It is sticky, stiff, and crunchy. I found that using a much smaller amount than the directions recommend, eliminates the stickiness. However, it’s still stiff & crunchy, which I find rather disappointing. Miracle Blowdry does provide good volume, but isn’t very humidity resistant. I've been using curl smith feather light curl cream which adds AMAZING curl definition, my curls have never looked better. The down side is it weighs down my hair. When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. This works as well as any, and better than most. I definitely get volume from it, though I'm always looking for more, and it doesn't leave my hair full of static as many mousses do. My hair is very thick and very straight, so it has to work pretty hard to provide some lif, but does so without being stiff or stickyt. It also lasts a long time in the can, which I think is a big plus, as other pretty good mousses often turn to useless liquid, no longer foam, before the can is empty. I hate that. I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. Ouai Curl Crème has my curls screaming, "oui, oui!" I have natural roots, ends relaxed and dyed (damaged), mix of curl textures (2b-3c), long length. This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. This does absolutely nothing for my hair, and that’s including if I leave it in for over five minutes as you would a mask. The smell, like the shampoo is divine, so I want to love it, but just can’t. I’m always looking for volume and bought the deluxe trial size to give it a go. This gets rave reviews, but I wasn’t impressed. It’s a foam product that is applied to damp hair at the roots. It requires a lot of babysitting, whether you blow dry (I do not, unless it’s absolutely necessary for a quick look) or air dry. A lot of brushing is required and I just didn’t get results. It gave my hair noticeable volume doesn’t have a super strong scent, but I had to return. It left my color treated hair feeling very dry brittle. Maybe I was using too much, but I’ve used Color WOW’s volumizing mousse with the same amount that made my hair soft. This one would also get my hair stuck in my round brush when blow drying left my hair very frizzy due to the grit it gives your hair. If you’re okay with that then this product is great for volume, but I’m not a fan of my hair feeling dry frizzycallie.h
This is my favorite hair product when I go out or the weather is just not cooperating with my hair. I have very thin and fine plus straight flat hair that is very hard to give any volume. Most products have to keep being sprayed or applied over and over again and then my hair has a sticky residue weighed down by the product. I only use this once or twice on a very important evening so it last a long time and you always get your moneys worth. I highly suggest this product if you have stubborn straight flat hair like me. The IGK No Limit thickening spray gave my hair the volume I didn’t know you needed! This product is AWESOME!!! It is great for my thin hair. I have very thin hair and I have a lot of it, so it is flat unless I clean prep and blow dry it. It gets greasy and falls by the following day, so any volume I get does not last long. Was hoping this would extend the volume on the second day or bring some life to my curls, but if it made any difference at all it wasn't noticeable. 2 stars because my hair is so flat and thin that it may work on other hair types? Used with IGK charcoal dry shampoo, which honestly provides more volume (at the root at least) alone. I suggest using mousse when hair is wet, blow drying, and getting some powder to throw on the root for volume and a texturizing putty for braids/curls/other styles. Then dry shampoo the next day and some more texturizing powder. In the meantime, I'm searching for a good volume spray for a quick pick-me-up (literally) on the day after a blow dry/style to use with dry shampoo, that won't make my hair crunchy, weigh it down, or make it feel too much grosser than dry shampoo does (tall order, I know).Olive
I love that the volumizing ingredients in this product are Nordic cotton and plant protein complex. My hair loves protein and this product does not make my hair feel dry or damaged! That is particularly important to me as I don’t bleach my hair as often anymore. Thus I need the volume at the roots, but once other products are brushed into the bleached part of my hair, they often make it dry and brittle. Not this product! I always hesitate to give something a 5 star rating. But I have had this for a month and I feel like I have used it in combination with all my fave shampoos and conditioners as well as other styling products I use regularly and it performs consistently for my hair type. I have light blond highlights to enhance naturally graying hair that's cut in a short multi layered asymmetrical bob, it's also naturally wavy and fine with NO natural body or texture. I mostly use Aveda products to wash and condition. After applying a curl creme and diffusing my hair, I apply this to my palms and rub to liquidate and turn my head upside down, rubbing my palms through my scalp. This fills in all flat spots like magic. Then I finish with Aveda Air Control hairspray. Great for my thin textured straight hair when I want to add definition to my curls. It doesn’t have much hold power but keeps the curls from blending together. The scent is lovely and light without being over powering. I wouldn’t apply this to the roots, only the mid section to ends of the hair. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I would suggest checking The Doux’s channel on YouTube to see how she uses the styler depending on the length of the hair. I have a short natural tapered cut and the mousse works best went I finger twirl the top and front. I love the slip and the shine. Even though the hold is soft – it survives my sweaty workouts. I bought Kevin Murphy products by suggestion of my stylist. I got the Smooth shampoo and conditioner. This is some of the worst shampoo and conditioner I've ever used. Herbal Essence smooths my hair more than these products! The shampoo and conditioner are so harsh are my curly hair, it is left dry and brittle after each time I've used it. My scalp is always itchy also. I use a wet brush in the shower to comb through the conditioner and detangle my hair, but it is a work out with this conditioner. There is no slip. After my hair dries it ends up severely tangled, knotted, and deprived of moisture. Not only are the products poor quality but the packaging is terrible. It's really hard to pop open the caps. I have had to unscrew the lids off every time to get product out. You also can't squeeze them much so that makes it difficult to use all of the product in the bottle as well. Lastly, the smell isn't very nice either. It's tolerable, but not preferable. I wish I could say there was anything redeeming about these products, especially since they were so expensive, but unfortunately these are a huge miss and I can't imagine why any salon is carrying them.Shannon

To be honest I was a little dubious buying this – have always found Mousse is key for my hair and thought this would probably not be as good as my usual product. How wrong I was – the Mousse is quite dense, so you really do not need a lot on your hair. It defined curls really well and more Importantly two days later they still look the same . I’ve not used mousse since the 1990s, and back then it would leave my hair feeling dry, hard and separate my curls. But as I’ve loved other Only Curls products I thought I’d give this a go. I received this sample size product complimentary to try from Influenster and Moroccanoil for my honest review and opinion. I really liked the smell of this cream. My hair is kinda weird it’s curly underneath but on top it’s more wavy and frizzy. The parts where my hair is naturally more curly curled super pretty and looked great but the wavier pieces it didn’t change much. It felt a little heavy also but I may have just used to much product. I feel i would need to use it a few more times to give a more accurate review but right now I’d say it’s an average curl defining cream. I also let my hair air dry and I’m curious how it would look if I used a diffuser. I think I’ll end up buying a full size and give it a try. My daughter also has curlier hair than I do and I feel it may be better with her texture and curl. Overall I liked it and would recommend it for anyone with curlier hair.Meliss86
I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. Received this as a free sample from Influenster. The sample size was a bit too small for me to get a full idea of how this product works for my hair specifically as I usually need a few weeks of use to make a fair judgement, but from a limited perspective, my takeaways are as follows: Smell- amazing, the standard MoroccanOil smell Texture- I prefer styling creams and used this in place of my current one and I did notice that this left a bit of a shell to my hair after use. If I had enough to try again, I may use a bit less product next time, though I didn’t use much. Seems pretty concentrated. If I had received a full bottle, I do think I’d continue to use it until it ran out but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this item. Everyone’s hair is different and mine reacted sort of “meh.” Not bad but not impressive either. I think fans of the line will not regret the purchase, however I didn’t find that I had any urge to switch from my current styling cream (although this one smells so much better)roxanneh

This product does exactly what I need it to, and is very easy to use! I feel as though the more you use it, the more you see results too. Even on the first day of use my hair looked thicker, healthy, and more alive. The product is not very greasy, and washes off of the hands easily. My hair has been much more manageable and easier to style as well. This is the first hair volumizer I have ever used, and I have a feeling I will have to look no further. I use this after Frizz Be Gone Hair Mask and air dry my frizzy, wavy , thin hair for about 2 weeks. So far, it provides light hold and some volume. Using 2 products together (the 2 on the right in the photo), my hair looks more healthy with a bit of sheen instead of frizz. Hope the results will be better with continuous use.iHerb Customer
