Best Vacuum For Inground Pool (2023 Update)

Assembled according to diagram with weight positioned 1-1/2 lengths back from sweeper end. Two extra lengths added beyond longest stretch in pool. Worked right away and remains flat and balanced throughout. Even climbs the sides of the pool to the water line. Doesn't cover stairs or ledge as expected.Moves fairly quick at 2800 rpm. But even more impressive is that it is still moving at 1800 and 1500 rpm on my 1-1/2 hp variable speed motor. I'm using a dedicated pool vac line that is connected to the filter basket skimmer underground, so I leave a rubber cork in center of skimmer lid to divert all suction to that line. If I pull the cork, of course the sweeper will not run and it will skim instead. That's how my system normally works.Just finished resurfacing pool with mini pebble Tec finish and this has swept it clean since all chemicals were balanced and pool is looking sharp!You will notice in video how the hose line oscillates back and forth as the diaphragm pumps. This is normal and only makes a slight thumping noise that is not bothersome at all. It does make the pool water look shaky like there's a lot of wind, but not an issue.Great replacement for my age old Hayward Pool Vac and I don't have to change expensive parts every year. Not sure it would have lasted on pebble Tec anyway due to rougher surface on plastic.Well worth the money especially when on sale. Two thumbs up so far. Will be back if something fails.Carey P.

I’m not trashing the product because by reviews it seems to work for some. In my situation I could never get it to be satisfactory. Regardless of how I adjusted weight placement, return outlet directions, main and skimmer valves I couldn’t get it to do everything the way it should. Example: in my system I can’t restrict the main drain suction enough without it cutting sufficient flow to the pump to keep it from frequently getting stuck on the main drain. Unfortunately once you try it you own it. Also, if you have to hook it up through the skimmer, you no longer skim floating bugs or debris. For me it’s way easier and less frustrating to spend a half hour brushing and vacuuming once every week or so, and I don’t have to look at it or swim around it.David Eckert

Bought this a replacement for a six year old unit. We have a 16000gal 16 x 34 inground with 1/2 being 8ft deep. Cleans bottom and sides well if we keep the suction balanced at the pump diverted valve. Very easy to assemble. Main part that wears is the diaphragm tube. Easily replaced and relatively inexpensive. Have found the cheap, Chinese knockoffs to be worthless.terrance6

Worked great for a week. Always wanted one. Waste of money. I had pool people take a look. More then enough pressure. No leaks. The back up valve evidently is broke. I’m not buying a new one. Continues to spray water. The wheels turn slow forward if at all and it does not back up. A month old 3 weeks trying to figure out what I did wrong. I don’t have the time or patience.J. R.

I've adjusted the pressure flow rate, wheel speed, float positions and rear jet angles and my new 380 circles too much and ties the hose in knots till it stops working. The combination of its under water weight and 3 wheel design makes it turn and circle too much until the hose gets spun into a knot. The hose is stiff due to winter cold water and the 2 rotating joints just don't prevent twisting and then knotting of the stiff twisted hose. It seems as though its not heavy enough and the poor 3 wheel traction just encourages it to turn and circle no matter how the rear jet is set. Once the hose is getting knotted, the cleaner cannot reach the end of the hose and the far reaches of the pool.The oak leaves in my pool almost immediately jam either the throat due its small size or the entry portion of the bag. The bag is too small and its stitched to form a cloth tube before the leaves get to the bag open area. This cloth "tube" grabs the oak leaves sharp points and jams the opening to the bag. Once a single leaf jams, the whole bag entrance jams and then the throat after having only partially filled the bag. Then it runs around needlessly unable to collect anything. Would not recommend – period. They could have increased the throat by 1/2" and used a larger bag without the silly stitched tube-like entry.TRE

This thing is a piece of junk. Hose connections leaking like a sieve. Why they don’t just give you ONE hose to cut to fit your pool is beyond me. Instead these geniuses give you a hose with 10 connection point. aka 10 points of failure. Good luck trying to tighten connections. Bag doesn’t stay clipped either and velcro gets filthy with debris. The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. I thought I was upgrading. What a waste of money, this was a huge purchase for me.Jessica M.

Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. It does the job(ish). I'm sure I could have paid less and gotten the same level of performance and possibly without the challenges with the controller or getting stuck.Kailorbas

After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. I just love all the advertisements from companies like this claiming to have the answer to a crystal clear, clean pool! The fact is the price of robotic pool cleaners keeps going up and up. All claiming to be the next best thing since the invention of the wheel. Unfortunately I have not yet seen ONE product that is reliable and last more than one season. Yes, you see new bells and whistles as the prices go through the roof! My advice to Polaris and other robotic manufacturers is to have your Engineers go back to the drawing board and design a reliable, repeatable product that does not have to rebuilt every two weeks on order to work properly. Pool Robotic technology is not at the point where a reliable product can be offered that is worth the outrageous prices these companies charge for junk. POlaris, you want to charge $1000 for a robotic cleaner? I would be happy to pay a $1000 for something that works and will last at least five years. Go back to the drawing board! People aren't made out of money and you need to own up for the junk you sell!George M.

June 13, 2018 – New Info:First, thank you to the Zodiac team for reaching out. It does show a lot of customer concern – I only noticed when I came pack to update my review. I will be contacting those respondersNext, I will report that since the initial review, I've taken the cleaner in for service 6 times, and then engaged a weekly pool service to keep the pool cleaner as this product DOES NOT WORK EFFECTIVELY!Whenever I take it in (to a Polaris authorized repair shop, they claim), they replace the parts – usually the chain has slipped off, so new chain guard to try and prevent (I'm on my 3rd of the "upgraded" parts), or bearing in the wheel assemblies, or the latest – the Gear box has completely frozen and will need to be replaced.Some folks get lucky. I pay $200 – $400 PER YEAR to repair. Even in the two weeks following repair that it does work, it repeatedly gets stuck and does not effectively climb the walls. And my pool does not get a lot of debris! Just occasional leaves from neighbors, some grass cuttings or sand/silt from waterfall.I'll update after I speak to Polaris repOriginal Review!Although I did not buy this cleaner on DiscoverMyStore, I did find these reviews as I am searching for yet more repairs for my unit.This is a horrible piece of equipment and i would suggest anyone even considering it to to run very far away. Far smaller than my original cleaner, it looks great and has the dual chamber bag. I only take it 6 times a year because not because it works the rest of the time, but rather that I get tired of hauling it in. They've completely rebuilt the machine at least twice, replacing almost every part. I've replaced the booster pump and have had the service technicians out repeatedly to test volume levels, etc. I take it in yearly during "Polaris Days" just so I can get a new bag and yell at the representative. Only day 2 of running this but what an improvement! Our old Polaris just stopped working but this new one seems more durable and less components that could go wrong. The setup was simple and it has been working hard trying to get our pool clean! Im dumping out crap out of the bags every several hours! Our last one died this past summer so the new one, has had lots of cleanup to do. I'm so glad we decided to go ahead and purchase a new one instead of fixing the old. The sport is far better than the original Polaris. I will definitely update in 6 or more months if it is still working great. As of now, I am impressed.Nathaniel Y.

Overall the Dolphin Explorer E20 Robotic Pool Cleaner is good but have some challenges with an interior ledge in the fiberglass pool, great at cleaning the bottom of the pool, however misses some spots due to the curvature and ledge in the poolRaj L.

Works great! I have an 18 x 34 inground vinyl liner pool, love this robot! I have not had to use my regular vacuum at all! Such a time saver! Picks up anything in my pool so far, leaves, sticks, small gravel, coins, even silt and some of the red mud because I live in North Carolina and our dirt is red clay. Lol. Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. I do not know if another brand is better I am just explaining my experience.Sherri

We have an an above ground pool. The small vacuum that came with it broke and parts are, of course, back ordered. We saw this ad and after reviewing the return policy in case we didn't like it, ordered it. From the minute we saw it we were pretty excited but when we finished the first charge and used it we totally FELL IN LOVE with this product, especially the large capacity. It is so easy to use and picks up basically everything. Our pool had considerable algae from not having a vacuum for a couple of weeks but after 2 or 3 uses this picked up 95%! We HIGHLY recommend this!!!Connie & Rob

I got this because I thought "there has to be a better way" since we just brush every couple of days. We have an in ground pool, a weekly cleaning with this keeps the bottom clear. The little vacuum robot you leave in the pool just never worked properly for us- it always got stuck in one corner. This vacuum is amazing and keeps the pool clean! This item does only last about 30 minutes, which is why I knocked off a star. It also needs to get cleaned (the filter) frequently during use, which gets less frequent if you're consistent with vacuuming (less to clean up). A better battery life would make this much more convenient.Caro

I had my reservations about this item before making the purchase. However I will tell you this little vacuum is great. I can not believe what it vacuums out of the pool. I have a 22x 7 inground pool, This vacuum can clean the entire pool in a matter of minutes. I was shocked at how useful this product is and how well it is designed. It comes with plastic poles but I used my skimmer aluminum pole which attached directly to this Pool Blaster. The battery lasts pretty long between charges. The filter element catches sand leaves and dirt. The unit comes apart for easy cleaning. I am impressed so far. I have used it several times now and it has accomplished what i need it to do. It does not replace a vac that scrubs or one that is robotic, however for general cleaning of quick spot cleaning this thing is worth every penny. Th only thing I wish it had was a hook to hang it. I don't know how reliable it will be until i have owned a bit longer. So far so good!anonymous

Don't usually write reviews as I am not normally thoroughly disappointed. Our pool is kidney shaped. it likes to stay on the sides and gets stuck in on spot forever. It will go to the water line and stay there for a long period of time and sometimes break loose on its own (this after about 15 minutes when I can not take it any longer). When cleaning the bottom it tracks the same spots and when it hits spots near the steps, it gets stuck in each corner/curve. I have tried varying the pump RPM's to no avail. Definitely do not recommend this product.View the attached video. It is one of the many places it gets stuck. This one lasted for over 30 minutes and waited just for this post. Couldn't take it any longer. Had to get the broom out and make it take a different direction.Glad to hear it is working great for other people.Thank youSteve

I have an old Hayward (2005) which is the exact same model. it served me very ell over the years so when the interior parts had worn out I decided to buy a new one. When I hooked it up it did not have the same suction (movement) of the old one. I have the same filter it just will not move all around the pool. I tried different hoses, cleaned the filter and still the same result. I don't know what they changed on the inside but this new model just does not perform like my old Hayward did when it was new. It would literally climb the vertical walls if I did not back down the filter pressure. I think I'm going to try to fix the old one.DJ G.

I purchased this product to auto sweep and clean my Pulte standard (10,000 gal) pool. The 3 issues that I have with the product is that 1. The unit hangs at were the wall to my hot tub and pool floor meet. More than likely the near 100+ degree angle prevents the unit from riding up the wall like it does in the rest of the pool. 2. It also seems to get stuck on the 2 pool drains located in the deep end of the pool . I have to periodically pull it off to get it to start moving along the pool floor. 3. The straight line run of the unit is too short before it turns. This issue causes the unit to remain more in the deep end of the pool and less time in the shallow. I spoke to the guys at my local Pinch-A-Penny and they advised me to break off the tab on the "B" gear and once put back together it would run longer in a straight line prior to making a turn. Other than these 3 issues the unit does a good job at cleaning the pool.Gary B.

This cleaner has muscle, I love the 4×4 design and the directional remote control makes this unit the best. No need for the WiFi. I have a 32k gallon pool and this unit walks the wall with no problem. Love how it cleans the waterline and tiles, fantastic cleaner and fun to watch it handle its duties. Surprised at the filter screen design, it picks up a lot of fine particles and debris. Switching from the suction system, I'm happy to be able to free up my pump motor from cleaning the pool as well. This is my first robot cleaner, and so fare its working above my expectation. Looking forward to getting many years of good cleaning experience from this 9550 sport.Greg

Firstly I would say buying a pool cleaning robot is a nightmare – seems like no matter what model you get, no matter how cheap or expensive someone will say it sucks (no pun intended). However after hearing my wife's input from a Facebook swimming pool owners group she was a member of about the Polaris I decided to go with the 9550. I did't want or need all the fancy WiFi and phone stuff so was able to pick this up for a good discount from a well known pool supply retailer. A benefit of that is the warranty starts from when they hand it over to you, and they have in house servicing under warranty so no sending it away or anything if it goes wrong. And yeah, their nearest outlet is literally walking distance from me.So, on to my review.Initial impressions after assembling the caddy were1. There's a lot of plastic and the tires didn't seem as grippy as I would have expected.2. It's smaller than I thought and quite heavy for the size – so dense3. Otherwise seems simple and well designed.It took about 10 minutes to assemble the caddy and attach the control unit. After that I was able to get it hooked up and in the pool cleaning in minutes – the basic controls are simple. I'm not interested in programmed cleaning which seems pointless unless you're going to leave it in the pool which they don't recommend. You'll need to clean the filter each time anyway.The lift and retrieval system took a bit of getting used to. Counter intuitively the end of the robot with the cable sticking out of is the front. But once you've figured it out it's easy to guide to the edge where it climbs easily even from 8 feet down. Lifting from the pool and cleaning the filter was easy too. I'm guessing that high pressure jets are probably responsible for a lot of the claims about the filter breaking or separating so I recommend a gentle spray from the outside to wash out dirt and then pick out any big bits that stick.In terms of cleaning thoroughness – I have a 36'x16' double-roman rectangular pool with rounded ends and a couple of steps at one end. In six cleanings it has never cleaned the top step and has not well cleaned the second step. It usually misses a spot of two in the middle of the pool. This robot does not have a compass and AFAIK has no pool mapping algorithm, the algorithm is more like a random walk. Even if it has a map It does not have a compass so after hitting walls and falling off at an angle it is probably lost again. I have tried using a bottom only mode and switching the pool type setting to non-rectangular. I'm unsure if that made a difference as I have little dirt any more to really tell.But the pool cleaning is quick – only 90 minutes so running multiple times isn't the end of the world. Or if you are in the hurry pick up the remote and manually guide it to the spots to clean. I actually only just figured out the remote could do that – I thought it was just for guiding the lift out at the end. Obviously I did not read the manual thoroughly the first time!My pool is suffering from some black algae – it obviously doesn't remove those spots, even a stainless wire brush doesn't do that so no way would the rubber scrubber do anything. But it might be softening it up a bit. I suspect with regular algae it is would be more effective – especially at stopping it building up in the first place.I will say that after initial cleanings with my 9550 I was somewhat disappointed by the amount of dirt still on the bottom of my pool quite apart from the missed spots. The day after cleaning it seemed my pool had silt again so whatever the Polaris had sucked up made it through the system again and settled out. However I already knew about the optional ultra-fine filter (part number R0535800 ) and had ordered it the day I got my robot. On the first clean using that filter it picked up an amazing amount of silt that's so fine it looks like sludge (see photo). Even after two more cleans it was still picking it up. This is probably not surprising since my pool used to have a DE (diatomaceous earth) filter that I ditched when the canister split so there was probably a bunch of that ultra-fine junk in the water.Clearly this junk is still passing through the pool system cartridge filter which probably explains why when I swept all the dirt to the main drain it would come right back the next day. So combined with regular cleanings using the Polaris robot with its ultra-fine filter I think I can a) remove the residual DE entirely, and b) keep the ultra-fine particles from the air out in the future. Since one of the reasons for using DE is to get rid of fine particles I'm confident this is combo of cartridge + robotic ultra-fine filtering is a good way to go. Obviously the robot won't filter 30,000 gallons a day but incrementally I think it will let me easily stay on top of ultra fine particulates that a cartridge misses but with all the convenience and low maintenance of the cartridge system.Incidentally several websites selling it claim the uSimon W.

This review is on 9*** series. The model I was using was the "top of the line" version the P965iQ. The 9**** series share the same platform. Differences are controllers and cable detanglers (doesn't always work, that's why if you look carefully at the manual and box they says assists in detangling not prevents detangling).Had the 9650 for two weeks, in the process my pool was wrecked. IT HAS BEEN RETURNED !!!!!!!I bought the 9650 because it was supposed to be intelligent and "the best at cleaning". 0 iQ intelligent, that's it actual intelligence level. It's purely gimmick advertising. Things dumb as a rock just has some timers in it has absolutely no intelligence to it. The 9650 has to have an app to set timers that can be set, so if for some reason, such as the very poor wifi radio it has on you loose some of the limited functionality it does have.The app and controller on the 9650 has very limited functionality. All that it controls is a daily schedule, with in the daily schedule you can select start time and three run times :55 minutes which does water line, 1:50 and 2:50. Unfortunately the cycle timer can not be changed. This was also acknowledged by Polaris tech support. So consequently the 9650 would rarely climb up all the way to the top of the pool walls especially in the deep end of the pool.It did a horrible job climbing the stairs and when it did did extremely poor job of actually cleaning them. If I would have kept the unit I would have had to be out there every other day to sweep. Had I kept the 9560 my sweeping would increase by 1000X. So why would I need a cleaner.It also didn't do corners either so dirt accumulated in all corners.The perfect pool for these units would be a very small shallow pool with no step or obstructions. Not my pool at all !!!In comparison I have a 12 year old AquaJet robotic cleaner that only has two functions on the controller, I can set the cycle timer so it does get up all the way up all the walls and a run timer that runs the unit for over 2 hours. Also because of the design it actually climbs and cleans the stairs and platform and corners extremely well.It never advertised that it had Vortex 4 cleaning what ever that's suppose to be, but the cleaning it does is better than the Polaris 9*** series.Down side the of the AquaJet is it is no longer manufactured.But the Aquabot APRVJR Pool Rover Junior is almost the exact same unit as the AquaJet. Can't see the controller on the unit so not sure if they have the cycle timer setting on it. Cycle time is critical as that will determine whether the unit will go all the way up walls before it gets reversed. Oh yeah I failed to mention that my AquaJet cost $900 up to >$1500.For what you get with Polaris you can get a much better over all cleaner that actually climbs all way up your walls, cleans stairs and corners and can do all the other things claimed by Polaris that their 9*** will do with a "low end" cleaner and save yourself a good amount of money to enjoy on many other things.Also I am in the process of testing the P825 by Polaris. It doesn't offer anything that my 12 year old AquaJet doesn't already do. It looks more impressive but as far as functionality there is no difference between my 12 year old AquaJet and the P825. So the P825 is also going back this week !!!!!Carlos S.

For the price the Zodiac MX6 delivered what i was looking for. I needed affordable pool cleaner that would pickup the find debri and scrub the floor and walls of the pool. I didn't know they sold a elite Zodiac MX6 that come with two rubber scrubbers that i needed on my new mx6. I was able to do a little research and found out i could buy the new elite part and it would fit on mine. $29 and one screw it was on and working. The only problem i have is my pump is getting to much air in the line which i can only see the leak is in the reconnecting hoses on the MX6.i figured that shutting off the bottom drains before hooking up MX6 seem to solve most of the problem. It worth the price and quality and i am very happy with my purchase.dsallas-123

Item was delivered next day! The Zodiac MX6 was easy to assemble and get going (took me and my 7yo grandson about 15 minutes). We have a 14×36 in-ground concrete pool that is about 9.5' deep. The skimmer is located near the deep end, but the MX6 seemed to have plenty of hose to reach all areas in the shallow end. We watched it for a few minutes and kept checking on it every half hour or so. It never got hung up or stuck on anything. It cleaned the pool in superb fashion. I'm extremely happy with this….especially since Walmart was about $60 cheaper than Amazon!Mp3Mike

After hurricane Elsa my Florida pool was filled with bugs, debris, and a load of sand. I cleaned it with my manual pool cleaner but it left a bunch of sand remaining. So I decided to get this for the wifi feature and I am really impressed. This is extremely easy to use and I love that I no longer have to deal with hooking a hose up to my filter and then removing it, etc.This is so simple to use because it sucks up all of the dirt into its own reservoir which is rather large. It propels itself and even climbs up the walls. Setting it up to the app is easy to use and work. It has a choice for just ground cleaning that is a 1 hour 30 minute clean, or a ground and climbing which is 2 hours and 30 minutes. I did the ground and clean and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It climbed up the sides of my pool and scrubbed my tile with the little scrubbers on the front and back.My pool has never looked cleaner since using this. This comes with a 60 foot cord which is way longer than I need but I got this unit over the 50 foot corded unit due to the WiFi options. I did not have any issues with the cord getting tangled while cleaning. This not only works great but also makes my life easier and allows me to have more family time.ShiningHiker

I picked this up to clean my pool on a regular basis, I was tired of doing it manually especially with how my filter works. My pool had a multi-speed pump so in order to vacuum I would have to setup the pool pump on high power and setup the hose to clean the pool. With this vacuum it just works when I press the button. I come back in 2-3 hours and the whole pool is pretty much clean.Now there are a few downsides to such a vacuum; for one the dirt cup is not that large and the "filter" does not filter out tiny debris. What this means is that the pool often gets a bit cloudy while the vacuum is running. My DE filter cleans all the water back to crystal-clear but it does often clog up the filter with the amount of dust it kicks up.However the vacuum itself does a phenomenal job of cleaning the ground of the pool back to white from whatever color it may have been. See the pictures for some examples of it in action. This model is the version that climbs the walls and cleans the edge of the pool outside of the water with brushes. In practice this works much better than I expected as the vacuum does actually come out of the water partially to do this (see pics).All in all I have been using this vacuum for 4 months and I have cleaned the basket twice a month or so (based on how often I run the vacuum) and I have no complaints. This is a product that actually does what it says it does without complications. The only part of this product that feels like an after-thought is the "bluetooth/app control" as the app literally has one button for me to start the vacuum. Not exactly mind blowing remote control capabilities…Outside of that I think this is an outstanding product and I will be using it for the foreseeable future. I will likely let it go with my house when it is sold since I think it will be a selling point for the pool itself.Jimster480

I have owned several of these over the past 30 years. My pool guy suggested I get the new star model. From the beginning it never had good suction and was a constant frustration. I finally got so frustrated I bought the upgraded design of the original. The moment I started it up it acted perfectly – just like the old model. I would not recommend you get the star model but buy the new version of the original one.phil r.

Unfortunately, this product just didn't work out for. I owned the zodiac G2 for ten 10 years and never had problems keeping it down and balanced. It would travel up walls and along the entire perimeter of the pool. This kreepy Krauly will not stay balanced or travel evenly throughout the pool. I've tried numerous adjustments with the weights provided with this unit. I'm disappointed and unimpressed by its performance. I'm going to try a few more things before I decide to return it.Jacqueline

I wanted to wait until I had used this a few times before writing a review because I had previously purchased a knock off of this product that was an utter disappointment and I returned it. The Pentair Kreepy Krauly worked right out of the box but it has taken me a few times of using it to adjust it ***.so it's perfect. I live in Florida and only use it once a week because I have a screened in pool which is about 22 ft. in length and my pool does not get dirty. I also do not get leaves in my pool because of the screened enclosure. I brush the walls and steps before using the unit. I am really a novice at this and I found that I had to add one more length of hose than the manufacturer recommended to get it to go into the far corner of my pool between my steps and my raised spa. At first it would get caught in that very tight space between the steps and the spa (and I considered removing that extra hose length to remedy it), but instead I turned "up" the water flow attachment speed to "faster" (about a quarter of turn), gave it a few minutes… and then it figured out how to get out of that spot in a short amount of time. I also had to adjust the water flow attachment a number of other times, but only a quarter turn at a time to get it just right so the cleaner did not get stuck on the main drain (turn back the water flow attachment to "slower", which lessens the amount of suction so the cleaner and the main drain don't just keep sucking each other together). My suggestion is when you first set up this unit to set the water flow attachment in the middle between Faster and Slower which I think would eliminate a lot of the adjustments I had to make… and then make your adjustments from there . You could also close your Main drain to accomplish keeping the cleaner from getting stuck on the main drain.. I have also adjusted the singular weight I have on the hose (I only require one weight for my length of pool) so the weight is now closer to the cleaner (maybe 8 inches from the unit) to prevent it from tipping backwards after coming off a wall. You just have to play with all these different things… a little trial and error. After these adjustments, today it worked perfectly. It cleans the pool, climbs the walls and doesn't get stuck in corners or on the main drain. It takes some patience and small adjustments until you get it right but then it does an excellent job of cleaning the pool. I think any pool cleaner you might buy will require adjustments. My pool is spotless and it only takes about 3 hours. After I use it, I wash down my hoses to get the chlorine off, both inside and out, as well as washing down the cleaner itself both inside and out which should prolong the life of the unit. I store it in a pool box (detaching all the hoses which should be laid straight) to protect everything). I highly recommend this unit. Hope this is of some help.M. A.

First of all the cheaply made very low duty plastic pole is useless as there is no additional support on the vacuum. This makes the vacuum wobble and at one point the plastic pole will break. Even with a metal pole the vacuum wobbles as there is a design error. Secondly, when lifting the vacuum, the water can freely eject and the dirt falls back into the pool. You will need to knee down and lift the vacuum with hand, turning the device upside down, to avoid all the dirt to fall back into the pool. Very poorly designed. Will return mine tomorrow. Update: Got one pf the Intex models for about 60 bucks and tjey are better designed, at least have a non return flap valve so thst the dirt can‘t fall back in the pool and similar suction power.Las V. Opening pool after not really taking care of it over winter — I'm blaming ***.anwho Wife and I have suffered through previous years keeping pool clean with ones that hookup to the pool filters. We have one of those larger Intex steel frame (12000 Gal) style pools so we know with the pump you get what you pay for (to be fair the pump works fine for the pool). It was always a hassle even as I'd upgrade connecters etc. So this year with the pool a mess and we started "cleaning" 1 hour later and wife and I just starting to boil I'm like fudge it, there has to be a better way. Found this bad boy. 100% worth it for us. Is it the best thing ever, no. Is the thing to clean your above ground medium size pool. Yes. Does it have a few "issues" with letting stuff out when you pull out of water. Of course, but you still got a lot more out. I find if I power it off under water and hold the front end up before taking it out (hard to do when on the stick, but once again I digress) there is very minimal spill back. In the end what went from a multi-person marriage destroying activity to a very easy one person (not me) way to clean the pool. Battery is long enough that outside of cleaning up a winter mess should be fine for your average cleaning cycle. The only fault would be for the really stuck on algae we have to go in the brush. If it had a way to have a hard flat brush for algae build up, well I don't know what more I could ask for at this price.JustBill

I’ve had 2 kreepys over the last 30 years. Originals, both of which lasted about 15 years each. Kreepys have always had their problem, like having to be taken out during leaf fall seasons. But when they work, they’d work well.But this new one is crap. I cannot make it grad the bottom. It wants to scoot along Kanye’s to the side. And when it comes to a certain spot, a curve on my inpool finite lower stairs, it just gets hung there. Both old Kreepys did fine. Never had a problem there. This one isn’t up to the job. No matter what I do.I’m considering a wheeled cleaner.Now it’s 6 months later. This thing continues its above problems. But now it’s wore a hole in itself in a couple places from riding my pool steps.John S.

I have been looking for something that works for a long time to clean my pool. THis does the job! It's auto robotics does the cleaning and it is very clean. It recognizes where to go (seems like that) and it does the job! I am very happy with the results and it comes complete with all you need to get it installed and ready to go!Lu F. 😄.

I was surprised at how well this worked. It does a really good job cleaning the pool including getting algae off the sides. It is easy to use. Just set it and forget it for two hours. One by product not discussed is how it also cleans the water. In order to get suction it filters all the water it ingests. This leaves the pool water cleaner and mixes the chemicals in your pool thoroughly.Dave &. L. T.

There is not much that these things do. It’s basically a vacuum machine running around. How do you know if they are good or bad ? The corners. This one makes is the first one I have owned that cleans the corners or the pool with every single run.There are fanciers versions of this device, I have the 502, the cheapest one. Other versions have two scrubbers and additional functionality. Are they needed or worthy ? I think they are not. The basic functionality is the same in all of them, so they won’t clean better and that’s the only thing that matters in this case.CuasiJoe

First off this is not even the same picture as shown by seller. They sent me a small machine that uses your pumps suction to move. It does not clean whole pool it gets stuck and does not even fit on my pools skimmer pipe. The rubber adapter used to connect will be sucked down into your tube which could possibly break your pool system. Mine almost went into the tube. I followed all the instructions in the book but it does not work. Do not waste your money. I would not recommend to anyone! Complete waste of money.Juan

We have a 24 ft round, above ground pool. Long ago, we also had a pool of the same size and had a barracuda vacuum, which we loved. As the years went by, we got rid of the pool and the accessories for the pool. Fast forward to the pandemic and we decided we needed another pool and a vacuum similar to the barracuda. This was it!!! It works just as good, was easy to assemble and plug it in to our skimmer. We do not use the blue return jet that was provided in the box but only because we don't need to. All in all, we have used the vacuum many times since getting it and it works great! Now, for some reason it doesn't climb our walls but we won't deduct a star for that because we still like to hand vacuum and scrub our walls anyway. For the price of this vacuum (at the time that we bought it), we are very satisfied! The price has increased significantly but tbh, if I knew how well it worked, I'd still buy it!MMB

While it's not a $400 kreepy krawly, it does get the job done for a fraction of the price. Many of the complaints in the reviews seem to be from users who don't understand how to set their pool pump pressures correctly. The actual function of the vacuum works just fine for me when it stays together.You get what you pay for. Does it work, yes. Does it keep falling apart, yes. The vacuum keeps shaking itself apart no matter how times I try to screw it back together.Update as of 8/19/21: Customer Service was very helpful after I described to them how the vacuum was falling apart. They immediately sent over a replacement unit and promised to fix the issue of the white vacuum body falling of the internal vacuum mechanism. I have updated the review from 2 stars to 4 stars. If the vacuum assembly gets fixed correctly, I may even give it 5 stars because of the affordable price.Kent B.

Saves your pool filter. Can run this at anytime with or without pool pump on. Does a good job picking up debris on the floor. Does climb walls. Pretty easy to clean. Only thing is it doesn't capture all the small particles so the pool will lose some of its clarity after you run it. As much as you would lose with a normal cleaner. I think so far it has been a good purchase. Much better than wasting pool money on a salt water system that lasted only one year.vipercash1000000

I was sent an email by ebay to write a review on a recent purchase, this is not what I normally do. However, I feel that the Aquabot Turbo T-jet or -Aquabot robot as my son calls him-is the best purchase I have made for my pool so far. So I believe it warrants my review. Coming from England as you can imagine, pools are not in abundance. So I think its fair to say that Im fairly new to pool cleaning. My first port of call was to buy a special from a well know hardware store. Big mistake! It was more trouble than it was worth. None stop cleaning out, loss of suction, broken hoses, you name it and it happened. With my work, I have to travel for long periods of time which means the wife has to maintain the pool in my absence. No easy feat with an unreliable pool cleaner, especially with a 40ftx20ft pool to look after. So after much consideration and just two weeks before my next trip, I purchased the Aquabot Turbo T jet cleaner. Wow! It was amazing. The pool has never looked so clean, it also keeps the kids entertained and there is the added bonus of saving money on power usage. I set a power timer to operate the cleaner twice a day for 2 hours at a time. This allows me to half the running time of the main circulation pump. Currently Im still working away and the wife has had nothing but glowing reports of a trouble free clean pool, courtesy of our Aquabot robot. If your pool cleaner isnt performing, I would highly recommend the Aquabot T jet.trixiesquash
