20 Best Vacuum For Hardwood And Rugs (Jan 2023 Update)

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. Ordered this bundle for such a great deal! Unfortunately, the item was delivered to the wrong address by FedEx. Totally not Hoover's fault. They re-shipped another bundle to me, and it worked out well the second time. I love these vacuums! They do a great job on our hardwoods and rugs and carpet. Our two year old loves to help vacuum too – that's how light the stick vacuum is! Being cordless is such a plus!!! Only wish that the batteries weren't so expensive, but that's not a huge deal. We purchased one extra battery just so both the handheld and stick have their own batteries. I will say that the handheld is far inferior to the stick, but it works for what we need (to do the stairs and our cars) – just have to go over the same areas multiple times, as the suction isn't stellar. I would recommend and purchase the stick vacuum again for sure… just probably not the handheld.Moon

I bought this cordless vac because I like any conveniences I can get when it comes to house work. I use my floor cleaners more often when cordless. I can glady skip wrapping/unwrapping, plugging/unplugging cords in and out of electrical outlets from room to room. I've been happy with this cordless since I got it last July (not quite one year old). It was an upgrade overall from what I had. However the hose got a hole in it not about 6-7 months in. Not from anything I could figure out. I duct taped it and after a second hole, I contacted the Manufacturer, since it's still within a 3 year warranty. They said the hose is not made anymore – already out of making the parts??? They will replace it — okay, — but I have to mail the whole vac back on my dime. They will pay for the shipment of the new unit. Which may be kinda fair, but it's too soon for this type of episode with a not quite a year old vacuum. Since the parts are not being made – there's no commitment to this product by the mfr. I did not buy at this store, but thought I would let someone know if considering — please don't do it.Chickee

I was going back and forth between this and the shark navigator cordless. They seemed pretty even on reviews. I mostly decided on this because it's was on sale on the Hoover website! I had to wait a little longer to get it then I would from other sites(about 5 days from the day I ordered it) but it was worth the price difference for sure. I was worried about it as I have 4 dogs. A great dane(high shedder short hair), a Mini Aussie( How shedder clumpy hair), a King Shepherd(high shedder clumpy long hair) and a Cheweenie(high shedder short hair. I also have a maine coon cat. So, I essentially have lots of hair everywhere, all the time. I do NOT know how this performs on carpers because I bought it for my wood floors( bathrooms(2), hallway, entryway, dining room, and kitchen.) So far it has worked great for me. I have had ZERO clog issues despite the amount of hair it has to pick up and I have been able to vacuum all the above mentioned rooms in one swoop without the battery going dead. It picks everything up easily. I actually accidentally sucked up a good size piece of paper today and really though it would cause my first clog, but atlas it didn't. So far this vacuum is performing perfectly for me. I think the only downside I can think of as of now is the fact that a replacement battery is 100$. However, there are off brand batteries other places that are compatible with this vacuum for half the price, and the reviews on them state that they actually work better than the original hoover battery… So, I will probably just go that route whenever I need a new battery. If you want a cordless for wood (or any non carpeted) floors, this one is definitely recommended. And it does hold up against that pet hair!Ameri5

Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is light weight & really easy to remove the canister from the stick stick. Glides nicely over our entire house which has mostly wood floors and tile, but did well on multiple rugs with different pile heights. It even comes with attachments to clean the stairs, furniture or our SUV & truck. We had a different cordless one but needed a vacuum we didn’t have to worry about running out of battery 1/2 way through our home. The cord is super long so that helps us from having to re-plug every few feet. The dust compartment is simple to empty and clean out with a press of a button. We have 2 dogs and 4 kids so we’re constantly vacuuming, the power is awesome and it’s convenient to easily unload the debris. It’s lightweight too, so it’s easy for me to move around the house without it being a hassle. There is a little downside to it, which is that it doesn’t stand on its own, so you’ll have to either prop it on something or fold it (which is easy) in order to do something else if needed while vacuuming. So I’m taking it down a star for that since I do have to stop and pick up toys etc having kids & pets constantly playing.Heathermthomas

The Shark Rocket Pro, picks up VERY well. The area I first vacuumed with it, was a area that had been vacuumed the day before. Within five minutes, the Shark had picked up A LOT more. The vacuum was easy to assemble and the attachment comes apart easily to be able to vacuum the ceiling and other had to get to areas. The Shark glides across any floor easily and turns easily. The only drawback I found with this Shark machine was the motor was near the top of the handle and it made the machine top heavy. It doesn’t stand on it’s own. There are two small attachments that didn’t have anywhere to attach to the machine, that I could find. But, as well as this machine works, I find these to be minor problems. As you can see from the photo, it picked up quite a bit after only a five minute vacuum. I have animals and cleaning hair has always been a problem.adcatex6

This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum works GREAT ! I really like how light weight it is, I can very easily maneuver it around the house with little effort and let me say how GREAT it picks up all the dirt and debris from my floors. My carpets are much cleaner/fluffy and my hardwood floors are cleaned better than when I sweep. I am very excited and satisfied at how much debris/hair/dust/dirt was in the debris container. This vacuum has PLENTY of attachments that I can use on my stairs and I'll even be cleaning my curtains and window seals. As small as this vacuum is, is does the job QUICKLY and very EFFECTIVELY, much much better than my current canister vacuum. This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is much quieter and very stronger in terms of suction than ANY vacuum I've ever owned. I went from 45 minutes of vacuuming to 15 minutes, WHAT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT ! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend the Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum if you want clean floors with little effort AND multiple attachments that can simplify and clean the most hard to reach places and other areas.liljayp

Here is what I love about it, personally I have been able to vacuum my whole house on 1 charge. I love not having to unplug, plug, unplug, plug. The second thing I like is that its not heavy. I will say it does collect alot of debris. It also has to really packed and the filter really dirty before acting up and then it will leave debris on the floor. I agree is does not vacuum as well, if the filter is dirty.
What I don't love is that it cuts out like it has a short in it when vacuuming, as if you have released the power button. I dont know if this an actual short or a flawed design but its very frustrating. I would give it more stars if it didn't cut out when vacuuming and that you didn't have to continually hold the power button down while vacuuming. It starts to hurt after a few minutes because I'm trying to make sure it doesn't cut out so I'm squeezing extra hard not even realizing I'm doing it. I am a hotel manager and professional housekeeper. This vacuum sucks at sucking. I've had it a year now. I keep it meticulously clean because if I dont it doesnt work. The brush wont spin when you pull back, the battery dies within 20 minutes of use on regular power no matter how long you've charged it, the filter is tiny and clogs almost immediately requiring you to rinse and wait the recommended 24 hours to dry before using again. The canister is small needing emptied frequently. These things combined make a five minute job at least 30 minutes worth of work. If I want to clean the house I have to start by cleaning the vacuum. Its design is flawed in the sense that the removable pieces and stem are hard to actually take off. I thought because it was a Hoover and it was more than I wanted to spend that I'd be impressed. I waited a year to review because I wanted to see if they would make good on their promise to handle the issues bit I still have not heard back from them. A year of one way correspondence and nothing. Inewspected their request to not return it to the store when I shouldnt have. Dont buy this model. Maybe another is better but I doubt I take the chance. I've had this for almost a year and am reasonably satisfied with it, though it has some issues. Pluses- vacuum and attachments are extremely versatile- great for vacuuming spiderwebs overhead with the crevice tool, as well as on the floor. On the floor, the head swivels a lot and readily fits into small and low spaces. I've had no issues with the battery- it seems to run the vac for a long time, and I plug it in after every use. Minuses- The long wand with floor head is difficult to remove from the vacuum motor housing. Also, the dirt cup doesn't latch easily to the vacuum- you have to slide it in place and give it a good smack with your hand- took me a while to figure this out. The little filter fills up very quickly and suction is lost. The motor is very loud. If vacuuming overhead, the motor is near your ear so I wear ear plugs to do this. Sure would be nice to have a light on the front of the floor head. Upshot- if you can live with the minuses, it works very well and can be used for just about any vacuuming task. No need to buy a separate handheld.Katy G

I am delighted with my cordless Animal V8 Vac it is just what I was looking for, light and easy to use, and no cord to trip over, with a powerful suction, and always ready to go. At 80 + I was finding my old friend, A Slim all-floors upright vac over ten years old and still going strong rather too much for me, I was thinking of having someone in to clean for me. Now I have no need to, and my new Animal V8 will soon pay for itself. My daughter is very pleased to adopt my old Slim All-Floors vac as it had many more years of service to give. My old Dyson DC16 recently died and I was frantic to find a similar replacement. I was just looking for a cordless handheld to quickly vacuum up small areas or spot clean. I saw this V8 cordless Motorhead looked almost identical to my deceased Dyson and an extra perk was that it had a detachable wand so I wouldn't have to bend down/stretch for those hard to reach places. It was $100 off so I ordered it. Straight out of the box, it was heavy. My arm was instantly tired after trying to use it above my head. Multiple issues: The air powerful air coming out of the exhaust vents blows debris everywhere. My small contained mess was now scattered everywhere! The direct driver power head has a plastic guide on the front. This makes it impossible to suck up anything that is larger than that clearance space. I have a parrot that drops sunflower seed shells and Cheerio cereal on the floor and this Dyson just pushes them in front of the vacuum. No room for them to be picked up because of that guide. Strike 3 for me was emptying the dust container. You have to pull hard upward to lift the head off the vacuum which then triggers the dust container bottom to swing open. This did not work easily or smoothly at all. Basically, I had to use two hands to both pry the top part up while pulling the bottom flap down to empty. If it were just one small flaw, I'd get over it but this isn't an inexpensive vacuum! I am beyond disappointed and now I have to drag it back to the Club for a refund.TMc

Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

I purchased this from QVC on april 25, 2021, When I got it, I was thrilled–it performed like a dream and I could not imagine having a better vaccum. One year later, the device that holds the unit upright broke; a couple weeks later, the ability to utilize the floor/carpet option failed, so I had only one speed. Today, the brush rolls stopped rotating. I contacted Shark, thinking I had a 3 year warranty, only to find out it is a LIMITED warranty and does not cover the base unit that is experiencing all the problems. I was told they could send me a replacement unit for $95, which is nearly half of the original cost of the unit when I purchased it new. I declined, and was then told that I could have the replacement base unit for half price, as part of the "Limited Warranty." Needless to say, I am disappointed that Shark does not fully disclose it warranty practices. It seems that every time I see one of its infomercials on TV, the President of the company is constantly raving about how Shark stands behind its products. I will have to do some deep thinking the next time I purchase a new vac, as I have felt somewhat betrayed by the organization and its warranty practices.bucksfan

I’ve always heard people talk so highly of Shark Vacuums. I was so excited when I bought this. I was gonna get it home and my floors would be so clean,I’d be one of those people that people would compliment on how clean it was. Now, I’m not one to write scathing reviews and I’m always the first one to say that that one person out of hundreds that gave something one star is probably being dramatic, but Today I have to be the one person, even if y’all are gonna think I’m dramatic. So here we go. Don’t waste your time. This is the worst vacuum I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve seen quite a few (my mom had a vacuuming problem as a kid. We would go through one a year because she would wear them out so quick). Anyways where do I begin. It advertises as a pet vacuum. Which was a selling point as I have several cats and dogs. But it only picks up a piece of cat litter if you’re straight on top of it on hardwood floors and forget about it on carpet. As far as hair, it will pick it up from the carpet but it doesn’t suck it up so it leaves chucks of pet hair behind it as if it was Hansel and Gretel going into a forest. If it does manage to pick up the hair, it gets stuck in the hose so any piece of dirt that get sucked up behind just keep packing into the hose. I feel like if it was a person I’d have to give it the Heimlich maneuver it was so clogged. So every time I used it it would get clogged and I would open up the part that’s designed to be the there if something got clogged (I didn’t realize I would have to use it so often) and when I opened it dirt would naturally spew out everywhere so I would clean it out, put it back together, and now I would have to clean up what just spewed out of the vacuum which would just turn into a vicious cycle. This has happened every single time I have used it in the last six months. I’ve finally gotten so frustrated with it that I took it into the basement and slammed it against the cement wall until it was in several pieces. And you know what? I bet know it will work just as good as beforeKristin

I've had a few vaccums over the years but felt it time to invest in a pricer model and am very happy I did. It has great suction. Attachments that work removing fur from my furniture. Use it as a regular vacuum, wand or hand vaccum, with a easy step release from the main attachment. Easy to empty and clean, with cleanable filters, and so far, the main attachment is as advertised and hasn't tangled up with hair. 2 small but surprising features I love are light on the main attachment, and the hinged cord hook. I thought the light was silly at first but I never knew how much I was missing while vacuuming on sunny days or with all the lights on, but the vaccum light really illuminates. While the cord hook rotates 180° to allow removing the cord bundle in one go, versus unwrapping it off of both hooks. I own a rabbit, and the only short coming I have experience is that the main attachment can have difficulties picking up bigger debris like, wood shavings and rabbit dropping. I attribute that to the debris not fitting under the brush than the vaccum not being able to suction it up. Regardless it still deserves 5stars as I love this vaccum and would buy it again.Kara

Love hate relationship with my vacuum. It’s very very verryyyy amazing at actually getting up all of the dirt, dust, food particles. It has great suction, and the attachments have nice features: a nice angled piece for corners and a great upholstery tool with the brushes on both sides that works FANTASTICALLY for pet hair!! The only thing I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAND … Why is the containment chamber sooooo small!! like I can only clean the stairs and upstairs hall have to empty, do 2/3 medium sized bedrooms. full. Living room and dining room. Have to empty it again!! if it’s too full like you try to squeeze in the last bit of the 3rd room you have to empty from top and bottom of the chamber which literally makes such a mess (making more stuff I have to vacuum sad face) and on top of that as cool as the really long detachable from the body tube is , stuff gets stucckkkk like soo baddd!!! Omg it’s unbearable at times I have to use a really long wire coat hanger that I have It’s ridiculous lol so yeah love hate relationship it vacuums so well though that honestly I just deal with it especially bc this vacuum is super cheap it was $160 at Target and $175 on Amazon delivered with warranty included so worth it! And I even contacted them the first time I had the issue tube clogging issue and they replaced it but the same thing still happens I’m sure it’s just from being extended and then retracted the stuff just gets stuck and builds up. I have owned a few different vacuum cleaners , made by different manufacturers over the last few years . And each one has lasted barely over a year. Now I'm not a person who vacuums multiple times in a week. Honestly , I may vacuum once every 2-3 weeks. So the old ones didn't crap the bed due to being over used. Before buying this fantastic vacuum , I did my due diligence and did a lot of research and read a ton of product reviews. By far I felt that this Shark vacuum was the best fit for me and I was right. Everything about this vacuum is smooth , easy to use & operate and definitely the best value for my wallet. I initially was hesitant about the price but I feel (and have heard from other Shark owners) that Shark vacuums last for 5 years and if that's the case , it's worth every single penny. This vacuum is okay. I broke my other Shark Navigator, the NV586 purple one, about a year ago and needed a quick replacement so I thought this one would be just as good. It was not. It was fine but really just not powerful enough to handle my 4 kiddos and two pets. So I went looking for an upgrade and I am coming back to write a review finally becuase I recently purchased the new Shark Vertex DuoClean (AZ2002) and OMG I never knew what I was literally missing. One single pass over an 8×10 rug and the DuoClean picked up more dirt and hair than any other vacuum I have ever owned. No exaggeration, I think I picked up years worth of nasty that I had no idea was still in there. As a bonus, it also glides over the hardwood floors picking up everything instead of scattering it like other vacuums and now I am also throwing away my brooms. After owning three Sharks and one Dyson, I would recommend the DuoClean forever. So the NV360 is fine for single folks with no pets or kids who also don't need to do hardwood floors, otherwise watch for a sale and snag the new DuoClean.Karilyn82

I have had a Hoover Windtunnel since 2012 and love it. This vacuum is terrible. It has good suction but………When it is in the Upright position so you can use the attachments the roller brush does not shut off. It ruins your carpet! It actually was smelling like something was burning. I think the belt was slipping. Bad engineering to not have the roller brush shut off in the upright position. What kind of idiot would say yes to a design like this? Our Windtunnel shuts off in the upright position. Tried to call Hoover….was told they were closed on a Thursday, I Was told in a recording to go online which I did but chat said they were closed and to call them. PING PONG affect going on here. DUMB….. Then on Friday was on hold 2 hrs before it cut me off. Called back, pressed the prompt for a call back and never got one the entire day and still no call back. Today is Monday called again and again We are closed after going through all the prompts to wait for an agent. Went online to chat and actually got someone named Honey B who was a bit rude saying we are open, just busy. So there is a difference of being closed and saying busy hang on….. Then when I told about the problem we had I was told to talk to who makes our carpet. Pass the buck Hoover on poor engineering huh????. You should never have a vacuum that the brush spins and spins when it's in one place. This vacuum was made to use attachments so put the rollers into idle please while using them. You will wear out your carpet and wear out your vacuum belt. Hoover will try everything I'm sure to cover our damaged carpet….SO BUYER beware. FORGET this vacuum. Its junk. PLUS the dial to lift the vacuum head up really does nothing. It's a joke. And when emptying the canister, it fell off the hinges. Seriously, I will never recommend Hoover again. They have gone down hill..You do get what you pay for. And this one is best left on the shelf.Larry59

I grew up using Hoover products and have used them my entire adult life. I researched all brands/models before replacing our older Hoover. We decided on this vacuum due to having three cats and it's excellent reviews. The first time I vacuumed with it, I loved it. I actually still love it's vacuuming capabilities (after using it a month). The fault with this product lies in the fact that as soon as you turn on the vacuum, the brush turns at a very high speed (while vacuum is still in upright position) and the brush doesn't stop until you turn off the vacuum, regardless of floor setting or if you are using the upholstery/stair attachments. I've never had a vacuum like this before and being that it's specifically designed for pet owners, the fact that the brush turns when the upholstery attachments are in use baffles me. While trying to vacuum our couch the brush actually wore on our carpet and heated it to the point of melting after less than a minute. I tried manipulating the vacuum and leaning it back off the carpet while using the attachment but that is just way too much effort. We tried it on all floor settings including hard floor with the same results. Honestly, the brush shouldn't turn until the handle is released for vacuuming so I'm not exactly sure why it was made this way. I returned it thinking I had a faulty vacuum and exchanged it for the same model (it does vacuum really well), and the second vacuum did the same, so I must assume it's simply a design flaw. So if your pet's don't shed on furniture or stairs I recommend this model, otherwise It pains me to say that I don't recommend it.Cat mom of three

The on switch should be up at the top of the handle instead of being a foot switch where the reclining lever used to be for something like 100 years of Hoover vacuums. To recline the handle now requires I reach around with my foot and step on the front of the machine while forcing the handle down. It's very awkward and silly to change a design that worked for a century. And the rug height adjustment is a little touchy. I set it around medium and started vacuuming a very low rug and didn't know the belt was slipping until I smelled rubber burning. Oops. Once I learned to dial the height properly the vacuum does a pretty good job of cleaning pet hair and dirt from carpet. I had been vacuuming with a shop vac and thought my rugs were fairly clean, but the Hoover with the spinning brushes managed to pull out a lot more dirt that I missed. Emptying the canister is straightforward. I take it outside and blow it with a leaf blower. I can't imagine getting it sufficiently clean any other way without using water. Overall it's a marvel of engineering that performs its job very well, but with a couple very obvious design blunders that renders it a bit awkward to use.Randal

We have had a MooSooXL-618 cordless stick vac for over a year, purchased on Amazon, and it has been reliable and convenient. I sometimes wished for stronger suction when I had to go over & over. I decided to look for another MooSoo, a bit stronger but no heavier, and when I could not find you on Amazon, I thought MooSoo was gone. I purchased another brand on Amazon, but returned it. Then I searched and located your MooSoo website, selling directly! But I did find your website difficult to navigate, or compare products, or hunt for particular features. It seems kinda jumbled, and lacking information important to me. So I called and spoke with a very helpful, professional representative. My needs: 1. as light-weight as possible because I am about 5' tall, 100 pounds with little muscle, and a painful back. Could not find weight info on your site. 2. more suction than our current XL-618. We have 2 kittens, and they scatter litter. I vacuum at least twice a day. Nice to have:- able to stand up, and not fall over. The rep enthusiastically recommended your K17F, which he said weighs 2.8 pounds (less than our XL618A, which he said weighs in at 3.3 lbs.) But it FEELS heavier. Suction is better (but I had to push on the rug). One disappointment is that there is no regular power cord that plugs directly from the vacuum into the wall outlet. I find the plug/base gizmo annoying. I do not want to mount that gizmo on our wall, so it the unit must be stretched across a bench with the head removed for access to the plug. Plus sometimes I bring it upstairs and want to charge it there in order to be ready to use up there. Bottom line – it's a good vacuum (and I have some customer confidence in MooSoo; I even hunted you down after I had thought you had disappeared!). Worked great the first few day but feels very cheap. The brush seems like it won’t last very long it was missing bristles after the first use. Battery runs down quick on high but it works good enough on low for a quick pickup of dog hair. My low review is due to the fact it doesn’t stand up by itself and it fell over one time on carpet and now the extended attachment feels like it’s rubbing metal on metal I can’t even use it anymore because it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me. I did love it at first but a very cheaply made product which I expected but I didn’t expect the tube to break so quickly.LarryT

Shipping was delayed a week from original delivery date but that wasn’t a factor. The packaging was excellent. The battery had a short charge so I used it as soon as I got it together. Much quieter than I thought it would be. Vacuum power was really good. After charging it overnight I installed the charging port; four screws and five wall anchors were included. It doesn’t say which size drill bit to use but you can figure it out by looking at the screws. I bought this cordless to use primarily in the upstairs bonus room and stairs which have new carpet. My Riccar upright is an awesome vacuum but too heavy to drag up and down stairs. I vacuumed on the high setting the entire room in about 10 minutes and it worked beautifully. We have a German Shepard that sheds like mad all year long. One could build another dog out of all the fur he sheds! We purchased the Bissell Crosswave a few weeks ago and I am thoroughly impressed. Our area rugs have never been cleaner (they are dark blue so the fur REALLY shows!). And it's so easy and convenient to use. The canister is easy to remove and empty. The wand is easy to take off and use for those nooks and crannies with the slim tool (which has a handy brush that slides up for dusting). Setting the height level while vacuuming works like a dream. With our old vac you had to turn off the vac to adjust the height. It has amazing suction. The power cord is nice and long so you don't have to keep moving it to a different outlet to reach. It's the best vacuum I've ever used on bare floors as well. It doesn't shoot the debris around but actually picks it up! The inside of the canister has removable parts that can be rinsed off as well which is a nice feature as here in Arizona it's very dusty. If I could give more stars, I definitely would!Kaarin

I have a German Shepherd who is very floofy. I narrowed down my choices between the Bissell CleanView® Rewind Pet Vacuum Cleaner ad the Dyson Animal II. I have had 2 Dysons before. The feature that made me decide on the Bissell is that it has an adjustment dial for 5 different brush heights so whatever you are vacuuming can be done effortlessly with just the right amount of suction regardless of the surface – tile, this rug, p[lush carpet etc. I have tile, carpets and rugs. The other strong selling point was the included upholstery attachment, which works like a dream on dog hair. The only thing I feel that could be improved is the length of the electrical cord. I had no idea that my carpets, my floors, my home was THAT bad until I used this incredible cleaning machine! I knew my old vacuum (also a Bissel) was needing replaced, and the suction on it still worked well but it had some other issues so I decided to buy a new vacuum, Boy oh boy am I glad that I did! After vacuuming my no carpeted floors with this vacuum, they looked like I had just mopped them! It picks up pet hair like a pro! I love how the canister opens up at the bottom with just the push of a button, no mess, no fuss! And one of my other favorite features of this vacuum is the self wind up cord! I finally received my MooSoo stick vac. All the pieces were there. My neighbor, who had just bought a new vacuum of another brand, was here when I was putting it together, and she was wishing she had waited to buy a vacuum until after she had seen mine. I ran it for a few minutes (then plugged the battery in to charge it up) and it seemed to run fine and seemed to have pretty good suction for an inexpensive stick vac. I like the way it looks and I love that it is cordless. I really like the attachment that has a brush that will slide down and lock out of the way so I can use the tool on my furniture or up along the edge of the ceiling or windows, as well as other places I probably haven't thought of yet. I am being treated with chemotherapy now, and will be in medical therapy until late spring. I am unable to use my upright, heavy duty vacuum right now, as I am not able to push it around for more than a few minutes at a time. I decided to forgo the Shark stick vac and instead go with this MooSoo, as I was really intrigued by all the great reviews on this budget friendly model. This did not work after a couple days. It was just spitting the dirt back out into the floor in a different spot. It does not work like the old moosoo. My old moosoo still works great, but I needed to because the battery life wasn’t so great on the old one but this new one did have a good battery or a slightly better one. Other than that this one is nowhere near as good as the one I bought last year I was very disappointed in this, it’s nice that swivels around, but it still doesn’t pick up like the old one and the light on it is very dim when compared to last year’s mooso vaccum it was the white one this vacuum seemed sturdier, but it just doesn’t work. I’m returning this I have to have something that works. I absolutely hate returning things to the store but in this case I have too because I definitely need something that I can depend on. Be really clear before you get this vacuum what you will use it for. I needed it to replace the broom and dustpan I used to clean the hardwood floor and tile in my 900 sqft apartment. This vacuum makes it so easy that I clean the floor more often now. It has turned a 2 hour job into 35 minutes. Given my smallish apartment I can’t speak on how long the battery will last for. Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. The vacuum is a lemon…complete waste of the time and money spent.Card Lady

It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review from #bzzagent. The Bissell Poweredge vacuum was easy to put together out of the box. The suction power is good and I like the accessories it comes with. I was really disappointed that this vacuum does not have an LED light! For over $200.00 you would assume it would. That feature alone would not make me want to purchase this. Also I don't like the fact you have to mount the vacuum to the wall to store it. It should have the option to fold in half. This Bissell PowerEdge Cordless Vacuum is amazingly very satisfying to use! It has never fail me every time I use it. It cleans up really good, has a great suction and it also gets the edges well. It's lightweight and super easy to maneuver. We have two dogs that sheds a lot and small kids so we have an endless clutter. This cordless vacuum makes cleaning pet hairs, crumbs and everything else like a breeze! It's way better than our old one. I had put off purchasing a cordless vacuum after using a couple big name / expensive cordless vacuums. But I read the reviews and decided to order this one. I wasn't completely sold until I used it and I was pleasantly surprised by the power, the size of the dust cup, attachments, how quiet it is, movability of the swivel head and the overall great job it did!!! I have one large dog and two cats, so it needs to do a good job. Compared to the other brands it is about half the price and twice the machine!!!shunt365

I've had a Bob and a Shark autovac and this iHome is the easiest to set up both the vacuum and the app. It's wifi connected immediately. Programming it to clean on specific days and times was extremely easy as well. I think the hardest thing to do was locate the power and home buttons which are touch sensitive and are unable to be seen if not lit up. This vacuum charges quickly and does a decent job sweeping and mapping a course. I have several throw rugs down, to help my GSD with traction, and this robot vac only got stuck once when it actually sucked up the rug and got jammed. My Shark got stuck on them constantly because it's wheels weren't large enough, which is one main reason I stopped using it. This iHome vac also easily finds it's recharging station before it runs out of life. The bin isn't as large as my Bob Pet was but it did my kitchen, dining room and small hallway before I emptied it and it would have he'd a little more. I haven't used it on the main carpet yet so I can't speak to how it will do there but I don't expect these robot vacs to manage heavier items such as carpets with deeper pile. I deep clean those with my Shark lift vac. This iHome robot vac is perfect to just make life a little easier cleaning my hardwoods and tile while having 3 dogs!lindchad

Eclipse G 2 does good on our hard surface floors such as kitchen and hardwood areas and just okay on carpet areas. Not a replacement for real vacuum cleaner or mop, but help keep up and extend full vacuum and mopping. I do like the mop feature and does surprisingly well especially if you spray hard floor lightly with cleaner. I don't see how this says it has navigation, it will tell you where it has been on phone app. however it don't remember room layouts and everytime it goes out it just bumps around like any plain robot vacuum. I found it works best if you just use remote and tell it to do room boarders then tell it to go back and forth in pattern otherwise it just bounces off everthing in no order. It also will not find home base if it is not with 5 feet from it. pushing home button just makes it bump around in circles until you make it go within the 5 feet of base. I'm also afraid that the battery my not last too much longer and only had it 4 months. I have notice a dramatic drop in battery life since new so I might have to use the extended warranty I purchased for it. All in all a okay robot vacuum/mop for the price, but I sure there are better out there. I will mark as yes to recommend item only for those that don't expect true navigation and have open floor plan areas.btim3

love this vaccum! i got it on clearance for $115 so the price value was amazing because its regularly $399! i have to say this thing is awesome! it has a super suction option and i pretty much only run it on that super suction. it picks up great! it really gets the sides of walls great too, its engineered to bump up to the sides and get every crumb. ive had robot vacuums in the past that were the bottom of the line robots that were "cheap" ($120 eufy brand) and so i was reluctant to buy another one but im so glad i did! it really does do a great job and i dont have to go behind it with my dust mop picking up the slack. i also love that i can just switch out the dust bin with the mop bucket and have it mop as well! it also vacuums in order! its not all over the place like the cheaper eufy robot vacuum. if your going to invest in a robot vacuum dont even waste your time with the "cheap" ones. you have to go big or go home. this one is excellent and ive heard its comparable to the $699 roomba. so it does save you a bit of money unless your lucky enough to find it on sale for $115 like i did! 🙂patrick

I have a medium/small house composed entirely of low pile carpet and hard tile. The biggest reason I went for this vacuum was the improved suction on hard surfaces, as I had a cheaper vacuum that would simply scatter dirt around. It definitely cleans both surfaces very thoroughly and makes cleaning the tile so much easier. I was also surprised at how quiet it is, not as loud as my old canister Bissel, even at maximum suction. One complaint I have is that the head can be difficult to push on carpet, I think it would be much easier with some wheels on the head.Max

All the good reviews are so TRUE. After many low quality vacs like the Dyson, etc, I finally got wise and bought a Miele. My first one I bought over 5 years ago and is still going strong like day 1. I bought a second one a few months ago (I'm a clean freak) and this one is equally fantastic. You just cannot beat Miele quality. I call her "Mia" because she's cute and follows you around like a little puppy. This baby could suck the grout out from between your tiles so you won't EVER worry about having enough suction. This sweeeper is lightweight and has a lot of suction. It is so much easier to get this out to sweep my kitchen floor than getting out our regular vacuum. It is easy to empty the dirt collector. I purchased this product 8 months ago. It worked great initially. Now the hose connecting the stick to the floor cleaner has cracked and has gotten holes in it. I cannot clean my carpets with it anymore. I’ve contacted the company and am awaiting a response on a solution.Beth

I LOVE this vacuum!!! So easy to use and take apart and clean. The suction is GREAT!! I have 2 cats and 1 dog and this vacuum works wonders!! I especially love the long cord so I only have to move the cord 2 times to get through the house. Also, it is very easy to undo the head piece from the stick part to get to small places. Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas
