Best Dry Shampoo For Thin Oily Hair (2025 Update)

I used this in combination with the replenish mask, hydrate lotion, and style cream. Functionally, this shampoo worked great. It had a nice lather, did a great job of removing build-up, without being too drying, and so far has not made my scalp itchy. I have a dry and sensitive scalp so thats one of my bigger struggles. The packaging also looks very nice although the screw off lid is annoying from the user end. My 3-star rating really comes down to the scent. I prefer hair products that have a fresh, natural, and pleasant scent while I am in the shower and fade away to the background after I shower so they don't conflict with other products. This is not what ABC's products are aimed towards. All of the products have a very strong flowery perfume. It's almost unpleasant in the shower, it's so concentrated, and it really lingers after you shower. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that is sensitive to fragrance or anyone who isn't a fan of floral perfumes. I personally was hoping for a light citrus/neroli scent.Kate

I am giving this away because I cannot stand the smell. The company describes it as "date and cinnamon" which sounds lovely, but I think it smells like old lady rose perfume. It is definitely floral but not in a good way. I have never gotten rid of a product because of the smell before – even the ones that I didn't love the smell of. It is soooo fragrant – not subtle at all. So you if you can take a whiff of this in the store, I would recommend it before buying it. Product was OK on my hair. I have fine, thin, color-treated hair. The first time I used it it was very heavy but I probably used too much. The second time I used less and it was better but it wasn't anything to write home about. I love this shampoo. I have really fine, straight hair and it tends to get oily quickly. I've been using the shampoo for a few weeks and this is the cleanest my hair has felt in ages. There is no build up or residue left over, my hair is shiny and has a little bit of volume (as much as it is capable of), and it does not clog follicles or mess with my scalp, nor does it leave my hair feeling dry. I have been using cruelty free products for decades and it is really hard to find a shampoo that doesn't weigh my hair down. I just love this one. It is a thinner formula but lathers nicely. I love the fragrance. It is a mild floral, and smells like one of the Kiehl's floral shower gels from the 90s. I also like the simple packaging.RaeCat

I bought this on a whim because I was sick of spending $20+ on the prestige hair brands of dry shampoo when I go through them so quickly. I like Batiste, but I feel like my hair got oily/greasy really quickly with it. This dry shampoo is *chef's kiss*. I have outrageously oily hair and it does a great job of absorbing it and keeping it clean all day. It's also fabulous for texture and volume. My new favorite! My hair was in desperate of a wash when I picked this up. In fact, the dry shampoo I usually use was only making things worse. I decided to give it a try before I shampooed and I was amazed at how great it worked! It feels light, and clean. The gunky feeling was gone completely. And it looked great. There was a tiny bit of powder residue when I first sprayed it on (i used a lot) so I ran my hands through my hair and it looked really good after that. Oh yeah, the price! I really wanted to love this dry shampoo… however it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Pros: -smells really nice and fresh and in it’s name citrus -budget-friendly only $5 at target Con: – literally did nothing for my hair. I would spray it 2 to 3 times following the instructions closely but still barely getting any results besides my hair smelling really nice. My hair was still oily afterwards and I was left feeling disappointed. For its price point it is definitely an eye catcher as it’s budget friendly. However I would advise against buying it and just save your couple of dollars towards a better investment of a dry shampoo.angel.m

I LOVE Aveda products and I am absolutely mad for the scent of Shampure. I'm also a frequent user of dry shampoo, as I have long hair and I like to extend times as long as possible between washing. I was so disappointed (and I very rarely write negative reviews but, oh, do I wish I'd read the one-star reviews before buying). As many have said, there is very little control of the product with the dispenser (I thought it was a spray because I wasn't able to go into a store and see the product). The bottle is basically a powder blower. You either get a tiny puff or your hair and clothes are covered. The scent is super light, but I was looking forward to a little more of that wonderful Shampure scent. The worst part is, this doesn't even work. My hair still feels oily after using it and it's just like putting talc powder on it. And at the price I paid!!! And it's a very small bottle!! Again, wasn't able to see it first, thanks Covid. Had I known what I was buying, I never would have even tried it. So, live and learn and please, heed my warning. The dispenser is not great, as others have said you get a lot or get a little. When you get a lot, it is everywhere. You really only need a little. Spray it on your hair, work it through and let it sit for 10 minutes. If you used too much and you have an ashy floury look to your hair use a hair dryer and brush upside down to get the excess product out. The bottle does last quite awhile, I have been using mine every 3rd day for almost 6 months, and still no need to replace it. The scent is faint but does last until you wash the product out. The product is more like a thickener or braid grip texturizer. I have straight hair and I like it to feel silky, shiny, and have movement. Once I use it, my hair becomes stiff and almost impossible to run my fingers through. It almost feels like sticky hairspray but with grit. However, it makes my hair look ok clean wise until I have time to wash it. It is hard to wash out because of the stickiness. You need to gently scratch your scalp with your nails(you will see the build up under your nails) and actually wash the length of your hair to remove it. I have found I have to wash twice to really get the stuff out, which is not great for my hair. I wish Aveda had a formula that was for straight hair and left it silky. Still looking for the perfect replacement to the discontinued Oscar Blandi product I loved.Jenn36

I really like this dry shampoo. It gets rid of my greasy roots between washes and really gives added volume. One bottle lasts me ages and ages because you only need to use a little amount. It also has a pleasant smell. I also have the "foam reset™ rinseless hydrating hair cleanser". As it has a nozzle, it is easier to use than the Shampure dry shampoo. It also makes the scalp feel fresher (it's liquid after all). I don't find the scent as nice as the Shampure dry shampoo though. I would say both products boost volume (perhaps the dry shampoo adds a little more). In summary, if you have greasy roots between washes, go for the dry shampoo. If you don't opt for the foam reset™ rinseless hydrating hair cleanser as it's easier to use and feels lovely. I personally will probably continue to buy both, depending on what I think my hair needs on the day. Since switching 100% to Aveda haircare products, my hair can go much longer (4 or 5 days as opposed to 1 day) between washes before the roots look greasy. This product is amazing, but the spray cap is consistently defective but product is great! Pros: I'm able to not wash my hair for at least 3-4 days where typically my hair gets greasy after one day! Cons: the last THREE cans I've purchased the cap became defective after only a few uses which makes the product completely useless to the point I've switched brands !!!! This was my go to dry shampoo until I started having issues with the nozzle! It won't come out! I have 2 bottles with half of the product in it and I can't even use it. I buy in bulk when it's on sale so I bought them along with others on sale a while back and can't even return it! I'm disappointed. It smells great and gets the job done but if I can only use half of what I buy it's not worth it! Do not buy! Issues with the nozzle will cause you to not be able to use it! I used to love this product and it was the main dry shampoo I used for my dark brown hair. It would add great volume to my flat hair, though it did make my hair and scalp feel a little heavier (kinda felt stiff like hair spray was on it). The most recent time I purchased this in 2021, the spray stopped working. It leaked from the sides and just wasted all my product. You can try to get liquid out by turning the bottle down and spraying down instead of straight up, but too much liquid comes out and it doesn't really work. (For context, I have fine straight Asian hair that I wash every ~3 or 4 days. In dry shampoos, I look for dark hair-specific dry shampoos that add volume to my roots on the days I don't wash it.) I had really good experiences with Verb's Dry Conditioner Oil and Weightless Hair Oil, and when my holy grail dry shampoo (Batiste Divine Dark Dry Shampoo) was running out, I decided to go out on a whim to try this out, thinking I would have equally great experiences. I was wrong! I used this dry shampoo on second day hair, and while it left my hair feeling clean, it did nothing to add volume. It left my scalp in a weird in-between where it looked clean and not oily, but thin and limp. I don't usually spray dry shampoo on consecutive days (usually one douse of dry shampoo is good to last me for a few days), but I found myself grabbing for my old Batiste spray. Maybe I’m just used to the drug store dry shampoos, but I truly cannot feel this in my hair, in the best way. I have dirty blonde hair but this truly doesn’t leave a white cast on my hair despite it being kinda dark at the root. It gives just enough of a refresh (be proactive with it, it won’t save greasey greasey hair). I use it with the dry oil from verb on my ends to help smooth them out and it works amazing to help me go longer between washes. Also of note the nozzle on this is awesome, sprays out just enough, never too crazy, and has a nice dispersion. The scent is not my personal favourite (ouai still wins in that department), it’s a light powdery scent, it’s not overpowering or off putting at all and I can’t really smell it after about 30 mins. I brush my hair well to distribute the oil a little bit then I spray it in at the roots, and let it sit while I do something else for a little bit then brush it through and it feels light and clean, doesn’t get the weird waxy feeling that batiste tends to give. Happy to have graduated to big girl dry shampoo! Product is great but my bottle did come a little damaged, but still does everything I need it to.robbim

It’s almost like a perfume in itself without being overpowering. I LOVE this stuff. Over the years I’ve tried all sorts of dry shampoos for my crazy oily scalp. I love the bumble and bumble one but was drawn to this when it said it actually cleans hair, what??? Challenge accepted. There’s no such thing as day 2 or day 3 hair for me. It’s either the first half of day one or I get oily and my hair goes limp. I used this stuff for the first time at an event I had to fly to- I washed and blew out my hair the day before, traveled with it, slept on it, and with a few puffs of this stuff it genuinely looked as if I had just blown it out! I was/am astonished! I really only use this stuff on special occasions and stick to the bumble and bumble dry shampoo for daily wear as this product does get used up rather quickly (I have a lot of hair). Ok I never write reviews but had to for this product. I have always struggled with oily hair and having tried a plethora of different dry shampoos the dry bar one was the ONLY kind that seemed to actually work on me. I have tried the other living proof dry shampoo in the black bottle and it still didn’t work nearly as well as the dry bar one BUT I recently picked up the advanced dry shampoo and after one use I think I may have found a new go-to. It left my hair not only grease-free but my hair looks incredibly soft and shiny and overall just looks and feels really clean. I also love how after using this my hair doesn’t leave a chalky residue if I run my fingers through it like the dry bar one does. Like it seriously feels like I took a shower instead of dry shampooing. TIP: the lady at Sephora told me to spray this in your hair and then not touch your hair at all for a couple minutes and then flip your hair over and get real deep in your scalp with your finger tips which seemed to work great.ABee853

There are some bad reviews and I get it, but here's the thing, you shouldn't be using dry shampoo every day or even every other day. If you're hair is that oily then you're better off washing it. Over use of any dry shampoo would leave to dry, damaged hair. It's literally stripping all the good oils. That being said, this dry shampoo is perfect for time crunch hair styles (day of hair wash but have to go into work first) and I'll definitely be repurchasing. Doesn't weigh hair down. ok so i had this recommended to me by then stylist who recently cut my hair at the ULTA salon, but its amazing!! i have thick hair that gets oily the second day, i workout all the time which means i basically sweat my hairline out everyday. i used a small amount of this and no joke it made my hair look like i just washed it for a whole two days afterwards. you have to really rub it in but by god its a miracle!! it gives a good amount of volume and i was able to flat iron it straight the next day to extend my hair further. i gave this four stars bc it does leave a thicker residue but it washes out fine on the next shampoo (honestly its probably what kept soaking up the sweat and oil lol). I am impressed with this product. the price per ounce is much better vs another brand similarly priced brand like Drybar. I got a trial size version of this and hated it. It seemed to make my hair greasier. Turns out it needed a good shake to remix it. After that I fell in love. I have a super oily scalp and my thick hair can get washed in the morning and be 3rd day greasy by late afternoon. This saves me from having to resort to the dreaded greasy onion bun the day after washing. I can get away with 4 days without washing with this. It’s great for camping. Some tips: shake the can before using and pull sections of hair upwards and spray underneath. Spray in short blasts so you don’t overdo it. Let it sit for awhile then brush through your hair to disperse it. It’s best to use a few hours before styling or the night before so it has time to absorb the excess oil. It smells very hair product-y but that goes away with time (or a spritz of perfume!).barstr7

So in love with this product. Not only that it gives you a few days before washing your hair again but it also gives you a little colour to cover up that grey before your next colour. It’s easy to maintain when styling your hair. Easy to wash out. But one thing I discovered is don’t touch your hair after. It can leave the colour of it on your hands. It’s very affordable, but I buy more when it’s on sale. It gives you that fresh look and feeling between washes. If you’re thinking about trying something to give you a little pick me up before washing your hair, you should try this. Some will like it, some won’t. Personally, even if it was the perfect color and the color only stuck to hair instead of transferring to skin/nails/clothing/white countertops(!!), it would still be a no for me. The scent is not only terrible, but super strong and pervasive. It lingers, just like the color transfer, both in my bathroom and on me all day, and I hate it. If the overpowering scent wasn't 80% of what's in the can (and not disgusting and musky), I would absolutely deal with the transfer for this as not only a dry shampoo, but a quick and easy root touch-up/color corrector for daily use with no damage. But I can't walk around smelling that heavy, dark, masculine smell. Biolage has a dry shampoo with a heavenly scent. If they ever make that in a dark color, I'll never try another brand. I'm seriously considering a lighter hair color so I can use that one without the color distortion of the residue on dark roots.KH

I use dry shampoo sparingly but when I did, this was my go to. It was an amazing dry shampoo. The colour was nice and it gave great volume, it did make your fingernails look like you crawled in dirt if you touched your hair, BUT I COULD LOOK PASSED THAT. keep in mind I’m talking about the product in past tense, because they have clearly changed the formula. NOW- it literally doesn’t work. It’s not as stiff / drying, and the transfer is significantly less but it doesn’t soak up any oil and the volume is MIA????? What’s the point ??????? BRING BACK THE STIFF/DIRTY FORMULA AT LEAST IT WORKED! I can manage dirty fingernails and stiff hair for a day, but what’s the point of this doesn’t work for it’s intended purpose!!!!! I’m a big Oribe fan. I think they make fantastic products and the smell is to die for. I even buy their perfume. Along with their oil and shampoos I use. Now with that being said I was very excited to receive this product. Both because I’m a big dry shampoo user and a new mom if that doesn’t say enough… yea. And also because oribe isn’t a cheap brand and I figured their dry shampoo must be top notch. So my thoughts – smell is nice but I wouldn’t purchase this product again. If you need a dry shampoo more for texture when styling clean hair this is very light, doesn’t add weight, doesn’t add color (white out effect very common from other brands) and will add a light texture for hold. This is not a dry shampoo for actual dirty unwashed hair. I still had pieciness on top after using PLENTY of product. In fact I think that’s another flaw I needed to spray way to much just to get a basic absorption of oil/grease. So I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this product for a dry shampoo if you need it for dirty hair. I would for maybe one day dirty or styling needs. I have very oily hair and am always on the hunt for a new dry shampoo that actually works. This dry shampoo comes in a large bottle, the button is a little hard to push to dispense the dry shampoo evenly – you have to really hold it firm. It does smell really good though and has a kind of luxurious smell to it. I have used it multiple times now when my hair gets to the point of looking like you can pop popcorn on it. I have brunette hair and it hasn’t been noticeable when I sprayed it on. I followed the instructions spraying a little ways away and on the roots. Then once you let it sit you can brush through your hair. It has helped dampen the oils a little and given me an extra day to go without washing my hair. The gold adds a cute bonus touch as well that gives my hair a little sparkle in a good way. The reason for 4 stars is because $48 is an insane price for a single bottle of dry shampoo and just not doable for the average person. I would consider this to be a premium brand at this price. This dry shampoo works well, I would say a solid 8/10 in terms of oil absorption and adding volume at the roots. Why the 5 stars though? Gather round, y’all. I have medium thickness hair that gets oily almost immediately. Oil has always been an issue for me and now that I am coloring my hair, I need a good dry shampoo that I can depend on. I've tried a handful of other dry shampoos in this price range and this is how the GK Hair compares to them.The GK Hair Refresh + Care Volume dry shampoo is on the top of my list. It actually does the job AND adds volume. I can even do a bit of styling using just this. The top of my hair is black so the dry shampoo does show white when first applied. I normally apply it to the top of my head and bangs, which are the oilest. Then I brush it through my hair using a boar bristle brush. The white easily disappears through brushing and becomes unnoticeable, even on my black hair.I can use this about 3-4 days in a row without washing my hair. My hair does not feel sticky or oiley after using this product, but since it does some volumizing, it will make your hair feel a bit thicker and slightly crunchy if you use too much. The smell is not bad and not super overpowering. Overall, I was really satisfied with GK Hair dry shampoo, moreso than others.How do the others stack up?Batiste Original – Seriously feels like the cheapest dry shampoo on the market. Quality is not great. The smell was overpowering with a gross, super frangranced powdery scent. I absolutely despised the smell! Quality was poor and made my hair feel sticky. Could only use this once before needing a wash. Sometimes just using this made me want to wash my hair.Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo – This seems to be higher quality than Batiste. Smell is better than Batise and I could use this for about a couple days. Noticed I need to use more of this tho compared to GK Hair and can't extend usage for as long and I get some mild crunchiness with my hair.TRESEmm Fresh Start volumizing dry shampoo – this really doesn't do volumizing as well as the GK Hair, or at all. This actually works more similarly to the Not Your Mothers without as much crunchiness. It's not the most strong dry shampoo you may need to use a bit more than others. However, it leaves my hair feeling pretty naturally smooth and not weighed down. The smell seems a bit fruity and I dig it. Don't buy this for volumizing tho bc it's awful for that but great for removing oil!Bed Head Rockaholic Dirty Secret dry shampoo – This is one of my favorite dry shampoos, except for the fact that I need more of it than others to temper my oily hair. I've found this it's pretty mild and pairs well with a volumizing shampoo. I now use this (or the TRESEmm) with the GK Hair volume shampoo to make my hair last up to 4-5 days between washing. Having both is really beneficial. This product is fairly mild compared to GK Hair and leaves no crunch, oil, or residue. The smell is awesome and this is a great dry shampoo for mildly-oily hair. I can't use it alone on my oily hair unless I want to use an entire can per week, which I don't.Finally, I colored my hair about 2 months ago (Clariol black to Ion Jade ombr) and thanks to these dry shampoos I have not yet had to touch it up and my colors are still saturated and vibrant. I'm using dry shampoo every day except for gym days where I will wash my hair. Depending on gym schedule, I wash my hair about every 2-5 days, and rely on dry shampoo on no-wash days. This dry shampoo is amazing. I have fine dirty blond hair that easily shows grease. I don't buy this product from shopify, but instead my local grocery store. But for all those who are skeptical or hate the product, I am here to say this is hands-down the best dry shampoo I have ever used and I have used a lot of other brands. GK Hairlasts all day and days after with a quick refresher and for anyone who is saying it makes them look like an old lady with the white residue, you have to rub it in! If there's any left over, take a tissue and rub it across your roots, it'll disappear; believe me I know because I had the same problem. I've had people tell me my hair looks fabulous and that's after three days of not washing it! GK Hairgets rid of the oil and adds volume; I actually like the look of my hair better, day two and using GK Hair, Dry Shampoo. Only down side of this product is that it's a bit pricey and I probably buy a can every two weeks-three weeks (So it's probably more expensive than shampoo and washing your hair, but well worth it for days you don't have time to wash your hair!) I also have hair that gets oily after the first day of washing it so I tend to have to use a bit more than normal. I was looking for a heat protectant and a product that would help with slip as I round brush my hair. This is not it! It caused snags and snarls. I literally had to rip the brush through my hair. For a product designed to "heal" hair, I am sure I did some serious damage in one use. The description reads "provides gentle slip;" it absolutely does not have any slip and does the exact opposite! I discovered L'Anza shampoo through LovelySkin, so I thought I'd give this dry shampoo a try. It is another great L'Anza product. In addition to being a great dry shampoo that does not weigh down the roots where it is applied, I appreciate that it does not have a strong smell like some others do. I bought this on a whim because I was sick of spending $20+ on the prestige hair brands of dry shampoo when I go through them so quickly. I like Batiste, but I feel like my hair got oily/greasy really quickly with it. This dry shampoo is *chef's kiss*. I have outrageously oily hair and it does a great job of absorbing it and keeping it clean all day. It's also fabulous for texture and volume. I have dark brown hair and it definitely leaves a white residue, but it brushes out very easily. This is my new go to!Chelsea

My new favorite! My hair was in desperate of a wash when I picked this up. In fact, the dry shampoo I usually use was only making things worse. I decided to give it a try before I shampooed and I was amazed at how great it worked! It feels light, and clean. The gunky feeling was gone completely. And it looked great. There was a tiny bit of powder residue when I first sprayed it on (i used a lot) so I ran my hands through my hair and it looked really good after that. Oh yeah, the price! I really wanted to love this dry shampoo… however it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Pros: -smells really nice and fresh and in it’s name citrus -budget-friendly only $5 at target Con: – literally did nothing for my hair. I would spray it 2 to 3 times following the instructions closely but still barely getting any results besides my hair smelling really nice. My hair was still oily afterwards and I was left feeling disappointed. For its price point it is definitely an eye catcher as it’s budget friendly. I bought this to try out. I was intrigued by the whole foam concept. It works amazingly. I didn’t wash my hair for two weeks just to put this product through the test to see how well it works, for how long, if it layers well day after day, if it’ll make my hair lifeless and flat, sticky, dry. I have to say it did extremely well in each category. I have an oily scalp, busy lifestyle so a lot of sweat unfortunately and my hair is long and weighted so it can go flat pretty quickly and I have my fringe. My hair still had body and movement, some height to it, my fringe continued to look nice and sit in place, it didn’t do that parting thing like it normally does when it’s dirty, I could use it day after day without issues or looking or feeling horrible. Honestly I have nothing bad to say about the product. Even when I put too much product in my hair and it was pretty saturated with it, it still dried straight and in place in stead of going back to its frizzy, inconsistent, wavy mess it normally dries into naturally. I got this in my spring fab fit fun box. This product is quickie me dry shampoo for brunettes/ dark haired woman. Since I recently dyed my hair back to my natural colour, Its hard to find something that won’t make it look you aged 50 years. (White residue makes it look grey sometimes) It won’t leave a white residue in your hair like the other dry shampoos do. This stuff works so well. It gives my fine hair lots of volume and it even looks and feels full. The smell of it is amazing! 👃🏽 it’s not strong, but more of a light scent. They definitely have new packaging in 2022! I think this is a great product! I have been religiously using fragrance free for years as my only dry shampoo, and this has really taken the spot! It does have a scent, it is pretty unisex and light. On me it dissipates after about 10-20 minutes depending on what I'm doing. I don't find it clashing with me the rest of the day. The spray is strong, it really gets into the roots from far away. It being for darker tones is great, I have only gotten a little grey tone once when I was very, very close to the roots and forgot to shake the can. Otherwise no white cast at all. This COLAB Original dry shampoo is a brilliant product that left my hair feeling beautiful. It provided me with an instant fix when my hair was looking a little dull and gave me great confidence. The scent is beautiful, I love the bergamot and rose scent and could smell this for a long time after I applied it. I purchased the Original and the Overnight Renew from this brand. I just dyed my hair red. Red fades. I am going to do my absolute best to keep from washing my hair more than a couple times a week. I used to wash it daily… I want to keep my color vibrant for as long as possible. I've used the original formula before and I love it! It absorbs very quickly!! It smells great! I have grease prone hair and my hair tends to get really oily specifically around the root area of my head. I have to wash my hair very often which is very tiresome and frustrating in itself. I have previously tried dry shampoo products in the past but have never been impressed or satisfied with the results. When my hair is greasy, I feel really unconfident and self conscious as I like to look and feel my best at all times. Therefore I was quite sceptical but equally curious to try out the COLAB Dry Shampoo and see how effective it would be for me. Unlike other dry shampoo products, I was really impressed to find that the COLAB product does not leave behind any white chalky or dusty residue on my hair. This is something I have found problematic when using dry shampoo before, so I was really pleased that this left a sheer invisible finish on the hair and did not show up at all which is ideal for a product like this. The product is really easy to apply and dispense. The can is of a really great size and the packaging is beautifully designed, stylish, cool and on trend. I feel proud to have this in my collection as it looks aesthetically pleasing. The process to apply this to your hair is super easy, quick, convenient and time saving. You simply shake the can, spray onto roots and massage into your hair before brushing and teasing the hair for the desired effect. The spray works by absorbing oil and refreshing your hair from the roots. To be completely honest, this did work better at making my hair look less greasy than other alternative products but I was not overly impressed at how it worked on my own oily hair – it failed to really leave it looking really clean when it was extremely greasy. That being said, after using the product, it did take a way a slight bit of the greasy appearance and made it smell fresher and cleaner. I found my hair felt cleaner thanks to how soft it left my hair after using it and thanks in part also to the pleasant smelling fragrance. I like that the finish was lightweight and didn't leave my hair feeling heavy, product laden, wet or weighed down after application, in fact, it almost felt like I had applied no product at all. The spray leaves a gorgeous fragrance on the hair which gave me a confidence boost when then going out in public. The scent is strong, feminine and floral, it's a really beautiful aroma that stays on your hair for quite a long amount of time. I love that the brand is vegan friendly, cruelty free as I am making concerted efforts to be more eco-friendly, so I personally like that this is sustainability driven. To summarise, I think this product is great – if your hair isn't overly greasy or oily. It works on my own hair when my hair is maybe at the first stages of needing to be washed. However, once my hair is very grease laden, I feel the product only really works by making the hair smell and feel cleaner, not look cleaner. However, that being said, if my hair isn't too oily at the point of applying this product, it works effectively and really gives me a confidence boost. I have healthy fine hair which is prone to getting greasy. This shampoo sounded like a godsend and after first use I quite liked the results it certainly cleaned my hair. However after multiple uses I noticed my hair would be very extremely knitted after washing and brushing through was causing my hair to actually rip I could hear my hair snapping!!. This is very strange for my hair to rip I also noticed my hair felt kind of sticky or coated and running my hand through my hair again it would often rip !. I've tried every dark blonde and brunette dry shampoo on the market. I have fine hair and wash it about 3x a week. This shampoo not only helps with having it look fresh, I mostly use it for root cover up. It gives me an extra 2-3 weeks between colors. My hair is light blonde but my roots are very salt and pepper (mostly salt). It covers perfectly. Been using it for a few years now. This product cast serious doubts on the rest of the line for me. Dry shampoo is not something that black women use. It’s not for our hair type. Most people African hair tend to struggle with maintaining moisture so a product that is specifically for removing moisture, oil and ‘grease’ between washes is the exact opposite of my needs. This product tells me TRESemmé fundamentally misunderstands African hair and the needs of black hair care. Black women, do not use this. It will leave your hair feeling stripped of all the moisture you fought hard to instill in your hair. This is just not a product I need. It does far more harm than good to my hair. I have a love hate relationship with dry shampoos. Unfortunately for me, the TRESee Fresh and Clean Dry Shampoo falls under that. Hear me out before deciding not to give this product a try. My hair looked clean. It didn’t feel super heavy and the greasy shine wasn’t there after use. Did my hair feel the cleanest? No, because it wasn’t, but it looked clean and didn’t stink. That’s where my biggest issue is. I can’t handle strong scents for long periods of time. This dry shampoo, like many others, had a very strong scent to me. While I was grateful that whatever stench my filthy hair had was hidden, it wasn’t worth the headache I acquired. Does that mean you shouldn’t try this? Absolutely not! In recent years I have slowly became a fan of dry shampoo. I have had a bad habit of washing my hair everyday which I soon realized has been doing more damage than good to my hair. In no way does the fact the product was supplied to me sway my opinion. I love that the Beachwaver Co. Second Chance Dry Shampoo can has a spraying nozzle with a locking function by twisting. You can hear a click upon turning letting you know it is locked/unlocked. This product is fast and easy to use. The scent is refreshing and smells very good. It is made from a rice formula, is Paraban Free, Formaldehyde Free, Sulfate Free, Mineral Oil Free, Benzophenone Free, is Vegan, Cruelty Free, Phthalate Free and made from recycled bottles. My hair type however does not really work for this product unfortunately. My sides and back are shaved and there is length in the center which is usually off to the side. After reading and following the directions, I used the Dry Shampoo because I was in a hurry and needed to clean my hair. Perfect timing to try this new product- however, I was disappointed and dissatisfied with how it turned out after my personal use. My hair felt gross& dirty, but smelled good. Beachwaver second chance dry shampoo is a tool to get by another day until you can wash and style again. My roots were very grown out (2+ inches) and therefore got oily a lot faster than where my hair was bleached. I tried the Beachwaver Second Chance Dry shampoo and was a little shocked at the power of the spray! The powerful spray will lift up your hair if it is short to medium in length or layered. The scent is quite pleasant if you enjoy berry scents. The directions said that you brush any debris away with a hairbrush after oils are absorbed. I have yet to experience any residue from using the spray. After a bit I brush or style and the appearance of greasy hair is lessened our absent. Your hair oils are absorbed so there is more body but not significant body as if you were using a powder like Big Sexy Hair or a hairspray or other texturizing product. Best use is simply to avoid looking limp and greasy when your hair gets oily quickly or you want to wait another day until lathering up again in the shower.J from NW

I am usually super picky when it comes to dry shampoo, but this stuff is AMAZING! I received this product in my January Campus Wave box. I have very thin hair that often turns oily from working out and long days. I used to wash my hair every day because I had trouble styling next day curly hair and I didn't like the feeling of dirty hair, but I stopped when I started using this product. This dry shampoo has a very nice smell and doesn't leave you feeling super weighed down by the product. The scent lasts and so does the product! In my experience with other dry shampoos, my hair gets super textured and frizzy and looks dull and dry by the end of the day. But with second chance dry shampoo, you have fresh hair that lasts!Soraya
