I have never used a vitamin c serum before (I tried a retinal cream and it made my face break out so bad so I stoped trying new stuff). This serum is very lightweight and absorbs very nicely into the skin. I was hoping for it to have a nice strawberry scent, however mine has no scent. I love that volition is natural and doesn’t use any additional fragrance to sell their products but sometimes I wish the strawberries were a bit more ripe to get that hint come through. Key word: hint not artificial scent. The recommended “dose” was to use 1 pea size drop, however I don’t feel that was sufficient so I went a little heavier and used 4 pea size drops. It spreads very nicely and absorbs quickly so you don’t feel like you have anything on your face (love that natural feel) it takes about 10 seconds for it to quickly absorb into the skin so for people who don’t like anything on their face (like me) it’s great once you get past those 10 seconds. The dropper is okay, a lot of people have complained about it. I feel that it’s not the greatest quality but it did the job so I can see how some people may have not worked out the best. If your using this as a moisturizer only I would recommend volitions celery green cream. I was recently recommended this product from an employee after she had done a perk facial on me. If you have combination skin that needs hydration, this is DEFINITELY a product to check out. Like others have mentioned, it does have a thick consistency (at least for a serum) but it feels weightless on the skin because (in my experience) my skin drinks this product up IMMEDIATELY. I’ve been using this product for a little over a week now and I can already feel how much better my skin is doing as it recently started to get dry (outside my t-zone) but now my skin feels soft and nourished before I even apply the product. I also had been feeling some texture or “rough patches” pop up here and there and this has basically eliminated those in the short time I’ve been using it. It also doesn’t have a strong scent which I love. Overall, this product just gives you a hydrated feeling after using it. Would recommend first simply placing it in different sections around your face and then rubbing/patting it into the skin after and then allowing it to soak in for at least 30-60 seconds. I must say that I'm a bit tossed in-between giving this a 4 or a 5 star but did settle for a 4-star – here are the reasons why: I love this product because after a few days of using it, I must say that the redness from some of my pimple scars has lightened so much that I'm in a bit of shock! It has definitely brightened up my skin. Not to mention, the scent of this serum is very yummy: au naturel; imagine freshly squeezing juice out of strawberries! I have to admit I was expecting a rather 'fake' scent but nope, not here! I think this serum might have helped a little bit with my excess oil production as my skin is not as oily and in fact just a tad bit drier the next morning (moisturize people!). It's also a sight for sore eyes if you're a fan of pastel pink and a sucker for a frosted glass bottle. Cons? Well personally I found the serum just a bit on the tackier side. You really have to allow around 5 mins for it to completely be absorbed. I've experienced piling (even though it felt dry I thought it's all soaked up). Not too sure if it's due to the oil I am using on top of it (Herbivore Emerald Cannabis Sativa Hemp Seed Moisture Glow Oil). Disclaimer: I am 20 years old, so I can't tell you how well it does on aging, wrinkly skin, but it does make my skin feel amazing. Vitamin C serums are very effective in battling against aging, and promoting collagen growth in your skin. Even if you don't have wrinkles right now, it's always good to start early anyways! I personally have not tried this serum, but I have tried the Orange Blossom Toner and it works great! This toner worked pretty well on my face. I cleaned off the dirt and grime that my cleanser didn't get to. It was kind of like a deep cleaning for your face. It left my face super smooth! It did not take a long time to dry, and it did not leave a sticky residue. It rather made my face look matte. The only reason it got 4 stars out of 5, was because it worked a lot like other toners I have tried. It did not make my face more or less glowy, and it did not reduce my acne. However, I do have an oily face and it helped in that area. The bottle is a glass bottle that has a brown tint to it. It has an orange label that tells you the benefits of it, the ingredients, as well as other ways to use the product instead of a toner which I think is pretty neat. You can see the product on the side so you know how much is left. There is no type of mist or pump for this product, it only has a screw on lid. When you open the lid, you can smell the product right away. It is not a strong smell, it is very light compared to perfumes. Some people say it smells like sweet orange. I think it smells like an orange peel, but not as bitter and acidic. You cannot smell it on you face after you have applied it. The product itself is clear. It is runny exactly like water. One thing that surprised me is that it is only made of one ingredient- Orange Blossom Distillate. I liked it but never felt it was all that amazing. i tried the very popular "c-e-furulic" by skinceuticals and HATED it. it was oily,it smelt like bad hot dogs and i just disliked it very much. I watched a youtube video from a famous dermatologist Who said to have great skin most people only need two products, in addition to cleansers and moisturizers, a vitamin c product and a retinol product. I had this serum for a while using it here and there before watching that video, felt like it was ok but not revolutionary. It contains glycerin, niacinamide, dimethicone and Vitamin C. It has no parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or mineral oil. It is very gentle and I had no redness or breakouts. The Olay Toning Perfection Serum with Vitamins B3 and C promised just that, with Vitamin B3 as its 3rd ingredients and Vitamin C as it 6th. The ingredient list is short, full of chemical names I don’t understand, but based on the order of its listed ingredients, I can definitely say that it matched my experience using the serum. Vitamin B3 helps retain moisture to hydrate the skin. It increases keratonin to smooth out skin texture like wrinkles and such. On the other hand, Vitamin C protects from fine lines and uneven tone while brightening skin. I’ve only used it for 2 weeks but I’m not yet seeing even toning results, so maybe it’ll take longer for me to noticed a more even tone in my skin. However, my skin is suppler due to the B3. The serum comes with a dropper and is easy to dispense while also being hygienic. I usually do 3 drops – forehead, and one on each cheek. The serum is watery (which makes sense, with water being its first ingredient), making it easier to spread. It’s fragrance free and absorbs quickly so I can move on to my next skincare step, all without being greasy. This is all pros in my opinion, since I’m trying to get through all this as fast as possible. Following the instructions on the box, I put the serum on a cleanse face, and follow that with a moisturizer during the morning and nighttime routine. The only con is that I still haven’t noticed a more even tone / healthy glow like the box claimed. Based on my experience and the order of the ingredients lists, I can definitely see Vitamin B3 more in effect than Vitamin C. I’m hoping with a longer use (maybe 4 weeks?), I’ll see a change in an even toning and a more brighten skin. This serum works wonders on even sensitive, irritated skin. I was a bit worried as my skin condition has been all over the place for a few months now (probably mean hormones soon turning 50, face masks, super dry cold weather…the dream team at work). So, hoping for some miracle help, risked a vitamin C serum but was a bit worried it would be too harsh. I bought this product about a month ago and I use it at least once a day, sometimes twice. I started noticing a difference in my skin within a week! For the record, I have terrible skin. It's red, blotchy, uneven, and on top of that I would get terrible breakouts. I chose to post some before and after pictures because even though my skin is still not perfect this product has helped A LOT! I used this for almost a year, but I just couldn't take everything that came into contact with my face turning orange. It would come out in the wash, but it was so aggravating! I would wash my face thoroughly before bed, but even thought 16+ would have elapsed since applying this serum (sparingly!) my towel would be orange after I dried my face. If I changed clothes during the day, anything that touched my face coming on or off would turn orange. The product itself was great, but I couldn't deal with having orange everything. I know I bought this product two months ago but did not start using this until two weeks ago. First reason I got this is because there was a mentioned about helping to lighten dark spots on face. I started using this serum after my vitamin c serum from a different brand finished. I’ve been using vitamin c products for years, so I feel like I do have insight into what ‘works’ and what doesn’t, at least for my skin! With this serum, I was immediately impressed with the color: clear. So many vitamin c serums oxidize (and turn shades of orange) so quickly, but even though I bought this in December, it was obviously still fresh. The smell is also pleasant – at first I thought it’s a bit of a chemical smell, but then I barely noticed it, and it’s certainly nothing negative (for me) and not as strong or irritating as some serums from other brands. The texture was thin and spreadable, without leaving a film or foam as happens with other vitamin c serums. In regards to if it does the job … for years I’ve been trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation, with mixed results, and it might be the case that I’ve done all I can. But if you’re just starting with vitamin c, this could help with pesky dark spots. I have noticed my skin is ‘brighter’ after using it, but without noticeable lightening of dark spots, but I do think my skin has reached a point where I’ve done all I can. In any case, this is a pleasant serum to apply and has plenty of other benefits.EmmaLee

I received a large free sample of this in my last GWP. If you are looking for a real Vitamin C serum which uses L'Ascorbic acid, this is not it. They use a derivative of ascorbic acid which is more stable, but less effective. However, this is still a good serum if you're sensitive to L'Ascorbic acid. It also has other great ingredients, such as their special proprietary ingredient, alguronic acid and the skin-loving, niacinamide. I've been using this every morning the past week and my skin has been super hydrated. The consistency is a very light serum/gel which quickly absorbs into the skin. I am acne prone and this did not break me out. I think this is a nice product if you can't handle L'Ascorbic acid.DebG

I wish I could leave no stars because this product is absolutely horrible, it caused my skin to burn and caused a rash and a whole lot of redness, I would stay up in my bed all night because i would apply this serum at night and it had my skin also itching like crazy, at first i actually thought when i purchased this product it would help, but it made things even worse.shannessia.f

This stuff is amazing! I have only been using it for 3 weeks and I can see and feel such a difference in my skin (I'm 43). My face is no longer oily, which means my makeup stays on all day and looks matte. My fine lines are becoming less noticeable. Even the deep wrinkles between my eyes look amazing! I've even noticed all the clogged pores and blackheads that I used to get on my chin right under my lip are gone. My skin feels firmer and smoother. Highly, highly recommend this.AutumnO

The front of the bottle says 12% Vitamin C but the ingredients list on the back features Ascorbic Acid near the end of the list. Another point to mention is that glycerin and water appear first and which are truly the primary components in this serum. I have used other brands offering good, fast acting, 'stinging' (means it actually works), Vitamin C such as THE ORDINARY. They use different solvents for the acid, not glycerin! If you want a sticky glycerin-water solution that causes all the dirt and pollution from the air to stick on to your face and doesn't offer any benefits AT all after continuous, forced usage, then go ahead and follow these other reviews and purchase the product. I'm 26 and wash and moisturize my face day and night, however, I was watching one of my favorite youtubers skin care routine videos and she was putting all this stuff on her face! Lol. Serums, moisturizers, oils, ALL THE STUFF. So naturally I was curious and began doing my own research on serums and oils and the benefits of applying daily and nightly. Fortunately I was already aware of Piping Rock and their great products so I figured I'd try the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, the Vitamin C Serum, and the Vitamin C Cream. I can't say I've noticed any drastic differences (again I'm 26 and have a baby face), but I know this stuff will be great in the long run and it's important to get into a good skincare routine early on. I do frequent the beach and LOVE tanning, and use sunscreen daily, but it's always good to protect your skin right? I love that this quickly absorbs into my skin so I'm not waiting 10minutes to apply my next serum/moisturizer. I like the smell and it did feel really good after initial use but it was fairly drying at first. My skin felt like I was rubbing against rubber. Don’t get me wrong! I do love it but I was shocked at the initial feel of itamy.c

Hi, my name is Diane and I have recently started using the Tree To Tub products on my face. I love them. First thing I tried was the um soap berry for your face. I washed my face with. It has a wonderful scent and wash it morning and evening and it just leaves my skin very moisturized. It's um very mild. And then after that I dry and I use this, it's called Ginseng Green Tea and it's a moisturizer. I love it. It has all their products have such a lovely light scent and I, you know, put it on my face and it just moisturizes my skin. I think it's making my, I have no makeup on right now. It's making my skin um just feel very moisturized and not quite as wrinkled and my pores are a little smaller. Then after the green tea I use uh the ginseng green tea hyaluronic toner. You just spritz it on a couple of times. It's, it just smells wonderful. I love it. And then the last product I use is the double hyaluronic hydration serum and they all go together and it just hydrates my skin very well. I never feel greasy or oily. I love using hyaluronic serum on my freshly washed skin. It gives it a moisture boost. I have also recommended hyaluronic serum to friends with dry skin or eczema.
