This was my first time trying the Gillette Venus Deluxe Smooth Swirl razor. The purple color and the design is pretty and I really like most of the features of this razor, such as, the five diamond like coated blades, they glide smoothly and comfortably over my skin, however, I didn't receive as close of a shave as I expected and I still have stubble by the end of the day. Although, I typically use a sensitive razor, I was pleasantly surprised with the activated 360 ribbon of moisture around the blades, it really does a great job with helping to protect against nicks and cuts, but it also tends to get sticky and stick to areas where placed. I didn't notice much difference with the flexiball, but the ergonomic soft gel handle was also comfortable and helped with control. All in all, it moisturizes well, has a great handle, but needs improvement with sharper blades for a closer shave and a protector cover for the blades when finished shaving.Blissfullydivine01
I have always used a Gillette Venus Smooth Swirl razor and it works really well. The blades are carefully placed to stop you from getting nicks and cuts and having five blades really helps to make sure you get the smoothest shave. The moisture ribbon is helpful if you run out of shaving gel and need a quick fix but does dry out after 2-3 uses. The flexiball isn't really that flexible in my opinion but since the blades are so carefully placed in alignment with one another, it doesn't usually cut you when shaving over the curves of your body. The only times I ever tend to get nicks is if I accidentally press too hard when going over my knee but this is very rare. Using this razor, I only have to shave 1-2 times a week and almost never get ingrown hairs. I think the price of a razor is quite high for what it is and how much the materials used to make it cost, but the handle lasts a long time and the blades last around a month for meEmiJ
Ok! So nothing was really bad about this razor, some people said the ball would make it uncontrollable but i thought it was helpful! Now I will admit, that the handle if it gets wet it was slippery, it didnt fall out of my hands but i thought it would have. Now i have been searching for my perfect razor and i dont think this is the best out there, but it did good! I looked nice and I liked that it came with multiple cartridges. Overall this was not a great product, it feels and acts like a cheap disposable razor. The moisture strip worked for two days and then it stopped working. The head of the razor feels boxy and awkward while shaving. The pivoting action of the head didn't have a great range of motion. I expected this to be higher quality than traditional disposable razor since it has cartridges but it really wasn't. Overall this was a very subpar disposable razor. While it did shave just fine its not something I would purchase or recommend because I don't like the shave disposable razors provide.
So I tried this product and honestly, compared to the other one I was using, which was Venus, it looked like it might not work as well or even as good as the other one I was using. The handle is plastic and has a lovely design of flowers but the Venus razor I have has a rubber grip on the handle which makes it easier to hold and this one doesn't, but even without a rubber grip, the way that the handle is designed makes it so that it fits comfortably in my hand. The razor itself has, I think, at least three blades and my Venus one actually has five, but even with less blades than my other one it still shaved all the hair in one stroke. My Venus razor also had like two or three lotion strips at the top and the bottom of the blades and I believe that this one only had one or two of those strips, and even with the less strips it was still just as smooth and soft on my skin. This BIC razor works beyond my expectations and I did prefer Venus brand prior to this sample product. After trying this one and comparing it to the one I used previously, I would recommend this BIC razor over the other one just because of the simple fact that this razor, after like twenty uses already, has not cut, sliced or damaged my skin, the blades have not rusted or chipped away as fast as the Venus brand has and it has a very smooth shave every single time. Because of those reasons and a few of my own preferences, I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a new and better razor. Also, shout out to the company for making the plastic lids slide off the side of the razor instead of having us lift the plastic lid and risk getting our fingers cut on the blades. I thought that the design of that was really important to the product as a whole. And thank you for the sample product !

I love love love this razor! After my favorite razor broke I’ve been on the hunt for a new one and so far this one is my favorite! The light alone makes this razor amazing and worth it as it helps me see everything I usually can’t! The cut is nice and keeps my legs smooth. For the people complaining about the " Knicks ", you literally get cuts from any razor. This is a trimmer, not a straight head. I have very thick dark hair and this thing is a godsend! So if first impressions were everything I would give this five *****. The box arrives cute and lush. It's pink, it's bold, it has tissue paper. It's so extra for a razor and I loved it. It is usb charge and charges fairly quickly. The size is great for travel, work, school, your purse, locker, overnight bag, or car. It's small and compact. I do wish it had a little carry bag for all the extra bits and cord. This is something I would keep in my car or at work for those after work emergencies. The number 1 recommendation would be for preteens. I ran it back and forth, up and down and every which way with no mercy and barely even got a white line of dry skin. I was really excited to try, actually has been a while that I have shave with razors. . The first impression was “looks pretty”, colors, the box well done. Love the idea of sustainability and reduce the plastic with bamboo, something natural, beautiful and light, super light! But as soon as I got to the razors the handle is super thin and it was shipped a little bit. . Even though the razors works really well on the skin, very smooth and because it’s super light it was very easy to handle and it was ok on the curves, it doesn’t shape much although it’s flexible still. When I was done I noticed that the hair was kinda hard to clean from the razors, I put under the water and try to take it out but there is no much space to the hair leave. While I definitely prefer my normal razor for day to day, this little guy is perfect for travel or just to have in your purse in case of emergency. It gets the job done is very convenient. I decided to get myself a Razor because I wanted to get a different one for myself than the ones I normally use. When I got this one the cartridge was in the container along with the razor I just had to attach the two of them. It was not easy to get the razor out of the small container it came in. So I had to click it into the cartridge stem. There is also a button on the stem to press forward when I decide to get a replacement for the razor. It also has 5 blades for a nice and close shave. Let’s be honest, this is my second time buying Venus razor with changeable blades. First time I had a plastic one (I think it was comfortglide) and I threw it away after one month or so, because I didn’t really like it, not the handle, not the blades. I use an epilator now but still use razor in between epilating, because I am ‘teaching’ my hair to grow at the same time. I decided to give this beautiful rose gold razor a try. I am giving these razors two stars because I feel bad giving anything just one star. Pro: they will remove hair from your legs. Con: it felt to me like shaving with a piece of glass. To be fair, I use Dove soap instead of shaving cream when I shave, which has always been enough with my Schick Quattro or Gilette Venus non-disposable razors. Unfortunately, definitely not the case with these Bic razors. I guess that I have been spoiled by flexible cartridges that move/adjust with the contours of my legs. My legs were covered with nicks and were so dry and beat up that I had to wait an extra day before shaving again (with my regular Schick razor) because I just couldn't face another round with the Bic. Also, the purported lavendar-infused handle did not smell like anything to me (and I tried valiantly several times to smell it to no avail). Overall, if you are OK with disposable two or three blade razors and shaving cream, these will probably be fine for you. If you are currently using something a little fancier, I would steer clear.
Lovely handle, Love that. But with my issue, all the work got out into the design of the handle. None of the work was put into the actual razor itself. Its nice they added a vitamin c touch. But its useless when the actual blade isnt really that good. This is a product for women, and our bodies curve. So naturally womens razors move, bend, to fit with our curvature. I have tried and tried to like these! I wanted them to be like the Venus so bad! I always get razor burn with these and for the burn I feel like the shave isn’t all those close my legs need to be shaved again the next day- I don’t shave them because I legit will make the razor burn worse! I’m olive skinned and black hair on legs, under arms and bikini area so it freakin sucks having razor burn on your pie and your legs! Especially being summer/ dress and bikini season. I have used the pink Venus disposable sensitive razors since they were released years ago but after they were recently changed I was no longer a fan of the sensitive disposable razors, so I when I found these and tried them I instantly fell in love. They are exactly like the original pink sensitive disposable razors. Not only do I not get razor burn, but these razors last through multiple shaves. I luke that so many razors refills come with your first purchase. I Like the strip above the razor that feels like silk on my legs and help moisturize my legs. My legs feel super smooth once I use this. Very close cut. And easy to grip and glide over rough areas. Gillette Venus new platinum extra smooth razor was so much better than expected. I used to use the regular Venus razors, but stopped because they were abrasive on my sensitive skin. The old razors would cause rough bumps on my legs and were uncomfortable. I could feel the razor dragging on my skin. I've been a loyal customer of another brand for a while now, but am really considering changing to these new platinum extra smooth razors! I tried shaving both with a lot of hair and a little stubble- the performances of the razor were great. A smooth glide with no pulling or abrasiveness. I also experienced extremely smooth shaves that left my legs soft and without a rash. I have extremely sensitive skin and this razor checked all the boxes for me. Smooth shave, great for sensitive skin, stands up to longer hair and still accomplishes the task with shorter hair. I also love the feel of the razor- it's a heavier weight which I feel indicates quality and craftsmanship. I got this originally for my daughter, but she said it hurt. So, I started using it. It gets most of the job done, but doesn’t get everything or a close shave. I have had my electric shaver for over a year now, and dang, is it durable!! This electric shaver, is built to last! I've dropped it onto hard flooring, I've thrown it, and it didn't crack or break or dent AT ALL. There's been some instances where my shaver was dropped (hard) onto wood flooring, hard enough that it should have ended up in pieces, unusable, but has performed consistently up until now. Unfortunately, with all the use it's seen, it's just now getting to the point of needing to be replaced, but it's still working. In a world full of cheaply made crap from China, Phillips is crafting their products to the good ol' USA standards for durability and consistent performance. Would DEFINITELY recommend!! This was one of my first razors I used when I was younger and have been using it for years! Sadly over the years it was harder to find the razor and the refills, but I am glad it is sold on the website and I hope they continue to sell it. I really love using it for the underarms, for it glides easily. I usually use men’s razors to shave my legs but the Venus extra smooth platinum razor does the job better than any women razor I’ve tried. I like to shave my legs at night for the next day but my legs are always prickly the next morning. To avoid prickly legs I would shave them right before going out but that’s so inconvenient. Last night I shaved using Venus Extra smooth and now 15 hours later my legs are still smooth. The heavy handle feels great in my hand while shaving. I decided to get myself a Razor because I wanted to get a different one for myself than the ones I normally use. When I got this one the cartridge was in the container along with the razor I just had to attach the two of them. It was not easy to get the razor out of the small container it came in. So I had to click it into the cartridge stem. There is also a button on the stem to press forward when I decide to get a replacement for the razor. It also has 5 blades for a nice and close shave. Let me just say this is by far the Best Razor I had ever used in My life. I absolutely love it. When I shaved let's just say my skin was super soft. It gave me a clean and soft shave without stubble. Nice razor. Definitely achieve a nice smooth shave. Even on stubble, there was no tugging. I was able to be extra lightweight. The handle is very heavy, which helps me apply less pressure when shaving. I did drop it in my tub, and was afraid it may have chipped the glaze. So beware of that. I’ve gotten multiple shaves out of one blade. The conditioner on the blade is nice and smooth and not sticky. I can rinse it off well afterwards. This is the best razor I have ever used. It provides the smoothest shave and the razor lasts far longer than any razor I’ve ever used- including men’s razors- without irritation. I will never use a different razor. First and foremost, the razor has five blades which is the best for getting the closest and smoothest shave. Secondly, the razor is made of metal which provides a great weight, its ergonomically designed the fit perfectly in your hand, and the razor pivots incredibly well to smoothly to shave around the knees, and bony body parts. Third, the moisturizing pads around the razor stay “slimey” for a long time and provide the best moisture for shaving. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, although I don’t know how they do it, but this razor lasts forever! I’m still on my same razor after two weeks and I’ve shaved my lady area three times without irritation. It’s magic! I love the design of the razor! It’s chic and looks very luxe for a Gillette Venus razor. The touches of mirrored silver on the razor’s handle are a nice design. You can tell the razor was designed with careful thought. The handle is heavy and a little weighted to allow you more grip. I appreciate the ergonomic design of the handle of which allows me to comfortably maneuver the razor blades while shaving. The added design of the flexible hinge and the five blades allows me a nice, close and clean shave every time. This design is important for me as this minimizes any razor burns I’d get after shaving. This also makes shaving in the more sensitive areas of the ankles and knees less of a concern for getting any nicks or cuts on the skin. Overall this is a great and functional non-disposable razor that is thoughtfully designed with pretty and feminine details. I was surprised by how much I liked this product. I have used Gillette razors forever. I have been loyal to the Venus razors since they came out. Any time I use another razor, I regret it and go back. When I tried this razor I did not anticipate it would be better than any of their other Venus razors. I got the best shave I have ever had with this razor. I love the heavy metal handle and the packaging housing the razor is easy to open, even with wet hands in the shower. The razor clicks on easily to the handle. I usually end up cutting myself with a new razor but did not experience that with this razor. There are five blades that the packaging says is “diamond-like coated”. Not sure how that makes it better, maybe the blades last longer? This Review is for the 4 Blade not the 3 blade showing in picture. Bic Soleil 4 blade razors are my go to for getting a smooth clean shave. The 4 blade razor is perfect, I never get razor burns from a dull razor, and the curved wider handle feels secure allowing me the perfect pressure to prevent any slips up or nicks while shaving. I buy the 14 count packages from Costco's saving me a little money compared to the smaller pkgs.
I've been using the Soleil Bic Glow razors since I first received them and am really happy with the quality of the product and the results I've gotten from using them. First off, I'm really impressed at how long the blades are lasting and staying sharp. A lot of the cheap, poor-quality disposables I've used have rusted after a week in the shower, so I might get one or two uses out of them. While I don't pretend to shave every day, I shave often enough that I imagined I'd have to replace the razor pretty frequently. I'm actually still using the same first razor I took out of the package – I've never had a disposable razor last so long and continue to give the same results as Day 1! I've also put one in my gym bag for the few occasions I'll shave after a work-out, but I'm still amazed at how long these razors are lasting. While the package of three is more expensive than the usual disposable razors, it's worth it when they're lasting so much longer – maybe even a more affordable option since I'm not throwing them out every week! Second, Bic Soleil Glow delivers on what they promise – a smooth, comfortable shave. The Comfort-Shield head (the larger plastic around the three blades) is a bit bulky, so it makes it slightly harder to get curvy areas – particularly underarms, bikini line, and around the knee. Despite this, I've still had a great shave in all those areas, as well as on my legs. I don't have to keep running the blade over and over the same place, I don't find hairs I've missed after I get out of the bath. It's awesome! The absolute best part – the real selling point, in my opinion – is that I've had zero irritation using this razor. No bleeding all over my towels from a cut, no painful nicks that burn, and NO bumps or in-grown hairs. I've never had a disposable razor that left me so smooth and free of irritation. I even find that the Soleil Glow is better than some non-disposables in that respect. The Bic Soleil Glow razors are a product I would definitely recommend and will keep purchasing. After I tried them, I saw them on sale at a local store and picked up a pack for my spare bathroom and for my teenage daughter to use. They're the perfect razor for a young girl just getting the hang of shaving, since they're easy to hold, don't cause cuts or bumps, and are pretty cute, too!

I was provided the opportunity to test the Philips SatinShave Prestige BRL170/50 premium electric shaving unit. This specific product came neatly packaged, and included the main razor/base, in addition to 4 accessories (a convenient travel cap, a bikini trimming tool/head, an efficiency cap, and a pearl trimmer with safety bar). The SatinShave also came with a small carrying case, and a charging cable. The system took approximately 60 minutes to charge fully, and also featured a 5-minute quick charge option for convenience (if you're in need of a single shave). I found that the unit held power throughout a lengthy shave (multiple areas) consistently. Lights indicating low battery life, full battery life and charging mode were displayed clearly on the main unit. I utilized Philips SatinShave on three areas of my body: my legs, my underarms and my bikini area. The unit itself was easy to hold, and its ergonomic handle shape felt natural, comfortable and light in the hand. The performance of the Philips SatinShave unit was underwhelming in regard to underarm hair removal. I found it difficult to manipulate the unit under the arm successfully (due to shape of anatomy), in order to achieve/maintain close contact between the foil head and the hair/skin. The Philips SatinShave worked average for leg hair removal. Although the shaver glided over the leg smoothly, the unit did leave residual, coarse stubble, behind on the legs. I found the SatinShave to require more than one pass over areas of the leg (especially the knee) in order to achieve maximum smoothness. In general, I do not feel that the razor surpassed the smoothing effects of waxing or a traditional razor. I also did not feel the electric razor was a time-saver in comparison to a traditional shave. However, Philips SatinShave razor did work to remove hair well in the bikini area and on the legs with minimal irritation, despite having sensitive skin. The SatinShave is also a great on-the-go shaving tool for times when you may miss a spot shaving. It is a great shaver unit to travel with, and I was impressed with the shavers cordless capability, comfortable handle, trimming tools/accessories, actual power and battery-life. Overall, I am happy to have the Philips SatinShave Prestige BRL170/150 as a new tool in my hair removal arsenal.Hayleyc925
I have two complaints about this product – 1) the position of the on/off and speed buttons means I'm constantly turning the razor off when I'm trying to shave. They are placed where one would normally grip the razor. 2) the plastic head protector breaks easily. The grips that hold it in place aren't robust. Your customer service department were very quick in replacing the plastic cover under warranty. The actual razor itself delivers a good shave. This is my third razor purchased from Philips.PHFE
Seeing as I haven't used an electric razor in almost 30 years due to severe irritation after shaving, I was very pleasantly surprised, there was no irritation after shaving at all, with the added bonus of no chance of nicks and cuts. The cut is extremely good it doesn't pull the hairs out like the one I used so many years ago. Its such a good shave that I even use it to shave my head and not just my face instead using of my normal fixed blade razor. The best feature for me is the ability to be able to use it wet (my preferred method) in the shower. I have yet to have full shave with the razor dry, but the spots I missed in the first few shaves That I 'touched up' dry while getting used to the razor showed no irritation at all. I also find it a bit quicker than my normal razor as well, I would estimate at least 5 minutes quicker per full head and face shave. The result is comparable to my normal wet razor except in a couple of areas mainly the underside / point of my chin, its not visibly noticeable but I can feel it when running my hand over those areas, but this may be just experience related. I have also noticed that I use less shaving soap than I did before so it will save me some money in the long term. I would like to see what the shave is like in 6 months and whether I have to replace the cutting heads more often than the estimated 2 years as I am using it for a longer shave than it is really designed for each time I use it. The other thing I have noticed is it is so quiet when in use even when cutting several days’ growth. I was pleased at the fact it came well packed in attractive OEM packaging with its own travel case, the only thing I would suggest is perhaps a little additional space inside the travel case to accommodate the charging cable. Other than that it was easy to use, easy to clean with fast charging time and plenty of shaving time. The pictorial instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. It took a little while to get used to a different speed of shaving and the fact I had to use circular motions for the best shave, but now I wouldn't be without it. Even my girlfriend has noticed how good a shave it is, I didn't tell her I has switched from fixed blade wet shave to electric and she didn't notice the difference. I would recommend this razor to anyone considering 'trading up' to an electric razor. Had I had the chance to 'try before I buy' I would have purchased a similar model of razor years ago.Fraggle1971

This razor works ok. I can only use it on certain parts of my body or it irritates my skin. My skin is very sensitive though and I have a hard time finding razors that overall work well for me. On the spots that I can use it on it works great. It glides smoothly because of the lubrastrip and makes my skin feel soft and smooth. The razors design is cute and simple. I really like the color of it. It has 3 blades ok each cartridge and comes with 2 cartridges in the box with the razor. The packaging is also made of mostly recycled fibers, which is really cool. Overall, I like it and it works wel for me on certain locations, but would probably work better for someone who doesn’t have very sensitive skin!Jazmyne
Recently started using this razor and currently liking it. I’ve had the razor for about 2 weeks and have not had a need to change the razor yet. I anticipate that I’ll be able to use the razor for about 4 weeks before having to switch it out. The Venus smooth razor is easy to use and light weight. The handle is made out of plastic and about 1/3 of the handle is covered in rubber. The handle is shaped to allow the user versatility when holding it. I loved how the shape of the razor allowed me to place my thumb on a groove where it wouldn’t slip. I did not like how round and wide the bottom of the razor was. The bottom of the razor felt a little awkward when I held it but I understand how others could find it convenient. The blade it self cut very well and I was able to easy shave my armpits and legs. This is a really nice basic razor that has no soaps so it's perfect for someone who is often allergic to the "soaps" that other razors have. You could also use any type of blades in this line that fit it so if one time you want to use one with soap or without you can. I really like that it's curved so it makes shaving your armpits and legs easier. I always have positive things to say about the Venus line as I've used it in the past. The blade shaved really nicely and I didn't get any nicks especially since I just used water and no shave gel. I would, however, suggest using some when shaving especially in sensitive areas. Overall, I would use the product again in the future.heavenlyshadow25
