This printer is very hard to setup wirelessly. This printer will power its self off after idle for a time, then, the wireless connection is lost. You then have to go thur and re-set up the wireless connection every time you want to print. I haven't tried to print wired. This printer should work with Amazon Alexa i can't get that to work either. The App is very frustrating making you jump between printers Wi-Fi hotspot and your network and then, the printer times itself out. you have to start over again. Historically, I’ve struggled with printers. When you need them most, something always goes wrong. What I hate most is when it won’t print a black and white page because I’m out of one of the colored toners. So far, I love this printer. I love that it’s white, not a big ugly black box. If it were a pretty color, I’d love it more. The only thing I haven’t liked is that it turns itself off after several hours. There may be a setting to fix that but I haven’t researched it yet. The toner it came with has lasted quite awhile. I’ve printed labels with color, pages of baby shower games, posters and documents, and so far it isn’t saying its low. It linked with my iphone and MacBook very easily. Haven’t had a single issue.Bcar

I bought this printer despite the many negative reviews I read since they had to do with things like installation or poor wifi connection, and I believe those are not really product issues. I followed the instructions and was able to set up the printer in less than 20 minutes. It has not been a problem for me, and has survived the first month of heavy duty printing since I’m a graduate student and my partner is a teacher. The ink that comes with the printer isn’t much- I’m already basically out of ink- but it’s good to get you started in a pinch. The scanning feature is also great, and using the canon app on my phone makes all the difference controlling the printer as well. High recommend for students or folks who need something slightly above just printer, but don’t need the faxing, double sided printing, or the copying features.JoeLinks

I do most of my printing, scanning, and copying on my laser printer. For several years, I've been looking for a Color Inkjet Printer without the All-in-One stuff. I finally found this unit and was overjoyed. So now that I have it, here's what I know so far. It's as advertised. Setup was fairly straight forward. I've only printed one thing on it so far, and it was on plain paper, but I was surprised how nice the picture came out. I've used inkjets before, several years ago, and this seemed faster and a much better print on plain paper than I could expect. I look forward to using it with photo paper.Donald

I was in need of a printer last minute. After shopping around I figured B&H is the best place to go. I found this printer that's in my budget. I've never had such an easier set up for a machine like this before. Simply plug it in and follow the online instructions. Was able to print what I needed withing five minutes of taking it out the box! I call that impressive. It works for all basic printing needs and they even include two photo quality pages to print on – call that a bonus! Although it doesn't have a physical scanner, the compatible app makes scanning and printing an absolute breeze. It's a very basic printer and I was able to get it connected to my phone pretty easily. It prints and scans from my phone just fine (although it's a little sluggish). My macbook, on the other hand, was a different story… I tried to get it connected to my macbook for hours and it never connected. Even looked up Youtube videos to troubleshoot and get different ways to connect it to my laptop. I gave up, it's a lost cause. Fortunately, when you sign up for the HP app, you can directly email documents to the printer itself and it'll print out. So I've been doing that as a roundabout way to print documents from my laptop and it has been working flawlessly thus far (I've had it for about one month). Overall, it does its job, but it obviously has some caveats. I wanted to splurge a bit more and get a nicer printer, but everything was sold out, so I settled for this one. I don't print or scan a ton, only once in awhile, so this will do for now. Also, I'm a simple man when it comes to printers. I just want something to plug into my laptop and just print and scan documents. All this smart app stuff is just unnecessary to me and overly complicated for what should be a simple device. But again, I had a lack of options. The app itself is good, I just find the idea around it for a freakin' printer to be ridiculous. So yea, it's a decent home printer, but if you need a printer for work, I would definitely look for something better. As far as print goes, this wasn't a bad printer, however if you want the insta-ink option and wifi, you may be in for a fight. I bought this on a Friday night and after some struggling, was able to connect to my computer and phone, via wifi. I was never able to set up the insta-ink subscription. I kept getting "there in an error with your subscription". I did print several things, including a picture, and the print was very good. However, since one of the main reasons that I purchased this printer was the ability to save money with the insta-ink program, this was only a partial success. Fast forward to Monday, when I could reach out to customer support. After 15 minute on hold with the virtual assistant, I was able to connect with customer support. He understood the issue and said it would take about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, he wanted to connect into my computer, which I was not comfortable with, so he kept having me do different steps. After another 40 minutes, I told him that I had to work and would have to contact them back. 1 hour down. After work, I contacted again through the virtual assistant. Again, they wanted to remote in, again I said no. Again said 20 minutes to fix. The printer was hooked up, I just couldn't get the insta-ink program to work. They couldn't explain why it wasn't working. after 1/2 an hour of doing the same steps over and over and she still couldn't get the insta-ink to work, I gave in and let her remote into my computer. She took another 40 minutes, but finally got the program to work but somehow managed to kill the wifi. I couldn't connect without a cable ( which was not included and I just happened to have from an old printer) and she had no idea why. She sait that was another department and I would have to contact them. Anothe hour and a half of my time (I'm up to 2 and 1/2 hours now) and still don't have my printer working. Fast forward to Tuesday, after work, I contacted the department that she instructed me to, this time I held on the phone for 20 minutes or so. Again, when rhe person answered, he sai 20 minutes to fix (this must be a standard answer for everything). This time, when he wanted to remote in, I gave assess. He kept taking to me, explaining what he was doing, but again, could only get the printer to work wit a cable. When I asked what he would have done it I didn't have a cable, he said that he could've mailed one or I would've had to gone out and purchased 1. But he was going to fix it so that I could print via wifi. After almost an hour and a half, he reset the printer to factory specs, had me turn off the printer and restart my computer. My computer came back on, the printer never did. He said that the printer was outdated and that there were better ones now. I gave up. He wanted to keep working, told him I wasn't interested, that I was packing the printer back up and returning to store. He wanted me to give more time… after giving HP over 4 hours of my life, I said enough. Packed the printer up, Will never purchase an HP again.JayneG

I needed a small all in one for the space it had to go into. Printers started getting rather large compared to what they were years ago and it was getting hard to find one to fit in the space. It's a cheap printer, feels like a cheap printer and I don't know how long it'll last but it may surprise me. HP claims it to have a 1000 page per month duty cycle and I don't print anywhere near that number so maybe it will last 4 or 5 years … or maybe not. I've only owned this a couple of days and so far all the functions seem to work OK. It was very difficult to set up using a wifi network with a security password so one word of advice – use your smart phone to install it on a secure network. The phone set the printer up quickly after I struggled for quite a while on the computer. Also, you need to log into the printer for internet access and it asks you for a password – I found it is either just the "enter" button or "space" then "enter" buttons. Once I got it all set up it seems to be working OK. One thing I've always hated with the 2 ink cartridge system is wasting some unused expensive ink; I've signed up for the trial of the instant ink program to see if it is more economical to do it that way. I took away 1 star because of the setup and how cheap it feels. I would have probably bought a little better all in one if they made more (and the store having more options at the time of purchase) of the size I need. We bought two of these Epson 2803 printers. We've had several problems, chronically. 1. We cannot get each printer to reliably print from the proper computer, mine or my wife's. We've called Epson repeatedly without solution. 2. The color is bad, not good for photos. 3. Mid-print, the printer will stop and fail, especially on jobs over 20 pages. 4. The on-line fix tool is worthless, in fact each time the fix tool gets stuck in a useless loop. It is not an operator problem. 4. The Wifi connection will fail mid-print, even though the Wifi is not having a problem. The one upside of this printer is that the ink does last much longer, But the technology of the machine itself is in infant stages.EN

Struggled for years with cartridges that clogged or would cause printer to not work. Sure hope this ET 2803 continues to work as well as it is now. Only had it a few days but like it so far. Setting up was not too bad, but I did not do the wireless connection. I used a USB/printer cord. It was difficult to see the postage-stamp size LCD screen and following instructions was harder than it should have been as a result. Thus the 4 star rating. Plus, the top seems flimsy compared to my old printer. I used the CD to load the Epson drivers and utilities and that went well. It updated all the utilities and the software/firmware without a hitch. It prints well, and goes plenty fast. It runs fairly quiet, even in the regular (not quiet) mode. I would not call the colors vibrant, but they certainly are acceptable. Filling the tanks was easy, they are idiot-proof since each color bottle fits only that tank. No mess-no fuss. The 65ML bottles fill the ink tanks just about to the top. I should get a year or more out of the black and maybe longer out of the colors. When I received the Epson Ecotank ET-2803 wireless all-in-one cartridge free super tank printer with scan and copy, I thought it was going to be one of those printers with a hard to follow setup and use but I have to say once I got started I was shocked at just how easy it was. The setup gives you clear written step by step instructions that include pictures and detail diagrams. The entire setup process took me approximately 10 minutes including filling the ink compartment. The ink was my main concern as never had a printer this type. It actually was super simple to fill. The bottles fit perfectly into each of their tanks so there's absolutely no mess. It also stops as soon as the tanks reach their full capacity. So no worries about the ink overflowing. The print quality is amazing and the colors are come out vibrant and beautiful. It was a little confusing at first trying to figure out the settings to print but once I did I was able to print several pages very quickly without any issues The printer itself is very lightweight and compact which makes it easy to put it just about anywhere. So far everything has exceeded my expectations and I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Pros: Auto switch on /off is great facility, printer can be left off until printing a document where it auto starts and can be set to switch off again after a certain time. Good quality prints and came with a proper set of inks, not the cheapskate set of 'starter inks'. Cons: Dual side printing is very slow. The first side is ok but then it sits for several seconds before starting the cycle to reverse the paper and print side two.Ian

Printer won't connect to wifi, even when situated right next to the router. So yesterday we bought a USB cable to connect manually to our desk top p.c.. Got home, printed a previously scanned, saved document. Printed 3 pages VERY slowly. We then tried to print an email attachment received earlier. This is my second MX922… My first one lived for 6 years and performed beautifully. But I fried the power supply on the first one by unplugging it without turning it off. My bad. So I bought another one… paid way more than the first. Why? Because Canon discontinued this printer a few years ago. Their current printers are not even CLOSE to this good. This is the second MX922 I have owned. It prints fantastic photos. I print a lot of photos and greeting cards and it does a great job no matter what type of paper I use (matte, glossy, textured). The scanning software actually gives better results scanning old photos than a well regarded photo scanning software I purchased so I just use the default software. The copy feature is quick and easy to use. Unfortunately, Canon quit making this model so I hope this one lasts a long time and that Canon keeps making the print cartridges. I use the larger print cartridges by Canon (XL) and they seem to last a long time.oldone101

I purchased this PX922 because my 8year old model (the SAME one exactly) suddenly developed CODE issues that I couldn't solve with the Manual or online help. So… I thought that I'd get another & simply unwrap it & GO!!! Unfortunately I needed a Technician to help me walk thru the various steps that it took to setup my printer for wireless use. My Tech was superbly helpful, but there was a 15minute+ wait to get him on the phone. Once connected (an American in Virginia) Derwin guided me through the hurdles calmly (awesome phone support from Canon)! I have a bit of Buyers Remorse due to the $400 price, and no need for FAX feature. This is not a "Karen" review; I have genuine critiques regarding the performance of this printer. I work in prints quite literally all the time and it will be my full time job once I graduate. This printer is not necessarily budget friendly for a college student but it seemed good at first for me to try and investing in. The first printer that came to me had issues printing colors smoothly and with saturation. There were horizontal strokes of patchiness so I contacted Brother regarding this issue. They determined it wasn't my toners so they sent me a replacement printer at no extra cost to me which was excepted. The same issues occurred. I don't blame the customer service—they were great. My issues was with the performance of this printer. How can I receive two disappointing printers that don't work any better than my crummy HP inkjet printer that barely has ink? It was my fault for not contacting Brother sooner within my 30 day warranty they gave me, but I cannot express how much I'm deterred from buying Brother printers here on out due to this experience. Also, if you print directly from any Adobe program, the printer doesn't read any of my typography as vectors and prints it horribly. You have to save it as a PDF and then print it, if you're wondering. It's a black and white printer for general use now at my house despite all my attempts to change print settings and triple check the printer settings. You're better off getting a different printer or going to HP. Brother print app also need serious help it is not user-friendly and will benefit from making it a smoother experience. This is the best printer I’ve ever owned! I had HP printers before, so that may not seem like saying much, but… I had purchased a HP printer along with a new HP laptop. I thought the wireless setup would be easy, since both products came from the same company. I ended up returning it, since I could never get it to work properly. My experience with the Brother printer has been totally different. Setup was easy. The instructions that came with the printer told me exactly where to go to download drivers and connect the printer to the internet and my computer wirelessly. It’s been great! Everything works the way it’s supposed to, and I’m easily able to print from my computer and scan documents into my computer. I'm an artist/illustrator and photographer and I wanted to bring printing in-house rather than farming out to a vendor. I wanted a printer that had high-capacity ink tanks and could make high-quality prints on heavyweight papers (250-300gsm). The Epson Et-85xx printers tick both boxes! I purchased the ET-8500 model as I have no need for printing larger than 8.5×11 or A4 borderless. Set up on MacOS 11 was fast and easy. My first test print on XPress-It blending card (uncoated 250gsm art paper) stunned me: a quick print on the plain paper setting yield a vibrant print that was much closer to my original alcohol ink rendering than what I had been receiving from a vendor! I've tested on a variety of coated papers ranging in weight from 140 to 250 gsm and even printed on watercolor paper with amazing results. I have not yet printed photographs but I am confident that the quality will be fantastic.Brian

Let's get the first things out of the way, it's cheap to run and it does a pretty darn good job of printing photographs! Now the rest…… It made of flimsy plastic, I suspect the manual sheet food at the back and the whole front paper-tray / loading mechanism are made from brittleanium and will be lucky to last six months let alone two years. I couldn't find out how many sheets of paper it's supposed to hold but the answer is 'not many', don't keep your paper supply too far away or you're going to get fit getting more paper every ten minutes. Remember how I said it prints great photos…Pity about the software that comes with it though. I like to bulk buy my photographic paper in A4 size (hey, if you've bought a photo printer you're probably going to print quite a few) and print the photos in the middle of the sheet of paper. This allows me to print 4*6 or 5*7 or 8*10 photos on the same size paper and trim as required. There doesn't appear to be any option to select "Print my photo in the middle of the paper", all photos seem to print right at the edge, and to add insult to injury, the software doesn't seem to give you an option as to what size you'd like the photo printed at. I should be able to grab any file from my computer and ask the software to print it in my desired physical size (and crop as necessary) anywhere on the paper, aligned top, bottom, middle, wherever I want. In short, great print quality but let down by build quality and poor software.Disappointed42

I own the ET-8500 and the XP-970. Both do an exceptional job printing lab-grade photographs. However, the ink consumption/cost involved with getting the job done lie at opposite ends of the spectrum… ET-8500 budget friendly — XP-970 VERY expensive. The ET-8500 uses 5 color of bottled ink. The XP-970 uses 6 colors of cartridges. With that said, I use the ET-8500 for all my creative needs- from printing ultra-premium glossy photos to plain paper print documents. I enjoy the ease in switching between paper types, sizes, and print quality. For the holidays, I made over 75 calendar/planners as gifts. Each consisted of 14 glossy photos and 18 cardstock pages. The ink-levels remained well above 3/4's full and are still going strong after printing a dozen photo story booklets for my granddaughter, and dozens of 4×6 photos for card-making. It is quite astonishing. I recommend this printer, without hesitation, to anyone who enjoys sharing creative color publications without going broke. PS- I use the XP-970 for photos I wish to frame. The quality of photos printed on this printer is very impressive.Jane

I haven't used the printer all that much yet, but so far it seems great. Initial setup was very easy. I've connected it to my home network and printed wirelessly, which has gone smoothly so far. I expect it'll be easy to print wirelessly from the various devices in our household (laptops, android phones, iphones, tablets). So far it has always woken up from sleep mode when prompted to print; I was afraid it wouldn't and I'd have to make an additional trip to the printer just to wake it up. I like that the printer has an automatic document feeder and two-sided printing, and that it combines printer/copier/scanner but doesn't take up too much space. The touchscreen is fairly easy to interact with.KATE

I needed a color printer. I red several reviews on different sites to help me narrow my selection. The Brother MFC-J895DW ink jet printer was highly rated on all the sites I visited. It was moderately priced. After the printer arrived, I immediately installed the software. The printer works perfectly. It produces photo quality output. It is very fast and quiet. I can access many useful ideas online at the Brother website. I print high quality business envelopes. I feel I made a good choice to purchase this printer, Highly recommended.Eric

A few of the reviews of this printer state that print paper can be fed from the front as well as the rear. This model is rear feed only. Since it's impossible to mis-state this if you own one, it is reasonable to conclude that is that some of these review are bogus. Whoever has the biggest incentive to assure genuine reviews really needs to address this. The idea of separate tanks is appealing, since it creates a sense of economical operation compared to the unified tank designs. But you can still expect to use a lot of ink, per my own experience and according to cost-per-page comparisons I have read online. I don't have a problem with this – every printer sold neds a strategy to make money and this is what happens with low cost printers. Finally, if you want to avoid the wireless setup but also want to print from two computers in the same room, consider a 2.0 Manual Switch Selector, such as the Newlink sold elsewhere on eBay. The auto selector switches are in theory a better solution, but there seems to be a fair number of complaints about them.bongorama666

The 2 print trays make it nice, so don't have to constantly change paper between photo or letter depending on project, just select paper from drop down on app. Also, it takes up little space and is extremely quiet. The printer has been in use for only a short time, but so far, so good. It does what I need it to do, and right now, I expect nothing more. When I first started using desk-top printing, I began with a Canon. When it gave out, I went to another manufacturer. Looking back, probably not a good move: Two of the other brand gave out in less than five years, so back to Canon. I try to operate under two guidelines after buying a product: If the product serve well for a reasonable time, would I buy another? and, Would I recommend the product to another buyer who may be looking for something similar? I am so glad I bought this printer before the pandemic. I needed it when I was attended college and all the printers lab printer had some type of problems or the next lab office was far from my classes. So I decided to buy this printer to carry with me to have my assignment printed for my instructor. Even thought I did not use it for my purpose at that time, I recently open my printer box this semester and I love it! This printer is all I use now. Only one problem it makes a loud noise when it begin to print but otherwise I like it. I mean I love! I plan to call Epson and ask if the noise is normal or not. This printer contains nothing but headaches. I have replaced ink cartridges twice, maintenance box once already and I am now unable to print something greyscale because the color cartridge is empty (yes, I followed the directions on "how to bypass" but it doesn't work. Surprise surprise, the monitoring software does nothing to help. It only forces you to their website to buy something new.) All told, I think I've only ACTUALLY printed around 25 pages with this thing. I bought it because it's small and portable. So it gets a star for the compact size, portability and battery life. This would be a great printer – good print quality, small, wireless, rechargeable – if it worked regularly. Ink cartridges are preposterously expensive and don’t last long, which would be a problem if the printer worked long enough to use up the ink. The Canon Pixma ip100 prints well for a portable printer. I will be taking it on a trip next week and will try it out as a "road warrior" printer, but so far it has worked well. Easy to set up — if you have Win 8 or higher, you don't need the install CD to set up, just plug it to your laptop and it automatically acquires the Canon drivers. I had no trouble installing it on my desktop (as a second printer) or my other peripherals. It will also serve as a backup printer if my desktop printer is either engaged or stops working. The bluetooth dongle shipped with the Pixma doesn't work, but I realized it was a copy of the original and at some point, I'll purchase the authorized dongle. All in all, the Canon Pixma has not presented any problems with respect to installation and print quality. You'll hear from me if it does.lrolston

This printer is replacing the beloved by me, but no longer in production, BJC-55. This printer is a fairly large device for a portable printer. I obtained a case that it fits in for extra protection and it takes up half the space in my computer bag. Setting up the printer is easy, and it prints very well. The ink takes a LONG time to dry on Avery clear labels, so if you're going to print address labels to or from, I would print those on a regular printer either at a hotel business center or before leaving home. I carry this printer with me to be able to print adhesive name badge labels that are affixed to postcards describing places I am visiting. It works perfectly for that. I also use it for business purposes to print forms/instructions when I am at a client site visit. Unfortunately, I cannot rely on hotel printers as often they are out of paper, or worse, empty ink cartridges with no replacements available. I obtained the external battery to be able to use this printer without a power source attached, but have NEVER been able to figure out how to use the damned thing. Again, the BJC-55 was a superbly designed and extremely functional printer and I have no idea why Canon would stop making such a fabulous device and replace it with something like this.8849chrystinp

It took me a while to figure out how to print to the edge using my macbook pro. If you use a PC, I think it's more automatic the settings. The customer service is good, they took control my monitor and helped me figured out a way to print to the edge. The only way we could print to the edge is by right clicking and opening up the image as other then Photos on mac and printing as matte photo paper to get it to automatically print from the rear using card stock or photo paper. The quality of printed images isn't great. I haven't actually tested on photo paper yet so it could be better if you use photo paper perhaps. But so far I find the colour intensity kind of faded and not as intense even while I selected high quality print on cardstock and regular printing paper. I don't know if my default ink cartridge is faded but I tried refilling the cartridge with more ink and it's still not that great but passable. I like that it works and prints to the edge and can handle cardstock. If you're using this to scan frequently. This doesn't have auto load page by page. You have to load manually so takes a while to scan each page. I got it on sale about $150 tax in a while back so good budget printer and you can always refill ink manually if you find the cartridges expensive. Look up online on how to do it through Youtube. At first I got the black and I returned and got the white so it's less of a bulky black box.JY

If you are looking to print wirelessly then do not get this printer. After connecting wirelessly taking an hour after it fails repeatedly. It attempts to print 10+ times failing every time then will randomly print. If you want to print another document it will go through the same prosses resulting in taking over 30min per page. If you want to print another day then you will have to go through all the connectivity prosses again. Thought I would give Canon a second try but was very disapointed.JJ

We bought this printer before Christmas for occasional printing. I wanted something with a small footprint, didn't cost an arm and a leg for replacement ink and provided good quality. Wireless made it much easier to use with multiple sources, three computers and phones. Connection was easy, I just followed the manual. It has been a great little printer, far surpassing my requirements. Printing is quick and clear. This Canon meets our needs. I would recommend it to anyone that requires occasional printing.Roy

My older PIXMA 890 was so heavy it was almost hard to lift. But sturdy and works great until the printer head gave out. This is lighter and definitely flimsier but that seems to be the norm these days. Frustrating you have to lift the panel in front to print but the print quality has been very good and it doesn’t seem as slow as my old one to process. Instant connection to my Wi-Fi and bought the XXL compatible cartridges online that have always worked great. It doesn’t hold as much paper but it’s fine for my needs. If you try to print from a snapshot on your phone it will say it does not support that you have to let it be saved as a photo and then print it. I like canon for photos (printing of photos is one of the test they have you do when setting up) and the quality on my Matte paper was good. It is what it is, good enough without breaking the bank with their $800 ones and therefore I will keep it.Katwoman

Printer quality is excellent and feels sturdy. Wish that it came in a different color (white would've been nice imo), but otherwise this printer was lovely for the most part — easy to set up, easy to use, the dual input trays makes it super convenient to print on plain paper and specialty paper, and while I had no need for the copy/fax functions I don't doubt they would've worked well too. However, the print quality was unsalvageable for my purposes and this printer suffers from the Canon "pizza wheel" issue where the little metal "pizza wheel" looking rollers leave imprints on certain papers, such as non-Canon glossy papers. In the photos I attached with art from @glacierclear (warning, her account is for adults only; the art used here is SFW/all ages oriented) you may be able to see that the TR8620, with some flubbing about in print settings, manages to print decently saturated but still slightly dull and washed out prints. Compared to the TS6420a, the colors are brighter and more true to the source, but still run slightly warmer and slightly darker. They lack a bit of "pop". By contrast the Tango runs cooler but is more saturated, and the TS6420a is considerably darker and duller. I was hoping to use this printer to do small art prints from home, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with this printer between the color issues and pizza wheel indents (they look much like small uniform dots across the length/width of the page) and at this price point I wasn't willing to put up with it. Pros: excellent print quality (color accuracy aside); it's visibly less grainy and sharper in quality than the HP Tango. on par with the TS6420a sturdily built, this printer feels like it would last for some time (at least a year or two) convenient paper feeding options easy setup Cons: – color accuracy isn't great, colors are consistently duller and darker – pizza wheel indents make glossy prints unusable – printer is a bit large compared to the Tangomochi

I actually have the 8520, and if my comments don't apply to the 8620, I apologize in advance. Buyer beware. My experience is the the print and scan quality is good, and the software usually works. I've only done a couple of photos, and they looked fine. I have some issues where either the printer or scanner won't communicate. Principal drawback of this printer includes high ink costs. Cartridges, even the XL, do few pages and my ink costs have more than doubled after switching from an HP home printer. The main other peeve is that the scanner feed mechanism is slow and pulls the paper at an angle. I often find myself just lifting the lid and placing the page to be scanned. Yes, it is trickier than most printers to set up. You start using the provided CD-ROM and just follow instructions as provided on the quick start guide. But you will not be able to complete the install. Another reviewer mentioned that you had use two drivers. So, I downloaded newest driver from the Canon web site (always a good ideat) but the problem was not fixed, even though I got a cheerful message that the driver install was successful. The trick turned out to be: after downloading and installing newest driver, go back to the CD-Rom and proceed. Ignore the message that you still need a different driver. Just click continue. Rest was easy. All in all, it took me a few hours to figure everything out and assemble the printer. I have installed many printers in my time. The printing quality is great. I'm no expert but I closely eyeball the prints and they seem flawless. I have only printed several photos, but it seems the less fiddling you do with adjusting the colors in Photoshop, the better. I have only printed with Photoshop CC and have yet to get 13×19 *borderless* prints, (there is a .25" white space all the way around) but I am sure I can solve that eventually, perhaps by printing with InDesign. Anyway, if you want some extra-nice photos from home, this is worth the hassle of setting up.Robert

I have had this printer for about a year now. I am a wildlife photographer and thought when I started that it would be great to be able to produce large prints at home. I quickly found out that there is a whole lot more to home printing with a large format printer than meets the eye. The printer itself has been great as regards clarity of output. I use only Canon ink replacement and do not fool around with third party stuff or messy refills. I also use the expensive Canon Pro Luster paper for my prints. The main problem that I have is that all my prints come out with a green cast to them. I use the included Canon software and recommended paper profiles. I have tried everything from buying expensive calibration devices (spyder elite+) for monitor adjustment to doing a lot of proof photos with different custom settings to solve my problem but nothing seems to work. Sometimes I can get a color rendition that is acceptable but it is totally dependant on the image itself and is not consistent. I would advise people who are thinking of going into large format printing to make sure you have as much knowledge as possible about color matching, profiles, paper types, calibration and different makes of large format printers before proceeding. You also need to use this printer on a regular basis. I always make sure that I run at least one 4 X 6 print through it once a month to make sure the head does not clog. Conclusion: A person should make sure that they are buying this printer for the right reason and not just as a novelty item that is used on the odd occasion. Needless to say, I am a bit disillusioned and my Pro-100 is gathering a bit of dust right now.Steve

Unlike most users, I am not a photographer, I'm a wedding stationery designer. And this is my first LEGIT printer. I've owned standard printers in the past for basic home use, etc. I use my Canon Pixma Pro-100 for printing small batches and samples of wedding stationery/invitations for my business. This printer handles thick cover-weight paper and even handmade deckle edge cover-weight paper easily. To compare the quality, I ordered some of my stationery from a print shop that owns an HP Indigo (a top-of-the-line commercial printer), and my prints look almost exactly like theirs! WIN! However, I had a few issues with it initially because I had a hard time figuring out why my colors came out really dull compared to the computer screen. I tried playing with the different paper choices they have, but still everything came out dull on my cotton paper. I mainly used either the fine art, or matte photo paper. In search of the solution I scoured the internet, and began to regret buying it. Here's a highlight of what I learned: 1. Initially, I learned about ICC profiles, and that it's really good to know that info so you can tell your printer. But I couldn't find a profile for my paper—Savoy cotton 118# cover. 2. Then I found out about a Canon software that directly links to Photoshop, but since I use InDesign for my wedding stationery, I can't use it. 3. Then I found out that after exporting my designs to a PDF, I can print from there and control a lot more. If you click the properties button at the top of the print dialog box, there you'll see all the options. I played around in the color management checkbox until I got my prints to match. 4. FINALLY I figured out the best way to get my colors vibrant without having to do all the test prints via the minor, manual color adjustments. Since none of the other paper choices worked for me to give me vibrant colors, I select envelope, and put in the size I'm working on (usually 8.5×11 or whatever size my pre-cut stationery is). Then I print! That's it!! My colors are now more true to screen! And I don't have to waste time in the print dialog box. Since I really don't have a lot of knowledge on printing, there may even be a simpler way than that, but I haven't explored all that this printer can do. I still plan on outsourcing my printing most of the time (less hassle, only slightly more expensive per page, less time), but I'm really happy that I bought this so I can print last minute, "I need two more invitations" bride emergencies, or printing out designs I'm working on (sometimes it's nice to see it in person), or to print small batches of stationery (like if I'm participating in a styled shoot), etc. If you're feeling discouraged with this printer like I was, please try out these tips! Everything went wrong with this printer. First the setup ink would was blocked by the system from being used because they were only “setup” cartridges and I was told I needed ink. The cartridges it came with were supposed to be usable and I bought this thinking it came with ink. Then the system repeatedly said the paper tray was empty or open, it was not. And finally any paper that went through the thing became jammed, wasted at least a dozen perfectly good sheets of paper. Ive never had a piece of tech fail so badly, I will never by HP again. A low budget product should still work.Mari

What a steaming pile of you know what. They sell you a printer without a USB cable, and this model also does not have an ethernet port to use it over ethernet. They make you use their Windows 10 app to configure it over wifi, but you can't configure it over wifi without first connecting it with USB (they didn't include the cable). You can't connect it to your router despite being offered an ethernet option in the app because this model doesn't have an ethernet port. Since I had a spare USB cable, I got it setup, however the Windows app auto updates (you can't opt out) and it ruined the connection to my printer. The app shows it connected to my network, my network shows it connected. I can play with the port and make the app show it connected and not connected, but Windows will not longer recognize it as on so it won't print at all even with "use in offline mode" checked. I'm trying toi reconfigure from scratch now and it doesn't want to cooperate. This printer is a cumbersome pain in the rear. Would not recommend at all.Ryan

it is a great price with great functions for the money – key point – for the money. It is well worth the price for what you get. I have been using home printers since 1983 .. It states "wireless" computer so you do not get the USB printer plug with the square metal insert to make it run directly from your computer. I had one from my previous computer and used it as wireless takes too long and has soo many hiccups. The paper holder on mine is a little funky…a little offset but perhaps it fits paper from China perfectly…it still works, I just have to insert a little off mark. It did not give an invoice list of items in the package so it took me awhile to figure out why I didn't have a usb to printer cord…ie it is wireless. So overall, it works just as well as my D110 and is well worth the money. It arrived at my door the SAME DAY I ordered it which was great as I needed to print something for the car and my D110 printhead had gone bad. I like it and give it a 4 because of lack of a sturdy paper holder and you kind of have to know already about installing a printer to know that you are doing this one correctly as instructions are not that great. kjOnlineShopaLot2021kj

I bought this printer for school because a couple teachers need us to print things for some reason. It’s a really cool printer and it doesn’t take up too much space. I don’t print that much only for the occasional forms or pictures so I don’t know how much of a load it can handle but it prints just like a normal printer I guess. It doesn’t scan documents but I don’t need that feature anyway. It’s very easy to set up, putting in the ink was the hardest part because in slow. Keep in mind that your not only investing in a printer but also ink so I would suggest signing up for the instant ink. Ink itself is very expensive but the starting rate for instant ink is $5 a month with two months free. Great for studentsBRANLY

Pros: I like the size of the printer and the neatness ie only one cable and cover streamlines it even further. Print quality is good – when it prints!! Cons: Pain having to manually do the back to back but not the end of the world. Worst part is that it constantly loses connectivity and shows message 'printer offline'. Because it's cable free you cannot connect to either the router or the pc/laptop to try and reconnect. Done the reinstall HP Smart app, unplug printer, unplug router, power down laptop. Reconnect x12. First few times (yes few – I've only had it around 1 month) it eventually came back on but haven't been able to connect for the last 2 days – very, very VERY frustrating!!SHEENA

The Printer looks sleek and well designed and was really light. I could see this being placed anywhere in the house so decided rather than put it in the office to try it in the living room as I liked the looks, it fitted in well (When Closed) but then as I got to setup it started to go badly. The setup process was just painful for something by such a big brand and with a premium price tag attached. At this price point you actually don't get a lot for your money. No Ports, No Scanner, No Double-Sided Printing, the App is generic and awful, Setup is poor, the Assistant connection is difficult and not mentioned in the setup at all. The setup at no time asked you to insert paper or Ink, it didn't set up for an assistant, it didn't feel smooth and easy to do. So the printer itself looks nice when closed, it looks sleek, the LED at the front is a nice touch and is a geek magnet. Sadly you can't keep the printer closed as you need to load paper, and one of the selling features is print from anywhere 24/7, to do this you need paper loaded and this takes away from the looks. The Print quality is fairly good and for day to day printing. Photos were good but the colours weren't as accurate as I was expecting with some of the greens being more of a yellow colour. The letdowns are the App and the fact HP has tried to make it Smart for the sake of it. These problems HP are solving never existed in the first place. I was very disappointed with this and at this price point expected it to be fine-tuned and a smooth easy setup with some easy to use features that would allow more people to get a smart home device. Sadly it doesn't do this and requires more tech knowledge than is sensible. HP have solutions with this printer to problems that don't even exist. The only good part was the fact I can print from literally every device easily and quickly, but that is all. Well, just got off the phone with HP tech support. Their system shows that my coverage expired 9/4/22. I used this from time to time when I needed to print; not on a daily basis. I had unplugged because I moved my office area. Two weeks later I attempted to print some papers; and it didn’t turn on like it usually does. I haven’t had it for more than a year and it’s not working. Paying $200+ got me this non-working printer. It was well cared for and hardly used for the purpose it was made for. I purchased it because you could tuck it away in plan site and not have a dinosaur printer visible to your eye when you walk past your office area. Now I’m going printer shopping. Never will I purchase a this brand of printer again.D Cha

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. The HP Tango is a seriously impressive machine. Designed from the ground up for the mobile generation, the Tango is unlike any printer I have ever seen. From the outset you can see HP have taken a new direction; the packaging ditches the old black HP packaging for a bright white box with bold prints. First impressions? Wow, this looks amazing, are you sure it's a printer? Wait until you plug it in, the Edge Light Display is amazing. The design is a clear break from the usual HP look, this is a high-end premium design, not something you'd want to hide away like most printers. HP have been bold with their decisions, opting not to include a screen or any physical wired connections – this is a truly minimalist design and it works beautifully. The finer details have been well thought through – the way the paper tray swings out is really satisfying, as is the spring-loaded cartridge door. The whole thing looks completely buttonless until illuminated buttons appear from nowhere when needed. The setup is equally inspired. Relevant areas of the printer illuminate to guide you through the app-based setup. Within minutes I was up and running and I haven't suffered any connections problems to date. The print quality is great, and the speed is fine for home office use. The printer ships with a colour and black cartridge, as well as the usual Instant Ink option (plus unlimited photo printing from mobile – exclusive to Tango). The Instant Ink scheme is a good option if you print regularly, but it's disappointing to see HP continue with their policy of forcing you to use HP inks only. The HP Tango is a fantastic printer, not because it has endless bells and whistles, but because it doesn't. It's a printer, it works reliably, and it looks fantastic.stusharps

The most user unfriendly and complicated cheap no I have ever owned. Not like your old regular wifi printer where you pull up your document and click "print", no no, can't have that. I have to go through the entire setup routine every time I need to print one page and it never works. It takes an hour or more each time to fool around with it to get it setup, connected to wifi, it won't connect, says offline, won't show up on my laptop or cell phone, not found, etc… (even though I have set it up probably at least 30 times now). The instructions are horrible – you have to use the HP app or press buttons on the device to get it print instructions out every time you need to print a page. I cannot find a USB port on mine, so there is no way to hook your laptop up to it physically to print anything. I don't have the time or patience for it – I usually give up and print out on my spouses wifi printer (a Canon that actually works). The most user unfriendly and complicated device I have ever owned and that's saying something. It shouldn't be this difficult to print a page now and then. Wish I hadn't wasted my $. It's new and now I'm shopping for another printer yet again. Who in the h___ at HP thought this was a good idea? Now I'm so turned off to HP printers that I won't buy another one. This is a great product. I absolutely love how slender and sleek it looks immediately out of the box. I feel like the white color makes it very modern and updated, and it easily fits into a desk drawer which is great because it was always having a printer out in public to see that I really disliked. I am able to hide this away and open a drawer whenever I need to use it. The directions were pretty straightforward and it was simple to set up. The quality of printing is excellent. The photos print with very good resolution and there are no smudges, lines, or ink residue on the paper. My old HP printer would constantly have this issue. It prints very quickly and does not have a lag from turning on which my old printer also experienced so I do not have to sit around and wait for it to queue itself up. I also noticed that the sound of the printer is very quiet which is a nice bonus. The downside is that you cannot fill it with much paper so I am refilling the paper tray more than I did before but it also has allowed me to keep track of my paper usage better and ensure that I have extra paper in stock due to the constant refilling. This was a great product to be able to try out and I would absolutely recommend it to others.Vicky

I've been working from home for over 2 years which means having a printer I can rely is more important than ever. I am pleased to say I definitely have that and more with the HP Envy 6055e. The white and gray colors make it look and feel modern. It's reasonably lightweight and has rubber grips on the feet so it doesn't scratch furniture. The setup literally took less than 5 minutes thanks to the intuitive HP Smart app on my phone and/or computer. It quickly and easily walked me through every step and since it automatically detected my network, I didn't even have to enter my WiFi password! The printer uses lights to communicate action, issues, etc. so during setup, certain lights turned orange so I knew exactly what was needed from me and where. It's not the quietest printer I've ever used but that doesn't pose an issue for me as the "payoff" is that it prints pretty fast even with double-sided documents. Quiet Mode can be enabled via the app but it only works for certain types of documents and it slows down the print speed. The only thing I miss is a touchscreen display. Perhaps that's an antiquated preference as everything I can possibly need in terms of settings is easily accessible on the app but sometimes I like the simplicity of pushing a button directly on the machine. One other minor critique, there's an LED light that illuminates the area where the print jobs land and if it's possible to turn that off, I am clueless. It's extremely bright at night and doesn't add any value as I never print in the dark.Brgs2012

I'm not a fan of the newer printers that rely solely on software from the computer to work. Half the time the printer is "offline" and it's super annoying to have to launch a separate computer app to get it to sync back up since it has no way to do so from the printer itself nor can you identify the status of the printer from the printer itself, everything has to be done from an app on your computer. I would stick to a more traditional printer where you can access things from the printer itself. Let's talk ink. The instant ink program is worth every penny. I've been using it for a few years now and when I bought this printer it shipped with a starter ink set. I blew through that in 10 pages. I bought 2 more sets of ink and each time I got about 50 pages before it was empty. (I had to buy cartridges as the Instant Ink shipment takes 10 days to show up and I had stuff I needed printed) The Instant Ink cartridges are way bigger and have at least 6-8x more ink in them. It's like everything else in the computer world, they are forcing you into a subscription model. But with that said, at least at this point in time that subscription is very affordable compared to ink cartridge costs. Print quality for this printer is very poor also, and forget photos with this printer, almost unusable. I'm keeping it as a backup printer at this point.Chris
