Bought a house four years ago with some sort of plastic sink, supposed to wear like porcelain. The previous owners had remodeled the kitchen a few years before and paid a pretty price for it. I have used Zud since childhood, since our well water caused a lot of rust stains. I now have a well with a lot of iron in the water, and again use Zud for rust stains. It is becoming difficult to find powdered Zud, so I was happy to see it available at Do-It-Best Hardware. None of the newer products that claim to be tough on rust come close to comparing to the rust-killing power of Zud. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, but I swear on this stuff!Wolfox

Every time i wash my deck i use Star Brite. I have found it is the next best thing instead of using bleach to get scuffs and fish blood off my deck. Obviously bleach being a much harsher product not only for my deck but also the environment i looked for another product to use that over time would not deteriorate my deck or fabric. I have been using Star Bright for almost 2 years now and it cleans and leaves a non slippery finish, keeping my deck looking like new. It is very slippery when wet and that would be my only caution i have busted my butt a few times now.Cliff

Worked really well at removing spots and stains from my non skid deck.The key is to let the product sit for a few minutes after applying with a brush, so that it takes effect and then brush briskly and wash off. Boat Detailing firm ceased to operate, so I had to do this myself. I chose to put in maximum effort, so I washed all non-skid surfaces thoroughly with West Marine Boat Wash, rinsed thoroughly, let the deck dry. Then I light hosed down the deck, started firmly brushing in Star Brite Deck Cleaner, kept it up for a while, using a stiff brush. By the way, knee pads help! – did this on hands and knees, very thoroughly. I waited until it dried (not exactly package instructions). Then I rinsed off the deck. I was surprised how great – brand new – the deck looked wet and after thoroughly drying – awesome, and this is a 16 year old boat. Starbrite cleaner lifted most stains that Boatwash and elbow grease didn't completely get. Admiral was also amazed, wondering why I don't work this hard cleaning at home. Rain overnight – and the deck looked wonderful the next morning, even after drying. I tested to see if the deck was slippery, and it was literally "squeaky clean" and non-slippery with Topsiders on. So, I'm very impressed, I'm looking forward to seeing how long this great, new appearance continues to look a month and two months later. I'm likely to make this an every other month priority, as I feel confident that this frequency will keep the deck cleaner, even more non-skid, sound and easier to clean in the future. Mrs. Meyer’s Vinegar Gel cleaned my bathroom tub beautifully! I was doubtful about the soap scum stains and brown ring around the tub going away as I tried other conventional products to no avail. I squeezed the gel all over the tub, took a trusty scouring sponge, rubbed it evenly all over the tub, then waited ten minutes. Seems pricey but it was well worth it. It removed rust stains from fibre glass in just 5 minutes that wouldn't shift with compounding or machine polishing. Well worth a try but you need to wear a mask and gloves as it's a big potent smelling when using. Odour clears quickly after the area has been wiped down. Works wonders on rust anywhere! I used it to get some really caked on rust off of outdoor floor tile on a patio. The rust was everywhere, extremely bright orange on white tile and would NOT wash off in any way. I put just enough Whink on to cover the rust with a thin layer. Buy the time I was finished applying Whink across the patio, 5-10min, the end I started on looked like it was just wet. It had dissolved the rust completely. I couldn’t even tell where it was in the first place. It seriously looked as if the patio had some water spilt on the tile, clean tile even. The Whink had cleaned the tile too!J2DJ

Ok so I am an idiot and left my grommet top curtains to soak while I ran an errand. When I returned the tops of the curtains had all rusted. I tried rewashing them, soaked them in vinegar etc all of these steps made them much worse. I should have taken pictures but I was so mad I just threw them in the washer with 1/2 cup of this stuff (no soap no bleach). I then checked them every 5 minutes – some parts of the curtains I poured the stuff straight on and then put back in the washer. I think overall I ended up using about a cup of this stuff. I was worried that they would ruin my shear curtains but they came out sparkling white – no holes. I rinsed them twice to make sure all the stain remover was out of them. I washed 4 white shear curtain panels on medium load with 1/2 cup of this stuff on them. Keep checking them while they are in the washer and if needed apply the product directly to the curtains.MJK

Sprays away lime build-up on kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Works very well, taking off light lime build-up instantly. On heavy build-up, takes some soaking in for 30 minutes or so. I gave it a four rating because it is recommended to wear gloves when applying it. So. it seems somewhat toxic. I wonder what is doing to the septic.Jules

The name sounds good. I would probably do my best not to let the rust get so bad that you need something extra. Its very difficult to get rust off toilet bowls and other items. This didn't really seem to help a whole lot although I have other family members who object to that statement and really like this brand. I don't see a whole lot of difference between say Clorox and Lime Away. You'd have to be the judge I guess.1anonymous123

I bought this originally to use in my shower because of some calcium or limescale spots. I was having to deal with little white stains corroding the metal in my shower. My shower head and faucet system are all made of stainless steel. I don't know if it's my water being hard or soft or just full of chemicals but after a week or so, I notice these white spots all over my faucet system and shower head after I have gotten rid of them. I've used cola a few times in the past and elbow grease but since I bought this product, it truly does work magic. With this, all I have to do is spray a good coating on the area where the spots are and let it soak for a few minutes. Sometimes I wander off cleaning for a half hour before coming back to clean up. Usually there is very minimal scrubbing involved in removing these spots after I let it soak in Lime-A-Way. I've even noticed that when I use this product, it seems to take several weeks, instead of several days, for new spots to develop all over again. A few words of caution are that it doesn't work so well on rust. I notice when I use it on rust, it does get some of the red staining away, but once rust has set in, the item really needs replaced. This merely cleans up the stains and doesn't help the rust. Another thing to keep in mind is that this stuff smells bad. It's strong and not recommended for inhalation. I open the shower roof panel and the window in the shower while I turn on the ceiling fan to vent some of the stench out. I've had fits of coughing several times when I wasn't careful not to breathe near this stuff. One final thing to keep in mind is not getting this on your skin and rinsing well. I always take the shower head and spray down everywhere I used this product. I rinse it thoroughly. I am also careful to wear my long gloves when I use this. I have sensitive skin anyway but this is not a product I want on my skin. My guy made the mistake of letting some get on him and he had very minor chemical burns that made him sting and itch for a couple days. Our family doctor told him to just rinse it thoroughly and apply a very light antibiotic cream just in case. I wouldn't let kids use this. It's strong and powerful so be careful and protect your skin and lungs. Otherwise, it works great, just a strong chemical. Performance It eradicates lime and calcium and helps significantly remove rust stains. Scent The scent is terrible and causes me to cough uncontrollably if I am not careful to ventilate the room well enough. Be careful with kids around this product.clinen11

I love the Pink Stuff range and was excited to try this cream cleanser. I?ve tried lots of ?natural? alternatives around the house but they?ve never quite compared to products with harsh chemicals in but The Pink Stuff range is fantastic. Does the job just as well, if not better than other leading products and the fact that it is chemical free makes choosing this a no brained for me. Last year I bought a 10 foot outdoor inflatable snowman , and it was spendy. So I didnt take it down until spring, well because there was 2ft of snow on it, and it was frozen to the base on the ground. ( I live in ND ) . anyway, when I took it down, I threw it in a wheelbarrow and forgot about it. So I thought I would just have to stick it next to the house, and maybe buy a smaller inflatable to put in front of it to hide all the rust, because most of it was on the bottom portion. But I tried Iron Out, and i sprayed some on, let it soak for about 10 min, and gave it a little scrub, and I could tell it was coming out, so I scrubbed a little more, and whiped it off, and it was gone !!!! This stuff is awesome. I had some pretty nasty iron stains on my house siding from irrigation overspray that had been there for years. I tried everything I could think of to clean them off, from detergents to power washing, etc, and nothing worked. The pitch for this product sounds like an infomercial – "just spray it on and watch the rust disappear" – so I was expecting it to either not work at all, or require some heavy manual scrubbing afterwards. Nope. You literally just spray this on and watch as the rust disappears in a few minutes. I had to go back and re-spray the worst of my stains a few times, but the entire job took about 15 minutes and I never thought I'd see the house siding looking that clean again. I love this product!! I literally just bought it and it is the first thing that got rid of the nasty orange stain 100% with no scrubbing involved. We have a new shower in the house and I thought it was going to be ruined from these stains. I had bad rust stains in my toilet bowl due to rusting metal parts inside. I tried cleaning them off with detergents, toilet bowl cleaners and bleach but nothing made any difference. I've seen where people used pumice stones to scrub but I wanted to avoid doing that if possible. I bought this Iron Out spray thinking it would take most of the bottle and a couple weeks of spraying. This product did not take the soap scum/hard water stains out of my fiberglass tub. Tried it several times even with a coarse green scrubbie pad and steel wool. Discoloration still there. I had a well 90 ft deep that kept running dry every 20 minutes. The pump had that black sooty sand like stuff on it. Its called Manganese. Manganese occurs naturally in rock fissures in wells. I dumped 1/2 gallon of CLR down the well and let it set for a few weeks over Fall. I fired up the well and a bunch of pink water and cloudy water flushed out. Now I have water almost 24/7.. CLR will turn Manganese pink. Chlorine does nothing to dissolve minerals. I tried it. CLR is like chemical fracking. and its biodegradable.BubbaRay

I filled a wrangler heater core full of this because it lacked heat. Let it sit for an hour then blasted it out over and over with a cooling system flush gun. They say not to use CLR on heater cores but worked fine for me and others on youtube.james102377

The packaging of this item is terrible. The lid doesn't seal properly and liquid leaked all over the bag and eventually my car.
