20 Best Vitamin C Serum For Rosacea Skin (Jan 2023 Update)

This serum does what it says “brighten uneven skin tone” and surprisingly moisturizing. The beauty expert says it is important to make vitamin C serum part of your skin care routine. I almost stop believing in that until I began to use this serum. I have a combo skin so cheeks tend to be dry especially during the winter months. I have been using hydra essence from another brand during winter, but sadly it just didn't’t work on my face once the sun kicks in. That was when I was back in the search for vitamin C serum. I have read great reviews about Mario Badescu serum even outside the US. I finally decided to try a sample when ordering an SPF 30 lotion (another great product from Badescu). The first week after using this serum (I use it every other night), I really wished I had tried it sooner! I don’t see my blackspots went away yet but I don’t get any new one ever since I started using this serum.Agnes T.

While this product gets good ratings overall, I just felt it needed an extra "shout out." I have tried various C serums – and I decided to give the Mario B a try. I'm glad I did! One thing people forget, that is that Mario Badescu DOES SKIN and isn't in the beauty game, as so many of the other makers of all things cream, serum, etc., are. So I trust that his products do what they claim. Like others, I use mine in the morning, so that I do not have to discontinue/skip my retinol cream at night. The serum feels thicker than many others when you apply it – and the ONLY con is that you have to work fast to rub it in, otherwise it doesn't spread as easily. The smell is refreshing – a bit like a tree tree oil. NOT perfumey. It takes about five minutes for it to fully sink in, and then viola! Your face will look wonderful. It has an ever so slight tingly feeling that goes away after fifteen minutes or so, but it leaves no redness. I love what it is doing for my skin, and I trust this brand. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I thought I was safe from stretch marks because my mom and grandmother didn't get any during their pregnancies, but I noticed them starting to form at 32 weeks and I was devastated. I'd been religiously applying lotion with vitamin E day and night since my first trimester so I felt really bad. I decided to rub this serum over my forming stretch marks (in addition to the lotion) as it hydrates the skin and helps reduce scarring (that's what stretch marks are, after all). I didn't expect to see a dramatic reduction in my stretch marks after TWO DAYS, and my husband agrees. Don't get me wrong, they're still there, but they're closer to my skin color and harder to see as opposed to the reddish color that they were. I know this is a strange way to use this products and it was made to be used on the face but I just had to mention it in. I still find it pricey but it's pennies compared to laser removal or cover-up tattoos. Best Vitamin C serum I have ever used! 🤩 Lightly scented, super fast absorbing composition (which I live for!), non sticky, non toxic, complete benefits for my super sensitive (acne-prone) skin. It’s very gentle, however the quality of the ingredients suits my frequent everyday usage. Packaging is the cutest as always with Mad Hippie 🥰 It’s been my second bottle and this size lasted me for almost 10 months, so that’s perfect! The only concern you might have and I experienced is if I put too many drops during the summer my skin could dry out a bit more that day, however nothing drastic! I am in my 30s and I have acne prone skin. I have been using the mad hippie vitamin C serum for one year already. I really like it because it absorbs quickly and does not cause acne on my skin. It is very gentle. Before trying my DP, I tried to use a vitamin C serum from a more expensive brand but Mad hippie is so much better. The other brand just gave me acne and they had to visit a dermatologist. But with mad hippie I never had skin problems. I like the fact that this serum already contains hyaluronic acid. With one year of use, my skin is so much better. My face feels smooth and my complexion is even. I don’t have dark spots. I am so satisfied with mad hippie that I will stick to this brand I will no longer try other vitamin C serum‘s because this one is the best for me. I also like the mild scent of the serum. I really wanted to love this as a less expensive alternative to my beloved Drunk Elephant vitamin c serum. I used up two entire bottles and just couldn't love it. The serum never completely dried down and stayed tacky on my face. The stickiness is not ideal for an AM serum that I apply before my SPF and makeup. Also, this tended to pill under my go-to daily Cerave ultra light SPF. After two entire bottles, I did not notice the glowy, brightened, and more even complexion I have come to love using the DE serum. And I found that – even using half a pipette each day – I went through a single bottle in just over a month. One bottle of my beloved DE serum tends to last me a little over three months. The price per use (and lack of noticeable results) just didn't justify the cost for me.shelbydoo

I love all the items from Biossance and have at least 7 of their products. Unfortunately this one is very reactive to my skin (and I had to conduct an elimination test with every single product to identify the culprit). This ended up being the one on numerous occasions. My face swelled up red and blotchy as an allergic reaction. I ended up getting contact dermatitis from this product and had to take medication as a result to control the swelling/inflammation. I trialled it on 3 separate occasions, all independently of any other product (to ensure this was indeed the irritant) and very small amounts. I wish I could recommend this item because I love so many of their other items but this on repeat was highly reactive for me. I would tread carefully with this product just to be sure and definitely trial on a small area (not the face) first. This is to be aware, not to prevent anyone from this item as it did not work for me.Lorraine

I love this serum so much. I have dry, but being in my 40s, also aging skin and I use this nearly every day after I shower or wash my face. I use it along with their squalane oils (regular or rose oil). I use the oils at the end of my shower while my skin is still wet, and then use the vitamin c dark spot serum once I'm out along with their eye cream. This serum has definitely lightened those nasty dark/sun/aging spots I've received from too much sun and sadly tanning bed exposure. Trying to keep my skin hydrated and fight the fine lines and the age spots, while still letting my skin breathe is hard, but I've found my best routines with Biossance's products; you just need to find which serums, creams, and oils work for your skin type, but I don't think you will go wrong in any routine by throwing this one in the mix. It's fabulous. I always keep a backup just in case I run out, not to mention this is also my Go-to gift for my mother who is in her 70s. It has lightened her dark spots on her face and even on her hands. She's thrilled about it. I couldn't recommend this one enough. I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from @influenster @biossance. I have been using the Biosance Squaian dark spot serum with 10% Vitamin C for two weeks. I have not noticed a change, however I do not l believe two weeks is enough time to correct my complexion. I like that this serum is gentle on my skin, considering that it has 10% Vitamin C which is higher for a serum. My skin feels clearer when compared to the other serums I have used and the price is also very reasonable. I have paid over $100 for serums I’ve purchased from the spa which also have 10% Vitamin C. I like that this brand can be purchased at Sephora, most serums with 10% vitamin C I’ve purchased from a spa. I’m taking photos periodically to see if I notice a difference. I also like that this product is made with plant derived squalane. Apparently squalane, mimics your skin’s natural oils, making it an emollient and it’s a natural antiox, which is why I believe this product is gentle and not drying me out. I have used other dark spot correcting serums with 10% vitamin C and I’ve had to apply on more moisturizer in order to prevent my skin from drying out, compared to Biossance. Another ingredient this product includes is white shiitake extract which works immediately and overtime. It’s safe for all skin types and dermatologist tested, as I mentioned, it’s very gentle on my skin so I would have to agree. I will purchase this product because of the added ingredient plant derived squalane and the price. I have tried several different vitamin C serums, and Obagi is really different from the other options out there. I have been using the Obagi 15% for about 6-7 months now. First, I can tell you the color is very, very pale yellow tinged. It also has a very distinct hint of orange scent. What makes it really different, is that I can actually feel it! I mix about 3 drops with 3-4 drops niacinamide serum and about 4 drops hyaluronic acid and squalane morning and night. After applying to clean skin, I notice a very light tingling sensation a few minutes later – nothing dramatic, just a very faint feel. But – that tells me it is doing it's job! My skin tone is very even and fresh looking, and I get compliments all the time. My friends have all raided my bathroom closet to see what I use, and they have all started the same routine!Felecia R

This is by far the best Vitamin C product I've ever used. My dull skin has become so radiant, bright, and so healthy looking. I use this every day before moisturizer and after cleansing. Nice fresh scent and the texture and consistency is very nice. It dries down beautifully on the skin with no residue or oily feeling. I tried the Herbivore Nova Brightening Serum that I was gifted by Herbivore, in exchange for my honest review. First off, the packaging and color of this serum is so bright and fun! Nova Brightening Serum is made with a 15% Vitamin C & Tumeric blend, so it's perfect for those with dark spots, uneven skin tone or just want to help combat the signs of aging! The serum is really lightweight and seems to just melt right into your skin. I've found that 1-1 1/2 pumps is a good amount and you should definitely start with 1 pump until you see how much works for you. The scent is very light and smells natural, but also pleasant. I bought this product when I went to visit Sephora with a friend, and this was recommended to me by one of the employees there to fix my reddened cheeks and complexion (I wanted something to brighten/whiten me out evenly). I hesitated on buying it since it was more expensive than products I usually try out, but I find myself liking how it feels after some weeks on it. It definitely has some smell at first (tumeric) and it's important to clean the place where it's pumped out with a finger (may leave some residue), but it absorbs near instantly into the skin and doesn't feel tacky, gooey, or oily like some serums I tried. For something which seems to have a sort of thicker consistency and its vibrant color, it really is a product which just instantly blends and absorbs into the skin and I really like it. And idk if it's me, but I feel my face is kind of prettier, and I definitely have less rosier/reddened cheeks. Main complaint is that it's really, really expensive, or at least more expensive than what I would've liked my serums to be since I'm not that rich oof. I got a pretty generously sized sample of this in an order a few weeks ago, and after finishing it I decided to buy the full size. For reference, I have very fair, oily, somewhat sensitive, acne-prone skin with mild rosacea. First, let me address the scent. Yes, it smells like turmeric because it contains turmeric (duh). I knew what I was getting so I wasn’t bothered by the smell. I also think the scent is pretty mild and it doesn’t linger. If you don’t like the smell of turmeric or have never smelled it before, this might not be for you. Personally, I was interested in this product largely because of the included turmeric. I struggle with skin redness and the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric can help with that. It’s also supposedly good for acne. So far, I really like this serum. I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks as part of my morning skincare routine. It’s moisturizing and spreads over the skin easily. It’s a gentle formula that hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts. It doesn’t make me greasy, but I find it gives me a really healthy glow upon application. I have a bad habit of picking at pimples and my acne marks take forever to fade, but I do feel like this is helping speed up that process. I think over a longer time period I’ll be able see the effects more dramatically and form a more comprehensive opinion on this product’s overall effectiveness, but I just wanted to write a review with my experience thus far (especially because there are quite a few negative reviews based on the scent).rachellemarie

I can not see this product, NOT working. DERMAdoctor Kakacu C IS highly effective. My main concerns for using a Vit C product, are to keep dark spots at bay and lighten the spots on my face. And, after only using this product since 21 Days of Beauty at Ulta (thats when I purchased it at half price, 6 weeks ago) I'm noticing the darkness on my cheeks are alot lighter. And, I use Vit C products regularly and have for many years! DERMAdoctor has been the most effective. I try to apply just a few drops to my whole face because, if you use too much, it can be sticky. I only use it at night. Some Vit C products, recommend, night use only. C can decay on your skin in sunlight and deems the product ineffective, wasting your money. The Ferulic acid is fantastic ingredient to help the health of skin cells. Sometimes, I mix a few drops of 100% Squalane Oil with a few drops of Kakadu C, to make it less viscous. It absorbs quicker. Squalane is a lipid, we are all born with. By your early 20's, you've lost more than half. Thats the beginning, when, collagen breaks down and fine lines start. Ladies, don't sleep on this serum! I'm not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, but I swear by this serum. I use it everyday when I wake up after washing, toning, essence on my face! I use it with tarte maracuja oil, eye cream, Clinique moisture surge, and my skin feels and looks amazing! I love this serum so much! This is a great alternative to the skinceuticals CE ferulic if you're on a little more of a budget. Both companies put so much research into their products which is what I love. This has a smooth application and dries quick. I have consistently used vitamin C for almost 2 years now. Primarily it's been with the CE ferulic but I was open to trying something else this time and this has been great. My skin has remained looking bright, virtually no changes at all with the switch. I'm going to buy another just to make sure it's working for my face and then i'll decide which brand i'm going to stick with. But I do overall recommend this product. I am so glad I tried Allies of Skin Vitamin C Perfecting Serum! I had tried other expensive brands and wasn't seeing results. When I saw the natural ingredients and the antioxidant formulation Allies of skin uses, I decided to give it a go and I love it! It does not smell and it layers well without causing pilling when I apply my moisturizer afterwards. Most importantly, I have noticed my skin just looks brighter and glows more and I have had zero irritation to my sensitive skin. My skin tends to be dry and this lightweight serum seems to provide just enough moisture without feeling greasy or heavy. The only thing I wish the company would change is the dispenser pump… sometimes it causes more to come out than intended. First time using a vitamin C serum. I chose this product based upon a dermatologist video recommendation but hesitated when I saw the price. Glad I purchased it. The texture is nice. It takes a moment to absorb/dry but once dry, my other products layer nicely over it. After 1 week of night use and then 2 weeks of day & night use, I’m noting that my skin is visibly improved. Dark spots are still there, but I am indeed seeing a smoother complexion with a more even tone overall, (so I’m hopeful that my darkest spots will fade a little with continued use.) I love this product for so many reasons. I tried Vitamin C serums and nothing out there compares to this product. My texture disappeared and it made my face glow. So I have oily/combo skin and I can't tolerate fragrance. Its been that way since I was in my teens. So every new product I'm interested in I read ingredients. This product has no scent and the formula that carries the Vit C is oily. Having said that, my skin is perfectly fine with this formula. Also if you accidentally get to much and your face is taking along time to absorb just blot and everything is fine. The strength is 35% so it will tingle. It didn't sting just tingled and went away in seconds. It even your skin out, polished the texture and gave that , "my face is perfect" glow. Skin type: dry, non sensitive (The white on my face is sunscreen lol) Super cheap for all the must have serum ingredients in one! I was a little worried because of the high vitamin C with retinol and the witch hazel. I feel like the skincare gurus I watch might not love the idea of this product haha but it was on sale for $8 and had all the products I was shopping to replenish. I have been using vitamin C and retinol in my routine for about a year prior to this. I don’t know if I’d recommend it for people new to those ingredients since it’s a high % of vitamin C. I’ve been using this for a little over a week and am already seeing great results! I’ve noticed a decrease in forehead lines and lines around my eyes. My makeup is also going on smoother and holding up longer. I recommend using this after a cleanser, letting this product sit for 20 or so minutes then following up with a ceramide moisturizer. And after that PUT ON SUNSCREEN if you use it in the morning. Sunscreen is always important but especially if you’re using a vitamin C and/or retinol. ☺️malia.s

I usually just review products on the odd occasion and this is one of the good occasions! I don't know if it's just this product or a combination of me using Aveeno Positively Radiant face lotion too but OMG! I recently had a baby and my skin freaked out right afterwards with acne and also got infected with Staph, just bad luck I guess! So, my face was left with a lot of hyper pigmentation. Usually my skin takes months for the hyper pigmentation to subside even a little. For me to see any change is a miracle! My skin is brighter and the texture is a lot smoother. This serum is a bit watery and smells a little strong but I just mix it with some lavender oil (an antioxidant too). This product works. Retin A in the evening with moisturizer, then this Vitamin C product with moisturizer in the morning. The combo will completely refine your skin texture, reducing fine lines, firming and adding glow. But, this stuff smells horrid. Like rancid bacon. If you use the product on your neck, as you should, then get dressed, the scent will linger on your clothes. It's a trade off I guess. I'm about the finish the bottle and came here to reorder, seeing the reviews about the latest batch of product has me on the fence. Let's see I have been using this product for about 6 months now and I love it. I'm Hispanic and in my younger years, I would have said I had oily skin. I live in N.VA and noticed this last winter my skin was dry and old looking. I was pregnant and on the cusp of 40 years old. My skin was in absolute shambles. I wanted a autumn but a lotion type that would provide some moisture as well. I finally broke down and bought this one. First time I used it the smell caught me off guard. For a lot of people it might smell not so great but I love the smell of cloves and that is what it smells like to me. It also made my face tingle the first few weeks but I got used to that and enjoy the feeling now. I have somewhat sensitive skin and turn red from almost everything, not this. I am obsessed with this stuff and use it religiously. I use it more as a preventive measure than anything as the ingredients help protect from sun damage and increase sunscreen efficacy. I have very fair skin and need all the help I can get! I’ve tried several other similar products — mid-range and higher end and I always come back to this one. It has the best texture by far. It isn’t oily or sticky like some serums, but goes on smooth, feels silky on, and absorbs well. It is easy to layer under sunscreen, primer, moisturizer, etc. Compared to other products, it also has better/more powerful ingredients (THD vs L Ascorbate and a higher concentration of Ferulic Acid — 3% vs .5% in most products). I bought this during the Ulta skincare days and was able to snag at 50% off. I figured for the lower cost, it would be worth giving it a try. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes, but after one use, I was instantly a fan. Being a working mom of two, my eyes have suffered from stress and low sleep. I’ve been a QVC customer for many years and never really looked at Perricone due to the price. I’ve have used the Liz Earle moisturisers, Decleor Hydrafloral, Elemis Marine/Oxygenating Night cream and L'Occitaine Immortelle cream before, with the Elemis and L’Occitane creams being particular favourites. So a I’m a bit of a skincare junkie. I first tried the Perricone Classics Nutritive Cleanser in the Tili TSV and fell in love it with it so when this TSV came up, I thought that I’d give it a try as it was on easy pay and had the 60 day money back, and am I glad that I did! I’ve got combination skin that has an oily T-zone and dry checks which can swing from full on oily to full on dry at different times of the year. This collection has been amazing at helping with all different conditions. The cleanser is lovely, doesn’t dry the skin out and brightens the skin, though I still love the Classics Nutritive Cleanser more with its baby powder fragrance. The serum is really light and brightens dark spots. I half press down gently on the pump and don’t have issues with the serum squirting out that some other people have had. The moisturiser is brilliantly light and smells amazing. The night cream looks heavy but goes on a delight and gives a matt finish and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. The neck cream is lovely but has a gluey type smell similar to the Prai neck cream, but not sticky like the Prai cream. I’m very happy to have found this brand and love that QVC gives me the opportunity to try this. I’m now a Perricone convert and look forward to the TSV’s to stock up.SimoneC

I am reviewing the C Ester CCC + Ferulic eye cream since it is new and there is not a spot for it. The under-eye area is the biggest hot spot on my face. It tells everyone when I haven't slept well and am going through a lot at the moment with the death of my dad. It's a constant struggle to find a product that actually makes a difference. It's no secret that I'm a fan of Perricone MD products and it was an absolute pleasure to be gifted a complimentary sample of their Vitamin C Ester CCC + Ferulic Brightening Under-Eye Cream (whew!) to try. Here are my takeaways so far: 1. It has a nice rich texture to it. 2. It absorbs quickly and leaves a soft dewy feel behind. 3. It minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. 4. What a winner! This was a dream to trial thank you! After around 4 weeks of use, applied morning and night, before moisturiser, my skin feels and looks smoother, brighter and more refreshed. Fine lines seem less noticeable and it is a pleasure to use on my sensitive, rosacea prone skin. I particularly liked the packaging – the serum is presented in a squeeze tube with a long pointed nozzle for releasing the product. Always prefer my skin products where possible, to be packaged in a squeeze tube or a pump, as it protects the product inside from air and contamination from handling, as is what seems to be the case in skin care products that come in a screw top jar. It is also fragrance free and doesn't block pores, which is also great for my sensitive skin. This serum has a very healthy dose of L-ascorbic acid, which apparently is the purest form of Vitamin C. This is a brilliant antioxidant as well. Not to mention, it also has Hyaluronic Acid, which is renowned for its moisture retentive properties in locking in the moisture to your skin and making it supple and soft. I usually love Cerave products for what ingredients are included in them as much as the ingredients left out. But this serum just has too much dimethicone in it for my preferences and pills under my SPF. I’ll use up the tube but will not repurchase. In my ongoing search to replace my preferred (and very expensive) vitamin c serums (Sunday Riley CEO, Drunk Elephant C-Firma), I picked this up from HEB. The 10% vitamin c is ascorbic acid, one of my preferred vit c dosages, and it is packed with ceramides just like other Cerave products. The packaging is just right: the opaque aluminum tube protects the light-sensitive ingredients and ensures you can actually use up everything in the tube – you can roll it up just like a toothpaste tube – and the tip of the tube is sealed from air until you break the seal. It has no scent and spreads nicely on the skin, not leaving any sticky residue or shine on the face. This is probably due to the fact that dimethicone is high on the ingredient list. Unfortunately, the large amount of dimethicone just doesn’t sit well on my skin, especially under SPF and makeup. It causes rolling/pilling on my face that looks like I rolled around in a lint trap. Not cute! I gave three stars for quality vit c/ceramide ingredients and effective and smart packaging. But it is a no-go for me and my skincare routine.shelby.h

My review of the Cerave skin renewing vitamin C serum: I have some conflicted feelings on this product. The serum itself yielded really good results; I felt my naturally uneven skintone with small, faint areas of skin discoloration physically looks better after consistent use. After applying for two weeks after washing my face, I felt my skin's uneveness had been largely resolved! I also had some dry patches and inflamed skin on the side of my mouth, as well as some scarring from recent hormonal pimples, and this cleared everything up. What I did not love is the rather small amount of product you receive and the not very aesthetically pleasing packaging, compared to my skinceuticals or glossier serums at least. It was difficult to figure out how to get the product out of the tube, as there's an oddly pointed cap covering a skinny tip of the tube that I ASSUME needed to be cut. I had to cut the tip off the tube to get the product to be released but would really have appreciated if the packaging could have mentioned ANYWHERE that you'll need to cut the tube. Like I said, packaging and presentation is a little bit off but a very good product.djb

This serum works wonders on even sensitive, irritated skin. I was a bit worried as my skin condition has been all over the place for a few months now (probably mean hormones soon turning 50, face masks, super dry cold weather…the dream team at work). I used to have very beautiful skin and it has turned into some red, acne prone, dry and sensitive mess. So, hoping for some miracle help, risked a vitamin C serum but was a bit worried it would be too harsh. This serum feels a tiny bit tingly for a few seconds – not as in painful rest assured – and then is fully absorbed and your skin is ready for your moisturizer. The results are visible pretty fast and I will update if need be but it feels like this is going to stay for a while in my skincare routine. The quality of the packaging and the product itself are really good. The box is not super glamorous and the bottle looks a bit like a medication but I don't mind since how my skin looks is what matters most.iHerb Customer

as somebody who struggled with cystic acne and has been left with hyperpigmentation, this product saved my skin. i have dry, acne-prone, and sensitive skin. this product is not harsh at all and is unscented. i had been looking for a good vitamin c serum, and i found it! for people who say they broke out after one use, after trying a new product, your skin will most likely purge depending on what you are trying! i say give it a chance and if you aren’t seeing a difference after one month, stop using it! i was already seeing a difference around 5 days into using this twice a day. totally recommend 🙂yay

I bought this product about a month ago and I use it at least once a day, sometimes twice. I started noticing a difference in my skin within a week! For the record, I have terrible skin. It's red, blotchy, uneven, and on top of that I would get terrible breakouts. I chose to post some before and after pictures because even though my skin is still not perfect this product has helped A LOT! It helped reduce the redness of my breakouts within a few days of using it and I'm convinced that it has also helped prevent more breakouts. This past month I've only had about 2 bad pimples (which is great for me since I used to get a new pimple every couple of days) but other than that my face has been doing great!maleniux.s

When vitamin C oxidizes, it loses its benefit for the skin within its antioxidant capacity. Vitamin C oxidizes when it makes contact with water, which is why products are made sometimes within a waterless solution to improve the stability of the product while it is on the shelves and within the property of the consumer. This is a waterless vitamin C serum, and it feels sort of oily on the skin without being in an oil-based suspension. It has a heavy feeling. It doesn't absorb very quickly. This product comes in a pump. When I first opened and started using the product, I noticed that the color of the product is a yellowy orange color instead of clear, which indicates that there is already some degree of oxidization already present within this formula, even considering that it is in a waterless solution. ✨Product Performance✨ This product does not have any sort of tingling or irritating effect on my skin, even though my skin is on the sensitive side. It applies like an oil, but it doesn't necessarily feel entirely like an oil – more like propandiol if I had to guess. It does glide across the skin but I do need about three to four pumps to cover the entirety of my face in a thin layer because the spreadability isn't super high. I feel that, this product has a low level of irritation potential, but also it is very gentle and doesn't have that much of a robust effect at the same time. I was gifted by Farmacy Beauty. I have been trying every single vitamin C serum under the sun to combat some sun damage on my skin. This one is different I can tell the formulation was stronger upon application. Because this is the first time I felt vitamin C tingle. I’ve been using it every day for the last five days and I can tell that one of my dark spots is light lighting up. I’m a runner and I try to prevent sun damage on my face. It’s something even if you use the best sunscreen and wear a hat if you spend a lot of time outside sun damage is going to happen no matter what. I’ve even tried laser facials which were very expensive and they didn’t make a difference. I will continue using this even if it only lightens it up a little bit it’s still doing much better than the lasers ever did. The funny part is the Very Cherry serum didn’t help at all but this one is definitely much better than that one. I was gifted this item but don’t let that influence you at all I honestly came into this thinking this serum wouldn’t work. This serum does what it says “brighten uneven skin tone” and surprisingly moisturizing. The beauty expert says it is important to make vitamin C serum part of your skin care routine. I almost stop believing in that until I began to use this serum. I have a combo skin so cheeks tend to be dry especially during the winter months. I have been using hydra essence from another brand during winter, but sadly it just didn't’t work on my face once the sun kicks in. That was when I was back in the search for vitamin C serum. I have read great reviews about Mario Badescu serum even outside the US. I finally decided to try a sample when ordering an SPF 30 lotion (another great product from Badescu). While this product gets good ratings overall, I just felt it needed an extra "shout out." I have tried various C serums – and I decided to give the Mario B a try. I'm glad I did! One thing people forget, that is that Mario Badescu DOES SKIN and isn't in the beauty game, as so many of the other makers of all things cream, serum, etc., are. So I trust that his products do what they claim. Like others, I use mine in the morning, so that I do not have to discontinue/skip my retinol cream at night. The serum feels thicker than many others when you apply it – and the ONLY con is that you have to work fast to rub it in, otherwise it doesn't spread as easily. The smell is refreshing – a bit like a tree tree oil. NOT perfumey. It takes about five minutes for it to fully sink in, and then viola! Your face will look wonderful. It has an ever so slight tingly feeling that goes away after fifteen minutes or so, but it leaves no redness. I love what it is doing for my skin, and I trust this brand. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I thought I was safe from stretch marks because my mom and grandmother didn't get any during their pregnancies, but I noticed them starting to form at 32 weeks and I was devastated. I'd been religiously applying lotion with vitamin E day and night since my first trimester so I felt really bad. I decided to rub this serum over my forming stretch marks (in addition to the lotion) as it hydrates the skin and helps reduce scarring (that's what stretch marks are, after all). I didn't expect to see a dramatic reduction in my stretch marks after TWO DAYS, and my husband agrees. Don't get me wrong, they're still there, but they're closer to my skin color and harder to see as opposed to the reddish color that they were. I know this is a strange way to use this products and it was made to be used on the face but I just had to mention it in. I still find it pricey but it's pennies compared to laser removal or cover-up tattoos. I have suffered from cystic acne since I was about 13 (I'm 27 now and still struggling…) but I swear that this has saved my skin. I have combination, sensitive skin and I almost exclusively break out on my chin. I had found a routine that was working ok but I'm also a healthcare worker so I spend all day in a mask, which has been incredibly detrimental to my progress on my skin. I started using this almost 3 months ago and at first I had some purging, but over the last month my skin has seriously transformed. I received Ursa Major products as a birthday present. I’ve never been good at keeping a regular skin care routine but decided to give it a try. Wow, the difference is significant! The brighten up vitamin C serum is an excellent product! My review today has to do with the new bottle. I liked the old bottle better. The new bottle overall seems bigger and the clear cap is loose so if you pick it up by that cap the bottle will fall out. The spout where the cream comes out is much flatter than the old one, so it drips all down the front and is very messy. I love this company and I love this product. As a serum, in terms of hidratation, not enough for me, since it does not provide enough hidratation, but it brightens the skin and the skin does look more fresh in the morning. Although this serum alone is not hidrating enough for me, I'd would probably buy it again, because it does something good for my skin, it does feel nice nad fresh, although I have to add some hyaluronic serum along with it, but I think it is because of perfect dosage of vitamin C and freulic acid – the measure of both is effective. In my opinion, with freulic acid it is not wise to play around, since wrong dosage can be harmful for sensitive and thin skin, so I have more trust in Acure to bring the right amount of every ingredient, since they know how to provide the perfect measure of the active ingredients, at least they know more than I do when I buy them separated. My only wish is that they add some hyaluronic acid in this serum if it would not be in conflict with other ingredients. Oh, and can they come up with 60 ml packaging? Vitamin C has an excellent safety profile. Most people can use topical vitamin C for an extended period of time without experiencing any adverse reactions. In rare cases, people who have hypersensitive skin may experience minor irritation. This was the case for me, I wish the concentration % would be disclosed. However, it was very minor and the tingling disappeared after a few minutes. I've been using it to fade hyperpigmentation and it very much helped. It takes a few weeks to see the results and must be maintained with regular use. I recommend using it for a few skin renewal cycles so that the older skin can shed and the newer skin can reap the benefits a few times over before making a judgement. This takes 2-3months for me but I did see my acne spots lighten and my skin less red after 30 days so far. A bonus is the nice glass bottle! Hope this review helped!stylishpb

This serum comes out milky white but goes on clear. It does leave a slightly tacky feeling on my hands and face when I apply it. I don't notice that it has a strong smell like some but smells generally don't bother me. What it does is work! And it doesn't burn my sensitive skin. I have tried a lot of serums but especially for the price this one is great. I just ordered another bottle. Living in Arizona in the summer has its challenges when you think about your skincare regimen. You can’t wear anything that is to heavy or it will just slide right off your face once you step outside the door. Well let me tell you this Vitamin C brightening is the best I have tried. You don’t feel like your pores are being clogged and when you hit the heat it stays in place. I am going on 60 and I finally feel like I have something that will make me feel refreshed everyday. I love this serum! I can't believe how it is transforming my skin. At first I did experience a few breakouts but my skin has adjusted nicely to this product. The overall texture of my skin is better and a touch more youthful looking. This vitamin C serum is a lightweight oil based serum that uses the super stable and effective form of vitamin C – THD ascorbate. It contains a moisturizing mix of squalene oil, sunflower oil, and moringa oil with algae extracts. I found it to be brightening and softening but the oil texture was a little harder to pair with my sunscreen and face cream, and I found it worked better to apply this after my face cream instead of before it due to the oil base. It was overall very gentle and required around 4 drops to cover my face adequately. I love the bottle and the ingredients of this unique vitamin C product.mshell1445
