First time trying this tire out, and have not had it on very long so cannot comment about longevity. It did take some work getting the bead to seat properly, high pressure and letting it sit finally popped correctly. As for traction, I really like it. I ride in wet rocks, tree roots, technical single track. I run the tire at about 10-10.5psi in rear. So far i'm very impressed with the traction, and this could be my little go to tire gem.Bri Guy
These a great tires for larger DS bikes like my XR650R which is street legal. Also ride flat in an emergency is well worth the heavier carcass. Just rode 40 miles home with a flat on rocky jeep roads no problem, it did not even break the bead from the rim. Anyways, I noticed the new one recently installed (i have had seven 907's over the years) began losing small bits of the knobs after the first couple rides which puzzled me. The description says new compound so they must have changed this. Hopefully it wears as well as the others which is around 1500 miles 90/10 dirt/street.JON

Installed a pair on my F850GS which was outfitted with knobbies in stock form, used for 2 recent trips totaling a little over 4,000 miles. Let's start with dirt/gravel first; even though the road felt like packed dirt with some gravel, the tires handled very well. The objective was to slowly ride up to my families property in the mountains, not venture out in the wild like one would on a set of knobbies. For short slow runs, they did very well on dirt. Next let's talk twisties, lots and lots of NorCal twisties for 3 solid days! We're talking about a 500lb bike with panniers. Absolutely amazing grip, aired to 34/33psi. This trip also included some rain, maybe an hours worth of rain in the twisties. They felt very well planted with no twitching or sign of loosing contact, granted lean angle reduction combined with smooth throttle application also helped. Last trip was to the track, Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs to be exact. Tire pressure was set to 30/32, and again with loaded panniers the tires handled the track admirably well at a fast pace. The only slip I felt was coming out of turn 6 where the rear stepped out a few inches and immediately regained traction after. This happened when I got comfortable with the track and picked up the pace later in the day. So far with a little over 4,000 miles the tires have plenty of life left. There is a slight amount of flatspotting on the rear tire, but that's to be expected when traveling from AZ to CA. Had I ran the tires on the long journey at the bike's recommended PSI, I'm certain it would have less flatspotting. These are amazing tires for the twisties, everyday commuting and rain, granted one considers what their design parameters are. There is very little competition in the tire market with a 21" front size when it comes to grippy road rubber.Aron
These made my Tracer 900 gt feel like an entirely new bike! I bought these before going on a long road trip that required gravel and dirt roads while also hustling through mountain twisties and with 4 hours of interstate pavement pounding and the bike felt like a dream in all applications while the off-roading and twisty roads would have been less than confidence inspiring with the stick rubber that I switched out of. I would not suggest for anything more than fire roads with these tires but time will tell!Matthew
Just changed these out at the 10K mile mark. Trying out a set of Conti road attack 3 this time around to see how the 2 compare on stick and distance. Riding a R1200GS, I commute near daily, occassionally in the winter rain. Have been caught in the occasion downpour up in the Sierras and was very happy with the wet performance. Living in San Francisco and with lots of coastal riding means plenty of wet roads from fog and twisties are a typical weekend ride for me. As for stick, I have found myself pushing these tires with the upmost of confidence in turns and wear down to the outer edges. Took them on some fire roads, dirt/gravel, but not overly loose, they were as expected for a 90/10 tire. Mud, I am sure would have been a challenge. Was a mountain road so plenty of vertical change to test grip climbing and ascending. At 10K the rear has clearly squared of, I am getting into the wear indicators on both the front and rear. Overall I really loved these tires, trying the Continentals out to get the feel of a similar tire. The single compound differential heat method of Continental so far is showing a better transition into turns. The Pirellis did have a little of transition feel on turns, but nothing crazy and faded away over time, The Pirellis have set the bar high for stick in turns and wet performance. We will see how mileage compares with my Contis and stick for that matter. Just took a quick easy tour through the local coastal mountains to get some wear in on a wet day, so still need a dry run to see how the perform on a dry day. Best all-purpose tire "18 that I've used, great at running GNCC-type events, great at Moto, and even single track in the mountains of BC. The ware is fantastic and the price is not bad either. I have had these tires on for about 2k miles so far. Paired with a Motoz ADV Rear. On dry tarmac: Grip is great after about a 300 mile scrub in, until you wear off the casting seal it's a little squirmy. Wet Tarmac: Grip is as expected for a knobby, not great, doesn't shed water as well as the 804. Dry Dirt: Turn in is good however it does break loose a good bit more than the Motoz MKII, it is slightly better than 804 in dirt. Mud: Packs up fast and doesn't clear great. It's a compromise tire so understand that. Overall: I consider the Shinko 804 / 805 as the most average tire for larger ADV bikes. The front of this set is better in the dirt and a little less on the road. If you do moderate off roading or more challenging single track it will serve you well in dry conditions. At 2k it's not excessively cupping and is wearing very well. Pairs great with Motoz ADV rear! Unlike Motoz fronts…Michael
Don’t get me wrong, these tires look awesome and perform great. But I definitely wont be buying another rear ever again. I ride a lot, I’ve got 1200 miles on a week old KTM 1090 adventure R and this rear tire is going to be bald in 200 more miles. I can’t be spending $200 and changing my tire every two to three weeks. It really bums me out because the tire is fantastic. I ride it hard in the twisties like a sport bike and these tires handle it no problem, and they just look killer on the bike. If you ride your adventure bike once in a while and the majority of your time is in the dirt, this might be a good tire choice. If you travel a lot or ride a lot of roads this tire melts fast. This tire wouldn’t even last for a single trip with some hardcore ADV guys. The front tire looks much better, and still has some of the wear hairs on the outer knobs, I expect it will last significantly longer so I might continue to run the front one.Dane
TKC80s are the Swiss Army Knife of dual-sport tires. They're really good in easy to moderately challenging off-road conditions and surprisingly good–even great–on the road as well. Wet roads are no problem either. I've found these to be an excellent "compromise" tire–except I don't feel like I'm compromising much! These are for the rider who enjoys the "twisties" but wants to explore that jeep road a few minutes later……Jon

I put this on the front of my YZ250X in 90/100-21 size. Several rides on it now, mostly in the mountains where there's lots of rocks and roots. They are holding up fantastically. They don't offer much in the way of feedback, and when I first rode on them I didn't care for the way they always tried to climb out of ruts and single track trails, but I bumped the pressure up to about 12 psi from my normal 9 psi and that really helped. They actually have pretty good cornering bite, but you have to just sort of trust them because you can't feel it. I'm running with heavy duty tubes. I only use the X20 tires for MX. Glen Helen has added a LOT of sand to the track and my X30 intermediate tires just weren't cutting it there so I got the X20's. Rear – 120/80-19… At first glance, and compared to the X30, the rear looked like a paddle tire to me!! Stiff sidewalls made mounting more of a challenge but on the track the tire worked amazingly well in the sandy straights and turns. Inside or outside lines were not a problem and the tire hooked up well on entry and especially on exit. As the track dried out the tire still hooked up well and even on the harder parts of the track it maintained bite into the dirt. It performed best the softer the dirt/sand were but made a good transition onto the harder and drier parts of the track. Front, 80/100/21… At first glance the knobs didn't grab my attention like the rear did but as I looked closer they are spaced well apart and taller than the X30 knobs. Like the rear, the sidewalls are stiff and can make mounting a challenge if the tire is cold. On the track the tire excels in the soft dirt/sand and make a good transition into intermediate dirt. Once the harder parts of the track dried out the front tire wanted to skate a bit when entering and exiting the corners. Not horribly but made me pay attention to line selection. I did not realize the front is directional until AFTER I mounted it so I had to take it back off and remount it in the correct direction…something to pay attention to when putting the tire on!! -m-2018 KTM 450 SX-F–ERNIE
I race xc events all across Ohio…and this tire has exceeded my expectations in every way. I've use just about every brand over the years, and I always come back to Bridgestones due to how well they work and hold up. So far I have 4 races on this set of X20s and the rear tire has not chunked up, and they have tracked awesome in the ruts and roots. For being more of a soft terrain tire, they worked really well outside of the muck as well. I have used the old m101/102 tires before, which did great in mud/sand, but were awful outside of the most extreme conditions. These are better than most intermediate tires and have much better manners for varying track conditions. This year has been much drier than usual for spring, so I will be shifting over to the X30s for the meat of the season, but I can't say enough about how well these tires perform in the conditions that they are designed for! Seems like a pretty solid offering for a true dual sport tire. Loud on the road, but grips pretty good. I have about 1500km on it on an xr650r, and it is in good shape. I think longevity will be pretty decent for full knobbie. I also got the 606 front… Can't say i recommend that. Feels skittish offroad on FSR gravel, and is so hard to turn in on road i find myself doing the opposite of countersteering. Ps both are quite difficult to mount. Rear is worse. So stiff, i could barely force it wide enough to slip the rim in to start.Bsmith
I just rode a couple days around Death Valley and had a flat tire about 45 miles from camp. After replacing innertube, it went flat again so decided to ride it flat until tire gave out. Well, the tire never did give out. We rode all 45 miles back to camp on dirt and pavement at speeds up to 60 mph and the tire never even wobbled. At camp we replaced tube with new one and I rode the same tire all day the next day with zero issues. These tires are amazing!!david
I bought these for an annual back-country excursion. In years past, I have used my 70-30 or even 80-20 (if they were new) tires, so naturally I was impressed with a more aggressive tire. We encountered sharp shale (range from small to 12" blocks), smooth river rock, coarse sharp granite, mud & deep water, lots of gravel, and some sand. It handled all well, and gave good grip in all conditions. Altogether we rode about 800km, and I will get one more such trip out of these tires. The photo shows the rear tire after the trip. Leading edge of the centre lug is rounded, and the lug depth is noticeably reduced. Using as rear tire on Turbo SL ebike on MTB trails west of Denver. Much much better than the Specialized Eliminator 2.3 that came with the bike and only lasted a few weeks before multiple puctures and lots of side knobs were falling off. DHR II is heavier, which doesn't really matter on an ebike, but I think the thicker casing will eliminate a lot of flats. Still fairly new but seems very supple and you can feel some cush which helps with more grip/traction. Dual compound is great for the rear and will last much longer than the more expensive Terra or Grip compounds. Shipping is expensive but you still can't beat this price. Just bought two more and they arrived about 10 days faster the second time.Chris
It always should be said to choose the proper tool for the job. With respect to traction in turns and on the damp, these tires are legit. I doubled up and ran DHR II both in the front and rear. Still getting a feel for it but so far I think it is just as good as a DHF/DHR combo. I push about 25psi/26psi front to rear (195lbs). I am notorious for being rough on tires and tend to slice side walls in the chunky stuff here in CO. I switched to Bontrager SE4 and they stood up well. So why come back to Maxxis and if you are rough on tires why go with a tan sidewall which is less durable… Because it will lighten things up weight wise,, but really because it looks dope as hell. I'm working on line choice this summer and sparing my bikes trauma. I'll look good while doing it.Bryce R
I love the DHR2 as a rear mtb tire. I tried the Dissector, but it didn't have quite the breaking traction I was looking for. I am about 3 yrs into this mtb journey after years of bmx racing. I want the lightest toughest tire I can get my hands on, like everyone. Maxxis EXO came OEM with EXO. Took a while to cut the rear tire, but did on a very sharp rock. The rock was like a knife, stuff happens. However EXO+ is not the way to go. I have been through 3 EXO+ rear tires in less than 2 yrs. I ran the Dissector DD for 6+ months no problems. I go back to the DHR2 for the grip. I have a Cushcore installed to keep from getting pinch flats like I did on the last EXO + DHR. 1 min into a 8 min stage, I hear the rim hit, not hard and then feel and hear the air screaming out of it. Ultimately kept me off the podium. Now I read articles from 4 months ago, Maxxis knows the EXO+ casing is not holding up it's end of the bargain, so they are making it now like they should have in the first place. Maxxis, can I get my $105 back or a new tire that doesn't puncher if the wind blows to hard? I had less than a month on a DHR2 and a hole smaller than pin head cost me the money and a race. I like Maxxis and have only purchased Maxxis for my mtb. I have now had to purchase another $100+ tire a DD. However, a brand new tire should not become useless after 10-15 rides, unless you are riding something the tire wasn't designed for. Traction and rubber compund are a 4 star +. Please make sure you rate your tire sidewalls appropriately. I could have saved $25-$30 and gotten the same performance out of a EXO. If Maxxis would like to contact me, and offer a new tire that would be awesome. The tire looks brand new except for a very very small hole. I mounted these on my lightly loaded Husqvarna 701 just before doing the NMBDR. I found them to be pretty capable in mud and very good in sand but really squirrely on most forms of gravel. Since ADV bikes spend a lot of time on gravel that is a deal breaker for me. They have worn pretty well and the wear has been quite even; the rear is now Kaput at 1800Miles and the front is probably good for another 500. I tried various pressures. At lower (~20lbs) they were squishy and squirrely. At higher (29lbs) they were bouncy and squirrely and at medium (26lbs) they handled best. The front tires seems to deflect off of rocks, especially now that it is worn. Now at 1800 miles I have cracks at the base of 100% of the rear knobs although I haven't chucked any yet. The on-road performance is OK but now that they are worn I won't be leaning into any canyon curves. In conclusion: I think these might be an OK selection in sandy and slightly muddy areas. Here in the SW and in the Rockies these are not recommended. the TKC80 is a better all around tire and the D606 is much better at off-road.Monte

My priority is off road because I cant afford to get stuck in a remote area. Most of my riding is short, local errands – as I use my bike as a "smart car" instead of driving my GMC denali. Most of my real riding is either country roads or gravel roads. I don't mind the lower level of performance on the road – I am not riding a crotch rocket. I just ordered a set for my 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan for the same reason – it replaced my XT. Same type of riding. They worked well for my purpose and the only time I have had a tire performance issue is with the tires that RE put on the bike when they sold it – things were like banana peels.Michael
About 300 miles on the tires mounted on my DRZ 400S and like them better than the 50/50 Midas E07 they replaced. I got caught in a down pour on a seasonal road with sand/clay mix and occasional standing water. I would have been cautious with the E07s but these tires got me through at speed with confidence. The road manners seemed to improve after a 100 miles or so, but maybe it was just me building confidence in them. Expect them to wear quicker than less aggressive tires but so much fun off pavement I don't care.Michael

I run this on my DRZ and have been very satisfied with it on the rear. On dry rocky dirt this tire just grips. It's hard to spin the rear tire with this much grip! In corners it's stable, and when it starts to lose grip it's predictable. Haven't tried it in mud. On pavement it corners well but wears out quickly. After 1500-2000 miles the tread is at 45% or so. I also noticed that the center knobs have started to crack and partially tear off after a good amount of aggressive rocky off road riding. The tire seated well with some soapy water and 30-40psi of pressure. If you do a lot of pavement time, this tire won't last long. I do 50/50 street/dirt and it's acceptable, but will be going for a tire that wears more slowly after this MT43 wears out. It's a great dirt tire though. Excellent tire!! My friend Jack put me onto these and the results have been incredible. Once you try one, you will not go back to a knobby rear tire again. On the front, I run a Kenda Millville II with excellent cornering and traction results. It feels like the back is gripping all the time and pushing the front tire into the ground and making it stick. The feeling is incredible and I am faster because of the trials tire. Longevity – twice that of a knobby tire (30 rides instread of 15). Versatility – excellent except on off camber dry grass hills. The stock tire on my KLR was busted after 3600 miles, so I sourced this as a cheap replacement. The improved offroad grip is immediately noticeable, and I don't feel like I've given up any onroad performance for it. When you're corning on the edge of the tire, you can feel the knobs, but they don't let go. You'll hear the droning noise on the street, but if you're touring/commuting, you should be wearing plugs anyways. I haven't tried these in the mud yet, but for sandy, rocky, dirt terrain, these are easily worth twice the price.Peter
This tire is pretty good if you plan on doing road and dirt riding. I bought it because the Kenda k760 trail master is out of stock everywhere. I have it on a set of dirt wheels for my drz that I also have supermoto wheels and tires for. As for my application it isn't the best tire, treads aren't quite aggressive enough because that set of wheels really only sees trails and seasonal roads. It does have a good bang for the buck though. It does work for my application but washes out a bit when you're riding too hard.Connor

These may be the best value in motocross tires. Great grip, good handling, and excellent longevity make them perfect for both casual and serious off-road and motocross riders, and the low pricing makes you feel like a champ with your finances. They do seem to take a little time to break-in, but, once they do, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well they perform, especially in hard and/or rocky areas. Just because Bridgestone doesn't sponsor any racers, does not mean these tires are behind the times; on the contrary, they feature some very modern ideas, including the much-lauded block-in-block tread pattern, plus an innovative cooling function on the rear. I have 5 hours on these new tires in hard pack trails of NW Washington State and they are performing as advertised. Getting a great "bite" on this hard pack and loose gravel terrain and the handling characteristics over exposed roots and small logs have been terrific. I have not had them out in the wet that frequents our area but expect they will handle similarly. A great tire for performance & value!JOHN C
Honestly, it's no the best tire for what I do but it's a really great tire and provides a lot of traction and makes the handling a lot more responsive for my CRF 125 FE or (big wheel). The tread life is great I ran this tire through rough Nevada terrain and tough rocky Utah terrain and it great. I probably have 600 hours on this tire and it wore down but no that much. This tire replaced a Dunlop MX 31 which was a joke of a tire. Never buying another Dunlop as long as I live! The MX 31 knobs ripped off almost immediately. Bridgestones have always held up and this one is great! Just did a 5 race series and it still looks brand new! OMG! I learned my lesson and will never stray from these proven tires. Goodbye Dunlop…. I ride in mostly loam and sand. Lots of roots. Occasionally will find rocks at local hare scrambles. My main complaint with soft to intermediate tires is that they seem to wear and lose grip quickly. I would say subjectively that the 204 has 95 of the grip of a new MX32 when new and 200%+ more grip when each has about 8 – 10 hours on them. Their only real weakness is rocks of course. They don't chunk much on rocks, but like most soft tires with hard rubber compound they do spin easier on rocks. i have got two rides on a set of the m203/204 combo, and so far i am really impressed. first ride was wet and muddy and they hooked up great and were predictable and shined in all phases. in the slop i was able to hold a line and keep momentum. the front end was very predicatable and i had full confidence in the front. braking seemed very good too. Second ride was in the high desert, dry loose silt washes and tons of volcanic rock beds. lots and lots of rocks beds 🙁 In the fluffy stuff they were a little skatey but anything would be in the silt fluff, even still they felt predictable. on the rocks they did well and didn't chunk. admitedly i was babying them knowing they weren't designed for the rock piles and they didn't blow any knobs off and barely showed any signs of wear.. the 403/404 combo would have been better for the rocks but this was my first time riding this area. I really happy with these so far and will wait and see how long the knobs stay on as time goes on. Already liking them better than the old m12 front i used to run, but got tired of blowing knobs off the michelins after 1/3 the tread life. these b-stones are some great tires. i have got two rides on a set of the m203/204 combo, and so far i am really impressed. first ride was wet and muddy and they hooked up great and were predictable and shined in all phases. over rooted out climbs they clawed for traction and in the slop i was able to hold a line and keep momentum.
