Skin type: dry, non sensitive (The white on my face is sunscreen lol) Super cheap for all the must have serum ingredients in one! I was a little worried because of the high vitamin C with retinol and the witch hazel. I feel like the skincare gurus I watch might not love the idea of this product haha but it was on sale for $8 and had all the products I was shopping to replenish. I have been using vitamin C and retinol in my routine for about a year prior to this. I don’t know if I’d recommend it for people new to those ingredients since it’s a high % of vitamin C. I’ve been using this for a little over a week and am already seeing great results! I’ve noticed a decrease in forehead lines and lines around my eyes. My makeup is also going on smoother and holding up longer. I recommend using this after a cleanser, letting this product sit for 20 or so minutes then following up with a ceramide moisturizer. And after that PUT ON SUNSCREEN if you use it in the morning. Sunscreen is always important but especially if you’re using a vitamin C and/or retinol. ☺️malia.s
I usually just review products on the odd occasion and this is one of the good occasions! I don't know if it's just this product or a combination of me using Aveeno Positively Radiant face lotion too but OMG! I recently had a baby and my skin freaked out right afterwards with acne and also got infected with Staph, just bad luck I guess! So, my face was left with a lot of hyper pigmentation. Usually my skin takes months for the hyper pigmentation to subside even a little. For me to see any change is a miracle! My skin is brighter and the texture is a lot smoother. This serum is a bit watery and smells a little strong but I just mix it with some lavender oil (an antioxidant too). This serum works wonders on even sensitive, irritated skin. I was a bit worried as my skin condition has been all over the place for a few months now (probably mean hormones soon turning 50, face masks, super dry cold weather…the dream team at work). So, hoping for some miracle help, risked a vitamin C serum but was a bit worried it would be too harsh. This serum feels a tiny bit tingly for a few seconds – not as in painful rest assured – and then is fully absorbed and your skin is ready for your moisturizer. The results are visible pretty fast and I will update if need be but it feels like this is going to stay for a while in my skincare routine. I tried the Herbivore Nova Brightening Serum that I was gifted by Herbivore, in exchange for my honest review. First off, the packaging and color of this serum is so bright and fun! I bought this product when I went to visit Sephora with a friend, and this was recommended to me by one of the employees there to fix my reddened cheeks and complexion (I wanted something to brighten/whiten me out evenly). I hesitated on buying it since it was more expensive than products I usually try out, but I find myself liking how it feels after some weeks on it. It definitely has some smell at first (tumeric) and it's important to clean the place where it's pumped out with a finger (may leave some residue), but it absorbs near instantly into the skin and doesn't feel tacky, gooey, or oily like some serums I tried. For something which seems to have a sort of thicker consistency and its vibrant color, it really is a product which just instantly blends and absorbs into the skin and I really like it. I got a pretty generously sized sample of this in an order a few weeks ago, and after finishing it I decided to buy the full size. For reference, I have very fair, oily, somewhat sensitive, acne-prone skin with mild rosacea. First, let me address the scent. Yes, it smells like turmeric because it contains turmeric (duh). I knew what I was getting so I wasn’t bothered by the smell. I also think the scent is pretty mild and it doesn’t linger. If you don’t like the smell of turmeric or have never smelled it before, this might not be for you. Personally, I was interested in this product largely because of the included turmeric. I struggle with skin redness and the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric can help with that. It’s also supposedly good for acne. So far, I really like this serum. I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks as part of my morning skincare routine. It’s moisturizing and spreads over the skin easily. It’s a gentle formula that hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts. It doesn’t make me greasy, but I find it gives me a really healthy glow upon application. I have a bad habit of picking at pimples and my acne marks take forever to fade, but I do feel like this is helping speed up that process. I think this is a great product ! I’ve been using it for a few months now just at night, sometimes one night after the other or when I want to use other actives like BHA or retinol I’d use it every second night. I have stubborn pigmentation most likely from sun exposure in my teens but I think that this product is slowly helping them fade ! I will definitely repurchase because I do love how my skin is doing. I only really wear sunscreen and concealer now because overall my skin looks pretty damn glowy and no (or barely any) breakouts. This is a MUST HAVE! As a person of colour who typically suffers from dark marks and hyperpigmentation I am very impressed just how quickly this product gets to work. I’ve owned this serum for under 2 weeks and my dark spots on my arms have almost disappeared or have significantly reduced in their darkness. This product does not dry the skin or affect my skin in anyway negatively which I was really surprised about as initially I was doubtful of the lactic acid but it works really well as an exfoliating ingredient brightening the skin. I love Drmtlgy products and wanted to love this one but it just didn’t work for me. I am in my early 20s and struggle with acne. I don’t really have sensitive skin. I used this for 6 weeks. At first I really liked the glow that it gave my skin. After continued use, however, my skin started turning red and splotchy. My skin is more on the dry side but this made my skin overly oily and I started having breakouts in places that I rarely do. I use a chemical exfoliation once a week and I use retinol 3 to 5 times a week. I made sure to alternate and never use any of those products with the Vitamin C. Maybe I didn’t give enough space in between? For now, I’m going to discontinue using this. I’ve read other reviews about people having a reaction like mine so they switched to using the C5 until they built up a tolerance. I may try that.KT
There are a lot of poorly formulated ascorbic acid serums out there but this is not one of them. When it arrived, the serum itself was clear & not oxidised at all. I used it over a course of 3.5 months & it oxidised very little by the time I finished it up. The texture is very smooth. Not grainy. It absorbs well, & fairly quickly. It didn't have as much of that infamous stinky smell that ascorbic acid serums can have. The odour was definitely there but it was subtle. The only thing I would change about this product is the packaging. I love it's in a dark, UV protectant glass bottle but I'm not a fan of dropper applications when it comes to ascorbic acid. Overall, I like the product but I don't love it. It does way better than a cheaper brand I was using. It drys down quickly and I don't have any problems with irritation or breakouts. I am of a darker complexion, so my hyperpigmentation is black. Therefore, the product gets my hyperpigmentation to a brown color and my tretinoin does the rest. I have never used a vitamin c serum before (I tried a retinal cream and it made my face break out so bad so I stoped trying new stuff). I have never had blackheads a day in my life and now my cheeks are covered. Very disappointing, but if I would have looked closer at the ingredients, Jojoba oil can clog pores quickly. I've always had oily, acne prone, sensitive skin. I stopped taking hormonal contraceptives about 2 years ago, and my skin has been changing. I now have dry patches, and have noticed more fine lines, but I'm not breaking out as much. I normally wouldn't try many products on my face, because they almost always seemed to end up causing a breakout. I have a few Vit-C serums already, I always end up putting this one in my cart but it's long gone before I fill it with other products. This time I managed to grab it on time, plus, had a nice sale on Black Friday. Let me tell you, for this price you can't really go wrong. This company/manufacturer is great and non-expensive, and the quality of the products is awesome. I also don't mind the scent of Vit-C even though the potent formulas smell quite sharp. I kinda feel like they're more high-quality and beneficial that way. I use it once to twice a day, in the morning before my cream and at night before bed. But keep in mind that if you go out after using it, the sun will EAT YOU UP. Just use your regular sunscreen after using this cream, so you don't get burned. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s not so subtle that you can barely notice it. The scent is just enough to be really relaxing and enjoyable, without overpowering your separate perfume. I especially enjoy smelling of sweet roses at bedtime; I find it very comfortable, soothing and satisfying. The rose fragrance is a fantastic feature that makes this cream really stand out in the crowded, complex skincare market.. VERSATILITY & EFFECTS Speaking of comfort, the texture of this cream is soft and comforting. It’s about your average thickness, not watery but not butter. A pump’s worth will be enough for athorough coverage of your whole face and neck, down to your décolletage. A pump’s worth is what I use on each arm, for another example. I use this cream everywhere, not just my face, neck, and hands. I haven’t used it long enough to note any anti-aging effects, but right now, along with the fragrance, I love its VERSATILITY. It can be used from head to toe – literally. I keep it on my bedside table and it’s there whenever I need it, for my hands (which is often), or for my new routine at bedtime, when I apply it to my face, neck, chest, backs of my arms, elbows, and sometimes my legs. Already I do feel it’s softened my rough right elbow. (My left is luckily not a problem.) Speaking of rough patches, I used to have severe, all-over psoriasis, one of those wonderful bonus issues that come with my lifelong Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. literally don’t understand how this is one of the best-selling vit c serums on iherb… these stuff balls up so freaking bad it’s like impossible to put this on your face… whoever formulated these products really need to go back in the lab again. you can’t layer other products on your skin at all after these serums cuz they just ball up so badly so tip is to use a lightweight gel-cream moisturiser as your last step. don’t use thick cream cuz the rubbing makes it balls up even more. i think i’ll just use these on my body area if they continue to ball up lmao but i’ll try using them without a moisturiser at the same time and see if it works. if you’re wondering about the smell, it’s not super overpowering but it definitely doesn’t smell natural to me either. this stuff is not fragrance-free so the scent is probably from the chemicals they added. also i did some research on the percentage of vit c in this product, although they never disclosed this information on the label but it contains 0.5% of aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate (AAP). i can’t imagine it being effective with quality and percentage this low, so i definitely won’t purchase again.iHerb Customer

I’ve used a few Vitamin C serums, but this has been by far my favorite so far. It doesn’t have that awful “hot dog water” smell like so many of them have— it does have a mild scent, but nothing overwhelming. I’ve noticed my skin looks radiant and glowy, in a way it didn’t before. It actually feels softer and more hydrated as well. I think it’s pricey, for the size given, but I think I’m gonna have to replace my other Vitamin C serum with this one. I’m a big fan. The only reason I left a star off is because it’s too soon to tell if it’ll brighten my skin, but so far I’m very impressed. It’s also worth noting— I have dry and sensitive skin. If you’re not sure if it’ll break you out— do a patch test on your inner arm before putting it on your face!! I did get this item as incentive to review it, but my review is honest!invisiblechaos
This serum has worked wonders for my light to brown, combo skin. I have always struggled with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation; resulting from almost any skin irritation. From a light squeeze on a pimple to tiny scratch, it always leaves my skin with a darkened mark. Using the serum AM and PM, the serum has cleared the older marks and keeps my skin overall very clear. Please note: My results are from continuous use; nothing happens overnight. A noticeable difference was seen at about 30-days of use. I have left extremely positive reviews on other products by Tula and will continue to buy from this amazing company. The products are always so surprisingly amazing and I pretty much solely use Tula now even though I love trying new brands and have got through so many brands and products throughout the years. I truly that my skin is getting used to this serum, but so far I’ve used it 7 times and every time my skin is beautifully bright, but unfortunately red splotches develop and luckily don’t last, but they look raised and red and irritated. Maybe my skin is too sensitive to this product. Again, Tula is my new go to brand that I rave about to everyone and only wish I discovered it sooner. The serum doesn’t seem to work for me though. I haven’t had pimples or acne or anything like that in years so it must be the serum. I stop using it in between attempts and my skin goes back to normal.Kate

I have tried several different vitamin C serums, and Obagi is really different from the other options out there. I have been using the Obagi 15% for about 6-7 months now. First, I can tell you the color is very, very pale yellow tinged. It also has a very distinct hint of orange scent. What makes it really different, is that I can actually feel it! I mix about 3 drops with 3-4 drops niacinamide serum and about 4 drops hyaluronic acid and squalane morning and night. After applying to clean skin, I notice a very light tingling sensation a few minutes later – nothing dramatic, just a very faint feel. But – that tells me it is doing it's job! My skin tone is very even and fresh looking, and I get compliments all the time. My friends have all raided my bathroom closet to see what I use, and they have all started the same routine!Felecia R
The first time I used it, it seemed to instantly smooth my complexion and even the texture. After three days, my skin looked brighter overall and was extremely soft. After just over a week, my face was no longer oily and my dry patches (all but one area) disappeared. I have used this consistently. The only time I ever felt a tingle was when I used it after the Microdermabrasion Mask. After having using it for over a month already, I hoped I would have seen at least a small difference, especially since I noticed the other changes so quickly. Other things to note: The consistency is much thinner than any other serum I have tried, almost watery. It runs right through my fingers if I'm not careful. Something to be aware of on initial use, as it comes out of the dropper rather quickly, without even squeezing. -Value for the price. After using for over a month, I am still only at the top of the label full. So the price is worth it. My hesitation is that I am still looking for one product that will do a bit more. This is by far the best Vitamin C product I've ever used. My dull skin has become so radiant, bright, and so healthy looking. I use this every day before moisturizer and after cleansing. Nice fresh scent and the texture and consistency is very nice. It dries down beautifully on the skin with no residue or oily feeling. In just 1 week my skin looks and feels totally revitalized, soft, smooth, and with a healthy glow perfect for the warmer months. I can't wait to see what it looks like in a month! Gleamin gifted me their Supercharged Balance Serum. When most serums say to use 1-2 pumps I end up using 4 or more because so little product comes out, but this serum pumps out true to size. This is a liquid serum and 1-2 pumps really is all that is needed for my full face and neck. It spreads wells and absorbs quickly. It is instantly hydrating and lasts throughout the day. With my dry skin I love that it helps improve the skin barrier. The ingredients and their benefits are amazing. I look forward to improved results with continued use. I received this product complimentary from Gleamin in exchange for an honest review, so here it is — this is actually the first time I’ve ever used a skincare product that contains both vitamin C and niacinamide in the same formulation, and I have to say I am impressed! I have dry/sensitive skin, so I was worried it might be too strong and leave my face red/irritated after application. It did not do this at all. I can’t really speak to the long-term benefits of using this serum (i.e. efficacy at reducing the appearance of wrinkles) as I have only been using this twice/day for the past couple weeks, however in the short-term, this fragrance-free, non-sticky/non-tacky, fast-absorbing serum does impart a nice healthy-looking glow within minutes after application. Since my skin is baseline incredibly dry, I find that I need to layer this serum under a moisturizer, although I bet oily skin types may even be fine without. From looking at the product formulation/ingredients alone, I would give this a 5/5 (clinically-proven actives + free of common irritants like synthetic fragrance, artificial dyes, heavy preservatives, useless fillers, etc). All in all, I plan on continuing to use this serum until it runs out, and plan on purchasing more/incorporating this into my regular skincare routine if it proves to be effective in the long term. This is my first product from gLeamin. and I like it! This serum has a thin gel consistency and a very slight earthy natural scent (no added fragrances). I don't need to use much and it absorbs well. It immediately feels soothing on my skin and my skin feels soft and hydrated. With continued use, I am beginning to see a little glow. It works well for my oily/combo skin but I think anyone will enjoy using this. I love the hygienic pump packaging which works well. The bottle looks fun and stylish, but as this contains Vitamin C I would prefer it in a darker packaging. The price point is good for the quality of the product.EMMA P.

Love this product. I have acne prone skin and just started using vitamin c serum in my routine. My skin now has a very good brightness that it did not have before I added this to my routine. I also use a lot of other products by Dr. Dennis Gross which include alpha beta wash, alpha beta peel extra strength, retinol peel, retinol serum, steamer, led mask, and clinical strength peel. Also use acne sulphuric mask, pads, and gel sometimes when skin needs it. The products work together to make my skin soft and healthy. I've tried a lot of Vitamin C serums, but this one is just right! I LOVE this product. This is a high quality vitamin C serum by a dermatologist who backs his products with research. It has a lightweight viscosity that absorbs into skin quickly. However it can leave a bit of a film of stickiness, so not recommended to wear under makeup alone, as it has the potential to pill.Better suited for nighttime routine. Packaging is excellent, as the pump delivers the right amount, not too much, not too little, two pumps should be sufficient for face and décolletage. Skin is brighter. I have been on the hunt for a vitamin C serum since the beginning of COVID and after being recommended this I was initially sceptical due to the price and the amount of product you are receiving. However, after taking the plunge I'm glad to say I would never look back. The results from this Dr. Dennis serum are incredible. I have struggled with mild acne scarring, pigmentation and uneven texture for most of my adult life and only just after 3 weeks of purchasing i'm beginning to see significant results. My acne scarring and pigmentation have both improved remarkably and are starting to even out and become subtle. I've also noticed an overall increase of smoothness of my skin texture. I would usually use this of a night on a clean face before a moisturiser. It can be paired with other serums for an even better and deeper effect, however should be researched first. I would recommend 1-2 pumps as this provides enough coverage for the entire face and even the neck area. My skin is usually glowing the morning after. The serum has a subtle and calming citrus fragrance and can be easily applied with clean hands. Also great to use pre or post at-home dermal roll to promote collagen production.dt7198

CE Ferulic is a beautiful serum. Amongst other ascorbic acid serums, CE Ferulic is pleasant to use, despite also having a hot dog water smell (standard for ascorbic acid) it is subtle and bearable compared to other products. CE Ferulic is also very moisturising on my skin. It is even okay to use on its own without moisturiser sometimes. CE Ferulic gives my skin great luminosity and radiance. However, it does not have an impact on pigmentation (by this point in time I have used Skinceutical's vitamin C serum continuously for around 12 weeks). I see CE Ferulic as more of a maintenance serum rather than a life-changing serum. It did provide a good luminosity to my skin, however it certainly did not have the same wow factor as compared to, say for example, Skinceutical's Silymarin CF. However, for a good maintenance serum I think $233 is overpriced compared to what is otherwise available in the market. I am also not sure why, with this hefty price tag, the serum does not come in an airless pump and opaque bottle given that ascorbic acid is so prone to oxidising. I am not really enjoying the dropper bottle format but I have been storing this in the dark in my drawer and wrapped in foil. It has not oxidised. I had heard about SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic from friends, and remained very skeptical, thinking: right, right, sure, sure. Their skin always looked fresh and healthy. But, still I didn't buy the product. Then, I read a laugh out loud review online by a dermatologist, Christina Haverstock, who said that “They will pry Skinceuticals CE Ferulic from my cold, dead hands.” Okay, okay, I'll try it. So, I was given a bottle, and low and behold, it worked wonders. My mature, patchy skin began to look really actually very good. Then, I ran out. I realized that C E Ferulic had actually been a game changer for my skin. My skin was smoother, softer, spots were disappearing (I had planned to have one removed but the serum took care of that), and my botox lasted much longer. So, I decided to try a LovelySkin order after a long absent when they sent me a note in the mail (smart move on their part). I ordered a bottle of C E Ferulic on discount (yay!), ordered another SkinCeuticals product (I couldn't help it), and got other samples as well (temptation); the products arrived quickly and well packaged. This is a long review to say that I don't use very many products, but this one serum, C E Ferulic, is a product that truly makes a difference for me. I actually get comments about how nice my skin looks, and that's really something when one is over 70. Because of this, I will not lapse again. The pricing of SkinCeuticals’ CE Ferulic reflects years of research leading to the final formulation. Consider this: Many top-tier products come with an A-list price tag (i.e., Crème de la Mer, La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, and the like). Moreover, without academic research and peer-to-peer review, it's challenging to predict how your skin will interact with or absorb an active ingredient. Given the volatile, reactive nature of vitamin C (hence why serums containing Vitamin C are often packaged in a dark brown bottle, which helps protect the product from oxidizing), don't trust your skin to other dupes. Others may perform similarly to SkinCeuticals’ serums, but there’s the issue of safety and reliability. You may be able to find other serums that provide results that are similar to (but not better than) SkinCeuticals’ CE Ferulic at a fraction of the price, but it’ll come with the risk of causing a reaction.menith.s
