The easiest part of our fireplace installation was the purchase. The people we dealt with were very accommodating and we received the fireplace on a timely basis. When we made the decision to renovate/update our living room, there were 2 things I was looking for in an electric fireplace: 1. Modern – we wanted something that was different that before, and wanted the linear look. We opted not to purchase the trim kit (although you couldn’t go wrong there either) and absolutely love how it turned out. 2. Realistic Flames – I didn’t realize how many generic/fake looking options there are. After doing enough research to write a syllabus on electric fireplaces, we went with the Dimplex Ignite XLF50, and couldn’t have made a better choice. Installation was fairly simple, and the finished product and look turned out better than we ever could’ve imagined, as evidenced by the number of people who can’t believe it’s not gas. I don’t typically write reviews, but trust me when I say that if I could give more than 5-Stars I definitely would! I got an XLF60 a year ago and LOVE IT! Everyone that has come to my house wants one. It is not loud, even on the highest heat setting, as the other reviewer posted. In fact, it is so quiet that if I do not have the lights on I have almost forgot to turn it off before leaving the house. Yes, the heater can be ran with no lights. There are several heat settings, as well as, multiple color options and brightness levels, which are a gorgeous ambiance especially at night with the lights off. The heat comes out from the top of the unit. The unit itself does not get hot so if you place yours lower to the ground like I did mine it will not burn a child or animal. My dogs love laying in front of mine when the season turns cold. I also ran mine alot last winter and it did not make my electric bill skyrocket either. It was also fairly easy to assemble and install. I say fairly easy to assemble because my husband and I were a little confused at first how to install the glass mirror that goes on the inside but once we figured out you have to unscrew and remove the entire pre-assembled bar at the top the assembly took maybe 10 minutes after that. When I purchased the fireplace(purchased directly from RW Flame’s website)I specifically ask if it includes both the decorative rocks and logs. I was told it did. The fireplace only came with the rocks. I have made several attempts to contact RWFlame and they completely refuse to respond. I love it! I chose the 42 inch vs the 50 inch and I’m glad I did. It’s the perfect size. Installation was pretty easy once I figured it out (the instructions aren’t super clear, so read them carefully before install). I love that it can be recessed completely into the cabinetry. One thing that would be nice is if they added some crackling fire sound effects, just to add to the ambience. This was a great value for the price.Cory H.

Months of reviews prior to purchase. This product came out on top and we have not been disappointed! Ease of purchase, quick delivery, hung and fully functioning within an hour! It is quiet, beautiful and one of our best purchases ever! Initially, we were afraid it wasn't going to work….BUT, we quickly remembered the remote (thankfully we had just purchased batteries for another appliance and had a couple left!) Well I would love to rate my experience using my fireplace if I ever received it. It’s been close to a month and no fireplace. The company Central freight lines has failed to deliver this fireplace three times. I’ve taken off of work three times to receive this fireplace and I’ve lost more money than the fireplace has cost waiting for it to show up. I am way out of the window given from you guys to receive the fireplace. I called modern blaze yesterday and they were supposed to call me back letting me know after they spoke to their shipping company and the manufacture when I would get my fireplace. I have received plenty of emails to rate my experience, but you guys have yet to fulfill this order. Can you see the redundancy in this review. Purchased the Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline 50'' Wall Mount / Recessed Linear Electric Fireplace. Unfortunately after approximately two weeks of use, the unit inadvertently turns on by itself. Contacted the company and they said this was unusual. Thought it could be the main control panel or triggered by other device signals in the house. They sent me a replacement control panel which requires me having to take the unit apart and install the new panel. An inconvenience I wasn't expecting having paid $1100 for what I thought was a top end unit. At that price I would have expected to be provided with a new unit. Disappointed to say the least. We love our fireplace, the Dynasty Harmony BEF- 57”. It was easy to install and even easier to operate, energy efficient and has a variety of options for customizing the look. In addition to controls hidden on the front of the fireplace, the Harmony BEF also comes with a remote control. The remote controls all of the features including the 3 different Flame Colors and 13 different Bed Color Options! Our favorite choice is the simple orange flame with the bed colors off, which we think provides the most realistic look. It also has a heater which is really nice on chilly days! The heater is front facing, which means you do not need to add a vent when installing! Because of the way our builder framed the fireplace wall (which was before we knew which fireplace we were going to buy and couldn’t be reframed easily due to where the headers and king/jack studs were located), we were limited to a unit where the back inset height dimension was less than 17.75” and this was one of the only 50” models that would fit as most others need 18” height. We have no issue with the look or performance so far. The reason for only 4 stars is the very vague instructions with drawings so small they were difficult to decipher. We couldn’t find any installation video for this model, and the majority that we viewed show flanges that are screwed into the studs on either side of a unit. However, on this model we finally figured out that you have to stick a screwdriver into a cut out from the front of the unit through a hole in the back and into a support stud behind. Adding that extra stud wasn’t difficult as we were dealing with an open wall at the time, but a simple video or larger pictures or more detail in the instructions would have earned 5 stars.
I think foremost, I agree with many of the other reviews saying the flames could be more prominent. In comparison to the glass beads provided, the flames get washed out. I'm considering adding some window tint to the bottom to see if that will balance them out, but for the time being my wife is happy with it. The other thing I notice is a hum coming from it. I've tried plugging it into various outlets to see if it was the particular outlet, but that didn't appear to be the case. It's not obnoxious, but it is there. Others reported it to be silent so I'm not sure if the one I have is slightly defective. I installed this next to the bathroom bathtub which of course is a smaller room and echo-y, so maybe it's just more noticeable in that type of environment. It was added more for ambience so the heater unit hasn't been used much, but it is functional. Installation was pretty straightforward. The unit was the depth of a 2×4 so I had to cut through one completely for the 36" model, and so it sits pretty much flush against the wall. Calling it easy to install should be taken with a grain of salt since it did require cutting a big whole in the wall, cutting out part of a 2×4 (with a finished wall on the opposite side) and installing an outlet, but certainly feasible for most do-it-yourself-ers. I'd like to give it 4 stars if it wasn't for the hum. I wish there was more info (or less conflicting info) as to whether or not it was making a normal amount of noise. I don't want to bother getting a replacement only to find that's the typical amount of noise. In the end, the wife is pleased with it so it's good for the price.
We absolutely loved our Fireplace. We had it built in (see photo). We never received a remote, contacted the seller, told them about the remote the rattling noise. They requested I send them a video to help detect the problem. I’m older not to savvy with technology…. I couldn’t get the video to send through the ap.. After several frustrating attempts, the seller gave me a phone number to text the video to, it worked!! Once they received it, they were great to work with. They said it was the motor they would either replace the Fireplace or give us a full refund.

Love this insert. We have added an antique mantle and fireplace surround to what once was a blank wall (still missing our final arch pieces in the attached photo). I received our fireplace and mat packaged very well without any damage. The Fireplace Store had the best price for the log set and the mat. The set up took minutes! I love the look of the fireplace and have it on most evenings because it looks so pretty. If I have something near the fireplace, I catch myself thinking I better move it before it gets too hot and then remember there is no heat. I put my phone in the fireplace with a You Tube video of a crackling fireplace and it is absolutely realistic. The heater does eventually heat up a room but does not have a huge output of heat. If I sit in front of the fireplace I can feel the heat but maybe because we have a big old house, it doesn't make too much of a dent unless its on for a couple hours. Even then, it warms the room a couple of degrees; enough to keep the heat off and make the third floor rooms cold. (we live on the 2nd and 3rd floors) The ring you see from the mirrored glass is not a big deal to me because the flame is so realistic. You'll get used to it. When the lights are out at night, I don't always notice it. Finally, I happened to have a small set of ceramic logs that I bought for a gas fire pit. I brought them inside along with some pine cones and gently placed them to fit in this fireplace. They look great! I used this for my daughters room since our central heating doesn't heat her room. It's wonderful. It can get the room either sweltering hot or warm. The added plus is how cute and stylish it is. I don't have to put it away in the winter because it looks like decor in her room. The top does not get hot so small little decor pieces like a picture frame etc. can be placed on top of the fireplace. Definite must buy instead of your standard heater. This "fireplace" is adorable! I wanted it for looks/ambiance and for the few days a year it's actually cold here in FL. The picture is from after Christmas, so it's not decorated so much anymore, but I also wanted a mantle to put cute things on. It says not to put a tv on it (which I didn't) but if secured to the wall, it would hold a small one with no problem. It looks adorable with my handmade stocking strip above it! It fit perfectly on the small piece of wall I wanted sit it against! The heater makes a noise but it's a low hum. It really kind of blends in with any other background noise. When it 'clicks' off, that's audible. The heat is fine. I had the back door open for fresh chilly air, then had the fireplace on for those in my house whom aren't fans of the cold air. Our house is very open concept and at a VERY LOW setting, the fireplace kept the house at about 68 in the main areas. This is when it was 30 outside. Putting it together was super easy. I was a little apprehensive about putting it together after reading that it takes 90 minutes. I'm not sure how long it actually took me, but it turned out to be so easy! The instructions were easy to understand. The fireplace is beautiful and it puts out just enough heat for my large master bedroom. I've wanted one for years.
