If you are new to skin care and need a basic cleanser for oily skin or are in need for a second cleanser in a two step cleansing routine, this product does the job. First off, even though it is advertised for those with oily skin I have found it works well for those with dry skin as well (I have combination). It is just that the other product advertised for dry skin does not work as well for oily skin, this product on the other hand feels pretty universal. This product is however NOT FOR those who wear medium to heavy make up and want to use a single cleanser. There are other cleansers out there that remove makeup and cleanse at the same time in one cleanser, go buy those if you don't want to double cleanse or remove makeup beforehand using wipes or pads. If you wear very light makeup (meaning only foundation basically) this product can get rid of that just fine. For everyone else, this is the cleanser you should get if you don't want anything else in your cleanser (meaning you don't need your cleanser to exfoliate, brighten, soothe, etc). It is scentless, does not have any active ingredients, and is formulated really well (I'm not going to go into detail about ingredients, but just trust me in that it is a good list). As hinted at above, it also works really well as a second cleanser in a double cleansing routine, and as your cleanser after you remove your makeup with a pad or wipes. The highest praise I can give to this product is that it is super consistent. I have used 3 bottles in a year (so each lasts about 4 months) and have found that all 3 bottles felt identical in there feel, use, and effect. I have added and removed many products into my routine throughout the year and have simply kept this cleanser and it has had no adverse effects on my skin no matter what I was cleansing off or what I added to my skin after my skin. Having used it throughout the year, it also works just as well throughout the seasons not matter the ambient temperature in your house. Don't get me wrong – this product DOES work well at removing excess oil without leaving a gross, filmy residue on your skin. My face feels really clean after using it. I appreciate that it is fragrance free but the smell of it bothers me. It smells like a swimming pool and a bit chemical like which is a little off putting. My other complaint is that it leaves the area around my mouth feeling dried out compared to the rest of my face. Not sure what that is about, could have something to do with postpartum hormones, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're buying this however it's nothing that a moisturizer afterwards can't fix. I was going to put in an order tonight but the kind for oily skin was the only one available. My grandaughter uses that one bc she has/had acne. The rest of us use normal to oily. I may have to wait to put in my order. Since my grandaughter started using the one for oily skin twice a day her acne is gone, she's 21 now & was 17 when I bought her first bottle. my daughters & I use normal to oily & it's great, I've tried alot of other cleansers which dry my skin out. My friends think that this is too expensive, this pump bottle lasts me a long time bc I'm the only one in my house that uses it. I use it in evening, sometimes w/a cloth & sometimes w/clarisonic brush, either way my skin feels good after. I prefer to use it in the evening bc I apply moisturizer after & wake up w/really soft skin. I don't think that you're supposed to use a facial brush e'day, it's too harsh on your skin! I switched from a physical exfoliant (scrub) to this chemical exfoliant (benzoyl peroxide). This product is much more gentle on the skin and still leaves my skin feeling soft right away. Over time, I have noticed much less breakouts/acne with this product! No more harsh scrub tearing up my skin, so it looks even more hydrated and glowy! I have combination skin, I get oily in my T-zone and have small patches of eczema around my eyes and mouth. I've used the classic CeraVe foaming cleanser/moisturizer/retinol serum/night cream for years. I did a course of strong meds a year and a half ago and it cleared my skin completely. After full-time mask wearing started up again, my acne came back a bit so I decided to try this cleanser after having such good experiences with all their other products. It cleared my skin after only a few days! But be careful – I developed a painful itchy rash around my lips and mouth that took steroids to clear up because of how much this cleanser irritated that area of my face. I've now cut down use from every morning and night to just once every other morning and I avoid my eyes and mouth with it. Great product! Benzoyl peroxide is perfect for hormonal/cystic acne — the red, inflamed, under the surface kind. I had been using salicylic acid for a while and didn’t understand why my acne was not clearing. Until my dermatologist informed me that SA is better for whitehead & blackhead type of acne (which I did not have). 4% benzoyl peroxide is a great amount if you’re just introducing benzoyl peroxide to the skin. This cleanser has to be one of the best cleansers(if not THE best) I have ever tried. Beautiful lather, cleans well, doesn't strip my skin, and seems to lessen the redness in my skin. I've tried so many cleaners and a lot of them leave me skin looking so red, hot, and irritated, but this one does the opposite. My skin feels so clean, fresh, and calm. One thing I will say is that while using this you may need to use an exfoliant maybe once a week or once every two weeks, since this cleanser is gentle and doesn't really contain any exfoliating ingredients like citric acid etc. But to be honest I think that's why my skin likes it, because my skin doesn't need an exfoliating ingredient every day. Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I've already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I'm pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert. But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that's what it's supposed to do. So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it's effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.Luftherz
I have been dealing with constant breakouts for years, since middle school, and I’m 22 now. I just started using this face wash in May 2022 and it has been a life saver. I received the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for reviewing purposes. I have combination skin nose and chin very oily, forehead is super dry rest of face is normal. I also get hormonal acne. With all that said I find this product actually whole line really great. I have only been using for about 3 weeks so I am just over the purging stage but I am seeing my pores getting smaller also not having as much redness. It also great at getting a full face of makeup off. I recommend this product to everyone just know your skin will do a pruge so your skin will look worst before it looks better.Sami

I’m really surprised by the negative reviews I’m reading! I got this cleanser as a sample and I loved it so much that I purchased it afterward. I have combination skin and I also tend to get rosacea in the winter so I really need something gentle. I don’t wear a ton of makeup but I do wear a tinted moisturizer and bronzer and this product washes everything off. I also feel like my skin looks amazing after washing. Again, I’m so baffled by all of the negative reviews! I absolutely love this face wash, it’s all I use now, besides the occasional exfoliator a couple times a week.ambsypambsy

I have sensitive acne prone skin. I scratched my current oil based “ clean beauty” skincare routine after months of crappy results. Got rid of all the fancy products I didnt use and did not work and stuck to a simple quality routine. I gave myself a 60 day adjustment. It worked wonders for my skin. Love this product. I'm on the dryer side and generally don't use foaming cleanseres as they make my skin dry and tight. This product didn't do that at all. It left my skin feeling clean and not overly tight and stripped. Would recommend to anyone with oily or acne prone skin as well as dry skin types that want to Clean out the pores. If you're dry, I would recommend using less often so you don't strip the skins natural oils you need so dearly

I was reading somewhere that dry skin shouldnt use foaming cleanser. Im not so sure. I agree. My skin is normally dry. Im 61 years old. I moisture & hydrate my skin constantly to combat the dryness & Im successful at this. I purchase most of my skin care here, at Sokoglam & another K Beauty website. Since switching to clean skin care & using K Beauty skin care, the dryness is gone. I used this Soon Jung 6.5 whipped cleanser once before then when I went back to reorder, I couldnt find it. It seems the product was under reformulation and is now restocked. The reformulation description is on the product page. Im not sure how the product could have needed to be better, but, I here to repurchase another bottle. The bottle lasts & lasts. Just 2 pumps from the vaccume sealed pump container cleanses off my cleansing balm & any remaining grime. My skin is not tight or dry. Supple & left feeling hydrated. I highly recommend.
I really enjoy cleansers that come out as foam, they are easy to use and wash off. This cleanser from Etude has few ingredients, and panthenol is high on the list, which is really good for sensitive skin. While it cleanses well, it is also moisturising and doesn't leave a film like most cream cleansers do. I am able to use it two times a day and it doesn't strip my skin at all. My skin is already calmer and I have few breakouts after a week of use. I have combo skin, but I would recommend this cleanser for all skin types, especially sensitive. I have used a variety of different cleansers: from horribly drying "acne" microbead scrubs to no-rinse cleansing lotions to your standard pharmacy no-foam cleanser. I was, honestly, extremely skeptical that a foaming cleanser could truly be gentle, especially for my tretinoin-ravaged skin, but based on the glowing testimonials I heard not only from this website, but also my favorite influencers and beauty communities, I decided to give it a shot, especially since it costs so little (relatively speaking). I'm glad I did! This has quickly become my go-to cleanser, to the point that I've repurposed my original cleanser (a previous holy grail product) to clean my neck and intimate areas. I only cleanse my skin once a day, because as with all prescription acne medications, tretinoin tends to dry my skin quite a bit. I've found that after doing my first cleanse, all I need is one pump of this cleanser to get rid of all the residue left. Although it doesn't leave a "hydrating" film, like some other gentle cleansers, and this can lead the face to feel dry when you're running your fingers over it when it is still wet, once dried, the magic of this cleanser shines- almost all of my essential skin lipids are intact! Even though it may feel "dry" to my fingers, my face never feels tight or dry, even when it is wet. Furthermore, this is the only cleanser that I've used in which my skin is perfectly comfortable for up to an hour without any other step after (not even toner), although I do tend to avoid doing that for obvious reasons. If you're in the market for a new cleanser, I could not recommend this one highly enough!

This cleanser goes on great and foams up quite easily. As you're cleansing it feels really nice, refreshing and effective. As someone with normal skin who probably leans slightly to the dry side of things, I did find this to be mildly stripping on some parts of my face, but wouldn't go so far as to say it was fully drying. Knowing that this is meant for normal to oily skin, it's not something I would've picked up for myself but I did get a sample size of it so of course had to try it out. It was good enough to finish the sample (about 3 uses) but not for my skin type to consider purchasing. I'd recommend it for oily skin types only.Bernie

I absolutely love this cleanser, I use it every single night for my night time regime. I got it for $15.99 from ultra's website but you can buy it on the brand's site for a dollar less. I would not recommend using this if you have cystic acne. I had really bad and inflamed acne for a while and using this cleanser alone didn't do enough for me. I did not have cystic acne either. Salicylic acid is a betahydroxy acid (BHA) and is the main ingredient in this cleanser. This is definitely effective but not using it by itself. If your acne is not so severe you could probably use it alone and it will clear up but in my own experiences I had to get on a prescribed astringent medication given by my doctor. Using that along with the effacer cleanser has slowly been able to fight off my acne. Overall this cleanser is pretty amazing and is a great tool in controlling my acne. I love it and it is pretty affordable, you can't beat it!jillian.g
to keep it short i have sensitive, acne prone, dry skin. my acne was mild/ medium. i had issues with hormonal/ cystic acne that just always kept coming back no matter what. i tried this cleanser and yes my skin felt super clean, but then i noticed breakouts. i did some research and soon found out my skin was purging (i had no idea what that meant). people are not educated enough about skin purging and it is actually a good thing because it really cleanses out your pores and pushes all the dirt to the surface (causing texture, white heads and blackheads) but it gets better. it's just a whole process of really cleansing your pores and you have to be patient. i would advise you really do your research on breakouts vs skin purging when trying a new product with an active ingredient. i do really love this cleanser though, but I would've hated it if i wasn't educated on what skin purging is because id think this product is just causing breakouts.victoria
I love and adore this product If you are like me and have some sort of combination acne like, cystic but also fungal but you don't know what to do or have tried everything? This product is for you!! It took about five days of regular routine of this project as well as their other two (which I will mention) to clear my skin, this is perfect for sensitive skin like mine and combination skin as well. I start off by using this cleanser, i foam it up a dime size amount in my hands and then I wash my face and under my chin/neck, I rinse off and repeat again just to really cleanse my skin. Then I dry my skin lightly and I go in with their step two toner, I take a cotton pad with a little amount and brush it all over my flared up areas. After I use their step three benzol peroxide and lightly glaze some of the cream over my entire face(NOT EYES) This is just my nightly routine, in the morning I just wash my face with the cleanser or else it is too drying . This product also lightened my acne scarring, please try this routine and keep up with it for at least a week and I promise there will be a difference in your skin. I enjoyed washing my face with this product. It has a fresh almost minty scent. It goes on very creamy which feels nice and then lathers in a froth. When I rinsed it off, my skin felt a bit firm. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. It didn’t sting my sensitive skin which is good. I do notice my face looks a little red in the cheek areas, but not unusual. This cleanser is really good. There are lots of comments in regard to the new formula being worse than the old, which has NOT been my experience. ( it’s just a cleanser list of ingredients! ). This gentle foaming cleanser defends against 5 signs of skin barrier, dryness, irritation, roughness, and tightness. It’s not harsh on my skin at all. I massage the product into my ski for 60 seconds then rinse and follow the rest of my daily routine. This product goes on light and smooth and leaves my skin feeling fresh and healthy. I don’t care for the smell though, hence I less the star rating. What I love about this cleanser it is effective, but gentle without stripping or leaving my skin feeling dry. The original formula left my skin feeling dry. I’m so happy they improved the formula with glycerine because my skin feels refreshed and moisturized! First off, I’m an esthetician so I’m a bit of a skin care snob. Things that I do love about this cleanser is that the company reworked the formula and took out the parabens and all of the harmful ingredients that it use to use. The cleanser is definitely gentle and good for sensitive skin. But it doesn’t have any actual active ingredients that would help with acne. So if your expecting it to cure any acne. It won’t. It would be best if used as a pre-cleanse before an active cleanser or if your on a medication that prevents you from using active ingredients. It doesn’t even fully remove my foundation and I don’t use a heavy foundation.jeana.w
Prior to receiving this voxbox from Influenster and Cetaphil, all I knew about the brand was that it was canceled by the skincare community. There was some controversy about the ingredients or the product claims, but honestly I don’t even remember the specifics. Needless to say I had previously been avoiding Cetaphil at all costs. Despite her testimonial, I still wasn’t 100% sold… perhaps that was just her isolated experience (or maybe the video was sponsored). 🤷🏾♀️ So when I was chosen for this voxbox, despite being skeptical, I decided to experience the product for myself. The first thing I noticed was that the label said “New Improved”, indicating it’s a new formula, and geared to Combination to Oily, Sensitive Skin! It lists glycerin and vitamins B5 B3 as key ingredients and claims to deep clean and minimize the appearance of pores without stripping skin of natural moisture. Pros: Lightweight, gentle, lathers, I have super large pores prior to using this cleanser and I don’t know what sorcery is this, but I washed my face before bed and when I woke up my pores were non-existent. Like whoa! 😳 I didn’t see that one coming. I was literally blown away! This product is legit and I’m sold! Cons: It is strongly scented. Long after I had washed my face and went to bed I was still smelling the fragrance. It didn’t cause a negative reaction, but products for sensitive skin usually don’t have fragrance, so I was a bit surprised. It also best used as a cleanser after your makeup remover. For reference, my skin: combo/oily, some rosacea, some adult acne, little makeup I typically use "basic" cleaners since I tend to wash my face frequently (I work out and sweat a lot…) and don't wear much make up. This cleanser provides a nice, thorough clean without stripping. It does have a "jammy" texture. It foams a bit, but has a unique way of sticking to your skin almost like jello (but not in a sticky way, I promise). I feel like this provides a deeper clean since it seems to stay on the skin a lot better than other basic gel cleansers. However, it does take a second to rinse off because of that (I like to use it in the shower for that reason). I haven't noticed a "dewy" glow after using it as the name suggests, but it certainly doesn't strip the skin at all. I can't attest to its ability to remove foundation since I don't wear any, but it does a good job of removing mascara (and doesn't irritate the eyes in doing so). Overall, I've enjoyed it.ERBee
I was surprised to find out that I REALLY like this. It foams up nice, and actually makes my skin look brighter and feel properly cleaned, unlike other things I have tried. It does what it says and there’s nothing fancy about it. The price is right, quantity is perfect, you dont need much to lather, pea size amount work for washing my face, as for removing makeup idk what to say, since I always double cleanse, first with oil and than with soap. Because I use oil base prior and than this, I love the fact I feel clean, some will say it strips clean, but I love that feeling after oil wash cleanser in first step. I use essence not toner afterwards so I am hydrated. I have Combo/sensitive skin and this is the best way to keep my skin balanced and hydrated. I spend good money on essence and serums, that actually stay on skin, so I dont like to spend alot of money on cleansers but I need them to be effective in taking off dirt. And this does that. I give this 2 stars bc I’m honestly still unsure about it but i’m thinking it’s definitely gonna be a no for me at least. at first i really liked it and it feels nice on my face. i feel like the exfoliating part doesn’t do too much but i also don’t see any difference in my pores. before this i only had some hormonal acne on my chin, but now i have bumps & black heads all over my chin & cheeks. there’s even bumps coming up on my forehead now (the don’t have a head but they’re still red bumps) so definitely think i’m gonna stop using this for a bit and see if anything changes. i’ve been using the moisturizer with it but it was a small kind of sample sized one & so i’ll probably just use the rest of it. but even the moisturizer is too watery for me i thought it would be perfect but if i don’t put it over my serums and use an oil after it just feels like wet but dry it’s weird. and at first they both seemed to be doing okay i think i even gave a good review on the moisturizer i can’t remember but after using both for a straight month i think it’s just making my face worse. those were the only things i changed up. i still have some of the face wash i’ve been using plus another sample sized one also that came in the pack with the small moisturizer so i may see if i can go back to it later but if i see one bump after use i won’t be using it again. right now i’ll have to find something that can clear up my face now because i do believe it’s the face wash doing itroseyjane
I’ve been having breakouts on my cheeks, forehead, & neck for about 2 years now, along with sweat bumps across my forehead & this was the first non-drug store product I splurged on. I had tried lots of other more high end products through samples & family, 2 of which were Tatcha. I loved how they made my skin feel directly after use, but was reluctant to buy any myself because I didn’t know if they would have and long term results & the prices hurt my heart lol. But let me say, this is SO worth it. After using this cleanser for over 4 months now I am IN LOVE. I have semi sensitive skin & it never burns or gives my skin that dry & tight feeling. This cleanser is fine. It has a mild scent that’s something like a cross between lemongrass and lychee, and it comes out of the tube as a thick, viscous gel intermittently studded with exfoliating beads. It lathers and rinses well, considering the texture, and a little bit really does go a long way, but it took me a while to get used to the fact that there isn’t much of a foamy quality to it. Other reviewers mentioned that their skin felt significantly softer and smoother after adding this to their routine, and while I am delighted for them, I did not personally notice any marked difference in my own skin. The packaging is pretty, but the plastic flip-top felt sort of cheap, considering the brand and price point. I bought the standard 5-ounce tube, which took me about twelve weeks to get through. I used it once a day for the first two weeks—which is how I expected to use it—and twice a day for the remaining ten weeks. Despite my vaguely temperamental combination skin that tends to reacts poorly to harsh exfoliants, I didn't experience any redness or sensitivity while using this. It's definitely gentle. So the promise of this product, according to label at least, is that it is very mild and suitable for sensitive skin, while also helping acne prone skin. And it's true that if you use it as a face wash, you are pleasantly surprised that your face is not tight or dry afterwards.
However, a quick look into its ingredients using www.incidecoder.com will show that this is some powerful stuff. It contains a source of salicylic acid (willow bark), a closely related source of glycolic acid (sugar cane), a form of Vitamin C and a form of Vitamin A. I don't know about you, but that sounds like trouble to me, if you have sensitive skin.
My experience with this cleanser is that, while it left my face feeling clean and not tight at all, it also left it irritated later on. It was very telling that both times I tried using it, the back of my hands started burning. Same for my neck. In both of those areas the skin is very sensitive and prone to irritation.
I would recommend this cleanser as maybe a once in a while exfoliating treatment, but definitely not on a daily basis.Luca E
Of all the product I have tried over the years, who knew it would be a cleanser to save the day? I’ve had acne since a teen and in my mid 30’s I still struggle with break outs and post-acne marks. Over the years I have tried so many serums and treatments but didn’t really pay attention to the cleanser I was using because I thought of cleanser as just face soap. I finally decided to try cleansing complex after seeing it on over and over again on beauty blogs and recommendations. I don’t know what took my so long!! Dullness (gone!), underlying congestion on cheeks and t-zone (poof!), post-acne hyperpigmentation (fading!) And it’s only been two weeks!! I love when cleansers comes in this type of packaging. It’s more sanitary than a jar because you’re not touching the product with your hands + it’s easier to get the product at the very bottom out of this than a bottle with a pump. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, like myself, this may not be your cup of tea. I don’t like fragrances in my skincare for multiple reason. 9/10, I have some kind of reaction. Even though, it smells really “clean�— it’s quite aggressive and smells more like a perfume than a cleanser— and, the scent lingers for a while after. It’s a gel consistency and it lathers into a creamy foam. It feels really nice on the skin, super gentle; in no way irritating or harsh. I was SO excited to finally try this cleanser after seeing so many positive reviews on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, but I have to say that it is a major disappointment and a total fail for me. Pros: The large bottle is very big and since a little goes a long way, it will last a long time. The packaging is convenient. I like gel cleansers (though sees the Cons section for more details…) Cons: Firstly, the scent of this product is absolutely HORRIBLE. It smells exactly like a floral hand soap that my grandmother had in her bathroom in the 80’s, but about 100% stronger. The smell is SO overwhelming and really “sticks around” even after washing it off. If you're on the fence, just get it. It makes a dramatic difference in my skin which is rare for a cleanser to do. This really clears up my skin, calms my redness, gets my skin super clean, doesn't irritate my rosacea and actually seems to help it, reduces puffiness, sooths my sensitivity and makes my pores smaller. My skin is textured and I didn't think it was possible for a face wash to make my skin glow but this is no less than miraculous. So basically, it does everything I would ever want in a cleanser. It lathers up nicely and gets rid of makeup, although I also remove waterproof mascara separately. I try new cleansers all the time as anyone would who has subscriptions and this is the only one thus far that does it all and actually HELPS my skin. That is really hard to find in a face wash. So, this is perfect. The only thing I hate is the fact it's expensive. However, I suppose that when you consider everything it does for my face and it being something that's literally on my face for under a minute, it's a good fair price. One tube lasts about 3 months if I'm washing twice a day. You don't need much. It lathers up well and since I exfoliate using a puff with this, it really does go pretty far. And, it does not send suds all over the room which is great. I can cut the tube open to get the last little bit out too. My almost 16yr old son has terrible acne right now. Stuff from the doctor inflames his skin and every face wash he's tried either makes it worse or simply does nothing. I have been using Clinique products for 40 years including their liquid facial soap. I have always purchased the jumbo 13.5 oz size in this soap. Since this smaller size was such a good value I decided to stock up. I put one of these smaller sizes in my shower. Even though Clinique says it is fragrance free it normally has a slight crisp, clean smell thats reminds me of the smell of water while sitting next to a swimming pool. This particular bottle had a different smell to it and actually made my face burn while using it. Fingers crossed this is a bad batch Clinique is not changing their formula for this liquid facial soap. I thought it odd too that I ordered 4 when they arrived 3 were shrink wrapped together the 4th was by itself thats the one I tried. Possibly the other 3 were a different batch and may have been fine. I did not open all of them. I hope QVC gets more of the jumbo size bottle in oily so I can order more.Anonymous
I have combination oily, aging, sometimes sensitive skin, prone to acnemilia, and I use the facial soap for oily skin. It is a liquid gel consistency and doesnt necessarily foam, but is effective at removing my sunscreen, moisturizer, sweat, sebum, the little makeup that I wear, and any dirtpollution. If you wear makeup, Id recommend using makeup remover first, then finish with this cleanser. I turn cleansing into a massage using this product, to give the active ingredients time to work, on my face, ears, neck, decollete, and the bumpy areas on the back of my upper arms KP. My face feels fresh and clean, not stripped, and there is a lovely cooling minty sensation on my skin as the water evaporates. It is a lovely experience On days when my skin feels like it might react to actives or the minty fresh sensation, I use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser instead, as a backup plan, but this is my preferred cleanser. Also, a little goes a long wayit only takes one or two pumps of product per cleansing. Id recommend this for anyone with oily skin, male or female its unscented and gender neutral, but if acne is a bigger problem, go with the acne line of products Clinique offers. I follow cleansing with this soap with Clarifying Lotion 3 exfoliant toner and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel or Jelly both are oil freethe DDM lotion has oils. I love the product, been using it for years. Although, the older version of the Extra Mild was better, but works great! I only have one comment. Why they got rid of the pump? If they really wanted to be more green, could offer an option of the exactly same bottle without the pump as a refill. But no, they changed the bottle, so you can't used the older bottle pump. I've had persistent acne since I was 12. I'm 24 now. It's not the worst acne ever, but it's really stubborn. I've gone through an entire round of accutane. I've tried so many products. I've tried washing my face twice a day. Tried just once a day. Tried not washing my face at all. For over 12 years, I've gone through ups and downs with my skin. I decided to visit a specialized acne skincare clinic. I'm on their own formulation of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. I also get monthly extractions and a peel. So, keep this in mind. I'm not saying barrier+ fixed my acne. HOWEVER, these treatments were really harsh on my skin, and their cleansers and moisturizers were not doing it for me. My barrier was shot. It was slowing my PIH and acne progress down. I'm going to keep using their actives, but I've switched to only using the Barrier+ line for cleansing, double cleansing, and moisturizing. It's been amazing! I've been using this line for 2 months now, and my skin hasn't looked this good since accutane! I credit Barrier+ to restoring my moisture barrier while on these aggressive treatments. When I wear makeup or tinted sunscreen, I use this Oil Cleanser first and then the Foaming Clay Cleanser to double cleanse. It gets my skin so clean, and I don't get breakouts after makeup anymore. This is one of my TOP SHELF, best cleansers ever. I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin – I've tried everything to the very expensive to brick & mortar, and I tried this on a whim when I saw a presentation on QVC years ago, and I've never looked back. This cleanser is so effective and delicate and nurturing and my skin looooves it. I won't recommend it to everyone because everyone knows their skin – I have combination skin – some oily areas (nose), some dry areas (mouth/chin) and redness/inflammation (cheeks). So, I've got it all, and this cleanser doesn't aggravate or make my skin break out or feel tingly or irritated. It just feels soooo good to wash my face day and night knowing that this cleanser is safe and so nurturing. I can't say that enough – just buy, try it, and see for yourself.Brenda
I really enjoyed this as an oil cleanser! It’s a bit unconventional because it is a lightweight cream cleanser, but it has all the pull of an oil cleanser. It also has a faint clean fragrance. I’m not a huge fan of fragrances in my skincare but this was unnoticeable unless you were looking for it. I have sensitive, dry skin. But after using this cleanser my skin doesn’t feel tight and felt hydrated and like a good canvas for the rest of my routine. I have been using this in my PM routine as my first step oil cleanse. It does a great job breaking down makeup and sunscreen (the pull of an oil cleanser!) which I follow with a water cleanser. I haven’t used it standalone just for makeup/sunscreen, but I have used it standalone in my AM routine and I was left with clean hydrated skin! I’m unsure if it works better applied and lathered on the face because I foam it up in my hands and apply the foam onto my face. I don’t use a lot, maybe half a dime before lathering for foam. And it foams up like a dream with soft bubbles and the fragrance is even fainter. It emulsifies when washed away like milk. It doesn’t strip my skin at all and my skin feels very smooth after. I don’t notice my skin being supple after though but it does appear slightly brighter! Overall, a very solid non-irritating oil cleanser!

I've been using for about a week in the mornings and after work, along with their Deep Dive Glycolic mask every other day before a shower – and I must say I noticed much smoother, less oily skin, specifically the "T Zone". I should have written this review a long time ago, but here it is. My son was struggling with acne that covered most of his face. We went to see a dermatologist, and of course, they recommended and put him on a certain medication that starts with the letter A( that the filter will not allow me to type in this review. ) After 2 months of seeing what that medication was doing to my son (please research warnings/side effects before putting your child on this) I stopped the medication and searched for a new skin care line to try. I purchased this cleanser and the face moisturizer to go with it. I made sure my son used both products morning and night every single day. Literally, within a couple weeks, his skin was clearing up beautifully. After a month of use, he had a completely clear, beautiful complexion. He received complements regularly on how great his skin looked. It's been 2 years since I purchased our first Jack Black facial products and to this day, my son's skin is flawless. My husband and other son also use JB products. In my opinion, Jack black products are very cost effective, considering how long they last and how well they work. I was on the hunt for a great face cleanser for my husband, prior to this he switched from Clinique to Lab Series and he just wasn't a fan, therefore he wasn't really using the product. So after much research and reading countless rave reviews on this product, I was so relieved and impressed when I got him to switch and he also really enjoys using this cleanser. So much so that I got curious and tried it myself. It's a great, simple cleanser that does the job. I can see why my husband likes it. He's struggled with sensitive skin and breaks out of any excess oil on this skin, but then using some of the products either dried out his skin and stripped off any moisture from his face, I mean, the struggle was real. So this product along with it's moisturizer, have become his holy grail of facial routine. Simple, to the point and gets the job done.
