars. I will warn anyone that expects a bit too much of a compact vacuum, this will not clean your carpets. It will however clean your 3 year old's spilled cocoa puffs off the carpet without pulling out the Kirby or Shop Vac. 100% would recommend for shop, jobsite, and home. I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them – I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!Lindz02

This vacuum has the best suction and with 2 golden retrievers I need it but here are the cons It’s heavy and you have to hold in the switch to keep it running guessing this is to preserve the battery. All of the weight of the vacuum as at your wrist and hand and while 4.5 lbs doesn’t seem like much as you are holding it and the on button it is very stressful to your arm wrist and hand. When moving from hardwood to shag (I have all hardwood and two 8×10 shag type area rugs) the beater bar stops and the machine quits working even when you stop and move it to the highest setting so it won’t vacuum my area rugsI can’t even hardly push it through the carpet. I can let it and set it down and pull it. . It will do low pile rugs. Then it won’t stand up on its own you have to lean it on something or never stop vacuuming. I can get through most of my house 1400 square foot with the light before it dies or moves to eco. The head does not easily release to use just the end to get into tight spaces or replace with another attachment. The cord for the battery is actually quite short if you’re hoping to plug it in a closet or hide away place. Sleek as it may seem I don’t want a vacuum hanging up as decor so I’m going to have to add a plug somewhere out of sight. The pros are the light and suction provided you can really get every hair and see all dust if your room is not to bright the light really shows everything I turn down the lights to vacuum crazy I will definitely not buy another and totally regret this purchase for the price it really should come with two batteries and be able to vacuum carpet. This vacuum is good for its price. It is mainly plastic construction but it holds up with normal use. The power cable is two pieces (short length attached to the vacuum and a long extension) that is heavy duty and weighs a lot more than standard vacuums.wiz240

I have an older, corded Dyson which is still a workhorse. But since it is quite heavy and I am older, I can no longer easily carry it up and down stairs. So this corded one now stays upstairs which is carpeted, and the V12 Detect Slim is perfect for downstairs which is all tile/hardwood. I have 2 very fluffy cats which shed a lot – constantly – and will sometimes scatter litter when covering their waste. I tried another stick vacuum which was great for about a year, but then started dropping the litter back down and out onto the floor again so this was frustrating and useless. Back to Dyson and so far so very good. The one small feature that helped me finally make the choice of the V12 Detect Slim is the "on/off" button over the trigger in the other models. I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and the trigger would probably not be comfortable for me. I also love the laser attachment to find all the litter scatter pieces that are not easily seen but certainly are felt by bare feet. I've only had this vacuum for a short while and have not tried all of the attachments yet but am hopeful that my furniture will be cleaner of cat hair just as my floors seem to be. Yes, the dust bin is small, but it's so easy to detach and empty I don't find that to be an issue for me. As long as the V12 Detect slim keeps holding the litter in this bin, I will keep singing its praises. I also bought the standing Dok and love this. Would just like a holder of some sort to attach to the stand for holding more of the attachments. So, considering how well my older, corded vacuum has performed and continues to perform, I'm hopeful for similar performance from the V12 Detect Slim.SueD12

I was very excited to get the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, especially since I have had such great experiences with other Dyson products. Packaging and assembly with a breeze pretty self explanatory. I was impressed from the start with how lite it was, which made is very convenient for the stairs in our house. It was easy enough for the kids to carry around and use too, which is always a plus! I found it fairly easy to use for over head tasks too. I liked that it only has a single button power control. The LCD screen is probably my favorite feature. It shows you what has been lifted on the different surfaces, it is clear and easy to understand. In fact at one point it wasn’t functioning properly and the LCD screen told me what the problem was right away and I was able to fix it right away. I love that I didn’t have to trouble shoot it and take the whole thing apart to figure out the problem. It came with some neat attachments, the fluffy yellow and purple roller that is perfect for our wooden and tile floors, it had no problem fitting under our dining table and coffee table, this saved me time from having to move the furniture around. It comes with a wall dock that provides a way to easily store all the components while charging it as well. It included a neat hair screw tool, the allows you to pick up pet hair making pet spaces easy and fast to keep clean. They have a new design on the motorbar which helps to detangle long hair, eliminating the need for me to take it apart to cut out tangled hair like I have had to with other vacuums. You can select from the three cleaning modes depending on what job you are tackling. The waste bin is super easy to empty, simply point it in the trash can and push the lever to release the dirt. It is quick and straight to the point and I didn’t have to tough anything so my hands never got dirty. I love that it gives you 60 minutes of charge unlike previous machines that gave my around 20 minutes, also I found that the battery did a great job of holding the charge even when it was not in use or plugged in. The only “con” I would say I found was that if you doing a bigger job like cleaning more that a few rooms at a time, you have to stop and empty out the bin more often perhaps because it is a smaller unit but if you don’t mind that it really isn’t an issue. I have 3 (now 4) Dyson vacuums, I have the Airwrap and it is so awesome I wanted to try their other products. I purchased my first used D6 from eBay, I wanted to try one to see if it worked as well as it was claimed. I liked it but wanted a newer so I gave that one to my son and saved up and went with the V10 model (which I still have and still love), I then purchased the canister (refurbished) for deep cleaning items like furniture because the V10 would only go about 30 minutes and that was frustrating to me. I wanted something with a swappable battery but did not want to spend another $600 so when the small one (Omni Glide) came out I got it from Best Buy and found some extra attachments on ebay for it (mini motorized tool) and that one was excellent for day to day and my car, the battery lasts forever and is swappable, but I never needed a second for that one. My daughter borrowed it (she cleans houses) and she loved it so I let her keep it and found this one, which is in the middle of the 2 I have. I think the laser might send my OCD into overdrive because it showed everything on the floor when it looks clean without it. It is crazy how much dust it shows. I am glad I can turn it off if I choose, but I have not done that. IMO this is the best of the 5 I have tried. The battery seems to last, but it is swappable so when they are available I will be buying an extra. But so far I am using eco mode mostly and the battery lasts longer than I expected. The suction even on eco is better than my D10, my D10 does not suck up the throw rugs, but this one does. I wish I could adjust the suction to lower for this reason but all around this is a great cordless. I like the power switch because it makes it easier when using some of the attachments, not having to hold the trigger, but I am torn as I also like the trigger switch and miss it a little.M00nbeam

Purchased my first one, unit stopped turning on after a week. Exchanged it and got another one, it just stopped working again after 2-3 months and I can’t find the receipt. Even when it did work, it had horrible suction. Will never buy again.F193

My first impression was that this doesn't feel cheap as with many new products these days. The flexible hose felt very heavy duty as does the body of this unit. The suction surpassed my expectations. After setting it up, I stuck my hand near the hose inlet as a test and based on how it was sucking on my palm I have decided that it has great suction. Another feature that I like is that it has a compartment at the top that stores your vacuum accessories. However, one thing that I disliked is how loud this unit is. My reference for this observation is in comparison to my old shop vac that this is replacing. This vacuum is really loud, especially when vacuuming out my car in an enclosed garage.Cdub

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I'm not impressed. I'm already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience. It doesn't have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush. It's really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full. I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don't. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself. It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum. My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can't be removed. This was probably my worst "big purchase" of 2021. I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present, but I do not like it at all. It is not convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry. So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler’s mess AND warm up and use my steam mop. Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use. I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good. It’s also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it’s evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section. It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it. The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap. For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs.Melissa O

I just bought this when my old shop vac (starts with a C) motor bearing burned out (it started to scream and smell). It has great vacuum and moves a lot of air for a shop vac. I will use this under my drill press, but also use it with my router table and wood shaper to keep sawdust down. I like that it comes with a 10 foot power cord, so extension cord is not needed any more and I can move it about without unplugging it. I also like it has a 2" hose instead of the 1.25" hose (most of the Bauer shop vacs have the bigger hose) and was a requirement for the aforementioned tools. Pretty good for the discounted price of $100. Assembly was very simple- 4 screws, one per wheel. Most of the accessories are in the tank. I hope this has better reliability than my C shop-vac. (I no longer buy "C" products because of poor bearings) Note that the tank is 14 gallons, but actual debris capacity is probably half that after the filter is inserted, but that is true for all shop vacs.Delaware Dave

We now have a dog which means both mine and my wife's car require deep cleaning. I had been using an old household vacuum cleaner that I had stationed in the garage but it became clearer to me that I couldn't pick-up all the dried food bits and dog hair with that vacuum cleaner. The Bauer Wet/Dry Vac is probably twice as powerful as my old home vacuum cleaner! It cleans out our cars so much better! I also plan to use it to clean out the ash from my Traeger smoker and suck-out the leaves that have been collecting inside my home A/C condenser. I only wish Bauer also provided a smaller crevice tool that can more easily access under and next to my car seats.Don E

I used mine on a daily basis. You can not beat it for the money. I use mine for hot tub drain and cleans. This vacuum is large enough to hold all the water my drain pump can’t get and strong enough to pull the water out the plumbing, even on the larger hot tubs with 60+ jets. I also run mine with out any of the filters and am constantly using it to drain water with extremely high bromine (chlorine) and both acidic and super hard water. I beat mine up and I still get 200+ drain and cleans out of it before the motor starts to weaken. I’m sure if I was nicer to them I could get it to last much longer. The fact that it lasts as long as it does with the way I abuse it says a lot about how well it’s built. I’ll be back for another when I blow this one up.Hot Tub Service Pros

Absolutely love this vac! Not big and clunky like the other vac Ive used over the years. Its not meant for sucking up drywall and big stuff but at the end of the day clean up it is perfect. Plenty of suction battery life depends on the battery you use for me Im using Dewalts flexvolts and they power it plenty long for what I need. Dumping the debris is simple and what youd expect.. wearing the vac can be a little snug depending on what your wearing at the time Im 510 220 and it will fit me with a thick sweatshirt on. If I had any negatives it would be I wish they included a different attachment besides the ones they do. Id like to have a small upholstery attachment for car interior Other than that Im very pleased with the purchaseT.

I have been using this vacuum in the shop for a few months now, and overall I do love it, as I find it more practical than a normal rolling shop vac, no tripping over cords or pulling it around, and man is it quiet!! With a 12.0 battery it last long enough on high to clean the entire garage. The floor tool is awesome, and love that when its laid sideways it maintains contact/suction with the floor and thus allows you to get well under things like table or cars if you take a knee. overall I would buy it again BUT…. I really wish there were a few improvements, one that to me seem common sense. First is a BRUSH ATTACHMENT PLEASE! how that could be overlooked is beyond me, but it seems that nothing is made to attach to this style of hose, and of course the hose size is weird and nonexistent outside of this product. I found one close on Amazon and using a generic adapter that I had to modify a bit, I know have a brush that I can force onto the hose and it will stay on, for the most part… Next is I think the 9ft hose should be standard, the 6ft is just too short, and if you set the vac down and are using it you run out if length really quick, and even with the 12.0 battery weight it still tips over when you hit that limit. Seriously the BRUSH!! I would trade the crevice tool and the dust collector attachment for 1 brush! ok moving on, i don't particularly care for the power switch, the location is great for when you wear it, but quite lousy for any other means of operation, always struggling to find it without seeing it, and the 2 speed function is not preferable as I NEVER use the low speed, and its too easy to switch it from high to low when trying to switch it off. Have done it a few times while around loud equipment and since its so quiet I had no idea it was on until I went to use it next and found the battery dead! I think my last gripe would be the filter, as it comes with very little info on how to determine when it is time for a new one, and the few emails I have sent to Milwaukee about the filter and brush have went unanswered! I love the HEPA filtration as it keeps the dust down making clean up better. The issue I have is that it seems to not take much fine dust to plug it, at which point it seems that vacuum finds its way around the seals and back out, no longer providing HEPA filtration. I believe this is what is happening as after a dozen or two uses, I start to notice the air in the shop seems dusty while using it(and this is of course emptying the bin and knocking out the dust from the filter, after which I also clean the sealing surfaces of dust) and the vacuum canister will have a layer of dust statically clinging to the outside. I replaced the filter with a new one (kinda $$) and the issue went away,….for another few dozen cleanings, and then came back. I am now on my 3rd filter in roughly 3 months of owning/frequent use. I don't see why a pre-filter wasn't added(and i intend to try making my own) as the inside of the canister under the HEPA filter seems like an ideal location to have had a cylindrical pre-filter-which would save the HEPA some life as they are a bit pricey to replace monthly. I also may add a thin shim under the HEPA to try and make the sealing surface contact better so the dust can't find its way around, figure I shouldn't have to worry much about working the battery/motor too hard since the FUEL/Red Lithium combo is supposed to be able to detect those issues and cut power?! Anyway, I would still buy it again, the price was a bit to work past, but after getting it I couldn't go back to any other vacuum for general small debris/dust pickup. Just wish I had a BRUSH and a pre-filter, and the 9ft hose standard!(It definitely is better with the extra reach)AA88

I've had starts with r ends in i battery and several starts with an R ends with d corded shop vacs including there stainless steel top of the line one. My mom had the great white (no brand names allowed) stick battery. All of which have burned out motors or upon having them fixed under warranty absolutely sucked. This vacuum not only lasts with my 6.0 batteries but is amazing. The attachments are awesome and the performance along with the versatility is impeccable. I only wish there was more on board storage for accessories and that you could change battery/empty canister without having to unsteady the backpack no big deal. I've used it on my garage extremely uneven, pitted, and cracked concrete slab. It's picked up glass, screws, dust that I could never get put of the cracks without using an air compressor. I highly recommend this vacuum. I will have to see how the motor lasts. Get atleast 2 6. Ah high output batteries and a rapid charger. You can easily do a single bay garage or room with 1 and still have juice. I have the double rapid charger and several other batteries. Curious how the 8 ah and 12 ah perform. Also if you need to convince your wife, of the expense, just show her the extension wand and how the attachments pivot and she'll be sold. Also highly recommend the airtip attachments from milwaukee as they have a magnet that stops metal from being sucked up among several extremely useful attachments. After buying vacuum I went back and spent $150 just on airtips. Wished they sold kits that had more of a variety, instead of buying certain ones individually.Inkaddictest1994

I really like the portability and suction of this vac, the one thing I don't like is the hose design. I don't understand why the interior hole for suction is wider than the second hole inside the hose? What this does is plug the hose so you're constantly poking your finger in it so everything will suck into vac. It's like traveling down a 4 lane highway then running into an accident where everything slows down. Not that good for leaves on the firewall of your car. It does better on the carpets where dirt is crumes and dust. Lost a star because off the hose design.Gonzo55

Best feature is the size and weight – so portable and light. Would be nice if the hose stretched a little farther, but then it might not store so neatly. You can't quite reach a full arm's length with it, but still quite handy. The suction seems quite adequate for a small unit (won't rival your shop vac or home vacuum, but good enough for small jobs) Battery removal and charging are easy, and dust cup emptying also easy. Haven't tried cleaning the internal filter yet. Price is higher than cheap handheld units (think DustBuster), but I think it will be much more versatile. I have a plastic wand from a discarded vacuum that will work as an extension. May get a better dusting brush, as this one has very short bristles only on one side (I like old-school brushes).SS in IA

I'm glad I bought this little portable vac. It works great in cleaning my van. I get a lot of fir tree needles on the floor mats. Using high speed setting with the brush was better that using the crevice tool for picking up fir needles. I was surprised the 2Ahr battery last a long time on high vacuum speed. I also used the battery on the Worx small blower to blow fir needles off the van and engine compartment. The blower was great for cleaning out the vacuum waste container and cleaning the vac hepa&metal filter. A great combination of tools.Harry46

The device itself is an excellent wet/dry vac. It gets the job done. However, I am also unable to find a replacement filter, as others here have posted. Craftsman, what filter is required for this unit, and where can we find them? A link to this information on the product page would be beneficial. Currently, there is no mention of it that I can find. Had my chimney cleaned during the winter and they brought a shop vac to help them clean up. Decided I should get one just have around. After using my fireplace a couple times, I decided I should clean it. Went to use the shop vac and all the ashes came out the back. I checked everything and the connects were fine. Is the filter not capable of catching these ashes???? That can't be the case…..or is it!Rell

I purchased this in Aug 2020 for my shop. I've ended up using it to assist with dust collection on my power tools, clean the last bit of standing water in the pool before winter, cleaning my car, and general cleaning in the shop. It has fantastic suction and gets the job done every time without an issue. It's weight is perfect and not too much so moving it around from my shop to anywhere is is easy to do. The cord on it is long enough that I've yet to need an extension cord in my shop to assist in reaching anywhere. I'd highly recommend this vacuum.RussThacher

Does an amazing job but is really quite heavy for a stick vac and considering previous experiences with Dyson cordless vacs–you just have to plan for it to die sooner than you'd like. This thing is HEAVY so you feel like you can skip arm day at the gym. This thing is really as big as you can possibly go cordless before it just makes sense to get a full-size or canister vacuum. I purchased this to replace my v11 that had issues with the battery staying in. The outsize + version comes with 2 batteries and the updated battery locking mechanism design shows that Dyson was listening to user complaints about previous versions of the battery. All my previous cordless Dysons died unceremoniously sooner than they should have. This Outsize+ replaced by V11 (purchased 09/2019) which replaced my 2017 V7 (purchased in 2018) , my 2016 V8 (Purchased in 2016) and my circa 2009 DC 31. I have owned 3 full-size Dyson vacuums since 2006 and all 3 are still alive and well– I would go for those over the cordless vacs, hands down IF you have the space. If you live in a smaller space or want something more portable, then the cordless vacuums are worth a look but ONLY if you also but an extended protection plan. Every cordless vacuum I've had from Dyson has died sooner than I would deem reasonable at this price point. However, if you plan in advance for the eventual demise of your pricey dirt eater…BUY the extended warranty it is worth the added expense. The laser beam thingy shows me all the dust and dirt left behind and in horrific fashion. This horrifies me to no end and I've used it only once–I seriously think there should be some sort of trigger warning to prepare you for what you might find using the laser head! The laser head will make you think you just are living in filth even if everything looks clean otherwise. This shows me dog fuzz and dust that I would rather not see, crumbs under the couch I couldn't reach and all sorts of dust I wish I could unsee. I know the point is to get things clean but this really shows you what your Roomba missed or exactly how much your fur babies shed. Not recommended to use the laser cleaning attachment under your teenager's bed (or anywhere in a child's room unless you are mentally prepared for the disgusting things kids leave behind). My kids LOVE the laser attachment for grossing out family and friends alike. I love all the other attachments for cleaning everything else and aside from feeling like I'm pumping iron every time I pick this thing up, it is my go to vacuum. Bottom line: Buy it for the convenience of a cordless vacuum that has excellent suction power but expect it to die before it should. Bonus: you also get toned biceps! Value: Very pricey especially since Dyson's cordless vacuums seem to die way too soon. Worth it IF you also have the extended warranty. Pros: Portable, massive suction for a cordless vac and–lots of accessories to clean every surface you can imagine. Cons: It will probably die too soon and it costs a whole lot compared to other cordless/stick vacuums.Jazzij2k

The Dyson Outsize+ includes almost everything that you could want with a cordless vacuum. The Outsize+ is now the third Dyson cordless I have owned (previously the 7 & 10). The jump from the 7 to the 10 was a pretty dramatic change and the change from the 10 to the Outsize+ was almost as dramatic. The 10 did a good job on carpet floors, but the Outsize+ is now comparable to a regular plugin vacuum. The laser fluffy head cleaner is one of the coolest features on the vacuum. It shines a laser light in front of the vacuum, which makes it easy to see dust and dirt that you might normally miss. However, since my house is a mixture of hard floor and carpet, I will probably use the standard MotorBar head most of the time. The MotorBar says that it is designed in a way to prevent hair tangling. I haven't had the vacuum long enough to test if that is true, but I am hopeful. Aside from the two large heads, the vacuum comes with a bunch of specialty heads that work for various purposes. I found that the Hair Screw Head works well for cleaning car carpet mats. I wish they provided examples of the best use case to use on some of the other heads, because I am not entirely sure when to use one vs the other. The vacuum comes with a mount that you can attach to the wall, and you can directly attach two of these smaller heads to the mount. The rest need to be stored in a separate location (I do wish they provided a mount that had a space for all the included heads). The vacuum also comes with not one, but two batteries. These batteries are not just standard batteries but long-life batteries. They advertise that one battery can last up to 60 mins on a full charge. Unfortunately, while these batteries allow the vacuum to have a great run time, they also make the vacuum very heavy. I think some people will have a hard time trying to use the vacuum to clean things above the floor. I wish instead of two long life batteries, there was a shorter but much lighter battery included with the unit. Overall, the Outsize+ is a great vacuum. The long-life batteries are great if you have a large home. However, the extra weight of the Outsize+ may be a turn off for some people. I would have preferred to sacrifice some runtime for a lighter weight. I also wish Dyson would offer a hold function so you don’t have to keep your finger on the trigger to keep it active.MikeyJFla

I am new to this type of vacuums. The technology seems amazing and super friendly for households since it packs a tremendous succión power with a pleasant low noise environment and easy handling. The design and functionality of all the attachments and main unit is truly revolutionary. For all that, the high price (compared to similar equipment from other brands) is somehow tolerable. Seriously, paying over a thousand dollars for a vacuum is a decision not taken lightly. But when you see the results from that first time tests, a sense of relief comes to you. The downside here is that you are paying a premium on the technology itself but not on the product overall. This vacuum is constructed with the cheapest possible plastic material Dyson could find out in China. It is scary manipulating the unit with the sensation that a wrong turn or an accidental fall from the hands will break this vacuum in thousand pieces. Honestly, I do not see the usability of this product (based on the quality of the material) beyond 2-3 years if left in a high temperature garage, or exposed to the elements in your back porche or if it is not handled with extreme care, which I don’t think should be a factor when using a vacuum cleaning. In a fair comparison with another premium product like Kirby (similar usability, functionality, and price) I prefer by far this Dyson unit, admitting, however, that it is very likely, that Dayton Outside Absolute (for awesome it is) will not last the 10 years that Kirby has given me without a single problem with the same results (although the noise, the heavy weight, the outdated look and the lack of cool technology where Dyson shines as a King)OG4Delta

I have had a Hoover Windtunnel since 2012 and love it. This vacuum is terrible. It has good suction but………When it is in the Upright position so you can use the attachments the roller brush does not shut off. It ruins your carpet! It actually was smelling like something was burning. I think the belt was slipping. Bad engineering to not have the roller brush shut off in the upright position. What kind of idiot would say yes to a design like this? Our Windtunnel shuts off in the upright position. Tried to call Hoover….was told they were closed on a Thursday, I Was told in a recording to go online which I did but chat said they were closed and to call them. PING PONG affect going on here. DUMB….. Then on Friday was on hold 2 hrs before it cut me off. Called back, pressed the prompt for a call back and never got one the entire day and still no call back. Today is Monday called again and again We are closed after going through all the prompts to wait for an agent. Went online to chat and actually got someone named Honey B who was a bit rude saying we are open, just busy. So there is a difference of being closed and saying busy hang on….. Then when I told about the problem we had I was told to talk to who makes our carpet. Pass the buck Hoover on poor engineering huh????. You should never have a vacuum that the brush spins and spins when it's in one place. This vacuum was made to use attachments so put the rollers into idle please while using them. You will wear out your carpet and wear out your vacuum belt. Hoover will try everything I'm sure to cover our damaged carpet….SO BUYER beware. FORGET this vacuum. Its junk. PLUS the dial to lift the vacuum head up really does nothing. It's a joke. And when emptying the canister, it fell off the hinges. Seriously, I will never recommend Hoover again. They have gone down hill..You do get what you pay for. And this one is best left on the shelf.Larry59

I grew up using Hoover products and have used them my entire adult life. I researched all brands/models before replacing our older Hoover. We decided on this vacuum due to having three cats and it's excellent reviews. The first time I vacuumed with it, I loved it. I actually still love it's vacuuming capabilities (after using it a month). The fault with this product lies in the fact that as soon as you turn on the vacuum, the brush turns at a very high speed (while vacuum is still in upright position) and the brush doesn't stop until you turn off the vacuum, regardless of floor setting or if you are using the upholstery/stair attachments. I've never had a vacuum like this before and being that it's specifically designed for pet owners, the fact that the brush turns when the upholstery attachments are in use baffles me. While trying to vacuum our couch the brush actually wore on our carpet and heated it to the point of melting after less than a minute. I tried manipulating the vacuum and leaning it back off the carpet while using the attachment but that is just way too much effort. We tried it on all floor settings including hard floor with the same results. Honestly, the brush shouldn't turn until the handle is released for vacuuming so I'm not exactly sure why it was made this way. I returned it thinking I had a faulty vacuum and exchanged it for the same model (it does vacuum really well), and the second vacuum did the same, so I must assume it's simply a design flaw. So if your pet's don't shed on furniture or stairs I recommend this model, otherwise It pains me to say that I don't recommend it.Cat mom of three

Well, it seems to do ok but there are some things that make me wonder why they were designed the way they were. The on switch should be up at the top of the handle instead of being a foot switch where the reclining lever used to be for something like 100 years of Hoover vacuums. To recline the handle now requires I reach around with my foot and step on the front of the machine while forcing the handle down. It's very awkward and silly to change a design that worked for a century. And the rug height adjustment is a little touchy. I set it around medium and started vacuuming a very low rug and didn't know the belt was slipping until I smelled rubber burning. Oops. Once I learned to dial the height properly the vacuum does a pretty good job of cleaning pet hair and dirt from carpet. I had been vacuuming with a shop vac and thought my rugs were fairly clean, but the Hoover with the spinning brushes managed to pull out a lot more dirt that I missed. Emptying the canister is straightforward. I take it outside and blow it with a leaf blower. I can't imagine getting it sufficiently clean any other way without using water. Overall it's a marvel of engineering that performs its job very well, but with a couple very obvious design blunders that renders it a bit awkward to use.Randal
