Best Women’S Facial Hair Removal Products (2024 Update)

Hello,
I am a big fan of hair removal creams and have used Nair to great effect for some time. Unfortunately I decided to try this product as it caught my eye and lured me with its fancy packaging and appealing price. I read the directions and proceeded to apply the product as instructed, waited the desired amount of time, which was halfway between the minimum and maximum limits, and used the cute little spatula to scrape off the cream. What came off was not my hair, but rather my beliefs that anything could be less effective than a dull razor, which I had to use because my legs were still covered in a layer of mangled hair and disappointment. Not only did this product fail to remove my hair, but it took almost the whole bottle to even cover my legs with one layer. This product was the biggest waste of my time, effort and money that I have ever encountered, but it all might just be worth it to write this review and warn the thousands, perhaps even millions of unsuspecting consumers that may be inclined to make the same mistake that I did when I decided to buy this terrible product.

I've been using this product for about a year. Before I would use Sally Hansen. It works. It does miss a few spots especially in the upper lip. I do find that the hair growths a little faster compared to Sally Hansen especially in the beginning, however, if you keep using it once a week for a year, the hair growth does slow down. It does not smell as strong as other hair removal creams. There is less time required for the hair removal. The tube is really easy to get the cream out of. I like the moisturizer it comes with. It does not burn my sensitive skin especially if you leave it on an extra 2 minutes compared to Sally Hansen where my face would be super red and inflammed. Make sure to moisturize often, Glee does dry you out a little more. Negatives: The plastic hair removal tool SUCKS! I used it twice could never get it to quite work. Just use a damp cloth, it is much faster and works so much better. You will see actual results with a damp cloth versus the plastic crap. For the price, the tubes are a bit small. You can probably get about 3-4 uses, so it's not the most budget friendly. Mentioned it above, it tends to miss certain areas especially areas you really want to get rid of (for me always the upper lip) and the hair does growth back faster than others so I'd suggest trying it out for a month and seeing how it works for you, but I still recommend.migonz1990

ok so I've only tried this once. Used it on legs and bikini area. Left on the minimum time, as instructed. Hopped in shower. And nothing. Nothing came off!. And the little scraper? Very rough edges-felt as though it was scratching my legs. So i wasnt actually able to use it, but i did use a wash cloth. I will try once more and leave on max time-will update if there are changes. *I really like the thickness of this product. Love that there isn't a harsh smell. So im really hoping 2nd try is a charm* But for now, I'll be using the nair shower since i know it works. Cant risk trying this again and it not working! Thy legs are hairyyyy.Mj

I have been using the Braun Mini Hair Remover regularly since I got it. I received it compliments of Pinchme. I was so excited to receive and it is something I would recommend everyone has. I have used it around some stray hairs around the eyebrow area. I find it takes seconds to use this and keep everything groomed. I'm more likely to use this than tweezers, since it's so easy. I was letting things go often before I had this. It's the size of lipstick. It has cap and cleaner brush. I wish it had a little pouch, but I can find one easy enough. I find the light on it more useful than I thought. I do recommend lightly pulling skin taught if it's a plump area so that you avoid any knicks…just as you would do with a nonmechanical razor.jessica_fl_7w6rv

So in love with my new Braun face mini hair remover. I've got the chance to use several hair remover devices for my face and body from this brand before this new one and I love all of them deeply. This mini facial hair remover is a lovely product.It gently shaves all the peach fuzz on my face and leave a smooth skin.It didn't hurt or make my skin red as it doesn't pull the hair like an epilator or twitzers would do. Every single hair could be seen,thanks to the built-in smartlight,so no spot is missing. After use,there's no mess on my clothes or in the sink as the hair stay inside,which later I can open to clean with the added little brush it came with. I received a free Braun Mini hair remover from PinchMe and I LOVE this product! I was a little worried that this wouldn't remove the small hair at first, but I turned it on, and moved it over my upper lip. I'm going to be honest – this product burned my face. I do have sensitive skin, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and this was just too much. It almost seemed like I had to cake the mixture on my face for it to even work. Sometimes it was very successful while other times, I was pretty disappointed. This is the best product for my skin and hair type. I have extremely dark hair and I have a fair complexion. I tried bleaching but it just turned my mustache into a blonde mustache. 😂 I’ve tried waxing but the skin on my face is way too sensitive for that. So this cream hair remover is what I use. There are two things that you need to do when using this product. One, spot test. I know most products say to spot test but it’s EXTREMELY important to do this so you know if you’re going to have a reaction and how long you should leave it on for. I literally JUST used mine and left it on for 30 seconds too long and I can feel my upper lip burning. And the second thing you need to do before using is check the expiration date. Once I did my normal routine and my face started burning so badly. I knew I didn’t leave it on too long so when I started checking around the bottle and packaging, I saw it was expired. It burned my face so badly that it actually scabbed! BUT if you follow the directions and check the date, it’s the best product I’ve been able to find to meet my needs. I would definitely recommend to others.brandy.r

This product is my weekly go-to. I have naturally very fine hair on my face and body. Due to the sensitive nature of my skin, I choose not to remove the hair due to breakouts, general itchiness, and the unappealing regrowth aesthetic. I bleach the “peach-fuzz” on my face once a week using this product and it delivers! The downside is that this has an itchy and burning sensation, but the workaround I’ve found is to lightly prep and moisturize the skin with coconut oil! The smell is still strong, but my skin doesn’t feel as irritated. I also find that the hair is bleached to a more blonde color, so when wearing foundation or other face products – the hair can turn a bit “brassy”, but overall this is the product that has worked the best for me for 10 years.dana.r

My concerns: sensitive skin,, serum delivery and facial massage. Overall note: Vibration is not very fast so not “ultrasonic” if you’re looking for that kind of massage device, but it is wonderful! I prefer that its a bit bouncy and its very easy to clean all the of heads. Epilator: I had a Braun epilator FOR YEARS so I suspect the quality of this epilator is very good and hopefully this will be the same. Never rusted and cleaned very easily. Serum massage head: bouncy and has a strange ‘stiff/not so stiff’ setting at the top, which I dont really understand. However its very easy to clean and does a great job of delivering with its smaller head into the sides of my nose. Best with oil and moves with ease because the plate slightly bends across the curves of your face. Brush: not as fast as one would normally see in say the Clarisonic, but I dont use it for my face, just body brush and is gentle enough for that. Criticisms for improvement: The stand alone would have given it 4 stars because it is a ridiculous piece of plastic to keep the machine upright, but nothing else? I have to lay out a towel after washing the heads because the lid only fits over the epilator. Then I keep them all in the suede bag provided because its semi-rigid. Will probably use my own bag because drying takes a while. Would recommend for someone who does a medium amount (2-3x times a week, less than everyday) routine because I’m not sure how much the replacement of the brush will cost…but is a really good entry level skin care item that introduces you to many marketable skin care fads, and I’m sure I’ll find out through this, what is important to me.Neonyellowhighligher

Braun FaceSpa Pro 911 It is a very sleek and modern looking beauty tool and I love the Rose Gold detailing which make it look expensive and high quality. It is also very light and sits nicely in your hand. To review this product fully I feel you really need to break it down into the 3 different areas the product focuses on. The Epilator head – I was excited to try this as I had never used an epilator on my face before. After charging the device it was a bit daunting as a 1st timer to watch (and hear) the little epilator head spinning around and contemplate using this on your face however following the instructions in the handbook and stretching the skin it delivered really effective results. It was a little bit nippy to begin with but any redness died down within minutes and left me with a smooth upper lip. I also trialled the product on my stray eyebrow hairs and found it really quick and easy to use with brilliant results. The Cleansing Brush – Personally I was a little disappointed with this part of the spa. I had hoped it would deliver a deep clean and clear out any clogged pores or blackheads that I had but unfortunately the brush doesn’t work into my pores in this way. I also found the built in timer a bit annoying as it was never quite long enough to work on one area of my face and the brush stops rotating for a couple of seconds when the timer reaches the end before starting up again, good idea in theory but I would have liked to have been able to turn this function off. I also feel like I have used a LOT more of my cleansing product than I would have applying by hand as without product on the brush the bristles can feel a bit rough after a while if your skin is very dry (like mine). Overall it did work well to remove leftover makeup but didn’t deliver quite the results I was hoping for The MicroVibration Head – Again I think I had possibly put my expectation of what this would deliver on a pedestal before actually trying the product but I was very disappointed. On a positive, the head felt nice and cool on first touch against your skin and then almost delivers a slight warming feel when using it. The microvibration is a nice sensation on cheeks but (onto the negatives) felt a bit like a drill against boney areas such as my forehead, cheekbones and chin! The timer function also comes into play with this head and is again rather annoying as I would prefer a smooth constant movement from one area to another rather than a disjointed gap, it is also quite noisy when vibrating which takes away from the relaxing spa feel it should create. I was using more product again than usual too and after using the head still ending up using my fingertips to finish applying my cream as I felt a lot of my moisturiser was still sitting on my face and wasn’t rubbed in fully. To summarise, I think the product is a great idea in theory but has a lot of downsides. It looks great but in my opinion it is overpriced for what it actually delivers and I feel the only part I will use regularly is the epilator head. All in all, a very expensive epilator.Nicole2107

I was really excited to try this out, I have at times very fuzzy peach hair, some days it’s not noticeable and other days it’ll catch the light and I’ll stare in horror and wonder if people see that all the time! I decided to try out the brush head first using a face wash with it, it was so so relaxing and my skin felt so much cleaner than any previous methods I’ve tried. I always find my forehead needs more attention than the rest of my face but I usually end up scrubbing it raw trying to exfoliate it. But the brush is the PERFECT amount of rough vs soft, my skin didn’t sting at all after using it and it’s the softest it’s ever felt. Without a doubt my favourite attachment for the FacePro that I’ll use every day! The epilator head for the FacePro works just as you’d expect, it’s feels scary and unnatural putting it on your skin at first but I quickly got used to the sensation! And my face is finally hair free in the right places! I also used this to shape and define my eyebrow, works wonders. I decided to use the microvibrating head last to apply some moisterier after exfoliating, at first it didn’t seem to do much, and I only really felt it ‘massaging’ on my cheek bones? But once I had finished applying the moisterier I could feel it had definitely helped to even my skin tone and brought some colour to my face whilst evenly distributing my moisterier. The only downside is although the FacePro doesn’t have a lot of buttons it wasn’t very clear how to use it from the instructions. The difference between the normal and ‘turbo’ mode was very subtle too so figuring out what setting it was on was confusing at times! Though I did discover it has a handy ‘lock’ setting so you can put it in your bag for travel safely without worrying about it accidentally turning on. Thoughtful plus! It comes with a little pouch for the attachments and a cute circle stand. I love the rose gold/copper colour and this would make a lovely gift to a mother, sister, friend etc. It’s so convienent having multiple features on one device and definitely feels like a luxurious ‘spa evening’ whenever I do my skin care routine now. Whenever I travel, I always have this on the go. I use this about once a week or once every other week and it's amazing. I was getting discoloration from constant threading, and this saved it! Love how discreet this is, so it's not like I'm pulling out a razor to shave off my upper lip lol. Love how quick it takes out the hair. Only thing I hate is the cleanup. I found this fairly easy to use. It is a little frustrating however if you are after a particular stray hair and just cannot seem to grip it! I want to see what the long term effects will be – hopefully slower and finer regrowth.Hilsarealive

I've got to that age when I get the occasional hair sprouting out of my chin and I can't always see them, this is great, I just run it around my chin and top lip and it catches any stray hairs and pulls them out at the roots, not cuts them. I have very fine light blonde hair on my upper lip and chin. I've found that over the last few years (I just turned 30), it looks a bit thicker and longer than it was in my youth– and I've started looking into ways to remove it as it is unsightly in the sun/selfies. I've tried waxing but it always left me with irritation. I also just started using a retinol so waxing is no longer an option. Tweezing would take forever, and going for threading at a salon is not an option during a pandemic. I was skeptical of this tool based on the very mixed reviews but I decided to give it a try and use the advice some of the reviewers left. I'm very pleased with the results and so far have not had any irritation! So here is what worked for me: -At first it did not work. But that was because I was a dummy and didn't clean my face first (moisturizer is not your friend in this circumstance). I used a baby wipe to wipe down my chin/lip and let it dry… and THEN it worked. I also kept the baby wipe on hand and wiped down the area as I went, and wiped the tool too to keep it clean and grippy. SO– use it on CLEAN skin with NO product. -It worked for me both in the direction of hair growth AND opposite hair growth, but was MORE effective when I held it upside down in a U shape and went UP on my face so it was pulling the hairs opposite the hair growth– and this manoeuvre felt similar to threading. -It did seem to break some of the very fine/shorter hairs, but for the most part it removed the longer hairs from the root. It did not remove ALL the hairs, but removed enough that it does not show up in close up selfies, and honestly looks more natural than waxing because there are still SOME teeny tiny hairs. -Once I got the hang of how to use it, it only took about 5 min to do my entire lip and chin. I found it was more effective the quicker I went, and was less painful than tweezing/waxing! I kept my slanted tweezers handy and ended up plucking a few stray hairs but it was QUICK!kaffeinejunkie

Turning the ARROWS simplified: with the Tweezerman LOGO FACING YOU; the handles must be turned INWARDS ( towards the center between the two handle ends) If the BLANK SIDE is FACING UP, the handles must be turned OUTWARDS (away from the center). One cannot just randomly pick up the remover and start turning because on one side the arrows face one direction and on the flip side the arrows face the opposite direction. Verify this for yourself! I couldn't figure out why one time it would work and the next it wouldn't – arrow turning directionality is the answer. Also, alternately turning of the handles works better than trying to turn them simultaneously. Use longer, non-curved side-bar for cheeks, chin, under-chin and forehead. I go two directions: firstly with the side-bar perpendicular to the ground, then again with it parallel to the ground. Using this cross cut method makes sure the job gets done. Thanks to this simple, handy hair remover I no longer waste money on threading my lip or face and find this technique with a coil more effective too. Yes there is a learning curve and anyone who says it doesn't work has not used it properly. Yes, the process is somewhat painful at first but as the hair is removed it becomes proportionally tolerable and indicates the area is done. This leaves the skin naturally hair-free looking versus the harsh lines waxing leaves behind. I purchased in 2018 and choose Tweezerman over cheap alternatives available from a major online 3rd party seller. At first, I definitely didn't listen to the directions and I left it on too long, practically burning my face. So I had to walk around looking like I had a "backwards Santa beard" on. I learned to not leave it on as long, but over time it's like my skin/hair has gotten used to this formula. For awhile I went through a phase where I waxed, but then the wax I used to became discontinued so back this I went. I use this once a week and still have to use tweezers every day for strays. Hopefully your hair growth isnt as quick as a monkey, like mine, if so it's a fairly decent product as long as you don't leave it on too long or your skin isn't super sensitive.jennie.d

I’ve been using Nair’s face cream for several years now, and have never had a problem with its effectiveness. I would like to share a few tips and observations, however, that I have learned over time to get the most out of the cream. 1) Very corse, thick hairs are too protein rich for this product to work on. I have a few of these, and have chosen to simply pluck them from the root whenever they sprout up. 2) I use this product once a week, before taking a shower, for two reasons. The first is that longer hairs are more receptive to the chemicals in the cream, and there is a better chance of longer hair burning down to skin level than short. The second, and I know this will be frowned upon by some, is because a hot shower right after opens the pores, which helps me remove any leftover hair or skin on my face. I will use a washcloth with warm water and gently exfoliate the areas I’ve naired while in the shower as well. 3) A generous amount of this cream needs to be used for it to work effectively. The instructions do say to slather a thick layer over the hair in question, and this holds true. Make sure that it is covered by this product well enough that you can’t see it through the cream. Skimping out on using significant dollops will stop all of the hair from burning away, and can leave behind unwanted patches. 4) The instructions say to leave the cream on for five minutes- in my case, because I have a lot of hair and it’s thicker than peach fuzz, I need to wait ten to twelve minutes for the best result. I can assure, this does not, at least for me, cause any discomfort, burning, or chemical rash. I set a timer, wait for it to ring, and gently wipe away the cream with a washcloth before heading into the shower. This has worked, tried and true, for years. I have used some form of Sally Hansen hair removal cream for probably 15-20 years. Sometimes packaging would change, but the product always worked great, until this one. I apply and leave on for the specified amount of time, and all it does is remove some of the length of the hairs. It does not remove all the way to the skin. Years ago I commented on how beautiful my daughter's kindergarten teacher's skin looked. She was in her 60's but her skin was radiant. She said that she has always used this Cream Hair Remover. She said "Models do it" – meaning they remove their facial hair. We are both blonde with relatively "invisible" facial/body hair. Struggled with PCOS for 25 years and only bleached unwanted hair on my face. Finally said done with the bleach and moved to full removal. Used Sally's bleach so logically I went with a product brand I've used. First application I followed instructions but let sit for 8 mins, came off great. Waited 24 hours, did application again, let set for 8 mins and everything left came right off. I applied a calming cream for chafed skin and I am very happy with the results. So I've bought two of these in the past year, (the flawless white, then the blue flawless pro) and now I'm having to potentially buy a third one because no matter how long I charge it, clean it, it just straightup stops working after a few months. It'll glitch a lot and then just stop working entirely. BUT the reason that irritates me so much is because when it's working it works great!! It is the best product I have found for my aggravating peach fuzz, as my skin is sensitive to anything else. You don't feel a thing, it really gets it all, you just have to be patient and sometimes go over a spot several times. But it will take care of all those annoying hairs eventually. My friend since pandemic. During pandemic when most salons were closed and that's when Flawless Hair became my friend. No pain no gain they say but this product is no pain but gain only. Perfect for facial hair and works like a champ. This is not an epilator so it doesn't hurt and gently removes your facial hair. I love that removes hair in a extremely gentle way. This works like a charm on my long, dark, thick arm hair. I know I shouldn't be so self-conscious abiout it, but it really makes a difference in my self-esteem when it is lightened. Be careful to measure carefully. If you use too much powder it may sting and itch a little bit. If it does, just use some body lotion after you rinse it off, and it will take care of it right away.Christine

I was wary of this product because of some reviews saying it doesn't work, but I'm so glad I bought this :') I have been growing a small patch of really thick, dark hairs under my chin/ jaw about the size of a quarter. I've tried plucking and shaving but it only makes them grow back ingrown. I finally decided to let the little whiskers grow out and I felt so ugly until I tried this kit! For some of the darker whiskers, it took about two bleaches before they fully lightened but this product does work!Katie

This is the best product for my skin and hair type. I have extremely dark hair and I have a fair complexion. I tried bleaching but it just turned my mustache into a blonde mustache. 😂 I’ve tried waxing but the skin on my face is way too sensitive for that. So this cream hair remover is what I use. There are two things that you need to do when using this product. One, spot test. I know most products say to spot test but it’s EXTREMELY important to do this so you know if you’re going to have a reaction and how long you should leave it on for. I literally JUST used mine and left it on for 30 seconds too long and I can feel my upper lip burning. And the second thing you need to do before using is check the expiration date. Once I did my normal routine and my face started burning so badly. I knew I didn’t leave it on too long so when I started checking around the bottle and packaging, I saw it was expired. It burned my face so badly that it actually scabbed! BUT if you follow the directions and check the date, it’s the best product I’ve been able to find to meet my needs. I would definitely recommend to others.brandy.r

This product is my weekly go-to. I have naturally very fine hair on my face and body. Due to the sensitive nature of my skin, I choose not to remove the hair due to breakouts, general itchiness, and the unappealing regrowth aesthetic. I bleach the “peach-fuzz” on my face once a week using this product and it delivers! The downside is that this has an itchy and burning sensation, but the workaround I’ve found is to lightly prep and moisturize the skin with coconut oil! The smell is still strong, but my skin doesn’t feel as irritated. I also find that the hair is bleached to a more blonde color, so when wearing foundation or other face products – the hair can turn a bit “brassy”, but overall this is the product that has worked the best for me for 10 years.dana.r

GiGi is great brand. I've always used (+10 years) their jar of wax, strip-free, and although a bit messy, I've learned to use it, almost hassle-free. I didn't care for this style of waxing…personal choice; however, I'd recommend others to at least try it. See if it works for them… It's a good price and was worth the experiment for me, anyway. But I'll stick with GiGi strip-free microwave wax!!zahc1900

So I am used to waxing my own eyebrows, however, because of a recent deployment, I was not able to bring my Gigi waxer along. I found these on amazon and decided to give them a try. They are for sensitive skin and worked great! I give them 4 stars only because I had to also tweeze my eyebrows a little bit more than usual and because you have to rub them to warm them up. I also had to cut them to get the right shape I was going for. But worked great and all the ladies (and some guys) wanted me to do theirs!yorleny.a

These are easy to use and work well for stubborn chin hair. The instructions are straighforward and I like that the kit also comes with lotion for you to wipe off any extra wax. It did take 5 passes to remove all the visible chin hair from one side of my face, and just one pass for the other side. So I can see that results may vary. I’ve only used this once. I’ve seen no skin irritation from the was or the lotion, which is great because I do have sensitive skin.Lizzy

This is part of my "holy grail" items. I have a condition which increases facial hair, so I'm constantly trying to groom my cheeks, chin, upper lip and neck so I don't have a beard. This little gizmo lets me self-groom without shelling a lot of money out for waxing/threading and without spending all my time in the bathroom staring at my face (honestly not staring at the mirror is a huge relief). It still hurts the same as waxing/threading, but at least you can do it while watching TV.saba.a

I bought this for my upper lip and chin hairs. Maybe it works for larger, flatter areas like legs (I haven't tried it for that yet) but it doesn't work on smaller, more rounded areas. The instructions say the light will remain constant when it's working properly but the light flashes on and off when I try to do my upper lip and chin. For me, this was a waste of money.AZSharon
