My daughter loves the bike, she had currently outgrown her 20" bike. I have only one gtipe is trhat it priced at over 100% more here than at Walmart for the same bike. Bikes are hard to come by due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so I assume I would have had to pay a little more, but not that much. MEC experience was very good as usual. Perhaps a bit more talk on customization when picking the bike up but since I am average build, weight etc, the bike fits out of the box. As an entry level FS rig it has a great spec for the price. Deore works fine, suspension once tuned for you is great. Coming from a hard tail the ride difference is quite astonishing. The bike handles well and smooths the descents while providing adequate grip. The slack geometry means an upright and well balanced ride feel and doesn't break your back. It is on the heavy side so don't expect to go quickly up hills without body builder legs (which you might get if you like a challenge on this rig) but you can loose a couple of lbs going tubeless which MEC did for free before pick up. As a first foray into FS I am pleased although my climbing ego dented and that's ok because my wallet wasn't. One thing to note is the clamp bolts for the seat post and stem may be a little short for inspiring confidence they wont strip when torqueing to specified range. Check them and if no more than 2-4 threads engaged ask to have them changed…again, MEC switched clamp and stem for free. Nice work MEC!Mike
I'm 6'2" tall but have shorter than average legs for my height. I chose a size large because I'm between sizes but wanted something a little bit more nimble. I'm not a bike expert, but I do have a friends that are experienced mountain bike enthusiasts. One of my friends moonlights as a bike mechanic in a shop that sells several of the mainstream industry name brands, primarily to get employee discounts on high end bikes and components. He was the one who led me toward Polygon as a really good overall package for a first "real" mountain bike that wouldn't break the bank. This bike is leaps and bounds beyond anything you'll get in a department store. I'm not inexperienced on mountain bikes, but I've been away from it for over a decade and all my previous bikes were typical department store junk that I could afford in my younger years. There is no comparison. The package arrived about 7 days after I placed the order, so 5 business days. There was a hole in the box next to the derailleur (thanks Fedex), which made me nervous, but the protective plastic piece that bikesonline uses in that area kept it safe. Setup took about an hour but would have been faster if I had a bike maintenance stand. Everything functioned perfectly out of the box. I've put about 50 miles on it in the last few weeks since it came in and so far I'm impressed. I don't have plans to swap out anything other than the handlebars. A higher rise fits me more ergonomically.Grant B.
I've been having a lot of fun with the Siskiu D7 as a downcountry / trail bike. For its price point under $2k (in 2022), you get some pretty solid components, though you will probably start upgrading parts as you get deeper into the hobby. I immediately installed tubeless Maxxis DHR and DHF tires. Note that, as the bike specs state, the rims are tubeless compatible, but not tubeless ready yet; this means you need to purchase tubeless tape and a tubeless-compatible presta valve. My biggest complaints with the bike are that if you purchase the small frame, there are some ridiculous design decisions that can be annoying. First off, the dropper seatpost that comes with the bike doesn't insert all the way to the collar; if you're short, you might be losing out on 1-1.5 inches of post drop. Secondly, you're going to find a tough time finding a compatible bottle cage and appropriately small water bottle to fit nicely under the rear shock. You'll need a side-loading cage that you can insert a bottle directly through the side without any tilting. I find it bizarre that Polygon didn't think this through in their design of the bike. Anyways, aside from these issues, the bike does ride well on the trail, and doesn't necessarily break the bank for an entry-level MTBer.Brian L.

I was very disappointed. The front wheel was out of square. It would rub against the breaks in one spot after each turn so bad that they had to send a new wheel. The back wheel was not perfect but doable. And one of the tips to the brake cable slipped off. Can't get the shifter to go to the lowest gear. The service was great. Just thought it would be a better bike for the money.Jeff

Coming from decades of road cycling experience, this is my first mountain bike. I'm fit enough for challenging rides, but little technical experience mountain biking. I purchased this bike to keep the investment low, but enable me to upgrade in the future. I've now gone on many steep, rocky, technical rides and the bike has done excellent. I'm very happy with my choice. I only upgraded to a dropper post at the time of purchase. In the future I'll upgrade the group set as I'd prefer a little more snappiness in shifting, but it performs very well on tough trails. No complaints!Rob C.
You can find a better full suspension MTB in this price range…..insane value for the price. I was frozen in analysis paralysis between the Marin RZ1 vs. the Giant Stance and I couldn't be happier with my RZ1-29er. I'm 6' even and 170-175lbs depending on pizza consumption, so I'm riding size large. I've been running downhill, technical climbs, flow and rump trails, and a bit of rugged XC, and this bike takes it all in stride. Pros: Both the front and rear shock have been more adjustable than I would have expected. The slack head angle makes the slow technical XC trails a little tricky, but it provides huge benefits for climbing and speedy descents. Cons: There really isn't much to dislike, but its worth mentioning that the RZ1 does not come with a dropper post. And the stock seat post is sure long, so you cant lower the seat all the way without cutting the post down significantly. That's an easy process with a hack saw and a file, but you can add a dropper for under $200 if you self-install. Overall, I cant recommend the RZ1 highly enough. If you're in the market for an affordable full suspension MTB then the Marin RZ1 is a smart place to invest your hard-earned coin.Joel
The bikesonline website is very organized and informative, and the online purchase was easy. I got a response to an email question from customer support in a few days. The bike shipped well-secured in a sturdy box that survived unscathed all the way from CA to TN. The bike arrived mostly assembled; I just attached the handlebar, seat post, and front wheel, then added some pedals. I bled the rear brake as the right brake lever was squishy, and I set the fork and shock air pressure/rebound for my granddaughter's weight, but no other tweaks were needed. The Marin bikes are great – I would rather have had a Rift Zone 2 29er but it was unavailable. The Recon Silver fork on the Rift Zone 1 is not my favorite, but overall we love the bike, the customer support, and the simplicity of shopping it.Gary H.

The bicycle arrived in flawless condition thanks in part to what I can only describe as incredibly impressive packaging. Unboxing and removing the protective packaging took about 10 minutes. The instructions were straightforward and easy to understand. It took me working alone approximately 35 minutes to finish assembling the bicycle. I then took another 15 or so minutes to properly inflate the tires and adjust everything to my liking. The brakes and gear components were all fine as they came from the factory. All in all, I was ready to ride within an hour of opening the box. So far I've ridden around my neighborhood (paved streets) and through my yard and the bike has been great. The dual suspensions smooth out bumps and make for a very pleasant ride. The tires are knobby, but work surprisingly well on asphalt (although they are a bit noisy). Riding through wet grass was a breeze and I never felt any sort of sliding or slipping, even when doing tight turns. The Shimano components make for smooth shifting through the 18 gears. This is the first bike I've had that uses the twist-grip shifting and I must say it's very nice. I can maintain a good grip on the handlebars while shifting much easier than I could with the traditional thumb-lever style shifters. The bike is a bit on the heavy side, but it feels solid and the performance is great. The front and rear brakes are grippy and responsive and make safe stopping very easy. Finally, I would be remiss without mentioning the looks. The smooth matte-black undercoating set off by red lettering and accents makes for a very attractive bicycle. The bicycle arrived in a very big box that looked kind of beat up and taped up in several areas. After I opened it up I found that the bicycle looked to be in good shape although there was a fair amount of assembly that I needed to do. The tires and the pedals and other assorted parts were zip tied to the frame, so I cut them apart and tried to arrange things for assembly. Unfortunately, I could not find an instruction sheet or manual that explained how to put all the pieces together, so I had to rely on my many years of bicycle riding experience and tried to figure out the best way to put it together on my own. I would say it took about an hour and a half and a lot of that time was spent trying to find the right tools to use. After I got it all put together I looked it over and tried to use some grease in the correct areas for lubrication. I would say overall it is a nice looking bicycle and it is built in the style of a mountain bike. I think if you were to try to use it on trails as a mountain bike it probably wouldn't last too long, but using it mostly on the street and taking care of it I think it looks like it could last for quite a while. It is fairly comfortable to ride on and the shifting works quite well. The seat is covered in a slightly padded black textured vinyl and feels okay for a short ride but I think it would be fairly uncomfortable for anything other than that. The rims and spokes are painted black and the tires are knobby which would work good on trails. I immediately attached some baskets and a carrier on it that I took off one of my older bikes which will come in handy in the future. I saw this bike was on sale for $120 and thought to myself 'why not test it out?' I ignored all the negative reviews and purchased it right away. Fast and Free shipping to my house (only took 2 days) and nothing was broken, used, or missing. Assembly was somewhat easy. Took only 30-35 minutes to screw on everything (if you have the tools to do so), inflate the tires, etc. Don't expect to do crazy tricks and lots of mountain biking on this thing. You get what you pay for at $120. Go spend at least $300 for maybe an entry mountain bike. Pros: Good Suspension, Plenty of customization for the low/high gears and speed shifters Cons: None so far 😄 Would I recommend this bike? Absolutely. As long as it's for riding on the street, walking trails, and light riding on the dirt, then purchase it. If there is a problem then return it. I bought this Bike for my Son keeping in mind that Huffys is a good brand and thought to go with higher end of Huffy for better quaility. But within 3 weeks its Chain is making noise on any speed (Tak Tak Tak) and Handle became loose. Very annoying None of the academy sports in dallas has this bike available. Appreciate if Huffys can help in getting it replaced or fixed.Harsh
I've been extremely disappointed in these. I bought 2 at the start of the pandemic and I feel like they just have never-ending minor issues. The derailers were alway problematic and they would always click as the chain went past. Also one of my kids knocked them over in an "out of a movie" line of bikes falling into the next one and the main sprocket bent enough that it was riding against the front derailer, and I looked down to see what the issue was and got to wach as it caught the derailer and it just crumpled. I ended up just bending the front derailer out of the way and using the back one. I've also had a lot of issues with the braking system and cannot get the front break to stop squeaking constantly. Also – and to be fair I can't figure it out, so maybe it's not their fault, but we just ride with friends in our neighborhood – no trails, and we've gone through 4 tires in 4 months. Coming from decades of road cycling experience, this is my first mountain bike. I'm fit enough for challenging rides, but little technical experience mountain biking. I purchased this bike to keep the investment low, but enable me to upgrade in the future. I've now gone on many steep, rocky, technical rides and the bike has done excellent. I'm very happy with my choice. I only upgraded to a dropper post at the time of purchase. In the future I'll upgrade the group set as I'd prefer a little more snappiness in shifting, but it performs very well on tough trails. No complaints!Rob C.
You can find a better full suspension MTB in this price range…..insane value for the price. I was frozen in analysis paralysis between the Marin RZ1 vs. the Giant Stance and I couldn't be happier with my RZ1-29er. I'm 6' even and 170-175lbs depending on pizza consumption, so I'm riding size large. I've been running downhill, technical climbs, flow and rump trails, and a bit of rugged XC, and this bike takes it all in stride. Pros: Both the front and rear shock have been more adjustable than I would have expected. The slack head angle makes the slow technical XC trails a little tricky, but it provides huge benefits for climbing and speedy descents. Cons: There really isn't much to dislike, but its worth mentioning that the RZ1 does not come with a dropper post. And the stock seat post is sure long, so you cant lower the seat all the way without cutting the post down significantly. That's an easy process with a hack saw and a file, but you can add a dropper for under $200 if you self-install. Overall, I cant recommend the RZ1 highly enough. If you're in the market for an affordable full suspension MTB then the Marin RZ1 is a smart place to invest your hard-earned coin.Joel
The bikesonline website is very organized and informative, and the online purchase was easy. I got a response to an email question from customer support in a few days. The bike shipped well-secured in a sturdy box that survived unscathed all the way from CA to TN. The bike arrived mostly assembled; I just attached the handlebar, seat post, and front wheel, then added some pedals. I bled the rear brake as the right brake lever was squishy, and I set the fork and shock air pressure/rebound for my granddaughter's weight, but no other tweaks were needed. The Marin bikes are great – I would rather have had a Rift Zone 2 29er but it was unavailable. The Recon Silver fork on the Rift Zone 1 is not my favorite, but overall we love the bike, the customer support, and the simplicity of shopping it.Gary H.
