Best Blonde Hair For Brown Eyes (2024 Update)

My hair was a highly dull off-black with an auburn brown tint from sun exposure. The ends (about 3inches) of my hair was a dark blond from permanent hair dye about 2yrs ago that was still growing out. My hair length is a few inches past my collar bone so I suppose it's medium length. I have high density hair (lots of hair strands) and my hair strands are thick. I would always have to buy 2 boxes of hair dye for my hair because it is so dense. However, I only needed one box of this hair dye and I even had about 1/4 of it left over. The box contains a set of instructions (which are very clear by the way), a sample of their shampoo and conditioner, gloves (which didn't break or tear), hair dye, developer, and an applicator bottle. I personally prefer using a mixing bowl and applicator brush. Next time, I will use those items instead. I parted my hair into six sections and worked one section at a time and started on the roots first throughout my head, then proceeded to the length of my hair. It states to let the dye sit for 20min but considering that my hair is a bit color resistant, I let it sit for about 40 instead. Normally, I wouldn't extend it for this amount of time, but considering this product was natural, I took a chance. I wouldn't recommend you do this but use your personal experience and judgement. The instructions strongly recommend that you do an allergy test (place the hair dye on inner elbow) and watch it over the next 48hrs to see if you will have an allergic reaction before using the hair dye. However, I did not do this. I do have sensitive skin but never had an allergic reaction to any hair dye so I based my decision partly off that. I didn't like the shampoo nor the conditioner that came with it. The shampoo made my hair tangle and it felt like it was stripping my hair. The conditioner wasn't effective in making my hair feel conditioned. The actual hair dye made my hair feel soft becaused it is packed with oils. I still would use the shampoo and conditioner since they are meant to work together after the hair dye process. The hair dye was a COMPLETE SUCCESS! It completely covered my blond ends and the entirety of my head. My hair is now black. I must state that this Poppyseed color (2N) is a NATURAL black so it is NOT jet black. I actually wanted jet black hair but the Vitamin Shoppe that I shopped at didn't have it so I got this instead. Next time, I will definitely be getting the jet black which is called Licorice (1N) which is the darkest shade. I can't wait to do it again!LovelyBreeze

I was convinced the only thing to do was stop dying my hair and go "naturally gray". Well after 9 months of not dying my hair… there wasn't a whole lot of "gray" to get excited about…it just looked mousy and non descript…and worst of all..juat made me look older. Go with Excellence. I normally use L’Oréal Excellence but decided to tried something different and tried Preference in same shade I usually use in dark ash brown. Well, Excellence does a better job… Preference faded and washed out from my gray roots. I had to do a double take to make sure I used permanent dye. Well it was! I have partial gray areas I use the dye to cover. I don’t recall having this issue w/ Excellence. If you have gray you’re looking to cover, go with Excellence. More user friendly also since it’s cream based not liquid as well.Target Shopper

I was looking to color my hair auburn which is exactly what this product did. I had medium brown virgin hair with a few grey's. I would suggest to apply the product to the middle and ends of your hair for 15 minutes and only apply to roots for maybe seven minutes. I did get some hot roots in a small patch near the front of my hairline. I will be googling and youtubing how to correct that spot. I would definitely not keep it on my roots for the full 10 minutes the box suggests. There is not alot of multidimension color but there is definitely color change from my medium brown. I think that the product doesn't need to be as strong as it is. I don't know a ton about color, but this company should maybe use a less harsh developer? They are trying to appeal to a large audience, but they are just messing up alot of people haircoloring experience. I read alot of the reviews beforehand so I knew that my hair would go auburn. If someone just picks the box and thinks their hair is gonna have Carmel highlights they are in for a unpleasant surprise.Sarah

I thought the product was magnificent. The one application was enough to cover my entire head from root to end and when my hair is wet it lands on my shoulders and I have naturally curly hair. I have tons of white hair or with some would call grey very heavy in the front. I have been ill and having colored my hair in 6 months. My hair is naturally black but at 55 I want it to go lighter without anything pulling red. The results are absolutely stunning. Again more than enough color cover all my hair from root to end professional disposable gloves that are easy to take on and off, and a great tube of conditioner that can last me for about three applications. My hair is so soft and shiny and the color Blended beautiful with my already black hair considering I had about 4 in of regrowth and another 6 in of black hair it Blended in beautifully.Yvette

I didn't approve or ask for this shade! I got starry black. I'm a natural blonde. In order for me to achieve black hair that doesn't turn green after the 1st wash,I would have to do a filler color first like a medium brown. I don't want to put all those chemicals on my hair. Plus I don't want black hair! I DID NOT USE THIS! I have used feria in the past though, I have used their bleaching kit and their auburn, red and black cherry shades. It is the only box dye I will use. It not only has an essential oil you add to it for a better smell but it also helps the hair feel softer and more hydrated as well as look shiny and healthy, well as healthy as dyed hair can look. For a box dye it's not bad. If I had gotten a color I approved of I totally would have used it! My daughter has medium golden brown hair and has been debating allowing me to use this on her. I don't know if I got a defective kit, but this product did pretty much nothing on my hair. I got it with the understanding that the result would be slightly redder than the swatches, as I was using this to reduce a brassy faded red color that did not take and lighten my light brown hair to a strawberry blonde. My original shade does, in fact match the light brown swatch on the product. However, after application, there was very little difference in the result and certainly nowhere near the lighter blonde swatch that was shown on the package. The product did not thicken very quickly when mixed (which is unusual for hair color but not unexpected as some color mixes will thicken a lot whereas some will thicken very little) and turned to a gel-like consistency after approximately 10 minutes. The product shows a 1-3 level lift on light brown to blonde hair. This product did not provide even a 1 level lift on my hair, which has always been very easy to color, even with this product line in other shades. Honestly, I could have gotten a better result with a product like 'Sun-in'. So I was very disappointed in this product and would not recommend 8.5A Champagne Blonde to anyone needing a light brown/dark blonde to a lighter blonde result. L'Oreal Feria hair dye from Walmart for $9.97 in color Deeply Brown 40! Bought 1 box because there were not any more and no longer have at Sally's! I like the conditioner it comes with in a tube as a thick cream yet it has changed very much! It is less quality and less odor yet still great for cost! The dye is not thick gel it is medium like conditioner for $9.97 worth the value still as it does cover Grey and not a semi- permanent! This permanent hair dye box comes with traditional one box with color; a set of gloves; tiny shine serum; developer; instructions; and the dye! Real easy for shoulder length hair covering with 1 bottle! It lasts several weeks and hair clings to color, vice versa!roseanne .b

Love this hair color, definitely not dull. You get so many different highlights yet a solid color. It doesn't damage my hair as others have. I've learned to stick with loreal when it comes to home color. I use a blonde color and I have some red in my hair, this brings it down to almost what the box shows. I have used colour 2N which is the “Kardashian” dark brown shade according to my hair dresser. Perfect description for this shade! Super dark brown but not quite black. Even when I am pale I can pull off this colour (black would wash me out too much). The coverage is great, I have some grey hair now and it covers perfectly and lasts many weeks without fading much, however I have been using this colour once every couple months for about two years. I can't find my exact color, I like Wella colors for several reasons. The new line of purple, fuscia and Orchid, are really bright and are almost exact to the swatch. The color seems to last about a month before I need a touch up. My main problem is ease of finding this in local beauty supply stores. The primaryolors" fast and sometimes aren't brought back, or take a while to restock. My advise is to grab all they have in the shade you like, as you may not be able to get it without ordering online.tara.c

I really liked how this turned out on my hair. My hair is already pretty dark but my roots grow in pretty fast so this was absolutely needed. It does not have a super strong chemical smell, and left my hair feeling soft: I have problems using color that often damages my curl pattern. This did not! This is my hair immediately after wash. For reference my hair is a medium to light brown with an ash undertone and some gray hairs. Midnight blue is really nice with an undertone of a blue tint but no actual blue to your hair. Jet black is very dark, sharp and glossy looking. Natural black still solid coverage but a softer tone to it. Chestnut brown has a golden almost auburn color to it. Red hot rhythms is stunning when first applied but quickly loses color in less than a week making your hair look very much like a box dye job. Golden blond is true golden warm tone but again you need a professional to lighten your hair first in order for the color to take all the way through your hair. I don't know who has their nose broken, but the conditioner smells absolutely fabulous. Reminds of a salon honestly. obviously when you're dying you need to have a fan going but even that's not a bad smell. Bottom line as with any color going darker than your hair tone is always easy and possible. And going lighter impossible without a bleach or toner to lighten it first before depositing color. I really liked this brand, it was new to me and this is how I feel about it. Now that I’ve went through the process of dying my hair and the color has now been in for a full day. First the packaging was very neat and you knew what you were working with. Once opened everything was in the box with easy to read instructions. I was super excited to see the dye bottle was a twist off top. Usually I have to cut the tip of the dye bottle in the boxes dye that I normally use. The dye mixed after a few hard shakes, but once I poured into my hair I could see that it didn’t mix all the way so had to give a bit more hard shakes to get it to fully mix. The liquid itself was runny, I like my hair dye a bit less runny. The smell of it was not too powering, and once on the head and scalp it did burn a bit while I sat to catch my hair. The washout was nice and not messy. A few rinses and it came out clear. The product came with a very nice sized conditioner, that has left my hair super soft. The conditioner had a very nice smell. It reminded me of tropical fruit. My hair still smells like it, and I work all day. All my hair caught the color and came out great. I would recommend trying this brand if you have it within reach. Have been dying my grey roots every 3-4 weeks for about 10 years now and nice n easy in 6N (half a box) had been my drug of choice up to now. Few formula changes later and am ready to try something different. I like that I can easily measure out what I need to use as both are liquid and mixed in a 1:1 ratio. I love that there is no overpowering odour striking as soon as mixing happens although slightly unnerving that this mixes into a plastic-like gel with no other odour?(Not sure how natural it is?) It is odd but you do get used to it, just don’t get lulled into a false sense of security and make sure you take usual precautions to clean up any spillages etc as it does stain quickly as with any other dyes. Colour-wise is about equivalent to nice n easy one and covers grey well but does seem to fade quite quickly so have just started adding a couple of capfuls of 5N to half bottle 6N when applying to roots then rest of 6N for last 5 mins on rest of hair. Bought few boxes in a recent deal so got really good price – making it more on par with other hair dyes.DancingDonnaDee

This is a lovely hair colouring product: easy to use and great colour results. The smell is, not unpleasant, just different. My only criticism would be that using it on my level 7/8 hair, I used 8A, there isnt enough ash in it to counteract the orange undertone that kicks up when you lighten in that mid blonde range, so it looks a bit warmer than I would have liked. Toning shampoo (blue) helps. It will probably get cooler on my second use when I retouch my roots. It looked lovely on the lighter parts of my hair though so my advice would be to use it if your hair is lighter than a level 8, but be prepared for your colour to be warmer than ash if its darker. The hair mask thats included has a, again not unpleasant, smell to it thats different, but gives lovely, shiny results. I will be using this colour product again and would recommend it.aunty_deedee

This hair colour does a great job of covering my VERY stubborn greys. And keeping them covered for a good 6 weeks. I tried a couple of others during the pandemic and once I tried this, I never went back. When salons opened, the stylist was actually pretty impressed by how healthy my hair and how “soft” the colour looked. Definitely use the quinoa mask that comes with it. I usually never do at home hair dye kits, I always go to the salon. But if I’m super desperate and neeeeeed a quick fix, this is what I get! Directions are super easy and getting everything ready is a breeze. Application is the hardest part, just because it’s hard when you can’t see everything or are doing it alone. I did panic a little because for the first five minutes it looked a reddish color on my roots, but it went away and darkened like it was supposed to. I've made many concessions during the pandemic — safety first! — including my usual monthly salon visits. Too depressing to let the gray grow in, so I've been coloring myself, generally with L'Oreal. The formula is relatively easy to apply. It doesn't drip. (Not their fault, but I still have trouble with the back of my head.) I really like the conditioner that comes with the dye and my gray is covered nicely. The thing is, medium ash brown is darker than one would think. (I tried a lighter shade, which also had problems.) If I was confident in applying my own highlights, that would likely resolve the problem. All told, I suppose I'll continue for the foreseeable future.meredith.r

I've been using Clariol T & T in lightest blonde for the past 25yrs. I absolutely love this color. Over time the scent of the conditioner changed. Original scent smelled better but it does what it's suppose to. Moisturizes well, hair is soft and manageable. So many peoples ask me how I got me hair the color it is, I tell them time, achieving this color didn't happen over night! The box came with everything I needed for color application as well as after care. Instructions were easy enough to follow. There was enough color to fully saturate my hair. I started with light brown hair and it got it to a dark vibrant black. Washed as instructed and used after care products and my hair did not feel damaged. This is my first time ordering I live in Canada Ontario, the wig took 9 days to come ( a little over a week). It was long, loose curls and baby hair straight out the package. Fit perfectly fine on my head I fixed the straps to my liking. Unit was 13×6 parting space, lace was light. Volume of the wig wasn’t the best compared to other sensationnel wigs, felt like a synthetic wig. The colour was burgundy wine however on my dark complexion it looked more red not burgundy. it’s so soft and silky, really long and as for now there’s been no tangling or shedding. doesn’t shine like at all (or not that much) and feels and looks like human hair. this is how it look straight out of the box🤯 the color #4 looks so natural it literally looks like it’s my real hair, growing out of my scalp. it’s literally giving. my only problem is that it is kinda tight?? i’ll braid my hair later and will put her on, i’ll say how it goes.Stephanie M.

This unit was a little harder for me to work with compared to Morgan. I do love the texture of this unit. I love the curls Solana has. With the What lace collection I have to spray under the Swiss lace with light tattoo concealer because this lace shows up with my light complexion. Then I pot light powder on the part. I also do not wear a wig cap because they tend to show through the lace. To blend it in and make it look more natural I leave a small strip of my own hair along the edges in which I curl or straighten in the style the wig is in, then I tease it in with the wigs and spray with hairspray.Lisa A.

Dear L'Oreal, I've been using L'Oreal Excellence hair color 7R Red Penny for many years. Everywhere I go I am complimented on my amazing hair color – the beautiful color, the shine and softness. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that my color was discontinued! I, too, have tried 6R and the color was bland in comparison. I have now been forced to try other brands to try to duplicate the look of 7R, but to no avail. Please, please, please bring Excellence Cream 7R Red Penny back! People (strangers!) have even stopped me in the middle of stores to ask me if my hair color is natural (because it looks so natural) and if not, what product and color I use. I have recommended your product, in particular 7R, to dozens of people! Again, please bring 7R Red Penny back! I used the 5AB color because I wanted to cover my brassy lifted hair and go maybe a shade darker. Make sure you use 10 volume developer not the one they give you if you’re just going darker. If you use the one they give, it will be harsh and lift your hair and you risk having even more red or orange in your hair. I have a really thick head of hair but only ended up using half a bottle since my hair is short. It feels pretty soft and I didn’t lose much hair rinsing it out. We’ll see how it wears! I’m not quite sure what people are doing wrong, but I have used this product for years if not decades to cover up grays. I have black/brown hair with bright white grays and I use the dark brown color. The color lasts for two months . I have no problem with matching- because the color always “reveals” itself at two weeks- which is normal for all box dye in my experience. I love everything about this kit. I purchase extra gloves nitrile, hair dye brushes, cheap butterfly clips and disposable shower caps. I do it on a day where my hair is greasy because I’m about to take a shower (this protects my scalp from the color and my hair from damage). I mix the color and developer together and let it sit while I rub the pretreatment in with my gloved hands. I shake up the color a lot (60 seconds!) and after I see actual color develop I shake it some more and then start applying. I apply to the top of my hair, brushing it in and then I clip that section off. I work in sections, top, sides and back and then let the dye work for 40 minutes from when I finish applying- cover it with a disposable cap so I don’t drip dye everywhere. I use all of the bottle for my shoulder length hair. This is key!!!! You need to let the part of your hair that is seen the most sit for the entire time. I rinse it out with cold water only (gloves!!!) and then add the conditioner (the whole tube) and let it set in my hair for 5 minutes (also in a cap) before rinsing it out with cold water and washing it with color safe shampoo in cold water. I do not apply this with a comb. There is a comb attachment- but I use a brush to spread it on my hair and the comb attachment to spread it on the brush. You want to paint your hair, soaking it with dye. The other trick is that when I shower, I condition first before I shampoo. This keeps the color in more and I get an incredible volume without my hair getting crunchy.tiziny

I really like L’ORÉAL Paris age perfect home color. Covers grays very naturally. Blends the roots completely and naturally. This version includes a interesting applicator that helps smooth product through your hair. The creme is thin enough to distribute easy but thick enough to not run. The conditioner that comes with this helps neutralize the chemical smell. My hair feels soft, full, and shine. My hair did not feel fried, dry, straw like , or rough. And there’s enough conditioner for several more weekly treatments- it claims 8- it’s more like 4-5 for me. So that is why I reduced one star. With proper care, this color lasts almost three months for me.lisa.f

I think having different wigs are a fun and easy way to boost your self confidence or save time on a bad hair day. I bought this one from an Amazon seller about 2 years ago and considering it is synthetic and not a lace-front, I was surprised I was able to wear it out of the package, without a hat and people asked me who styled my hair! I did use some creative Bobby pins but for reference I only have a really bad picture of myself so please don't be harsh on the ridiculous face I'm making and take a look at the hair…remember this was before styling it or trimming….becky.e

It has been a long time since I had done a cap highlight on myself but I was open to switching up my hair color and trying out Revlon’s Color Effects Frost Glow. I used the smaller hook end of the tool because I wanted a subtle highlight. It took a few tries before I got the method down for pulling the hair through the cap. I think it is really important to keep the tool flat to your head with the hook pointed up, to get the best results without pulling at your hair. Because I didn’t want a dramatic change, I planned to only pulled hair through the circled holes and only in the front and crown portions of the cap. I found it much too difficult to pull hair from any farther back on my head, so there was no chance I was going to be able to accomplish an all-over highlight, even if I wanted to. I would recommend having someone help you pull hair through the cap if you are going for a full head of highlights and definitely if you are new to cap highlights. The mixing and coloring process was super easy. The mixture did not smell harsh which was definitely appreciated. I would prefer a better fitting pair of gloves to wear. As you apply the mixture and make sure each strand is saturated, the gloves start to slide off and get in the way. I intended to check my hair after 10 minutes but my timer never went off, so it was 15 minutes before I checked. When I checked it, I panicked because it looked very blonde and brassy compared to my chocolate cherry brown hair color. After rinsing it off and shampooing and conditioning with the included toning shampoo and conditioner, I felt a little bit better about the color. It still looked very light (mostly in front) when I started to dry my hair with my Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. After styling, other than looking a little more 2000’s chunky highlight at the front of my face than I would have liked, I am very happy with the look! I was actually pleasantly surprised that the color chart on the box was accurate! It would be nice to get a bigger packet of the toning conditioner and shampoo. I have shoulder-length fine hair and used the whole packet. Even putting two of each packet would be beneficial especially to those with long or thick hair. I could possibly see myself using this kit in the future, though I would probably force my husband to help pull hair through the cap. From hook to styling, the whole process took me about 3 1/2 hours. It gets a little chaotic trying to hold a mirror and angle yourself just right to reach all of the holes on the cap. If you’re looking to save yourself a hundred (or more) dollars and you have the time and patience, I would definitely recommend this Revlon Color Effects kit!devon.g

Do you ever get tired of dropping $250+ at the salon for highlights? Especially when your hair grows super fast like mine and you have to go often? I’ll be honest, at 13, I had a very bad experience with box dye (haven’t we all?) and swore off it ever since. Well, with very limited skills and a bit more confidence, I gave this box a try. I figured, “it’s summer. If it goes bad there is always the sun.” To my surprise, It didn’t go bad at all, not even close! I actually have some bomb, salon style highlights! I love that this kit comes with a cap and hook. It took a few tries, but once I got the hang of hooking and pulling the hair through I actually found it quite fun and relaxing. The cap goes on nice and tight and will muffle your hearing while it’s on, so I totally suggest doing this when everyone is in bed and you don’t need to really hear anything for a while. The cap is magical because it really does an amazing job at protecting the rest of your hair. There is literally no way to end up with bleach drips or leopard spots on any other part of your hair. This kit is basically fool proof. I pulled my hair through every single hole of the cap. My husband helped me with the very back, as I didn’t want to miss any hair underneath because I wear my hair up often. He had no problems with the hook either. (Because my hair turned out so well, he now thinks he is a master colorist 🙄) My hair is VERY thick. I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough dye with just 1 box, but to my surprise I had just enough to coat every single strand. The color is very easy to mix. Just empty the contents of a powder packet into a bottle containing liquid and shake vigorously. I really appreciate that I didn’t have to worry about having color on too long in one spot and not long enough in others because it looks goes on at the same time, another reason why the cap is so great. I like the smell of hair bleach and always have. This has that smell, but it is very light and not overpowering. My roots were quite dark, so I left this on for 50 minutes checking every 5. I absolutely did NOT want my hair looking orange (hello flashbacks from teenage years!) I was a bit scared to remove the cap because I felt like it was going to pull my hair out at the roots, but it came off with no issues or hair loss. I really love the purple shampoo and conditioner that was provided in the box. It smelled wonderful and made it very easy to get all the product out. I do comb my conditioner through my hair and I did that with this. My hair didn’t feel dry, crisp or brittle at all. The conditioner had a very nice slip and hydrated very well. I’m incredibly pleased with the results overall. My hair has absolutely zero orange tones to it at all. There are so many baby highlights that my hair doesn’t look streaky, chunky or strange. The strands blend in so well giving my hair an overall natural look. My hair feels super soft and healthy too! I was worried it would get brittle because I left the dye on right up until the max time, but I haven’t had a single issue with my hair falling out, breaking or feeling fried. This kit changed my perception of box dye forever! It was so easy to use (you literally can’t mess this up!), made my hair look great and saved me a ton of money! I have always been a fan of Revlon and I have always utilized this product consistently for many years. I attempted to use the product today and was extremely disappointed that they changed the "hook" that is included in the box. It is not as referenced in the "included" items as it has been reconfigured to now be added on the end of the "mixer" versus as a separate item and seems to be cheaper plastic. It bent the very first time I tried it and only got more flexible after only 3 hair pulls (I have very short hair) and I realized it was not usable. I even tried to fix the hook and make my own "notch" several times with no success so unless you have your own "hook" this kit is not usable. It is extremely frustrating to plan to highlight my hair, get everything set up and then realize I can't use the kit due to changes in quality.Disappointed

Would have given 5 stars except, as others have mentioned, this shade is not a “light” blonde unless in bright, natural light. Indoors or in darker light, it appears dark blonde—so be aware before you use that it may come out looking more like a level 7, not a level 8. I knew this going in but wish they’d re-label their blonde series to match how it actually turns out. Anyways…..

The demi-permanent is easy to use and works almost like a toner—I’d been using T14 toner and, due to the developer, was having problems with it lifting areas of my hair I didn’t want lifted. So I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of reviews on the Wella demi 8a and decided to give it a shot, and it did exactly what I needed it to do—it toned my hair, leaving it a cooler tone but still with a little depth and warmth while leaving my roots alone (no hot roots!).

Will definitely use again but may mix the 10NA and 8A together, as there doesn’t appear to be a level 9 in the demi-permanent line.J W

I was beyond excited when my gi-normous WELLA Colorcharm Demi-Perm Color VoxBox was FINALLY delivered! When I opened it I honesty could not believe ALL the products that were included; 2 boxes of Wella Colorcharm Demi-Permanent Hair Color Cream (3N Meduim Neutral Brown), 1-7.8oz bottle of 10 Volume Wella Cream Developer, 1 application brush, 1 plastic mixing bowl and a pair of gloves to get the job done😉. As far as packaging goes, everything definitely has a salon quality feel to it. The boxes of hair color offer this new color-coded packaging for "at-a-glance navigation and selection," which seriously makes finding your color so easy it's fool proof! Inside each box the color is packaged in a gorgeous teal colored metal tube (much like a toothpaste tube) with white text and a white twist top. The Cream Developer comes in an almost clear, frosted plastic bottle with black and red text on it. Honestly, its packaging really is very minimalistic, no real wow factor. Both the brush and bowl are simple black plastic, nothing is embossed or written on either item. The gloves included are, thankfully, not the plastic bag type of gloves. They are basic "rubber" gloves, nothing fancy…just something to protect your hands. Ok, let's get into the product formulas. What truly has me obsessed with this hair color and makes it so special is that the formula is enriched with Shea Butter! Shea Butter gives you healthy looking color with way less damage because the formula is A LOT gentler on ALL hair textures. Shea Butter is even believed to soften dry, brittle hair and repair split, damaged ends while adding shine to the hair….umm yes please! I mean seriously, who doesn't want that for their hair!? This formula is free of animaphthalatesl derived ingredients, ammonia, gluten and parabens. Not to mention it is EXTREMELY quick and SUUUUPER easy to apply! Which I think is a result of being able to apply this color to WET hair rather than dry so I feel it makes it soooo much easier to work with. Wella also makes a huge emphases on the color's ability to blend grays, gloss, tone, refresh, or enhace your color, and I really feel it did all those things. So to me you really can't go wrong with this color! It smells good, looks awesome, feels amazing and results last up to 24 washes (depending on hair type). I just did it so I can't agree or disagree with the longevity of the color…I will have to update. Also, if you happen to love your current color but just want to make it shine…the Clear shade adds MEGA eye-catching gloss to ANY COLOR…how awesome is that!? I haven't personally used the clear shade yet but are definitely going to in the future! Okay- the burgundy color this dyed my hair was not anything like the description “light copper” nor the examples of vibrant red on the back of the box. I normally have my hair a vibrant red (almost the same as the color shows on the box), so if anything I was hoping to touch up my roots and ends. Unfortunately this was waaaaay off. Now it’s not necessarily “bad” if you’re going for something more natural- but that is definitely not really my style. I also went river rafting the day after dying it and everyone though I was bleeding because of how much color kept coming out when being splashed. I notice red pigment on the sides of my face often if I get super sweaty or wet, and it has been over a week. I will say that as time went on the color became a bit more vibrant, but I think that could have just been my underlying color coming through. Overall I loved that it didn’t stink or damage my hair, and there was plenty of dye in one box to do my whole head- but I will stick with my tried and true Runway Red by Vidal Sassoon.kelly.b

I bought it and used it on my sister's hair. So far it worked good. Since I have to mix it with developer just like every other brand. I think it's a good product. It was my first time using this brand and my sister liked it how it came out. She was satisfied with the results and I liked that. I cant say more because it was my first time trying this product but when I give it another try then I'll update on this.maria.s

I’ve been dying my hair with Welle Koleston for a few months now and I am so happy with it. Even though it’s not technically possible to dye your hair lighter without really bleaching it, this color optically makes my hair look more blonde and I love it. No damage to my hair, but still the lovely blonde locks! I won’t be changing this product anytime soon. 😊maud.v

This year alone I had red, turquoise, green, purple and some attempts to blonde hair at home. It was extremely damaging to my hair and I could not tone it for dear life. Revlon saved the day! I really want to find their mushroom blonde, I am dying to try it but I used the soft black for my root shadow, it helped with the orange and looked soft and natural. Before caving in to trying the $3.50 hair color I used Ion from Sallys, loreal and garnier olia (which is also good but fades super fast) Also I dampened my roots for a softer root shadow. Rinse in cold water so it doesn’t transfer to your blonde. It worked beautifully. 100% would be trying their other colors.sarah.o

So I have dark brown Indian hair with grays in the front and temple area.. My hair color is what Caucasian people call being a brunette but it’s not black by any means. I have bought so many different shades of brown from this line from Revlon and other brands hoping to achieve the color that the model on the 20 brown black box have. That’s what my original hair color is. So when I bought number 20 and colored my hair, it turned it to almost black. So I bought lighter shades, some didn’t work at all on my gray hair. The only reason I’m coloring my hair is because it’s gray and I’m not ready for that yet. Yesterday I bought 27 deep rich brown hoping to achieve the brown color it shows on the box and also knowing that it’ll be darker than the box but it would not be black. Unfortunately it’s still too dark for my liking. It covered all my gray but my hair is almost black. Since it’s permanent, I’m not sure it’ll lighten up with washes. Going to try even lighter shades once my gray roots start showing. My roots show after a week or so, so I will look for another color and hopefully get a close match my hair color. I don’t get why they put models with a different shades of hair vs what you actually get. That’s just confusing to me and misrepresentation of the hair color. 3 stars for the cost.Love to shop
