Certainly does the most work for the buck of any pool cleaning product out there. Reasonable price and little cost to operate. No real set up to do so it is good for both doing the whole pool and for quick spot cleaning. Perfect to pre-clean at opening before letting the robot finish the opening cleaning. Now my robot can finish the opening in one cycle or so as there is no more large debris. Good width makes the cleaning go fast. I have had this a few years. There are a couple of drawbacks to an overall excellent buy. It cannot be your only cleaning device because at some point you will need to clean something very fine like DE which escapes into the pool or fine sand, but you can use it most of the time. Also, the collection bag has a weak point; the draw string deteriorates and the bag must be replaced when it goes. Since the bag itself is sturdy, better material for the draw string would be a big plus as it would extend the bag life, and I would gladly pay extra next time I have to replace the bag for a more durable drawstring. There is an additional use that the company has not noted. I use it on the bottom 85% of the time and on the surface 5% of the time as in their ad. But I use use 10% of the time to hold it against the side and move it along the waterline all around the pool — it will pull in all the debris clinging to the waterline.MRE
I used it once and it worked fine. I tried a week later and it wouldn't work. I opened the battery compartment and it had water in it, the batteries were corroded. When I pulled out the battery pack. A wire was broken off the switch. I hope I can get another switch or this is going in the garbage. Instructions said Don't over tighten, so I hand tightened the screws, which I guess wasn't good enough. I recommend opening the battery compartment and drain any water after us and leave open to dry out.Tom
The idea of this vac is great! It is perfect for me w lots of pinestraw/wisteria leaves in pool. This is my third one. 1st one: tiny wire in the battery compartment came apart. I think that is from the very tight fit from the battery pack being pushed in/out. 2nd one: on/off button stop working and water getting into the battery compartment. The whole thing is plastic and the price is low so I knew What I was getting. Again, the idea is great and it works great but someone needs to improve the making of it to last. For a little vacuum it does great so far. Still waiting on the pole to come in, but it will be here soon To make a long story short, a good amount of sand was spilt in our above ground pool. Last night we tried it out without the pole. It was sucking up the sand. the bag is little, so a lot of cleaning out the bag took place. sometimes we did not get a good suction, but redid the bag and would work. I think the batteries took about 4 hours to charge. To be honest we did not use it long enough to see how long the batteries will last. We will know once the pole comes in. I have read some reviews on the pole, but if it comes down to it; we will go to hardware store and get something that will work with it.Kim
This is my second Catfish; the first one bit the dust after 6 hard years of service. The new one is much improved, especially in regards to the waterproofing of the inside unit.Regretfully, the new unit would not turn on after repeated tries to charge. Got a MRA (return authorization) on the seller website and shipped it UPS. I bought this vacuum three years ago, after we purchased a 15 foot pool. My filter, which is super cute but nothing like the one I had growing up, was not compatible with a vacuum, so this was my only option. I read the reviews, the suggestions on making it last, and I am now on year 3 of using it. I make sure to never overcharge it, I clean it with the hose immediately after use, I store it in the house, and that's about all I have done to "make it last." It works incredibly well and I have never run out of power-even after using it several times on my hot tub, for its bi-annual deep clean, having it sit a day, and then vacuuming the pool for 20 minutes (whose bright idea was it to put the pool under the trees for shade?!). It picks up everything from leaves to "helicopters" to tiny bugs to clumps of God knows what (did I mention the tree situation?). It has been well worth the money and I love that I don't have a huge hose following me around or the need to backwash after vacuuming. I won't even let my teens use it because I find it so relaxing and satisfying-though I do tell them I'm taking one for the team and not giving it to them as a chore 🙂 If The vacuum broke tomorrow, I would feel I got more than my money's worth. We have an an above ground pool. The small vacuum that came with it broke and parts are, of course, back ordered. We saw this ad and after reviewing the return policy in case we didn't like it, ordered it. From the minute we saw it we were pretty excited but when we finished the first charge and used it we totally FELL IN LOVE with this product, especially the large capacity. It is so easy to use and picks up basically everything. Our pool had considerable algae from not having a vacuum for a couple of weeks but after 2 or 3 uses this picked up 95%! I got this because I thought "there has to be a better way" since we just brush every couple of days. We have an in ground pool, a weekly cleaning with this keeps the bottom clear. The little vacuum robot you leave in the pool just never worked properly for us- it always got stuck in one corner. This vacuum is amazing and keeps the pool clean! This item does only last about 30 minutes, which is why I knocked off a star. It also needs to get cleaned (the filter) frequently during use, which gets less frequent if you're consistent with vacuuming (less to clean up). A better battery life would make this much more convenient.Caro
I had my reservations about this item before making the purchase. However I will tell you this little vacuum is great. I can not believe what it vacuums out of the pool. I have a 22x 7 inground pool, This vacuum can clean the entire pool in a matter of minutes. I was shocked at how useful this product is and how well it is designed. It comes with plastic poles but I used my skimmer aluminum pole which attached directly to this Pool Blaster. The battery lasts pretty long between charges. The filter element catches sand leaves and dirt. The unit comes apart for easy cleaning. I am impressed so far. I have used it several times now and it has accomplished what i need it to do. It does not replace a vac that scrubs or one that is robotic, however for general cleaning of quick spot cleaning this thing is worth every penny. Th only thing I wish it had was a hook to hang it. The Intex 28620EP is perfect for removing small particles from the floor of our outdoor spa. Since it has NiMH batteries instead of Lithium, it is priced lower and it has enough suction to pick up the debris in its path. It comes with a regular filter and two sock-like bags for capturing very fine particles. It also comes with an extendable pole which lets me reach everywhere in the spa, and it comes with two head attachments for moving around different terrain and angles. It does not come with a charging source, just a USB type cable to connect to a phone or other charging block. Charging takes 6 – 8 hours, and run time is reportedly only about 20 minutes, but that's long enough: I've used it 3 times so far but I'm done in about 10 minutes so it's never run out of power too soon. You do need to move it slowly so as not to stir up the debris, and the power comes on only when it has been submerged and the power switch is on. It is very quiet so you have to watch it work rather than hear it. After years of having difficulty getting the floor of our spa clean, this little unit has made me wish I found it a long time ago.cyberclg
I was worried about this having NiMh batteries instead of LiOn batteries, but I have been using this to clean my Spa for over a month and have not had to recharge yet. I did fully charge it overnight before the first use. I was also worried about the suction power, because I saw several bad reviews about it. It has great suction power, at least when I leave attachments off (I haven't tried them because I want a small focus point for small areas). It pics up all the small particles in all the corners as well as larger leaves. It turns on only when submerged to protect the pump. It is very easy to clean. The telescoping handle makes it easy to reach everywhere in my spa. In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about the negative reviews, I find that most negative reviews are operator error, negative Nellies that can never be satisfied, or the rare lemon that might escape a manufacturer.David A.
Love it! I made sure to directly take it out to use after charging it when the light was green showing it’s ready to suck. Pun intended. I have a 10×20’ intex pool and it took about a half hour or so to cover it completely but picked up the dirt and debris. I have my pool away from trees with leaves so haven’t had to deal with big leaves. But round one of cleaning went great! Glad I didn’t get a robotic one bc this isn’t bad at all!Update. Make sure when you are going for removing algae to put the white sleeve over the black one. You insert the white sleeve into the black one first and make sure the thicker part of the rim of the white one extends completely below where the black ones rubber rim ends otherwise it doesn’t make a good deal when you place them together into the end of the vacuum. You have to pull the battery holder out to change the batteries and the attached flimsy wiring broke on the second battery replacement. My neighbor had the same problem. I wish I never bought. It is a big waste of money. It didn't last 10 minutes. The leaves stuck one the 3 plastic bars above the fan. The batteries died and when I took them out they were hot and battery acid was running out the end of one battery and after replacing batteries the product does not work.tmmh1992teresa
This battery powered leaf vac performs amazingly well. It is light weight, yet strong. I think a picture is worth a thousands words but I don't know if I can post a picture here. It took about 30-minutes to remove these leaves with very little effort. No more dragging the heavy water laden hose around. I love this and wanted to share with everyone, that it is worth every penny and I've had no problems with water in the battery compartment. None at all. The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. This cleaner was included in the price of our new pool. At first it did a good job cleaning the pool and covered most areas. It is sensitive to the RPM of the pool pump and if the RPM is too high the cleaner climbed the wall until it sucked air. Fortunately I was outside and heard the pool pump screaming at max RPM and I shut it off. I lowered the pump RPM and adjusted it until the cleaner went up the pool wall about halfway before turning and going back to the bottom. I was happy with the cleaner at this point. After a few months I noticed it was not moving and turned off the suction then removed the hose. A piece of “O” ring was lodged in the intake port on the side of the pool. Thankfully it wasn’t sucked into the underground pipe and wedged somewhere in there which could have caused a huge problem. We called the pool company who picked up the cleaner then returned it a week later saying it was repaired. After less than a week it was not working again so it was tossed in the trash. I researched pool cleaners and saw the shark was over $300 and I wouldn’t purchase another one anyway. We decided to purchase a more expensive robotic pool cleaner and have been very happy with it.
I purchased a Kreepy Krauly about ten years ago and it made my pool cleaning and my life a lot easier! It was a great purchase. The fins and pads on the bottom eventually wore out and I decided rather than having to do a repair, I would just purchase a new one. I'm glad I found this unit on eBay. The first one that was delivered to my home was missing a piece and I called customer service and a replacement was sent out asap. I got it today and I love this thing. If you go slowly as you are sucking in the sediment on the bottom of the tub it will not move away from the vac as some reviews state. After you pull the plunger back life it slowly away from the area you are working on and pump the water back in the tub the gunk will stay in the filter. Then slowly lower it again to the area you are working on and you will get great results. Moving too quickly will make the debris fly away. Move slowly and it will work great! Picked up every bit of sediment on the spa floor and now it is all nice and clean. I really love the way it works as long as you go slowly I am sure you will have great results also.Kipper
I have used wand vacuums like this before and this particular brand is not the best. Seems to be well built, but I have only been using it for a couple of weeks now. One issue I have with it, is that it doesn't want to pick up the smaller particles of dirt on the bottom of my hot tubs. Maybe the little flaps inside have too big an opening, so the small debris falls back out? Your description online said this model needed a separate pump. That’s the model I needed! When I received the LL 505GG. It says in Bold letters on the box, no separate pump needed. When I called your technician said it’s the same vacuum and it has the same limits and specs as the LL505G model. There is too much pressure and I can’t get the rpm’s down to 32 rpm. So the vacuum sometimes doesn’t even touch the bottom of the pool. My pool doesn’t get very dirty unless the weather is bad. So I’ve been getting by with this model. There is definitely a difference in the 2 models and I don’t appreciate being snowballed into accepting something that’s not what I needed and ordered. If you have a above ground pool this is a must. I have struggled for years to keep my above ground pool clean. With the trees blowing leaves in the pool constantly it was a struggle. I was pleased with this vacuum I was able to get all the leaves and twigs out of the bottom of the pool while I was having a refreshing dip. It also got fine dirt out off the bottom of the pool. I was never able to do this with my hose vacuum. It was quick simple and easy to use. Even though I had to empty quite a few times it was easy to do. I just kept a hose handy to rinse the bag so I could tell how much I was getting out each time. Which was a lot. I would purchase again.1029pudding
