20 Best Work From Home Accessories (Jan 2023 Update)

I went to the store to see if they had the 22 1/2 inch in stock- all the models said on them "21 inch." I have a 17 inch laptop so I need the extra size to accommodate the laptop and mouse comfortably. I ordered the 22 1/2 inch and had it delivered- what was sent to me was the 21 inch. I took it back to the store to see if they could get the correct one for me but they actually don't exist despite what the manufacturer and websites say. I have attempted to buy a "LapGear XL Deluxe" from the manufacture and from multiple stores including this one. I verified with the store employee that sku for this model is associated with the 22 1/2 inch XL Deluxe model, HOWEVER- the model is actually only 21 inches and it says so right on the packaging. The store employee actually took the models off the shelves and scanned them and they all came up associated with the 22 1/2 inch, while they all actually were only 21 inches. This seems to be an issue directly from the manufacturer and not just Office Depot because multiple retailers all are selling the wrong size model, all with similar labeling. The employee was super helpful and its not an issue with this retailer- its an issue directly from the manufacturer with this particular product. I wanted to include this narrative so that people dont waste their time trying to order it online, it since the result will still conclude with the wrong size product. I know the 22 1/2 inch desk exists because my boyfriend owns one that he bought at officedepot/officemax over a year ago. I have been trying to track down a 22 1/2 inch lapdesk for several months, with no success. The quality of the 22 1/2 inch model is far superior to the 21 inch. When you look at them from a distance they appear similar, but when you look at them up-close a HUGE difference is apparent. The new 21 inch ones look like cheap knockoffs you get at a discount store, by comparison. The construction on the 21 inch is cheaper materials and the edges and places where the fabric is attached are not as sound or solid as the 22 1/2 inch ones. (The edges on some are curled up and you see the seams, some look like the glue holding them can come off). Truthfully the manufacturer should be embarrassed trying to pass off these knockoffs with their name. The 22 1/2 inch ones are the type of desk that everyone immediately would love to have, and the type of thing you buy for all your friends and family. The 21 inch are not worth the money, even if i had a smaller laptop.lulu

Unless you have a 3 foot wide lap you’ll have this product. Instead of being fully padded on the bottom there’s just one strip of padding at the top edge and another at the bottom edge. The bottom edge sits atop your thighs but the top edge is beyond your knees and the fit isn’t comfortable. I’m also tall with long legs so it’s not due tome being short. It’s also expensive at more than $50. If I hadn’t discarded the packaging I would have retired it the next day. However, without thinking I did. This think is junk!AlPatz

I needed a lap desk with a small lip to keep my laptop from sliding off, as well as have room for my mouse. This one is absolutely perfect. The surface of the desk has a sleek pattern and keeps the laptop from sliding around. The small lip gives further security to keep the laptop from sliding off and does not get in the way of typing, either. The pad for the mouse is anti-slip (not sure what the fabric is made from), yet the mouse moves/functions perfectly. Also, BBB is $20 cheaper than the biggest online store A**z**.Cindy

If you are looking for something to travel with this is not it. Its huge bulky heavy! this thing is huge!. I got it b/c i am a traveling student i needed a study area. As soon as i took it out of the box i knew it wasnt for me it was so heavy. The idea is nice but i rather go for a lap desk from ross for 10 bucks small, sturdy and practical.Genthehen

I had high hopes for this portable office case. It is big, bulky and heavy. Not a deal breaker, until I opened it and saw there was not much room for what I needed it for. There is a place for the laptop, but there's only one little area for files. I was hoping for alot more storage in that big case, but it was just cumbersome without the function.HB

I purchased the desk mat in sand colour and was really excited for it to be a part of my workspace upgrade. It's been on my desk for a few days and it looks great. However, there are a few things that are bothering me more than I thought they would – the mat keeps sliding around on my desk top (which is solid oak); the vegan leather is closer to being higher quality PVC than it is leather; and my mouse doesn't seem to like it as a mouse pad. I noticed that many people have over a sustained period of time given the same feedback that the mat doesn't stay put; is it really that difficult for Orbitkey to rectify this? I am inclined to return this and buy a heavier leather mat elsewhere. I really wanted to like this but for the price it cost me, it doesn't match my expectations. Separately I have the nest and love everything about it and happy to have paid a premium for it.Joanne C.

I really like the Orbitkey desk mat. it fits perfect on my small desk and I find that I use the toolbar more than I anticipated, and the cable holder is a winner. At first, I thought that the cable holder would just be a nice “techie” thing but no, it’s really convenient way to keep cables handy and out of the way without having to worry if the cable fell behind the desk when I ‘m not using it, I wish I would have bought a second one. also, the document hideaway really helps keep me organized and minimize the clutter when I’m working on multiple projects and notes. This really should be a 5-star review, however, there are a couple of things that I struggle with. I really like the felt backing and I know it will protect my desk, but I don’t like that it also makes the mat slide around quite easily and I find myself constantly repositioning it. The other thing that I find now that I used it for just under a month is that the super strong magnets on the cable holder at times come off when I’m repositioning the cable holder. Neither one of these issues is a deal beaker for me and its one of the nicest desk mats I have used. All I need to find now is something to keep the mat form moving around.Hector R.

I think the desk mat is awesome, it's everything I expected and more. I absolutely love the quality, I love the color, the functionality. And I love that it doesn't slide around much, which was a big initial concern for me. I do have some feedback for Orbitkey. Not full complaints, but feedback. First of all, the protective inner paper that comes within the deskmat is *incredibly sharp*. I cut myself real bad unpacking this thing. I would suggest an alternative paper, maybe even a thicker paper made out of recycled material that may not have as sharp edges as this giant razor blade I was sent. Second of all, the box it was sent in seemed a bit too small for the desk mat. It was really difficult to get it out of the box, and I didn't want to destroy the box just in case I had to return it or if I want to store it later on. With that, the desk mat took weeks to get perfectly flat, which i was not the biggest fan of. I would be absolutely fine receiving a larger box, if it meant the mat was shipped flat. I had to leave the mat under a bunch of heavy books for a few days and even that didn't help that much. I eventually just ended up tying it rolled in the opposite curve for a few hours and it got it 90% of the way there. For whoever buys it, skip putting weights on it and just butcher twine it in the other way and it'll be flat pretty quick, which it then got better after some use. I was very hesitant to purchase this chair because of other reviews which claimed the assembly was too complicated and the lumbar support was bad. I took a chance and i do not regret it. The assembly was EXTREMELY easy, all the holes and screws matched up. The lumbar support is good, my back feels better on this chair. The arm rests and size of the chair are nice so it fits most desks. The wheels roll VERY smoothly. I am not sure how long it will last but it feels heavy duty and sturdy enough for long term use.Saryah

This chair is very comfortable. It rolls around pretty good on the carpet so would be perfect on regular floor. I like the shape and color and it is very lightweight, easy to move. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge but I'm 72 years old so most things are. I did not have enough strength to snap the wheels in so had to use a hammer and block for that. Someone younger and stronger probably with have no trouble. Everything was included (no extra tools needed) and I was sitting in it a half hour after it arrived. You could not ask for a better chair for this price.Carol

WOW!! I ordered this chair from Factory Direct Wholesale. Get delivered today and was packaged missing a whole leg … the part is one solid piece not sure how that is missing when packaging the parts!!?? Is pretty obvious its missing a leg. I’m 5’2 118 lbs. I can’t imagine being bigger because this lap pad feels as if it serves very little purpose. It barely covers my lap and I could easily put my laptop on a pillow. It’s probably practical for a tablet. Sure, there is space for a mouse and I can only use that area for writing something and a space for my phone to prop up. If it were wider and have more space it would have better use to me.Flo

I had a cheap plastic one from the $ store before, which was hard to move without it collapsing or changing size. Wanted something sturdy. Totally satisfied with this one. I had a stand like this, but it was made of plastic. It lasted a couple of years. This one is so sturdy and made of metal. I expect it to last a lifetime. It is perfect for keeping the air moving under my computer. It can easily be folded up for traveling. Very satisfied.jrvpuntagorda

Having an adjustable lap desk is ideal for using when lounging in a recliner or in the bed when resting. I like having the cushioned bottom, very comfortable. When I used it on my desk, it sits flat without wobbling when typing on my laptop or using a keyboard for my desktop. It is very light (a plus) with a handle to carry it around where you need to sit and use.ragcog

Finally…..I look like myself at Zoom meetings! This tool is just what I needed to safely raise my laptop to "face level". Prevents the bent-over look providing face distortions during meetings. Used to stack books which left my laptop teetering…..but no more. Soft panels underneath are good for surface or lap use. This is molded plastic….so it is not heavy at all. A great purchase.JanS

I am teaching from home and needed something other than a cardboard box to raise my laptop and camera up, while still being able to type. This is perfect. My laptop not only fits perfectly, but is now on a comfortable angle for typing, the camera is no longer under my chin, and I can even use my docking station and charge my laptop while it sits on the desk. I had previously ordered a lap desk that ended up being way to wide, I should have checked the measurements first. I returned it and bought this one. This is the perfect little lap desk and fits perfectly across my lap on the recliner I use, it fits right between the arms. I was just sitting my laptop on my lap and it would heat up quickly, so would my lap! No longer have that problem. Great for just sitting and working on any paperwork also. I fell in love the very first day I got it. I literally use this everyday and my favorite part about it besides the area for your mouse ao you don't need a mouse pad is the indent towards the back right where you can stick your phone straight up and watch it or be charging it etc. I would also give this a 5 of 5 stars for comfortablility. I spent a lot of time looking for a laptop stand and I'm very happy I purchased this one. I use it with my 2019 MacBook Pro. I was initially worried about the fact that the stand is not height-adjustable. Despite that, I bought it anyway. I took some measurements and figured it'd be tall enough. Now that I've used it for a couple weeks, I think the height is mostly fine. I do wish it were a little taller (or adjustable), but all the other stands that *were* adjustable weren't nearly as beautiful as this one – and I was definitely concerned about how it would look on my desk. Overall, the stand is quite beautiful and the build quality is fantastic. Also, the little feet/pads on the bottom of the stand are substantial enough that I'm not afraid of it damaging my nice wooden desk top. Shipping was also good. Very happy!Andrew

I bought this for my M1 MBP. I use an external monitor, kb and mouse when I am at home. This is essentially a base for my MBP. Its made out of metal. Its sturdy-ish and aesthetic wise very apple. Works really well for videoconferencing. If typing with any significant pressure you will see and feel the metal flex and bounce as your typing. I guess I wish it was rock solid sturdy, but then it would have been really heavy. I dont know what the tear drop in the middle is for. The white cable management ring on the back is nice, but not necessary? Also wish that white circle was a darker color. Really stands out and not in a good way. Its still a great product. Dont mind my nitpicking. Even the packaging was great. But yeah that white ring on the back, change it to black 🙂Isaac

Great tray for work, drawing, or reading on the couch or bed! Underside pillow is fluffy enough that my kids will flip the table over to use it as a pillow. The whole thing is small enough to be used in a car if you wanted to. I got a deal buying during a 2-for-1. Only downside is that the slot is slightly too narrow to fit my phone with the case onJonathan W.

This lap desk is so useful! Everyone in our family uses it. The soft part is comfortable yet stable. I can read a book or use my laptop on the tray. The kids can use it for homework. I bought my Traybo 2.0 in May of 2020, and now in February of 2021 it is cracked and warped. I unfortunately can't attach a photo to my review, (but I will on Amazon), but the wood is cracked in 5 places along the grain. I have never gotten the tray wet, nor have I abused it in any way – just used it as a lap desk with my Macbook. Super disappointed in this product.Karen Y.

The credenza is exactly as described. I purchased two and the top of one came broken in half. Bush Furniture didn't hesitate to ship a replacement to me. Hayneedle, on the other hand, was a nightmare to deal with. I will not shop with Hayneedle again.Mandy

I like the desk but a couple issues. Build quality is mediocre. Some of the plastic caps aren't sized right to cover up the locking bolts. The desk has a huge scratch in it also. Too heavy to bother returning it since it sits against a wall.pts12345

For the price, this is an excellent option! I work from home and FINALLY decided to set up a dedicated office. The desk was super simple to put together. I already had a nice 2 drawer file cabinet and it fits under this desk perfectly. Eventually, I will get the matching cabinet. The desk is very roomy! I have a large external monitor, my laptop on a stand so I can use that screen too, my work phone and plenty of extra space to work! I purchased an undermount pencil drawer (another manufacture) and it works perfectly. Very pleased!mikey6982

The file holder would be a perfect five star but… It arrived in a perfect box but the holder itself arrived all bent up. I should have sent it back but I did not want to deal with all of the hassle. Inside of the Walmart box that was in perfect shape the file holder came in a clear bag. That means that whoever packed it just ignored the damaged condition that it was in. Organizer was a bit smaller that expected, but it will work. Also it was lesser quality than I would expect and arrived bent in a few spots. Again, not enough to send it back. I will make it work. I ordered this desk to be a second desk in my home office now that COVID has me remote full time. This was my third choice after the first two were unavailable, despite Staples not indicating them to be so. My first problem with the desk is that the length isn't nearly what the picture shows. I'll take that as my own fault for not actually paying attention to the specifications. The problem that isn't my fault is something that I'm afraid will make this desk almost unusable. The bracket on one side of the keyboard tray has no lip on it to go over the wheel on the track that is attached to the leg of the desk. This means that the slightest bit of movement can cause the tray to fall off and dump my keyboard and mouse onto the floor, hitting my legs in the process if I'm sitting there. This is a totally unacceptable flaw for a desk that cost over $100. This will only be usable until I find a better quality desk that will fit in the space.Justin

You could easily take out three or four undead with a keyboard-tray this wide, or better yet, use it to hold your IBM Model M, a much faster weapon. The desk can be folded in moments for transport to the nearest survivors' camp or used as a barricade. Sure, it's a little wobbly and the veneer is easily scratched, but I can say from personal experience (I've owned two) that it's durable, convenient, and generously sized. Did I mention it can hold an IBM Model M? It can, along with a standard mouse pad, leaving the entire surface of the desk free. The instructions are clear, assembly trivial. My old one made it through numerous moves with nothing but a few marks and duct-tape scars. I wouldn't hesitate to turn to my new one should an undead army lay siege to the neighborhood.MEL

Box arrived and assembly was super easy due to it being a folding piece, with just 4 screws to pop in. It comes with stabilizing hardware for attaching to the wall. It's an appealing design, the sliding platform being the primary choice as defense against a cat that likes to be on my keyboard. Unfortunately I had to dock a star for the overall stability of the desk. I can easily attach some braces myself, but the fact that I need to for safer use is a negative. Besides that? Looks nice, easy assembly and disassembly, all for a good price.Jesse

I was debating between the razer seiren mini, seiren X, blue yeti nano, and this. My friends happen to own each one of these except the hyperx solocast, so I bought it to compare this with the other mics. Superficially, they all sound pretty much the same, but on closer analysis, both the razers sound like you're speaking through a tin can. It's a subtle difference, but it's there. The blue yeti nano and the hyperx solocast have very similar sounds and build quality, and they both have a mute button. I like the black color for the solocast, and the fact that it is slightly cheaper than the blue yeti nano, so I decided to go with the solecast. After a few weeks of use, I'm in love with this tiny little microphone. It has really good build quality, and for people looking for a casual microphone for team meetings/talking with friends/gaming, this is perfect.Jazz

I purchased this as a replacement for a Blue Snowball that died on me after 4 good years of daily use and abuse. Physically, the Solocast feels solidly built, and the “tap to mute” button on the top is pretty intuitive. This mic is good for the price, but don’t expect it to be the “end-all” of USB mics. The Solocast is very “mid-heavy”; lows and highs have noticeable compression to them. This isn’t inherently bad, but it can cause the Solocast to sound flat. It’s very apparent in voice calls where bitrate is on the lower side of “good” (Discord, Teamspeak, Zoom, etc). I strongly suggest buying a shock mount and pop filter as well as this mic loves to pick up plosives. The Snowball, while having a lower frequency range, almost sounded better tonally in my opinion. It picked up more “low-end” and gave an almost announcer or podcast feel. I ended up returning this mic and purchasing it’s bigger brother: the HyperX Quadcast. The price jump for the Quadcast is definitely worth it, but if you only have $60 to spend, the Solocast should suffice. However, I highly recommend looking at the Snowball for comparison before purchasing. You can’t really go wrong with either for $60, but what kind of sound you want will determine which you should get.Caleb

This microphone was extremely good, but to the point where it’s too good. It catches everything and is extremely clear, but if you have a boom arm you have to be careful, cause almost every movement or small noise is apparent. I added a pop filter recently so that fixed most of the extra noise. All in all the microphone was really good and I definitely would recommend to others. The quality was great, it’s metal and the included tripod is also very good quality. Once again the sound quality is phenomenal and the microphone is extremely good, but you will probably need a pop filter if you intend to keep the microphone on for recordings, podcasts, or streaming. If you got it for zoom and intend to unmute for a short period of time then you probably won’t need a pop filter.Mahad

As with all things HP, the setup on this 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor was a breeze. If you have ever connected a monitor to a computer before, then you already know enough! In a few minutes, it was ready to test out. I chose to test it out on my laptop. I started off simply opening different software programs to see if there were any noticeable differences in the color, resolution, etc, than my laptop. I was impressed with the clarity of the text, Although it is not like reading book text directly from a book, it is still super high quality. From the software programs I went to photos and videos. This is where I noticed some remarkable differences. Colors were spot on. There was no noticeable bleeding, and videos were crisp and clear. There was a depth to the detail that just seems missing on my other monitors. Blacks are especially accurate and true. Although I am not a hardcore gamer, the games I did play were fluid, realistic, and several steps above what I have been used to. The greatest feature of this monitor is that it is so easy on the eyes. I was on the computer for several hours last night and today, and I felt NO fatigue on my eyes. There is a comforting feel to the whole viewing experience that absolutely does not interfere with the viewing experience. The bottom line is, does this monitor perform as expected or better, and does it offer a viewing experience that would compel someone to buy it? Absolutely yes…it does. The size and viewing angle make the monitor seem like it is so much larger than it really is. Text is crisp and clear, and photos and videos are exceptionally vivid and true to color. Eye fatigue is minimal, and because of the unique styling of the base, its footprint is quite small on the desk or table. I would highly recommend the HP 24" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor to EVERYONE looking to upgrade their work, gaming, and browsing experience. This really is a must have addition.Patrick

If you’re looking for something on the affordable side of the 24” monitor segment, particularly for a home office or workstation application – the M24f’s IPS panel is going to be tough to beat. It looks absolutely great on almost any desk, excellent viewing angles, a respectable 99% sRGB color gamut reproduction, and thoughtful productivity enhancing touches like HP’s Eye Ease (the always on blue light filtering tech) to help protect your eyes while you’re plugging away on your work for hours on end. The M24f supports AMD FreeSync variable refresh rate and is a more than capable of pulling double duty for casual HD gaming at “lower” refresh rates (compared to the “higher 144Hz + up models). HP makes other gaming monitors that would undoubtedly be better suited if that what you’re looking. ======================================== >>>>> Picture Quality/Image Reproduction: <<<<< ======================================== I work with a lot, and I do mean a lot, of computer monitors, TV monitors, projectors, and everything in between for what seems like decades now. Needless to say, many of those monitors have been HP monitors throughout that time. I have come to respect HP for always providing a quality product for almost every segment and the M24f is no exception. It sports an exceptionally crisp 1920 x 1080 native display resolution that HP states offers “ultra-wide 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles”. I’d be hard pressed to argue with their claims, because even compared to other IPS panels in this size range, something about the M24f just “popped” in images and video when I started messing around with the viewing angles in study. The M24f also has a more than respectable color reproduction with 99% sRGB color space. Like literally every monitor – ever – you will most likely have to “tune” or calibrate the monitor to enhance the color palate for a particular type of workload or productivity task in order to get the most visual effect out of the images/videos you are working with. ========================= >>>>> Physical Design: <<<<< ========================= I really liked the elegant and simplistic design aesthetic that HP used for the M24f. In summary – it looks more expensive than it is. Particularly when viewed from the side or at corner angles that allow the particularly slim upper and side bezels showcase the IPS panel even more. Add in the M24f’s simple, yet cleverly implemented cable management system that runs down the back of the silver base, it is ideal for workstation use or front office style desks where a smaller 24” form factor or visual exterior design appeal matters more than sheer physical screen size. I am not particularly crazy about the hidden OSD control buttons along the lower right side – but they work well enough and fit in with the whole “minimalistic” design theme that is going on here. I was disappointed to learn that the M24f does NOT support VESA mounting, which is a bummer for me (and anyone else) that has a multiple monitor arm set up at home or in the workspace. While the M24f’s screen may sport exceptional viewing angles – sadly the monitor arm and base do not. You can “tilt” and adjust the horizontal viewing angle, the stand/base does not offer vertical height adjustment not does the screen tilt left – to -right either. That being said, even with the limited base adjustment, the IPS screen viewing angles make the whole package more than manageable for everyday use. Also, I can’t neglect to mention how light the whole unit feels, almost too light – which is a compliment. Unfortunately, I was also disappointed to learn that there are no “built-in” speakers for “basic” sound reproduction, which isn’t really a negative thing, but more of something to be aware of in case you needed that functionality out the box. Looks more expensive than it is… So many monitors to choose from, and this may be a good one for you in a business or home setting – as it has good refresh, very crisp colors, and a very stylish appearance. Before going further, there are a few critical questions that may sort out whether this monitor is a good choice for your needs: 1 – Heavy Gaming >> probably not as the maximum refresh rate is 70Hz, the response time is 5ms, and there is no HDR support. 2 – Light Gaming >> no problems – this is my category and I have enjoyed the display color and have not noticed any frame skipping, smearing, or response lags. 3 – Daily internet, email, videos, social media, streaming – all of these look great, nice color, crisp text. 4 – Size – 24” screen which has plenty of room for most people. If you are looking at multiple monitors then 2 x 24” screens provides a lot of real estate and at this price point getting two for a new and stylish work area appearance might be a good idea! 5 – Connectivity – you get 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port – so if you only have display port on your computer you may have some connection limitations. 5 – Adjustability – OK the viewing angle has a good bit of adjustment, but there is no height adjustment. If you have two of these for multiple monitors – no problems, but if you already have one monitor set up and want to add this one to the mix, you get what you get for height and you may want to be sure you can adjust height on your other monitor if that is how you like them. I mentioned style a few times already, and this is a very modernistic style monitor down to the base – and unbelievably light since there are no built-in speakers to add to the width. If you are particular about how your desktop looks, this will add a very modern touch. If you are adding this as a second monitor to your desktop, it will definitely stand out and might be best “in the middle” where you keep your primary monitor. Getting a new monitor usually comes down to what looks best to you, and what fits best on your desktop. Best Buy will have these on display along with other monitors, so I recommend getting up close and personal before buying a monitor… your choice is going to be right in front of you for a long time, so to me it is worth the time to go and have a look before making the final decision. The mount was pretty easy to put together and install. There was an issue with the screws/accessories not being labeled on the packaging so you have to analyze the pictures in the manual to figure it out. The only flaw is that you need to loosen the bolt, adjust, and retighten it to move the mount up and down. Otherwise, it easily adjusts horizontally.ChyanneH

I wouldn't really recommend this. I will tolerate it for a while to come but there are certainly better choices out there and I will explain why. You will come to understand what you get with a cheap laptop mount. 1. you will assemble all of it which is fine but the instructions are fairly spartan and if you aren't so mechanically inclined you'll probably be guessing as I was at time. I built the thing in a quarter of an hour but I can't but feel it wouldn't have been as long had they labelled the bags holding the parts so I wasn't guessing as much. 2. it has lots of really sharp points due to cheap manufacturing. For example on the underside of the tray for the laptop are these sharp bits from where the machine punching the metal into shape left edges behind. I have to remember to not pull the tray with my hands in certain edges because these bits are sharp enough to cut pretty easily. 3. which brings me to my next point which is kids should not use this. Its got to many sharp edges. I don't even have kids but if I got this for one and felt these edges during the assembly of the thing I would stop immediately and repackage it to return it. 4. the piece that slide into the tray on the boom arm to hold it has a gap of a millimeters. Not much but enough that the tray wobbles incessantly which is super annoying. My solution was to use a crescent wrench and a Philips screwdriver to tighten all the bolts on the tray specifically the one connecting to the boom arm. Of course the bolts loosen quickly so you have to keep at it every few days. 5. the review structure requires I give it a star rating on ease of use. So as mentioned above with problem 1. the arm is difficult to assemble with little help from the packaging holding the pieces or the instruction booklet itself. Once set up though on your desk its stupid simple so 3. stars. So there is four reasons that you really shouldn't buy this. Really bummed about this. I bought two of these monitors 8 or so months apart. It was immediately clear that there was a slight different in color between the two monitors, but I figured that was normal. About a month after ownership, I realized the two monitors were physically different sizes – one is nearly half a centimeter thicker than the other, and the front lip is a different design to. The only reason I bought a second one is because I wanted an identical monitor for a dual screen setup. Not too happy about that.Matt

This Monitor is very good. But I would not pay way more than the 90$ I gave on black friday. Meanwhile there are several Monitors with Low Blue light adjuster and flicker free as well as brightness sensor. This Monitor has at least all 3 items although I have seen an Phillips Monitor for a Little more Money with These Features as well which has on top an colour gammut of 108% NTSC and has 75 Hertz refresh rate. I would probably take by now the Phillips as it is at 106$ by now – same Screen size and Display. But Overall this is an awesome Monitor. It is rated for 30000 hours backlight LED endurance and power on for MTBF of 60000 hours. My SSD has now over 10000 hs and is already a couple of years old (91% wear Level), so expect the Monitor to last about the same as an SSD with normal use. Colour gammut is 72% NTSC and is good enough for all Tasks. It came with an HDMI cable included. Stand is sturdy since it has metal underneath the plastic. I have the blue light filter on 50% (webbrowsing they call it) which reduces brigthness greatly (to which I am a bit sensitive as it seems). Auto brightness sensor is built in which does work (shining on the sensor with an flashlight increases the Screen glow and reducing it afterwards with lights switched off). Has DP and HDMI ports. Speakers are so so but work. On an Monitor like this Speakers are not really needed since I have an 2.1 T&V Speaker System. Built in Speakers are really important only in tablets where they have to be excellent and loud enough since one is not going to toss around a real estate of attached Speakers. On Desktop Setups built in Speakers are not important. 250 nits brightness is way enough for decent movie, Surfing and gaming experience. The 23.8" size is perfect for Desktop use (I come from an 17.3" Laptop Screen) and the IPS Panel makes the huge difference in eye care as well. The IPS Panel is the single biggest eye saver Technology of the last years which avoids the eyes to constantly find the sweet spot on an traditional non IPS Display as my Laptop Screen was. I coupled this Monitor to my older Laptop which is an wonderfull Setup – why throw away an 8 year old Laptop (Intel quad core, 8 GB RAM, SSD) when it still works perfectly and the Hardware is somewhat up to date still? For Youtube, movies, etc upgrade your old machines with an SSD and they will run for a decade more or so (avoiding electrowaste. No Need for the latest and greatest). I find myself being in front of this Monitor more without glasses which never would happened before with the traditional non IPS Laptop 17.3" Screen. Great Monitor but watch out for a step higher when the Price is minimal more. With 23.8" that is the Maximum to go with FHD (1920 x 1200) since at 24" Screens you are looking already for an 4K Monitor since the Pixels of this Monitor is only at 93 PPI while my Home Essentials Direct Fire tablet has an PPI of 182 IPS Display. So an 27" Monitor should have an 4K Screen while with this Monitor you get away still with 1080p. Close up I can see with the naked eye (without glasses) the individual Pixels. But yeah, for the Price you can buy just a new one if it Fails at 60000 hours (MTBF as per specs. An SSD should have an Main Time Before Failure rate of about 2 Million hours for comparison). Set up was easy basically PnP (plug and play). Adjustment Buttons on Screen are fine. I like the power on light as it glows a whitish glow. I hope this Monitor lasts me Long as we will see the durability. Plastic parts of the Monitor are of high Quality and seem not cheapish and fit and finish is excellent. Awesome thin bezel. Darks could be darker but thats an inherent characteristic of the IPS Technology. No light bleeding or back glowing on edges or stuff but the blacks could be a bit darker. Otherwise an huge improvement from the Laptop Screen I come from. Bigger Screen and you will probably not see the edges since I sit about 30 cm away from the Monitor. Watching movies I get at least 40 cm to 100 cm distance. If the durability holds up I recommend this Monitor. I bought it because it is supposed TUV Rheinland approved and tested for flicker free and Low Blue light. Whatch out for newer models, better features and other brands for similar Price range. But you will be happy with this Monitor even for light gaming. Buy a cheapish Laptop if you cant afford anything else (or upgrade an existent one) like an cheap Dell Inspiron 11 (use the Laptop as PC), connect it to this big Monitor with mouse an keyboard, throw in a decent Sound System and you have a full Desktop replacement set up which serves as full home Theater and Entertainment System as well as gaming rig (depending on the Laptop Hardware). If one part Fails, Switch it for another part and no Need to throw the whole Thing away. I recommend this Monitor. But for retail Price of 149$ look for better deals and more bang for your buck. I have been using a few of these in my home office setup for a couple weeks now and could not be happier. These replaced some more expensive ViewSonics of the same size. I will say that while the physical bezel is VERY thin, there is also some black space on the screen that isn't part of the actual display, so they aren't *quite* as thin as they appear when off. Still, for the price, I think these are the best value for basic productivity (office, visio, email, various chat apps.) I find that, for me, these monitors really help a LOT with the various viewing angles inerrant in a multi monitor setup. I notice only extremely minimal color shift when changing horizontal view angles and a significantly reduced change (vs previous panels) with vertical changes. This means I don't have to change the monitor tilt if, for instance, i want the desk at a bit of a different height. These wouldn't be great for anything that depends on high refresh rates, super-duper color accuracy, super low response times, etc. They are also only 1080, which is fine for me, and lots of laptops wouldn't like to power 3 1440 or 4k monitors anyhow.Anonymous
