20 Best Vacuum For Hard Wood Floors (Jan 2023 Update)

Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas

I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them – I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!Lindz02

This vacuum has the best suction and with 2 golden retrievers I need it but here are the cons It’s heavy and you have to hold in the switch to keep it running guessing this is to preserve the battery. All of the weight of the vacuum as at your wrist and hand and while 4.5 lbs doesn’t seem like much as you are holding it and the on button it is very stressful to your arm wrist and hand. When moving from hardwood to shag (I have all hardwood and two 8×10 shag type area rugs) the beater bar stops and the machine quits working even when you stop and move it to the highest setting so it won’t vacuum my area rugsI can’t even hardly push it through the carpet. I can let it and set it down and pull it. . It will do low pile rugs. Then it won’t stand up on its own you have to lean it on something or never stop vacuuming. I can get through most of my house 1400 square foot with the light before it dies or moves to eco. The head does not easily release to use just the end to get into tight spaces or replace with another attachment. The cord for the battery is actually quite short if you’re hoping to plug it in a closet or hide away place. Sleek as it may seem I don’t want a vacuum hanging up as decor so I’m going to have to add a plug somewhere out of sight. The pros are the light and suction provided you can really get every hair and see all dust if your room is not to bright the light really shows everything I turn down the lights to vacuum crazy I will definitely not buy another and totally regret this purchase for the price it really should come with two batteries and be able to vacuum carpet. I just purchased this product and have used it one time. Set up was a breeze and it charged quickly. The vacuum works very well. I have Pergo floors in light oak, so they don't show dust, but do show dirt and debris. The vacuum had no problem with any of it, including onion skin. The mop part works well as a cleaner. I have some dried on liquids it would not remove, but neither would my Swiffer, which this replaces. But the problem is, the cleaning fluid, once dry, leaves a filmy residue that dulls the Pergo. Under the right lighting, you can see where the liquid was and where it wasn't. I tried buffing it to no avail. It remains to be seen if walking on the floor with buff it out. So as a vacuum and mop, it works. But that residue from the cleaning fluid is barely acceptable. Your results may be different. But I'll be keeping it because if does the job and I will use it more often just for the vacuum. I may forego the mop.lochnez49

I got this in hopes of making it easier to clean my floors with something that is an all in one. But I will be returning it. It is nothing more than a glorified swiffer. The pads are disposable. You even need a pad to do the vacuuming and you can only vacuum in one direction because that's where the suction is. So it takes twice as long. Then the pad is extremely dirty afterwards and you're supposedly supposed to use the same one. Why would I use the dirty pad to then mop with? I wouldn't. So I had to use a new one. Once that pad is wet it begins to flop around and you have to apply pressure to get it to stay in place while mopping. Applying more pressure and holding the vacmop a certain way will in turn cause back pain. The compartment for the liquid also does not come off. So you need something to use in order to pour the water into it. Just bad overall execution on this. I would not recommend and I will be returning. I bought the mop system from my shop club which has reusable pads. Yes I will have to sweep or use my regular vacuum beforehand, but it will still take less time than fighting with the vacmop.Mindy Burnette

We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. If you pause during vacuuming to pick something up etc. the thing may fall down while leaning against the wall. Takes a bit of experience to get the perfect, no-fall lean figured out.jessica.b

I bought this vacuum in 2018 when my 1st little one arrived. It was great at picking up the crumbs. We used this daily for 2-5 minute intervals around the dinner table. After about 1.5 years the batter on it died. It's not replaceable either which means the unit is junk. I contacted B&D to do a warranty claim and they sent me a "new" replacement. Well guess what's happened again after about 1.5 years of the same use… Battery is dead AGAIN! I tried contacting B&D again and was asked multiple questions about the unit lastly being the inscribed manufactured date on the bottom of the unit. It was from 2018, meaning 1.5 years ago when the 1st vacuum died, they gave me an old, and probably refurbished unit. This date meant that I could no longer receive any type of warranty work, even though when I received the vacuum it sure wasn't in 2018… I will not be purchasing a replacement at this point and will go out of my way to no recommend this product to other.JoeBazooka

I give it 5 out of 5 over all for suction power and the ability to clean out the whole canister in the garbage with just the push of a button. You can actually clean the whole canister and filter with with soap and water let it air dry. The filter is reusable and cleans out very well. It’s unbelievable what things this vacuum actually picks up. I love LED head light lamps on the front of the vacuum you can really see the dirt and hair when the lights are on and off! The real bonus about this vacuum is the cordless feature no cords to worry about. Turn it on and go! The only negative thing that really disappoints me is the battery power only last 5 to 10 mins if your lucky this is super frustrating. I actually end up buying a new Black Decker battery for $77 off of Amazon.ca. This battery last anywhere from 20 to 30 mins longer the vacuum runs like a dream now. I got this model of Bed, Bath and Beyond website. I highly recommend not paying full price for it because what ever money left over you will need a new 20V Max Black Decker Lithium 3.0AH battery they sell on Amazon.ca. #visualeyecandy.r

I loved this vacuum. It was my birthday present and my husband and I drove down to the States to get one that was on sales there. It was easy for me to carry around and the hose helped me get into smaller place. So much better than your typical dust buster. Within a few years the battery became very weak and I only have about 20 seconds of power now. I called around and there is no battery replacement for it. There seems to be nothing else like it on the market. I'm so sad!! 🙁Spider

I was a bit worried with so many negative reviews, but I love this vacuum. It is so light and easy to carry around. It picks up everything as long as you frequently empty the filter. I also take a can of compressed air to blow the filter clean from the inside out. It is well made, and all the parts fit well. I like the floor cleaner for picking up pet hair because it has no rollers where the hair gets tangled. The blue color is beautiful, and the unit leans against the wall without falling over. The cord could be a bit longer, but I have a lot of outlets, so no problem. I am very happy with the purchase. The price was very reasonable.Nancy

The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

Just bought myself an early Christmas present, the crosswave pro pet multi surface vac/mop. Really amazing how it cleans up, you see/feel/smell the difference instantly. I have health issues so sweeping/mopping is a challenge for me and i needed an easy option that worked. I have multiple cats and this is amazing with cat fur/dried up hairballs/cat litter etc, the fact that it separates all the icky stuff from the clean water makes the biggest difference…you will be in shock how much gets ckeaned up. Now this beautiful household tool needs care in between using it but i like the finished product so much i don't mind the clean up after and still easier then sweeping and mopping with way better results, plus i just put it up on my counter for easy access for the clean up. Tips: 1) don't use with a wet filter, always put a dry filter in. 2) get a baby tooth brush to get in small crevasse. 3) sweep out corners or hard to reach spots into where it can be vacuumed because this machine cant get to them. 4) i didn't get cordless because i don't want to deal with future batterie issues (not saying it happens but more likely then a cord) put top of cord on hook as you vacuum, easier to control cord dosen't get in your way. 5) clean spray holes if needed with paper clip. 6) make sure if you are dumping dirty water or cleaning off in the sink you have a drajn catcher because pet fur and gunk gets everywhere, you'll see as you are clean everything off and dumping water out, don'twant that going down your drain. 7) go slow when spraying the water, give wet vac mop a chance to do its thing. 8) make sure everything is dry b4 you put back together so no mold or smells start to happen. Like i mentioned, if you take care of this it will continue to take care of your floors and rugs. Ps: Not paid to write this, just a regular human. I paid for my crosswave and i really love it. No love is as great as the first, as they say. I bought this last year but after taking it to a friends house and power washing and vacuuming their entire 2 bedroom apartment for 5 hours straight for 2 days in a row, i think i mightve found the breaking point of this product… Haha, so after it wouldnt turn on, i returned it. I ended up going through 3 other new vacuums and returned them all, only to repurchase this as the 5th one. As i mentioned in the previous review for the Bissell Proheat Duo Pet vacuum, this one here was the absolute perfect size for a 5'3 girl living in a small apt. Its great in smler spaces and even if the suction is not as powerful as the Proheat Duo vacuum, this one does a good enough job for the size and its ease of use cant be beat. Cleaning it is suuuuuuper easy, refilling the water is super easy, and all i gotta do is just press a maximum of 2 buttons. (Meanwhile the pro heat duo has me feeling like an airplane technician, after having to take out a bunch components to clean it which was NOT easy and having so many buttons!!!) Im a bit OCD with vacuuming my carpet all the time (every day) and im always very pleased with the carpet cleaning after i wash it. Overall its been the best model i have found for a Wet/Dry vacuum so i highly recommend if its for a 1 bedroom apt. My only gripes are that this is not easy to push!!! Also wish it could suction better when going BACKWARDS because it only suctions good moving forward but not if i pass over it backwards and if the suction would be stronger too. I've been using this product for a little over a month. My first initial reaction was that this product is just okay. A few weeks later my feelings haven't changed. First thing I noticed was that the battery life isn't great. On regular mode I can get the entire house (minus one carpeted room that's about 120 sqft or so) vacuumed and still have a some battery life left. Our house is about 1500 sqft. What I really dislike is that on the max suction mode the battery lasts about seven to 10 minutes on a full charge. I understand that it is high battery usage but on heavy cleaning and dusting days this is frustrating. After a regular vacuuming session I have to wait another five hours for this thing to fully charge just to use it another few minutes in order to get dusting done which is extremely inconvenient. If Dyson would have made it with the option to work while on the charger / still plugged in it would have made ALL of the difference. I haven't used it on the one room in our house that is carpeted and I honestly don't know if that is even possible with any of the connections. It didn't come with a user manual like all other products electronic products that I have purchased. It did have a sheet that gave you a link to an online user manual but I am more of a paper in my face type of person. I have having to click through links to find what I need. It does come with quite a few connectible pieces. I don't really know what the difference between a few of them are or what they're even called but I haven't had any issues using them so no complaints with those. The item itself is extremely convenient and easy to use. I REALLY wish that it came with maybe a retractable chord to plug in when the batter life isnt sufficient. I think for the price it's not worth it. Overall; three out of five stars, mainly because of the battery life and lack of a proper user's manual.ItsMe

I have been a Dyson owner since early 2005 (I still have that one and it still works). I was using the Dyson V7 Animal until my wife purchased this upgraded one for me. Right away, I could feel and see the difference! With 2 children, a large dog (that never stops shedding), and my wife and I, keeping our house clean is nearly impossible. The Dyson V8 Animal Pro has been amazing and extremely helpful! I only have 3 general complaints about it, which stop me from giving it a 5 Star Review. First, the container becomes full very quickly and having to empty it so often is a little annoying (I know the newer models have addressed that). Second, the stick portion is a little short for taller people like me and I don’t think that adding a second stick would function well not be practical; this causes me to have to lean over while vacuuming, which means my back starts aching. Third, a lack of accessories! There are more attachment tools for my V7 than my newer V8. More directly, there doesn’t seem to be a hard floor attachment option. I have checked their website, but there are no hard floor tools offered for this vacuum (Dyson V8 Animal Pro). I would be particularly interested in the tool that worked on both the carpet and hard floors. Other than that, I really do love this little vacuum.DaBear

This is the second Dyson I have owned. The previous one I purchased at a retailer that offered an extended warranty for purchase. The vacuum stopped working shortly after the Dyson two year warranty. The extended warranty company was great. We sent the vacuum to them and they determined they could not repair it and refunded the entire amount that we paid for the vacuum. The second one we purchased at Costco and they did not offer the extended warranty, but talked us into purchasing because they would take back if we had any problems. Well once again right after the two year Dyson warranty has expired, the vacuum is not working correctly again. Pretty sure Costco won't take back after two years, although I will also complain to them. They are a great vacuum, just a lot of expense for something that lasts only two years. I hope some of the other companies venturing into cordless stick vacuums become successful because I don't want to keep buying a vacuum that does not last.K Wood

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I'm not impressed. I'm already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience. It doesn't have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush. It's really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full. I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don't. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself. It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum. My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can't be removed. This was probably my worst "big purchase" of 2021. I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present. It has since been returned for the following reasons. It is NOT convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry. So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler's mess AND warm up and use my steam mop. Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use. I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good. It's also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it's evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section. It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it. The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap. For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs and left my floors disgusting after. 0/5 stars.Melissa

Since they haven't responded to multiple requests regarding 2 issues that make my Hydravac unusable, this review is ALL about their customer service. Their phone number instructs you to use email or chat. The chat link isn't a link, and they don't answer their emails. Buyer beware. 3 emails to support have gone unanswered. I'm left with a wet dry vac that is useless. I doubt this will get posted, but I will continue to leave these reviews wherever I can so consumers have the facts they need to make an informed decision. When your teenage kids say they want to clean, then you know you're purchase is a success and worthy of a five star review. I have used the standard broom and pumped up cleaners with pads. Name it, and I've tried it. This Hydra Clean has saved me so much time and arguments. I received it, read the instructions, charged it and put her to work as soon as it was fully charged. It is highly recommended to read the instructions to get the entire experience from the Hydra Clean. It has voice commands which are very sophisticated and techy, so it's like an interactive experience when you clean. On the upper part of the device it has icons which tell you battery life, running time, and provides the self cleaning time needed when you have to clean after moping. I have wood floors, tile and rug so I was able to use it on multiple finishes. The battery life is good for about 30 minutes. I don't mind how long it lasts because it is worth not having a cable to plug in and plug out. As a vaccum, it performed above my expectations. Usually with these types of two in one models, one feature works better than the other. We have 2 Frenchies in the house that are tan in color. You can't really see how much they shed until you actually have to clean it. The vaccum feature picked up all the hair, where with my standard broom sweeps it up but the flying of these tiny hairs are stubborn and frustrating. So I am replacing a handheld vaccum, a full size vaccum and a broom. Less clutter and cables. As a mop, score! I can mop and vaccum at the same time. That's half of my cleaning time. I've had the fancy pricy pads with a squirting feature. With those you have to be careful how much you spray, we're you spray and wait, change the pad, and repeat. With the Hydra Clean you don't have to do all that. It doesn't squirt all over the place and it dries right after you have used it in an area. You also have the control of how much water you want to use, it is not a one squirt fits all model type. I don't have to go clean a pad or wait around for my floors to dry. Before I had to barricade the area because either a dog or a human messed it up. It also has a timer for the self cleaning. This is a feature which I've never has before even when I had the very high priced ones. The other ones don't do this and the water gets really yucky and smelly too. With these moping features I have replaced the traditional mop and my other picker upper with pads. Overall, I'm very pleased with my Hydra Clean based on the performance and the feedback I received when my kids said they wanted to clean. I'm on my second return in three months. I love this machine… when it works. Like others have stated, after just a few uses there's a burnt smell and a grinding noise before the brush eventually stops rolling. We took both machines completely apart to thoroughly clean them, but cannot get the noise to stop. It's between the little rubber belt and the part where the roller attaches to the machine. Theres no dirt, hair, or other debris trapped. Not sure what the issue is, but I really wish they'd fix this. If you vacuum up hair, you have to clean it out pretty quickly or it will leave muddy puddles on the floor. It is a great product while it lasts. Also the battery charge could last longer, but it has bigger issues to handle, like actually out-lasting it's return policy.Kristen

I purchased this vacuum because my house has hardwood/tile floors and I have cats. The vacuum is lighter in weight than other competitors in its class. I have only used it on high suction power, but the hard floor tool picks up cat litter like no other vacuum. I can even put it up to the baseboard and it gets all the dirt. I don't need to go over the baseboards with an attachment anymore! The handle grip is very comfortable and makes vacuuming easy. Lastly, the dirt tank is small, but removes and empties very easily, making up for the size. Thank you for making an affordable product that outperforms most vacuums.Ruth

Having never used a wet vac like this before, all I can say is WOW! I admit, I was a skeptic. We regularly clean our hard floors so I really didn't expect to see any great results. That all went away after the first use. Great product. It makes scrubbing the floors a piece of cake. Starting with the overall looks. It's a really sleek machine. It's not bulky at all and allows you to get into the same places you would be able to with a normal stick vac. The white color is refreshing and adds to it's nice clean look. The charging base is as small as it can be, but even so, some might find it's footprint a bit large. But when you consider the self cleaning feature it offers, it's easy to overlook the size. The handle is very comfortable and the buttons are placed in good locations. All the indications and icons are displayed on the top of the clean water tank in easy view. They light as needed and let you know what you need to know about the state of your machine. To use the machine, you fill the clean water tank and add a cap of the included floor cleaner. When you turn the machine on, it automatically dispenses the water solution and starts the roller spinning. At the same time, it also starts the vacuum, so you basically vacuum up the water before it even soaks your floors. After using it on our laminate wood flooring in the kitchen, I just noticed a sheen after it vacuumed the water up. It was dry in about 30 seconds. If you've ever used a stick mop with a trigger spray feature, they left about the same amount of moisture. The difference was, the water that was collected in the dirty water tank was, well pretty dirty. There are two settings, a standard speed and a max speed. I tried them both but had very good luck with the standard speed so that's generally what I use. Overall, it's pretty quiet. No loud whiny beater bar, just the soft roller on the floor. The battery lasts long enough to clean our entire kitchen, hallway and front entrance area without any issues, and have power to spare. This package comes with an additional roller and HEPA filter. At first I thought they were just “extra” but the idea is, you have one set that's dry, and the set that you use to clean, so you just keep swapping them out. The roller assembly is extremely easy to remove and replace. Like both of the water tanks, it has a snap in place, spring loaded latch. The roller pretty much just pulls right out. The filter is just as easy to replace. Emptying the dirty water tank was as easy as pouring it in the sink and rinsing out any dirt left behind. To use the self clean feature, just fill the clean water tank with fresh water, make sure the dirty water tank is in place and run the cycle with the touch of a button. The package also comes with a brush tool for cleaning out the tanks, and it includes a roller hair/string removal tool. After cleaning the floors I have to say, they really felt clean. No residue or stickiness was left behind. This is a quality machine that has been very well engineered. Cordless operation, excellent battery life, self cleaning mode, easy access to the roller and removal of the water tanks. It all adds up to a great floor cleaning experience. A few years ago, we got a cordless stick vacuum for our house. We love using it in-between our robot vacuum sweeps but we still end up having to mop the kitchen floor which is linoleum. Since we’re always looking for ways to make tasks more efficient, this wet/dry vacuum seemed like a good option for our family. When you pull the vacuum out of its box, make sure to look through all the packaging because there are additional parts included and I almost threw out the extra dry filter because it was tucked away inside some cardboard. Even though assembly is required, it’s very minimal. You have to attach the handle to the main body of the vacuum, plug the base into power, and then set the unit on the stand. Once the battery is charged, you can start using it. According to the manual, these are the steps you have to take for operation. Prepare for use – includes charging the vacuum for about four hours Press the power button to start the vacuum. It’s in ECO mode by default. There is a “MAXIECO” button that switches between the MAX and ECO modes. Before using the WET function of the vacuum, fill the clean water tank and add one bottle cap of the solution. The vacuum does come with a lot of parts, but some of them are duplicates so that you have your first replacement roller and filter with the original purchase. I always like it when companies provide that first part replacement. As far as operation goes, the vacuum is fairly simple. You press the power button and it turns on. If there the cleaning solution is in the clean water tank, the vacuum will both mop and vacuum simultaneously. If the water tank is empty, the vacuum will still run, but obviously will not provide the mopping function. The roller will still spin, however, so you do get a bit of a deeper dry cleaning than without it. There are two functions that I want to point out – one that I like and one that I don’t. The first is the fact that you don’t have the option to select wet or dry. You have to use both. The only way that I’ve found to vacuum only is to leave the clean water tank empty. The problem there is that you end up with blinking lights on the display, which can get annoying. The function I LOVE is that the vacuum is self-propelled. I was shocked when I turned it on for the first time and the vacuum nearly zoomed out of my grip. I just wasn’t expecting that much power from a cordless vacuum. I haven’t run into a battery problem yet. The manual states that on ECO mode the vacuum should run for 25 minutes. I haven’t had a single cleaning session last that long yet so I don’t know the ‘real’ life of the battery. The battery did have some charge out of the box. I did charge it some before using it the first time, but not the full 4-hours. I have been happy with the suction power of the vacuum and the cleaning ability of the mop, however, I did notice that any sticky spots or heavy stains will not be picked up by this vacuum. I ran the vacuum in our kitchen – moving it back and forth several times on each section of the floor. I noticed that the floor did appear shiny and wet so I know the mopping function was cycling the cleaning solution onto the floor. The floor did dry quickly I did think that it felt a lot cleaner than before I used the vacuum. I did have a couple of spots where something had been spilled and left to dry that the vacuum did not clean up. That said, a couple of lighter stains were removed if I left the vacuum sitting on top of it so that the roller brush could concentrate on that spot. I like the features of this vacuum and its ease of use, but I do wish there were a couple of things added on (a dry/wet option, a heavy stain cleaning option, etc.). I love that a base plate is included because that gives the vacuum a spot to ‘live’ in as well as keeps the roller off the floor as it dries. All in all, I think this is a nice device. Versatile vacuum makes our 90% laminate floor cleaner that it’s ever been. We used to use those “easy” mops that have replaceable wet pads to mop our floors and they worked better than a mop and bucket but this vacuum makes it a piece of cake! The setup and operations were so simple that I thought I was missing something in the suggestions (instructions) but I wasn’t. I normally am the type of person that can pull new electronics out of the box and start using it without help but I had never used a mop/vacuum combo like this before so I read the suggestions. It is so simple, push the power button. If there is liquid in the clean water tank it will mop and vacuum. If that tank is empty it will vacuum only. When you are done just set it on the base and it charges automatically! The vacuum even cleans the brush by itself! There will be a “water drop” icon that lights up which means it needs to clean the brush. Just set it on the base and press the water drop button once and it cleans the brush for you! I am very impressed with the simplicity, power and convenience of this vacuum/mop. I love the base with self-charging so you never pick it up and find that the battery is dead. The dirty tank is very easy to empty. The unit is lightweight but feels well made. So far, this is a great product!tken106

I am disappointed with this vacuum. Pros: I love that it doesn't have a disposable bag. The suction power is great, and may be too strong (wish there was a way to adjust the suction power). The filtration seems great — no sneezing fits after vacuuming! Cons: This is an extremely noisy machine, particularly when using the wand with attachments, especially the stair tool. Stair tool is less than 5 inches wide, rendering it useless. Using the cleaner head doesn't fully vacuum dust off of hardwood floors – it seems that I will have to separately purchase the "articulating hard floor" tool to get the job done right. The wand is extremely awkward to use: the hose retracts too tightly and pulls the vacuum if you try to use it fully extended. The hose crimps and blocks the suction since it doesn't have any curvature where one's hand holds it. (I note that all promo picture show the hose extended fully straight — is it not supposed to be used at an angle?) The cleaner head is rather wide and not ideal for smaller spaces. Cleaner head with beater turned on can easily suck up fringe and edges of thin rugs, and in fact has shredded the edges of a sisal rug. This is not an ideal vacuum for those with lots of rugs and wood floors who want to try to clean both at the same time without continuously toggling back and forth between using the cleaner head and the wand. The machine feels flimsy, cheap, and wobbly. The handle always feels like it is about to twist and snap off. My 20 year old Miele is a far better vacuum in terms of design and quality.DJBklyn

So I have had this vacuum for about a year now and am sorely disappointed in the way this Dyson was created. Again I will first complain about how HEAVY it is – Seriously, if you are not strong and you have more than one level in your home, reconsider before purchasing this vacuum. Moving it up and down the stairs is a challenge – my son can't do it and my husband complains of it's weight when he has to so take that into consideration. My last Dyson was half this weight and still cleaned great. Besides the weight though, I have had so a bunch of other issues with this model – some small, some not. > There are too many points where dirt gets stuck and I have to literally take half the vacuum apart to figure out where the clog is and to fix it. This has happened to me sooooo many times and I literally have to follow the tubing to see where the issue is, sometimes it is in the wand, sometimes in the actual vacuum part and sometimes it is where the dirt goes into the dirt cabinet (or whatever it is called). I have spent so much time cleaning out my vacuum to make it work and then causing a huge mess of dirt on the floor that it causes my cleaning time to take way longer than it should. I have kids and pets so there's all kinds of small things on the floor, but I expect a vacuum of this caliber to be able to not only handle it but not require me sit down on the floor and conduct surger on my vacuum to fix the issue. > In order to use the wand I have to unwind all of the plug cable as the cable locks the wand into place on the vacuum – just not convenient. > After using the wand, trying to put it back in place is such a challenge that half the time my family won't even take the time to put it back in its place – it just doesn't want to go where it should. > When using the wand, your hand sits on the stretch tube part and as it picks things up it hits stretchy tube part right where your hand is – half the times I think that there is a hole because it feels like it really is hitting my hand but I realize there is no hole but then the rest of me wonders how long will this stretch section actually last if things are constantly hitting it in the same spot??? I bought a Dyson Vacuum in 2006. It was amazing, I couldn't believe how good a vacuum it was…a little pricey at $300 compared to competitors, but well worth the money. The suction was fantastic and the tool organization was amazing. Fast forward to 2021 and that Dyson, now 15 years old dies…and totally understandable she went thru a lot. So now, simplest fix is to buy a new Dyson…big mistake. I don't know what they have been doing since 2006, but they now make a terribly cheap vacuum, which now surprising costs even more at $499 (inflation). It is clunky, fully manufactured with the cheapest and thinnest plastics and they changed some of the impressive designs in 2006 to something much less user friendly. It truly amazes me that they could have done nothing for 15 years and would still have a vacuum way better than what they sell now. Only explanation is greed, squeeze out every penny from the Dyson name, but make a product they no is crap.Benjamin

As a mom of three, and dog owner, I was absolutely ecstatic to learn I was selected to review the CrossWave X7 Cordless Pet Pro vacuum through the Stellar Review Testing Panel. Everyday messes are definitely a regular occurrence in our home, and I'm usually left with three options: Lug out the large vacuum, and haul it from room-to-room, changing outlets every few minutes; hunch over with my dust-buster for 20 minutes (which is not kind to my neck and back); or leave the mess until later. As a neat-freak, the latter of the options is never my favorite, and I'm generally left either killing 20-30 minutes when I could be doing something more productive on top of becoming frustrated and left with a stiff neck. So, needless to say, when the option for a cordless stick vacuum (dedicated towards pets and kids), I was like a kid at Christmas. I love this product! The three settings make it easy to switch between our hardwood floors, area rugs, and there's a turbo setting that is great at getting those stubborn areas that can really use some extra attention. The product is lightweight, holds a charge (I can vacuum our entire home easily on one charge), and I've found it's a great alternative to throwing my rugs in the washing machine. We have quite a few area rugs throughout our home (all washable due to kids / pets), which is great – but they are a hassle to wash / dry, lay down properly after-the-fact. With the wet / dry function on the CrossWave, I can literally run the vacuum over my area rugs for 1-2 minutes, and when done, they look like they've just been washed. Pet hair, cereal, everyday messes are easy to clean up, and the product is easy to charge / set-up and use. If I had to review any negatives, it would be two features. First, hard to reach places (under furniture, and particularly stairs), aren't the easiest to clean. Second, the instructions point out to clean after every use (highly recommend or I've found there is an odor with use).designgal78

Just to start off this is a fantastic product. We bought some appliances so we got $400 best buy gift cards and i had a $55 certificate from best buy(which the online guy that was supposed to help us never applied still a lottle mad about that and its expired now but whatever). Did some research it was between this and the Tineco floor one S5 but we ended going with this because we do have a few rooms with carpets. The pros: .It can clean our house (roughly 2,000 sq ft) on one charge. .That turbo mode is WOW!! .Easy to maintain and clean .Very lightweight .it makes cleaning so much faster The cons: .Maybe its the formula we are using but it is extremely soapy but started using less and it works much better. .it doesnt get the carpets the best( we know ots for area rugs) but on turbo mode it will do a room full of carpet just wont pick up too much of the water but man does it pock up some stuff! .the dirty tank gets full quick The 4 star is mainly for the price of it it is a lot of money for what you get, but honestly we have no Rugrets not even one letter! We are going to order the brush specifically made for carpets and try that out and see how that works and also some little tips. . Run the clean cycle after every use . After you are done cleaning and ran the cycle and cleaned your equipment take off the roller and put it in the holder to let it dry .once a week (i tried doing it every day but its too much) do a nice deep clean of your machine if you take care of it, it will take care of you.Ivan

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review from #bzzagent. The Bissell Poweredge vacuum was easy to put together out of the box. The suction power is good and I like the accessories it comes with. I was really disappointed that this vacuum does not have an LED light! For over $200.00 you would assume it would. That feature alone would not make me want to purchase this. Also I don't like the fact you have to mount the vacuum to the wall to store it. It should have the option to fold in half. This Bissell PowerEdge Cordless Vacuum is amazingly very satisfying to use! It has never fail me every time I use it. It cleans up really good, has a great suction and it also gets the edges well. It's lightweight and super easy to maneuver. We have two dogs that sheds a lot and small kids so we have an endless clutter. This cordless vacuum makes cleaning pet hairs, crumbs and everything else like a breeze! It's way better than our old one. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an easy cleaning champion!Mother of Dragons

I had put off purchasing a cordless vacuum after using a couple big name / expensive cordless vacuums. But I read the reviews and decided to order this one. I wasn't completely sold until I used it and I was pleasantly surprised by the power, the size of the dust cup, attachments, how quiet it is, movability of the swivel head and the overall great job it did!!! I have one large dog and two cats, so it needs to do a good job. Compared to the other brands it is about half the price and twice the machine!!!shunt365

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey

I bought a Bissell crosswave cordless max last year for Christmas because this was sold out. Originally I wanted this I did a lot of research and thought the Tineco one was far more advanced considering they had come out at the same time. My Bissell broke and again it hasn't even been a year I did not buy the warranty for it because I thought it would at least last a year. But I decided I'd buy my original choice and I'm far from disappointed. The issues I had with the Bissell I don't with this. Bissell was bad at streaking and would leave a puddle of water behind the brush roller was so soft it wouldn't pick up dried messes larger food bits would be pushed in front of the Bissell instead of being picked up. The Tineco one is streak free has a studier brush roller that makes picks up dried messes easily it is an auto mode machine so it distributes water and detects water never leaves a puddle behind large food objects like dog kibble gets picked up easily. I have a fairly high number of animals and a senior dog who doesn't have 100% bladder control so these machines are used day in day out. I recommend this to anyone its perfect for everyday use light to heavy messes.Alysun Lusty

I chose this thanks to the Vacuum Wars youtube channel. We used to have a Bissell Crosswave but it didn't last long at all. It started to smell pretty quickly and got clogged a lot (dog hair gang!) I assumed it was our habits so we bought a second one and the same thing happened again, even with more vacuuming and better Crosswave cleaning habits. This time I decided the extra money would be worth it and so far it definitely has been! The only con so far: the clean water tank really should be larger. We have a medium house, nothing large or fancy, and we can't even get through a full room (kitchen especially) without refilling the tank.Cam

Overall: I really love it! Easy to use, quick and sufficient; Great for daily use & for family with pet. I do list detailed limitations below but it solves my biggest problem (a quick daily cleanning) so I am still happy. Pros: – Battery is sufficient for 800-900 sq.ft – Capture pet (cat) hair, dust, and small trash on floor; great for daily clean; – Its design makes it easy to move; – Less noisy compared to Roomba/regular vacuum (but still not quite; just relatively quieter) ; Limitations: – The clean water tank is kind of small; requires refill if you use max clean mode or have a slower cleanning process; For dirty water tank, it's enough for cleanning process but usually require to dump all dirty water before its self-clean (so it does not over the dirty water limit) – It has clean gap (about 3cm/1.2 in) on the edge that its brush cannot reach so cannot work for near kitchen cabinet cleanning; also its wide brush design makes it hard to go into corners near toilet; – Its brush is designed not to hurt flooring which means it also cannot do deep cleanning (e.g. clean out stains on tile grout) – Cleaning dirty water tank can be nasty if you have pet and long hair;Ali
