I normally don't write reviews but this thing is amazing! I always used to straighten my hair but over the past year, I've been changing up my style. I bought a 1.5 inch barrel curling iron to attempt beachy waves. I could never get the look I wanted and had a constant battle to get my hair to hold shape. I discovered this type of hair styler after doing some research online. I was in Ulta one day and spontaneously bought this, I have no regrets. It had a little bit of a learning curve but I decided that it looks best when I alternate the side of the waver and only do small pieces at a time. That way, it creates a more random look. I love this tool because I don't even need to use hairspray and my hair actually holds! If I do spray my hair, I like to pair it with IGK's Beachy Texture spray. I have long straight hair down the middle of my back past my shoulder blades. I have a lot of hair though individually strands are not thick. And my hair is slightly wavy and very frizzy if air-dried. I can never achieve an at home salon-style blowout so I rely heavily on a flat iron. I have never been crazy about curling irons as for me they do not hold the curl long enough. But this is not a traditional curling iron. This gives my hair that salon blow out finish so my ends look clean, there is some movement to my hair and the frizz has left the building. If you are expecting more defined curls this is not for you. If you want subtle, very loose waves or just that extra finishing polish this is what you need. There is more than one heat setting so find what works as this tool can get very hot. This is the holy grail tool for a polished look without having to work a blow dryer to the point of sweaty exhaustion. I never knew I needed this but glad I finally pulled the trigger. I’ve had this T3 iron in my cart for the past couple of years, and finally went for it during the last VIB 20% off sale. I can’t say whether it’s worth the $160 CAD I paid for it, but it is an excellent curling iron. This is the only 1.75” barrel iron I’ve ever heard of. I agree with other reviews that say the barrel doesn’t “glide” well, and at first that was annoying. But it doesn’t snag the hair. There’s almost a bit of “stick” to the surface of the barrel, which — once I got past my aggravation — turned out to be a positive thing. I can pull on the barrel to create tension without my section of hair slipping through it, which creates a smoother and more even curl. The more I practiced, the better my curls got. I do agree that the iron gets very hot. I have thick hair and I don’t go higher than 2. For this price, it should come with a protective case, so that I can put it away when it’s still hot. But it stands on its own on the counter with no pesky folding clip stand to snag hairs. I give this a solid 4 stars.jennifer98101

I am a licensed hairstylist, of 21 years. I LOVE this triple barrel iron! It is BIG, so I selected 3 stars for "easy to use" because I think it is would be a little challenging for someone who isn't a professional, I even found there to be a learning curve! There are great tutorials and videos available to help guide you. Smaller sections (not too thick) and holding the iron in place long enough, (based on the integrity and condition of your hair) are two important factors to achieve a beach wave look. I like to spray my hair with (a light mist of) dry shampoo all over, after I'm done using my waver, then "rake" it out with a friction free wide tooth comb. I have naturally curly/wavy hair up top and is now finally growing out but I had keratin treatments so my hair is half curly and half straight. I got this to be able to have uniform waves. Always have lots of compliments when I wear my hair like this. Easy to use, clear instructions. I have thick hair and I wouldn't hold longer than 5 sec (per recommendations). It does it job. Heats pretty quickly. You may have to do a few batches before getting the hang of how you want to section your hair. Overall I like the effect that the larger barrels have on my hair and so far this product has operated well, but the place where you put your thumb to open the waver gets so hot that after about 10 minutes of use it’s difficult to even touch. Also, the on/off button is put in a place where I constantly accidentally touch it and turn it off. Another downfall of this product is that the material that is wrapped around the stand melts (learned the hard way)—the weight of the waver makes it so that it shifts easily and it did just that when I wasn’t paying attention and a part of the stand melted. I used to LOVE my Beachwaver. My first one stopped working after the year warranty and no returns or refunds could be made. I caved and bought another one and this one did the same thing. I previously recommended this product to my friends and their Beachwaver’s died after the year warranty as well. I reached out to customer service and they tried to get me to buy another one. First off, let me say: this is well worth your $100. I absolutely LOVE it. You put the ends of your hair in, decide which direction to curl and go from there! Mind you, you HAVE to hold down which direction you want in order to curl it up to whatever you feel your "stopping point" is. I've seen reviews of people curling it too far up and it burning there ears. Be careful and make sure not to go too far up! I went about midway and once finished I removed the curl and it was bouncy and beautiful all around every piece! I love this iron and have two different sizes. I have course, very naturally wavy hair that requires a bit of heat to stay smooth. I can use this Iron on the lowest heat setting and get waves that last 2 to 3 days. I love that I can grab larger chunks of hair for loose waves, or smaller chunks of hair for tighter waves. I actually used to own this when i was like 10 and obsessed with vanessa hudgens and her hair. I used it for years until i left it at an ex's house in my teens. Fast forward to a couple years ago i repurchased it not expecting much but i was so surprised! I must have forgotten how amazing this works and how much i loved it! I have extremely long hair and this gets the job done so fast! It usually takes me an hour to style my hair but this takes me about 15-20 minutes (which is amazing for hair so long that goes passed my butt) It has a turning knob for the heat settings which is nice because i usually accidentally press buttons on other tools. This gives the perfect wave and the style lasts days so i can just apply dry shampoo at my roots, serum to ends and maybe re-crimp a few pieces if needed but overall looks sooo good. I like it better a few days later because it looks a lil messy and more natural. the waves look great if you're hair is down, in a claw clip, half up half down, even in a messy bun! I bought this a while back but started using it a few weeks ago because I didn't like the look on my long hair, but I love it on my short hair. My hair is right at my collarbone, but I wouldn't recommend for long hair because it doesn't look like beach waves; they're very well-defined. I have a photo of the results below (it's not a very good one though) so you can see what the waves look like. The downside is that the plastic is very flimsy. I have a bad habit of squeezing the handle a bit too hard (so it grips my thin hair for better results) and it finally snapped today. The whole back panel is just hanging off now haha. Luckily it's one of the cheaper hair tools to replace, and it was my own fault for squeezing that hard. This is amazing!!! Let me also disclose I have very thick hair and a lot of it and I’m not super savvy with a lot of tools and this was a little tricky to use! It’s really big to fit in your hand and then you have to press the bar down while moving the hair through (trying to give you a visual here 🤪) and this was just a lot. I really like this, especially for my shorter hair. I have a lot of hair and thick hair. This didn't take me too long to do my whole head. The range in temp settings was awesome! The cons are that it is big and bulks and it doesn't lock, it is more like a flat iron in the sense that you need to hold it shut. This gets annoying quickly. I have pretty thick hair and it's cute but it's very time consuming on my medium length hair. it takes about an hour or longer. my tips are to NOT use it on freshly washed hair it works better on 2nd or 3rd day hair. Split your hair in 2 or 3 parts before you use it, it makes it much more even and it's easier. For me I never found it to be hard to use but it is a little heavy and can get tiring on your arms. I've never used it without heat protection so I don't know if it could damage your hair but I usually use it on the second to highest setting for tighter waves. I was skeptical of this at first. I have very thick very heavy curl coarse hair that goes to my elbows. It holds curls/straightening/etc well, but it's a mess. When I first saw this I thought why do this if I could braid my hair overnight and take it out in the morning? Or I had flash backs to crimping my hair in the early 2000s. Boy was I wrong!! I was very excited to try this because I had been meaning to try a waver for a while. However this wasn't it. I waved my hair at 300 degrees and it didn't wave my hair much and if it did it went flat in seconds. See my hair is naturally wavy so all this did was straight out my waves. Now that's not to say that this DIDNT work because it does, if you put it at the highest temperature: 415. When I put it at the highest there was literal smoke COMIMG out of my hair. I shouldn't have to put it at a heat damaging level for this product to work. Hence I don't think I'd ever use it again or if I do i will use it with moderation. I apprehensively bought this product a year and a half ago from an Ulta store, not knowing if it would work on my fine, horribly straight hair. I had tried different curling irons in the past, but my hair never stayed without a ton of product that made my hair feel dirty. After much research on the best deep waver, I purchased this product online. When it arrived, I was very pleased with how it looked and how easy it appeared to have worked. I used the iron one morning, and completed my entire head in around 20 minutes (I have long hair) and the results were gorgeous. My hair was shiny, wavy, and full of life in a short amount of time. The iron took around a minute to heat up, and overall I had the iron plugged in for approximately 25 minutes. The waves lasted all day, and I got numerous compliments on my hair. Around a week later, I was planning on using this iron again, but when I plugged it in, I found it wasn't heating up. I tried multiple outlets and tried everything I could think of in order to get it working again, but it was to no avail. This product only worked once, under completely normal circumstances. It was never dropped, left plugged in for an extended period of time, and it never got wet. This is the first and last Hot Tools appliance I will ever be purchasing. I was so excited to use curling iron, and even more excited as soon as I opened the box. You can see and feel the quality right away. I love the sleek, modern design, and how it’s lightweight, but still solid. I’ve had irons before that were too light and would slide all over the counter when I put them down, but the Soft Curl has enough weight that it stays right where I put it. That’s really important because this iron heats up SUPER fast (which I love) and is very hot. Any new tool takes a little time to get used to, and like I said, it heats up fast, so I definitely recommend practicing styling your hair with a cool iron before turning it on. Also, there’s just a little bit of texture to the barrel of the iron (which gives it a really nice matte look) but l also think it gives the barrel a little bit of grip while still allowing your hair to glide around the iron without any tugging or snagging. And finally, the result. I got exactly what I wanted from this (perfectly named) iron. Big, beautiful, soft curls. I really liked this curler. Curls are long lasting. The curler heats up fairly quickly in under 8 seconds. I like the shape the curler has on the end because it makes it easy to hold and that part doesn’t get hot. You can use this curler many different ways. My favorite way to use it is mostly like a wand but with the tong to hold the hair into place. The width of the wand is perfect for looser or bigger curls. It does take a few minutes to cool so I’d be careful with it after unplugging it. It’s also pretty easy to hold and not heavy. Overall a good product. Wanted to invest in a quality product that isn't damaging for the hair. Does what it's suppose to do which is gives you long lasting curls. One thing to note that it is VERY hot, and it's not adjustable. I have normal to thin stand hair and i think the heat is way too strong for my hair type, I don't even leave the curl on the tong for the recommended time. The barrel isn't every smooth when gliding your hair through, you have to open the clamp to release the hair which is abit annoying if you have long hair. Because of the friction its harder to use in my experience compared to other curlers.. burnt myself the first time too.. you definitely need a technique whilst using this because it is way to hot and I can't leave my hair on the barrel for long and need to move really quickly. The design of these irons is meant to be used by professionals, meaning pointed away from the person holding it toward someone sitting in front of them. It's difficult to explain without seeing it, but while with a traditional spring iron, flipping the iron around to use on your own hair doesn't really matter, with a marcel, it requires you to hold the iron completely backward from how it's designed. There are a lot of other things that make a marcel tricky to use, but this means it's even harder to use on yourself than on someone else. So when people complain about the difficulty, they're not exaggerating. I was able to figure out how to use it reasonably well the first time I used it, but it took me at least a week of daily use to be fairly comfortable with it. I've been using it for months now. For a while I thought it was a good iron, but I didn't really know if it was any better than a standard iron. That's until I forgot it while on a trip and had to borrow an old school iron from a friend. The difference is huge. First, a spring iron is actually a lot of work to use after getting used to a marcel. Second, the control and quality of curl with this iron is so much better. It's definitely worth the cost. If you don't curl your hair a lot or aren't comfortable with a normal iron, a marcel might not be worth it. It's lightning fast to heat up, makes a natural looking curl which stays for hours, sometimes into the next day if a shampoo isn't needed. I’ll start with what I didn’t like. If you have small hands you’ll probably dislike this one. The push down handle (not sure of its proper name) is too far out. My thumb was having trouble reaching it. And once i started twirling it, the on/off button kept turning off because it’s poorly placed right in the center where your fingers tend to grip the hardest. I had to stay focused so that I wouldn’t turn it off again and again while trying not to burn myself. And for what I liked…it curls well and holds its heat. I returned mine because it frustrated me so much. There seems to be a mix of reviews but ultimately you’ll have to try it for yourself. While this curling iron does an okay job curling hair, some engineer should be fired for putting the on/off switch exactly where your thumb goes as you are trying to curl your hair. As others have noted, the on/off switch keeps going off accidentally, as you happen to even slightly touch the area where the switch is. I recommend that the switch be moved to the end tip of the curling iron, so that a person is not constantly hitting the switch by accident. Or a different type of switch be employed, one that is not so sensitive to touch.Gin
I should have read the most recent reviews first before purchasing. I have longer hair and I thought this curling iron looked like it would do the job…NOT at all! First of all, I don’t know what is the deal with where they have placed the on/off and turbo buttons, but as you are using, my thumb kept hitting it and turning it off. Next, no matter what products I used before or after, it does NOT hold any curls. At first I thought maybe my hair was ‘too clean’ so I tried it several different times, and same results! I even made sure not to curl too much hair at one time and did smaller sections. Don’t be fooled…when you’re using it, you’ll see the curls, but as soon as you’re finished and go about your day, they are GONE! Disappointing because it took a long time to curl all my hair. I love my Wave Artist! I think I have the original one from when it first came out, like 8-9 years ago? I am pretty certain mine does not have a temperature adjustment on it, which is why I’m docking a star. My hair is incredibly baby fine and thin, won’t hold a curl for anything. With this, I get nice beach waves that last all day long. I use a heat protectant, followed by light comb through and hair spray. The waves just get better as the day goes on. The only complaint I have is that it makes my hair have a weird almost burnt hair smell all day until I wash it out. My sense of smell is very sensitive, so maybe it just bothers me more than the average person. I never notice any damage to hair though, it just makes it stinky. I think I’ll upgrade to one with temp control and see if it helps.jade.f
I have waist length, virgin, platinum blonde hair and this is going to be my go to styler from now on. Forget the rollers, styling wands and flat iron. This is so much better! 10 to 15 minutes to do all my hair. Looks like curls and stays better. Even the humidity of the Pacific northwest doesn't flatten my hair now. Oh my god! I didn’t realize how much I love crimping my hair until one of my stylists did it after coloring my hair and since my hair is so long, it looked like mermaid hair! I then went and bought this because the price was so good!!! I couldn’t believe the price of this, and after using it quite a few times, I can see why it was priced so low…. First of all, the temperature knob is just a circle with no notch to see where it’s at, and it goes around twice. So from the absolute lowest temp to the “absolute highest heat level that’s so hot u shouldn’t touch your hair or it might burn it off” level is really the only two levels you know it’s for sure at! To get in the middle you kind of have to get a feel how long the entire 2 circles are and then make a guess where the middle is. Then you have to maybe try crimping a couple strands and seeing how well it does and If you feel you have to hold it forever, then maybe slightly twitch the knob up just a tap to make it slightly hotter. Also, there really isn’t a good grab point to hold the other end of the crimper as you are going down the strand… there is a little black rubber part at the end of the crimper but it really is not as big as you would think that holding part would be, and if you have it near the end of the temperature circle, there’s no way you can really hold it haha and also, after you start crimping your hair, it takes quite a few tries until you get used to where you should put the crimper on the strand of hair as you go down it. Too close to where you crimped the first notch, and it starts to make the crimps look really weird. Do it too far from where your last crimp ended and it looks every weirder cuz now you have a huge space in between your crimps! So after using this a lot, I can totally see why it’s priced so low, but I still love using it! Because my hair is so long, sometimes it’s super hard to curl my strands because before I’m even done curling the strand I run out of room on the curling iron cuz my hair is so long. So this doesn’t give me that problem cuz you have to crimp, then scoot down, crimp, then scoot down, etc…So like I said it takes a couple uses to get really used to. Plus as you start to crimp the strands that are more in the back of your head, it starts to make your arm tired haha but luckily it’s not TOOO HEAVY of a product to where you can probably get threw most of your hair before this starts to happen. Also, the temperature knob is pretty easy to hit on accident with your hand and then all of a sudden, your hair is smoking and SIZZLING so loud with so much smoke even with just a second of the crimper on your strand, that you’ll know you hit the knob. However, there have definitely been times when I wanted to style my hair but didn’t want to use the curling iron, and then realized the crimper was exactly what I wanted to use instead of the curling iron and it actually worked a lil quicker at styling my strands! 🙂 for the price of under $22-$25 i believe, this product is totally worth it!

This iron is absolutely amazing. First time I tried it like many here couldn’t get curls so I ended using the straightener side and in just a few seconds I was done. Tried curls again while watching the tyme tutorial videos still couldn’t get them how I wanted. So I scheduled the free one video call and it was the best decision ever. Not only you get to talk to the woman behind all of this but she will take her time to tell you what you’re doing wrong. Left the call with shiny bouncy curls. Definitely has a learning curve. I also don't agree with Conair's recommendation for heat temp vs hair type. I have thin fine hair and I definitely needed to bump it up to around 15-20 range out of 30 to get the effect I wanted. Lower than that it just didn't do very much. It wasn't hot enough! I had where the dial is. It's very easy to move it when trying to use the waver. Other than that, once I took the time to play with it and find what works for me I really like it.Danielle

Holy smokes does this thing curl! I've been staying away from T3 products because years ago Id purchased the flat iron and blow dryer and both were horrible! I couldn't give those things away. Fast forward to now and I needed a 1.5 " curling iron which GHD does not sell. I've had this for over a week and i literally have not used my GHD curling wand, flat iron or 1.25 curling iron. Why? Because this rivals GHD and my curls are smooth and effortless. Now with that being said, the curls do not last until the next morning, but they never did on my thick coarse wavy hair anyway. This is a beautiful curling iron! I love the white with rose gold accents.It feels very solid and well made as you hold it. One thing I really like is the stand on the bottom that keeps it from touching your countertop. Every other curling iron I have ever owned had a “kick stand” type loop that would get super hot,and inevitably you would get burned trying to pull it out to set it back down. It has 5 heat settings and heats up FAST and HOT. It remembers your previous setting,and you can change heat settings with a simple twist. To turn it off you twist and hold for a few seconds.The end of the barrel is wide enough that you can hold it as you curl and not burn your fingertips. I like that where the cord exits the unit actually twists so the cord won’t get tangled. I have never used a 1.5” iron before and I personally felt like the curls were a bit larger than I expected. Although Kristen Ess recommends her 1 1/4” size curling iron barrel for longer hair, I went with the 1” and have no regrets. My hair is long and hits me about mid back. I have been able to achieve that ‘beachy waves’ type style with this size curling iron perfectly. My hair gets about 4-5 complete curls out of this smaller barrel for that effortless beach waves look. Whereas with a bigger size barrel, I end up getting about 2-3 complete curls and my hair ends up looking a way too ‘relaxed’ wavy look. It heats up super fast. My hair glides through the curling iron smoothly and I love that it has yet to catch or pull my hair. I’ve been passing my hair through and been using the actual curling iron just to tame my flyaways and hair closer to my roots. Then I use the curling iron as a curling wand to curl my hair to achieve the curls; whereby I just wrap my hair around the barrel of the curling iron. \n\nI loved the chic design of this curling iron with its matte black and rose gold color combo. I also loved the digital aspects of the curling iron including the 4 different temperature settings. I’ve been using the lowest setting at 325F. What I didn’t love was the auto on/off feature. Occasionally this thing would randomly turn off in the midst of me still curling my hair. I’ve left this thing on but idle for 5+ minutes while I’ve put on makeup and look over to see that it’s still on. I also didn’t like that I have to reset the temperature to my desired setting every time I turn it on. An auto memory function would be more useful than the auto on/off function in my opinion.
I have the titanium 1 inch curling iron and I think it's insane how this ceramic one holds my curls more so than the other. I have virgin hair, it's extremely healthy, straight and silky texture. I say this because for many, it's hard to find a combination of a tool and hair products that can get this kind of hair to hold styling. I've struggled for years. I've been messing with this iron for a few days now and it outdoes the titanium for my kind of hair. I love both for different reasons, but this really is one of my new favorites. Kristin Ess has got it going on. I look forward to messing with this iron and getting better at styling. I wish there were more videos to help the ladies out. I would recommend this for newbies getting into using a curling iron. I'm one of them because I've always used my trusty Nume curling wand, but wanted to change things up. This one is definitely up there on my styling tools. It beats the T3, and is a close my BaByliss pro curling iron, if not the same or better. I just can't decide. Haha. This is just such a good iron. I had high hopes for this curling iron since I absolutely love their flat iron but unfortunately the curling iron sucks. Doesn’t hold a curl and if you have longer than shoulder length hair, forget it. Never in my entire life of styling my hair have I had my curls fall so quickly as they do with this iron, even with hairspray. I’m left with zero curls and burnt hair. Even having the temp at a lower setting and a good heat protectant my hair smells burnt. Save your money. There are far better curling irons on the market for $50 or less.Shannon

I have short hair it’s kind a like a stacked bob cut. I’m not sure exactly the correct name for my haircut. But I have been wanting to put a perm in it but because I have thyroid problems my hair already breaks off and falls out so I’m not able to put a perm back in it. Now with this Le waver I can have soft beautiful waves. I pair it with posh and glass hair with a little bit of sea salt spray. I love this tool. It’s by far my favorite 😍Amber H.
Absolutely love this heating tool. It's the only thing that gives me pretty beach waves. Paired with the sea salt spray and thermal magique, you absolutely cannot go wrong. Some people don't care for this item because it "crimps" their hair. However, that because they are doing it too tight a d leaving the waver pressed down too long. If you pick wider sections and hold down for a short amount of time, it makes the prettiest beach waves… that LAST!! I have very stubborn hair. L'ANGE PRODUCTS AND styling tools have been the only thing that works for me. The customer service is phenomenal as well.Chesley H.
I recently purchased the Le Waver, since getting rave reviews, I just could not resist! I have many of the l'ange tools and products, and never ever disappointing when I open new purchases! Unfortunately this le waver doesn't work well with my short bob. It creates too tight of a wave..even with product, and holding for only a couple seconds, it looked less than natural and NOT a pretty style. The barrels are too small and close together for my short hair, but I'm sure would work and look amazing on longer hair styles! Maybe a tool with somewhat larger, wider barrels would work better for me.. Its a beautiful tool, easy to hold, and heats up quickly, so use the glove that comes with it..trust me! Maybe I will return it or just give as a gift! Although this tool was not meant for me personally, it will not stop me from purchasing new products and styling tools down the road! I'm a true loyal L'ange fan..Forever! Every tool that I do own, is like a piece of art! So sleek looking, beautiful colors, long non-tangle cords, and fits comfortable in your hands! This waver DOES work. If you use less hair you can get more or a tight crimp and more hair is more of a nice wave. However man does it make my hair stink! I have tried lowering the heat setting as I thought I burnt it at 1st, I’ve tried fragranced heat protectors and masking it with dry shampoos, texture spray, hair spray etc, nothing can cover the smell!! It’s so bad! And stays after you wash it! 🙁 When the water hits your hair you’re like Omg is that me???? As one reviewer said you can smell it in the iron before your even use it! For $90? Why Ion why? Why you make me stink lol! Otherwise I get so mad y compliments on how my hair looks!
I have incredibly thick hair and have struggled to find a triple barrel curling iron that will work. With this iron, i have found success! I use smaller, hairsprayed sections of my hair and hold it for 10 seconds. My wave lasts for 3-4 days until it starts to get frizzy. This item is worth every dollar if you’ve thick hair and are looking for a long lasting wave.

My photo isn’t a perfect example because I’m not wearing my hair super-curly today, but I love this curling iron. The design is brilliant! I wouldn’t have thought it mattered, a curling iron is a curling iron, right? NO no and NO! I have thrown away 10 or 15 curling irons in my life, never having used any of them more than a couple of times. I was always burning myself and never could get the results I wanted. This Croc iron is PERFECT! The spinning feature is great, but I don’t even need to use it much… again, something about the design❤️April O.
Pulled it out of the box to use and when I tried to use it the clamp won’t hold my hair to curl. The one is garbage. Bought the hybrid flat iron also and the plates were warmed or it was designed that way maybe…but will only hold hair at the tip. These products looked like quality but they don’t work. And customer service is terrible.they won’t help sine I bought them on sale. I won’t be recommending anything from this company.Debbie B.
