Best Bagless Canister Vacuum For Pet Hair (2024 Update)

Okay I have literally been vacuuming the last 4 hours with 3 dogs shedding and the Kirby not doing its job correctly the house was bad! I literally vacuumed everything I could. 1st the Couch 5stars the attachments and easy amazing! 2nd the stairs again 5stars the way you can use the vacuum head while Removing the center polls making it short was a game changer! I then vacuumed my bed before adding the poll back! Then I went to the floors. I love how it goes from carpet to hard floors with the touch of a button and the way the long poll has the under furniture button that folds the poll the opposite direction, again game changer! I loved not having to get on my hands and knees to vacuum the dog hair trapped under the different furniture pieces! The soft bristles on the vacuum head didn't clog one time from the dog hair so it's came to self clean the rolling bristles is legit! Now here is the parts I didn't like, on carpet it has where you can change to suction power, that I like however everytime you stop it to pick something up on move something and start it back you have to reset everything. The attachments attach to the long post in one spot and it gets in the way in my opinion i would like them better in a lower position away from the handle but that prevents the under furniture function. I had to empty the tank 3 times so I would like a larger dirt tank. Overall I would say if your house is like mine and more hardwoods and tile flooring than carpet I say. 5 stars overall and do it! If your home is mostly carpet and not much hardwoods or tiles I would say the Shark upright vacuums would be better for you!Ashley

My Shark canister vacuum was a Christmas gift. We have a Shark lift away upright; which I love but I wanted a canister vacuum to be able to clean everything from one room to the next. Unfortunately, thus one just doesn’t do the task for me. I cannot go very far with this vacuum as it tips over while trying to get to the attachments or if you are trying to vacuum from the floor the hose isn’t very bling or an addition metal hide attachment is needed. I like to vacuum my drapes, window shades and window seals and furniture. If I try to reach my curtains the entire canister lifts up which makes it difficult for me to get my chores done. I also do not like the attachments being attached on the outside as they get In the way and fall off. The canister unit needs to have a self storing compartment under the lid for additional attachments. The beater bar unit needs to be able to stand up by itself without falling over. I must definitely would love Shark to have a model canister that I can use from one room to the next with just a switch of attachments. Including a separate floor attachment for hard floors along with the crevice and small wand for furniture would be awesome. An additional metal wand that would extend so I could reach my ceiling fans and drapes would be amazing. Having a detachable beater bar unit along with the separate hard floor attachment would ever so helpful and will save on the beater bar unit getting dirty from kitchen and bathroom floors. If you could take these added features with the awesome cleaning power of the Shark; you would have a winning machine. I hope these suggestions will be welcomed by your designing department. I have been using sharks for the past 10 – 12 yrs now. I still have my original one I bought which was the shark rotator with the caddy turning it from upright to canister. We have always had 4-5 big dogs and a Himalayan cat. All long haired dogs from golden retrievers to Berne's mountain dogs and had a dycon that didn’t even pick all that hair up. That is what led me to try the shark and I was sold every since. Then I got the stick for when I’m in a hurry and want a quick vacuuming and decided to really invest and I love my canisters. I have both hard wood floors and carpet so need it to do both very very well. This is my 3rd and I absolutely love it. Worth every penny. It has suction like no other, the cup holds a lot of hair and dirt, I can do the stairs which has carpet on them, the hose is plenty long enough and the canister doesn’t flip over and cleans up easily. I’ll never get another kind of vacuum again.Michele

Bought this off the Bissell site thinking it was the best canister and that the design would nail what customers who actually vacuum need. This machine came promptly and is light weight, but has a smaller head and bagless chamber than the one I was replacing. Assembly was easy, yet directions were scant. After using it twice I realized the main handle and tube does not stand by itself, so if you need to move something in the course of vacuuming and take your hand off the main handle, rod and tube all come crashing down to the floor or hit something on the way down. You cannot store this machine with the handle standing, but must use a shabby slot on the back. Also the handle itself does not have an on/off button. Rather the user must push a button on the main part of the machine and not let go of the handle, as it will fall and hit whatever is in its path. Also, I have found that it's pretty difficult to open the bottom of the dustless container. So far, I've have to almost pry it open. These features are essential for the user/customer, but ignored in the design of this vacuum-Why?Bob in NM

I do not usually post reviews, but I am so angry that I decided that I must. This vac was purchased new from Canadian Tire one year ago and Bissell no longer can supply the foam and felt filters for the tank lid as I have been told that this vac has been discontinued. I have a house with wall to wall carpeting. This vac must be completely taken apart each time it is used and thoroughly washed. When the filters that came with this vac are no longer able to be used I will have to buy a new vac and it will not be a Bissell for sure. I think that a company as large as Bissell should continue to carry replacement filters and parts for their products for many years in the future. Just because you discontinue a product does not mean stores are not still selling it. You cannot expect to keep customers if you do not support your products.Gail

I have a golden retriever and bought this to replace my broken Kenmore canister vacuum. On hardwood it works ok but the area rug and front and carpets it's not good. You cannot adjust the beater brush height and on anything but a low pile it's not very good. I leave it on full power but that makes little difference. Takes 3 times as long as my old vacuum as you have to go over the area 5 or more times to pick up the dog hair stuck in the carpet and rug. The only reason I'm even keeping it is because emptying the canister is better then the bags I used to have to throw out. I am happy with its use on the hardwood and tile but very disappointed with it on carpet. I'd expect more for the price.Retriever owner

Let me start this review by saying that I have purchased and used a lot of vacuums in my day. For the last couple of years I’ve been using the Shark Vertex Powered lift away. I love that machine, but still missed having a canister. I had been seeing the Shark Canister Pet vacuum advertised on line and a couple days ago decided to purchase, and I’m so glad I did. The first thing I noticed when trying it out for the first time was how powerful it is. The suction power is unbelievable. I also love that it has 3 speeds of suction power. The beater brush has two speeds. Low and high. High is recommended for carpet while low is recommended for hardwood floors. The power head has fins mixed with bristles and does an excellent job at removing dust and dirt from floors. My favorite thing about this vacuum is how lightweight it is. I literally can pick the canister up by its handle with one finger. The controls for this vacuum are conveniently located on the handle. This particular canister vacuum comes with two attachments. A decent sized crevice tool and a nice upholstery tool. The power head comes with the unit as well. I tried my attachments from my vertex lift away and they fit and work with the canister! The canister glides on 4 caster wheels and moves great. It also has a 25 ft retractable cord. The Shark Canister Pet is a high quality vacuum that’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. I give this vacuum an A+! In my humble opinion Shark makes the best household vacuums on the market today! I truly love all three of my Shark vacuums, and wouldn’t want any other vacuum! This is my first canister vacuum. I can't say how it compares to other canisters but it's an amazing vacuum. This vacuum has incredible suction. Far better suction than any other vacuum I have owned. I am actually quite shocked at how much this can pick up. I have cats so I needed a good vacuum to pick up all of the hair in my home. It has easy to use buttons on the handle for changing the suction level or cleaning modes. The MultiFLEX is a great addition and allows for easy cleaning under furniture. The no hair wrap brushroll is a lifesaver! I hated having to cut hair from the roller on my other vacuums. I get so much hair caught on those and this one never gets hair stuck on it. It's easy to empty and holds more than my other vacuums so I can make less trips to empty it. The wand is extremely long and can reach further than any other wand I have used, making it great for getting up high near ceilings. The attachments work well for crevices and removing pet hair from furniture. There are super bright LED lights so I can see if I am missing anything while I vacuum. This can be used with the canister wheeled on the ground or carried. It is lightweight and easy to carry up stairs or around furniture. The wheels work well to pull across the floor as well. It isn't as maneuverable as a standard upright and works best in open spaces unless the canister is being carried. It's just what comes with using a canister compared to an upright. I have been using this shark bagless pet pro canister vacuum for some time now. With 3 pets who shed nonstop I'm always in the market for the greatest and newest vacuums available to help me keep the hair down and the allergies away. The vacuum has a great section not just using the hand tools but also in the floor roller itself. As someone with long hair one of my greatest battles is trying to get mine off the roller using my old vacuums didn't matter style or brand. This bagless canister vacuum also comes equipped with self cleaning paddles leaving me more time to get other things accomplished. Let's just say I was astonished at how much was pulled from my rugs when I regularly vacuum weekly sometimes 2 to 3 times. One of the better features that I've seen on it that's not mentioned is it actually runs more quiet than other vacuums I have used. The hand tools are great the only thing that I seem to have an issue with is the awkward positioning of the tubing maybe if it was a bit thinner a bit longer it would be easier but sometimes when you're walking around it'll flip the vacuum itself and turn itself off because it has 2 different ways to power it on and off. I do appreciate the actual hand tool or hand grip having its own power button and also button and also being able to choose from the hand tool whether it's hardwood floors or carpeting forces having to use a foot to change the setting. I definitely recommend if you have pets pets with short hair long hair or if you're like me have super long hair.AshleyC.

I bought this vacuum to replace my old Shark. This one is more comfortable to use due to its long hose and 4-point swivel casters. Very easy to reach any spot under furniture. My house is a mixture of carpet, hard floors, and large rugs, and I was worried that it would be problematic to clean everything properly. But the suction is fantastic; I can use different settings of cleaning power to quickly clean the pet hair and dirt throughout the house. It's a bit heavy and problematic for the stairs, but due to the long hose, the problem can be resolved fast. The container is very easy to empty. Due to a large 11 m cleaning radius, you can clean large rooms easily. The short hairs that are usually embedded in fabrics are easily removed. Very impressed by the amount of fine dust captured. Also, it is very easy to store, and the on-board storage is great for keeping the dusting brush and upholstery, crevice, and flexible nozzles all in one place and within easy reach. I highly recommend this vacuum, it's very much worth its price tag.Laura

I am allergic to animal hair and our kids have a cat so i am very sensitive to an effective cleaning. The suction on this thing is incredible although the noise isn't that loud. It's not light, but probably no heavier than other similar sized cylinder vacuums and for the most part you won't need to carry it as it's on wheels, it's just stairs where you might need to. I can reach half way up my stairs just with the main pipe and half way down. You can tell it's superb quality and does the job. It is super easy to put together and very easy to empty, with a clear instruction booklet. It's also bagless and fascinating to see what you collect in the container. It uses a single cyclone system which seems to be far more effective than others. It has a great self clean mode to regularly clean out the dust filter too and keep the suction strong so every so often you're meant to take that part out and give it a rinse. With Miele you suspect a certain level of quality but in a saturated market it's still sometimes difficult to justify the cost of an item like this when others are supposed to be the best ones on the market. You soon realise the CX1 is worth every penny once you open the box. Every part of the vacuum cleaner design is well considered, every plastic piece has a quality feel and the fit and finish is excellent and the number of tools packaged meet all your needs. In use it's quiet compared to others and the suction is incredibly powerful and the vacuum unit stable – especially compared with a "drunk" Henry that seems to want to cling to everything and topple over. You can see the carpets lift as you move across them with the easy to hold hose and even just after using a Dyson or the Henry in the same space it still picks up a lot of dust that has been left by the others. My only criticism is that when doing a fantastic job of picking up long hair this quickly tangles around the brush and isn't the easiest to remove without tools / cutting. All in all a great product that's incredibly good at what it's designed to do.Michael

Got this because my wife loves purple. No greater reason to buy a vacuum cleaner than the color. It works great on non-carpeted floors but is impossible to move on carpet. Good thing it's for a home without carpet. Everything works fine except the hose falls apart. You are vacuuming away and suddenly the head is on the floor and you are pushing an incomplete hose. I fixed that with a piece of masking tape around the top of the head piece. Shouldn't have to gerry rig a new vacuum in my opinion.No Body You Know!

I always used Bissell canisters for the easy conversion and parts sharing between machines(since we use them a lot). As Bissells age, the motors naturally get a bit less efficient, and that's expected. The Bissell Zing was a huge mistake. I had to duct tape all of the extension hose connections just to use it at all. Now I can't use it for small crevice jobs unless I rip it all off and retape constantly. It needs a click and lock function on the extension adaptors. It may not be as much of an issue as it ages and it can't lift a cotton ball, but new, it has suction that rips the plain plastic extensions that attach the heads, off onto the floor. I'm going to go with a more pricey manufacturer now. This Green thing is going in the garbage. I had a feeling the price was too good to be true. If you have a roll of duct tape and never plan on using the extensions and only use floor head, or never plan to use extensions and floor head, it will be fine for you and has great suction for that. If you need to ever use the floor features, it may be irritating and require taping. OH LOOK, MADE IN CHINA. Now everything makes sense.Brandy Lewis

I love the Bissell Zing. For the money it works very well. My only complaints are that it is all plastic. While it makes the vacuum light, its durability is questionable. Also the hose has no way of staying on to the floor tool. You push it on and hope for the best. I can see this being a problem in time and also a frustration. One other thing, the electric cord is very short. For the cost in todays world it is very good but you barley get what you pay for these days! My expectations aren't very high! I wish there was a company that would take pride in the fact that they give the consumer a well made product, at a fair cost, that would last longer then a year. I know, by doing this you wouldn't make huge profits but you would still make healthy profits and loyal customers! It would also help the environment with keeping waste at a minimum! We needed to replace our old canister vacuum. This one is great…very powerful, easy to maneuver. I especially like the pet brush (our dog is a big-time shedder). The only complaint is that the cord is way too short. I have to move the plug within the same room. But, it is a retractable cord, so that's another plus. I loved this vaccum at first but it stopped sucking up anything after just about 5 months of vaccuming light dirt about 3times a week! It suddenly picks up nothing!! I was careful with it and didn't pick up large or wet stuff and it still stopped sucking. the seals on everything were still clean and brand new and it just doesn't work.Claudia

I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.

Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. During the pandemic you can't always get what you want. I wanted to go to a store and buy a vacuum that I could see, feel and maybe even hear before I bought it. I'm a little fussy. Quiet is very important to me. It quickly became apparent that my only choice was buying online. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up on Prolux's site but I'm so glad I did. There was the vacuum I wanted: canister, quiet, lightweight, bagless, reasonably priced, well reviewed and in stock. An unbelievable sight after sitting at my computer for hours. I hit buy for an iFORCE! That was just the beginning – it shipped the next day (ground from Utah), arrived on time, environmentally packed (no styrofoam), easy to read directions for assembly and beautifully designed. This Sirena has been a lemon since I purchased it and Sirena support and the repair department has been degrading and lets say their repair services minimal.
Thirty days after buying this reconditioned machine which I was reassured was certified and in good condition, broke the base the water goes in, then another base broke, I ordered two more and I bought two more one for backup. The new base broke in the first use. Called Sirena to be told the first time they aren’t under warranty, they sent me a new one being nice they said, which I agree was. Then when the next one broke I just bought my own, and when that one broke within first use I was mad which caused me to call them. They said I was being to rough and to loosen the screws. Then the matching wouldn’t work, I sent it in with the broken hose that had the band over the suction broke. They said it was my broken base that was the issue and I had to buy another one for them to determine if anything else was wrong with it. I had already bought another base so I said send it back. Getting it back the base was clearly broken in shipping but whatever I was so pissed with this company they didn’t fix my hose they glued the broken piece on now making it unusable on the curtains and on top of that the wheel rack is broken also and wasn’t broken when shipped to them.
On top of that they can’t tell me why my bases are breaking it’s my fault No one else has complained of this issue and maybe try running it less.
And of all wonderful things they aren’t under the BBB so I can’t even make a complaint so I lose out the money I spent because I can’t keep affording 50 dollar bases guess it’s time to go to rainbow and I will ensure I plaster it everywhere not to buy reconditioned products from this company ever.Heidi Hancock

I am beyond impressed with the Sirena vacuum. Liked the idea of a Rainbow, but not the price tag. Found this product, read up on it, and purchase from their website. Could not believe how much fresher and cleaner my house seemed with just the first use. I have 2 dogs, one being a great Pyrenees. So I have lots and lots of dog hair. My 2nd use, I did a deep clean floors, baseboards, blinds, couches and drapes. After that cleaning, I could not even believe how clean my house stayed after that all week. I have also used it as a air purifier a couple times. Definitely not a quick vacuum product. It takes some time to use, switching between the power unit for carpets, bare floor attachment, and various others. Then cleaning after use. But we'll worth the time for how fresh and clean my house is now.Lesli Ablett

I am not one to leave reviews but I feel this one is needed. I am completely unsatisfied with this product and I find it strange that the reviews on their website are only four and five stars. It seems as though they filter their reviews and only post the good ones 🤔 unfortunately their customer service sucks even more than the product. You have 30 days to return the product though they give a “satisfaction guarantee” but what they don’t tell you is you will NOT be able to contact them within those 30 days. I called the customer service phone number multiple times and continuously got voicemail, I sent messages through online chat that went unanswered and finally got in touch with them three months after my purchase to explain why I was unhappy for the ONE guy that runs the show to tell me that they have a very strict 30 day policy and “there is nothing he can do”Now about the product itself… if you are a pet home – DO NOT BUY. if you have carpet – DO NOT BUY. The carpet attachment is very difficult to attach and does a very poor job at actually vacuuming the carpet. The machine takes longer to set up than anything I’ve ever dealt with. The chore of vacuuming has become three times longer and this product is substantially more expensive then other vacuums that are more user-friendly and do a much better job of actually cleaning the carpet and floor. No matter how much solution you put in the water your air will still smell like wet dirt. The idea of a water vacuum is great but if you live on a septic system you can’t even dump it down the toilet. Cleaning the machine after use is a whole other issue, it is very difficult to clean and get all the dirt out also you have to leave it unattached so it can air out otherwise it smells terrible. It’s extremely bulky and take a lot of room to store. There are absolutely no instructions with this unit so your guess is how it supposed to be used. Unfortunately there is not one good thing I can say about this unit or it’s service from the company. This is to replace my first upright vacuum (a Dyson). I just never got used to it having decades of canister vacuum experience. The upright had good power and did floors very nicely but I had issues with the pull out extension. I considered other bagless vacuums but because I like the Dyson upright performance I opted to get this new CY18 canister and it is impressive. It has lots of suction and is one of the quietest vacuums I have owned. I can use the tools directly attached to the flexible hose handle which is what I wanted and it follows like a well mannered dog on a leash unlike my last canister was just the opposite and fought me every inch of the way. I vacuumed the whole house as soon as I got it and it's always surprising how much fine dirt these things pick up.g_ldboise

First, I should say that I am the mother of four fur babies, 2 cats and 2 big dogs. Then, when my boyfriend stays over on the weekends, he adds his 2 more dogs (one big and one small) to the mix. Between the 6 animals and my long hair, you can imagine how much hair is on my floors at any given time. For my entire life, growing up at home and after I moved out, I have always used a shop vac with a pool hose and a long metal pole with a brush head; which my dad created. We always hated the awkwardness of upright vacuums and the spinning heads just never worked on hard floors. After buying shop vacs every few years, because they are cheap and the motor blows, I decided to try the Dyson Cinetic Animal Canister. Thankfully, Dyson was offering $100 off; then with my BB&B coupon and cashback credit card bonuses, I ended up getting this thing for the same price as a normal vacuum costs. After one use, I completely fell in love with this machine! There are some flaws, but the good outweighs the bad in my book. Here are a list of pros and cons that I have encountered while using this machine over the past few months. Pros: • Whole-machine HEPA filtration and Certified asthma & allergy friendly! Woo no smells from the expelled air! My boyfriend really appreciates this aspect! He has horrible allergies, especially because of the cats. After purchasing this vacuum, he can breathe so much better at my house! • No filters to wash or buy! • Holy suction Batman! This thing is crazy powerful. • Suction release trigger for when it eats something it shouldn’t, like curtains. • Tangle free turbine tool worked so well that my boyfriend wanted to vacuum the cats with it! Don’t worry, I didn’t let him. This think works wonders on the carpeted cat-stle (what I call the cat castle or cat tree). • Long wand for hard to reach places. • Everything detaches so easily and the tools fit anywhere on the hose or wand. This makes it so simple to go from top to bottom, vacuuming everything in the room. I can do the ceilings, vents, fans, curtains, windows, base boards and floors! • 21.3 ft power cord and automatic rewind…amazing. • Light weight (because you are only having to lift the wand and attachments, not the entire machine. • Can get under furniture and those hard to reach places…like the ceiling! Good luck trying to get your upright vacuum on the ceiling….or the fans. • I don’t have carpet, and I don’t know who in their right mind would have carpet with animals, but the vacuum worked just fine on my low pile rugs. • Some people say that this thing is awkward to pull around because it is a canister. While that is probably true for someone who typically uses an upright, it is way better than the shop vacs that I have had. I don’t find this thing awkward at all, but I am use to pulling behind a canister. Cons: • Canister waaaaaay to small. To give you an idea, I vacuumed my 1400sq ft home, with one weeks worth of hair and needed to empty the bin 5 times. I wish it was bigger and held more. To combat this, I take my big janitor mop (the ones they use in schools), push it around the house for literally a minute. Then I vacuum. This allows me to pick up the hair and big debris (because my dogs have these big plastic bones that they chew) all at once so that I only have to empty the vacuum once. My boyfriend thinks that a vacuum that is so expensive should require no prep work, but I honestly did this with my shop vac too. It makes vacuuming so much easier and quicker. • Emptying the bin is not as simple as they make you believe. Yes, you push the button, but the door swings down and hangs in the way. The dirt gets all over the hanging door. Then you have to use the provided tool to unstick the hair from the sides of the canister, while the door flaps in your way. The instructions say to minimize dust/allergen contact, encase the bin tightly in a plastic bag. Well this doesn’t work because the above happens. I found the easiest way to empty the bin is to go outside to my large garbage can. • The combination tool is a horrible design. Instead of being two pieces, the small brush slides up and down on the thin wand. I wish the small brush was detachable, because when I use the thin wand to get in cracks (like between the couch cushions), the brush is in the way and the bristles get destroyed. • The wheels on the bottom of the canister roll ok, but for the ridiculous price of the machine, they suck. They should have used the same material as you would find on rollerblade wheels. • Instead of being power controlled, the rotating head rotates due to the suction. I wish there was a way to lock the head in place so that it does not rotate. It sucks up cat litter with no problem, but sometimes, it flings a few pieces out. Ok I broke down and purchased a Dyson after reading many positive reviews but to be honest this vacuum has not won me over in the last 9 months. The suction is adequate but I am not impressed with the turbo brush on carpets. I have hardwood floors with area rugs in most rooms and the articulating hard floor tool is excellent and mandatory for cleaning in my estimation. The cord is a good length and the tools are well designed and work well. I have to empty the bin once or twice while cleaning 1400 sq. foot home. I have come to dislike emptying the bin. The dirt and dust seems to cling to the bin like there is an electrostatic charge on the plastic and I have to use a paintbrush to get it moderately clean or wash it the sink to get it really clean. After a lifetime of using a bagged vacuum where you just change a bag I fear this bag-less vacuum is just not my cup of tea. I only wished I brought this back in the return timeframe and selected another brand/machine!Telrandy

I bought this vacuum to replace my old Shark. This one is more comfortable to use due to its long hose and 4-point swivel casters. Very easy to reach any spot under furniture. My house is a mixture of carpet, hard floors, and large rugs, and I was worried that it would be problematic to clean everything properly. But the suction is fantastic; I can use different settings of cleaning power to quickly clean the pet hair and dirt throughout the house. It's a bit heavy and problematic for the stairs, but due to the long hose, the problem can be resolved fast. The container is very easy to empty. Due to a large 11 m cleaning radius, you can clean large rooms easily. The short hairs that are usually embedded in fabrics are easily removed. Very impressed by the amount of fine dust captured. Also, it is very easy to store, and the on-board storage is great for keeping the dusting brush and upholstery, crevice, and flexible nozzles all in one place and within easy reach. I highly recommend this vacuum, it's very much worth its price tag.Laura

I am allergic to animal hair and our kids have a cat so i am very sensitive to an effective cleaning. The suction on this thing is incredible although the noise isn't that loud. It's not light, but probably no heavier than other similar sized cylinder vacuums and for the most part you won't need to carry it as it's on wheels, it's just stairs where you might need to. I can reach half way up my stairs just with the main pipe and half way down. You can tell it's superb quality and does the job. It is super easy to put together and very easy to empty, with a clear instruction booklet. It's also bagless and fascinating to see what you collect in the container. It uses a single cyclone system which seems to be far more effective than others. It has a great self clean mode to regularly clean out the dust filter too and keep the suction strong so every so often you're meant to take that part out and give it a rinse. With Miele you suspect a certain level of quality but in a saturated market it's still sometimes difficult to justify the cost of an item like this when others are supposed to be the best ones on the market. You soon realise the CX1 is worth every penny once you open the box. Every part of the vacuum cleaner design is well considered, every plastic piece has a quality feel and the fit and finish is excellent and the number of tools packaged meet all your needs. In use it's quiet compared to others and the suction is incredibly powerful and the vacuum unit stable – especially compared with a "drunk" Henry that seems to want to cling to everything and topple over. You can see the carpets lift as you move across them with the easy to hold hose and even just after using a Dyson or the Henry in the same space it still picks up a lot of dust that has been left by the others. My only criticism is that when doing a fantastic job of picking up long hair this quickly tangles around the brush and isn't the easiest to remove without tools / cutting. All in all a great product that's incredibly good at what it's designed to do.Michael

When my trusty old Kenmore canister vacuum died I was bummed. It had worked well for years, and canister vacuums are hard to find. (I don't know why people prefer uprights when canisters are so much more versatile!) I took a chance on this model and am very glad I did. It works fine. Plenty of suction. Longer hose and power cord than my previous model. (comes with attachments, too) Rolls around very smoothly. And I don't have to put in earplugs when I use it, like my old model! This vacuum has very good suction and is relatively easy to use on carpets and bare floors and empty the bin after cleaning. It is on the heavy side if you are carrying it up and down stairs. Also poor design for the 2 attachments on the wand. Frequently, the brush will fall off because it's easy to hit them on something while cleaning. Doesn't take much for the brush to come off. Handy having them there but not all that user friendly. Also should come with a standard bare floor attachment-had to buy one separately-should be standard. All in all, this is a good product–bought one for myself a couple of years ago and then for my son for Christmas this year.Jill

Nice little sweeper but one thing, the handle to the hose keeps falling off had to tape it on so it would stay on. We didn't want to put so hard to put it on that we would crack the plastic, because it wouldn't stay on so we tape. And I know when I bought it that it don't have a small, small wide floor Bruch. but going to have one that I have fixed to fit. Have small space that I need to us this on. Oh my goodness. I've been a housewife for nearly 30 years and I've spent countless hours vacuuming my home. I have never loved a vacuum before….EVER. This new Miele is a magnificent machine. First of all it's beautiful. It is designed so well. Every part clicks into place with such easy precision. Every part is very easily accessible and well made. The controls on the handles are genius. Pure genius. And performance?? WOW. Its quiet. There is NO smell or odor or dust when I vacuum!! I didn't realize all of these years how much my past vacuums put out dirt,dust,smells…YUCK! I'm 52 years old and I can vividly remember the smell that would come from our very expensive Kirby vacuum from my childhood. It always smelled like our dog….ewww! I'm so happy with my Miele that I have yet to put it away! I've used it everyday since it arrived and I love to just look at it! The retractable cord works seamlessly. The wand holders on the unit are fabulous. The power head brings tears to my eyes…..all of the choices for power level and height are wonderful. My home is 95% wood floors and we have many area rugs. I used to hate having to use different vacuums to clean either the wood floors or the rugs. Now my problem is solved. Instead of dreading vacuuming I'm delighted to plug in my miele!!!jewelrymama

It’s a transition for me to not see what I’ve picked up and wait for an indicator light to tell me when to change the bag, but I look forward to it! I previously had a bagless canister with another maker. The cord on this one practically gets me through my house. I was surprised how long it is. I was excited about the light, but it’s not what I expected because the light I needed was for the hard floors and it is only on the carpet attachment. Don’t get me wrong, as I love this vacuum! This is by far the very best vacuum I have ever owned and I suspect I will not have to buy another one again. The Uniq not only has strong suction, it also has suction control which allows me to fine tune the suction based on what I am cleaning. This vacuum is extremely quiet, so much so that I can use it in the early morning and not wake up my children. The bags are large and go a long way. Lots of finger tip controls and height adjustments for the big power head. It really does make my life easier when using this vacuum. I feel spoiled by my Miele UniQ but I am worth it.Elsa

The touchless vacuum is absolutely terrific at picking up whatever dirt or debris you sweep near it. You can choose to put it on automatic mode, where it will pick up anything that comes close to it, or you can put it on manual mode, where you push a button near the floor to pick up what you have swept close to it. It has great suction & picks up everything quickly & efficiently. When you have filled the inside section that holds all the debris, you just easily pull it out, dump it, & put it back. It takes several weeks of cleaning the house to fill up this internal debris holding section of the vacuum. I am very impressed with this vacuum, cleaning has never been so easy!Beth

I purchased the EyeVac Pro because I don't need a full size vacuum for my studio apartment. I have hardwood floors and thought that this product would be ideal for the daily sweeps of random hair, dust, etc. The EyeVac has great suction, however, when you sweep hair, random particles like string, etc does not get deposited into the container, instead it gets stuck in the filter. After a few sessions the suction is gone. Don't mistake this for large amounts of particles, I am very tidy and live alone. So it is just the random particles that are brought into the apt on a daily basis. I am not a person that returns used items, but, in this case, I returned the item after a few months of giving it a good try. QVC was very gracious to accept the return and credit my account.JovialGina

I wasn't sure about this, but returns to my local BBB store are straightforward so I decided to give it a shot. We have dogs (so clean up hair constantly). I had read that some newly constructed home have these built into the kick spaces or walls. I set it up in my laundry room, it works great ! It is ideal if you use swiffers or other similar things, which never get up all of the debris on the floor. I steer the swiffer to the eye-vac and POOF ! Sometimes I just steer a few wads of dog hair to it with my foot… it has become my favorite cleaning tool.Rocky's Mom

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey

I purchased this for my son who is in construction so he can clean up messes for his customers when he finishes his jobs. He says the vac is so powerful it has picked up wood splinters, sheet rock crumbles, pebbles, broken glass – anything mess that is left over from a construction job. I use it all around the house and in my car. Forget those car vacuums that don't pick up anything. This canister vacuum will even pick up all dog hairs left by my dogs when I take them for rides in my car. And ever try to get dog hair off your couch? This vac has no problem sucking up all the dog hair. Me and my son have been using it for almost a year now and it is still as strong as day 1. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.E.

I have owned 3 Oreck sweepers for 25+ years. Received my first canister sweeper as a freebie when I purchased my first upright. I loved it for cleaning cars, stairs, windows and around the baseboards in our home. It was light weight but very durable. It was my go-to sweeper for small and quick jobs. The only complaints I have are the red cord… really? why red? and the flexible hose is not long enough for most chores. I had another hose from an older sweeper, my husband had to modify the older hose but now I am much happier with the longer, more flexible hose.Kathy

I have had the old version of the canister and loved it. I decided to give that one to my father and buy this. It is difficult to use.1. the hose always pulls against you – have tried to stretch it out but it doesn't work.2. The friction method of attaching the extension wand does not work as the weight of the wand is too heavy. I kept having to put it back on as it slides off and eventually the end of the wand cracked and needed to be taped.3. The longer cord is great but is too heavy for the weight of the canister itself.4. The strap broke within a month so can't hang it over my shoulder > the little plastic that attaches it – is not strong enough.5. I have always used a canister vacuum, when my last vacuum became unrepairable I purchased the dyson canister. The dyson canister vacuum is super heavy, particularly if you have stairs to carry it up in your house. The power head handle is retractable for better storage, but it won’t stand up on its own. You are constantly bending over to pick up the handle. The power head for carpets doesn’t have a release button on it, you have to bend over and remove it yourself. The canister gets caught on literally every corner, it always tips over due to it only have 1 wheel on the front. The retractable cord only retracts half the time and does so at the speed of a snail. Most times I have to bend over and guide the cord. The power head works only selectively. It will quit working randomly while vacuuming carpet, sometimes I can’t get it to start working again. I will never buy a dyson canister vacuum again. I will try the stick vacuum only because the canister vacuum has good suction.summer12

I purchased this vacuum back in Jan and decided to use it a few months before writing a review. This is my first dyson (I do own a stick dyson, but use it more for quick jobs) and im not sold on it at all, nor will I purchase another. This is not made for carpets in my opinion, and is really just for hard floors. The carpet piece isn't great at all, has stopped working on me, or doesn't pick up until you've gone over it many times. Also pet hair sticks to this vacuum alot and I find myself vacuuming my vacuum off. I would not recommend this vacuum unless it's just for hard floors, and for the price I paid $499, I could have gotten something with a proper beater bar and that actually works well on all floors.RC87

Did some research before this purchase, and I am concerned on the battery life. Therefore, I recently purchased this vacuum instead of the cordless ones. Design is nice and stylish with all tools. Nonetheless, I am a bit disappointed on a few things on this product. The main reasons I picked this model are "No bags to buy. No filters to wash or replace, and no loss in suction", and "no need to touch the dirt, the hygienic bin emptying system drives out dust and debris in one action, so you don't have to touch it". As a result, i would rather pay a couple more hundreds for it instead of the other models in the market. However, I used this machine twice and it is kind of disappointing. The design is cool, and it kind of drives it out in one action, but not completely. some dust or debris still to the filter or tip. And the other thing is that it is kind of hard to close it after shooting/driving it out. I needed to try a few times in order to close it and make a mess on my foot and floor. This is not something i would have expected. and i am not sure if the lock is durable/will last. The suction is good, but from my experience, it requires emptying the bin after vacuuming one or two room or so to keep the suction going (even though the dust has not even reached the "max line" yet) lastly, this machine comes with a few tools, which is nice. It is rather easy to clip it on and off and can use different tools on different floors or areas. I am not sure if there is some defect in my machine. I noticed that after using the "quick-release combination tool" and the turbine head, it seems to have some dust on it and I had to wipe it after use. I am not sure if there is some gap in between the "joints" of the tools or it is due to other reason. I may have to go for an exchange or return.Rick

I am a proud owner of 3 pets, which means daily cleaning up and VACUUMING. Every pet owner knows that when owning pets you have to change your vacuum cleaner every so often. So it was a time for me to get another vacuum cleaner. Let me just start off by saying that Bissel products are great, they have been around for years and they never disappoint, they always deliver great results. Therefore it is needless to say that this vacuum cleaner is amazing!!! I absolutely LOVE bagless vacuum cleaners, I have only owner a bagged vacuum cleaner once and I will never go back to owning one. It is so easy to just snap off the lid, get all the vacuumed up dirt dumped out on your trash can and be done with it. Now I have to say that I haven't had this type of a vacuum cleaner since the early 2000s but upon receiving it and trying it out I have to say that it is not too bad at all. I love the fact that this vacuum cleaner has got a self rewinding cord feature, which I LOVE in any vacuum cleaner, it is so easy to get all the cord put back up with just a push of a button and not having to wrap it up around the back base of the canister. The attachment hose from a canister to the shaft of the vacuum stick is pretty long, which allows you a pretty good stretch, about 6 feet long which is impressive. I love the suction that this vacuum cleaner offers, it's great, it picks up every drop of dog and cat hair combined effortlessly and leaves beautiful "just vacuumed " Mark's on the carpets. I appreciate the fact that every single filter inside the canister is washable therefore I can easily wash them whenever is necessary, dry them out and keep using them on my day to day basis. The vacuum cleaner also allows swivel steering which is , I feel like, a must in a ny household. The only thing that I really wish was different about this product is the actual canister. I wish it was larger a bit. It is a little bit smaller than any other vacuum cleaner that I have ever owned, which means it will not hold up as much dirt and I will have to empty it out more frequently. Other than that it is an excellent product indeed, its is very lightweight and does its job well. I most definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner to all the shoppers.ksjch

I love my new vacuum. Love the handle that extends so I don't have to bend so much, easier on my back. It sure does an excellent job of picking up dirt. I also love my glider that I have used with my steam mop. Overall, I am very satisfied, I received my vacuum the day after I ordered and the glider a few days later. My only regret is that I ordered after receiving an email welcoming me and thanking me for joining the Bissell community and offering me a coupon code for 15% off my next purchase. I clicked on the "shop now" option to order my vacuum and glider but did not feel "welcomed" at all as after a few attempts of trying to apply my coupon code (W2-LNMA-OQHZ-2D7W-WSMH) at checkout, it was not accepted. I placed my order just the same as I wanted the glider which is only available from you directly plus the vacuum to add to my Bissell power mop and my Bissell little green machine cleaning arsenal. The Bissell vacuum came beautifully and safely packaged so that no parts were damaged. The parts were easy to unpack and intuitively assembled even without reference to the directions. There were no extra wires to hook up to power the attachments. The first test was on a throw rug frequented by dogs and human traffic. With little effort, the vacuum cleaned the rug with a minimum of repeat vacuuming, as evidenced by the fact that when the rug was shaken and no grit, gravel or hair fell out of this once very dirty rug. The second test was on engineered wood floors and linoleum, where the vacuum performed with the same efficiency, picking up crumbs, grit, dust, and bits of adhesive material from paint scraping. The only item that the vacuum did not handle well were slightly heavier pieces such as small nails and screws. The third test was with an attachment to clean window sills, which it did admirably, as well as curtains, ledges and corners. You just have to remember to turn the power back on when you reattach the floor attachment. The canister was lighter and portable, either to carry or roll on the wheels, which also came apart for cleaning. The power cord was long, with orange and red marks to indicate when the cord is fully extended. The retraction feature was helpful although you have to turn the vacuum off to use it. At the end of the testing, I was able to completely disassemble the canister to empty the dirt, clean the filters, and clean the canister. Be sure to open it over a trash can, because dirt fell out immediately. The canister was easy to clean with water and reassemble for the next use. The only drawback was that human hair wrapped around the rollers and had to be cut to remove. Overall, this vacuum was the most versatile and effective vacuum that I have used.LaRanchera
