When I had brought this product, my first issue is the price which is normally £10, and I think in my opinion it should at least be £2.99 however despite of the price being £10, I will still encourage anyone to buy it and I will tell you why. I say buy it because it is a very nice beautiful cocoa butter, shea butter, argan oil smell, but the most scent I get from my nose is the cocoa, then shea butter but least of the argan oil, however that is only my nose. When I first smelt it from the lid when I had open it, maybe for some people (personally for me) it can come of as a bit off putting as its very strong when opening the lid and for me, it almost put me off and thought of having regrets buying it. When I applied it on my beard, it's a classic smell and it gifts texture, what is great about it is you don't even need to apply too much. I applied a little bit and it made my beard smooth, gives a silky look and a nice smell, no beard dandruff whatsoever, and the smell is quite unique. The smell is strong enough that do not need to use lots of it, just a small amount will do the trick. It is true that less is more. Even I spent £10 and again do think it's expensive, I say it is worth the money and you will not regret buying it. I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Interesting product which you can leave on your beard or wash off immediately. Just use a tiny dab especially if you're are going to leave on your beard unless you like the look of snow flakes. The balm features ingredients made from cocoa butter, argan oil and shea butter, but you would not know it from the list of ingredients. Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol & Benzyl Alcohol may not be good for users with sensitive skin. The beard trimmer is a basic model and works well, but dont expect a close shave. There are 3 interchangeable combs for 3 different styles stubble, short beard, and long beard. The trimmer itself is pretty light and easy to hold in my hand as I provide personal care for another individual. It is easy to manipulate in different directions. I found that the combs are easy to clip on. There is also a small cleaning brush available. Everything fits in a pouch that is included in the box. Its convenient to use as it is cordless. I dont know if 10 hours of charging will provide 50 minutes of trimming. I plugged it into the wall outlet long enough to do a quick trim, and it seemed to be effective. I hope the rechargeable battery holds up according to the claims made by the manufacturer. The blade is quite sharp. According to the manufacturer, the blades should be sharp for the lifetime of the shaver. Time will tell. It doesnt emit a loud noise like some other trimmers when it is in use. I set out on my beard journey back in college in 1996. It wasn't until more than twenty years later that I discovered beard products. However, discover them I did. I have tried products from 20+ different beard oil and balm companies in the last 5 years. During this time I developed a list of priorities when it comes to beard balms and butters. At the very least, they must be easy to apply, non-greasy once applied, have a reasonable amount of hold, use as much natural products as possible, and smell incredible. This brings me to Live Bearded and their Wingman Beard Butter. It is incredibly thick, making it difficult to break down and apply to the beard. A little goes a long way. However, once applied, it is relatively non-greasy. The hold it provides is tremendous when compared to other common beard butter products (almost too much so). Finally, the smell… well that brings me to the reason I purchased this particular beard butter in the first place. It was described as citrus, clove and vanilla. I was looking for something that reminded me of Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Orange and Clove soaps (which I can't seem to get enough of). Unfortunately, the scent of Wingman is heavy on the clove, which seems to overpower the additional scent additives (they are undetectable). Granted, everyone has a different nose and you may find that this is the scent you have been searching for. Taking that into account, I rated this high on the scale of quality and effectiveness. I started with Live Bearded almost 4 years ago. The butter smelled awesome, melted in your hands, held great and was just an awesome product. Offered it to all my friends who wanted to grow a beard. Since Drake came out, the butter became almost a paste. Wont melt, cant wash it off your hands and, after about a year of using another product, it only seems to be getting worse. I decided to try you again after taking a break to see if I just got a bad batch but, it seems nothing has changed. The shampoo now seems more like a stripper that leaves my beard brittle. The butter, I cant wash off my hands unless I use the absolute hottest water I can stand. Soap and water does not wash it off. I have to use a hot blow dryer to get it to spread through my beard. I almost washed my beard tonight to get the butter out. The only thing that seems the same is the stash wax and the conditioner. Live bearded butters are really good. They are tackier, but once you learn to work with it, it's a top favorite conditioning butter leaving my beard quite soft with no snags. Now about the fragrance, one reason I love Live Bearded so much is that their fragrances are simple, classic, and fun. With all the cologne scents out there in beard world, sometimes (ok a lot of the times) I just want natural scents, like a fir tree. This does it. Simple, and it smells like I rubbed a freshly chainsawed fir log all over in my beard (without the sap). It's a little more on the bitter side of "pine" as opposed to "sweet" pine, but it's very natural. One final note, the fragrances tend to fade fairly quickly with only small whiffs throughout the day. I tend to like this as a strong fragrance becomes a little much over the course of the day. I got this for my husband to use, but I have to admit I’ve pretty much stolen it. It’s a nice balm with good ingredients, and it doesn’t stay on the skin and sit there, all greasy. It soaks in fast and feels soft. I think it’s a bit too strong for around the face, but to be honest I’m really fussy about putting scented stuff on faces. It makes a great manly cologne, though, dabbed on pulse points or behind ears. It’s kind of fresh and green and woodsy and a tiny bit musky. My husband and I both love Burt’s Bees Men’s Beard Balm because of how soft and beautiful his beard has looked since trying the balm. I recently put the balm in my husbands beard and it was easy to use. The balm is in the tin and you just wipe your fingers across, not dig in-just run across to get a little amount on your palm and finger tips. I than wipe my hands together and than apply to his beard. As I stated a little amount goes a long way; I used barely a second of it and still had some left on my hands. The balm is soft and not greasy which is nice especially for coarse beard hair. The balm makes the beard soft almost immediately and keeps it soft ongoing with continuous use of Burt’s Bees Men’s Beard Balm. The balm doesn’t however hold well which is needed for out of control beards such as my husbands. My husbands beard needs a balm that softens but also he needs to be able to control where the hairs go and that they stay there. However, this balm is amazing for what it states it does and that is softens! The balms natural ingredients are nice to see in products now especially hemp. The fragrance is nice and woodsy. This beard balm has an excellent consistency and it is totally odorless. The consistency is pretty much like a bar of Dove soap but much softer and can be easily peeled with your fingernail. It is not as hard or even close to mustache wax is that crossed your mind. The result is a condition, shiny and soft beard with a little bit of stiffness to shape but not super stiff if you';re trying to make extreme shapes or something crazy like that. I had some of the old pesky beard dandruff, simply because I was shampooing with normal shampoo almost every day and it was drying the skin, which was aggravating the beard and helping to create dandruff. I originally bought this in response to slowly developing dry skin, which lead to dandruff mainly from my mustache and a bit from my beard. I attempted to use lotion to fix the issue however that proved ineffective. It was when I started doing research on dandruff of the beard where I learned that you actually should wash your beard (I keep mine rather short, so I thought water and a good scrub was enough).After some careful thought into what conditioner I wanted to add to my shampoo I carefully chose Bluebeards because it was the first thing I saw and it wasn’t going to tear a hole in my wallet. I thought this was going to be a waste of money and time, as I believed that soap and shampoo was all that the world ever needed. I was wrong. So very wrong. My whiskers used to be rather tough but after ONE single wash with this stuff they basically became softer. Though the dandruff is still an issue, I went from having to have a raging blizzard under my nose a minor annoyance. I should note that there is a scent to the product, it’s not overpowering by any factor and it vanishes (at least to me) after application.Though it did not help me with my problem, I am still highly impressed with this product. The way my beard feels now is so much smoother than what I was used to. I was really looking forward to using the 1880 beard wash. I have loved all the fragrances, especially Gunslinger (my favorite) beard wash, oils, butter, and mustache wax. When I got The 1880 beard wash, I was disappointed. The wash works great, as Live Bearded products always do. The wash is good and does it’s job. No complaints there. My disappointment was the fragrance. It states the aroma is bourbon, bitters, and citrus. All I smelled is citrus. I’ve had friends (men and women) smell it to see if I am off-base, but all anyone can smell is citrus. Don’t get me wrong, the smell is okay, if I wanted citrus, but I don’t. I wanted something more in keeping with the name: 1880. I expected a many fragrance reminiscent of late Victorian Gentlemen’s clubs or a manly study with roll-top desks, books, boots, and decanters of bourbon. I got a fresh citrus smoothie smell. The actual product smells nothing like the advertised name suggests, and let’s face it the name “1880” was selected for the image and concept it conveyed. Executive smells like something one would wear to the office. Gunslinger, Canyon, and Maui each smelled as the name suggested. 1880 did not live up to the name. I’ll use it till the beard wash is done, and appreciate the good wash it provides my beard, but I won’t buy it again.James H.
I use little to none , when it comes to scented products ( Due to my wife's sensitivity towards fragrances). I did purchase the sampler 1st with an absortment of all of the Fragrances and enjoyed almost every one of them. With that being sad This product is superior to any I've used so far. I wear a Shorter Weird About 1" to one and a 1/2 inch just depends upon the season and I only need a few drops (6-10) To clean my entire beard.
