Best Hair Dryer For 4C Hair (2024 Update)

Absolutely worth the money. I was apprehensive about buying this hair dryer brush but after researching multiple brands online, I was told this was one of the more beginner friendly hair dryer brushes on the market. Its a little awkward to handle I will admit, since it is comically large, but its light enough to not cause pain in my wrists. Drying my mid-back length hair with this brush took no more than 30 mins. I usually have to deal with getting hair rollers done, sitting in a dryer for 45 minutes, spending 15 minutes having a blower used to straighten my edges, and then another 15 to 20 minutes with a straightening iron. I'll take the 30 minutes of learning how to use a new styling tool and getting great results over sitting in a salon chair for an hour and a half, thank you very muchKibbles

I have mid back length thick natural hair with textures 4a, 4b and 4c coming from my scalp. Using this blow dryer is the first time I have ever been able to blow dry my own hair straight in 20 years of attempts. It was easy to use and does take time, but I feel a sense of accomplishment. I used a heat protectant and mostly low heat, detangled it and sectioned it into 8 sections. Mind you, it is a blow dryer- I would still need to flat iron it to get a bone straight style, but this certainly exceeded my expectations and has been a joy to use. I am so grateful for the product and the price is a great bargain for this product. I will finally not be charged extra when the Braiders say "come blow dried".Sj

When I first got this blow dryer, I could not stop raving about it. I love how convenient it is. It can get your hair pretty straight, if you let it. With that being said you can easily damage your hair. I love that this has a cool air setting, for people like me who easily damaged their hair. It's easy to use, but it also can be slippery on the handle if you're using product on your hair. I have type 4C hair, and the brush bristles help me to get it as straight as possible. First off, I love the look of this hair dryer. It is not very big, and the metallic light blue and the silver accents make it a much more aesthetically pleasing blow dryer than your typical clunky bright colored dryer. I like that it is lightweight as it makes it easy for me to hold and maneuver around my head/hair as I am blow drying. I also like that it is not super loud compared to my previous hair dryer, however this hair dryer does not blow air quite as strongly as my previous dryer. Perhaps it is a trade off to consider whether you'd prefer a quieter and smaller hair dryer like this one, or a louder but more powerful hair dryer. Regardless, this dryer still gets the job done and dries my hair at a sufficient speed. I also appreciate the large cold air button, which makes it very easy to continually press for cold air when styling my hair (other hair dryers have a small and stiff cold air button which makes it hard for me to press for longer periods of time). I do feel my hair feels slightly less damaged with this dryer compared to my previous dryer, especially since it is easier for me to press the cold air button to use cool instead of hot air. The ion technology helps, but I don't feel it is much different from my previous hair dryer as that had ionic technology as well. Overall, I have enjoyed using this blowdryer and will continue to use it, though I wish it had a bit more torque/power to it. I definitely needed a new dryer and honestly am really like this Conair SmoothWrap powered by InfinitiPro by Conair. First it came all nicely fit in the box and had plastic wrapped on the different part to keep it from scratching up and breaking. It was easy to figure out even without the directions. The attachments easily pop on and off, but not so easy that they fall off during use. It has 2 different settings for the dryer speed, and 3 different heat settings. The heat settings are cool, warm and hot for different hair types and even states which settings you should use in the manual. The concentrator attachment is for smooth and sleek styles and helps direct the airflow to create that look. The diffuser is for making a wavy look. I had never actually used a diffuser before so I read the directions and watched a couple videos and it was pretty simple to use. Another good thing about this is you can remove the back and clean out the filter which will help your dryer last longer and get you better results. But the thing I really like is that this dryer is just beautiful looking too. I love the color and the design and shape. It is easy and comfortable to hold and not too heavy. It also is not too loud. I have super fine dry hair that is definitely heat damaged, so it’s important for me in selecting haircare products, that they protect my hair. I’d never heard of Dual Ion Therapy, but was exited to learn the science behind this hairdryer—it uses negative and positive ions together to help my restore my hair’s natural balance. It also helps leave my hair smooth and my hair felt like it had more volume and it definitely felt softer. The dryer is aesthetically nice, easy to use and I did notice a difference in drying time. And common sense tells me that the less time I have to spend drying my hair, the better it is for my hair not being exposed to the heat. Just replaced my L'ange dryer brush with this DryBar model (my old one had lost most of its bristles after years of use). The Single Shot far exceeded my expectations after only one use. I'm loving the results from the round shape, as opposed to the oval of my previous dryer, as it helps with volume and gives my hair a slight bend that I previously needed an iron to achieve. My L'ange would get so hot I couldn't touch my hair for a minute after a couple of passes. It also made my bathroom hotter, and I'd have to let it cool like a curling iron if I was packing for travel. This DryBar dryer dried my hair faster, never made my hair too hot to touch, my bathroom was noticeably cooler, and the dryer was cool enough to store immediately after use. The DryBar gave my hair body, shine, and the appearance I could only previously achieve with drying and ironing. So cutting out a step is definitely a pro. For reference: my hair is medium/long in length, fairly fine, and I wear extensions. The resistance is perfect. Enough to achieve the result I was looking for, while being kind to my extensions. If I was forced to complain about this dryer, it would only be that the handle is slick plastic (the L'ange has a more rubbery silicone handle that is a bit easier to hang on to) so it's a bit slippery, and it's taking a minute to figure out the right place to hold on to it. But for the other wonderful benefits, the handle is definitely not a deal breaker. I've only used it once, so time will tell how it holds up…but so far, I'm completely in love. This is life changing for disabled people or those with arthritis in the upper limbs or carpal tunnel and for people post surgery. I purchased for my just above my shoulder length hair based on other users experiences and they are all spot on! I have fine wavy hair but a lot of it so there is frizz. I use a T3 hairdryer Oribe blow out cream a DryB mini flat brush , a T3 single flat iron and a Calista round brush curing iron. This tool replaces all of them with better results! I love the just walked out of salon look and i’ve received three compliments from random people asking me who does my hair . The brush bristles are gentle on your scalp. I wanted to love it, BUT… I was sadly disappointed! I like the idea of a round blow drying brush. I thought it would give more volume at my scalp… NOPE! I have short, shoulder length hair and it did nothing that WOWed me, AT ALL. I see people talking about how shiny it made their hair, it did the total opposite for mine.. it was super dull and frizzy when I finished. The tip of the drying brush was very short and awkward. It was way too slick, it needs some sort of gripping feature if they can't/won't make it any longer. I burned my fingers numerous times because of the short, slick tip. I feel like there aren't enough bristles on this drying brush. I have thick hair and I don't feel like it reached every strand as well as my hot tools oval blow drying brush does. I still had a lot of un-smooth/frizzy pieces after multiple passes with the drying brush. You're pretty much just paying for a name when you buy this drying brush. I'll stick to my hot tools one. I wish I didn't throw out the packaging because I really want to return this. It's so obnoxiously loud! When I'm blow-drying near my ears I have to cover with one hand or I end up with ringing or an earache. I have thick 4c hair so I bought this for the comb attachment but my hair feels crispy and not even blown out well afterwards. The other 2 attachments are awkward and useless. I have been using a brush style hairdryer for over 10 years. It does the best job drying and straightening my fine, frizzy hair. My old dryer died when I took it on vacation, so it was time for a new one. This brush dryer is a happy upgrade from my previous one. It has 3 heat settings plus a cool shot button. I really like using the medium heat setting with the high blower. It dries my hair quickly without getting too hot and frying the ends of my hair. I am NOT a hair person so any tool that comes along meant to make dealing with my hair an easier task I am more than willing to give it a try. This is similar to another popular brand on the market but it has less attachments. This is definitely not a bad thing unless you need the other attachments to achieve the look you are hoping for. The instructions for this one is pretty straightforward and simple, even for someone like me. The smoothing brush attachment does an okay job smoothing my hair texture but I immediately knew I would have to add one more tool to this setup to accommodate my natural hair texture and get the smoothness I need to avoid any additional heat in my hair after completing the process until my next hair wash. So I did have to use a flat iron to truly smooth my hair out. Also, because of the texture of my hair (which many women of color may be in the same boat) the idea of leaving hair not completely dry to use the curling attachment isn’t realistic as my hair would not hold up 5 minutes after walking out of the door if I tried that and my hair would become a huge poofy mess. Using a small amount of setting spray on each section before using the curling attachment is what works for me. It’s a bit of a learning curve if you haven’t used the similar version but ultimately this works well enough. It won’t give you the same curls you could achieve with an actual curling iron but it will give you nice, soft waves to curls (smaller sections of hair to achieve more curl, bigger section to achieve soft waves). This exceeded all expectations. For reference- I have thin, fine hair with a natural wavy texture that is prone to frizz. One of the biggest pros of the Reserve 3-in-1 is the size and weight. It is SO light. I can use it comfortably with one hand. The handle size is small and easy to grip. I found changing the attachments to be easy and straightforward. I think this has just the right amount of settings both temperature (4) and speed wise (3). I found the second temperature and second speed to be my most used. My favorite attachment is the oval brush. The size is perfect. The bristles create a nice amount of tension so I can lift and pull. My hair didn’t get tangled like it does with the revlon. I *finally* could get that signature blow-out “lift and pull” motion! This attachment created so much volume at my roots and gave my hair nice bounce. Fast and efficient too. I did go in with my flat-iron in some areas to manage my texture, but overall this is the closest my hair has looked to a blowout done at home. I like the design of the dryer attachment. It creates a larger surface area of equally dispersed air. I did have to tousle my hair a bit to get at the roots if I wasn’t sectioning it, but if I turned the fan to the highest setting, it did blow my fine hair around more like a traditional dryer. My hair didn’t come out as frizzy using this. I found it to take about the same amount of time as my usual dryer but could use a lower heat setting which is a huge pro. The paddle brush did a nice job creating a more sleek style. My hair has quite a bit of damage so I went in with my flat-iron is some spots, but I did not have to section and do my entire head like I usually do with a brush and dryer. I think I will appreciate this attachment more as my hair gets in better condition. I am always looking for new ways to streamline my haircare routine. This one product is able to dry and style your hair at the same time. I put it to the test on freshly washed hair. First, I applied drybar's prep rally detangling heat protectant then I went in with the blow dry attachment. I dried my hair with the blow dry attachment until it was about 75% dry, then I went in with the paddle brush attachment to create a smooth straight look. I like how this device has 3 different heat settings and a cool setting to lock in the style. I used the second hottest heat setting for majority of my hair, then did the cold shot to set the style in. I have super frizzy hair so the cold shot after heat styling is a MUST for keeping my frizz under control. For the bangs, I used the curling wand brush on the highest heat setting to give my bangs some volume and body. Overall I'm impressed with how much time this product saved me by drying and styling my hair all at once!Lauren

With all of the customizations offered, this tool includes everything I need to create countless hairstyles- and it saves me space when I travel! It comes with 3 attachments that I can use on their own or one after the other depending on the style I'm going for: 1) a blow dryer that helps me concentrate the heat in specific areas to speed up the drying process, 2) a paddle brush that helps me detangle and straighten my hair, and 3) an oval brush that helps me add volume to my hair to achieve a blowout look. Sorry, but I am disappointed. The lowest setting has the worst pitch that my dog ran away from it. It was also the setting I used 90% of my drying time and it was unbearable for my ears as well. Also, there isn’t a cold feature that is permanent- meaning if you want cold air you have to continually press down on the cold button…. For curly hair girls that enjoy a no heat diffuse this product is NOT for you. 45 mins of holding down that cold air button is asking for carpal tunnel later in life. How does a $200 hair dryer not have this feature, but my $40 Revlon does? Asking for a friend Shark. Please do better because this was a huge waste of both our time. The size of this dryer is nice, feels compact without the typical poor performance that comes with a compact dryer. It’s not the loudest I’ve used and not the quietest out there…it’s in between, it’s a hair dryer after all. It doesn’t get as hot as other dryers I have used, but it doesn’t seem that the extra heat is needed. This is actually way better for your hair health. In all honestly this doesn’t dry my hair that much quicker When starting from towel dried hair…BUT I will say that my hair has never looked better. It feels way smoother, looks way shinier, styles much easier and the style holds. My hair is just above my mid back, coarse, naturally (not in nice way) wavy, and very thick. After blow drying, I used to spend a decent amount of time flat ironing each section and by the end of the day it would need a touch up. I can now pretty much skip the touch ups, even after sleeping. I have medium-thick, shoulder-length frizzy hair with a kinky curl, and I enjoy this hairdryer and the diffuser it comes with. I have had several hairdryers in my time, and this by far is the best one I have ever used. I usually straighten my hair after blow-drying it, and this has helped me cut down the amount of time it takes to dry it and afterward when I straighten it. I love how lightweight and quiet it is. The device has three settings for heat and three settings for airflow. I like how the buttons are on the back, whereas my hand will turn the settings on some hairdryers. I like how this one also has a cold shot button which is excellent towards the end of styling my hair, and it helps smooth the hair, which helps with frizz, and it's nice because then I don't need to use as much oil. This hair dryer is also a compact size, as with other hair dryers. It's very bulky. I travel a lot and hate the hotel dryers as who knows when they were last cleaned and do not work very well. The other great thing is how long and thick the cord is. The cord is around 4 feet which helps when the outlet is not in a convenient spot. The cable also comes with a Velcro strap to help hang the dryer and keep the long cord from twisting. The attachments that it came with were the concentrator and the diffuser. The concentrator can be effortlessly adjusted for pre-styling & precision styling (all you do is slide this bar-like thing). I first used pre-styling to get my hair quickly started all over, followed by the precision to finish styling. This is where the cold shot comes into play and helps seal the hair cuticle. The other attachment is a diffuser. The diffuser has deeper pockets which I think help for styling larger sections at a time, which is my jam. I try to get things done as quickly as possible. The other great attachment also has a sliding bar for the prongs to either extend or retract. I use the setting for the prongs to be extended. My friend has shorter hair like the retracted setting because her hair is finer and more baby soft. She also said this one worked better than most because her hair was so short her head felt like it was getting burned. Just used this dryer for the first time and absolutely LOVE it, lots of power to dry my shoulder length and very thick hair. Have gone through so many cheaper dryers that have started burning and smoking, no heat, no heat levels other than low and high and no cool down option. I received this product in exchange for my honest review through the SparkReviewer program. I have used this hair dryer almost every day since I received it and it is definitely a great hair dryer. I have compared this hair dryer with my old one and this one definitely has the other beat. Even though it doesn’t take a long time to dry my hair, this hair dryer dries my hair 33% faster. I actually timed how long it took with my old hair dryer and this one and this one was faster. I love how it is very, very light. I was surprised how light in weight that it was considering that it is ceramic but there is hardly any weight to it. It isnt as loud as other hair dryers either. I do feel like the hot setting isnt as hot as my old one, but since this dries my hair faster that isnt a problem. The only con that I have with this dryer is that it is very easy to hit the switch on the dryer while you are drying your hair. When holding the hair dryer, your fingertips rest basically on the buttons and it is very easy to flip the switch since you barely need any strength to change the settings. I was so excited to get this item to review! First of all, I had never heard of double ceramic and I know ceramic is good heat for your hair. The box was very nice and neatly packed upon arrival. To my surprise, and the best thing about this product was the weight of the hairdryer. The model I am currently using is so heavy and I never knew how heavy it was until receiving this item, which is a bonus to someone who has thick hair which takes a long time to dry. The time it took to dry my hair was probably 5 minutes shorter than with other brands/models. The external features on this model are identical to my other Conair dryer. I would definitely purchase the Conair® 1875 Watt Double Ceramic Dryer | 565DCR based on its performance. I would recommend the Conair® 1875 Watt Double Ceramic Dryer | 565DCR to others because of its lightweight carrying/holding, performance and due to ceramic being healthy on hair. It just now started to change power levels by itself and acts strange so I wanted to buy a new one this new green hair dryer it great! It dried my medium thick shoulder length hair fast. Junk! I bought this thing 2 months ago and while it wasn't the best hair dryer, it did its job so I didn't return it (you get what you pay for). SHOULD HAVE! I never knew how other women can maneuver both a brush and a hairdryer at the same time. Maybe it’s a simple task for most people, but it’s never been easy for me. That’s why I needed this product. I think it’s an ingenious invention! I have very fine hair that tangles easily, so brushing repeatedly while drying is a must to prevent it from drying up into a big tangle.I will say, this device is quite bigger than expected and rather heavy however, once you get used to maneuvering it, it’s really very intuitive. Just hold out/onto sections of your hair and brush from top to bottom, repeatedly. It helps to separate the hair in layers, too. This device gets the job done fairly quickly with minimal tangling.A final note of caution: The high mode gets surprisingly hot… I’d say it’s closer to the heat level of a hair straightener than a blow dryer. So be very careful not to touch the brush part OR the upper handle with your fingers while it’s on high heat. I think my blow dryer I've been using just went obsolete in my world. I've been fighting curly, unruly frizzy hair my whole life. Been using a professional blow dryer with a specific round brush, and painstakingly drying my hair with the little attachment and a round brush for decades. Gave up on that and started ruining my hair with a flat iron. Still never could achieve that shine I've always dreamed of. UNTIL now. I feel like this thing has been the best kept secret to women everywhere. Works fast, doesn't yank or break my hair, ALOT less breakage noticed in the sink than anything else I've ever used. Fast, and works wonders. The highest setting is truly hot, I only had to use medium setting and it works beautifully. It is slightly heavier than I would prefer, but easy to use for me. A bit loud, but for this hair I could care less. It's shiny, bouncy, and manageable, without a drop of serum or any leave in conditioner, just used a thermal heat protectant spray and voila. I'm sold. As long as this unit lasts, I will be raving about it. Thank you for making my life easier and helping to keep my hair healthy longer. My favorite thing about it? I can let go of the section of hair I'm drying and use the end tip to roll the dryer, and it doesn't burn my fingers at alll. Convenient isn't the word.Tasha

Unfortunately, it is true that this item is very short-lived. While it still turns on and blows hot air, the bristles have become warped and now snag and pull at my hair, severely damaging it. The design of the brush prevents removal of residue (like heat styling products) from being effectively removed — the styling cream gunk builds over time. The "cool air" setting only works with a high fan, so setting styles with cool air is impossible. Also, the labels for the heat settings wore off within a week. While any styling tool will damage your hair, this one is particularly pernicious. I have so much more breakage than ever before. My hair isn't ruined, but I am displeased. Also, the last time I used it, my hair became so hot that I burned my hand — on my hair. That was when I decided this product is going in the trash. It's too bad, because I bought it less than six months ago. While it is easier and faster than blowdrying, you'll be paying for the time gained in remarkable hair damage.Carrie

I read all about this dryer on the website, watched the video they posted, read the reviews. (I have a suspicion 1-star reviews are removed because I couldn’t find anything negative.) I received it and tried and tried to get it to work for me. It’s impossible. Called customer service to ask if I could return – was told it’s for professional use – for someone who is using it on someone else’s hair, and that it cannot be returned unless defective. Will never order from Paul Mitchell again, since I guess their website is really only for professional hairdressers, altho I have ordered many times for a lot of years. I think it would be a good thing for them to specify for everyone to see that it’s for professionals, and particularly that it CANNOT BE REETURNED if someone is unhappy with it. $145 totally wasted.cjr

After doing a bunch of research, I decided to order this hairdryer because I liked the attachments, and the way it automates the settings. It took some getting used to, and I had to adjust the way I dry my hair so I didn't burn my scalp, but after I made those adjustments, I'm loving the hairdryer. I bought the diffuser attachment separately because the set that included the diffuser was on backorder with no idea when it would come back in stock. I primarily use the hairdryer with the diffuser because I have curly hair, so I haven't tried the others yet. But, holy smokes, this thing really works! It dries my hair super fast, root to tip, and I haven't noticed any extra frizz as a result. As I said above, I love that the dryer sets the temperature and speed settings for you based on the attachment you're using, so you're not left wondering if you're using a setting that's too hot or too slow for the style you're trying to achieve. I've had it for several weeks and I'm not seeing any issues so far. I only wash my hair twice a week, so there's less wear and tear on the hairdryer than those who wash every day, so your mileage may vary. Overall, I'm very happy with this hairdryer.Drea

Great dryer! I upgraded from a Remington that was probably around $50. I have thick hair that goes to my mid back and I can dry from soaking wet to totally dry in about 10 minutes, before I spent around 20-25 minutes drying my hair. I blow dry a few times a week when I work late so I don’t end up sleeping on wet hair. Personally I find my hair is less frizzy and way more management after using this dryer. The Shark is about half the price of the Dyson, I feel this product is a better investment for me because my hair doesn’t require a lot of styling. If I blow dry it I can just wear it straight, it’s too heavy to hold any type of curls. Compared to other more traditional dryers it’s quieter and much lighter. The low heat setting is very mild and has not damaged my hair, but I do use heat protectant just in case. The biggest con for this product is that the styling tools are chunky. I like the brush but I have a hard time using it around my head. The brush is hard for me to get to lock in place for the IQ to work. The other attachment it comes with is easy to get on but it also chunky. I think if you have thinner hair they might be more practical. Overall I love try Shark, it dries my hair fast and without damaging it with is what I was looking for.emily.s

I got this dryer with the concentrator and styling brush attachments about a week ago. I have shoulder length fine straight hair which I normally blow dry and then run a straightener through to smooth it out. It dries quickly, is fairly quiet and not very heavy so works really well. The styling brush attachment is essentially useless if your hair is not very long in my opinion – very clunky and difficult to use – a round brush and concentrator do a better job although I was hoping it would help better straighten the back of my hair when I blowdry as it can turn out bumpy with a hairdryer alone. The concentrator is really good – it has both a fine and wide adjustment which works well and is easy to use and to take on/off. Overall, this is a great dryer that dries in a fraction of the time and produces really nice results. I've had people ask if I had just been to the salon after just blowdrying my hair without using a straightener or other hair products after. I've paid more for salon quality dryers in the past that have died in a year so I'm hoping this lasts. So far, I'm a big fan!VC72

Ok. Finally I can make a proper review I started giving 10 for the support team (I wasn't happy with the the machine I received) they exchanged super fast, no problem. To me, is hard to say every product or every machine will work for everyone… I am Brazilian and my hair is an unidentified thing. Crazy!! I wash, dry and style 3 times a week. I coloring (cover the grays) and straight 2 times per year. I never buy anything without search every little detail. 3 years ago I saw Dyson advertised and was something I really considered. I went to Ulta Beauty (they just use Dyson) to try on. I hated! But I hate everything the stylists did with my hair. I just postponed. This year I was ready to go. After I use a couple times this is what a thing… Pros: Power button – isn't between your hand (never power off during the process. More volume. For sure! Almost no Hair on the floor or in the hairbrush (definitely last breaking). The hairbrush they sent me for free (game change) I will have one those for ever! Easy to hold e move around. No worries about your hair being sucked by the filter. After I style (with my regular curly iron) I still have more volume than normal. Cons: The machine is light but the electrical cord… oh my! Really heavy. I won't travel with. I didn't have that shine and silky feeling. I didn't gain any time. I always take 20 minutes to do the job with any kind of machine. Presentation – awful! It's a very expensive machine to arrived this away. I have machine didn't cost half the price and come with a beautiful box, wrap with a silk bag for protection and travel. It's like buying a luxury item and arrived at supermarket plastic bag. Overall, isn't perfect. But I will keep and recommend this machine. I asked for this for Christmas and got the blue and bronze version with the storage box. Firstly the products look amazing you can feel the great quality. Secondly I absolutely love how the pieces just magnetise into the dryer – I didn’t actually know how they attach before I got mine and I love just how this happens. The edges stay cool so you can remove easily as well which is a great design feature as no one wants burnt fingers! But the big big plus for me which makes this really worth the money (over the fancy colour and the magnetic attachments) is how much this reduces drying time. I have long super thick 2b/2c hair (curly) and I would usually air dry which would take about 3 hours to completely dry. So I would very much be going into work ‘wet hair don’t care’ but this is taking me only 20 mins to diffuse my entire head of hair which is a complete game changer. Meaning I have lovely formed bouncy curls first thing rather than elongated wet look waves where the weight of the water is dragging the curl down. I have tried the diffuser attachments on my other regular hair dryers by the way but have always ended up a huge frizz ball which I don’t get with the Dyson Also when I want to straighten it look me 40 mins rather than 2 hours using the comb attachment – my hair was practically straight in 20 mins with the dryer then I just went over with the Ghds I love this product I would 100% recommend if you have hair like mineTinK

I've been using the Dyson hair dryer (Nickel/Copper version) for a month. Initially wasn't sure cost worth it, because even at a very reduced price it was higher price than any other hot hair tool I'd ever purchased. Then I watched some videos on using it and the attachments. I experimented with the various speed & heat settings, as well as all the attachments to find they mattered greatly. I'm now convinced I like it a lot & definitely happy to have. My hair type: Lots of fine wavy/curly, short/mid-length. My hair styles & attachments used: Curly/wavy: Use only the Dyson diffuser attachment. Blow out smooth: All Dyson attachments but the diffuser. Section and start with Wide-tooth comb. A little use of the gentle air attachment with a paddle brush & Styling Concentrator with round brush. Finish with the Flyaway attachment, which really really does work/make a difference in smoothing. Usually use the lowest speed setting and heat 1 or 2. While I recommend this product, note that I would never recommend paying the full price. I have the discretionary income & could have paid full, but I waited for a discount and saved lots of rewards dollars over time before opting to making my purchase.What I want 2day

I purchased this dryer less than 5 months ago and have used it only 4 times, because I normally just air dry my hair. Today I brought it out and started to dry my hair and the motor started making a loud rattling noise inside. I turned it off and I'm not planning to turn it on again. I called Ulta where I bought this in 4SRanch San Diego and they said to contact DryBar direct that "they should understand and want to know about the issue". It doesn't sound promising after reading others who have had issues. This is very disheartening and so unfair. When you spend this much money on a product it should last longer than 4-5 blow dries. I am sharing my honest and authentic opinion, as a Sephora Beauty Insider Community Ambassador. I don’t usually blow dry my hair but air dry it. When I do use a blow dryer it’s because I need to speed up the drying process and style it a certain way. It took me 14 minutes to dry my entire head by blow drying it in sections. I didn’t notice it reducing frizz or providing a smooth blowout. It did give my hair volume and poofiness. I did use some heat protection and leave in cream beforehand but it didn’t help with the frizziness. I was gifted this dryer courtesy of Sephora, my opinions are completely my own. Drybar Buttercup is 1875 watts, has two heat and speed settings. It comes with a narrow and slightly wider nozzle for drying – a diffuser is not included. The cord is a professional length, however I’m not a fan of the way it’s constructed, if you do not care for the cord properly it will curl and coil the inside casing and cause your dryer to stop working. Just a tip to store the cord in the same way the dryer was received. The weight of the dryer is a bit heavier then I’m used too however I do really like that the nose of the dryer doesn’t get too hot and gives me the option of holding the handle or the nose. Over all a decent dryer for at home use!GG84

I absolutely hate this dryer. It runs WAY too hot. All of my clients complain even though I have it pointed away from the scalp and am directionally drying down the strands. It's overpriced for the quality. Who thought it was a good idea to have heat and air settings tied together? This dryer only knows Low Heat Low Air (Medium heat on normal dryer) Medium Heat Medium Air (High on a normal one) High Heat High Air (Extremely hot, will burn your hand and clients) It is awful. Don't do this. Please. Think about what that heat is doing to your hair and your color. I upgraded to a Dyson and I'm much happier.M

I bought this from Salon Centric. I was happy with it at first but not 3 months later, it didn’t seem to stay hot too long, made some noises, and has a burning smell even on a medium setting. I contacted Salon Centric and it ran past the return period. I contacted Bionic and you have to pay extra on top of the already costly price tag of the dryer to return it. If they deem it's damage not due to your fault, then they refund. If I was going to pay so much for a hairdryer, I would have invested in Dyson. I liked that this was lightweight. Never again. I love that this hairdryer is so lightweight and quieter than most others. I have thicker hair and it drys my hair quickly so I love that it does get hotter. I can always turn it down a level if I don't want it as hot, and I like that the cold air will stay on without having to hold the button like a lot of other hairdryers. So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts: Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi) Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want. They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total). I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider. Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6. Hope this helps someone in making a decision!Jenn

I have tried other more expensive name brand hot air brushes. They didn’t work as good as this Bed Head. This is the best for my thick course frizzy hair. Tourmaline does not dry out hair. I wanted a very hot, 3” oval barrel, high wattage. Some may need extra care to get used to but it’s manageable. Dries hair quickly, with salon like finish. Smooths hair. No snagging or tangling. I use no other hair tools. Not louder than other dryers. Use ear plugs if sensitive. I would definitely buy this dryer again. Hope it doesn’t burn out for awhile anyway. Definitely worth it, price, for quality of hair tool. Works better than expected and better than more expensive tools.Carole

First off my fault for not reading this was oval. It's about 4 1/2" from bristle tip to bristle tip on the wide side and 3" on the other. The barrel itself seems to be 3" X 1 3/4". The handle is kind of big too and my hand cramps when holding it. As far as loudness goes, it's not bad. I would say typical hair dryer. This did not give my hair the fullness I was expecting and got from my old round brush hair dryer. I can see where it would be better for long hair or for people looking for something to straighten there hair while drying. As now I've opened and used it I will keep trying to make it work, but for my fine, straight, somewhat short hair, I am not impressed.Unimpressed

I'm confused I love this dryer and then I don't at the same time. I love this dryer cause it's so light weight not loud and it doesn't burn my hair or me. My last dryer if I held it for to long on a strand I could see the heat come off my hair and smell my hair. I don't like it cause of the buttons now I know what your thinking cause I thought the same thing I knew where the buttons were before I purchased it I read the reviews before I purchased it and saw that as an issue and still went for it. my issue with the buttons is its uncomfortable to hold when drying my hair and I do accidentally hit the cool button. Despite the minor flaws I'm keeping this dryer cause it really is amazing. No you don't get this crazy hot air out of it but it does dry my hair and my mom's hair. I came here to replace the exact same hair dryer I bought about eight years ago and the only reason why I'm replacing it is because my daughter dropped it and the fan broke. It is light the cord is long it's hot and it's very comfortable to hold. This is a professional hair dryer and most hairdressers hold the dryerby the spout so there is no problems with pushing the buttons plus I use it myself at home and I have absolutely no problems with it. if you want to dryer that is for the Long haul and lightweight so it doesn't bother your arms this is the one.beachykeen71

I bought this because I just had shoulder surgery and cannot raise my right arm above my head. This allowed me to do a blow out and style my hair like I normally would. I still had to go over with a straightener. I’m not sure if that is due to the product or because I was doing it with one hand. I have short hair that is somewhere between my ears and chin. Which btw, had a strong chemical scent when turned on and the motor was SO loud. Revlon which was cheaper also did it better. Simple and effective motor wasn’t unbearably loud…However I can’t help but feel like it’s cheap.. the thin aluminum or metal wrapped around the brush head combined with heat makes me feel like I’m damaging my hair.. there’s got to be a better one out there with more thoughtful innovative materials for hair. I love this styling hair dryer! I’ve been using one version or another of it for over 15 years. I think this is my 3rd or 4th one. If I remember correctly, I’ve never had the motor blow out, it’s always been the locking mechanism that broke or that I dropped the curling brush and the plastic broke where it would engage with the locking mechanism. It’s fantastic for my medium length, thick, naturally wavy hair. I usually wait until my hair is partially dry before using and then style with the larger curling brush to minimize my slight, natural frizz and maximize my natural waves. For me, it’s worth every penny, even if I do end up replacing it every so often!Kat

Love the style and look of this hair dryer, and it does work very well. The cool setting is impressively really COOL air, and the power in all settings is strong. The reason I am giving this 3 stars (almost gave 2) is because of the strangely SMALL power cord. My last hair dryer had no problems reaching to my sink, so I didn't give it a second thought when ordering this one. It is so short that I will need to get a long extension cord to get it to reach. The last new hair dryer I bought was a used Revlon hair dryer that I got at Goodwill about ten years ago. That thing has been virtually indestructible and I loved everything about it! I am only replacing it now because we have been using it to take up some self stick floor tile and it is not looking so hot. Still works fine so I am moving it to the tool box. When I first started looking around for a new dryer it was a pretty challenging experience. My must have list… 3 heat settings, slide controls and low cost. I quickly narrowed it down to the Revlon Perfect Heat. I know nothing about Ionic Technology, 3X Ceramic Coating, Volumizing ( spell check says that is not even a word ) or Turbo Styling but I guess I have it all. I do know High /Low and Cool/ Warm and Hot, and they can be achieved with just a slide of my thumb and that's all I care about!bet-ya-luv-it

I have owned two high priced dryers as much as $400 each. Their lifetime was around two yrs and never really figured out hype. I decided to try this Revlon which cost me a grand $17. It is AMAZING! My hair shines without use of hair glosses. Dries in minutes. Styles free of frizz. Best, hair keeps its beauty even after a long night sleep. Dryer is super light to hold. I purchased this brand and model hair dryer because I had used the same brand and similar model for quite a number of years, and I was extremely satisfied with it. It sounded as though the motor of my old dryer was burning out (on high speed), so I went to purchase another one just like it. This new model also has two blower speeds and temperatures of high, medium, and low; each of the speeds can be used on each of the temperatures. The cover of the lint trap is easy to remove for periodic cleaning (just to get accumulated lint removed). The dryer is light weight and easy to hold. Actually, though, I prefer the shape of the handle of my old dryer, but this one is fine. Another plus was that this dryer happened to be on sale when I bought it; however, even if it had not been on sale, I would have purchased it. It is a good value. When the time comes that this dryer finally quits working, I shall look for another Revlon dryer of the same or similar model.571194

I’m pretty sure I’ve only owned Revlon brand hair dryers. When my last one stopped working (likely from overuse) I purchased this to use. I wanted one with a diffuser so I could try my hand at embracing my curls. I use it a few times a week and have had zero issues. You can choose from cool, warm, or hot settings. The hot is really high heat; all settings work great. It’s lightweight so I do t mind holding it for a longer period of time.sarah.o
