Best Wet Vacuum Cleaner For Carpet (2024 Update)

I wanted a powerful vacuum and a way to keep carpets clean so gave this a buy after reading other reviews. Wow, the suction is beyond good. Almost too much when using the airo brush on carpets maybe but the standard attachment is perfect. Tried out the wet clean feature on our fabric dining chairs. They didn’t seem dirty so wasn’t expecting much change. I was wrong. The cleaning solution supplied is a wonder, spray it on, a gentle brush to work it in and the amount of dirty water sucked back out was shocking!! Definitely recommend this if you have hard floors, carpets and upholstery to keep. It really does do it all. Yes the power cord doesn’t wind in but it rolls up and tucks neatly under the carry handle so doesn’t bother me.Nathan W.

I won’t lie, I’ve always wanted the one Henry vacuum with my name on it, and after hearing the parents express a desire to get the carpets and car freshened up this spring, I broke my silence and ordered George immediately. Having ordered on a Bank Holiday I was thoroughly impressed to see him arrive a day-and-a-half later, and he’s been quickly pressed into service over the last two weeks. You get a hell of a lot of Numatic for your money with this one, in dry mode it is exactly the same as using a Henry- giant bag capacity, solid tools, simple operation and the suction is exceptional. Nothing less expected, and delivered on with every use. I have the Pet Kit with my other Henry, and both AiroBrush tools make it a powerful pet-hair tackler! George really shines however when you switch to wet operations. Having last used a multifunction cleaner years ago (from another make, which required having the nozzle always lower than the machine, because the suction powered gravity-fed solution was incredibly weak) the electric pump system on George is first-rate. You can clean quicker knowing when you pass along any surface, that the cleaning solution is going where it should the first time. Having a pure wet-extraction hose as well as a dry one, with the solution tube fully built in, means extra time saved by not having to clip together so much. I have only used the supplied Nuchem 4 solution so far, but it’s a generous supply to get you started. Smells very pleasant, ensures the dirty water stays without foaming in the tank, and works very well at lifting the dirt. Use decently warm water, or cold- but not hot, and you should be all set. Carpet cleaning is simple, one or two wet passes with the fishtail nozzle followed by the same without pulling the trigger seems to work well for me. Edges and tight spots around furniture with the smaller extraction nozzle ensure nowhere is left! It’s great on car interiors too, for thoroughly refreshing upholstery back to factory-fresh. The hard floor squeegee nozzle features some really stiff bristles on the reverse side, which can help with agitation should you need it on floors, before sucking it all up at the end. Spillages are dealt with without any fuss- I had a can of Coke knocked on the floor recently, and as you can hopefully see, George left nothing in his tracks. No more hurriedly patting with towels and blotting with tissue in this house again. He’s a chunky machine compared to something like a Henry 160, but you won’t think twice about that once you get him home. He’s simple, no-fuss, and all function. Exceptionally powerful, and I’m pleasantly surprised to say he’s not nearly as noisy as I expected in operation! You can feel the quality throughout as you click the metal tube connectors together, or press the switches under rubber covers, or twist the hose on with a satisfying click- it’s all thoroughly commercial, and even better to know he’s built here in Great Britain. I’ve rattled on for far too long already, but seriously- grab one and don’t look back. I bought this vaccum for a specific reason, i bought it for the wet functionality.We have in the past used Vax which was just awful appreciate it probably was an older product and that newer models may have provided better results and we have used Bissell. The Bissell in my opinion was better, but i didnt like the idea of storing some large upright standing vaccum for the odd occasion, and have a traditional dry vaccum.We originally looked at the Bissell SpotClean Pro, but again the downside is that it is specifically a wet vaccum only, and at 149.99 there isnt that much price difference between The Bissell and Henry George but you also gain the dry function.Now i have a bit of a hoovervaccum obsession.In my laymans thinking way, a hoover should by design be able to hoover anything that you want it to hoover up within reason, water being the obvious product that cannot be generally hoovered up and over the past few years of home ownership 6 years we have had 2 Vaxs and 3 Dysons. 2of the Dysons are still operational and in the house, but dont get used. 1 is the cinetic big ball, and its way too cumbersome and heavy, and oddly even with suction reduction, doesnt hoover our carpets, its impossible. And the other is a V6 Animal cordless hoover which after 3 minute of hoovering needs to be emptied, or over a year of use the battery gives up and a replacement needed.I was advised by a friend to buy a Henry because A. They have fantastic suction B. It hoovers up everything from dirt and dog hair, to rubble and plaster, and C. they are cheap and are easy to get spare parts for and will generally last years. I always turned my nose up at the Henry range, thinking a cheap vaccum that has a power cord couldnt be better than a 300 dyson cordless hoover. I took the plunge and bought a Henry Hoover to help with some rubble and plaster dust from a bathroom refit we were doing. I was amazed. They are fantastic.They are by my own admission a no frills plastic tub hoover with a small motor, a smiley face and some attachements with a Hepaflo Bag. But my god is it useful, and for the price, no complaints. To this day i have hoovered anything i wanted, Sawdust, Plaster, Rubble, Dirt, Dust etc and it never gets blocked. When the suction gets a bit weak your bag is full change the bag and bang, full power again.By this experience i decided to get another Henry product.This is where the George came in. With the lockdown and issues happening globally around the virus that prevents our normality, we have cancelled our travel plans, and as most people are doing, we decided to focus on making our home look and feel a little less tired. Painting, decorating and making our garden resemble something off of Love Island the wifes idea. And i decided i wanted something that would clean our cars, and carpets and provide us with good clean results and something i knew would last for further occasions in the future.So we bought the George.I once again was not disappointed. Powerful, more so than our dry hoover, comes with all the necessary well designed and thought out attachements for all applications.I finished my carpet stairs and our sons bedroom with the wet function, and to my surprise was amazed with how much dirt it collects. It simply just works, No frills, No over complications and easy instructions.I havent tried the dry use function of it yet, however if my little 620W Henry impresses me, i cant see how the 1060W George will not do the same.My only critisim, and it is minor. But with a Henry, you can tidy the cable away within the motor housing, it simply hand turn winds back in. But with the George the cable is all loose, and there is a fair amount of it.There is a hook on the back for you to hang a looped cable over, but this to me just seems a little messy and i would have preferred Numatic to have built this with two hooks so you could wrap around both for a tidy way of securing your cable to the machine. As it happens we have used Reusable cable ties to limit how much cable is being used for easier tidying away.Aside from this, i love it, such a great tool for wet and dry use, and in my experience of the wet use, it couldnt be easier and makes carpets feel and smell fresher.As we already have a henry for the house, this will now be a Vaccum for the car and wet use on anything else.There are plenty of useful Youtube videos online showing the applications of this Vaccum, and i honestly thing it was worth the price we paid.910 i would rate higher, but i dont like the cable design.Elizabeth A

Just bought myself an early Christmas present, the crosswave pro pet multi surface vac/mop. Really amazing how it cleans up, you see/feel/smell the difference instantly. I have health issues so sweeping/mopping is a challenge for me and i needed an easy option that worked. I have multiple cats and this is amazing with cat fur/dried up hairballs/cat litter etc, the fact that it separates all the icky stuff from the clean water makes the biggest difference…you will be in shock how much gets ckeaned up. Now this beautiful household tool needs care in between using it but i like the finished product so much i don't mind the clean up after and still easier then sweeping and mopping with way better results, plus i just put it up on my counter for easy access for the clean up. Tips: 1) don't use with a wet filter, always put a dry filter in. 2) get a baby tooth brush to get in small crevasse. 3) sweep out corners or hard to reach spots into where it can be vacuumed because this machine cant get to them. 4) i didn't get cordless because i don't want to deal with future batterie issues (not saying it happens but more likely then a cord) put top of cord on hook as you vacuum, easier to control cord dosen't get in your way. 5) clean spray holes if needed with paper clip. 6) make sure if you are dumping dirty water or cleaning off in the sink you have a drajn catcher because pet fur and gunk gets everywhere, you'll see as you are clean everything off and dumping water out, don'twant that going down your drain. 7) go slow when spraying the water, give wet vac mop a chance to do its thing. 8) make sure everything is dry b4 you put back together so no mold or smells start to happen. Like i mentioned, if you take care of this it will continue to take care of your floors and rugs. Ps: Not paid to write this, just a regular human. I paid for my crosswave and i really love it. No love is as great as the first, as they say. I bought this last year but after taking it to a friends house and power washing and vacuuming their entire 2 bedroom apartment for 5 hours straight for 2 days in a row, i think i mightve found the breaking point of this product… Haha, so after it wouldnt turn on, i returned it. I ended up going through 3 other new vacuums and returned them all, only to repurchase this as the 5th one. As i mentioned in the previous review for the Bissell Proheat Duo Pet vacuum, this one here was the absolute perfect size for a 5'3 girl living in a small apt. Its great in smler spaces and even if the suction is not as powerful as the Proheat Duo vacuum, this one does a good enough job for the size and its ease of use cant be beat. Cleaning it is suuuuuuper easy, refilling the water is super easy, and all i gotta do is just press a maximum of 2 buttons. (Meanwhile the pro heat duo has me feeling like an airplane technician, after having to take out a bunch components to clean it which was NOT easy and having so many buttons!!!) Im a bit OCD with vacuuming my carpet all the time (every day) and im always very pleased with the carpet cleaning after i wash it. Overall its been the best model i have found for a Wet/Dry vacuum so i highly recommend if its for a 1 bedroom apt. My only gripes are that this is not easy to push!!! Also wish it could suction better when going BACKWARDS because it only suctions good moving forward but not if i pass over it backwards and if the suction would be stronger too. Everyday messes are definitely a regular occurrence in our home, and I'm usually left with three options: Lug out the large vacuum, and haul it from room-to-room, changing outlets every few minutes; hunch over with my dust-buster for 20 minutes (which is not kind to my neck and back); or leave the mess until later. As a neat-freak, the latter of the options is never my favorite, and I'm generally left either killing 20-30 minutes when I could be doing something more productive on top of becoming frustrated and left with a stiff neck. So, needless to say, when the option for a cordless stick vacuum (dedicated towards pets and kids), I was like a kid at Christmas. I love this product! The three settings make it easy to switch between our hardwood floors, area rugs, and there's a turbo setting that is great at getting those stubborn areas that can really use some extra attention. The product is lightweight, holds a charge (I can vacuum our entire home easily on one charge), and I've found it's a great alternative to throwing my rugs in the washing machine. We have quite a few area rugs throughout our home (all washable due to kids / pets), which is great – but they are a hassle to wash / dry, lay down properly after-the-fact. With the wet / dry function on the CrossWave, I can literally run the vacuum over my area rugs for 1-2 minutes, and when done, they look like they've just been washed. Pet hair, cereal, everyday messes are easy to clean up, and the product is easy to charge / set-up and use. If I had to review any negatives, it would be two features. First, hard to reach places (under furniture, and particularly stairs), aren't the easiest to clean. We bought some appliances so we got $400 best buy gift cards and i had a $55 certificate from best buy(which the online guy that was supposed to help us never applied still a lottle mad about that and its expired now but whatever). Did some research it was between this and the Tineco floor one S5 but we ended going with this because we do have a few rooms with carpets. The pros: .It can clean our house (roughly 2,000 sq ft) on one charge. .That turbo mode is WOW!! .Easy to maintain and clean .Very lightweight .it makes cleaning so much faster The cons: .Maybe its the formula we are using but it is extremely soapy but started using less and it works much better. .it doesnt get the carpets the best( we know ots for area rugs) but on turbo mode it will do a room full of carpet just wont pick up too much of the water but man does it pock up some stuff! .the dirty tank gets full quick The 4 star is mainly for the price of it it is a lot of money for what you get, but honestly we have no Rugrets not even one letter! We are going to order the brush specifically made for carpets and try that out and see how that works and also some little tips. . Run the clean cycle after every use . After you are done cleaning and ran the cycle and cleaned your equipment take off the roller and put it in the holder to let it dry .once a week (i tried doing it every day but its too much) do a nice deep clean of your machine if you take care of it, it will take care of you.Ivan

I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.swemoney

I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. Make sure you youse warm-hot water with or without solution since will tackle the dirt better. I’m happy with the product and it really saves me a lot of time and does a great job!!!Denisik91

I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

This wet/dry vac is light (23 lbs.) but has excellent suctioning power. The filter bag is great to help trap fine dust particles must be sure to remove the bag when using the vacuum for wet items or water. The cord is more long enough for most jobs. The casters roll very well. The separate filter can easily be removed for cleaning. The accessory items can be stored either in the tank or attached to the side of the tank. The easy snap on/off feature for the attachments is a nice feature.Sweetness

I got my Kärcher wet and dry vacuum today and I immediately opened the box and put it together! I had to use it right away! It has the floor attachment with the brush that I love so much. This vacuum is quiet and powerful. I used it to clean up some leaves and debris from my car and it’s so versatile. It has a super long cord so you’re not moving from outlet to outlet. This really has to be the best of the best when it comes to wet and dry vacuums! I definitely would recommend this one!Chris863

This wet/dry shop vac from Karcher is on the small side. But it is perfect for those that don’t have much space to store a lot of things. This vac works great and has awesome suction power. It comes with just about any attachment you will need to clean with. I like that to attach the different nozzles that they snap on easy and you have to push two side buttons to release them so you don’t have to worry about them falling off as you are cleaning. You do have to attach the wheels yourself but that is easy and simple and just takes seconds to do. The suction hose is a pretty good length . I had no problem at all while cleaning my car with it and it not stretching where I needed it to go. It is a 5 gallon vacuum and can pick up anything from dirt, rocks and liquid. Switching it from picking up wet or dry things is very easy. It has a flat pleated filter which makes it easy to clean and you aren’t coming in contact with a lot of dirt with it being pleated when it is time to change of clean the filter off. It does offer accessory storage on the unit so everything you need while using it is always in reach. The power cord can be wrapped around the the hook on the left side of it when you are ready to store the vacuum. It does come with a Fleece filter bag that installs easily into the container of the vac and help with dust retention. Like I said this is a small but mighty little vacuum and works wonderful on any job you won’t be dissatisfied with it at all.Katgar43

I’ve been using this WetVac every-other-day for four weeks now. Bare with me, this is probably the longest review in the history of online shopping – But I’m hoping this will share helpful information to those considering a purchase. I’ll start with my overall feelings – Yes, this is 100% worth the small investment. Our house is on the smaller side, 1200sq ft, 2 adults, a messy 6 year old, a baby in the crawling stage, and 2 dogs. Prior to this WetVac, I used disposable mopping pads three or four times a week on top of my daily sweeping, but our vinyl plank floors never felt fully clean, and our baby’s brown-kneed footie pajamas would speak to that. The first time I used this WetVac, I swept immediately before use. To say I was disgusted – “Had my husband dump it” kind of disgusted – The water in the dirty water tank was embarrassing. Not just that, there was a ton of dog hair and I had JUST swept. I had used our disposable mopping pads the day before. Clearly, they weren’t cutting it. Once the floor dried, I filled the clean water tank back up and cleaned again, then once more. On clean #3, the water was just a light grey. I am able to get through 1,200sq ft in about 15 minutes. When I say there is ZERO elbow grease required, I mean it. The wet brush really scrubs, but doesn’t scuff your floor even with the harder bristles mixed in. The water sprayer doesn’t dump water, there’s a gentle mist and it puts off just enough solution to dampen the floor for a thorough clean. My favorite part is – Our baby’s pajama knees no longer turn brown. I do have some pointers and other things to share, though: 1) Yes, you’re going to save a ton of time during the initial cleaning – However DO expect to invest some time to care for your WetVac: – The self-clean is a MUST after every use. If you have pets or particularly dirty floors, run the cycle twice or three times. I’ve noticed that after 1 self-clean cycle, there’s still some dog hair stuck to the brush. It takes nothing to run it a few times, as long as your clean water tank is full and your dirty water tank isn’t too full. – Do NOT leave the dirty water tank closed for more than a day. We went away for a 3-day weekend. I had drained the tanks before leaving, but there was a gross musty smell when I started using it the next morning. It was coming from the brush and the dirty water tank. What I have started doing to avoid this, is I take the dirty water tank apart, take the brush out, and let them dry on our porch after use. I haven’t had the musty smell since. – If you’re planning to use this as a normal vacuum, I’ll warn you that the brush is not clean-out friendly. You’re going to have to clean hair, strings, you name it – off the brush. Truthfully, I used ours as a regular vacuum once to see how it worked in our 1 carpeted room, and I threw the brush right away. I’ll never use it as a regular vacuum again. 2) If you bump into furniture while using the WetVac feature, it can pop off the brush cover. – If you bump into something, push the cover down with your foot to re-secure it. Otherwise, it can fall off and you’ll get sprayed with water. Fun times. 3) I might be overthinking this, but I’m hoping my battery isn’t weakening. – I’ve realized, I was able to get my floors done with about 75% left of charge left at first. Now, I have 66-68% left after a clean for the same Sq Ft. I’m hoping my battery isn’t weakening, I’ll report back eventually. 4) The “dirty water tank” sensor. – I’m not sure if it’s a faulty sensor, though I always start with a clean and dry tank and sponge. It tells me 3 or 4 times to clean the dirty water tank and sponge, even though they’re still empty. It’s annoying but not a deal-breaker. Overall, there’s a few quirks as expected. But I will tell you, I’ll never go back to disposable mopping pads. This was a game changer for this ever-busy mama and I am truly pleased with the job it does cleaning our floors.Lauren7

I love this WetVac. It has made my life so much easier, because now I don't need to sweep then mop. I love how it has a trigger to let the water out, so if you don't need to mop a certain area, you can just vacuum it. I also really love that it has a high and Lo setting. I really love that it has a self cleaning feature. I also really love that it tells you the percentage of the battery that is left. The only thing I did not like about this vacuum was the cord that goes from the outlet to the base is not very long. I wish it was just a little bit longer. Overall this is a great Vacuum and I would highly recommend it.cutegene

This is a great concept but a failure at both being a wet jet and a vacuum. First, it didn't come with any accessories, it is only meant to clean floors. No attachments for stairs, couches, drapes etc. The only time a light comes on is when the trigger is pulled for the wet jet so you can't see going under furniture, which is difficult anyways because this vacuum doesn't lay flat. The wet jets don't spray evenly so there are constantly lines on the floor. The rollers stay wet so dirt and grime cling to them and when you go onto your rugs the dirt and dust transfer into the rugs. Just gross. For those with cats, litter touches the wet rollers and turn to wet clay and clog the system. The vacuum portion isn't really strong enough to suction litter out of tile grout. Just leaves it there wet. I had cut my hair and tried to vacuum up the little pieces left behind but the vacuum failed. It suctioned up some and then I'd move the vacuum forward and they'd all fall out. Emptying the dirt container is made more difficult because of the wetness. Dirt,dust, hair, fur,litter is now all wet and glued together and didn't empty when tilted over a garbage can. Plus the container itself has so many grooves and pieces for stuff to stuck to. Really,really gross. It's not a wet jet and not a vacuum. Needs workMandee

Great product! I wish I would have bought it sooner! Alot of the negative reviews read simular to complaining that a walk behind/push mower won't effectively mow through 2 ft. high thick grass without stopping or complaining that the dishwash didn't remove/clean the queso from
your crock pot that was left on for 3 hours… com'on!? That being said, you will have to vaccum/sweep up prior to using, especially if you have dogs that shed or alot of debris as it does not function as a HEAVY DUTY vaccum (this isnt a shop vac) nor is it a rug doctor/deep carpet cleaner either. Its very easy to use and makes cleaning bare floors nearly painless! I have 2 large dogs & 3 childern, so I "pre" vacuum before using every time. (Just like scrubbing the caked on queso) only if you have a Rumba type machine and use the Crosswave after it's done most of the debris clean up, you dont even hVe to. It's amazing. The frequently mentioned "clean up" after using is comical, ITS NOT THAT HARD OR MUCH MORE WORK! As you would ring out a mop or rinse the bucket post cleaning… same concept, only on a much smaller, less messy scale. You will have to let the filter dry before using, but you can purchase additional filters for next to nothing online (6 for 12 bucks). I use the Garage Pro for what it was designed for, have it mounted in one corner of a two car garage. I clean the cars, and the garage, on a bi-weekly basis and have owned this vacuum for over one year. I really like the Garage Pro. It has few flaws, and those few are minor, probably couldn't even call them "flaws". I think that the cord ought to be longer for a device like this, considering it is intended to be wall-mounted. The super-long hose is awesome; I have the vacuum mounted in one corner of the two car garage and can clean both cars (a sedan and a minivan) with little struggle. The only issue is when you find something you don't want to vacuum or need to turn the suction off for a minute, that super long hose puts you a long way from the power switch! So what I did was purchase a remote-controlled plug-in switch from a hardware store. Problem solved! If you do the same thing, be sure to consider the Amperage and Voltage specifications on the vacuum and be sure the remote-controlled switch will meet or exceed that. I do not use the vacuum for cleaning up such things as wet leaves in the garage, as others had noted in reviews that it didn't work well for. I instead use my brain to determine that there is no vacuum one should use to suck up wet leaves in the garage, just blow them out or rake them up. On the topic of blowing, I have not used the vacuum as a blower so can't comment on that functionality. If Bissell incorporated a remote-controlled power function on this vacuum it would be PERFECT, but as it stands it is a very nice unit that was a good investment for me. I can just walk to the garage to clean up the cars, instead of driving them back and forth to a car wash. And after one year I still consider it to be a well manufactured unit.JJ

I use this vacuum for detaining cars. At this point I've had this vacuum for about 3-4 years and it has never failed to meet if not exceed my expectations. I use it very consistently and haven't had any issues out of it apart from stuff I have damaged in the past. The hose, mounting bracket and the vacuum itself all feel and preform like I would expect for a shopvac like this. I have also used it to get water out of a friends flooded basement and it did a stellar job at that too seeing as we were both sucking water up for a few hours and it never had a single issue handling that as well. The only real complaint I have about the vacuum is the hose, if you aren't careful it can kink up pretty easily but other than that I absolutely love it and will probably buy another one when mine bites the dust.Zach

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I'm not impressed. I'm already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience. It doesn't have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush. It's really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full. I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don't. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself. It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum. My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can't be removed. This was probably my worst "big purchase" of 2021. I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present, but I do not like it at all. It is not convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry. So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler’s mess AND warm up and use my steam mop. Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use. I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good. It’s also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it’s evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section. It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it. The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap. For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs.Melissa O

I wanted a powerful vacuum and a way to keep carpets clean so gave this a buy after reading other reviews. Wow, the suction is beyond good. Almost too much when using the airo brush on carpets maybe but the standard attachment is perfect. Tried out the wet clean feature on our fabric dining chairs. They didn’t seem dirty so wasn’t expecting much change. I was wrong. The cleaning solution supplied is a wonder, spray it on, a gentle brush to work it in and the amount of dirty water sucked back out was shocking!! Definitely recommend this if you have hard floors, carpets and upholstery to keep. It really does do it all. Yes the power cord doesn’t wind in but it rolls up and tucks neatly under the carry handle so doesn’t bother me.Nathan W.

I won’t lie, I’ve always wanted the one Henry vacuum with my name on it, and after hearing the parents express a desire to get the carpets and car freshened up this spring, I broke my silence and ordered George immediately. Having ordered on a Bank Holiday I was thoroughly impressed to see him arrive a day-and-a-half later, and he’s been quickly pressed into service over the last two weeks. You get a hell of a lot of Numatic for your money with this one, in dry mode it is exactly the same as using a Henry- giant bag capacity, solid tools, simple operation and the suction is exceptional. Nothing less expected, and delivered on with every use. I have the Pet Kit with my other Henry, and both AiroBrush tools make it a powerful pet-hair tackler! George really shines however when you switch to wet operations. Having last used a multifunction cleaner years ago (from another make, which required having the nozzle always lower than the machine, because the suction powered gravity-fed solution was incredibly weak) the electric pump system on George is first-rate. You can clean quicker knowing when you pass along any surface, that the cleaning solution is going where it should the first time. Having a pure wet-extraction hose as well as a dry one, with the solution tube fully built in, means extra time saved by not having to clip together so much. I have only used the supplied Nuchem 4 solution so far, but it’s a generous supply to get you started. Smells very pleasant, ensures the dirty water stays without foaming in the tank, and works very well at lifting the dirt. Use decently warm water, or cold- but not hot, and you should be all set. Carpet cleaning is simple, one or two wet passes with the fishtail nozzle followed by the same without pulling the trigger seems to work well for me. Edges and tight spots around furniture with the smaller extraction nozzle ensure nowhere is left! It’s great on car interiors too, for thoroughly refreshing upholstery back to factory-fresh. The hard floor squeegee nozzle features some really stiff bristles on the reverse side, which can help with agitation should you need it on floors, before sucking it all up at the end. Spillages are dealt with without any fuss- I had a can of Coke knocked on the floor recently, and as you can hopefully see, George left nothing in his tracks. No more hurriedly patting with towels and blotting with tissue in this house again. He’s a chunky machine compared to something like a Henry 160, but you won’t think twice about that once you get him home. He’s simple, no-fuss, and all function. Exceptionally powerful, and I’m pleasantly surprised to say he’s not nearly as noisy as I expected in operation! You can feel the quality throughout as you click the metal tube connectors together, or press the switches under rubber covers, or twist the hose on with a satisfying click- it’s all thoroughly commercial, and even better to know he’s built here in Great Britain. I’ve rattled on for far too long already, but seriously- grab one and don’t look back. There’s a reason why George gets such a hype, and it’s trivially easy to get great results wherever you’re cleaning! Now, I’m off to clean the stairs. Someone hand me my Nuchem!George A.

I bought this vaccum for a specific reason, i bought it for the wet functionality.We have in the past used Vax which was just awful appreciate it probably was an older product and that newer models may have provided better results and we have used Bissell. The Bissell in my opinion was better, but i didnt like the idea of storing some large upright standing vaccum for the odd occasion, and have a traditional dry vaccum.We originally looked at the Bissell SpotClean Pro, but again the downside is that it is specifically a wet vaccum only, and at 149.99 there isnt that much price difference between The Bissell and Henry George but you also gain the dry function.Now i have a bit of a hoovervaccum obsession.In my laymans thinking way, a hoover should by design be able to hoover anything that you want it to hoover up within reason, water being the obvious product that cannot be generally hoovered up and over the past few years of home ownership 6 years we have had 2 Vaxs and 3 Dysons. 2of the Dysons are still operational and in the house, but dont get used. 1 is the cinetic big ball, and its way too cumbersome and heavy, and oddly even with suction reduction, doesnt hoover our carpets, its impossible. And the other is a V6 Animal cordless hoover which after 3 minute of hoovering needs to be emptied, or over a year of use the battery gives up and a replacement needed.I was advised by a friend to buy a Henry because A. They have fantastic suction B. It hoovers up everything from dirt and dog hair, to rubble and plaster, and C. they are cheap and are easy to get spare parts for and will generally last years. I always turned my nose up at the Henry range, thinking a cheap vaccum that has a power cord couldnt be better than a 300 dyson cordless hoover. I took the plunge and bought a Henry Hoover to help with some rubble and plaster dust from a bathroom refit we were doing. I was amazed. They are fantastic.They are by my own admission a no frills plastic tub hoover with a small motor, a smiley face and some attachements with a Hepaflo Bag. But my god is it useful, and for the price, no complaints. To this day i have hoovered anything i wanted, Sawdust, Plaster, Rubble, Dirt, Dust etc and it never gets blocked. When the suction gets a bit weak your bag is full change the bag and bang, full power again.By this experience i decided to get another Henry product.This is where the George came in. With the lockdown and issues happening globally around the virus that prevents our normality, we have cancelled our travel plans, and as most people are doing, we decided to focus on making our home look and feel a little less tired. Painting, decorating and making our garden resemble something off of Love Island the wifes idea. And i decided i wanted something that would clean our cars, and carpets and provide us with good clean results and something i knew would last for further occasions in the future.So we bought the George.I once again was not disappointed. Powerful, more so than our dry hoover, comes with all the necessary well designed and thought out attachements for all applications.I finished my carpet stairs and our sons bedroom with the wet function, and to my surprise was amazed with how much dirt it collects. It simply just works, No frills, No over complications and easy instructions.I havent tried the dry use function of it yet, however if my little 620W Henry impresses me, i cant see how the 1060W George will not do the same.My only critisim, and it is minor. But with a Henry, you can tidy the cable away within the motor housing, it simply hand turn winds back in. But with the George the cable is all loose, and there is a fair amount of it.There is a hook on the back for you to hang a looped cable over, but this to me just seems a little messy and i would have preferred Numatic to have built this with two hooks so you could wrap around both for a tidy way of securing your cable to the machine. As it happens we have used Reusable cable ties to limit how much cable is being used for easier tidying away.Aside from this, i love it, such a great tool for wet and dry use, and in my experience of the wet use, it couldnt be easier and makes carpets feel and smell fresher.As we already have a henry for the house, this will now be a Vaccum for the car and wet use on anything else.There are plenty of useful Youtube videos online showing the applications of this Vaccum, and i honestly thing it was worth the price we paid.910 i would rate higher, but i dont like the cable design.Elizabeth A

Plenty of power and lots of capacity. Not very heavy, considering the size, so most people can carry it up and down stairs. The tool basket is a huge plus. The floor tool needs to be at the right angle for the best suction, but I am not sure how they would improve that. It would also be nice if the brush were included instead of as an extra purchase. The vac is loud, but perhaps that is necessary for the power, of which there is plenty. To park and move, the hose can be connected to two mounts at the back of the vac. I find it more convenient to pass the hose over and tie it to the tool basket.RidgidVacUser

Omg… This is the beast of shop vacs, I love it in all its shininess!! The stainless bucket is the best, so easy to thoroughly clean, unlike plastic buckets. Ive used it as a leaf blower on my deck, I've used it to vacuum sawdust off my sidewalk…it's awesome. Good power level, kinda noisy, but not noisier than any other from what I can tell. The only downside, I feel, is the hose. It feels a little cheap to me. If I pull on it while blowing/vacuuming, it sometimes falls into pieces. The attachments don't "lock" on, and I'm kind of weak, so they don't maybe get pushed on hard enough. I might go ahead and purchase the higher quality hose that is available just to avoid this problem in the future.S.

I bought this vac to clean the floor in my horse barn. I rake up the large pieces of hay and then the vac does everything else…..dried mud, horse dander, fine dust, small bits of hay. I had a Shop Vac before this one and only used it once then gave it away. The Ridgid is so much better than that Shop Vac. I gave it four stars in ease of use because I'd like a longer hose to reach the top of the stairs going to the loft. I can buy that separately I guess. Another reason is that it is unclear if bags are needed or not. I don't use bags but find the filter gets really dusty inside and needs a lot of shaking out. I gave the durability only four stars because I have only owned it for a week – not long enough to mark it on durability.Joybell3

Works great! Unfortunately my 20 plus year old small shop vac I use for vehicles and garage died from drywall dust abuse so I had to get another and this works great as it's replacement. One downside is it should come with the BRUSH attachment for the price it was. Now to just use my bigger one for the construction stuff….anonymous

I originally bought the 12 gal size but returned it in favor of the 6, which I was really happy that I did. For regular household use, this is perfect. Some of the reviews were complaining about the casters; while they required some force to get in, they seem to be pretty locked in. I'd rather have to apply some force rather than have the wheels fall off. The 20' long power cord is also nice as it gives plenty of room to work with. The hose is a good length. Overall this is a really great machine for the price.Zamfir

Our Shop-Vac 6 gal 3 hp wet/dry vac gave out after many years of service. After researching way too many choices online, I settled on the Craftsman 6 gal. Corded Wet/Dry Vacuum 3-1/2 hp. While the machine size was what we wanted, and the price was right, especially with the Ace Rewards $20 discount, I was concerned that it came with so few attachments and a 1-7/8" hose that is not compatible with the assortment of 1-1/4" Shop-Vac tools we have acquired over the years. Ace does not sell a 1-7/8" to 1-1/4" adapter, but I assumed I'd find one somewhere online. When I got the vacuum home and put it together (easy assembly, by the way) I found that the machine end of the Craftsman 1-7/8" hose is identical to the that of the Shop-Vac 1-1/4" hose – each will plug into the machine's intake for a secure, no-leak fit. So, problem solved, and no adapter needed. We prefer the flexibility of the old 1-1/4" hose to the new, more rigid 1-7/8" hose for most of our around-the-house needs. If we have a bigger job that will benefit from the larger diameter hose, we'll simple switch hoses. The machine seems durable, with ample power and suction using either hose, and should meet our wet/dry vac needs for years to come.Paul

I received a brand new Bissell Crosswave HF3 Cordless Multi-Surface hard floor cleaner complimentary from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest review. First off I would like to say how simple this was to assemble. Right out of the box, I just had to firmly snap in the top handle to the bottom of the device until I heard a click. This is something anyone can easily put together quickly. I made sure to read the instructions manual a couple of times. Being cordless, the only downfall I discovered was how long it took to fully charge this device. 4.5 hours to fully charge it, and I got around 30 minutes of use before I had to charge it again. I love how simple it is to switch from low to high mode and the LED lighted indicators. I have hard wood flooring, as well as tile flooring at my house. This is ideal for anyone who doesn't have carpet flooring. The charge dock is very interesting because the device fits perfectly onto the dock and you plug in the adapter go the docking station. Then plug it into any normal outlet. This doesn't take up a lot of space and it makes my floors spotless. It will let me know when the battery is low with a blue flash light. This came with a very handy brush and strainer which makes it much easier and quicker to clean it. Not to mention it has a self cleaning mode. You have to recline the device in order for it to start working. I then select if I want low or high water flow and it automatically dispenses the fluid + water mix. Then I push it forward and backwards to get the job done. Being that this is cordless, I can get into places I normally can't reach unlike other machines I've owned before. Also I don't have to worry about any cords getting tangled or not reaching. For a nice deep clean, I used the high mode which you will see the liquid on the floor. This is suppose to happen. You want to let it soak in for at least five minutes before going over it. For really stuck on stains, I had to repeat this process a few times. This machine is lightweight and easy to maneuver. I definitely would recommend buying this Crosswave by Bissell! I am still learning how to use the machine after having a little over a week and I did watch a few videos on how to remove the brush roll. I also like how you put the solution and water in the top part and the dirty water dispenses on the bottom. I've had zero issues with this leaking. Also if you tend to have a lot of hair on the floor, make sure to check the brush roll so you can cut off any hair that has tangled on the roll. I do wish it came with an extra brush roll but that is ok because I can find parts for this very easily. Do not make the mistake of over filling the top water tank. There are two lines, one for the water and one for the Bissell solution. I love that this comes with a 18 month warranty. Do not forget to fill out the warranty card and mail it out or you won't have any warranty. Bissell has their own support team that you can either email or call with questions or concerns. The price of this machine is a little pricey, but after trying I definitely understand why. It actually works! So far so good.Redhdedgrl

This shop vac is a nice intersection of capacity, power and price. 12 gallons is plenty for my needs. With its low center of gravity, it is difficult if not impossible to tip it off its wheels. The connection collar for the smaller diameter hose from my previous ancient shop vac fits in the coupling intake of this new one….a bonus. The vac comes with many attachments that can be stored on the machine. Half the noise of my old vac. And its construction is stout. Its a winner!Btowner

We were excited to find this one on sale, it had much higher horsepower than a smaller one used for years. Since we ordered it online as a Christmas gift for ourselves, we were not aware of how tight or well it went together, & did mot get a chance to use it right away within the 1st 30 days, as 30 days ended before Christmas! 1) It is HUGE, much, much bigger than a larger-capacity one we have of a different brand. Make sure you have a very large storage place if you buy this one. It is much bigger around than it is tall. 2) Regretfully, when trying to use it, as much dog hair/dirt/soot (still in places from the huge fire near us last summer) blew OUT of it as going in, the two times we tried it-& it didn't work for the garage any better than our dirty house. No matter how things were put together, it still has a very large output of whatever dirt you are trying to put in it, blowing all over so it makes it harder to clean afterwards than if you'd just left it or swept it up. We have not figured out yet, other than a good amount of Duct Tape, how to attach another hose to where the debris pours out, but hope to find something to use soon. This does not work well as a wet/dry yet, I hope I can change my rating after we jerry-rig it to work better.olga_p

I purchased the 20 gallon wet/dry vacuum with the 6.5 peak for my shop expecting a high quality Craftsman product. No so! First, no screws were included in the packaging to mount the handle or hose retainers. I immediately called customer support only to be told that my product support people don't work on the weekend so I should call back on Monday!!! The person on the phone could not help me. Not much of a help line if you have a job M-F. I ended up using my own screws to assemble it. Otherwise assembly was simple except the casters wouldn't "snap in" as per the instructions. I had to hit them in with a mallet which is a little unnerving when the parts are made from plastic. The motor housing lid does not fit snugly to the base. When you lift the vacuum by the handle, the motor housing separates from the base. The 20 foot cord is nice except the cord retention feature on the handle is designed to accept a 10 ft cord. The 20 foot cord won't all fit and annoyingly falls off. The vacuum hose is very stiff plastic. It requires you to "fight" with it while using it. It has a strong memory to the shape it took on in the packaging. The only reason I gave it a 2 start rating as opposed to a 1 star is because I like the 20 gallon size it on 1st use, it does have pretty good power and suction.Neal

I prefer this version of the Rigid Vac without wheels, because it is lightweight and more maneuverable in 3 dimensions, not just at floor level. I also understand that the black and red Rigids are more robust than the orange and gray. It has excellent suction and the top-to-tank seal is very good. I recommend also purchasing the Ridgid Car Detailing Kit because of the 10' more-maneuverable Jose and the tool variety.Zoro

Bought to replace my other wet/dry vac. The machine looks good that’s all I can say. When you try to dump the water you have to remove all tools or you will spill them out. Water blows out the back of the machine defeating all the purpose. Waste of $$$. Wish I still had my receiptWood Searay

Bought to use as car vac and leaf blower. Vacuum works but, as other reviewers have mentioned, blower function design faulty. Imagine yourself on a roof top using the blower function to clean out the gutters and the hose disconnecting from the unit over and over and over. You duct tape it as best you can but it only helps a little, so you keep having to turn the unit off, reattach hose, blow some leaves, turn the unit off, reattach the hose, blow some leaves…. oh and remember to watch your step too cause you are on a roof. I hope Rigid is working on a hose adapter to make up for this defect. As it is now, the hose is supposed stay connected to the unit with one short tooth of a plastic tab. Other reviewers also mentioned that the lifetime warranty is a joke. I hope this has changed. Have not used the wet function.Fidd1er

After searching for an small but sturdy wet/dry vac, I found this through a mailer. Unlike what was available on the A-Z site, this one is sturdy, does not turn over easily, and was fairly easy to assemble. OK I did have to have a guy help push in the wheels, but when together it is large enough to do the job, and the wheels keep it from over turning. I highly recommend it for small to medium jobs – and it can be used as a regular vacuum or to pick up water. The instruction book is helpful and clear on how to use and easy to put together.Auddiemae

Has Craftsman gone downhill? Whole lot of plastic included in a lot of their new offerings, and whadaya know…I smell some burning here. Had a Shop-Vac brand, same size, finally died after years and years…replaced it with this one thinking "Craftsman has great warranties, and high quality, right?" Bought the vac and then after one use the world turned upside down. Now after getting somewhat normalized I've used it three more times. On it’s real third use the motor started sounding rough. Inspection led to nothing unusual sticking where it shouldn’t. Last use the motor started smoking and now won’t run but a few seconds till the thermal cuts it off Yes, I would very much like to speak to you about this vacuum.Tea3803
