This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. It is a runny mess to use and I suspect I use too much when it doesn’t expand. Hair ends up heavy and frozen as if it is still wet. I will not purchase this product again.Jenny
Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

I honestly…love any type of mousse that can help my hair have more volume. This is one of those. I had gotten this mousse on sale at my local Walgreens with a coupon. I really love this product and a lot less expensive than Aquage root lift. Shake really well, hold the can upside down and apply directly to parted hair at scalp only. I have long, fine hair with below-average thickness (not thin, but definitely not thick). I have been getting American Waves (a chemical process similar to a perm) for six months, which gives me a 2A/2B very loose waves. (My natural texture is "bendy", a mix of type 1 and 2A.) This is one of many products I have tried for air-dry styling*. I have used medium-hold gels, salt sprays, mousses, and air-dry creams. This is my favorite product so far for Day 1 results, but doesn't perform as well on Day 2+. What I like: – Like other Moroccanoil products, the smell is amazing and not too strong. – Very rich thick foam (definitely feels like a luxe product) – Gives nice definition and volume on Day 1 – Lightly moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down – Not sticky at all What I don't like: – It's pricey – On Day 2+, my hair looked "mussed". I still had good definition, but my whole head had more of a frizzy/fuzzy "halo" that I get with my favorite products (or no products). That said, I am still inexperienced with wavy styling, so that might be due to my (lack of) refresh technique. It maintains a nice shine and gives gentle lift that I need for my Bobbed style haircut. It is not as strong of a hold as I would desire, but it does provide some hold, and it is so much nicer than chemical laden products. Love that it is clean and actually helpful, rather than harmful to the health of my hair.
This Mousse is wonderful! I have 2b fine curls, so I don’t get much volume naturally. My hair lies pretty flat without products. However, this works great. I especially appreciate it because some cheap quality hair products cause me to have breakouts around the hairline, not EVOLVh!
This is the first mousse I have ever loved. It gives amazing volume with no sticky film and I love that it’s clean. It works great whether my short bob is styled straight or wavy/curly. Even if I refresh my hair with a little elixir or leave in conditioner the next day my hair is never weighed down or sticky. Seriously can’t live without this product.

I use this before I blow dry my hair, which is medium thickness, dyed blonde and wavy. It works really well in holding volume and making my waves look more controlled. It also lasts well into the next day and day after. You won’t even need dry shampoo until day 3! However, like most mousses, it will make your hair feel a bit stiff and definitely dries it out. I just love this stuff, I had lost all my hair cause I was doing chemo and when my hair started to come back it was not as thick as I once had so I missed my volume and where it was still short I needed it. I applied this product on my wet hair. I used a blow dryer to blow dry sections of hair and roll them in roller pins. After taking them out I did not feel like the added product helped give me a volumizing finish. It made my hair feel sort of clammy and dirty. Overpriced and didn’t do much for my liking. I was able to try this product after i found it at the dollar store. I don't particularly use mousse very much anymore but I will use it from time to time. I really like got2b products and have had good experiences with them in the past so I ended up using this product daily. The product is supposed to give you extra volume which is something I really want in my style. It also has an average price of 6.99 which is an ok price for a drugstore mousse…. I was able to get it cheaper since i found it at the dollar store. After washing and towel dying my hair i put a handful of the product into my hair and style as desired. Does exactly what I want my mousee to do! Okay, just like the hairspray, the first thing I noticed was the heavenly scent. It really does smell great! To me, the scent was so nice that it almost smelled more like a perfume than a hair product. That matters to me, because, well, lets face it, our hair is right by our nose, and who wants a not-nice scent right there all day? So, before I even tried it, I liked the scent. I used it a few times, and was very happy with it. My hair is fairly long, and naturally wavy, but it's also really, really fine. So that means that it often can feel flat. And the roots especially can feel awful to me, just really super-flat and unattractive. So I really liked this mousse because it helped keep my waves in, and my hair where I wanted it to be, and, on top of all that, it gave it volume (especially at the roots! Yesssss!). The other thing I really liked was that it did all this without making my hair feel sticky, or gunky or anything, or too stiff. My hair still felt nice and soft. Oh, and, also, I really love the colours of the can of mousse….it's a pretty, vibrant, cheer-you-up combination of colours – a nice bright yellow, and a lovely bright magenta. Maybe that sounds like a strange thing to mention, but I am the kind of person who always notices all the details, and I'm also the type of person who likes things to look nice; if I'm going to have a can of mousse out on my bathroom counter, why not have it be something that looks nice, right?

My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I am so glad that this product is still around. I've been using it off and on for years but wanted to experiment with other styling products. I can honestly say, none of the products I tried can compare to the Phomollient. The light and airy foam is deceptively strong; even holding up in the humidity without weighing my hair down. It still has that wonderful musk scent and remember and zero buildup when I shampoo. I can't recommend it enough!Noreen
I have very thin, fine, slightly wavy hair that is color treated. I’m a beauty product junkie and have been let down so many times, but not with this product! I used to keep my hair short because it’s so difficult to make it look full when it’s a bit longer. I’ve recently grown it out past my shoulders so I can do more with it (updo’s for weddings mostly). I absolutely love this product. I have fine and frizzy 3B curls that are easily weighed down by products. This phonollient is a super light weight styling foam that leaves my curls well defined, bouncy, shiny, and full of volume with no frizz. It is now my holy grail product to take care of my curls in addition to the light nutriplenish Aveda line. I used to use DevaCurl products for years, but after they had problems I searched high and low for a trustworthy and safe hair care line. I am so glad I found Aveda! I recently bought a can of Suave – Firm Control Boosting Mousse and loved it — for about three uses. The mousse, when used sparing, gave just the right body to my fine hair – very pleased with results. After the third or fourth use, however, the can became non-functional. Therefore, thinking I bought a defective can, I bought another can and after only two uses had the same experience. Running the nozzle under hot water only "fixed" one can, but then the product came out as a liquid, not with mousse consistency, even after a solid minute of shaking. You need to fix this issue: It's very frustrating. From what I have been now reading in reviews, this same packaging issue has been taking place for at least three to four years. I am a big fan of your products, but if the packaging cannot become functional, my business will go to competitors, as my current purchases of this product are an obvious waste of money.Kathianne
You get a lot of the price but …. This is supposed to be max hold. I have curly/wavy hair, I need mousse to leave a cast. This didn't leave any cast on my hair, its like i didn't even put mousse in my hair. It did nothing, but maybe add some body and fullness. I will go back to my regular brand and toss this out.MrsMac
The BEST product for taming frizzy hair and keeping the curl for 2 days. I have tried every gel, foam, product claiming to keep curly hair curly. Most leave your hair goopy and only last a few hours. This ( and the pink mousse) both control the frizz and sculpt the curl . I apply to clean towel dry hair. I comb thru and then scrunch the hair. Sometimes I put clips in until it's mostly dry. The result is bouncy curls that last thru 2 days. The first day can feel a little crunchy, but by the 2nd day, the curls are soft, even after sleeping on them. I highly recommend this. And the price can't be beat. Thank you Suave for making a product that does not dry my hair. And when you rinse it out, it feels like conditioner.Michele

Good for after shower curl styling/plopping. Pleasant natural smell. Hair is really soft and feels like it's getting moisturized. Curls feel malleable. Not a strong curl hold overnight, but my hair still feels better in the morning, more moisturized by it. Pretty easy to reapply throughout day. I have low porosity, auburn loose waves.Megan
I really like this mousse for my waves/curls but I wish it combated humidity. it sadly doesn't hold up throughout the hot days either, regardless of scrunching out the light crunch or not. my hair is between chin and tops of shoulders and cut shaggy so I know its not the length weighing it down and i only use one other product with it, Olaplex smoothing bond styling creme. overall though i do like it a lot. but once this bottle is finished ill be on the hunt for another mousse that can withstand the heat and humidity.kalirocker
So i had really high hopes for this because the brand looked interesting and the smell was great. I tried it once on freshly washed hair to see what it could do as a stand alone product. The answer was…. absolutely nothing. I saw my waves starting to leave their clumps even while i was putting it through my wet hair because it encouraged so much frizz. I chalked it up to not using it right so i used it again a few days later on damp unwashed hair with my normal defining cream and it looked promising! For about 2 hours after it dried at least. Then my hair was just a poofy frizzy mess. I may try it again and use my gel, but i am no lomger feeling optimistic about this product. It smells nice and l3aves my hair soft but does absolutely nothing for definition and frizz on my hair.Ry
