I really love this shaver. After watching many positive review videos and my old shaver died, I bought this and am really impressed. You can shave with or without shaving gel/cream. The shaver gets close but not as close as other shavers, however it is more than close enough for a professional work environment. This is the second OneBlade I have owned. As a stand alone, this is a good trimmer, especially for shorter length trimming. I like most of the new design, especially that the handle is slimmer with a better grip. However when compared to the last model, it falls short in allowable max trimming length and ease of adjustment. The reason is due to the rotating blade head. This new feature is not bad to have, though with the narrow blade, I've never felt the need for it. The rotation doesnt allow for a cap like the previous model, which had a simple dial to adjust length, all the way up to 9. This blade has an attachment which you need to rotate with your thumb. It's not the smoothest or easiest operation. It goes up to 5mm, which isn't bad for a face trimmer, but less than the previous. Overall, this is a solid trimmer which will get the job done well. I dont feel the blade rotation is better than an easier and longer guard adjustment.Jeremy O
This shaver is very impressive. I charged it for a couple hours and decided to give it a go on my 4 day stubble. It's worked like a dream, gives a very close shave almost as close at a razor, I was so impressed. I judge my razors based on how well i can get nice clean lines on my goatee and sideburns and this passed both tests! My goatee looks great and my sideburn lines are crisp and clean. I had one similar to this two years ago and loved it so I had to get another! It grabbed those stubbles in private areas that a regular razor can’t! By far the worst electric razor I’ve ever used (and I’ve been through several!). You think the pencil-thin $8.50 bikini / fine hair trimmer is rough? Wait until you get yanked, tugged, and scraped by this monstrosity while still keeping 75% of the hair you go over. Waste of money and will be going straight in the trash. I got this originally for my daughter, but she said it hurt. So, I started using it. It gets most of the job done, but doesn’t get everything or a close shave. This is a “crap, gotta do something about this forest, I guess” kind of razor. Also, it doesn’t hurt my old, weathered legs. My kiddo has really sensitive skin, so if buying for a youth, make sure they aren’t too aggressive with their use. I may have demonstrated incorrectly.
I have had my electric shaver for over a year now, and dang, is it durable!! This electric shaver, is built to last! I've dropped it onto hard flooring, I've thrown it, and it didn't crack or break or dent AT ALL. There's been some instances where my shaver was dropped (hard) onto wood flooring, hard enough that it should have ended up in pieces, unusable, but has performed consistently up until now. Unfortunately, with all the use it's seen, it's just now getting to the point of needing to be replaced, but it's still working. In a world full of cheaply made crap from China, Phillips is crafting their products to the good ol' USA standards for durability and consistent performance. Would DEFINITELY recommend!! This electric razor is garbage and not worth the money. It worked okay at first but never gave a very close shave and even without the guard. It also nicked me at least twice. I had it for about 5 months when I tried to charge it for the third or fourth time since purchasing it and it just didn’t work anymore. I am one of those women that shave every day to keep my legs smooth. I was offered the Remington Smooth Glide rechargeable shaver to try in exchange for my honest review and was very excited to test it out. I love the fact that this shaver can be used dry or in the shower with shaving cream and that it comes with an edger and trimmer to help cut down longer hair so that the shaver can get a closer cut. The first time I tried using this shaver, I tried it in the shower with shaving cream. As I mentioned before, I shave daily, so I didn't have long hair, just some stubble. I found it a little difficult at first to get it to cut the stubble and make my legs feel smooth. I had to do several passes over different areas of my legs to get it to finally feel smooth but since I was just getting used to using it, I chalked it up to needing more practice. It seemed that the shaver wasn't able to get close enough to my skin to cut the stubble due to the cream so I tried again later with it on dry skin. The shaver easily glides over the bumps and grooves and doesn't feel like it is pulling the hair. I didn't get any type of razor burn or irritation when using it dry. While it can take a few tries to get the hair to cut close to the skin, in the end, I had a smooth shave. The shaver also worked very well with my underarms. The charging stand offers a convenient way to store and charge the shaver so it is always ready for use. The charge also seems to last a long time. While I am still getting used to how hard I need to press down and how to angle the shaver to get a close shave, each time I use it my shave gets better. I had been using a men's razor with triple rotating heads. It missed so much hair I had to go over the same spot multiple times. This razor is very efficient. Once or twice over a spot and my legs are smooth. It's easy to hang onto. I'm very happy I chose this razor. I have not tried it in the shower yet, but dry shaving has been so easy! I guess you get what you pay for since this was only $30. It BARELY cuts any hair. It’s taken several (like a lot) of passes to even get the small, 2 day old stubble out of my underarms. Even cut a skin tag/mole in the process. The bikini trimmer attachment is useless also. This is my first electric razor. It's easy to charge and set up to use. It's definitely better than scissors and faster than a razor. That said, the head is rather thick so it's hard to get into nooks and crannies. Also, if the hair is longer, the razor doesn't get it as easily so you miss a lot of spots and have to go back over. My best results have just been with trimming or with doing a pre-shave or clip. The best function is the battery life, which lasts a surprisingly long time. Overall, not bad for a simple affordable option. And it's pink!savvy

I was provided the opportunity to test the Philips SatinShave Prestige BRL170/50 premium electric shaving unit. This specific product came neatly packaged, and included the main razor/base, in addition to 4 accessories (a convenient travel cap, a bikini trimming tool/head, an efficiency cap, and a pearl trimmer with safety bar). The SatinShave also came with a small carrying case, and a charging cable. The system took approximately 60 minutes to charge fully, and also featured a 5-minute quick charge option for convenience (if you're in need of a single shave). I found that the unit held power throughout a lengthy shave (multiple areas) consistently. Lights indicating low battery life, full battery life and charging mode were displayed clearly on the main unit. I utilized Philips SatinShave on three areas of my body: my legs, my underarms and my bikini area. The unit itself was easy to hold, and its ergonomic handle shape felt natural, comfortable and light in the hand. This shaver boasts the capability to be utilized for shaving in both wet and dry conditions. I found the shaving conditions to make minimal difference in the units overall shaving performance. The Philips SatinShave removed hair most successfully from my bikini area. The efficiency cap helped to pull my skin taut, and the bikini trimmer accessory enabled me to get a close, smooth shave; even over my typically-sensitive skin. The performance of the Philips SatinShave unit was underwhelming in regard to underarm hair removal. I found it difficult to manipulate the unit under the arm successfully (due to shape of anatomy), in order to achieve/maintain close contact between the foil head and the hair/skin. The Philips SatinShave worked average for leg hair removal. Although the shaver glided over the leg smoothly, the unit did leave residual, coarse stubble, behind on the legs. I found the SatinShave to require more than one pass over areas of the leg (especially the knee) in order to achieve maximum smoothness. In general, I do not feel that the razor surpassed the smoothing effects of waxing or a traditional razor. I also did not feel the electric razor was a time-saver in comparison to a traditional shave. However, Philips SatinShave razor did work to remove hair well in the bikini area and on the legs with minimal irritation, despite having sensitive skin. The SatinShave is also a great on-the-go shaving tool for times when you may miss a spot shaving. It is a great shaver unit to travel with, and I was impressed with the shavers cordless capability, comfortable handle, trimming tools/accessories, actual power and battery-life. I have two complaints about this product – 1) the position of the on/off and speed buttons means I'm constantly turning the razor off when I'm trying to shave. They are placed where one would normally grip the razor. 2) the plastic head protector breaks easily. The grips that hold it in place aren't robust. Your customer service department were very quick in replacing the plastic cover under warranty. The actual razor itself delivers a good shave. This is my third razor purchased from Philips.PHFE
Seeing as I haven't used an electric razor in almost 30 years due to severe irritation after shaving, I was very pleasantly surprised, there was no irritation after shaving at all, with the added bonus of no chance of nicks and cuts. The cut is extremely good it doesn't pull the hairs out like the one I used so many years ago. Its such a good shave that I even use it to shave my head and not just my face instead using of my normal fixed blade razor. The best feature for me is the ability to be able to use it wet (my preferred method) in the shower. I have yet to have full shave with the razor dry, but the spots I missed in the first few shaves That I 'touched up' dry while getting used to the razor showed no irritation at all. I also find it a bit quicker than my normal razor as well, I would estimate at least 5 minutes quicker per full head and face shave. The result is comparable to my normal wet razor except in a couple of areas mainly the underside / point of my chin, its not visibly noticeable but I can feel it when running my hand over those areas, but this may be just experience related. I have also noticed that I use less shaving soap than I did before so it will save me some money in the long term. I would like to see what the shave is like in 6 months and whether I have to replace the cutting heads more often than the estimated 2 years as I am using it for a longer shave than it is really designed for each time I use it. The other thing I have noticed is it is so quiet when in use even when cutting several days’ growth. I was pleased at the fact it came well packed in attractive OEM packaging with its own travel case, the only thing I would suggest is perhaps a little additional space inside the travel case to accommodate the charging cable. Other than that it was easy to use, easy to clean with fast charging time and plenty of shaving time. The pictorial instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. It took a little while to get used to a different speed of shaving and the fact I had to use circular motions for the best shave, but now I wouldn't be without it. Even my girlfriend has noticed how good a shave it is, I didn't tell her I has switched from fixed blade wet shave to electric and she didn't notice the difference. I was pleasantly surprised how well this works, having given up on electric shavers decades ago. It shaves relatively close when I've used it dry, and conforms to the body shape. I haven't yet used it wet. It happens that the charger doesn't fit well in my bathroom – the outlet is under the medicine cabinet, and the razor has to angle out when the charger is plugged in, so this will work better where the razor can stand tall in the outlet.gorgesblonde
I thought this would be an upgrade from a cheaper electric trimmer I was using, but it kept pinching and hurt a lot. It left uneven patches, even on lighter areas despite going over the areas multiple times. Debris builds up underneath the popup trimmer too. It took longer than using a regular cheap razor due to the uneven patches, so this does not seem worth it.Sunshine

The product pictured and described on the Ulta app is The item pictured / described on the Ulta App is not the same item I received. The shaver came earlier today. It has ONE shaving head not two. There is NO charging base, only a plug in wall charger. When I called customer service they could not tell me if the replacement item they are sending will actually be the two head shaver with a charging base. ((Why?!?)) Bought for in store pick-up. I was provided a completely different razor that does not come with a base. The color around the button is solid pink and not white. And it has a dofferent head. All other stores sell that version along with the one advertised here. The employee berated my husband telling him he does not know anything that this is the new and improved model she provided us in our order. That it does not matter that it does not come with a base or that the head only has a single blade. Tried to shove a razor that elsewhere sells down my hsubands throat for $10 that does not match the product they list here (elsewhwre also sells this razor and it is the same price). This electric razor is really good at removing hair. To me, I feel that it’s a lot safer than using a traditional blade razor because it limits the amount of nicks and cuts you get. I had never used an electric shaver before, and was told that it was the best method to avoid razor burn and bumps, so I bought this one. I thought it had nice packaging, and appeared to be of decent quality without being ridiculously expensive so I chose this one. I tried it out on my legs first, you have the choice to either wet or dry shave, so I tried it dry first, and nothing really happened. I guess it took a little of the hair off, but not enough to be anywhere near satisfactory. So I lathered up with some shaving cream and water and tried again. This time went a little better, and although it didn't shave as close as I would have liked it to, it got the job done okay. Cleaning it is a nightmare though, it is near impossible to get all the hair out of the head and out from in between the head and the socket it goes in to. And you need to clean it out quite frequently, I had to twice just to finish my legs, and they weren't really very hairy to start with. It did pinch me once also well, but that may have been because I was holding it at in improper angle, as I was just learning to use one. All in all, for the price I can't really complain, but if i had it to do over again, I would probably choose to invest a little more money into a better shaver.michaela.d

When I was introduced to shaving, I tried my Dad's Sunbeam, Remington foil and a DE analog. I ended up doing the DE and got tired of nicks and cuts and skin irritation. in 1972, I started an almost 50 year relationship with Norelco "rotary" products. I went as high as $200+ in that line and it seems they have plateaued as far as technology advances are concerned. I was fed up with the poor quality of replacement blades available today, so I began a search for a replacement shaver. After reading numerous reviews, mostly pro, I decided to give the Arc5 a shot. All I can say is if you find yourself in my spot, do not hesitate. Get this shaver with the cleaning/charging unit, STAT! PROS: The closest shave I've gotten, next to a razor, EVER. Did NOT irritate my skin (I have sensitive skin) Larger head > shorter shave time Flex head follows your facial contours (jaw line, neck, etc.) Beard "sensor" adjusts to your beard's current length. Trimmer does a good job. Shaver has a "built-in" cleaning function, which you can use if you're travelling, or in between "tank" cleanings. Head size and shaving method delivers a faster shave. The cleaning/charging base has a "Dry/charge" function. CONS: Price of replacement heads and cleaning solution concentrate. I got this in anticipation of my upcoming birthday (thank you, honey!) and read the manual. I HAD to check the unit out, so I put some pre-shave lotion on and charged the shaver. Some people complain about the size of the shaver. It really is comparable to the Norelco I was using, but the shape of the head is what speeds your shave along. (It covers more territory). Since there is usually a break-in time for new shaving methods, I expect my shaves to improve over the next week. I used primarily an up and down motion on my face, then I changed direction and orientation on my chin and neck. One complaint I avoided is on my upper lip I have a moustache, so I didn't have a problem with trying to get a close shave there. After finishing and evaluating the shave quality, I took the head off, and rinsed it and the shaver under the tap. Then, I wiped excess water off both and reassembled the unit and dropped it into the cleaning/charging base and put it on dry. I haven't used the cleaning function of the tank yet, but will update my review after I've done so. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this razor. after a month using every other day I havent experienced any of the negatives I read about. I use it on my head and neck below my beard. I found if I use it every other day or 3rd day on my head it shaves easy and as smooth as a razor. Like all electric razors it does not do well with long hair. the only draw back i have is the razor head is large. Which helps speed up the process doing my whole head but little difficult around the top of my ear to sideburn section. I still think its best razor I have ever used in 20 years though. The charging/cleaning station is so nice. Yea it can be a little loud on the cleaning portion but its the razor turning on and off so what's the difference when you use it? Travel case and option to still sharge it with just the cord is well thought out. Mean I dont have to lug the station with me when I go away for a week. But after 20 use Im still at 80 to 85 percent So i likely wouldnt need to charge it anyway.Abult
I was very hesitant to try an electric razor, considering my beard is full and thick and grows quickly. I had been using a DE razor and wet shaving for the last few years. It shaves close and quickly. It allows me to shave daily or go 3 days and handles both situations with comfort. This was my first time using an electric shaver and I'm sorry I hadn't tried it sooner. Gone are the days of shaving cream. This method has proven effective and provides more precision than I anticipated. While I typically forgo the instructions and wing it, I did not find the device intuitive and referenced the manual for guidance. There is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of the process, it's easy to operate, alternate accessories and clean. I love that the set includes everything needed from an exfoliating glove for preparation to a brush for cleaning the appliance to a pouch to store the shaver and its accompaniments. The item arrived really quickly and in a nice red box. Inside the box is the shaver itself, a USB charger cable, instructions and a mini cleaning brush. This was my first delve into using an electric shaver but it was really easy to setup. It is really easy to use and didn’t nick or irritate my skin at all which I was worried about as I normally have dry and sensitive skin. It also comes with a guard that you attach to the head of the shaver which you may need for some parts of the body if you don’t want it completely without hair. The design of the shaver is pretty good too. Its predominately white and is easy to hold and fits nicely in my palm. Really love that its waterproof too so you can use it in the shower too. Pros love that it is rechargeable so no need for an endless supply of batteries and the charge seems to last a long time. Pros – Excellent razor. Closest shave I have ever had. Fast and easy shave due to excellent blades. Cons – Requires a bit of maintenance. You need to run the “cleaning program” every day (personally I do it every other day). Some water and a cleaning solution shoots up into the case and cleans the razor once activated (1 pack of solution is provided for one month – available on Amazon sold as a pack for a reasonable price). This seemed like a bit of a pain at first, especially changing the solution every month, but the razor looks brand new and is working like it was just out of box many months later, so I think it’s worth it. Note – the first ten minutes of the cleaning process are VERY NOISY. The last 60 or so of the drying process aren’t too bad. Don’t expect to clean this razor before you head off to work if your partner is within 25 yards. It’s like waking up to someone vacuuming your pillow.Kayak4

I have been using this shaver for 2 years now primarily for bald head shaving. I have also found it very useful for neck shaving since I have a heard. The pop up trimmer is very sharp and precise. I use the pop up trimmer just above my top lip to straighten out my beard. This pop up trimmer is my go-to for precise trimmer when I need it as it is sharper than my other beard trimmers. This trimmer is very powerful, long battery life and my favourite part is the cleaning station. All you have to do after a shave is use a brush to remove the hair from the cutting blades, then drop it in the cleaning station and walk away… Excellent. I had a problem with the cleaning station and I was near the 2 year exchange warranty. I highly recommend contacting panasonic directly for this. I contacted best buy and they maintained it's only a 1 year warranty. It is NOT, it's definitely a 2 year warranty. They just shipped me a brand new replacement unit. Awesome!!Anonymous

Adequate to Good, but not Great. I purchased this shaver instead of its lower priced sister because this one has the bikini attachment. For the extra $$$ I found the attachment to be useless. It has a few settings but none is low enough for a decent shave in bikini area. It is safe because of that as there is zero risk of cutting or hurting yourself. Having said that, I had no problem shaving the bikini area WITHOUT the attachment. I tested the unit with dry shaving and found The razor is easy to use. It worked very well on armpits and legs. I kind of wish I would have returned this to Amazon. At far as dry shaving goes, the will cut hair pretty close to the skin, so you don’t look as hairy. But if anyone feels your skin, they definitely won’t feel smooth skin. And if you have dark hair, you’re still going to see the dark hair follicles after using this. As far as the trim guard, all it’ll do is snag and pull at your hair. The pain isn’t worth it. I use my husband’s instead, which works almost flawlessly, so I shouldn’t have paid more for the [brand:panasonic] trim guard. As for the recharging of this unit, I can leave it on its charger for 24 hours and the light never turns green. I don’t think the unit is a good investment unless there isn’t much contrast between your skin and hair, or if you find yourself often needing to dry shave and get out the door in a pair of shorts very quickly.d.s

I have always been leary of buying an electric razor. However, over the past few years the cost of razor blades has skyrocketed and the quality of shave has deteriorated just as fast. I was tired of paying for razors that gave you a lousy shave. I was in the military and I know what a close shave is supposed to feel like. I took the plunge and purchased this razor. This razor has worked really well. The quality and closeness of shave is equal to anything I could get from a disposable razor. It takes a couple of weeks for your face to get used to shaving with an electric razor. It has been almost a month since I purchased the razor and I no longer feel any irritation at all. It is very easy to clean and the charge lasts for weeks. I will not back to using high priced low quality razors. I have long used cartridge razors, but no more. I’ll preface this with I have sensitive skin and prone to ingrown hairs & razor bumps. I used this in both my face and legs, and it’s the smoothest, least irritated my skin has ever been. I have never been as disappointed with a product as I was with this one. After all the glowing reviews and even some ratings calling it the best electric shaver ever made I took the plunge and switched from my Norelco. I have used for two weeks and the shaves are abysmal. Even after going over the same area 3-4 times there is still stubble left. Shaving the neck is even worse. It's the first time I am using a electric razor. I did a lot of research before buying this product. It's quite reasonable and does a good job at removing hand and underarms hair. If your hair growth is big and if your hair is thick then this won't be a good one. I tried using it on my legs and didn't do a good job. It could only remove those hair which were small. I used it about 3-4 times to remove 70% of my leg hair. You can't remove the finer hair and will have to use wax strips or use normal razor. But it's perfect for hands and underarms and even little bikini hair removal. The battery life is fantastic and can be used on both dry and wet skin.shreya.g

This was a really nice looking razor in the package…but once I got it opened and I realized what I had purchsed, I was mad (before I had even tried it I was disappointed). The razor itself had everything going for it, but it just didnt come together the way they planned or something. The first thing that I noticed after letting this charge ALL DAY…was that the thing was bogging down and dying on me half way through my first leg. It continues to disappoint as far as battery life and use time in between shaving. While it was going full speed though (which was not long) it did an alright job…nothing too great or impressive. I noticed that it left stubbal as well as did not feel good rubbing against the skin on my leg. The replacement blades for this cost almost three times as much as I paid for the razor. At that price…its way cheaper to buy disposables or a manual razor with replaceable cartridges…and if you are not big on shaving…Veet is always another option…bottom line, this is not a good razor. One thing I have notcied about ladies' razors in general…they just arent sharp enough (this one was no exception) If you are set on an electric razor, I would look in the mne's section. You will get a much better shave with less irritation and trouble…which this razor seems to provide plenty of all by itself. On the other hand, if you can deal with the things mentioned above…and you have some patience…it is a pretty cheap buy for an electric razor.kwlasvegas
I have had this razor for 6 years ,and to this day this razor still works wonderful. I have only had to replace the replacement piece once, and they say you need to change a lot more often. I use it dry or in the shower and works really good. I always keep in charged and ready to use anytime I need it. Light weight, nice grip and easy to use. It's easy on your skin and I have sensative skin and it doesn't irratate my legs. It is easy to clean and comes in it's own pouch with a cleaning brush to keep clean. Very easy to put back together, replacement piece for the razor part of itself pays for itself, for me at least because it seems to last longer then what they think it will. This is a great razor for any age and all skin types, I think the price of itself paid off. I would truly recommend this to anything even teens that are beginning to shave, it's wonderful because you don't have to worry about cuttying yourself like a normal razor does, at least I myself haven't cut myself using this Razor!NancyMitchell
This product was not one of my finer purchases. The first time i used this, I had a hard time actually getting the hair to come off. It did not actually shave my legs. It pulled the hairs and they got caught. After fiddling with it for awhile, I finally got half of my legs shaved and then I decided to call it quits. Then i tried to take off the top part to empty it and I couldn't get it to come off. It was pretty difficult to use. I would like to call this product an inconvenience. I would prefer to use a regular razor that is pretty literal and shaves the hair as it's supposed to. I would not reccommend buying this product. The worst part was the amount of money i spent on it and then i didn't really get any use out of it. It was money flushed down the toilet. I bought a $10 bikini trimmer at a bargain store about a decade ago. It became my absolute favorite HG trimmer that never failed me. I could literally have my whole area done in 5 minutes, and felt smooth as a baby's bum. No pain or dealing with the horrible after-shaving itchies/ingrowns. Good times. It finally died and since then, I've bought countless trimmers from cheap to expensive hoping to find one that matched up to that cheap trimmer but had no luck. I had such a bad experience with one that it nearly turned me off to these trimmers. It nicked and pulled hairs/skin and I became so scared to use it I just went to waxing which is not fun and a monthly expense I didn't want to afford. Finally took a chance on this one despite the mediocre reviews and I'm SO GLAD. this is it! If you're looking for something ten times better than shaving (no itching, ingrown hairs, etc) and something that is the next best thing to the smoothness of waxing, this is it. It's completely painless, you can apply a lot of pressure to really get the hairs at the base and it will never pull hair or nick skin. You can get into the hard-to-reach areas with ease.
