20 Best Work From Home Clothes (Jan 2023 Update)

Mixed changes from items I got in 2020 and 2021. Waist slightly snugger. Hips slightly snugger with better look but not as relaxed if you need to move a lot. Legs more trim which is an improvement over the previous models which previously were voluminous. New fabric wrinkles less and is color looks better. Pair I got had a issue with the tailoring on the zipper flap but I think that was a glich on just that pair-hopefully. Still needs to be ironed if you want the best office look but much easier to iron and quick. All in all better for the office but not as relaxed as the older version. Looking forward to more purchases.TJWebster

Very disappointed. Material was thin and my ID wallet rubbed a whole in the rear pocket of two pair of pants. I wore one pair two times and the other pair three times. On the third pair the expandable waistband tore from inside after wearing the pants three times. I threw the pants in the trash because because I didn't save my invoice. Everything fit great when I received it and I wasn't expecting this to happened. I have worn Haggar pants for years and they have always been my first choice. I don't understand what went wrong with this batch of pants. I recently just purchased Haggar's cargo pants and love them. If someone from Haggar reads this, I'm sure you could look up my account to verify my purchases and credit me for the three pair of pants.Holy Moly

I absolutely hated these pants. As a bigger guy you already feel subconscious about being the biggest guy in the room. Add to that the typical unflattering fat guy look and that’s these pants, or at least what I feel the manufacturer felt when they sized these. Incredibly baggy and have no shape and make you look unkempt and sloppy. These pants aren’t a boost for your self esteem and were really just quite terrible. Im not asking for tight skinny pants. I’m obviously not that person or size, but just because I’m bigger that doesn’t mean I don’t want to wear something flattering and that doesn’t make me look bigger. I delayed buying pants hoping that I would lose enough weight to fit into the many pairs that I already had (had is the operative word because I regained my sensibility and gave perfectly good clothing to others who will use them now). After more than 70 years on this earth the chances of me returning to "fighting weight and shape" are slim; pardon the pun. So, I ordered a couple of pairs of Hagger slacks with the hidden expandable waist. To my surprise the hidden expandable waist is really hidden and serves the purpose well. I've since purchased almost every color available which should give you an idea of how pleased I am with these pants and manufacturer. I'm not a fan of polyester though and avoid those with a high polyester content. So, my only suggestion is that the fabric used be more cotton or wool than polyester. In fact, I'd prefer 100% cotton or wool. If you need a good pair of nice looking pants, try these!Top Cat 26

Ok, there's a *little* give, but very little. Calling it 'stretch' is, well, a stretch: the fact that there's no spandex should be a warning. The overall cut also feels off, small in the waist, big in the legs for the listed size. The one thing I'll have to give them though: they really are wrinkle free, came doubled up in a small bag, came out with zero wrinkles. So if that's you're after, they may be just what you're looking for. Returning the ones I received, not just due to the fit and lack of stretch but button hole of the waist isn't done right: it's nearly impossible to get the button through, an issue that should have been caught on inspection.Sam M

I bought a few shirts and the quality and service was great. I was ordering my shirts from another company before I found out about Joann. I airbrushed on them and the paint took to the material beautifully. I asked the customers how did their shirts look after washing them? They said great! Love my 2 sweatshirts although I won't be wearing the color Halcion out the door, I'll use this sweatshirt over my pj's when I get cold in the evening. I wear t-shirts and pj pants to bed so this will work. The Halcion looked like a nice plum kind of color on my computer but was I surprised when I received it. I talked with Live Chat, and they walked through the process for measuring the right size. I received my coveralls, which fit perfectly. I'm gonna purchase a second outfit. Only used coveralls for a week, but I like them. Zippered legs make it easier to taken/off with boots on. Pockets are well-positioned and deep. There are easy access ways to your pants pockets from slits near coverall pockets. The insulation quilting is described as medium weight and they are plenty warm in 40F weather. They weigh several pounds, and occupy some space when folded. They feel heavy and bulky when taking on/off, but less so while wearing them. I like them, but had difficulty with their shape and size. Had to order TALL-Large version because the trunk height of Reg-Large was too short. Needed height to more easily get into, and have mobility (reach upwards) while wearing. I’m 5-11, 34W, 42chest, 32Inseam. I would even consider going to REG-XL for increased height, but thought waist and chest would be too large. I recommend these warm but heavy coveralls if you prefer them to layering clothes beneath Uninsulated coveralls.Andy Bodog

These bn2802 in tarmac are not relaxed fit. I'm a 32×30 in other carhartt pants. I went up to 32×30 and after I wash them they're tight around my thighs and the crotch area seems too short. I work hard landscaping moving around alot and they bunch up my boxers all day. I had 2 khaki pairs that fit amazing and felt great all day. Well I went to buy this color and they're like a completely different pant…they're skinny jeans pretty much. I used to exclusively wear carhartt and I'm pretty sure they're going down hill fast. **CARHARTT do better, read these reviews and charge me $100 for a pair of pants…I don't care about the price just make better stuff. I think now that yall have a name you're cutting corners and screwing us that have been working hard in your gear for decades. My 2 centsJohn

Like a few others among the comments, I hoped these pants in the "Natural" fabric would work as a replacement for the long discontinued B-04 Double Front Painter Pants. They're not. Part of my disappointment is my own fault: I didn't notice that there was no hammer loop (good for rags) and no real tool pockets. They just don't seem designed for work. These are my frustrations: 1. The fabric is kind of stretchy, designed to flex with movement. But I don't like exerting against fabric and prefer a looser fit. Also the fabric in "Natural" is a bit translucent — when I wear dark color underwear it's sort of visible through the fabric. 2. The double fronts are advertised as being compatible with knee pads, but it's ridiculously difficult to insert them through the cleanout hole., and removing them is even worse. The Carhartt brand kneepads are designed to be left in the pants, which would mitigate the difficulty — but would also add $40 to the price of every pair of pants you want to set up. 3. I've already mentioned the lack of tool pockets/hammer loop, but the cell phone pocket is kind of small. Anything bigger than an iPhone 7/8 won't fit. 4. I bought a LOT of Carhartt gear over the years and they were always the standard for work wear. These days they're leaning more and more towards leisure wear, and that's OK if it's where the market is, but at least step up the game on the workwear. When the B-04s disappeared I switched to some innovative pants with built in kneepad pockets and tool pockets on the front of the thighs. That company was too small to compete and eventually folded — but the design was great. I guess it's too much to hope for a return of the B-04 pants, but it would be nice to see Carhartt innovate a little: dedicated kneepad pockets, thoughtful placement of tool pockets and realistically sized cell phone pockets would be great.RichardP

I will start by saying that I am a professional plumber who works mostly on multi family residential job sites so usually my pants take an absolute beating from glue, mud, sawdust, nails, sweat, and anything else you could imagine on a large jobsite. These pants have many features that quickly made them my favorite pair however I have found that their durability is not quite what I expected. Starting with the good: these pants fit and feel absolutely amazing. I purchased a size 35 which I really appreciate because it’s an in between size that isn’t always offered but it fits me just right. The material is soft and breathable, it feels good on my skin and isn’t terribly hot even when the weather is. The double front helps protect me from glue that I am always dripping on myself when working with pvc and cpvc which I do probably 75 percent of the time. It also helps protect my knees when I’m kneeling on the rough plywood subfloor or concrete. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the fit and feel of these pants. I also really love the pocket layout these pants have. I carry a knife, a pencil, and a marker with me 100 percent of the time and my favorite place to have them is in a carpenters pocket on the right side. These pants have a nice large pocket with a great cut on the right side that makes it so easy to fish out my pencil or knife without struggle. I also use the leg pocket on the left side all the time for tools I’m currently using such as my adjustable pliers or 6 way screw driver. I also really love the cut of the front pockets and how wide and low they come down which makes it so easy to get my hand in there and pull out my cell phone while I’m wearing my tool belt which is something I have had problems with on many pairs of work pants in the past. Lastly I really like the number of belt loops and their locations. I always wear a leather tape measure pouch and there is a spot in the belt loops on both sides up front that are a great place to lace in that pouch and they prevent it from sliding around or getting in my way too much. Now on to the bad: I have owned these pants for about 3 months and just recently the crotch decided it was going to rip out right in the front where everyone can see. I purchased these pants specifically because they have a crotch gusset and being 6 foot 4 inches tall I tend to have a problem with flexibility in that region. Come to find out I had the wrong expectation of these pants. Although the stitching is strong, the actual fabric of the pants just couldn’t hold up. Maybe that’s just the trade off for the nice comfortable “flex” fabric. Maybe if you are short or don’t do a ton of bending and squatting these are the pants for you, but they just don’t seem to be fit for what I demand of them and therefor I give them a disappointing 2 starsChristian

I think this machine can be fantastic and I think you can do great things with it. Obviously you have to learn how to use it. However my machine since day one has had an issue with its needle. It’s never aligned properly for self threading. The needle falls out during sewing. And as well the needle has broken three different times while sewing. And yet there are times this machine works beautifully so I am very confused and not sure what’s happening here so I’m contacting brother by email and hoping to get some response. Yes I’ve done troubleshooting and watched tons and tons of YouTube‘s but this machine has an issue with it’s needle area. I expect that once I get help and hope that I do – I will be completely satisfied with this machine.Phyllis K

I bought this machine used. I had never sewn before but wanted to make masks. I worked in a place where everyone had to wear a mask. I made and gave away over 850 masks last year. I have learned to sew and make custom pajamas and robes. My next goal is embroidery. I retired and have a new grandbaby and this machine has allowed me to monogram all of her baby clothes. I am getting ready to by a new machine and give this to my daughter so she can enjoy sewing with me. This is a great beginner to advanced machine for anyone.Tfiellin

10/10 would NOT recommend. I attached pics since reviews are USELESS without them…Long time carhartt customer. My recent purchases have all been defective (Blair jeans, long sleeve logo shirt and this pocket tee). As you can see below, the stitching within the pocket is compromised. The jeans, despite being incredibly loose, ripped in half in the butt while I was standing still in my kitchen (I wish I was kidding) and the logo tee is very thin, tight and quality appears different from the same shirt that I ordered about 8 months prior. I am 5'8, 176 lbs and purchased a Large in this tee. Slightly big and could've gone with a medium, but my issue is with how poorly made it is. I would not recommend buying these shirts until carhartt can get their quality together. I work for hours outside in single digit temps with horses and for years carhartt gear was my go to. I'm not sure if the quality is now compromised since the company has been popularized with people in the suburbs and young people but please fix it. Carhartt, a lot of your long time, hardworking outdoor customers are wondering what the hell is going on with your company lately…These shirts are on sale for $8.50 for a reason, yall.Gabriella

I noticed a few of the reviews here reference leggings or mens pants – This is a womans shirt. I'm not sure if carhartt is being intentionally deceitful with these 5 star ratings for "midweight pants" even though this is a womens logo t shirt or what. Quality control – Whats up? I thought I left a review, included with pictures a few months back but now don't even see it. Carhartts quality has taken a turn for the worst. I work on a farm and ride horses 6 days out of the week in pretty cold weather. I noted that when I last bought these 3 shirts they all had issues except for 1. Small holes and there was an issue with the pocket lining, it wasn't even halfway stitched, creating a 1/2 inch or so weird gap in the pocket. I have contacted carhartt via email three times now and have not heard back in a span of nearly 3 months. I'm not sure if they're mass producing out of another country or something now as carhartts popularity rises with younger people and those that like that "yellow stones" show but you are losing loyal customers who've spent thousands over the years on your products. I have since switched to purchasing my clothing from Duluth and Stetson and have no issues with quality. These shirts alone are not the only defective products i've received from carhartt. 2/10, I sadly no longer recommend.cowponyqueen

I bought the Carhartt Bartlett Jacket, and am super happy with it, as my "heavy duty" outer layer. I wanted to get a Detroit jacket and loved the styles I saw on YouTube and various websites. The only thing is that style was the OLDER style, with the vertical pocket, waist straps, and different colored collar ( and WITHOUT THE COVER FLAP AT THE BACK). Even right now I'm about to purchase this inferior jacket… and I can't do it. I can't bring myself to buy it even though it just came back in stock. All I have to say is it is Carhartt, they have no trouble moving merchandise and selling product, but with the recentness of using lower quality materials and moving factories out of the USA, and changing their style for the worse? Please bring back the original J01/J001/J97 design. This is not a Detroit jacket. The quality of this jacket is nowhere near the quality of the original. If I were Carhartt, I would be ashamed to call this a Detroit. The canvas is far thinner and less durable, the jacket is not tapered at the waist, the pocket zipper gets stuck and is difficult to use while wearing gloves, the barrel cuffs at the wrist fasten differently than the original, the arms are now tapered, the quilted lining is filmsy and tacky and, it is not lined throughout the inside of the arms, the collar is no longer stiff and sharp, and the color of the jacket is more red than Carhartt brown. What is more iconic than the original Detroit jacket? When you think of Carhartt, you think of clothing that will stand the test of time, made with quality, durability, and affordability in mind; this is exactly what the original Detroit was all about. For decades this jacket has been the poster child of Carhartt; and for good reason. Now, this jacket lacks everything that I loved in the original; it is not durable, the quality is cheap, it does not look good, and somehow this it is more expensive than the original. I'm not sure the reasonings for this overhaul; all I know is, why fix something that isn't broke?MichaelP

Not sure what Carhartt is thinking changing something so iconic and calling it a Detroit. Customers aren't oblivious, we can tell the difference. Please bring back the design, fit and quality of the classic original J01 / J001 and J97. This new "detroit" has lighter, flimsier fabric. It lacks the tapered body and wide shoulders of the original detroit. It has pointless pleats on the elbows of the jacket which are a wear point. The waist snaps have been removed and a strange tail flap added in the back. The lining is way, way cheaper than the original and starts sagging early on. The corduroy collar is no longer the darker brown but a lighter reddish brown. The overall quality is nothing compared to the classic. The classic could easily last a decade of hard work but it seems the new version is built for product obsolescence.Sean

Anyone who owned a pair of the older version ones would know what I'm saying. The old ones fit better, thicker fabric, snugger fit. The new version are thinner and aren't slim fit. They just don't hold their shape. I have a pair in size M and they look like balloon pants after a few wears. The 4 year old pair I have are faded, but fit like they did the day I bought them. Design: loving the look of the Nike tech tracksuits. The long zip pocket is LEVELS and the reflective strips go really well with the overall design. You can wear it for exercising or just casual wear so you can't go wrong. Sizing: I ordered a large but they definitely come up big, if you want a more gym/slim/muscle fit. Definitely size down. And it doesn't make fit like leggings neither, it still fits comfortable with some space to move. Insulation: Very warm. I was surprised by how warm they kept me in cold weather. I normally have to wear a jacket on top of my tracksuits to avoid the cold, but this one did the job just fine, paired with the Nike tech hoodie of course. The only down side was my pair came with a few manufacturers errors, the bottoms had cuts in the upper thigh area and missing stitching. I'm gauging that it was a one off as I've never had such problems with previous purchases, (could've been a last pair/return etc). Washing: Be very careful when washing them, I advise using cold washes and if you put them in the dryer, make sure it's no more than half an hour as the reflective tags come off. I had this issue with the tracksuit bottoms and hoodie. Refund: JD were very helpful with the refund process and I got a full refund within a 2 weeks. I would DEFINITELY buy again!Ebenezer

I wore this shirt under a light windbreaker for a half marathon, during which it rained about a third of the time (including some heavy downpours towards the beginning). The shirt remained comfortable throughout the run, and didn't cause any chafing or discomfort despite the prolonged damp conditions. had to really pull the neck hole over my head and it's tight around your neck. I'm normally an S but got M for a tad looser fit but the neck hole is tight. The fabric is like a strange plastic sheet, the hem is rough and irritates your skin. What in the world is this? It doesn't really stretch either. I've worn Dickies for years. I recently bought 3 pair, two 874 Flex, and 1, pair 874 Original. Dickies has really strange belt loops. On the 874 Originals, the belt loops are spaced every 3 inches, and are so tight, I actually have to sit down and thread flat belt through the loops. My belt from Walmart, branded Dickies, is almost too wide to fit. It's 1.25 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick. Dickies seems to think a work belt is 1 inch wide, like some old dress belts. It's difficult to thread the extra end back through the loops. The belt loops are better on the 874 Flex pants. It's difficult to get your hands into the pockets if you are wearing any work glove. And the zipper pull is almost impossible to grasp it's so small. Also I had to buy a size larger than normal.McMurry61

When I go to buy new ones there seem to be none like I bought previously but there are new ones I can't gather enough information from your website to judge correctly. The last four orders I bought from your website I either sent back of donated away. Specifically, this latest occasion, your pictures on the website did not show the waistband in enough detail. I bought them anyway because the name of them sounded correct. Once they arrived I learned the FLEX in the name does not refer to the old elastic band in the waistband which you no longer make for some reason. Double disappointment. I will figure it out because Dickies are perfect work pants. And, they are stylish enough I can leave the jobsite and meet with customers or have a business lunch without having to change. They are also good for skiing or in bad weather for short periods of time. I wear them for everything I do in work or play.Canaccioza

The pants are comfortable and thick providing great protection while working outside on the farm or on a construction project. They are much better quality than the non-USA made Carhartt pants. Worth the extra cost. The black is a great option to hide oil stains. They work well with a belt and clip-on suspenders. Right side leg pocket works well for holding cell phone. The top pockets hold up very well to pocket clip ware. Very strong material inside the pockets as well.Daniel

Bought these after trying on a pair my friend had. I’m a woman and was looking for good wide leg work pant. I hold my weight more in my stomach and not in my hips or legs too much, and these fit me perfectly / don’t have balloon legs or butt sag! I might buy them in another color because honestly they are better than any women’s pants I’ve bought in the last 5 years (durable, thick material, lots of pockets, affordable). I bought a size up in the waist measurement and I’m glad I did because I hate when I’m moving around and the waist of my pants are digging into my stomach. Nice pants. They look nice but aren't as strong as I hoped. I've been wearing holes through the knees in a few months. I don't wear knee pads but if I used the pads that fit in the pants they would still wear fast. This is just keeping up maintenance on my property, woodwork and repairing my vehicles. I hoped to get more time out of these but they are still stronger then most. I read people saying they have pants last them years. They must not do any physical on the ground work with them. I have been buying my work pants from WHBM for years. Loved them! But not excited about new pair. Same material but fit seems like curvy is not a thing anymore. New designer? New manufacturer? What gives. Like most women I toggle in my weight and loved WHBM for work pants. Sleek…beautiful…fit just right and accessorized my curves…Of note: I am a woman…a real woman…my variance is 8-12…mostly 10, with a 6-8 waist, but regardless always had a great fit with WBHM. Just got these pants yesterday. Mid-rise– I so not think so ): These pants in a size 2P had a front rise of 9 1/2 inches and a rear rise of 14 1/4 inches. This is not a petite mid rise pant. The fit was large in the waist, too long in the rise and 2 inches too long in the inseam. Inseam measurement is not a problem as that is easily adjusted but rise and waist that is another story. I like the way the top fits and looks but it is slightly shorter in length to my other scrub tops. It comes untucked easily, it is definitely not a longer length as advertised. If you are short or don’t wear your shirt tucked in, it would be fine. Otherwise I wish it was a couple of inches longer or available in a tall version.Matt B

Good scrub shirts! Only have 2 suggestions: more pockets, and I wish all of the shirts had the elastic loop on the shoulder. Only some of them had the elastic loop, which I use for my name badge. Otherwise great scrub tops and i like the color options. Maybe patterns?Julian

I wear Under Armour tshirts all the time. I wear medium. This shirt is way too small. Tight as ever. I washed it before I tried it on so I can't take it back. Big Bummerdbagone

I like training clothes to be fitted but not tight. Most brands have baggy arms and too much material around the waist. I find this the best one I’ve tried (I’ve tried a few), fitted around the arms and chest but doesn’t ride up when doing overhead gym exercises and is a good fit around waist ie not tight or loose. I get small and am 5’11 and 76kg.Gym 123

I bought this shirt for my husband for walking. He really likes the fit as a lot of the shirts he has tried in this type of shirt have been more of a slim fit with shorter sleeves. This shirt has a bit longer sleeves and more of a loose fit so he was very pleasedBarbara P.
