I have fairly fine hair that is not thick and runs oily. This product gives me all-day natural volume whether I choose to wear my hair with its natural wave or blow it out in a straighter style. It feels touchable; I don't feel any buildup or oiliness. I am pretty sensitive to scents, that is my least favorite thing about this product as it does have an artificial confection-like scent but that dissipates after a little while if you can wait it out. When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have long, fine hair with below-average thickness (not thin, but definitely not thick). I have been getting American Waves (a chemical process similar to a perm) for six months, which gives me a 2A/2B very loose waves. (My natural texture is "bendy", a mix of type 1 and 2A.) This is one of many products I have tried for air-dry styling*. I have used medium-hold gels, salt sprays, mousses, and air-dry creams. This is my favorite product so far for Day 1 results, but doesn't perform as well on Day 2+. What I like: – Like other Moroccanoil products, the smell is amazing and not too strong. – Very rich thick foam (definitely feels like a luxe product) – Gives nice definition and volume on Day 1 – Lightly moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down – Not sticky at all What I don't like: – It's pricey – On Day 2+, my hair looked "mussed". I still had good definition, but my whole head had more of a frizzy/fuzzy "halo" that I get with my favorite products (or no products). That said, I am still inexperienced with wavy styling, so that might be due to my (lack of) refresh technique. Then I dry-plop in a microfiber towel after scrunching in a styling product (or not). After air drying, I zhuzh the roots for volume. This didn't do anything for my hair–maybe my hair is just too fine/thin? I have long, very fine/thin hair. When I first started using this I started out with maybe 7 pumps and ending up going up to 14 pumps with basically no results. I put it in freshly shampooed, damp hair. I experimented with blow-drying and allowing my hair to air dry afterward. With both forms of drying, my hair looked fluffier (than using nothing at all) for about the first 2 hours then fell completely flat and limp like I didn't put any products in it. The only pros were that it did not have an overpowering smell, was lightweight and did not make my hair greasy nor did it dry it out like some mousses can but it just didn't live up to it's claims of volume and fullness. Given the amount of positive reviews on it, it's probably just the fact that my hair is just too fine! I would only recommend this to someone if their hair is of normal thickness or thicker. What? I have volume! I kept thinking why is my hair looking so good and then it hit me. That lovely gentle mousse I applied….worked. First time ever that a voluminizing product has worked for my fine highlighted hair. I also have terrible eczema on my hands and this mousse was like a dream come true it didn’t sting it didn’t make my hands itch it just actually did what it was supposed to do. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I bought this primarily because hairspray usually doesn't have the greatest smell but THIS smells soo good! This product comes in a variety of scents and hold coverage ranging from 1-4 with 1 being the least to 4 having a max hold. This specific one is labeled as 4 and let me tell you, when you apply be sure to have your hair exactly how you want it to be because there's no turning back. 😆 A little goes a long way. I have had this same can for a year now. It adds shine but doesn't make my hair ever look greasy. In fact, after a day my hair is more on the oily side and when I use this it actually doesn't look as greasy the following day. Seems to help with the oil. This works great in humidity too. This has an orange base color and a fragrance that reminds me of Tangerines. It is light in terms of feel and therefore rinses easily as well as the shampoo lathering up well. My hair is long and straight with problems regarding tangles and my need regarding conditioning varies. In terms of a fresh clean smell and look this pair seems to work as the residue washes out and body as stated then is allowed in. I would highly recommend the line based on what else I read on the bottle- but had issues finding out what the raised lines were and located. I feel if going to so much trouble, it needs to be very evident and show up stronger as separates the company from others. The other descriptions are also what consumers may be looking for and in advertising needs to also separate distinctly. On the bottle it is on the back label which may be missed. I will say they are for everyday, but when I need to deep condition with tangles, it may not be my choice of conditioner. It would be recommended for specific people or hair styles and hair needs. I do highly recommend the Hair plus Body Wash Shampooing and Gel Douche for most hair types in basic use.Eve812
I really like Herbal Essences as a brand. So I've tried a lot of their products. They are good value @$3-$4 per most items. They pretty much all smell great. Which is also the case with Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Mousse. Easy to use. Smells great. But didn't quite get the volume I was hoping for. I noticed with my curly hair that if I kinda scrunched the mousse in them blowdried my hair that it did seem thicker.cristina.g

I really don't know if this works! The perfume, stinky odor just made me sick!! My husband came in and wanted to know what stinks. I almost got back in the shower to wash it out. After about 30 minutes, the stink apparently went away. Will not use again!! Disappointed with Rusk!! Thought it was a trusted brand!!Not Happy
