After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level. Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly. The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect. When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense. The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces. It's been decades since I've owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617
I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark
It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC. Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.Szluski

Remote workers depend on our headsets to make a living. It's critical that they work on every call, every time. I had an older Plantronics W740, the battery was dying, and the headset kept wanting to fall off my head if I didn't hold my head perfectly still. I did some research and ended up calling Headset Advisors and spoke to William. He was great, the first thing he did was to list all my requirements and needs. We initially picked another headset with over the ear pads, but I still liked the headset lifter for my VOIP line and eventually went back to the Plantronics. This is a GREAT headset, it works perfectly with MS Teams and Zoom, as well as pairs with my cellphone and even works on the VOIP line. One headset to rule them all, LOL. This headset is beefier than the W740 I had before, has a longer battery life and feels better on my head. If you're looking for a headset that meets all these requirements, you can't go wrong with this. I also highly recommend Headset Advisors; they really know their products and did a great job helping me.B.S.
I bought this headset because of the many great reviews. Pro side is the audio quality is top notch – has great sound stage, balanced bass (a bit on the strong side but not overpowering) I enjoy listening music on it when I'm not on call. The connection is seamless between mobile and PC. The motion sensor to pause/ mute works extremely well. Design looks sleek and professional. ANC is good. The cons, mic performance is so-so, and the strange thing is when I record on Voice memo connected via bluetooth on my mobile I sound extremely soft in the playback, this also happens when I had voice chat on Line app, people complaint I'm almost inaudible. However all works fine during webex meeting when connected via BT600 on laptop. While the voice is crisp clear there is noticeable reverb as if the air knocks off the mic. Overall the voice just don't feel as stable solid compares to wired headset. The earmuff is slightly bigger compares to other on-ear headsets so they're supposed to seal your ears to block out some noise. The cushion is also very soft. It's very comfortable ONLY if you sit in an aircond room or use it on colder days! Please consider changing the centre part to fabric as the full leather piece would heat up ears so quickly. It's really hard to ignore the heat no matter how comfortable it is! Overall I find myself not using this headset as much because of the noticeable reverb effect and earmuffs heating up too quickly. Love the design, very comfortable Initially couldn’t hear myself speak, so muffled sound when i walk with headphones on. i.e. ambient noise was initially disappointing. Which meant i wasn’t sure if i was shouting or too quiet, as couldn’t hear myself properly when talking when headset is on… Then I figured out that turning on the noise cancelling mode, helped this. Main problem, and surprisingly given price, is that I have had on/off connectivity issues with the USB and bluetooth, so sometimes the connectivity between MAC and headset breaks, and my Macbook speakers end up on (to the annoyance of anyone sharing the office) which means people can’t hear me very well, then the connectivity flicked back to bluetooth. But unreliable. So using USB (so far so good, but in the past this has been an issue too) Bottom line – they’re great quality, especially listening to music and on calls. Also for noise cancelling. Connectivity is the main problem between MAC and headset, can be a little dodgy.

I wanted to use these for long enough to be able to give the best review possible. I've been using these for over a year now. I've got some pro's and con's. It may be a long review but it will be worth it in the end. Long story short, buy them. I'm an insurance agent and spend every day, 8 to 10 hours a day on the phone. I use my computer for VOIP phone calls. A quality headset is very important. I've used several kinds over the years including Jabra's, Turtle Beach, Bose, Beats, etc. I've always had more complaints regarding these various brands than what made them worth it. They were very expensive and not built strong enough or reliable enough for the cost. The value just wasn't there. I was in a pinch when my Jabra's broke just over a year ago and needed something that moment. I went to Walmart and saw these so I figured, hey, fifty bucks, I'll give them a shot for emergency use. I've used them solely ever since. I prefer on-ear headphones so these are great. The ear pieces are soft and squishy but still hold their form after long long use. They don't break down like so many others. The JLab Go work headphones also have a very comfortable headband that is cushioned. I love the fact that the boom microphone can be rotated to be used on the right or left side and that there is volume buttons and a mute button. The fact that there is a red light at the end of the microphone that let's you know you are muted is a life saver and has saved me from some embarrassing situations. Now, that's not to say that these are fault free. There are some places that I wish were much more reinforced. Overall, they are well built but there are some areas that could be improved. The biggest disadvantage is over lots of use, there are a couple points that are high stress areas that can and will break over time. Right above the ear pieces where it swivels and connects to the headband, I've had issues with them breaking. Now, here's the best part, the one pair that had this happen, they immediately made it right. They gave me a credit for the value and I had the option to use it towards whatever pair I wanted and would just have to pay the difference. What did I do? I purchased the exact same pair because I am THAT impressed with them. I can hear my customers clearly and they can hear me clearly so these are wonderful. The material on the ear pieces is soft and doesn't hurt my ears. I haven't had them break down and flake like my Jabras did. The foam is still plenty firm and sits on my ears exactly as they should. I've recommended these to MANY of my other agents and friends and even some of my customers. I can be confident that charging this 2 times a week get's me through the work week and I'm not going to lose power half way through a conversation about someone's safety. Give these a shot. I am always on teleconferences and have an external system plugged into my laptop that work provided. It has to be an Aux/USB system because bluetooth is disabled on our computers for security reasons. I had hoped that the headphone would have more functionality when plugged into the aux port (volume +/- and other features) but it is a passive device when used with the Aux cable. The mute button on the side is the only button that retains functionality. I must say that I like that it is a 'real' button and not a touch one since it is a much more tactile response. That combined with the mute indicator light on the boom mic (which does still light up in Aux mode), gives a clear indication which mode you are in. All that being said, I didn't really feel that I could knock the JLab GO Work headset because it does work perfectly as a Bluetooth headset with my phone, and it didn't promise any additional functionality for Aux usage (that was just my hope). Also, they are extremely comfortable for long periods of time, I can hear others very clearly (though these are just OK for music, but can do in a pinch), and others say that I come through clear and strong. I wanted these since I am now in a management position and didn't want to be just yelling into the external device so they could hear me because now I will sometimes be talking about my co-workers and need to be a bit more low key since we have very thin walls around here. They are great for this usage because I can speak normally, and the people on the other side hear me fine and only I can hear their response. I haven't really tested the 45 hour battery life claim since they are using Aux all the time, but the instructions do say that the battery is still used in Aux mode to power the microphone. I'm betting that I'm going to get significantly more time with these than 45 hours with only the mic using the battery! For the price, these are a great set of work headphones, and are probably even better if your work allows you to use the Bluetooth function of your computer (I understand why it is that way, just wish they could figure out a way to secure BT better).Wraith
I purchased this headset for my home office as I'm on a lot of conference calls and have to move around some times, so a wired headset wasn't going to work. The reason for the 3 star review is due to the first faulty set I got. It would pair fine with the Bluetooth on my laptop but would cut out and could not recover when this happened. Out of 10 calls, it cut out on 7 of them and the other person's voice would become choppy and impossible to understand. Once it got into this mode, it could never recover and even if you were right beside the computer (distance not being an issue), the choppiness would not go away. I had to take this set back to BestBuy who swapped them out immediately and the 2nd set is performing as advertised. I've used it for a few calls and so far so good. The distance you can go on this headset before it starts getting choppy will depend on how many walls and corners are between the headset and the computer with the Bluetooth signal. I have a fairly open area with just a few walls and I'm able to get pretty far – about 60' with one corner. They're fairly comfortable to wear for my conference calls which are between 30 – 60 minutes normally. I wouldn't say they're OK to wear continuously for many hours at a time as they do fit snuggly over the ears. I also wear glasses and they begin to hurt behind the ears a bit after multiple hours, and I don't have a wide head so it's not stretching the headset bands at all. These do not have noise cancellation so they rely on the foam pads and a snug fit to keep the external noise down. I do like the lighted mute indicator on the speaker mic as this is easy to see and you know when you're muted or not. If your camera is on as well, the other participants will see that you're muted too. I haven't gotten a chance to fully test the battery longevity yet as I bought these right before the holidays and didn't have to go on a lot of calls. Overall if it wasn't for the first pair that had so many connectivity issues, I would rate it at a 4 or potentially 5 stars. I had an older Plantronics W740, the battery was dying, and the headset kept wanting to fall off my head if I didn't hold my head perfectly still. I did some research and ended up calling Headset Advisors and spoke to William. He was great, the first thing he did was to list all my requirements and needs. We initially picked another headset with over the ear pads, but I still liked the headset lifter for my VOIP line and eventually went back to the Plantronics. This is a GREAT headset, it works perfectly with MS Teams and Zoom, as well as pairs with my cellphone and even works on the VOIP line. One headset to rule them all, LOL. This headset is beefier than the W740 I had before, has a longer battery life and feels better on my head. If you're looking for a headset that meets all these requirements, you can't go wrong with this. Pro side is the audio quality is top notch – has great sound stage, balanced bass (a bit on the strong side but not overpowering) I enjoy listening music on it when I'm not on call. The connection is seamless between mobile and PC. The motion sensor to pause/ mute works extremely well. Design looks sleek and professional. ANC is good. The cons, mic performance is so-so, and the strange thing is when I record on Voice memo connected via bluetooth on my mobile I sound extremely soft in the playback, this also happens when I had voice chat on Line app, people complaint I'm almost inaudible. However all works fine during webex meeting when connected via BT600 on laptop. While the voice is crisp clear there is noticeable reverb as if the air knocks off the mic. Overall the voice just don't feel as stable solid compares to wired headset. The earmuff is slightly bigger compares to other on-ear headsets so they're supposed to seal your ears to block out some noise. The cushion is also very soft. It's very comfortable ONLY if you sit in an aircond room or use it on colder days! Please consider changing the centre part to fabric as the full leather piece would heat up ears so quickly. It's really hard to ignore the heat no matter how comfortable it is! Overall I find myself not using this headset as much because of the noticeable reverb effect and earmuffs heating up too quickly. Main problem, and surprisingly given price, is that I have had on/off connectivity issues with the USB and bluetooth, so sometimes the connectivity between MAC and headset breaks, and my Macbook speakers end up on (to the annoyance of anyone sharing the office) which means people can’t hear me very well, then the connectivity flicked back to bluetooth. But unreliable. So using USB (so far so good, but in the past this has been an issue too) Bottom line – they’re great quality, especially listening to music and on calls. Also for noise cancelling. Connectivity is the main problem between MAC and headset, can be a little dodgy.

I purchased these as I was tired of all of the office background noise coming through during web meetings. This pair of headphones stops the background noise for both myself, but more importantly for my clients on the other end. During my testing there was a LOT of background noise and none of it came through. The overall build quality and comfort are excellent. I would easily recommend these. I will add that I am a glasses wearer and after 3 or 4 hours on the phone they do start to give my ears some fatigue where it presses against my glasses. Not sure if the over ear 85 would be better at eliminating this pain but after 20 years of remote working I've yet to find a headset that does a good job at this. This is probably a defective unit but Headset Advisor Support was amazing. I am glad I bought it here at HeadsetAdvisor. Second good thing is the quality is sound is amazing and ANC for speakers is also good. Now the cons: (1) The main reason I bought this Headset was for the Mic's noise cancellation. I don't want my work colleagues to put up with all the noises at end/home like Baby screams, TV in the living room, Street Cars, Wife's phone calls, even my key board or washroom faucets etc but it failed miserably. They can hear everything from my side and even worse is my voice was so bad that they can't understand at all. Updated firmware and restarted and reseted everything multiple times and made at least 50 calls from every App on my phone for over a period of week and all were bad. I really hope it's faulty unit and Headset Advisor is planning to replace it. (2) When placed on the neck the headset ear cushions are pointed outwards, What a weird design. Come-on Jabra, no one pointed this out when you were designing this? (3) Headset is not stable on my head. It can easily fall when your head is not straight. I believe this is the issue with all on-ear headset as compared to over the ear ones. Anyway, this is really bad experience but my cheap TechNet Headset which was reviewed by Drew is working like a charm.Ryan
Bought this as an upgrade from the Evolve 65 (not 2) and unfortunately its overall a downgrade, despite being constructed very nicely with premium feeling materials and a great build quality – I wanted to love it! There are 2 x major issues: Firstly, the mic is right side only, whereas the previous model could swing both ways (I prefer on the left side). Maybe not a deal breaker for some, but I just found it constantly annoying. Secondly, the previous model has a hard headband which gradually built up pressure on the top of my head and become uncomfortable after a few hours. This model has attempted to fix that with a nice soft silicon pad, however the overall more solid build (and thus weight) and stronger materials mean that between the clamping force and extra weight it's mde it worse! I struggled to wear this headset for more than 30 mins at a time. Big sad. I also have an Engage 75 which is almost perfect, but it is tied to the dock for Bluetooth and PC connectivity, so you can't really use it for travelling. Still chasing the holy grail of headsets… Looking at the Evolve 75 it looks like it might suffer the same issues as the Evolve2 65.Julian C

I purchased these as I was tired of all of the office background noise coming through during web meetings. This pair of headphones stops the background noise for both myself, but more importantly for my clients on the other end. During my testing there was a LOT of background noise and none of it came through. The overall build quality and comfort are excellent. I would easily recommend these. I will add that I am a glasses wearer and after 3 or 4 hours on the phone they do start to give my ears some fatigue where it presses against my glasses. Not sure if the over ear 85 would be better at eliminating this pain but after 20 years of remote working I've yet to find a headset that does a good job at this. I feel it's more of a glasses problem as opposed to a headset problem.Eric M.
This is probably a defective unit but Headset Advisor Support was amazing. I am glad I bought it here at HeadsetAdvisor. Second good thing is the quality is sound is amazing and ANC for speakers is also good. Now the cons: (1) The main reason I bought this Headset was for the Mic's noise cancellation. I don't want my work colleagues to put up with all the noises at end/home like Baby screams, TV in the living room, Street Cars, Wife's phone calls, even my key board or washroom faucets etc but it failed miserably. They can hear everything from my side and even worse is my voice was so bad that they can't understand at all. Updated firmware and restarted and reseted everything multiple times and made at least 50 calls from every App on my phone for over a period of week and all were bad. I really hope it's faulty unit and Headset Advisor is planning to replace it. (2) When placed on the neck the headset ear cushions are pointed outwards, What a weird design. Come-on Jabra, no one pointed this out when you were designing this? (3) Headset is not stable on my head. It can easily fall when your head is not straight. I believe this is the issue with all on-ear headset as compared to over the ear ones. Anyway, this is really bad experience but my cheap TechNet Headset which was reviewed by Drew is working like a charm.Ryan
Bought this as an upgrade from the Evolve 65 (not 2) and unfortunately its overall a downgrade, despite being constructed very nicely with premium feeling materials and a great build quality – I wanted to love it! There are 2 x major issues: Firstly, the mic is right side only, whereas the previous model could swing both ways (I prefer on the left side). Maybe not a deal breaker for some, but I just found it constantly annoying. Secondly, the previous model has a hard headband which gradually built up pressure on the top of my head and become uncomfortable after a few hours. This model has attempted to fix that with a nice soft silicon pad, however the overall more solid build (and thus weight) and stronger materials mean that between the clamping force and extra weight it's mde it worse! I struggled to wear this headset for more than 30 mins at a time. Big sad. I also have an Engage 75 which is almost perfect, but it is tied to the dock for Bluetooth and PC connectivity, so you can't really use it for travelling. Still chasing the holy grail of headsets… Looking at the Evolve 75 it looks like it might suffer the same issues as the Evolve2 65.Julian C

After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level. Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly. The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect. When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense. The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces. It's been decades since I've owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617
I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark
It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC. Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.Szluski

Over ear headphones are something I've wanted for a while, after buying a pair of in ear headphones I quickly realised that due to issues with my ears and sinuses, in ear ones simply don't suit me long term and quickly become uncomfortable. When receiving my Bose headphones I was excited to get them out to try as it's always something I wanted due to the quality and reputation they hold. Unpacking the headphones the attention to detail to ensure they arrived to me in perfect condition was clear to see with foam packaging in and around them to ensure no damage occurs. The case that comes with the headphones is sturdy with useful pouches to store the extra cables that come with it for charging and connectivity. The headphones are nice and simple to connect using the Bose Music app, but my only downside about them when first receiving them war that there was no EQ to adjust sound settings. This thankfully was something that was added via a firmware update approx 2 weeks afterwards. The fit of the headphones is great, really comfortable and for someone with larger ears, perfectly goes over the top, whereas some I've tried before don't. They're easy to adjust to my head and don't create any discomfort. The positioning of the buttons on the side are easy to use and positioned easily to reach, without needing to see where they are. The noise cancelling on and off works well and creates an underside experience. I use them for various takes but one of the main uses is for gaming which provides Crystal clear audio and helps me pinpoint the location of sounds within game. Battery life so far has been great with me only having to charge it once after my initial charge and I use them a lot.Adam
I’ve been trying to enjoy these and for most genres they’re just fine. The truth is when I bought these I was looking for a pair of can headphones that would give me back my ideal metal listening experience, I prefer metal in a headphone of some sort bc I want to feel like it’s IN my brain lol. These will never give you that experience. Let’s face it, most metal heads are blasting their music and these headphones will never give you that feeling. I wish I’d returned them and gotten the sennheisers i really wanted. Most mainstream (available at your local Best Buy or retail store) are geared to mainstream music (sorry not sorry) or geared heavily toward a hip hop or rap bias. The equalizer for these is.. pretty lousy. I mean, don’t expect to customize much of anything, it is the most basic equalizer I’ve ever seen. Because these are noise canceling closed back cans you never get the *sensation* of high volume which leads to you turning them up as loud as they’ll go and it still doesn’t *seem* loud AT ALL while in actuality it is very loud and this can VERY easily lead to hearing damage bc you’re seeking out the sensation of loudness and never getting it. Some good things I can say is that these are very comfortable and light and fit my head very well, I’m a smol person and many just flop around on me. Also every other genre I’ve listened to sounds great, I’m a metal head but I’m also a bluegrass musician and bluegrass sounds wonderful, so do goth genres and podcasts. But the whole purpose for me was for metal. I want to hear ALL OF IT.: and again let’s face it, most other genres aren’t so complex that they require headphones but metal is best heard through a great pair of headphones. Oh, something else that really bugs me, for whatever reason these headphones don’t allow you to control iphone volume and headphones volume separately and this somehow has also impacted the volume on my Bluetooth speakers and when I get a text the Bluetooth speaker will suddenly reset to its normal volume. So all in all, if you’re a casual listener who needs to drown out outside noise while traveling or shopping they’re great, if you’re an audiophile or metal head, look elsewhere. UNPACKING – On opening the carry case, I was impressed by the compact design of the headphones and the visual style of the headphones. clearly they have been designed to look good and be compact for transport. HANDLING – Handling resulted in some disappointment for me, these creaked, groaned and clacked as I unfolded and handled them, given the headphones style and brand, I expected a bit more refinement, unfortunately they just felt cheap and very creaky plastic did not help with that , however, from a design standpoint they do look good. WEARING – These felt great on my head, they were light, gave a good head grip and were very comfortable on the ears from the pressure they applied, the padding on the earmuffs was soft but not quite wide enough to not trap my ears. APP – The app detected the headphones as soon as i paired them , it was quick simple and easy to modify the settings of them, but i have to admit disappointment in how light the feature set of the app was , the lack of an equalizer that can be stored on the headphones internal memory and mediocre "smart" capability made the app somewhat pointless. SOUND QUALITY – Given the purpose of this product to be comfortable and "quiet", they meet this purpose in the sense that they aren't particularly loud, however, as a media consuming device, they do have decent sound quality on par with my midlevel quality in-ear headphones, however, the lack of a suitable equalizer doesn't help for tuning to my preference. NOISE CANCELLING – A huge disappointment, I have a generic pair of headphones that is almost identical to this pair in design and feature set which performs on par with these, I am truly disappointed by noise suppression which given the marketing, is one of the primary selling points of these headphones. CONCLUSION – if you want comfort and decent sound quality, these definitely will meet your needs. If you want value for money, these are most certainly not recommended. Given the disappointing quality, I think the pricetag is brand influenced, not justified by the product quality or feature set.

I get quite excited when I get a chance to talk about these headphones. I’ll explain why. As a female with smaller ear holes it is very difficult finding headphones or earbuds which fit properly. Now add this with someone who has extreme no sensitivity and someone who adores music… I really was looking for something that would blow everything else out of the waters. Now my favourite earbud headphones have always been the old-school and OG Apple headphones are ones with the wire. To be honest those always stayed intact the longest and provided great audio quality. I would from time to time use MKG headphones which were also great but also didn’t have a lot of money to spend on a really good quality headphone. My first Bose headphones were the QC 35i I believe and those were great. They were comfortable to wear during long flights which I had to take frequently for school (yes money was still very tight) and they lasted a while. I probably would still have those now if they were not stolen. I thought point I decided to do some research and looked at the Sony‘s and these ones. Granted I had not tried the Sony headphones and compare them to these. I did a lot of research, wait out the pros and cons and went to head and bought the 700s. Man was it the best decision I’ve ever made with tech. These headphones are great in the following ways: 1. The band that goes over your head is extremely comfortable. For women, putting our hair in ponytails or buns or I’ve been anyway cause there’s a lot of pressure and hair damage on your head especially where is the location of ponytails usually are the High ones at least. These headphones have a very soft silicone type material at the top of the band which creates a very comfortable landing of the band on one’s head. Because it’s soft it goes around the contours of a persons head and I’ve honestly I’ve had these on for 12+ hours and have not had complaints or really feel them on at all. 2. The noise cancelling on these headphones is absolutely impeccable. I cannot stress this part enough. As someone who has extreme noise sensitivity and a lot of deadlines these headphones have been a savior. Believe it or not I often turn the headphones on and don’t even listen to anything because the noise cancellation on these headphones are that good. To add you can customize the noise cancelling effect either through one button on the left side of the ear or through the app or through the voice command which ranges from 0 to 10 I believe. They seriously block out everything and have been the reason why I am now on my third pair (my first pair was taken without as by my ex but my second pair I gifted to my brother because I knew he’d appreciate them). 3. The headphones themselves are touched based with the exception of the on off, Bluetooth, noise cancellation buttons. Where you want to turn the volume up you just simply slide your finger up alongside the right side of the cuff in the volume goes up. It definitely gives an easier user interface where it’s not too complicated and simplistic enough for anyone to be able to use. 4. I really enjoy the design on these headphones. Their light years ahead of its time and despite hearing some buzz that a new version is coming out which I won’t lie I’m quite excited about, I truly truly forsee myself using these until they are no longer working which I hope never happens design is headphones is very sleek, structured yet again very simplistic it was made for comfort but also make a statement while maintaining its functionality. 5. Now the most important thing would be the sound quality… There are two components to this part. The first is the app. The bus app that connected to the headphones also allows you to adjust your base and everything else depending on your preference. Someone who enjoys a wide range of music and also just a general music lover, voice and sound quality is impeccable you hear music how it was meant to be heard. Second where I am using the headphones during a call I have always been told from the person on the receiving end that they haven’t heard crisper and clear voice quality from someone using headphones As much as with these. I’ve also been told that these headphones reduce a lot of background noise that might arise when in busier areas which is great. 6. My only want with these headphones Is that I wish they were trackable given their price. Other those products can be tracked through the bose app. I do wish that these had that functionality. Despite this anyone who I’ve introduced these headphones to have been mind blown as to how amazing they are. I absolutely love these headphones which totally proves to me you get what you pay for. I got these as cyber Monday deal 2 years ago, I was happy to be able to get them for $100 off. Not only are these great for listening to music but these are also awesome for talking on the phone. The noise canceling technology also transfers to background noise that is removed when talking to others on the phone, so these are also perfect for any home office. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear any background noise on your end as well. These have the sound quality that one would expect from Bose. These are also very comfortable to wear and can be paired to your TV for perfect enjoyment without disturbing others. These can also be used with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assist with the touch of a button. It also has buttons for Bluetooth pairing and noise canceling presets. Touch technology on the right ear cup can be used to answer calls, volume control, skip ahead or back. A definite good buy for anyone who loves excellent sound quality paired with comfort and ease of use. These are very sleek and have a good quality feel to them. Compatible with Dolby Atmos so this can be used for the current maximum sound quality available, for a perfect immersion sound quality experience. A strong recommend if someone wants to pay extra for awesome quality. Comes with a durable zipper case which also stores the included charging and wired cables. Bose is famous for its sounds quality, which still amazing for this headphone. Headphone comfort, noise cancellation and voice pick up is amazing. How come a 3 star then? The user experience and interaction is just bad. Let's talk about the good stuff first. I bought this mainly for home meeting. With kids at home, able to have great passive/active noise cancellation and voice pick up is essential. I tested this and have conference call in the airport. I basically don't need to mute myself and there's little to none background noise picked up. 2. Versatile look. I choose Bose 700 UC over the competitors because of its sounds quality and also versatile look so I can put it on outdoor as well. 3. Wired option. I like the idea able to have wired option if headphone ever run out of battery. Now the User Experience part … Diaster, the only word I can think of. 1. Bose app requirement. This means headphone has to sync with the phone, which I don't have a problem about but there is no button for device switch. Bose website indicate either manually switch device from my phone's app or pause sound from current device and play sound from the other device to switch. However both option is not user friendly at all. 2. Shortcut option is limited. I like the touch botton for headphone with gesture enable but none of the shortcut option is useful for me. Why do I need a button for Alexa if I can voice it? Able to manually switch device is more important for me but no such option available. 3. Button locations. Maybe it's just me, I always trigger either the noise cancellation or Alexa button when I take off my headphone. Maybe it's an industrial design thing, even though having these button at these location improves the look but I rather have something easy to use than I need to handle with care just for the look. 4. Doesn't auto turn stop when take off. I thought this is pretty basic features these days. Airpod has it, Bose Sportsfree earbuds has it .. I'm not sure why this headphone doesn't have it. I always need to manually shut it off. 5. Touch Sensor Instability. It just might work, might not work, not really fine tuned. Conclusion: Most of these issues are software related, I hope Bose is able to step up with fixes and improve the user experience aspect of things. It's a shame to have such a good sound, active noise cancellation + voice pick up technology but losing the market over poor UX design. After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level. Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly. The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect. When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense. The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces. It's been decades since I've owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617
I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark
It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Having used these almost constantly for a few weeks now they have been excellent. Long periods of use (3-4 hours at a time) do not fatigue the ears at all – they are very comfortable. I have a large head and I have maxed out the available adjustment in the head band – they fit me well, however I would not want to have an even larger cranium or they might struggle to fit me properly 😉 A handy feature (refer image below) is the red circle that illuminates on the side of the earpiece that contains the mic when I am on a call to alert others not to disturb. The circle does not illuminate when listening to music. One issue I have had is that they don't seem to be recognised when the PC starts up. I have to unplug the USB then re-connect to fix it each time – not a big issue but slightly annoying when I forget to do this and I receive an MSTeams call which requires a quick in/out of the plug before I can talk. The sound quality is excellent too, I have used these for music listening and they produce great quality sound.Scott J.
Overall they are good now I am used to them, and they integrate really well with Teams. The control button on the chord is a good feature; a lot better than with my old Logitech Bluetooth headset (but then the chord is a bit of a nuisance). There are a few niggles as below. – The top of the headband is quite firm, so can be uncomfortable on the top of ones head with prolonged use – The ear pieces amplify background noises (kid of like putting a sea shell to your ear). No sound-deadening foam, but then again they might last longer. – Side tone (feedback from microphone to ear phones) is quite high if mic is right next to your mouth, but this can be adjusted. – Have the occasional high pitched distortion when using with Skype. Not a problem with Teams. My old Logitech Bluetooth phones are more comfortable overall, but they are $100 more expensive, so take your pick.
This is the headset only — by design! At the time I purchased (Sept 2021), it's half the price of the other listings for Jabra Evolve 40 on Office Depot, and it mentions only 3.5mm connectivity — the others mention USB. If you already have the Jabra USB dongle (or you don't care about the control dongle) this saves you some money. The 3.5mm plug on my old headset broke when the device it was attached to fell to the floor. I didn't need a new USB dongle, just a new headset, so this was perfect — why pay for a new whole package when all you need is a new headset? So here's the skinny on these. Easy set up. Connects to Bluetooth seemlessly. The app is solid and you can customize and create your own "moment" and then save it. Sound quality is crystal but to a person with relatively poor hearing I'd suggest maximum volume is a little low. Noise cancelling is decent: I used these on 2 Porter Air flights and they were prop planes and these did a good job. The only beef (as mentioned by others) is that on occasion, there is a sudden, unexpected "pop" sound that can present and you never know when it might come up and it's startling when it does as you are never expecting it. I have had these headphones for around a month now, using them for at least 6 hours a day. Here are a list of pros and cons I have amassed during my time of use: Pros: – Very durable and retains its shape quite nicely – Ear pads are comfortable even for large ears like mine – Sounds great – THE BUILT IN MIC ACTUALLY WORKS AND PEOPLE CAN HEAR ME CRYSTAL CLEAR!!! – Has a tremendous battery life (I charge fully once a week, but if I'm paranoid, I charge for 10 minutes to get 5 hours of battery life) – Can use with aux cord if you run out of battery – Pauses songs when you take it off your head (it should play it too when you put it back on, but that's more of a hit/miss and depends on how long you took it off your head it seems) – It really is water resistant (went out to buy groceries when it started to drizzle halfway through my trip) – Buttons are easy to use – Can pair simultaneously up to two devices (of course, you only hear from one device at a time; whichever one is playing a song/video) Cons – ANC feature is not as great as it should be for $350 (Sony and Bose are much better). The ANC on these do work and do a good job, but I have tried the Sony WH1000 and Bose 700 headphones and they do a great job relative to the Jabra headphones. – Looks very clunky and big on your head because of the structural design – When screen sharing (on zoom) and having your group watch a video from your laptop/computer, you can't hear the video (idk if there is a solution to this, but I have been researching into it) – The app for the phone is a nightmare to use at first, but thankfully they updated it and can now find my ding dang paired headphones – When using aux cord, you can't use the built in mic or switch whatever hearing mode you're in (i.e. it is stuck in off, you can't switch to Hearing Mode or ANC) Miscellaneous – It is foldable, but it still takes up a bit of room when fully folded, so I just put it around my neck – Clamping force from the head band can start to get to me at around 7-8 hours – Comes with a sturdy carrying pack, airplane adaptor, charging cable, and aux cord – Has no off button…you turn it off by swivelling the earcups. To turn on, you swivel them as if to put them on your head. – The textile design is nice to touch and is unique Overall: Since I bought this on sale at $250 instead of $350, it gets a 9/10. At full price, it gets a 7/10. I do recommend this since it goes on sale much more than Sony or Bose, but don't purchase it at full price because it just doesn't stand up to Sony or Bose at that price point. Since I just needed something to use with meetings, music, and study at a library, it fits my needs and I didn't need the most expensive headphones (*cough cough* Sony/Bose). If you truly want amazing ANC, go for the two brands I keep repeating. I cannot complain about the audio. Noise-canceling works extremely well. A week ago, I forgot to take off my headset while working, and a video coming from youtube was paused and for no reason, it started playing again. I was completely confused for 2 seconds, I thought someone opened my door behind me, but indeed was just part of the video. I felt like in the Matrix! There are just 2 things that were kinda disappointing to me: 1. Mute button: It just doesn't work at all. I tend to move a lot at home as now I am working remotely so I still need to run to the computer to mute/unmute in the middle of my calls. 2. Microphone background noise canceling: I was expecting the same functionality as the Jabra Evolve 65 (I got it but it broke down, and I decided to upgrade my headset). That version was great at minimizing the background noise around me. I was hoping for better, but I did not find this device useful. I wanted it for GoToMeeting and skype calls on my Mac Mini and Macbook Pro, for connecting to 2 iphones and an iPad. I also wanted to be able to listen to music when in the office.First off, the device feels flimsy. It did not sit well on my head, and the microphone did not clip back into place this has been mentioned in other reports. It was hard to position the microphone. The onoff and bluetooth control is hard to reach while wearing it. It seems to connect to 2 bluetooth devices, but since it only announces connected to 2 devices its hard to know which, and the instructions are so poor that if there is a way to tell I couldnt work it out. As far as I can see theres no way to switch between devices says youre on a call on one device and another device rings, you cant switch.I connected it to my Mac with the USB dongle. When using GTM, I selected Jabra as the device to use but could neither hear nor be heard. Same with Skype, although for some reason on the 3rd try it did work with skype, but then just kept dropping both my voice and sound. I also selected Jabra in the Mac settings made no difference. I did manage to listen to iTunes, but the sound quality was terrible and it kept dropping.Maybe mine had a fault, but I called the Jabra call line and they said as far as they could tell it was working. Purchased this as a replacement for a lesser-known wired headset brand. The Jabra Evolve 65 covers both ears, has a boom mic and adjustable head band. The dual ear muff is comfortable paired with adjustable head band is comfortable to wear for long periods at a time (music and/or meetings). They don't cancel noise out completely but provide a protective barrier to be able to hear all your calls clearly. I also purchased this because it has a boom mic — as opposed to a built-in mic that can capture surrounding sound as well. The mic is clear and can be moved up and tucked into the top of the headset when not in use. There is a Do Not Disturb type of red light (that can either be set to turn on/off automatically and can also be controlled manually) to let people around you know you are on a call or busy. Like all Bluetooth wireless headsets, there is a chance for delays in transmitting and receiving sound. Something to get used to but easy to learn to manage it after several tries. Recommendation: Great mid-level wireless headset when you need something functional, stylish and comfortable. Purchase one and add some extra excitement to those all-day video meetings.therese.r
Jabra is a brand that is surprising me with excellent products. This small and not much expensive hp, works as I could not imagine. I Use also the e65BT In Ear that are working more than fine. On this pack, the cabling with the USB and removable Jack 3.5 gives the flexibility to use it on two devices like I do switching sometime from the Windows HP notebook (in USB) to my iPad Air (in 3.5 mm jack). The meetings are finally not only a chaotic experience, but the audio is clear, not invading, not too loud, well intelligible. On the other side everyone listen to me finally with clarity and with the background noise quite reduced. A plus is also the rounded device connection that gives the possibility to answer, mute, tune volume directly on a button. When muted is red, when green you are in the call, so you can be sure to avoid some unfortunate mistake… 🙂 The cable length is enough to walk around the desk. Of course doesn't give to you the chance to leave the desk and go to the kitchen or bathroom, like a BT device could, but the wiring connection in someway gives also a stability that with some BT piece you could rather dream. As always there are much better product, spending two or three times more, but we have to refer this feedback to the category of this piece. And in my opinion for the price, I am totally satisfied.

for about 6 months, this thing worked perfectly. it paired just fine, and it felt good over my ears. after the 3 month mark, it seemed to start charging less quickly, and I was getting frustrated by the frequent robotic voice suddenly yelling in my ears (multiple times) that the battery was low. Today, while working out, the pairing suddenly disconnected and the headphones stopped connecting entirely. the lights still worked, but several voice prompts stopped playing, and it refused to reconnect/pair back onto my device. Im very sure something inside the headphones broke/came loose. Im dissapointed that it broke, but I dont necessarily regret buying it in the first place. skull candy is a medium-low quality brand, so it doesnt surprise me that it didnt even last a year…I had just hoped that it would last a bit longer. Its almost like paying $12 each month leading to its demise. If skullcandy changes the way they do their wiring and make the headphones themselves more structured, I would buy these again, but until then Im going to try out a Different brand and see if it lives any longerYehaw
I think these headphones are decent. I gave them 4 stars because most of the features are great. For starters, the ear pads are very soft and comfortable on the ears. The headband is made of a light plastic but adjustable. The earpads rotate flat and can rotate to be more comfortable while you wear them. I am really impressed with the battery life on these and how easy it was to connect to them. There's a simple plus, circle, and minus button on the right ear side which makes it easy to volume up, down, pause, and play. My ONLY issue with these headphones is they hurt my ears after a few hours however I didn't take more stars off because my son found these very comfortable so it may be a to each their own kind of thing. To preface, I had a pair of Beats Solo Wireless headphones before I purchased these. In fact, the Beats were given to me as a gift and I never even thought I would use them and I used them every day and after two years I needed to replace them. But I didn't want to spend $300 so I thought I would just buy some affordable heaphones because I now need them daily for home use and so I thought I didn't need the best of the best. HOWEVER, THESE ARE NOT IT! They fit on ear. Are they comfy? Yes. but the material over the ear pieces is the same kind I have dealt with over the years with kids headphones and its the cheap material that comes off with a tug so beware. The sound is okay. I like the way the ears can move and aren't rigid. So even with the above being said, I was going to keep them because I didn't want the hassle of going in to return. THEN I PUT THEM ON. Dear lord! There is ZERO padding on the plastic piece that goes on your head. And the band is very thin, cheap plastic. It feels super delicate and it feels like these will not last 6 months with daily use. These feel real cheap which sucks because prior to using Beats, I used Skullcandy earbuds and they were an absolute value for the price! But I think I would rather spend an extra $30 bucks and get a pair of SONY brand wireless headphones. Anyhow. I rarely write reviews but this just felt SO disappointing. I bought these headphones at the start of the pandemic because, like a lot of people, I was spending a lot of time on video calls and needed comfortable headphones. I picked these mostly for the memory foam and noise cancelling features, and I feel like I definitely got $60 of use out of them over the past year and a half. The earcups and padding at the top of the head were very comfortable, and the noise cancelling was really helpful in my noisy house. About a month ago, however, I noticed that the plastic above the left earcup had cracked, creating an uncomfortable jagged edge. Since I was still within warranty, I filled out the form on the Soundcore site and requested a replacement. They got back to me the next day, asked for a screenshots of my invoice and the damage, and sent me a replacement immediately. I got it within two days. Overall, I've had a very positive experience with these headphones and this company. I would, however, recommend reinforcing the plastic on the headband area, as this is definitely a structural weak point (when taking pictures of the cracked left side, I noticed the beginnings of a crack on the right as well). For mid-range headphones, the customer service and overall good audio quality of the q20s make them a good value for me, and I'd probably buy them again.Emily
Bought this looking at the Positive reviews. Noise Cancelling function works great. But the build quality is not good and would not last you for more than 6 months. It was working well for the first 6 months and then they broke as I was adjusting the Headphone length on my ears. Now I cannot adjust the length after its broken and fit is not good, if you listen to it for a longer period of time. Don't expect this to last more than a year. I expect great build quality and long-lasting for this Price from Anker as I gotten several products from them before. Have to figure out how to claim the warranty on this. I just wanted a good set of BlueTooth headphones that would work with my new mobile phone because my new phone does not have a plug-in jack for older headphones. I bought this for zoom calls that will be recorded and we need to sound semi okay on the recording. It seems to work okay for that (we are not talking audiophile recordings here.) I'd purchased a cheaper headset and it was SO uncomfortable, I stepped it up and got this one. It's an improvement, but I still wish it was cushier on my ears. It was worth it to download Jabra Direct to control some of the features. Like the annoying busy lights. I work at home and so I don't have any coworkers to disturb me on calls and the red busylights look like alien eyes on the side of my head. So I was glad to turn it off. I purchased this item in the hopes it would cure some problems I have using my existing audio devices, which are the AirPods Pro and Microsoft LX-3000. Pros: – With the mic off, music playback is good, comparable to the AirPods – Fit is reasonably comfortable – Side tone is pretty cool. I had never used a pro caliber headset with this feature before, it is handy to hear how you sound clearly instead of muffled through the earcups. Cons: – When the mic is activated, music volume goes way up and quality decreases. This also happens on the AirPods because of Bluetooth limitations, but there is no excuse with this cabled headset. – Mic is not adjustable and sits very close to my mouth. Depending on just how the headset is placed on my head, it can actually make contact. – The mute button does not work. Raising the mic does mute as expected, but the mute indicator light on the cable fails to activate (tested on Mac and Windows) The bottom line is that I would not choose to use this headset over the $40 LX-3000. Works great with MS Teams. Comfortable on ear even on long meetings, and good sound quality! Best headset I've used so far. The only slight negative is the chord is a bit stiff and gets in the way whilst typing. Other brands I've used in the past have softer chords which loose their pre-packaged kinks after a short while of use, but this is still kinked in the same way after a month of use despite trying to unkink it regularly. I guess its more down to using better quality cable than my previous headsets, and will thus last longer than previous ones as a result. Its a shame the wireless version is so much more expensive than the chorded version, otherwise I'd swap as the headset is great otherwise.dabski
