What it is: A naturally and artificially flavored cafe style beverage mix that is decaffeinated, sugar free, and low in calories. Key Ingredients: Nondairy creamer, decaffeinated instant coffee, cocoa, nonfat milk, aspartame, and salt. How it smells/looks/tastes: This smells like hot chocolate mix that Swiss makes. It tastes like an adult version of hot chocolate, too. The powder even has chocolate shavings in it. Why I like it: I did not particularly like this mix and I would not buy this kind again. I do not like that it contains aspartame and the product tastes like watered down hot chocolate. I expected it to taste rich and flavorful, but it did not. I have had other flavors that I have loved, but this fell short. I mix two rounded spoonfuls of the powder with 8 ounces of boiled water and putting more spoonfuls did not help with the flavor at all. I would say pass on this flavor and to choose a different one like hazelnut. I have been enjoying that one. I have been drinking this for years. I am seriously sad to see it is being discontinued. It always flies off the shelves where I live. Sometimes I even go to multiple stores to find it. It's wonderful because it doesn't have that bitter tone to it that pretty much all other instant iced coffees have. Has a great flavor without being overly sweet. Not sure why it's being discontinued other than possibly trying to boost sales of the already prepared kind in cartons in the refrigerated cases. Those just don't compare and this is great to travel with. I've taken it with me on vacations, even overseas! Absolutely addicted to it and. I've been buying this product for many many years. It's the ONLY ice coffee mix I buy. I tried one other brand but it didn't even come close! The only reason I tried the other brand was because your brand was not on the shelves. I didn't bother to finish the other brand and immediately threw it away. As you can see in the photos, the container was damaged and unsealed. I don't mind the packaging being beat up, almost expect it when something has a good markdown in price, but the seal had partially peeled. After inspection, I eventually tried some and it was good; very sweet though, a lack of bitterness I'm supposing. But as there were no visible bugs or obvious signs of "tampering" I'd really appreciate a replacement because it's pretty good but not nearly the amount that was supposed to be in it.justjessi
Six containers of Hills Bros Cappuccino English Toffee came in a plain, regular, unlined plastic ENVELOPE (not even bubble wrap) which gave no stability. One container was squished enough that it had a slit in it with powder squeezing out. The other containers were squished enough that the air was out of all of them – also, powder from the slit one was on all of them. They are usable but all containers on the outside were a mess and had to be cleaned. The other six Hills Bros Cappuccino White Chocolate Caramel came perfectly packed in a cardboard box. TL/DR: creamy, sweet, delicious, rich caramel flavor, and ridiculously easy to prepare. Turns coffee into a treat! I have had back problems throughout 2022 and as a result, I have limited mobility. One thing I found I could no longer do, though it might sound silly, is make my usual carafe of pour-over coffee every morning. The body movements involved in preparing it had become too painful. I love coffee, so I was determined to come up with an alternative. Instant coffee in general tastes quite a bit better than it used when I was younger (and that was a long, long time ago, lol.) I ordered a few different types of instant coffee from Walmart to see which tasted the best. (I’d like to say here that I am very grateful for Walmart Grocery Delivery because of my mobility issues. It is a HUGE help to have the groceries come to the front door! Thanks, Walmart.) This Hills Brothers Cappuccino Toffee Instant Coffee was the least expensive of all of the instant coffees I tried- and it was easily the best! I usually add cocoa or hot chocolate mix to my coffee, as I like chocolaty coffee. I also add quite a bit of milk. With this mix, all I needed to do was add hot water (doesn’t need to be boiling water- almost boiling works fine), and this mix makes a delicious cup of sweet, creamy coffee. It’s really good! The toffee flavor is a rich caramel, that tastes like real caramel. This coffee is on the sweet side, but I like my coffee sweet. (It’s as sweet as any Starbucks sort of flavored cappuccino/latte drink, and it’s a lot less expensive- and you can make it in your kitchen. And it’s easily as delicious.) I add a splash of milk to cool it down, which makes it more creamy, too. I am a native San Franciscan, and I remember with fondness the Hills Brothers Coffee building at 2 Harrison Street. Every morning, courtesy of Hills Brothers, the damp foggy air had a delicious “taste” of roasting coffee beans. Hills Brothers moved into the building in 1926. Like most nice things from my past in San Francisco, Hills Brothers Coffee is now gone. But the fond memory of delicious coffee wafting on the ocean breeze is evoked by my morning cup of Hills Brothers Cappuccino Toffee Instant Coffee. Really disappointing. Not very chocolatey, not very pepperminty, and not even very coffeey. Consists mostly of sugar — as you can see on the label, which actually lists sugar twice, along with corn-syrup solids and other sweeteners. Even if it's mixed at double strength the flavor is thin — apart from being overwhelmingly sweet. The label also suggests, in an admission of guilt, that it's "Also Great in Coffee"! Yes, adding some coffee to it might be a good idea, Caffe D'Vita. Might be a good idea. Coffee is listed at the bottom of the list of ingredients, yet the label says that the mix is 99-percent caffeine free. Most of us couldn't taste any coffee at all.Kevin
Caffe D'Vita Instant Cappuccino, Caramel, 16 Oz. Is a nice blend of Carmel to the cappuccino. It's not overly sweet and you don't need to add heaping spoonfuls to you're cup to taste it. It's great capp by itself or added to any flavor of coffee. I'm a bit of a mad scientist when it comes to my coffee, so I'm constantly adding, mixing and inventing my own unique flavors. And this Caffe D'Vita is a prefect brand to mix and match with. Among other flavors ,I'm looking forward to trying the white chocolate raspberry in the future. I highly recommend this Caffe D'Vita Carmel cappuccino . (My favorite coffee blend so far is Caffe D'Vita Carmel cap added to banana nut cream coffee. I did NOT like the Caramel flavour cappuccino by this brand. It was extraordinarily sweet–to the point where all I tasted was a sugary taste but not necessarily a caramel note. In fact, I didn't really taste any kind of caramel at all, just intense sugar. I wanted to try it though because it always made me laugh looking at the name (I worked for years for a nephrology network that has an almost identical name, lol)– and glad I did test it. I believe firmly in the power of adaptogens, and this formula is excellent. I had no doubt that I would like Rasa and that it would be helpful. The first few times I used Rasa, I didn't have a french press, so I simmered it for 10-15 minutes. This was highly effective, but it also made me EXTREMELY wired, uncomfortably so, and I'm pretty sure it triggered a manic episode. So bipolar folks, be careful! I stopped it using it until my french press came in the mail. I now use it everyday with a french press. I would expect that it's giving me energy on some level, because again, adaptogens work–this isn't even a question. But I had this initial surge of energy on the first day (prior to the uncomfortable state of mania that followed in the evening) that made me feel amazing. I got so much done. I recognize that this just sounds like a bipolar person talking about being hypomanic. But it didn't feel quite like that–it felt like I suddenly had the energy and motivation to take care of the huge to-do list that I had been ignoring for weeks. I haven't gotten that back since using the french press, and I think I may experiment with simmering it for a shorter period of time, maybe 5 minutes. As far as the taste, I think it is DELICIOUS, but if you don't drink a lot of herbal tea it might be off-putting or strange. I love mushrooms and many herbal teas, so to me the rich, earthy, mushroomy taste is wonderful. I sometimes drink it plain but prefer it with a bit of oatmilk and honey, which just makes it a dreamy part of my morning routine. I should also say that I do not really drink coffee. I have always been too sensitive to caffeine. I started drinking coffee a few years ago to get me through grad school, and then stopped when I realized it was making me extremely anxious. So this was not meant to be a coffee substitute for me, but I would guess that for those who are looking for that, a little simmer of Rasa might do the trick.Karin
I’ve recently given up coffee and caffeine and I was looking something to add a boost to my mornings. I am an avid herbal tea drinker but something about a mug of herbal tea in the morning was just leaving me craving my coffee more. Luckily I found rasa. It doesn’t exactly taste like coffee but it itches that same scratch that coffee gives me. It’s like coffee’s cousin. I have been drinking Kava for many years ( 40+) because regular coffee upsets my stomach. Kava does not and it still has caffeine, which I feel I need and want in my daily life. It is unfortunate that WALMART doesn’t carry this item frequently. Apparently, outside (marketplace) vendors may be buying it up at the WALMART lower price and then re-selling it at an outrageously higher price and telling you that the price includes “free shipping,” when in truth they just jack up the price in addition to their already-outrageous price and then adding shipping cost into it and lying to you that it includes free shipping. Hah!! WALMART, when they have it, sells it at a MUCH lower price that includes free shipping if you purchase at least $35 worth. As soon as it is in stock at the lower WALMART price, however, it quickly becomes unavailable almost immediately. Please, WALMART, keep selling this product and please keep selling it at your MUCH LOWER PRICE!! I purchased it at $33.98 for 12-bottle packs and wish I had ordered more at that time. We are on a keto regimen, and wanted to try this. We got them cold and opened, and there was a strong oily smell coming from the bottle. We tasted it, after shaking it up, and all we tasted was the mct oil and a tiny bit of vanilla. No coffee flavor, just mct oil and almost no vanilla.
