20 Best Work From Home Monitors (Jan 2023 Update)

There's a reason this monitor has been sold out on/off for the last six months. For design/photo/video work, it checks all the right boxes, it's screen ratio (3840×2160) is easier to work in with multiple apps and/or one with room for all your menus, and for me, it's better with one of these than two smaller screens (plus laptop screen). For just over 1K, you can't go wrong with this! I use this plugged into a fairly new laptop via the supplied USB-C cable running a nVidia 3080 card. So far, so good, and no dead pixels nor screen bleed. I was using an older NEC IPS monitor prior (non 4k/HD) and what a difference. It's bright, accurate, and it let's you choose the color mode you want to work in (sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, etc.), depending on web vs photo vs video. I recommend going through the menu system to look at the myriad of adjustments you can make…there's one for every possible thing you could think of. Also, check the input first as it comes with the Display Port enabled by default…thought it wasn't registering and then changed it to USB-C and voil, all is right. Currently, I can't find any cons to it. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor. It's my first Asus, and if it holds up, won't be my last.Kurt

I've had this display for a few weeks now. It is a replacement for the Benq PD3220U I tried and returned. What I like about this ASUS model is it supports hardware calibration while competing in price with other displays that only support software calibration. It also has a brighter image output. This is for when I'm working from home, not a controlled production studio environment, so the extra brightness is needed. I find the on-screen menu system is pretty easy to navigate, so that's good as well. There are a couple negatives though. One is the ASUS calibration software on macOS. It hasn't been updated in a couple years, and would repeatedly become unresponsive on my M1 Max MBP. I could not even start a calibration, which totally defeats the purpose of this monitor. So I used a spare PC to run and store the hardware calibration. If you don't have access to a Windows PC, you might hold off on this display until they update their software. Also, although the native display on my MBP comes on immediately when waking the computer, the ASUS display takes ~10sec. That's a bit annoying. Otherwise, I like this display and don't really know what other option there is for these features in this price range.Johnny

First impressions: Well built, nice esthetics, attractive and functional materials. Operational: Intuitive interface and button placement. Connector placement allows for easy access. Connector mating feels solid and reliable. Factory settings provide a high-quality image that (IMHO) do not need tweeking. Screen is responsive, colors are vibrant, contrast ratio provides clear delineation, improving comfortable viewing time. Docking features work first time, out of the box. PowerDelivery at 90W is suitable to maintain battery levels for even our most power hungry laptops. Daisy Chain feature works well.Bill C

1) its supposed to come in already calibrated. Is it? I dont know. It seems very BLUE compared to my other BenQ that was already calibrated. So I dont know what to say. I tried calling BenQ technical support but of course they never pick up their phone or return your voicemails. Ive tried calling them at least a handful of times now. I could sit on the phone for 2hours and after that the system usually just hangs up on you 2) in terms of the KVM switch: I was excited about this but it doesnt work that well. First off it took me over an hour to set it up. Because the instructions that came in the box are incorrect. And the tutorial online is also incorrect (and they dont even match the paper instructions). I finally figured out how to configure the KVM switch through trial and error (and i would tell you how to do it but i already forgot). And its not as convenient as i want it to be in operation. You have to toggle the monitor and keyboard/mouse separately….meaning it takes about 3-5 button presses to switch from one set of keyboard/mouse/monitor to the other. A properly configured kvm switch should take 1 button push to switch between ssytems, not 5 (because you have to manually select the output of the monitor (ie mini DVI, hdmi 1, hdmi 2, etc)….so you have to toggle through the different output options before you get the one you want…poor user design. The one thing i really like though is that the FONT of this screen is a perfect size. Whereas the font of my 24 benQ is really tiny and i cant figure out how to adjust that…david

I had the BenQ GW2765 worked for 6 year with great result. Just want to upgrade to bigger monitor, and got this one. Audio Jack malfunction, it won't play sound and the speaker keep playing the sound. The BenQ support won't be able to figure it out. It is so sad it breaks on the tiny jack. Screen is dull. I did a side by side of my old BenQ monitor with this one, the brightness of 40% on the old monitor is brighter than the new one at 60% ! Unbelievable. I have to return it back.Mingquan

Newegg does not over-box. I understand – the BenQ box is already BIG, and the box is solid, with handle ports. But an overbox does add protection. That said, I received two with no apparent damage to equipment or the BenQ box; Kudos to FedEx, and to NewEgg for choosing FedEx. Update Feb 22, 2018. The second unit flickers only very occasionally, once (or less) per day, and each is not nearly as noticeable as the frequent flickers on the first unit were. I am keeping this second unit because of the "Pros" I cited above. I advise that you consider this monitor for the Pros I cite, but only buy one from Newegg or similarly reliable supplier (Is there ANYONE as good?) in case you have to return the unit. BTW, Newegg processed my $800 refund for the first one promptly, and they paid to have Fedex pick up the unit at my home. Such exemplary service is a big reason I have been a customer since 2004.Walter R.

This monitor was chosen because of it's specs and all of the positive reviews on the B&H website. The 25 model was purchased due to space limitations. The primary reason for buying a better quality monitor is to edit photos in LR and Photoshop as a hobby. The contrast, brightness, and gamut are everything you would expect from a BenQ monitor. The extra surprise is the Display Pilot software that enables you to change settings rather than having to click on multiple buttons on the face of the monitor. I particularly like the Darkroom setting which is useful for getting pictures prepped for printing. I'm definitely in the camp with all the other reviewers who have given this monitor 5 stars.Ridley

Bought this for my daughter (she’s a graphic designer/web designer) who was working from home. She has said this is a great monitor for her work from home, even better than her “in office” monitors. She connects her MacBook Pro to it for her evening/late night/weekend work now that they’ve gone back to the office. I purchased this to provide high quality color and resolution for editing photos and for website work. This price was two to three times more than what I am use to spending on a monitor, and it has been well worth it. Set up was easy, and the stand and frame are very sturdy. The monitor can be raised so that the screen center is at eye level and tilted to a comfortable angle. I don't need it, but the screen rotates easily to a portfolio mode. My connection is from a Mac mini display port to HDMI, and there are several other video and audio options which would accommodate multiple sources and setups for multiple or daisy chained monitors. The monitor was plug and play. My Mac immediately recognized the monitor, and no downloads or unusual steps were required. I tweaked a couple of the monitor settings to suit my preferences, but it looked very good before I made any adjustments. I use the monitor next to an inexpensive 23 Asus monitor, which makes the color and clarity of the BenQ monitor even more pronounced. I read a lot of specs and reviews on B&H before purchasing this, and I am very happy with the results as this was still at the lower price point for better monitors. I debated spending more for a 27 monitor, and I am glad that I didn't. The 25 screen size is plenty big for creative work and luxurious for dreary work like spreadsheets and email. I have desktop speakers and don't use the BenQ monitor speakers. I did give them a quick test, and they were above average for monitor speakers and sufficient for streaming videos and music.Robert

Have been working at home since March, and wanted to upgrade to a 34 inch ultra wide monitor. Have had this monitor for a month now. What I like about this monitor: It's ultra wide, so I can have two split screens, and see everything clearly. I can easily adjust the monitor to go up and down. I like this feature a lot. It is not a glossy screen. My last monitor has a glossy finish, and since there are windows behind my desk, anytime it's sunny, there is a huge glare. No more glare! The built in speakers are great and very loud and clear. What I don't like about this monitor: It's not curved. Since it is 34 inches, it took my eyes a few days to get adjusted to looking at the ultra wide size. I kind of wish I had gotten a curved monitor. But now I am used to it. The power cord where it plugs into the monitor is a bit touchy. Sometimes when I move the monitor, or move the laptop or a cable behind the monitor, the screen goes black. I just reach around and touch the plug and the screen comes back on. Just a minor nuisance. Overall it's good monitor and I like it a lot. However, if I could do it over again and buy another monitor, I would probably buy a curved monitor.K.

First off, this is the first ViewSonic I've had since the CRT days. I loved them then so I decided to give this a shot since I never had color issues like I have with my original LG lcd I've been using for the past 9 years. It was a 24 1080p and was looking to upgrade to QHD for my photo editing. Positives: Using this for photo editing is great. Fantastic color accuracy out of the box. The large size and resolution makes detail work a breeze. For gaming, I've had no issues. Has higher latency that your average Gamer Monitor but no where near the latency of a TV in the living room. 8ms is nothing to scoff at. The minor complaints: vga? but no DVI. (I'm using display port anyway) Only a 60hz panel, but for the price it's understandable. They make a higher (120?) refresh model if it's a problem. Speaker sound quality is thin, but it is loud. And the big one. Not height adjustable. I'll probably have to just order a VESA stand for the 1 clearance I need to fit my built-in office desk so even then, it has a solution. All in all, I am very satisfied with this monitor and it is the best QHD for the money if high refresh rate and latency isn't the biggest concern.Johnathan

This is my first ultrawide, and so far I love it. Using it mostly for viewing text with lots of windows open, so I can't speak to how good it is for gaming or streaming. Picture is sharp. If your PC only has one video port (such as a typical laptop), this monitor is a good alternative to a docking station with two monitors. Looks great with my eyes are about 2 ft. from the screen, but the left and right edges of the screen are near the limits of the LCD viewing angle, so a prospective buyer might want to consider a curved-screen monitor depending on viewing distance and what you're using it for. (I'm looking at lots of small text, but if you're watching movies or playing games, you probably wouldn't notice it, especially if your face is more than 2 ft. away.) You'll want your PC to have a decent graphics card to handle the approx. 410 sq. in. of 2k resolution. Five benjamins is a bit pricey – so it's not quite getting the five stars – but that's my only complaint so far.R.U.

For a long time now I’ve used dual monitors to game and work for productivity. I’ve recently bought a new laptop that is lightweight, but only 13” screen. I wanted more real estate, I I went with the LG 29” Ultrawide which is perfect for my needs. It gives me the added space of two monitors, all in one display. I’m able to have two full sized webpages open side by side at the same time so I don’t need to toggle virtual desktops as much. It gives me the flexibility to have an external keyboard and mouse and simulate a desktop experience when I don’t need the portability of my laptop all from one monitor instead of two. Games on the display are amazing, bright and nice response time. I’ve never owned an ultra wide monitor before, but after this I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Haven’t used it with my drawing display yet, but I can’t wait to use them together for better clarity on my references I use to draw from.Schwebs

Im a very honest and avid reviewer. I got this monitor for my birthday and it is absolutely perfect for my applications. I do a lot of data analytics and have large spreadsheets open all the time. Having an ultra wide monitor is perfect for viewing the whole plethora of data at once! I also have played many games using it (such as call of duty warzone) and have had great success. Only complaint is I had a couple vertical lines appear on the display, but LG is taking care of them for me! 4 of 5 stars from me. I wish the split screen modes worked better with my setup, but unfortunately they do not. May just be the screen size in comparison to the pages I want split.KeegJohn317

Having spent the last year working from home on my tiny laptop screen and a former "upgrade" to an external monitor I'm absolutely blown away by LG's 29” UltraWide. I should have bought one years ago because this is a productivity powerhouse anyone still working at home should definitely consider. I spend a good chunk of my day coding and I can easily have three files open in VSC side by side without straining, it's even helpful to limit myself from monster one-liners that would go off-page. Setup was really easy, you'll just need a screw to attach and it feels perfectly sturdy for something so large. The screen itself is the entire width of my desk which wasn't an issue but do some measurements in your own space before buying. It also came with an HDMI standard which I needed an adaptor for my laptop but it looks like you have options to use USB-C if you have a cable for that! The picture quality is also really good, I haven't watched any movies but having a video playing on the side while I'm working on the other half of the screen is lovely. It's bright and clear for videos while sharp enough for docs, articles, and work. I imagine it would be fantastic to game on, but that'll have to come later when works calmed down. Overall I can't find anything I didn't like, if I'm picking at straws there was a CD user guide in the box, I wouldn't even know where I could use a CD anymore. The monitor itself was perfect and I'm definitely a convert to widescreen for the rest of my life. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.davidjhinku

It was finally time to make the upgrade to a monitor more appropriate for gaming. The picture is crisp and clear, with tons of options tweak your performance. I'm really impressed with the monitor stand as well. It was super easy to get it in just the right position, and can quickly align vertically or horizontally without any hassle. Its also got cool glowy lights so people will take you seriously as a human being. My only small issue is the built in speakers (I know, who uses them….but still) are easily the worst quality I've seen (heard) on a monitor. I have no interest or need for monitor speakers so that doesn't effect my final rating. YMMVJAMES P

Coming from a dual 2560×1440 curved Va panel setup and going down to a 27” 2560×1440 ips panel is aight and day difference in the best way possible. I mostly use the monitor for gaming and fps games at that. The refresh rate overclocked to 165 and 1ms response time really does make a difference in gameplay and performance in game. I recommend anyone looking for a iOS panel to give this monitor a try you will not regret it.ZahirKundi

I've been extremely happy with this monitor upgrade. Finally something to do my rig justice. I'm on a AMD-heavy setup with a 5900x and 6800xt. I'm only a moderate gamer, but I really wanted something with vibrant, deep colors and this delivered. Haven't noticed any ghosting. Considering what I spent on the rest of my build, I wanted a monitor that wouldn't break the bank but would still be quality. This hit the sweet spot for me.Erika S

This is a very nice 4K monitor. It's good looking, feels well constructed, and includes convenient features like an integrated USB 3 hub, USB PD, and basic speakers. It isn't quite top of the line, but the color calibration puts it a step ahead of some less expensive displays. Asus sent me one of these displays in exchange for a review after using it. This review reflects my honest opinions after a week of using it in my home office (including for full business days of remote work). In short, I'm very pleased with it and would readily recommend it. The build quality feels pretty good, with a nice weight and no creaky plastic. The stand is solid and attaches securely and moves well. Only a couple of minor fit and finish issues stood out: I did find it easy to scratch the rear plastic housing a bit (hardly noticeable) while attaching it to the stand, and the relief around the VESA 100×100 mounting points didn't quite fit the articulated monitor mounting arm I have on my desk. (The latter may be more an issue with that arm, so I can't necessarily fault the Asus display for it.) Nonetheless, I would say it feels like this display has solid construction and material choices. My unit had no stuck or dead pixels. It's a 4K display, so it naturally is going to look very sharp. The lighting seemed very uniform for some test patterns of various colors as well as shades of gray. The color reproduction in the default sRGB mode, which is the high color accuracy mode, looks good to my eyes, though I'm unable to empirically verify how accurately the display is calibrated. The viewing angles from the sides are pretty good, which is typically of an IPS display. I did encounter some strange behavior with the refresh rate and visual glitches after enabling the Adaptive Sync feature while the monitor was connected via USB-C to a Surface Book 3, which I was unable to later reproduce. Since I haven't seen it happen again, I'm chalking it up to a fluke that might be as much a fault with Windows. I also used it with a MacBook Pro and had no issues at all. I found the feature assortment to be useful. I was most pleased with the integrated USB 3 hub, since I can now retire a separate USB hub and reduce some desktop clutter. It wasn't clear to me from the published specs, but the hub is a 5 Gbps USB 3.0, aka USB 3.1 Gen 1, device. A menu option allows you to choose either USB 2.0 or 3.0 mode, which may be handy if you use any wireless devices that could be affected by EMI from USB 3 and don't really need the extra speed. (This option is disabled if using a 480 Mbps USB 2.0 cable, which makes sense since it wouldn't be useful.) USB Power Delivery is supported, though only to 65W (which is still enough to handle the majority of 14-inch and smaller laptops), but the 65W limitation seems notable as the graphic design professionals that would be most interested in the color calibration of this display seem likely to be using laptops that need the higher-powered USB Power Delivery levels. Besides the built-in USB hub, the built-in speakers can be convenient for occasional audio. I generally use a headset anyway, but it is nice to be able to sometimes play audio without the headset. The PA279CV speakers are very basic and won't knock anyone over, but they're better than nothing and I'm personally happier to have the option than not. All in all, I think Asus did a good job with this product. I have very little I could complain about, and the feature/performance mix for the price seems very competitive. I would definitely recommend that anyone in the market for a 4K display consider this one, even if color calibration isn't a top priority.bredeker

If you're looking at this ASUS ProArt monitor, you're likely a graphics professional or someone otherwise interested in high-quality, color-accurate displays. As someone who does a modest amount of graphics work and is very sensitive to display quality, I can say I am highly satisfied with this monitor and count it as likely the best I've used in my personal or professional life. First off, this ASUS offers full 4k 60 hertz resolution at a nice 27-inch size. Having been used to a 24-inch 1080p display I can say the switch to 4k was immediately noticeable. It's akin to going from an old Android phone to the latest iPhone — you no longer see the pixels in the display at your typical seating distance, and everything is rendered crisply. This ASUS offers a display experience in line with what most modern smart phones and tablets, as well as high-end laptops, offer. If you haven't yet used a 4k display the difference really is something to experience, and going back to a non-4k display is pretty tough! I am driving this display with a 13-inch Surface Book 2 and a Surface Dock 2 and have had no issues with full 4k resolution at 60 hertz via a USB-C connection. You'll want to make sure your computer and/or docking solution are capable of driving high-resolution displays like this one, but I'm fairly confident most computers and even tablets from the past few years should have no trouble. The "ProArt" designation of this model clearly targets it at the "prosumer" level, and ASUS packs in plenty of pro-level goodies to satisfy you. Here are some highlights: First, the connections. The ASUS includes two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and a USB-C port, giving you maximum flexibility and compatibility, especially if you want to connect multiple machines to one display. All these ports are capable of accepting both video and audio, as the ASUS includes built-in speakers. The sound quality isn't much to write home about, but it's entirely acceptable for Zoom calls, which is all I need it for in my setup. In addition to the aforementioned ports, the ASUS includes four USB-A ports and a headphone jack. You'll need to connect to the monitor with USB-C to enable the auxiliary USB ports. I did this and connected my webcam to one of the ports and everything works as expected. Connecting via USB-C offers one additional benefit: The ASUS can supply up to 65W to your computer via the USB-C Power Delivery standard. This is plenty for many tablets and laptops, but you'll need to check your specific device's needs. My Surface Book requires over 100W, meaning it'll charge slowly or not at all via this connection, depending on how intensively I'm using it. However, if your device doesn't need as much power as mine, you might have a true "one-cable" connection with this monitor. Definitely check to see how many watts your device draws if you're hoping to use the ASUS as both monitor and hub; regardless of power needs, the USB-C connection does offer simplicity and future-proofing. Next up in the ProArt highlights is the build quality and adjustability. This ASUS is well-built, with a nicely-weighted stand included. Even heavy typers like me shouldn't notice any side-to-side wobbling. Even better, the included stand allows you to rotate the screen side-to-side, move it up and down, change the angle and even rotate it 180 degrees for reading long documents or other uses. I'm really pleased with the overall build quality and appearance. The ASUS offers black and dark-ish gray accents and is attractive without being flashy. You may notice the display itself is thicker/deeper than some others, but that's because of all the ports and the built-in power supply. This means you get a standard three-prong power cord, rather than the cord/power brick combo that many other monitors use. I vastly prefer the standard power cord of this ASUS to the cord/brick setup. It's neater overall and allows you to swap out the power cord easily for a longer one if needed. Even better, ASUS includes a power switch on the back of the monitor that kills power to the entire device, in addition to the regular power button on the front that puts the display into a very low power draw "off" mode. Finally, let's talk about the picture quality. In short, it's both excellent out of the box and highly-customizable. A big reason for choosing a ProArt-branded model is the certified factory calibration of the display, which is CalMan Verified — basically, you're getting nearly-perfect color reproduction from day one without any extra work on your part, though it's a little more complex than that. First, the CalMan Verification is only for two of the monitor's color modes: sRGB and Rec. 709. If you know what those are and work primarily in one of those two modes, you're calibrated and good to go. The ASUS offers multiple color modes in addition to these, but they're not CalMan Verified. Switching between modes is done using the OSD menu system and buttons on the front, or by insz4teen

I am very impressed with the number of features built into this monitor. It allows for multiple devices to be plugged in and viewed on the screen (if you want), while simultaneously charging ones plugged in via the USB ports. (It even comes with one hdmi cable and one display port cable.) The monitor setting options are vast, and I appreciate that you can save multiple setups to switch between depending on what you’re viewing or working on. The size of the screen is perfect for me, a nice upgrade from my 15.6” laptop. As someone who does photography for a hobby, I am very impressed with crispness and accuracy of the colors as well. In dual monitor setup with my laptop, I was easily able to closely match the brightness and colors so there was not a distracting difference between the two screens, besides the screen sizes. The stand itself is very sturdy, with a heavy base to prevent it from tipping over when adjusting the screen position. I immensely appreciate the wide range of motion that the stand allows for too. The built-in speakers were surprisingly half-decent. Obviously, they’re limited in sound quality, but I was pleasantly surprised with how loud they are. One cool thing I discovered with my android phone, is that when plugged into this monitor it has a desktop mode option. When activated, it basically turns the phone’s output into a normal computer screen on the monitor. Then, with a wireless mouse plugged into a USB port on the monitor, everything automatically synched together so I could navigate my phone’s desktop with the mouse. Overall, I’m very impressed with this monitor. I really wished I had it when I was working from home, but I am most excited to have it for editing photos. If I was just using this for basic work-related functions, then I’m not sure this high quality of a monitor would be necessary, but for photo editing purposes, I think this is a worthy investment.KMiller

Bought two to set up dual monitors for multitasking and document viewing. It's great that it has both the DP and HDMI ports for better compatibility with the PC and other equipment. Good response time. Adjustable height is important since the office desk sits lower than desirable. One of the previous Dell monitors purchased had only a Display port and no adjustable height which became a problem so these ones resolved the issue.Karen

If you want a monitor that is fully adjustable – up/down, side to side, tilt and pan, than this is it. It was also great for me because it had a VGA socket as well as HDMI, so it was easier to plug and play for me without having to completely disassemble my computer desk set up. Also if you want USB outlets on your monitor (I find them so much easier to reach than those on my CPU) this is also an excellent choice. It actually has four USB ports (downstream) two on the side and two in the back, so I put some of things (like my Fitbit dongle) in one of the back ports, so that I can leave it in all the time, and still have two open ports easily accessible on the side for jump drives and external hard drive backups. Only been using it for a few weeks, but am very happy with it. Like the almost nonexistent bezels on sides and top much more visible screen than my old 22 inch. It took a little bit to get used to the anti-blue light – makes the screen a tad yellower with white backgrounds, but it is more restful. I am not a gamer, and being retired I no longer use it for work tasks, mostly just to stream video, read the news, e-mail, social media, and manage family finances, etc. It works just fine for all those things, and is a good size for me, any larger and I'd have to move my head too much back and forth.sgreerpitt

I don't typically write reviews but thought I would do so this time given how happy I am with my purchase. I ordered three of these monitors to work side-by-side at my workstation for my business. They are perfect for what I need them for. The screen size allows me to view a lot of information without being too obnoxiously large and the bezel-less display gives the setup a very clean look. I can move things between monitors seamlessly. I also really like the the height and tilt adjustments as it helps me to setup the monitors in such a way that will work for me depending on whether I'm standing or sitting. I would definitely purchase these again.Michelle

I upgraded to this monitor from a Samsung CRG9, which is several models older but also similar to the Neo G9, so not as dramatic a change as when I first used a curved 49 ultrawide as I am already used to that design. The Neo G9 is an excellent improvement over the CRG9 as it has twice the refresh rate, dramatic improvement in colors and HRD, and 10 Bits of color. I thought going from a 1800R curve to a 1000R curve might be too much, but in reality, I got used to it very quickly and now prefer the 1000R over the 1800R CRG9 I have used for the last three years. I debated for a long time if this would be a worthwhile upgrade from my CRG9, and I have no regrets about upgrading as the colors, crispness, and HRD are a dramatic improvement. I debated getting the ARK, but due to a lack of multiple input sources (BPB), I went to the Neo G9. I use the BPB function that both CRG9 and NEO 9 have to have my work laptop on the right half of the screen and personal desktop on the left side of the screen and can easily go from one to the other using my mouse and keyboard that have a built-in multiple Bluetooth connections. For me, that is a configuration that works well for work productivity. I received the monitor with older firmware. I highly recommend updating the latest firmware as it fixes many issues described in the earlier reviews related to HRD. I recommend using the Display port connection rather than the HDMI 2.1 connection if you want a 240 Hz refresh rate. The monitor will arrive at a refresh rate set to 120 Hz. You will need to change it to 240 Hz. Many walkthrough articles on setting up the NEO G9 will show you how to change to the 240 Hz refresh rate, etc. One thing that none mentioned is you are using HRD in Windows 11, which causes colors to be washed out in SDR (not the monitor's fault but a windows issue). Use the new windows HRD calibration app (you can find it in the windows store) to calibrate HRD. This will create a custom color profile and fixes the washed-out SDR colors. This also fixed the same issue with the CRG9. I did not have any dead pixels or any issues with the monitor's quality control that some reviews reported. Another issue frequently reported is a popping sound as the monitor warms and cools or changes resolutions. I have that issue with my CRG9, which is loud and distracting. The loud popping was one of the motivators to replace my CRG9, and I am happy to report I have not encountered the issue with my NEO G9. As for the negatives of the NEO G9, the monitor only has one Display port connection and two HDMI 2.1, whereas the CRG 9 had 2 Display ports and one HDMI connection. This seems to go backwards to only having one display port connection, as HDMI 2.1 is not capable of 240 Hz on this monitor. However, my work laptop is connected to HDMI 2.1, and my desktop is to the display port. When using BPB, the refresh rate is capped at 120 Hz, so using an HDMI connection for my work laptop is perfectly fine. If you have never used an ultrawide curved monitor, it will take a little getting used to, but once you do, you will never want to go back to anything else.Philippe

Really satisfied overall. One of the cheapest possible 4k 144hz monitors available. Despite being quite light in plain black (well, it was supposed to be black, but due to high luminescence in upper left corner, it isn't), otherwise it is really cool. I did not tested HDR mode because it's too bright for me, but besides that – it works great. Stand is really good made – it shows big stability (my desk is quite narrow, so operating from the back is hard, therefore I had to move stand over the edge of desk, but even with 1/3 leg lenth moved into air, monitor ain't even move a bit down), also allowing me to fast and easy movement in any direction. There are few small downsizes, such as: – high luminance in plain dark black – usb hub could provide bigger power to charging devices (ain't too bad, but Quick Charge 3.0 and upper are non possible) – tight backdoor for cable management. Besides that, monitor offers really strong pros: – cheap 4k – cheap 144 hz – bright hdr (it is only hdr 400 standard, but still it is way more, than enough for me) – stable stand, which really moves lightly – back illuminance (was OK, but it was still too bright in the dark) – matte finish of the screen (rather a standard than a feature, but it is not always that way) – thick bezel – nicely looking black finish – lightweight – headphone out (shame it is not lineout for speakers, but it is better than nothing). I found this while searching with sales rep online for a solution for my needs. Pleasantly impressed with value, and although I didn't ask or look before purchase, this does have built-in speakers for when you expect that with monitors these days when connecting via HDMI or DisplayPort cables. I will likely order another as the LG I purchased locally at another box store hasn't included built in speakers and that became a deal breaker for me. Although is has multiple inputs, unfortunately I learned that you can't use them on different computers just by swapping inputs. (my desktop on HDMi, then expect the laptop with displayport to also work when both on, just by attempting to swap monitor soft switching)Michael

Really bummed about this. I bought two of these monitors 8 or so months apart. It was immediately clear that there was a slight different in color between the two monitors, but I figured that was normal. About a month after ownership, I realized the two monitors were physically different sizes – one is nearly half a centimeter thicker than the other, and the front lip is a different design to. The only reason I bought a second one is because I wanted an identical monitor for a dual screen setup. Not too happy about that.Matt

This Monitor is very good. But I would not pay way more than the 90$ I gave on black friday. Meanwhile there are several Monitors with Low Blue light adjuster and flicker free as well as brightness sensor. This Monitor has at least all 3 items although I have seen an Phillips Monitor for a Little more Money with These Features as well which has on top an colour gammut of 108% NTSC and has 75 Hertz refresh rate. I would probably take by now the Phillips as it is at 106$ by now – same Screen size and Display. But Overall this is an awesome Monitor. It is rated for 30000 hours backlight LED endurance and power on for MTBF of 60000 hours. My SSD has now over 10000 hs and is already a couple of years old (91% wear Level), so expect the Monitor to last about the same as an SSD with normal use. Colour gammut is 72% NTSC and is good enough for all Tasks. It came with an HDMI cable included. Stand is sturdy since it has metal underneath the plastic. I have the blue light filter on 50% (webbrowsing they call it) which reduces brigthness greatly (to which I am a bit sensitive as it seems). Auto brightness sensor is built in which does work (shining on the sensor with an flashlight increases the Screen glow and reducing it afterwards with lights switched off). Has DP and HDMI ports. Speakers are so so but work. On an Monitor like this Speakers are not really needed since I have an 2.1 T&V Speaker System. Built in Speakers are really important only in tablets where they have to be excellent and loud enough since one is not going to toss around a real estate of attached Speakers. On Desktop Setups built in Speakers are not important. 250 nits brightness is way enough for decent movie, Surfing and gaming experience. The 23.8" size is perfect for Desktop use (I come from an 17.3" Laptop Screen) and the IPS Panel makes the huge difference in eye care as well. The IPS Panel is the single biggest eye saver Technology of the last years which avoids the eyes to constantly find the sweet spot on an traditional non IPS Display as my Laptop Screen was. I coupled this Monitor to my older Laptop which is an wonderfull Setup – why throw away an 8 year old Laptop (Intel quad core, 8 GB RAM, SSD) when it still works perfectly and the Hardware is somewhat up to date still? For Youtube, movies, etc upgrade your old machines with an SSD and they will run for a decade more or so (avoiding electrowaste. No Need for the latest and greatest). I find myself being in front of this Monitor more without glasses which never would happened before with the traditional non IPS Laptop 17.3" Screen. Great Monitor but watch out for a step higher when the Price is minimal more. With 23.8" that is the Maximum to go with FHD (1920 x 1200) since at 24" Screens you are looking already for an 4K Monitor since the Pixels of this Monitor is only at 93 PPI while my Home Essentials Direct Fire tablet has an PPI of 182 IPS Display. So an 27" Monitor should have an 4K Screen while with this Monitor you get away still with 1080p. Close up I can see with the naked eye (without glasses) the individual Pixels. But yeah, for the Price you can buy just a new one if it Fails at 60000 hours (MTBF as per specs. An SSD should have an Main Time Before Failure rate of about 2 Million hours for comparison). Set up was easy basically PnP (plug and play). Adjustment Buttons on Screen are fine. I like the power on light as it glows a whitish glow. I hope this Monitor lasts me Long as we will see the durability. Plastic parts of the Monitor are of high Quality and seem not cheapish and fit and finish is excellent. Awesome thin bezel. Darks could be darker but thats an inherent characteristic of the IPS Technology. No light bleeding or back glowing on edges or stuff but the blacks could be a bit darker. Otherwise an huge improvement from the Laptop Screen I come from. Bigger Screen and you will probably not see the edges since I sit about 30 cm away from the Monitor. Watching movies I get at least 40 cm to 100 cm distance. If the durability holds up I recommend this Monitor. I bought it because it is supposed TUV Rheinland approved and tested for flicker free and Low Blue light. Whatch out for newer models, better features and other brands for similar Price range. But you will be happy with this Monitor even for light gaming. Buy a cheapish Laptop if you cant afford anything else (or upgrade an existent one) like an cheap Dell Inspiron 11 (use the Laptop as PC), connect it to this big Monitor with mouse an keyboard, throw in a decent Sound System and you have a full Desktop replacement set up which serves as full home Theater and Entertainment System as well as gaming rig (depending on the Laptop Hardware). If one part Fails, Switch it for another part and no Need to throw the whole Thing away. I recommend this Monitor. But for retail Price of 149$ look for better deals and more bang for your buck. This is a very nice 4K monitor. It's good looking, feels well constructed, and includes convenient features like an integrated USB 3 hub, USB PD, and basic speakers. It isn't quite top of the line, but the color calibration puts it a step ahead of some less expensive displays. Asus sent me one of these displays in exchange for a review after using it. This review reflects my honest opinions after a week of using it in my home office (including for full business days of remote work). In short, I'm very pleased with it and would readily recommend it. The build quality feels pretty good, with a nice weight and no creaky plastic. The stand is solid and attaches securely and moves well. Only a couple of minor fit and finish issues stood out: I did find it easy to scratch the rear plastic housing a bit (hardly noticeable) while attaching it to the stand, and the relief around the VESA 100×100 mounting points didn't quite fit the articulated monitor mounting arm I have on my desk. (The latter may be more an issue with that arm, so I can't necessarily fault the Asus display for it.) Nonetheless, I would say it feels like this display has solid construction and material choices. My unit had no stuck or dead pixels. It's a 4K display, so it naturally is going to look very sharp. The lighting seemed very uniform for some test patterns of various colors as well as shades of gray. The color reproduction in the default sRGB mode, which is the high color accuracy mode, looks good to my eyes, though I'm unable to empirically verify how accurately the display is calibrated. The viewing angles from the sides are pretty good, which is typically of an IPS display. I did encounter some strange behavior with the refresh rate and visual glitches after enabling the Adaptive Sync feature while the monitor was connected via USB-C to a Surface Book 3, which I was unable to later reproduce. Since I haven't seen it happen again, I'm chalking it up to a fluke that might be as much a fault with Windows. I also used it with a MacBook Pro and had no issues at all. I found the feature assortment to be useful. I was most pleased with the integrated USB 3 hub, since I can now retire a separate USB hub and reduce some desktop clutter. It wasn't clear to me from the published specs, but the hub is a 5 Gbps USB 3.0, aka USB 3.1 Gen 1, device. A menu option allows you to choose either USB 2.0 or 3.0 mode, which may be handy if you use any wireless devices that could be affected by EMI from USB 3 and don't really need the extra speed. (This option is disabled if using a 480 Mbps USB 2.0 cable, which makes sense since it wouldn't be useful.) USB Power Delivery is supported, though only to 65W (which is still enough to handle the majority of 14-inch and smaller laptops), but the 65W limitation seems notable as the graphic design professionals that would be most interested in the color calibration of this display seem likely to be using laptops that need the higher-powered USB Power Delivery levels. Besides the built-in USB hub, the built-in speakers can be convenient for occasional audio. I generally use a headset anyway, but it is nice to be able to sometimes play audio without the headset. The PA279CV speakers are very basic and won't knock anyone over, but they're better than nothing and I'm personally happier to have the option than not. All in all, I think Asus did a good job with this product. I have very little I could complain about, and the feature/performance mix for the price seems very competitive. I would definitely recommend that anyone in the market for a 4K display consider this one, even if color calibration isn't a top priority.bredeker

If you're looking at this ASUS ProArt monitor, you're likely a graphics professional or someone otherwise interested in high-quality, color-accurate displays. As someone who does a modest amount of graphics work and is very sensitive to display quality, I can say I am highly satisfied with this monitor and count it as likely the best I've used in my personal or professional life. First off, this ASUS offers full 4k 60 hertz resolution at a nice 27-inch size. Having been used to a 24-inch 1080p display I can say the switch to 4k was immediately noticeable. It's akin to going from an old Android phone to the latest iPhone — you no longer see the pixels in the display at your typical seating distance, and everything is rendered crisply. This ASUS offers a display experience in line with what most modern smart phones and tablets, as well as high-end laptops, offer. If you haven't yet used a 4k display the difference really is something to experience, and going back to a non-4k display is pretty tough! I am driving this display with a 13-inch Surface Book 2 and a Surface Dock 2 and have had no issues with full 4k resolution at 60 hertz via a USB-C connection. You'll want to make sure your computer and/or docking solution are capable of driving high-resolution displays like this one, but I'm fairly confident most computers and even tablets from the past few years should have no trouble. The "ProArt" designation of this model clearly targets it at the "prosumer" level, and ASUS packs in plenty of pro-level goodies to satisfy you. Here are some highlights: First, the connections. The ASUS includes two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and a USB-C port, giving you maximum flexibility and compatibility, especially if you want to connect multiple machines to one display. All these ports are capable of accepting both video and audio, as the ASUS includes built-in speakers. The sound quality isn't much to write home about, but it's entirely acceptable for Zoom calls, which is all I need it for in my setup. In addition to the aforementioned ports, the ASUS includes four USB-A ports and a headphone jack. You'll need to connect to the monitor with USB-C to enable the auxiliary USB ports. I did this and connected my webcam to one of the ports and everything works as expected. Connecting via USB-C offers one additional benefit: The ASUS can supply up to 65W to your computer via the USB-C Power Delivery standard. This is plenty for many tablets and laptops, but you'll need to check your specific device's needs. My Surface Book requires over 100W, meaning it'll charge slowly or not at all via this connection, depending on how intensively I'm using it. However, if your device doesn't need as much power as mine, you might have a true "one-cable" connection with this monitor. Definitely check to see how many watts your device draws if you're hoping to use the ASUS as both monitor and hub; regardless of power needs, the USB-C connection does offer simplicity and future-proofing. Next up in the ProArt highlights is the build quality and adjustability. This ASUS is well-built, with a nicely-weighted stand included. Even heavy typers like me shouldn't notice any side-to-side wobbling. Even better, the included stand allows you to rotate the screen side-to-side, move it up and down, change the angle and even rotate it 180 degrees for reading long documents or other uses. I'm really pleased with the overall build quality and appearance. The ASUS offers black and dark-ish gray accents and is attractive without being flashy. You may notice the display itself is thicker/deeper than some others, but that's because of all the ports and the built-in power supply. This means you get a standard three-prong power cord, rather than the cord/power brick combo that many other monitors use. I vastly prefer the standard power cord of this ASUS to the cord/brick setup. It's neater overall and allows you to swap out the power cord easily for a longer one if needed. Even better, ASUS includes a power switch on the back of the monitor that kills power to the entire device, in addition to the regular power button on the front that puts the display into a very low power draw "off" mode. Finally, let's talk about the picture quality. In short, it's both excellent out of the box and highly-customizable. A big reason for choosing a ProArt-branded model is the certified factory calibration of the display, which is CalMan Verified — basically, you're getting nearly-perfect color reproduction from day one without any extra work on your part, though it's a little more complex than that. First, the CalMan Verification is only for two of the monitor's color modes: sRGB and Rec. 709. If you know what those are and work primarily in one of those two modes, you're calibrated and good to go. The ASUS offers multiple color modes in addition to these, but they're not CalMan Verified. Switching between modes is done using the OSD menu system and buttons on the front, or by insz4teen

I am very impressed with the number of features built into this monitor. It allows for multiple devices to be plugged in and viewed on the screen (if you want), while simultaneously charging ones plugged in via the USB ports. (It even comes with one hdmi cable and one display port cable.) The monitor setting options are vast, and I appreciate that you can save multiple setups to switch between depending on what you’re viewing or working on. The size of the screen is perfect for me, a nice upgrade from my 15.6” laptop. As someone who does photography for a hobby, I am very impressed with crispness and accuracy of the colors as well. In dual monitor setup with my laptop, I was easily able to closely match the brightness and colors so there was not a distracting difference between the two screens, besides the screen sizes. The stand itself is very sturdy, with a heavy base to prevent it from tipping over when adjusting the screen position. I immensely appreciate the wide range of motion that the stand allows for too. The built-in speakers were surprisingly half-decent. Obviously, they’re limited in sound quality, but I was pleasantly surprised with how loud they are. One cool thing I discovered with my android phone, is that when plugged into this monitor it has a desktop mode option. When activated, it basically turns the phone’s output into a normal computer screen on the monitor. Then, with a wireless mouse plugged into a USB port on the monitor, everything automatically synched together so I could navigate my phone’s desktop with the mouse. Overall, I’m very impressed with this monitor. I really wished I had it when I was working from home, but I am most excited to have it for editing photos. If I was just using this for basic work-related functions, then I’m not sure this high quality of a monitor would be necessary, but for photo editing purposes, I think this is a worthy investment.KMiller

First impressions: Well built, nice esthetics, attractive and functional materials. Operational: Intuitive interface and button placement. Connector placement allows for easy access. Connector mating feels solid and reliable. Factory settings provide a high-quality image that (IMHO) do not need tweeking. Screen is responsive, colors are vibrant, contrast ratio provides clear delineation, improving comfortable viewing time. Docking features work first time, out of the box. The S2721QS is money well spent as it's a 4K display that provides great visual clarity and coloration for everyday use. We use this for business and some photo editing, but more for business. Text is super sharp and as mentioned, colors are really great. The size is just right for a single monitor as you can split the screen or define other choices using the Dell Display software to configure. If you are seeking a wide variety of inputs such as USB-C and active USB connections, this is not your huckleberry. It has basic inputs for HDMI and Display Port. Build quality is top notch for the price point. The speakers are fine, but I'd recommend turning them off and buying another external set for everyday listening. The S2721QS stand is also adjustable and quite sturdy for the cost. I'll eventually purchase another, but not until they are on sale again. Highly recommended.CT

The monitor has a good build quality and a nice screen that covers almost the full sRGB. The adjustable height and tilt is very useful. Notes for the prospective buyers: 1. In macOS, the monitor uses YPbPr color format instead of RGB. The same thing happens to my other Dell monitors too. (I needed to change the EDID info to override the default settings.) I believe Dell should fix it. 2. The HDR implementation is pretty bad due to two reasons: a) low-bandwidth HDMI 2.0 ports and b) 350 nits maximum brightness of the panel. 3. VRR does not work with the HDMI ports. I use it mainly for productivity: coding and reading documents. The texts are sharp, which is very important for my use case. I would happily recommend the monitor for productivity (especially if you can buy it when on sale). Dell offers discount frequently. If it's not discounted now, come back and check in a few days. I'll start with all of the good stuff. As a $K 32 inch curved screen, this is absolutely wonderful for transforming the 'working from home' experience. Especially if you've been working on a 15 inch lap top screen, struggling with multiple documents, the tiny type size and screen clutter. On the Dell I can open 4 documents simultaneously, and work comfortably from one to the other. It sits at a perfect height, and has sufficient angle adjustment to allow you to discover the perfect comfortable position at your desk. All good so far. But there is a but. The time from order to delivery was just peculiarly long. Ordered in late November, it arrived over a month later. No explanations, just a very long period spent waiting. The installation instructions are minimal, and do not help you with any of the setting up, apart from a recommendation to collect the right screen driver software from the Dell website. This also encourages you to download a monitor managing program. Great, plug in, switch on and… it will not automatically detect an incoming 4HD signal, so looks really ropey. For a while, I genuinely thought I'd been sold a Chinese imposter/fake maching with a 720p screen. After a lot (I mean hours) of perseverance I found a [place where I could set the screen to run in 4HD from my 4HD lap top (Dell XPS fully loaded touch screen). But in doing so I discovered that the lap top screen cannot run simultaneously. I have tried everything, but as soon as the lap top is running in it's native 4HD, there is no way that you can get the new monitor to also run at full resolution. If there's anyone in Dell Customer Service reading this, and you know something that I don't and haven't yet discovered, please get in touch. I bought this monitor back on November the 28th, 2020. I was looking for a replacement for my Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP which finally died after 14 years of use. How does it compare? Obviously the resolution is higher on the 27UL500-W. Colors are similar though the Dell did have a wider than SRGB color Gamut. Both are IPS. Refresh rate on the 27UL500-W is 60Hz at 4K but is also includes FreeSync technology so it can match the frame rate of the content it is displaying. To sum it up though, I love this monitor. I don't use it much for gaming but for work… amazing. Text is clear and legible. Colors are nice and accurate. Images are crisp. Perfect. I'm surprised it was this inexpensive tbh.Mahigan

I bought this monitor to serve as a video clean feed monitor, and it does quite well at that. However, Windows and DaVinci Resolve some disagreements about how to treat it when I wanted to use it as my primary display, so I'm leaving it as clean feed and my secondary monitor for some Windows Apps. 4K sounds great, but current industry trends are showing a lack of adoption for 4K. But this monitor is awesome! Just make sure you really need 4K.grtoft

I like the fact that the monitor has different picture settings such as HDR, vivid, and reading. Very useful for different functions or times of the day. The image is clear and for the price I think it's great value. Blacks don't looked washed surprisingly. At this price point it would be hard to find something that beats it. 27inch is actually much bigger than I thought, so if you only have a small desk to use it on, it may be abit too big and put strain on your eyes. Make sure you have a good amount of distance between yourself and the screen. Lastly the thickness of this monitor is not bad either considering the price point.atskorpio

The color is 99% Adobe RGB, and 100% sRGB, adjustment out of the box is helpful and you change color spaces at the hit of a button. You can also select the more common movie, game, computer setting. The screen is matte and I prefer it for anti-glare. You have input of 2 HDMI, Display Port and mini display port while also having display port output multi-stream transport out. You also have TWO USB3.0 A-B uplink input ports so TWO computers can be connected at the same time, when you switch video inputs the USB switches with them. 4 USB A ports (2 botton/2 left side), and audio output. Cable lock and VESA compliant. I have a mac mini and a PC now in one space with 1 keyboard, mouse, monitor, webcam.Robert G.

This display looks better than the display on my iMac of the same resolution. The colors and brightness are insane. For this price, this display is well worth it! The pivot function is very helpful for coding and research. Pivoting is fairly easy as long as you raise the display before pivoting it. I had a monitor go out on my pc that has 2 monitors, so I bought 2 of these so they would match. I screwed up because I thought I had HDMI out on my pc, but I didn't. I had DVI and VGA video outputs. I have a video capture card that uses HDMI video input. It's been a while and I forgot what I had! So I had to buy an adapter cable, DVI to HDMI. It works great! I love these new monitors. I have one hooked up to VGA and the other to HDMI (DVI) I can't tell which one is better. I have seen the complaints, but I don't have a single complaint. Plug and play and they are spectacular! Especially for less than a hundred bucks each. And yes, there are definitely the 4 tiny screw holes on the back so you can mount these to an arm. They had rubber plugs in them. Pull the plugs and insert your screws. I had to buy longer screws for these monitors. The plastic on the back seems to be a bit thicker than my last monitors. I bought 4mm X 16mm screws with locks and flats. I made an excellent choice. If you buy one I don't think you will regret it.S.

For the half con/half pro point: Yes, the speakers are pretty lame, but this is only a partial con for me because I didn't expect much from them anyway. I only need them to be able to produce system sound cues when I am not using headphones for specific audio/media tasks. They are good enough for my needs. Overall: The experience is a neutral wash. I like the specs and I like the look and feel of the monitor during the day, but come evening it is a massive hassle to try adjusting brightness, and it was a massive hassle to adjust any/all of it's settings to where I needed them for my art needs in the first place. I wouldn't recommend it if one has an option for better. Go for something which will be good to your eyes AND be good to your arm when accessing the menu/features.Alex A.

I am installing these in client studios, for inexpensive multiview monitors when technicians are out of eyesight of the main multiview monitor. Great value to have the speakers included although we don't always use them. After several months of use, the brightness faded significantly. Getting warranty support was extremely difficult. Long hold times. Finally got hold of someone, and they had me send it in for repairs which took over two weeks. Got the monitor back, turned it on and within five minutes it faded again! It is now being boxed up for repairs a second time, and I will be without a monitor for another two weeks. I expect that this process will go on until the one-year warranty ends, and then LG will tell me that the product is out of warranty. LG appliances are fabulous. This is a good for the money monitor, there was an issue before when my computer turned on and the screen was more light purple haze over the whole screen. A quick on/off and it was normal. Now a quick switch to the new computer and it works fine. The only set back that I dislike is that the power button. You have to push it, then push up for the option, unlike a button that just turns it on/off. All in all it's a Fairly Nice monitor.DarklyKnighted
