When you have curly hair, you get tired of always having to style it with 15 products at a time (exaggerating of course). I have been using this line of healthy sexy hair products for years. I switched to another shampoo a few years ago though after they changed their soy moisturizing shampoo to some garbage that had nothing but oils in it. They removed literally all of the cleansing agents and it left my hair so greasy. It was awful. However, I stuck with the leave-in conditioner up until a couple weeks ago. They've now changed their formula on that too. They've changed it before, but it still worked. But whatever they've put in the bottle now is just terrible. This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. I’m giving curl quencher gel four stars because it’s definitely an improvement over the heat and humidity climate control gel which used to be my all time favorite go-to product until the formula was changed and it became a huge disappointment. Since I’m wearing my hair longer than ever before my curls need a strong gel that will keep them from getting frizzy. Curl quencher gel works pretty well, but it doesn’t give me that wet look or crunch that some gels create when they dry. (I actually liked that crunch because it held my curls in complete control.) I would say this had a slightly more noticeable smell than the matching shampoo. I’m glad it didn’t have that overpowering smell a lot of dandruff hair products have (this was only slightly minty). I would use this normally during dry winter months, especially if I was dealing with dandruff/flaky scalp. Had a subtle cooling effect, but the menthol/cooling is more noticeable the longer you leave on. Says to leave on 1-3 mins and I left it for up to 5 a couple times. Living in coastal central Florida, the water here is super hard. Pretty much like well water. I have really thick 2b – 3b curly hair which needs a lot of moisture. Now a warning for fine haired individuals! Look elsewhere! It's sure to make finer hair limp. That said, this is the absolute best shampoo/conditioner combo I've ever found (and I'm almost 60 – shhhh!) to tame the follicles of my stands down to make it feel silky, yes, silky. I also use Malibu C's Miracle Repair twice a month, this stuff is what started my Malibu C journey. I honestly can't say enough good things about how these products tame my hair from the inside out! After loving the results I achieved just using the hard water wellness packet I decided to buy this collection. Both the shampoo and conditioner have a nice orange scent, the shampoo bubbles up pretty decent and the conditioner provides light hydration. I would not use this product daily unless You have severe hard water issues. It definitely works as advertised but I would recommend using it in conjunction with a good hydrating conditioner. IMO overall, unless you have major issues with hard water, the wellness packet used once a week is good enough. It works wonders on its own. I swim laps 2-3 times a week in a clorinated mineral rich hot springs pool. The pool recommended and sells Ultraswim shampoo and conditioner. I've been using it for about two years. It keeps my hair healthy and free from discoloration. It's important to work the conditioner into the hair and leave it on for about 3 minutes. I'm then able to comb through my medium length hair without breaking though tangles. It leaves my fine textured hair soft and not oily. I only use ultraswim shampoo and conditioner after swimming. This is perfect to spray before going into chlorine or out in the sun! I love the convenient spray bottle, the slightly coconut smell, and the way the product stays in the hair and then makes hair washing easier after a swim! No more chlorine tangles and no more super dry hair! This was very conditioning and gave my daughter's hair a lasting shine. Both of which are difficult to maintain when you have a swimmer. Her hair is highlighted and not only did this protect her color, it kept the chlorine off abd I haven't seen that green cast since she's been using it. Here hair is also naturally wavy and can get a little fuzzy during winter swim months. This product has natural oils and ingredients that tamed the fly-aways and kept static at bay. I am a consumer that buys with my nose. I admit it. It's really, really important. I have wished for someone to create an herbal scented hair care line since, ok, the 70s. I mean something that actually smells herbal. Like the earth. Like a garden. This is better than that 70s line because the ingredients are so much better for your hair. Nothing bad. Thank you! This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. I did not get a tingling feeling using this product and may be that didn’t leave on the required 15-30 minutes. I still would buy this product because my hair shine and for a conditioner to give shine that’s good. Anywho that’s my opinion on MO Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! I received this haircare item as a part of the Pureology HydrateSheer campaign; the physical items arrived for me in the mail late this past December. After using the items for several weeks on the majority of days or evenings on my hair as a follow up to using the HydrateSheer shampoo product on my hair, I truthfully found that not only did the conditioner specifically not help my hair type (oily scalp/root area, drier and more prone to breakage near roots/tips), I believe it may actually have caused some additional damage to my strands including an overall roughening and drying effect over time with extended use. While I cannot say for sure whether or not this would be the same experience for you if you have a substantially different hairtype, I do feel a bit cautious recommending the product largely due to a combination of the second ingredient (and I believe also one or two others) being an alcohol (which can often be drying to peoples' hair strands) as well as the fact that for the price point of the product, not only was it not superior to other products marketed in similar haircare categories; in my personal experience it was actually comparatively worse. This was solely my experience but based on my experience alone, this not a haircare product I would be quick to strongly recommend to others on average.
This product smells amazing on my hair and the scent lasted till the next time I washed my hair!! The conditioner detangled my hair with ease. My hair feels super soft and looks shinier. Love this shampoo and conditioner so glad I tried it! My hair is so much more manageable and I can’t believe how soft it is. It literally feels like salon hair. It is pricey but worth it to me because I normally don’t even use conditioner. I’ve never been able to find one that I could use due to conditioner making my hair feel weighed down and greasy by the end of the day. Finally I found the one. I wasn’t hopeful when I first initially used it though, because I’ve used many many different conditioners to the point where I just gave up. I have full bottles sitting around now and I’ve given tons away over the years and shampoos too. So this is worth it to me because I will just be using this. It’s perfect with the shampoo too. I really loved this conditioner. It was creamy and spread through my hair so easily. I found myself using less than I would of my normal Aussie brand conditioner. I have wavy/curly hair so dryness is always a concern. I found this conditioner did a great job hydrating my curls without leaving them weighed down or greasy after a day. I LOVE the mint/menthol scent. It was cooling on the scalp, which isn’t for everyone, but I enjoyed. The vegan ingredients aren’t something I seek out but I’m always happy to make little changes for the better, so I like that. Sulfate free is always a bonus too. My hair felt soft, light and looked shiny and clean. It was less frizzy before applying product than when I used basic drug store conditioner which is fantastic since I don’t always feel like drying it with hot tools. Overall, if you’re looking to splurge on yourself and your hair I recommend this conditioner!

I enjoyed this entire line, and especially the conditioner. It’s smells great and does a fair job at moisturizing- definitely a great choice for people with hair that would ideally use regular tea tree shampoo, but can’t due to how drying it can be. The reason it’s receiving less than 5 stars is primarily for the fact that even though I have little bad to say about it, I only used it 5 or so times before I was craving my favorites, and letting my husband finish the Paul Mitchell bottles. He also liked it! Said the smell was great and his hair felt clean and soft. But when it ran out I asked if he wanted a new supply and he opted to just go back to his previous pick as well. I feel like overall it’s nice, but overpriced and a little mediocre. Also this is a little unrelated, but the more I realize how little Paul Mitchell cares to prevent their product from being diverted the less I care to try their products in the future. It seems like the statements they release on the topic are an act and they just at the end of the day care about the bottom line. I bought this at Ulta at the end of September, 2022. It's a thick yellow liquid. It felt like my hair had wax on it in the shower, but it dried beautifully. I have untreated, long, blond hair. The strands glide off each other. My hair strands look thinner than before, but all muddiness is gone. My hair is much shinier, blonder, and smooth. I don't care for the scent but I can live with it. No hairs in my brush either. I rewashed after three days with the same results. No oiliness from the product. I'll buy again.Elizabeth
This item was not packed well and exploded in the package. Conditioner everywhere! I tried to return to Walmart but they told me to contact the seller. The seller requested photos, which I sent, and then I never heard from him again. I contacted him once more to see if I could get a refund and never heard a word. Since the Pandemic started, my hair has been looking less than satisfying. I stumbled upon this leave-in conditioner, and after using it for the last few weeks my hair has completely transformed! It has gone back to my original curl pattern (more of an S wave) I actually thought I had lost my curl pattern. My hair is now soft, the curls are extremely well defined, moisturized and shiny. Let me start by saying I am a big loyal customer of Mielle. But since I opened the bottle I disliked the smell 😩. It reminded me of ocean scented aromatics, febrezze, soaps, etc . I use the babassu shampoo , I got this for my husband , well I tried it today and I was please with the results it cleaned my hair wonderfully and the smell toned down in the shower, I did picked up some sweet aromas. If you don’t have allergies to perfumes or scents or strong scents don’t bother you, than this line is a 5 star but for a nose like mine is a 4 . The deep conditioner and leave in gave me so much volume , clean feel, defined light curls, but the smell of the leave in has already given me a headache. Maybe tone it down with the fragrance ? I purchased this based on the many positive reviews I read. But, I do not like this conditioner at all. It's a strange consistency, so when you apply it to your hair it feels weird, greasy, and clumpy. It didn't distribute evenly and when I rinsed it, my hair felt clumpy, greasy and tangled. So different from the other positive experiences others have had. i have long, wavy, fine type of hair, maybe it works better for thicker hair? My hair is fairly healthy, I don't process it too much, but in the winter it gets super dry so i wanted something to help with the dryness, and this did not help at all. Disappointed. I won't purchase again, and do not recommend. I do love their shampoo, is it the best I've ever used? No, Theory conditioner and shampoo are better, more reasonably priced too. I won't be purchasing any more of these over-priced products.
I LOVE the shampoo, but I do not get why so many people rave about this conditioner. It has the strangest texture and consistency, it does not go on well, it clumps and doesn't distribute evenly on your hair. It made my hair feel greasy but dry at the same time. I've experienced this with another repair type of conditioner and I'm disappointed that this conditioner did the same type of thing. I had to use two other conditioners just to get my hair feeling soft and normal again. I have long, fine hair, if that helps. Maybe it just doesn't work with that kind of hair. Sadly, I do not recommend this conditioner. I haven't tried their other ones. But the price is pretty high for taking a gamble or two on them. I do recommend their shampoo though, it's the best I've ever used. Still on the search for a good conditioning conditioner.Ali
I've tried several different kinds of hair care products from Matrix to Briorgeo. Virtue is the only one I prefer. I love the scent which is not overwhelming for me. Subtle notes of vanilla with warm woodsy notes is what I detect. The product leaves my hair feeling soft with beautiful shine. I've also noticed since I've been using this shampoo and conditioner that my hair grows so much faster! My cosmetologist actually asked me what was my secret? 😉 I also use the 6 n 1 style lotion. This leaves my hair feeling manageable without making it feel greasy or weighted down. My hair is naturally white/gray, and fine. I needed to find something that would give my hair sheen without making my hair look "muddy". This is my go to along with the healing oil. I just can't say enough great things about Virtue! The first time I tried this it was based on a recommendation from my daughter. I had never even heard of this brand before. The curl conditioner and the curl shampoo are nothing less than miraculous. I am in love with both of these products. I went to visit my mom recently. I was pulling my teardrop camper so I just wanted travel sizes. I thought I could make do for a week using some other products I had in travel sizes. No. No. No. I ended up going out and buying new bottles because I couldn’t stand to be without them.carla.b
So I was very hesitant to try this shampoo because of some of the reviews but now I regret not trying it sooner. Some of the complaints are that it doesn’t get your hair clean and i feel like that may be true if you’ve only ever used shampoos with silicones and switch to this. You have to use the clarifying shampoo first if you have never used silicone free before otherwise the moisture won’t get to your hair because of the silicone still left on your hair strands. This shampoo makes my hair so soft and has such a luxurious lather. I didn’t think I would like the nozzle but the shampoo is a thinner consistency so it comes out easily and deposits right on the scalp. I think I’ve finally found my holy grail shampoo. My hair is no longer frizzy and my curls are defined. You have to try it!paigespink
The one good thing about this shampoo is the packaging. The product goes directly onto the scalp with the perfectly sized nozzle. That's it though. The shampoo smells like men's deodorant. The smell doesn't fade, either. The shampoo doesn't rinse clean. My hands and hair felt oily and heavily conditioned just from the shampoo. It left a film on my hair that seemed to make it fall straight down. All of my waves and curls hung limply, with no definition, lots of frizz, and just awful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHAMPOO. *I'm going to review the conditioner and weightless shine jelly separately, but they are awful as well. Why does every single thing smell like Axe body spray? This is an oldie compared to all the recent products. But if you want to start your collection start here it only gets better from here and this is already pretty amazing. I’m convinced the Lord himself blessed this. Your curls will be soft and so bouncy after using this product. I received so many compliments when I did my wash and go. So many people ask me what do I use and I tell them, Themanechoice conditioner. I’m transitioning my hair from relaxed to natural and I wanted a shampoo to help detangle my two textured hair. I started my wash process with the Mane Choice Pre-Poo to help detangle my hair after wearing braids. I then followed through with the Detangling Hydration Shampoo and I’m happy to say that my hair didn’t tangle under the water.
