20 Best Vacuum For Garage Floor (Jan 2023 Update)

Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

I have an older, corded Dyson which is still a workhorse. But since it is quite heavy and I am older, I can no longer easily carry it up and down stairs. So this corded one now stays upstairs which is carpeted, and the V12 Detect Slim is perfect for downstairs which is all tile/hardwood. I have 2 very fluffy cats which shed a lot – constantly – and will sometimes scatter litter when covering their waste. I tried another stick vacuum which was great for about a year, but then started dropping the litter back down and out onto the floor again so this was frustrating and useless. Back to Dyson and so far so very good. The one small feature that helped me finally make the choice of the V12 Detect Slim is the "on/off" button over the trigger in the other models. I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and the trigger would probably not be comfortable for me. I also love the laser attachment to find all the litter scatter pieces that are not easily seen but certainly are felt by bare feet. I've only had this vacuum for a short while and have not tried all of the attachments yet but am hopeful that my furniture will be cleaner of cat hair just as my floors seem to be. Yes, the dust bin is small, but it's so easy to detach and empty I don't find that to be an issue for me. As long as the V12 Detect slim keeps holding the litter in this bin, I will keep singing its praises. I also bought the standing Dok and love this. Would just like a holder of some sort to attach to the stand for holding more of the attachments. So, considering how well my older, corded vacuum has performed and continues to perform, I'm hopeful for similar performance from the V12 Detect Slim.SueD12

I was very excited to get the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, especially since I have had such great experiences with other Dyson products. Packaging and assembly with a breeze pretty self explanatory. I was impressed from the start with how lite it was, which made is very convenient for the stairs in our house. It was easy enough for the kids to carry around and use too, which is always a plus! I found it fairly easy to use for over head tasks too. I liked that it only has a single button power control. The LCD screen is probably my favorite feature. It shows you what has been lifted on the different surfaces, it is clear and easy to understand. In fact at one point it wasn’t functioning properly and the LCD screen told me what the problem was right away and I was able to fix it right away. I love that I didn’t have to trouble shoot it and take the whole thing apart to figure out the problem. It came with some neat attachments, the fluffy yellow and purple roller that is perfect for our wooden and tile floors, it had no problem fitting under our dining table and coffee table, this saved me time from having to move the furniture around. It comes with a wall dock that provides a way to easily store all the components while charging it as well. It included a neat hair screw tool, the allows you to pick up pet hair making pet spaces easy and fast to keep clean. They have a new design on the motorbar which helps to detangle long hair, eliminating the need for me to take it apart to cut out tangled hair like I have had to with other vacuums. You can select from the three cleaning modes depending on what job you are tackling. The waste bin is super easy to empty, simply point it in the trash can and push the lever to release the dirt. It is quick and straight to the point and I didn’t have to tough anything so my hands never got dirty. I love that it gives you 60 minutes of charge unlike previous machines that gave my around 20 minutes, also I found that the battery did a great job of holding the charge even when it was not in use or plugged in. The only “con” I would say I found was that if you doing a bigger job like cleaning more that a few rooms at a time, you have to stop and empty out the bin more often perhaps because it is a smaller unit but if you don’t mind that it really isn’t an issue. I have 3 (now 4) Dyson vacuums, I have the Airwrap and it is so awesome I wanted to try their other products. I purchased my first used D6 from eBay, I wanted to try one to see if it worked as well as it was claimed. I liked it but wanted a newer so I gave that one to my son and saved up and went with the V10 model (which I still have and still love), I then purchased the canister (refurbished) for deep cleaning items like furniture because the V10 would only go about 30 minutes and that was frustrating to me. I wanted something with a swappable battery but did not want to spend another $600 so when the small one (Omni Glide) came out I got it from Best Buy and found some extra attachments on ebay for it (mini motorized tool) and that one was excellent for day to day and my car, the battery lasts forever and is swappable, but I never needed a second for that one. My daughter borrowed it (she cleans houses) and she loved it so I let her keep it and found this one, which is in the middle of the 2 I have. I think the laser might send my OCD into overdrive because it showed everything on the floor when it looks clean without it. It is crazy how much dust it shows. I am glad I can turn it off if I choose, but I have not done that. IMO this is the best of the 5 I have tried. The battery seems to last, but it is swappable so when they are available I will be buying an extra. But so far I am using eco mode mostly and the battery lasts longer than I expected. The suction even on eco is better than my D10, my D10 does not suck up the throw rugs, but this one does. I wish I could adjust the suction to lower for this reason but all around this is a great cordless. I like the power switch because it makes it easier when using some of the attachments, not having to hold the trigger, but I am torn as I also like the trigger switch and miss it a little.M00nbeam

I bought this Oreck XL Commercial floor sweeper as a brand-new backup unit for an existing Oreck Xl home vac that I bought back in the 1990's. The original one still works just fine and the only maintenance it has ever required, other than bag changes, was a single drive belt replacement. The Oreck XL is a workhorse floor/carpet sweeper! And, the best part is that I recently got this brand-new one for $200, which is less than half of the price I paid for my original Oreck XL, back in the 1990's. The Oreck XL Commercial vacuum is light in weight (8 pounds). The low profile makes it incredibly easy to slide underneath a bed (you can even store it under there, between uses). It has a very comfortable ergonomically-designed handle with readily accessible on/off control switch. Each vacuum bag is top-loading and holds an incredible amount of debris. The filter bag is easy to change, is reasonably priced, and prevents any sneeze-producing dust from ever escaping the vac during use.vintage-connections

5/15/19 I did a lot of research before I chose to get one of these. I found out that the motor is only a 4 amp motor and I wondered if that was going to be powerful enough to do a good job. (I knew the motor was very long lasting.). I figured that because the discharge bag downstream of the motor was so much larger then comprable vacuums, that there would not be much back pressure on the motor and so by design, you probably don't need such a powerful motor. I also figured, that if you design a vacuum cleaner right, why would you need a 10 11 12 amp motor? I like the fact that it had a good quality cord that you didn't have to bend over to wrap the cord up it had a big bag so you didn't have to constantly buy bags did it was durable, because it is what janitors use and hotels across the country. I also know that my carpet was not a shag carpet it was a lower carpet and it was a hardwood floor. So I figured I would buy it from Walmart and try it and if I don't like it I can get my money back. WOW!!! I am so impressed with this machine! It picks up like you would not believe everything and I love the fact that you don't need a motor that is so powerful it belongs on a saw to cut wood. I love not having all these gadget cheap accessories that falling off all the time. I love being able to get underneath stuff. I love the lightweight. I love the switch on the handle in case I suck up a sock or shoelace. so that I can shut the motor off before I burn up a belt. I love the fact there's a spare belt underneath. I love the heavy-duty cushioning around the motor housing. And I really like the way the brushes are set up the beater bars very well-designed very simple very rugged very durable. (I believe in keep it simple KISS.)! So what if it's a tad noisy. And the negative review the guy posted about not being able to get us handle tight……well…… Some people are just not the least bit mechanically inclined. I like it better than my Bissell, KenmoreJay

Our Princess vacuum just died. We have always had problems finding bags for it anyway… We received a used Oreck as a gift many years ago and it still runs and cleans super. We still wanted a second vacuum on the top level. Well, that was a no brainer. The Oreck is very lite and easy to maneuver. Best vacuum cleaning we have ever seen.Brian

I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.swemoney

I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. Make sure you youse warm-hot water with or without solution since will tackle the dirt better. I’m happy with the product and it really saves me a lot of time and does a great job!!!Denisik91

I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

This is a great little vacuum. Perfectly suited for contractors not wanting to always carry a full size shop vac. It will also do most of the tasks a DIYer or home owner would ever need without having another cord to trip over. I barely reach for my full size corded vac these days and this thing is great for a quick cleaning of your vehicle. I have only ran it with 5 Ah batteries, and it doesn’t kill them too fast. Only complaint I have is I wish DeWalt would start selling filter bags for it, as it does clog the small filter rapidly, especially if you’re sucking up drywall dust or other smaller particulates. A handy tool to have to quickly clean up projects without pulling out corded vac. Suction power adaquate for dust and small items. Can use for quick clean of car. Unfortunately it has died after a few years of nonprofessional use. Unit runs and pushes air but has no / little suction power. At $159 you have to question the value if you only get 3 years from it. Very handy for doing a quick cleanup without breaking out the big shop vac. Enough power to pick up wood and steel chips, general small debris and similar items. Good for quick clean up of compound miter saw and / or table saw when done for the day. Previous experience with similar vacuum was the Milwaukee equivalent. I’ve been using this WetVac every-other-day for four weeks now. Bare with me, this is probably the longest review in the history of online shopping – But I’m hoping this will share helpful information to those considering a purchase. I’ll start with my overall feelings – Yes, this is 100% worth the small investment. Our house is on the smaller side, 1200sq ft, 2 adults, a messy 6 year old, a baby in the crawling stage, and 2 dogs. Prior to this WetVac, I used disposable mopping pads three or four times a week on top of my daily sweeping, but our vinyl plank floors never felt fully clean, and our baby’s brown-kneed footie pajamas would speak to that. The first time I used this WetVac, I swept immediately before use. To say I was disgusted – “Had my husband dump it” kind of disgusted – The water in the dirty water tank was embarrassing. Not just that, there was a ton of dog hair and I had JUST swept. I had used our disposable mopping pads the day before. Clearly, they weren’t cutting it. Once the floor dried, I filled the clean water tank back up and cleaned again, then once more. On clean #3, the water was just a light grey. I am able to get through 1,200sq ft in about 15 minutes. When I say there is ZERO elbow grease required, I mean it. The wet brush really scrubs, but doesn’t scuff your floor even with the harder bristles mixed in. The water sprayer doesn’t dump water, there’s a gentle mist and it puts off just enough solution to dampen the floor for a thorough clean. My favorite part is – Our baby’s pajama knees no longer turn brown. I do have some pointers and other things to share, though: 1) Yes, you’re going to save a ton of time during the initial cleaning – However DO expect to invest some time to care for your WetVac: – The self-clean is a MUST after every use. If you have pets or particularly dirty floors, run the cycle twice or three times. I’ve noticed that after 1 self-clean cycle, there’s still some dog hair stuck to the brush. It takes nothing to run it a few times, as long as your clean water tank is full and your dirty water tank isn’t too full. – Do NOT leave the dirty water tank closed for more than a day. We went away for a 3-day weekend. I had drained the tanks before leaving, but there was a gross musty smell when I started using it the next morning. It was coming from the brush and the dirty water tank. What I have started doing to avoid this, is I take the dirty water tank apart, take the brush out, and let them dry on our porch after use. I haven’t had the musty smell since. – If you’re planning to use this as a normal vacuum, I’ll warn you that the brush is not clean-out friendly. You’re going to have to clean hair, strings, you name it – off the brush. Truthfully, I used ours as a regular vacuum once to see how it worked in our 1 carpeted room, and I threw the brush right away. I’ll never use it as a regular vacuum again. 2) If you bump into furniture while using the WetVac feature, it can pop off the brush cover. – If you bump into something, push the cover down with your foot to re-secure it. Otherwise, it can fall off and you’ll get sprayed with water. Fun times. 3) I might be overthinking this, but I’m hoping my battery isn’t weakening. – I’ve realized, I was able to get my floors done with about 75% left of charge left at first. Now, I have 66-68% left after a clean for the same Sq Ft. I’m hoping my battery isn’t weakening, I’ll report back eventually. 4) The “dirty water tank” sensor. – I’m not sure if it’s a faulty sensor, though I always start with a clean and dry tank and sponge. It tells me 3 or 4 times to clean the dirty water tank and sponge, even though they’re still empty. It’s annoying but not a deal-breaker. Overall, there’s a few quirks as expected. But I will tell you, I’ll never go back to disposable mopping pads. This was a game changer for this ever-busy mama and I am truly pleased with the job it does cleaning our floors.Lauren7

I love this WetVac. It has made my life so much easier, because now I don't need to sweep then mop. I love how it has a trigger to let the water out, so if you don't need to mop a certain area, you can just vacuum it. I also really love that it has a high and Lo setting. I really love that it has a self cleaning feature. I also really love that it tells you the percentage of the battery that is left. The only thing I did not like about this vacuum was the cord that goes from the outlet to the base is not very long. I wish it was just a little bit longer. Overall this is a great Vacuum and I would highly recommend it.cutegene

Great, except for the fact that it is smelly. It redistribute the dirty air into the room. One has to fully open the windows before use. Also, the large nozzle just dropped on the floor and broke. Now, I have to find a replacement. I was snapped into place, but now I can no longer snap it back in. The flap that holds it in place is in flimsy plastic.SSL-ADT

I've only had this vac for a few days now but I put it to good use cleaning my shop. So far I'm pleased with the performance of the machine. It has good suction, I like the tool caddy that mounts right on the vac for easy access to the accessories, and good capacity for dust and dirt. The two negatives I have for the vac is the power cord is a bit short and the vacuumn hose as well. Other than those two items I like my purchase and think it's a fair value for the price.rb1995

I've had this for over two years and used it around the house and for the car. Its a great unit – sucks well and is not too big. I love the storage for the extensions. Canadians be aware: if you want to get the hepa filter cartridge for this, it is almost impossible to find in Canada. Rona / Lowes doesnt sell it – I mean why would they support a product they sell?? I waited a for a year for the 'big online retailer' to get it in stock. In the meantime I called every supplier I could find and nobody had the hepa filter in Canada. Might not be an issue if you dont need any upgrades – but it just shows that Dewalt doesnt provide much support in Canada for this product. My other complaint is that the tool end of the hose is 1-7/8 inch. This is a rarer size – so if you ever want to hook this up to more standard sized dust collection ports (e.g. 2-1/2 inch) you will spend a lot of time or money trying to find an adapter that works correctly. Or you'll be using a bunch of duct tape. I tried many parts from big box stores – I eventually gave up and 3d printed the adapter that I needed. Overall I like the vac – its sturdy, has good power, and works well. I bought it on sale thinking it was a great 'deal'. Yet I've spent more time and money on getting this to work with other things than I should have to. Next time I'm buying a brand that has parts readily available, uses more common standards, and backed by local stores for parts.WoodyBwoi

I LOVE DYSON. It’s been a love affair for @15 or so years. I had the V-6 and made an excuse that college child needed so I could get the V-11animal. No one in my house were allowed to use. It WAS my baby – empty nester at the time. I bought it shortly after it first came out so it has the screwed in battery. I needed a cordless vacuum that was able to pick up Belgian Malinois Shepard fur from H _ _ _, easy to use, lighter than a full vacuum BUT WORK AS WELL OR BETTER than a full-size – I have chronic back pain and fibromyalgia and numbness… Yes in my crazy perfect vacuum dream world this existed and it DID! Thanks Dyson! It checked EVERY box of my needs, well except price. It was the most I have ever spent on something for me but dang it I deserved it and NEEDED it. It has been absolutely incredible! I would have told you 2 years ago do whatever you need to and buy bc it has incredible suction, awesome holders for tools with wall mount and on pole, adjustable suction on torque floor tool, adjust able power – Eco for low dirt area, Auto and Boost for deeper and stronger suction. So those are PROS. CONS are you need to press trigger to power it so with my neuropathy in hands at times I cannot vac, need to remove any attachments to empty dirt bin, after @8-12 months the bin empty slide started to stick, and then at 2 years (WARRANTY EXPIRED) and @5 months it started to shut off and then turn on. Called customer support and and they did a video troubleshoot and said it’s the battery. Well no battery in stock. Actually ABSOLUTELY ZERO SPARE PARTS for my baby have been in stock for over a month now! A week or so later it stopped more and then shut down. Called again and told it was the cyclone part (a guy on YouTube had same exact issue but his warranty was still active) BUT NO PART available. He told me to call or go to my nearest Dyson service center. Well the nearest in @1.25hrs. away. I do not have a car – getting divorced so I took my Dyson V11 animal and he got our 25 y/o car worth about the same. He fought for my V11 which was honestly a no win – I don’t know what he was thinking. Lol Plus the service center when I finally reached a person said that maybe it’s the trigger and I could mail it in. I still haven’t decided bc why pay to ship something that there’s no parts for? I rarely ever leave reviews but this thing is great! This is my first Dyson purchase and I have a German Shepard mix who sheds constantly, this V11 handles his hair with ease. I love the flexibility to use it anywhere with the attachments that are included, my personal favorite is the mini motorized tool. The simple design makes it easy to clean and maintenance. This thing picks up dirt that you don’t even see, especially in carpets and area rugs. I am also one who cares about packaging and this thing is packaged perfectly. The only downside, like all electronics is the battery life. 5 to 6 minutes on boost mode is not enough for a vacuum of this cost. I would like to see Dyson sell an additional king power cord that can be used to power the vacuum directly more like a traditional vacuum if needed for those of us with bigger houses with lots of carpeted areas.Jxustin

After reading these reviews I can't help but think that these machines are designed to last for roughly 2.5 years. My machine did the exact same thing that others have written about. I purchased this machine back in January 2020, about a month ago it started cutting off during use. The cutting off started getting more frequently to the point where the machine stays on for about 2 seconds before cutting off which makes it inoperable. So I call the service center to be told that my machine is out of warranty as of January 2022 and a replacement motor will cost $116. It is really unfortunate that a $700 machine is designed to last 2.5 years before you have to put more money into it. The sad part about it is that most people will pay the $116 because you can not get a new decent vac for that price and secondly, you have already invested $700 in this machine. I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. I just purchased this product and have used it one time. Set up was a breeze and it charged quickly. The vacuum works very well. I have Pergo floors in light oak, so they don't show dust, but do show dirt and debris. The vacuum had no problem with any of it, including onion skin. The mop part works well as a cleaner. I have some dried on liquids it would not remove, but neither would my Swiffer, which this replaces. But the problem is, the cleaning fluid, once dry, leaves a filmy residue that dulls the Pergo. Under the right lighting, you can see where the liquid was and where it wasn't. I tried buffing it to no avail. It remains to be seen if walking on the floor with buff it out. So as a vacuum and mop, it works. But that residue from the cleaning fluid is barely acceptable. Your results may be different. But I'll be keeping it because if does the job and I will use it more often just for the vacuum. I may forego the mop.lochnez49

I got this in hopes of making it easier to clean my floors with something that is an all in one. But I will be returning it. It is nothing more than a glorified swiffer. The pads are disposable. You even need a pad to do the vacuuming and you can only vacuum in one direction because that's where the suction is. So it takes twice as long. Then the pad is extremely dirty afterwards and you're supposedly supposed to use the same one. Why would I use the dirty pad to then mop with? I wouldn't. So I had to use a new one. Once that pad is wet it begins to flop around and you have to apply pressure to get it to stay in place while mopping. Applying more pressure and holding the vacmop a certain way will in turn cause back pain. The compartment for the liquid also does not come off. So you need something to use in order to pour the water into it. Just bad overall execution on this. I would not recommend and I will be returning. I bought the mop system from my shop club which has reusable pads. Yes I will have to sweep or use my regular vacuum beforehand, but it will still take less time than fighting with the vacmop.Mindy Burnette

We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. If you pause during vacuuming to pick something up etc. the thing may fall down while leaning against the wall. Takes a bit of experience to get the perfect, no-fall lean figured out.jessica.b

Ordered this bundle for such a great deal! Unfortunately, the item was delivered to the wrong address by FedEx. Totally not Hoover's fault. They re-shipped another bundle to me, and it worked out well the second time. I love these vacuums! They do a great job on our hardwoods and rugs and carpet. Our two year old loves to help vacuum too – that's how light the stick vacuum is! Being cordless is such a plus!!! Only wish that the batteries weren't so expensive, but that's not a huge deal. We purchased one extra battery just so both the handheld and stick have their own batteries. I will say that the handheld is far inferior to the stick, but it works for what we need (to do the stairs and our cars) – just have to go over the same areas multiple times, as the suction isn't stellar. I bought this cordless vac because I like any conveniences I can get when it comes to house work. I use my floor cleaners more often when cordless. I can glady skip wrapping/unwrapping, plugging/unplugging cords in and out of electrical outlets from room to room. I've been happy with this cordless since I got it last July (not quite one year old). It was an upgrade overall from what I had. However the hose got a hole in it not about 6-7 months in. Not from anything I could figure out. I duct taped it and after a second hole, I contacted the Manufacturer, since it's still within a 3 year warranty. They said the hose is not made anymore – already out of making the parts??? They will replace it — okay, — but I have to mail the whole vac back on my dime. They will pay for the shipment of the new unit. Which may be kinda fair, but it's too soon for this type of episode with a not quite a year old vacuum. Since the parts are not being made – there's no commitment to this product by the mfr. I did not buy at this store, but thought I would let someone know if considering — please don't do it.Chickee

I was going back and forth between this and the shark navigator cordless. They seemed pretty even on reviews. I mostly decided on this because it's was on sale on the Hoover website! I had to wait a little longer to get it then I would from other sites(about 5 days from the day I ordered it) but it was worth the price difference for sure. I was worried about it as I have 4 dogs. A great dane(high shedder short hair), a Mini Aussie( How shedder clumpy hair), a King Shepherd(high shedder clumpy long hair) and a Cheweenie(high shedder short hair. I also have a maine coon cat. So, I essentially have lots of hair everywhere, all the time. I do NOT know how this performs on carpers because I bought it for my wood floors( bathrooms(2), hallway, entryway, dining room, and kitchen.) So far it has worked great for me. I have had ZERO clog issues despite the amount of hair it has to pick up and I have been able to vacuum all the above mentioned rooms in one swoop without the battery going dead. It picks everything up easily. I actually accidentally sucked up a good size piece of paper today and really though it would cause my first clog, but atlas it didn't. So far this vacuum is performing perfectly for me. I think the only downside I can think of as of now is the fact that a replacement battery is 100$. However, there are off brand batteries other places that are compatible with this vacuum for half the price, and the reviews on them state that they actually work better than the original hoover battery… So, I will probably just go that route whenever I need a new battery. If you want a cordless for wood (or any non carpeted) floors, this one is definitely recommended. And it does hold up against that pet hair!Ameri5

I don't understand why this vacuum has such high reviews. I bought this for small jobs around the boat and after a year of use it's still frustrating every time I try to use it. It just doesn't suck! It has far less suction than even my cheap household vacuum. I've tried clean bags, clean filters, even testing with no filter, and it just doesn't move enough air to work effectively. But at least it's very loud, so at least you can feel like it's working hard. I'll also add that the hose is not a common size, so it's hard to buy accessories, like a high quality brush attachment (the Rigid option is very poor quality, cheap bristles and cheap hard plastic that tends to scratch the surface). Very disappointed, especially compared to my older, larger Rigid vacuum which works great.Cough

I bought this as an impulse and wow is it ever a good vacuum. It works better than those big vacuums at the car wash, which I feel like is saying a lot. I really like the nozzle, too. The suction powered dust pan is really a unique feature. Works very well and is a great idea. I don’t own Ridgid tools at all, but this vacuum made me an instant fan of your vacuums! The vacuum cleaner works great. It did not come with batteries or charger. I purchased the charger at home depot and ordered 2 OEM Ridgid batteries online from Amazon. I called to register the lifetime warranty only to find out that Ridgid will not honor the lifetime warranty as they advertise. Evidently the the vendor that sells the batteries is not an approved vendor for Ridgid. End result I paid a lot of money for the vacuum cleaner, charger and 2 batteries. Not worth that much money. I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.swemoney

I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. Make sure you youse warm-hot water with or without solution since will tackle the dirt better. I’m happy with the product and it really saves me a lot of time and does a great job!!!Denisik91

I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

I have long appreciated the quality of Milwaukee tools. I have several M18 cordless tools, with full intention of purchasing more, whether replacing a different brand of tool that has worn out, or I need a new tool altogether. I have never questioned buying anything Milwaukee, and was extremely surprised to see all the negative reviews of this vacuum. I thought, surely, these people are being too demanding or have unrealistic expectations. I was wrong. This is the worst tool purchase I have made in years, of any brand. Other reviews mentioned poor suction. My experience? I could probably suck harder with a hose to my mouth. Other reviews mentioned filters are quick to plug up. My experience? I vacuumed one bay in my 2-car garage before losing all suction and the filter light came on. I had to clean the filter and foam prefilter twice to finish vacuuming the other bay, and again a third time when I was done. This was also after sweeping the bays first, so much of the debris was picked up before vacuuming. It immediately reached a point where if I want to use this vacuum, I spend more time cleaning filters than I do actually vacuuming. Other reviews mentioned poor battery life. My experience? While using the exact same battery, I get significantly longer runtime from my string trimmer or chainsaw, both of which have large motors and substantial workloads. It baffles me how this tool can burn up a battery so quickly when all it's running is a fan. I will be reaching out to Milwaukee about this vacuum. I am extremely disappointed in this tool's performance and have no intention of keeping it. I'd rather lug my 15-gallon wet/dry vac around the shop. It's cumbersome and inconvenient, but at least it works.CodyM

This is actually a very powerful and quality vacuum (More on this later). Unfortunately, I think they dropped the ball when it comes to the main reason why most people are buying this vacuum, the Powerhead brush. The brush is at a "fixed" height for hard floors or very flat outdoor type carpet only. When you use the brush on indoor carpet, and even throw rugs, the lack of space and powerful suction will cause the carpet to actually lift up under brush and cause everything to bog down and make it hard to move. Either, they forgot to add a height adjustment (not likely), or they knew the .25 gallon capacity was going to fill up too fast on full carpet which holds much more dirt. Either way, it would be nice to hear why they made it a fixed height. Not to worry though people, just add 3M felt pads on the front corners and it will end up being a perfect height for most carpet (picture). As a test, I did try this vac on a 200 sqft room with thick carpet and 2 (bad shedding) dogs. After just vacuuming that one room, not only did the canister totally fill up but the inner cleanout did as well. As far as the unit itself goes, it does have much more suction than the M18 wet/dry vac, the power brush is very powerful, the 5.0 battery lasts about 8-10 minutes, they do use real ball bearing assemblies not plastic bushings (picture), the filter is on the smaller side (picture), easy access internal cleanout (picture), and it is made in Vietnam not China.Xphobe

My wife was in the market for a cordless vac. This time of year the cluster flies and lady bugs are looking for a winter home which drives her to crazyland. Instead of dragging the vac upstairs/downstairs she started looking for a cordless vac for ease of use. She looked at a few other brands and I then suggested she look at the Milwaukee brand given I had multiple batteries/chargers for other M18 tools I own. She checked out the weight of it at the store and said it would be fine. It was quite a bit more expensive than the other brands but given we got a free battery with the purchase I logged it as a win/win. Plus I don't need to manage a different set of batteries. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. Make sure you youse warm-hot water with or without solution since will tackle the dirt better. I’m happy with the product and it really saves me a lot of time and does a great job!!!Denisik91

I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

Moved from Sweden to US a few months ago and was annoyed with the traditional vacuum cleaner we had here, having having to maneuver a heavy and loud motor and not being able to reach underneath furniture. Was driving me crazy and it felt like it was blowing out more dust than it picked up. The Tritan vacuum is very efficient and I was actually surprised by the high quality and power of the motor considering this is not a very expensive machine. It really does the job and with the included attachments it works for any cleaning need. The only downside to it is that I would have liked the electric cord to be a bit longer for better range, but it works well anyway. Many years ago there was a Swedish brand of Vacuum cleaners called "Elektrolux" and they had a slogan "Nothing sucks like an Elektrolux". I would change that now to "Nothing sucks like a Prolux". 🙂Anthony76

I really wanted to love this vacuum, but will have to return it, in spite of the suction being awesome. The suction is as good or better than my Shark vacuums. I needed a good HEPA canister vacuum that would work well on my hard surface floors, window shades/blinds and walls/ceilings. I was disappointed to find that even though there is a HEPA filter, the bags are not HEPA bags. I haven't determined, yet,if the vacuum is sealed well enough, to avoid dispersing dust back into the room. Additionally, the bristles on the hard floor brush are so stiff and scratchy, I am reluctant to use it on my hardwood floors. Unfortunately, none of my better attachments, from my previous vacuums, fit the Tritan. I need to be able to vacuum my walls and ceilings, but the floor brush is not suitable for that either. I would like to be able to comfortably (and safely) vacuum the tops of door frames and window shades and blinds, without using the extension tube. But , the stiff hose does not stretch and is too short to directly attach the dust brush and reach overhead, to the top of my door frames. Back to the drawing board for me, as the Tritan Canister is just not suitable for my needs.C.B.

I am 69 years old, so believe me when I tell you I have had many vacuum cleaners in my life, from a Kirby to a Miele to the less expensive uprights that just don't last. When I moved and left behind my latest upright as a gift to the buyer of my house, I had to find a new vacuum. One that would last. One that could suck up dog hair from my Australian Shepherd. One that was maneuverable and could also clean my truck's interior. When I saw the ad for the Prolux Triton I was taken by how absolutely cute it is. I love its retro looks, like a 50's space ship with chrome and a sleek shape. I love the design of the retractable cord, its maneuverability and the very very powerful motor. I now have a restored vintage house (circa 1900) which requires a strong machine to eliminate dust. I am very pleased with my Prolux Triton!!Vicki

I bought a Bissell crosswave cordless max last year for Christmas because this was sold out. Originally I wanted this I did a lot of research and thought the Tineco one was far more advanced considering they had come out at the same time. My Bissell broke and again it hasn't even been a year I did not buy the warranty for it because I thought it would at least last a year. But I decided I'd buy my original choice and I'm far from disappointed. The issues I had with the Bissell I don't with this. Bissell was bad at streaking and would leave a puddle of water behind the brush roller was so soft it wouldn't pick up dried messes larger food bits would be pushed in front of the Bissell instead of being picked up. The Tineco one is streak free has a studier brush roller that makes picks up dried messes easily it is an auto mode machine so it distributes water and detects water never leaves a puddle behind large food objects like dog kibble gets picked up easily. I have a fairly high number of animals and a senior dog who doesn't have 100% bladder control so these machines are used day in day out. I recommend this to anyone its perfect for everyday use light to heavy messes.Alysun Lusty

I chose this thanks to the Vacuum Wars youtube channel. We used to have a Bissell Crosswave but it didn't last long at all. It started to smell pretty quickly and got clogged a lot (dog hair gang!) I assumed it was our habits so we bought a second one and the same thing happened again, even with more vacuuming and better Crosswave cleaning habits. This time I decided the extra money would be worth it and so far it definitely has been! The only con so far: the clean water tank really should be larger. We have a medium house, nothing large or fancy, and we can't even get through a full room (kitchen especially) without refilling the tank.Cam

Overall: I really love it! Easy to use, quick and sufficient; Great for daily use & for family with pet. I do list detailed limitations below but it solves my biggest problem (a quick daily cleanning) so I am still happy. Pros: – Battery is sufficient for 800-900 sq.ft – Capture pet (cat) hair, dust, and small trash on floor; great for daily clean; – Its design makes it easy to move; – Less noisy compared to Roomba/regular vacuum (but still not quite; just relatively quieter) ; Limitations: – The clean water tank is kind of small; requires refill if you use max clean mode or have a slower cleanning process; For dirty water tank, it's enough for cleanning process but usually require to dump all dirty water before its self-clean (so it does not over the dirty water limit) – It has clean gap (about 3cm/1.2 in) on the edge that its brush cannot reach so cannot work for near kitchen cabinet cleanning; also its wide brush design makes it hard to go into corners near toilet; – Its brush is designed not to hurt flooring which means it also cannot do deep cleanning (e.g. clean out stains on tile grout) – Cleaning dirty water tank can be nasty if you have pet and long hair;Ali

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey
