As someone with keratosis pilaris, I was extremely hopeful that this product would work for me. Sad to report that this product is not the miracle product I’m looking for. I received a 3 fl oz version of the SkinFix Resurface+ AHA Renewing Cream in a set I bought from Sephora. I’m glad I tried the smaller size before spending $45 on the larger size, because I have been using this product for a few weeks and been largely underwhelmed. The Good: There were a few things I like about this product. First, it sunk into the skin quickly and did not leave me feeling sticky. I was also surprised that the lotion did not have an acid scent like so many other lotions with chemical exfoliants. Finally, the lotion did not sting at all—again, unlike other lotions with chemical exfoliants. The Bad: This product just did not work for me. Because I had a pretty good exfoliating system before I started using this lotion that I stopped to test this product, I actually noticed more bumps from keratosis pilaris within a few days of using this product. It did nothing for my KP and was not really that moisturizing as a lotion. At $45 for 10 fl oz, I don’t need a half-decent lotion. The Meh: I mentioned that this product did not have the acidic scent I was used to for lotions with chemical exfoliants. Instead, it had an almost green-olive type scent. It did not bother me too much, but it was just strange and not pleasant. Obviously, I can’t attest to wether this has helped (or exasperated) my keratosis pilarsis, as I’ve only had this and the scrub for two days. So just my initial impression. I recently saw a dermatologist to confirm that I had rosacea, but instead, found out that even the redness on my face was the KP that’s also on my upper arms. So as soon as I saw products specifically marketed towards KP, I jumped on buying the combo. Both the lotion and scrub come in huge containers, so you’re getting a lot of product for your money. The lotion itself is very thick, but does melt very nicely into my arms. So a little goes a long way. There’s no real smell to it, which I’m fine with. The packaging is pretty, but nothing crazy. I don’t mind having to use a tub. Even with the sanitation question. Off initial information, I have more faith in this cream than the scrub. Only because my dermatologist told me NOT to use physical scrubs on the KP, just chemical exfoliants. With his diagnosis that there is no cure for KP, I’m hoping this will keep it toned down, but I’m not expecting a miracle. I would like both products to prove me wrong. I came here specifically to buy this lotion after using it in the bye-bye bumps box and I was shocked at the rating! This is the best lotion I’ve used – seriously. And I’ve been searching for a good lotion for SO LONG. I’m Filipino and French which equates to thick hair and dry skin. This lotion not only makes my skin feel good it makes it LOOK good. And I didn’t even notice the smell that’s giving this such a low rating. I’ve used far more expensive face oils that have smelled worse than this. It also could potentially be individuals skin as acids can interact to create different smells. I hope this lotion doesn’t go anywhere any time soon because I’ve finally found my go-to.aryelledragon

I've had KP since I was a little kid. In fact, I remember getting made fun of for it when I was younger, which has given me a life-long complex about showing my arms at all, even in the summer. I had kind of given up hope of every being confident in tshirts & tank tops, until I met this line of products! This lotion, combined with the scrub, has greatly reduced the appearance of KP on my arms, which is a miracle to me. I definitely still have it, but it's no where near as noticeable unless you're right up on my arms looking for it. I'd highly reccomend this to anyone who struggles with KP at all!!Ashley

I have mild KP on my upper arms. I stopped using a scrub for it because I found them to be too harsh. I am almost finished with an entire tube of this. Although I think it is pretty effective, I will not be repurchasing it. I find that if I use it after every shower, and don't skip it, I will have no KP at all. If I skip it, I will get a couple of bumps. I have gotten used to it, but I just don't like the smell. There is no added fragrance, but there is this slight sweetness (brown sugar, honey?) to it that I just don't like and don't want on my skin.nancygiaee

I do not remember how I discovered this lotion, as I have been purchasing it for some time now, but my entire adult life, the skin on my hands would crack and bleed, and no lotions would prevent it. I apply this lotion every two or three days at night, and it rejuvenates my skin and has completely stopped the cracking and bleeding. I also use it a couple of days after shaving my legs to exfoliate and prevent ingrown hairs. The price is well worth it. It is very thick, and you do have to put some effort into getting it out of the bottle towards the end, but I would imagine you could find a pump if needed. It's not a big deal for me, though.RR

I was recommended this product by my provider for hyperpigmentation on my body. I used it on a continuous basis for over a year and did not see much difference in my hyperpigmentation, but it did leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. I have very sensitive skin and it did not cause irritation nor breakouts. I liked that it was fragrance free and absorbed quickly into the skin, leaving no residue nor stickiness. However, I discontinued use because I noticed that my skin tone was starting to look blotchy. I did some research and learned that glycolic acid can have adverse affects in regards to skin tone on persons with darker complexions (I would consider myself to have light-medium tone with neutral undertone), therefore, instead of lightening and evening out the skin tone, it could actually do the opposite. I don't know if this was the cause, but my skin tone has not gotten any blotchier since I discontinued. Also, the packaging is not the best – it can be difficult to dispense the lotion (need some hulk hands to squeeze it out). The resurface range from Neostrata is incredible – it honestly makes your skin GLOW! I cant believe the results Ive seen they are amazing. My skin feels overall healthier, brighter, and also acne free. It is now my go too routine and I wouldn't use any other brand. I have actually experimented when money was tight and stopped using this product for about two months or so… and my skin completely transformed back to dull/ acne prone face that I began with before starting to use this product about 12-14 years ago! No irritation for me at all, ps I'm an experienced acid and retinol user. After one night use, I dont see the difference yet I feel the difference on my face by touching it. Bumps on chin and forehead are smaller, I dont expect skin tone have big change in a night, skin care is not breach. I use this straight after toner, can describe as using it alone. My skin is super dry in winter, but I dont feel particularly dry though. After 3 nights continually using it, I do feel like I need a bit of HA layering in such a harsh uk winter, especially if I've been out instead of staying home. It's a good test by just using it on it own at the beginning. I cant wait to try its retinol 0.5% when my current serum runs out. I heard its strong, I'm exciting for this brand. Containing the same 4 citrus oils as the 'Ready Steady Glow' tonic plus the same Lactic Acid, this is like a body version of the tonic and it's both brightening and exfoliating, whilst it lightly moisturizes. I don't find it works quite as well on KP as Ameliorate or Cerave, but the glow I get from this is something I don't get with either of those. Yes the artificial citrus scent is a bit strong for my liking but thankfully doesn't linger around for too long, and being a serum as opposed to a lotion, this absorbs very easily and isn't sticky or greasy – perfect for warmer weather. However, unlike a serum you would use on your face, you don't HAVE to follow with a moisturizer unless your skin needs the extra hydration. And speaking of moisturizing, bear in mind this is very lightweight, so if you have dry skin, this is unlikely to make much of a difference to that. This is something you would purchase specifically for its smoothing and brightening effect. I bought this as I was getting unecessarily excited, adding loads of things to my basket (first time ordering as I was influenced by Mel from Melissa's Wardrobe). I was a little intrigued by the concept of a moisturiser with AHA – it would exfoliate as well hydrate – but expected it to be more of a gimmick than anything. However… Wow. I love this moisturiser, it leaves skin so smooth, is light and smells nice. I started using it in August, and it was a perfect alternative to coconut/cocoa oil and shea butter, which I find make me too warm and sweaty in the summer. This is an unexpected find that I know I will always want to have on hand. I recommend it to everyone and have told all my friends about it. This product works way different than I was expecting, in the most pleasant way! My face is uncharacteristically soft and supple after each use. And with the frequency of using 2-3 times a week as it suggests, my skin has kept an even glow and tone in-between days! I really truly wasn’t expecting that and I’m so glad I finally tried this product! All the credit goes to my “skin-guru” friend Rashauna. She’s been repping Farmacy for years. I’m using a combination of other anti aging products, so it’s not clear exactly if this product specifically is the reason my skin feels soft, hydrated and smooth. But I’ve had no issues using this product and I’m almost done the bottle. I did not have any redness or irritation, but I also have normal skin type. I started off using it twice a week as instructed by a Sephora employee. Then slowly to every night as tolerated and have had no issues. Ever since I started using it, I’ve noticed I’m getting significantly less breakouts and my skin doesn’t get oily during the day anymore. I have suffered with KP since I can remember. I used to have it on my thighs, cheeks and arms, but with age, it went away on my cheeks and thighs. I had bumpy legs and arms due to kp but never really wanted to spend a lot to fix the issue. Many other lotions are much more expensive compared to this one. I noticed the issue I had getting worse and decided to get something to help. This lotion is very cost effective. The pump that came with it didn’t work, but luckily, I had an empty bottle of a different lotion that still worked. After using this for about 2 months, I noticed a drastic difference. My legs and arms are so smooth and almost all the bumps are gone! The smell is awful, but it dissipates once it dries, so that’s not an issue for me. there is no scent. the frequency of use this twice daily before my moisturizer since i have very dry and sensitive skin. the formula is gentle and even if it's an oil, it immediately gets absorbed by my skin. my skin feels soft and moisturized without excess oil. the price is also affordable compared to the size of the bottle. the packaging is also nice.iHerb Customer

This serum has been fantastic for my combination skin. It goes on really well does not feel tacky or greasy and after a few weeks my skin is feeling smoother and looking brighter. If you’re trying to get those stubborn wrinkles disappear, then this is the way to go. On application, you can already feel the serum hydrating you skin. So I didn't use this treatment every night. I ended up making it an every-other-night or every-two-nights routine. It's very smooth and easy to rub into your skin. It says it takes 8 weeks to see results (brighter skin, reduced signs of aging), and since I haven't had this product for 2 months yet, I can't say that I notice any difference in my skin. Any time I see that a product contains acid (this one has hyaluronic and glycolic acids), I get a little nervous as to how my sensitive skin will react. But with this product, it's surprisingly hydrating, and I haven't had any issues with dry skin. My sensitive skin also likes this doesn't contain any parabens or synthetic fragrance. I look forward to continuing to use this as part of my Cerave skin routine. (So great that this product is also widely available and easy for me to purchase in-store.)Lars

I absolutely love this brand and the products. The toner is very moisturizing and my skin feels very clean after I wash with a cleaner. I love that includes hydraulic acid and niacinamide. I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck. The nightly exfoliating treatment also has a great ingredient list. I love that it is stay-on product. It does not start my skin and my skin does not feel dry in the morning. Lastly, the make up wipes are my absolutely favorite. They are so moisturizing, unlike many make up wipes that I've used in the past, it really does leave my skin moist. And it does its job by removing make up and residue!Sabrina

Surprised this doesn’t have a higher rating. For me it’s been a real game changer. I ordered this on a whim and thought it would be more of a cleanser that you wash off, but was surprised to realize that you leave it on like a lotion. At first I was worried that leaving it on the skin would be damaging, but it didn’t irritate my skin in the least. I do use a lotion with it as it’s not moisturizing by itself. But honestly this has been an unexpected game changer for me. It truly does exfoliate better than anything else I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot of things. I’ve always had a terrible problem with flaky dead skin on my face that doesn’t fall off on its own. I was having to use multiple tools to exfoliate the dead skin on my face on a daily basis. Since I have been using this I rarely have to manually exfoliate. Which is such a blessing as my skincare routine time has been cut back considerably and makeup goes on so much smoother. I use this product about 5 or 4 times a week. Sometimes under my lotion, sometimes on top depending on how many times I wash my face that day. I just never put it on if I know I’m going to be leaving the house as it can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. I don’t know if this will work for everyone but it truly has helped my dead skin problem tremendously and it has made my skin smoother and helped minimize fine lines a little. I bought this for myself and convinced my husband to start using a serum. He refused at first because he has sensitive skin and always broke out as a teenager. He's 41 now and I told him he should be using SOMETHING on his face to reduce fine lines. He relented and now loves this serum. This is my favorite overnight exfoliating serum. I actually prefer this over both the Drunk Elephant Framboos and the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow. The main reason why is that this serum is both gentle and effective, whereas the others — while reasonably effective as well — are pretty harsh, and can be a bit of an attack on your skin. Herbivore’s Prism serum is different primarily because it uses botanical sources of AHAs/BHA rather than just straight acids. From looking at the ingredients label, it looks like Prism uses something called ACB Fruit Mix, which is a combination of botanical extracts (e.g. orange, sugar cane, etc.) that contain natural AHAs. It also has Willow Bark, for a botanical source of BHA. I prefer these ingredients over straight acids — especially in an overnight, leave-on treatment — because I find them less harsh and more soothing, while still effectively exfoliating. My skin seems to respond better to this, and I wake up in the morning with calm, clear skin. Prism is a clear liquidy serum that feels nice, spreads well, and layers well with other serums and/or oils. One of my main night routines is all Herbivore: after cleansing, I use the Jasmine Green Tea toner, followed by the Prism serum, topped off with the Lapis oil. I have combination oily skin and pores that tend to clog, and this routine really works for me. I think this serum could also work for really any skin type looking to add in an acid serum — perhaps especially for sensitive skin that has been reactive to other harsher acids. The bottle lasts quite a long time, so I think it’s actually a really good value as well. Highly recommended!rebecca.h

I don’t want to like this stuff because I feel like I can get another exfoliator for cheaper….but man I really like this stuff. My skin is very sensitive to AHA, it makes my skin look so clear but then it also makes my skin look terrible because I break out and get so dry. This is the first AHA product that I’ve actually been able to use. It’s very gentle but still effective enough to notice results. The formula is very watery which I love because I layer a lot in my routine. When it dries it can be a tad sticky but really not that bad at all compared to some. For people saying it “does nothing”—put on more then. You will get more results the more product you use. 3 drops will cover your face plenty because it’s so easy to spread-but you can make it more concentrated by adding more drops. When I do that I can sometimes feel a slight “tingle” on my skin that doesn’t burn and goes away quickly. A little goes a long way due to the ease of spreadability but don’t be afraid to use extra product if you want stronger results. This will smooth and refine your skin. I really didn’t realize how much I depended on this until I stopped using it for a couple of days due to time constraint. Suddenly my skin was dry and peeling out of the blue. I had recently started using a stronger retinol but hadn’t had any peeling for over a week. This product is what was keeping my skin from peeling after the retinol due to the consistent exfoliation. Colorless, no smell, layers well, and effective-price-could be worse but could be better. This isn’t going to give you crazy overnight results like some products but that’s not what it’s meant to do. It’s a gentle exfoliator but EFFECTIVE. First, I have to say Thank You to @noniesofbeverlyhills for a complimentary AHA sample package of their Facial cleasner, skin Toner, Brilliant Moisturizer and body lotion. Can I say that their package was too cute. 💜The AHA contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, this helps remove the top layer of dead cells from your skin, It's great exfoliater. The Skin cleanser was very light on my face with burst of lemons scent.. I didn't mind the lemon smell, it helps with that added thought that your face is super clean. The Skin toner did its job, it made my my face feel refreshed. Then the Brilliant moisturizer which has vitamin A,B,C E . It was very delicate on my skin with a fainter smell of lemon. It left my skin feeling so soft. Then followed it with their body lotion which is also has vitamin A,B,C E. There was no smell too lotion which I didn't mind. Not a huge fan of the new condition moisturizer. It stings when I use it and turns my face all red. It does settle down about 10-15 minutes after applying it, though. But it has caused additional breakouts (maybe allergy related?) so if you have overly sensitive skin, you may want to skip this one.jen.m

This stuff is pretty serious. It gently exfoliates (chemically) because it’s 15% lactic acid. The thing is, I peeled, a LOT, for a while after first trying this. But my skin was super soft and less congested after that period. It felt firmer too. I would patch test, then slowly introduce it into your body care routine. And make sure you wear sunscreen if you use chemical exfoliants! I wouldn’t use this on your face, but I use it on my body, including hands and feet, and it’s really helped my reactive, dry skin. I’m not completely sure how this compares to the slightly different version in the pump bottle (I use both). I’ve heard complaints about the smell, but to me it smells like paint mixed with cake batter (lol) which I don’t mind, and it fades after you put it on. It’s a bit pricy, but for me it’s worth it. This product has been around for a million years and there’s a good reason for that: it works. I struggle with uneven pigment, closed comedones and large pores on my nose. This little liquid is super effective. I use it at night and when I wake up the following morning, my closed comedones are way less pronounced than they were the day before. That said, that effect does seem to wear off as the day goes on, so I’m looking forward to seeing what effect long-term use will provide (I’ve been using this nightly for about two weeks). This product does do what it claims to, however I didn't find it to be the holy grail that others claim it to be. I have issues with skin texture and clogged pores and this product does help, but nothing completely went away. I will say that my skin does feel softer after using it. I have repurchased it twice so far and I'll probably repurchase it again. This product does work well, but it's not a miracle worker. Be careful if you have sensitive skin. I've used this for over a year and while I don't care for the fragrance it doesn't last on skin. What it DOES do is make my mid-60's skin soft and really diminishes crepiness and fades spots. I use the alpha lotion after shower and together they've made real changes in my skin. I notice some having trouble with lathering. I started using a nylon scrubby and it makes a big difference in lather and amount I use. Maybe it will work for you.Deb

I have had those dry little bumps on the back if my arms for YEARS!! I tried all different ways to smooth them out. Drinking enough water helped but they never totally disappeared until now! This stuff is amazing! You don’t need a lot of product which is great. Since it contains alpha hydroxy I highly recommend using a sunscreen if your going sleeveless to prevent burning. After picking up my free sample to review, I was very excited to get the body cream home to give it a try as I have dry skin on my hands, elbows, feet, and patches on my back and shoulders. First Impressions: The first thing I went to do out of habit was smell the cream, but much to my surprise the tube was sealed. Sure it was bad for catching a whiff but actually thinking about it I was very happy for the added safety. When I finally peeled off the seal on the tube I was a bit taken aback by the smell. Being that it is fragrance free there is no masking the alpha hydroxy smell. I am not really sure what else to call it. The slight chemically, slight burning smell to me was not over powering per say as my nose had to be right by the tube to smell it or after it was on my hands, my hands had to be within 5 inches of my nose. I was not a fan of the smell but when I asked a friend what they thought she mentioned they really did not smell anything. I guess every nose is different. Use: Let me just say, the back of the tube is correct and a little goes a long way. The first time I used it, I used a dollop about the size of a dime like I do with my normal lotions. I was rubbing it into my hands, elbows, feet, legs, arms. . . for quite a while. I found that even using the amount the size of a pea was enough for my hands and elbows or both feet. It is very creamy and rich. Even using the tiniest bit took a while for it to rub in but I never really felt like it was fully absorbed in. For my feet that was not as bad because I could just throw socks on but on my hands I actually had to do a quick rinse with water and a pat dry to take off some excess or I would feel sticky the rest of the day. My elbows also had that sticky feeling when I would roll up my sleeves or wear short sleeves I would stick to my desk. I used it twice a day faithfully for a week, but then the newness of the product wore off and all the messaging in was no longer fun and I would miss an application here and there. Results: I really like what it did for my hands. After I did the quick rinse with water to lose the sticky feeling my hands were real soft and I did not notice the flaky skin. I cannot be sure because I could not get a decent before photo, but I also have the impression that the appearance of the age spot or large freckle on my hand was less noticeable. The softness lasted through 3 or 4 hand washings. I did not notice a change with my feet or more specifically my heals and ankles. My elbows lost the rough scratchy feel but the skin still felt tougher than the rest of my arm. For the itchy dry skin on my back, the cream did not offer immediate relief as it still itched with the cream on, but I did find that instead of being itchy 10 times a day I was only getting the sensation 3 or 4 times. Overall: For me weighing the pros and cons, the smell is something that I cannot get passed and I would not purchase this product in the store. Having said that, this is the creamiest hydrating body cream I have ever come across and maybe my level of skin dryness, that of a typical Minnesotan after a long cold and dry winter, is not to the intense level that this product is made for. Being that I have less severely dry areas this product is not a miracle worker for me so the benefits do not outweigh the smell. Knowing that every person is different and I will definitely give the remainder of this product to my sister who does suffer from eczema and see if it helps her. I would also bring up the Amlactin name when speaking with friends about possible solutions for pesky dry skin.Sue

I have been using this twice a week for 3-4 weeks now and am super pleased with the results. No irritation for me at all, ps I'm an experienced acid and retinol user. After one night use, I dont see the difference yet I feel the difference on my face by touching it. Bumps on chin and forehead are smaller, I dont expect skin tone have big change in a night, skin care is not breach. I use this straight after toner, can describe as using it alone. My skin is super dry in winter, but I dont feel particularly dry though. After 3 nights continually using it, I do feel like I need a bit of HA layering in such a harsh uk winter, especially if I've been out instead of staying home. It's a good test by just using it on it own at the beginning. I cant wait to try its retinol 0.5% when my current serum runs out. I heard its strong, I'm exciting for this brand.
