This is not really a grill if you're used to using a regular gas grill. The heating is very uneven and as soon as you put anything on it, it takes a very long time to actually get hot again. The design of the heating element is such that the most heat is in the back where it's hard to put things because of the upper level. We made chicken and it had to be on the grill so long to completely cook it that it got quite dry. If you're going to cook one or two things that take up half or less of the grilling area then maybe it would work ok.anonymous

Purchased this grill along with cover because it was the perfect size. After 5 uses the grate has so much rust we stopped using for fear of rust in our food! The grate is only stainless plated!!! NO solid stainless grate is available for this model. We ran the propane 15 minutes before and after and oiled well each time. Also always covered. Don't waste your money..Ken504

I bought this a couple weeks ago from Ace hardware. I ordered it online and pick it up at the store. I didn't use it right away, I familiarized myself with the manual and booklets first. I live in a first floor apartment and have a pretty sizable patio porch. I did not have an outlet on the patio porch so I figured I would need an extension cord to connect into my kitchen. I went to Home Depot and purchased the applicable cord…25ft/ 14 guage/ I forget the amps. I don't have much plugged in my kitchen but based on the reviews I've read about the pull of electricity from the grill, I decided to unplug major appliances like my microwave. When I first plugged it in I gradually maybe 5 to 10 minutes apart give or take increase the dial to 5. I didn't increase it to five right after I plugged it in. The grill worked amazing. It was my first time using it on the 4th of July. I will be back to update my review if they are any changes. But I think taking the precautions with the right extension cord if you need one and gradually increasing the temperature. I think those things make a difference in not blowing out fuses.Deene

My family is a big barbeque fan, this grill works wonderfully well. This is a perfect size grill for me and can be used in the patio or on the kitchen top. I cook a wide range of foods like chicken, hotdog, vegetables, fish etc. it does a very good job of grilling and I love the authentic grilled taste of food. I like it's easy to remove stand feature which makes its easy to use from the patio to the kitchen top in no time. It has temperature control which gives 5 heat options for cooking any kind of food. This grill is well made and has a nonstick coating that helps to stop food from getting stuck on the grill which makes it easy to clean and does not take up a large amount of time. The chord is long enough to reach the outlet whether you are using it inside or outside. This looks stylish, compact in design and easy for me to move it around in the backyard. This is legit like a real grill that you can use inside your home or outside! It does not smoke like a normal grill would because your not using propane and your not burning anything. I actually used the stand inside the house too even though it does have the option to remove the main grilling portion and set it on your counter. The only thing that’s a slight downside is the grease does fall around it so if your inside you’ll need to clean the floor or areas below the grill after cooking. The majority of the grease goes right down to the little box that collects the excess grease during cooking. The lid too is a little bothersome because it’s not attached and when you lift it to flip your items you need a surface to set it down but it’s really not a huge deal as a table or chair works perfectly for that. The cleaning process is a breeze I just use paper towel and wipe all the standing grease down the little hole to the compartment and then scrape that into a tin foil bow and toss it in the trash. Then just wipe the surface down with the paper towel and throw them away, also I clean the floor around it if I used it inside. All around I love this it perfect for my family to use especially if it’s raining and it can cook a large variety of foods from the basics burgers and hot dogs to bacon and bologna!Kim143

With a name like George Foreman, any appliance with this brand is quality made. I have used this both indoor and out and have no major complaints. Following the user manual, it was easy to assemble, don't let the number of parts scare you. The cooking unit was easy to remove from the base (don't do it if it's hot) and carry.I love the non-stick grill but am disappointed that being electric, I have to wait a few hours for it to cool down before I clean it. The temperature dial is easy to use as shown in the instruction manual. I was able to throw 4 steaks on the grill (not real high ridged grates) and after adjusting the heat, ended up with amazing tender steaks. The dome lid has a easy grip handle that doesn't burn you fingers. I would suggest making sure you have a place to set the lid before you grill as there is no place to attach it on the unit. The grill comes with a 6 foot cord but using it outdoors, I needed an extension cord to reach the nearest outlet. I had a heavy duty outdoor one and the plug was perfect to use. I found that after removing the lid while cooking indoors, it does release a lot of steam that actually set off my smoke detector.( A sliding open/close vent on the lid would prevent that but I now know for future use.) But that steam made for some very delicious egg plant that was sliced and on the grill with the steaks. The grease drip tray is convenient easy to clean once it has cooled.Overall, I found it to be a great grill for that grilled taste without the hassle of charcoal or propane gas. This is perfect for use during winter or those who live in an apartment with a small balcony to enjoy. This grill was giving to me free in exchanfe for my review. Overall I gave it 3 stars. As far as cost goes I think its right in line for what you would get for just under $200. The grill is sizable and perfect for apartments and condoes with small patios. Perfect size for daily use, but probably to small for hosting parties. The few compliants I have about the grill, it being a plug in electric, is the cord isnt long enough only 5ft, I have to partial block my back patio door due to the shape of my house, and location of outlets. Also when winding up the cord, I would have liked to have seen the head of the plug to have the attachment that allows it to clip onto the cord, rather then having to try to tie it and make it secure. The next complaint is like most BBQ's it didnt come with a cover. Also it has 5 settings, and when turned on its setting dial lights up solid red, however at night even with my patio light located directly above it, its impossible to see what setting you are on due to the red light shinning. Though from use it seems I only use setting 1 and 5, but ill get into the why of that when I talk about performance. The next complaint is that you can't control different sides of the grill, its one setting for the whole grill, I like to sear on one side of the grill with high heat, and then move it over to the other side to cook at a lower heat. Plus much easier to cook different types of meat at the same time if your abke to control both sides of the BBQ. Which leads me to my last compliant about the design. Ita settings are listed 1-5, Ive owned a propaine powered infrared grill, and instead of 1-5 it had pictures of different meats with a legend stickerd to the shelf area saying what settings and temps to cook each meat at. I would have liked to have seen that on this grill as well. Or at the very least addressed int the manual, it doesnt even say what temp 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 setting gets to, one could assume that since it has a reading for up to 550 degrees that maybe each setting is a 100 degree increase but doesnt seem to be the case when using it. As far as performance, let me just say, the food taste amazing coming off this grill, the infrared cooking keeps meats amazingly juicy. However it seems like it takes forever to cook on it. The temperature gauge goes up to 550 degrees, but I can't get the grill to go above 350, and even getting to 350 takes awhile. I live in California and though I have been grilling at night and it is febuary, the outside temp is somewhere in the 60s, so outside environment should not be effecting the temp the grill reaches. One thing I did really like is that the grill has a 3 hour run time, I left the grill on to burn off the grease of the meat, and forgot to turn it off, woke up in the morning to find the indicator light was still on, but the not the heating mechanism. Looking in the manual its planned to turn off like this. And if you want to cook past 3 hours simply turn off, unplug and plug back in and turn back on. Im hoping with more use Ill find that the heat can get higher, ive used the grill so far about 6 times with the food always tasting great, haven't tried vegetables yet just various meats. Though I will say I had the same issues of not getting the heat very high with my propaine powered infrared grill, so it might be a common thing with the cooking style. I have owned 4 different Patio Bistro electric grills so I think I have a pretty good cross section of grill performance and longevity. Let's start with the positive…. – I have never owned a electric grill that produced better results. This grill gets hotter than any other grill and sears steak and tuna perfectly. I loved the consistent results of this grill, juicy chicken and seared steaks. These results are taking into account that it IS STILL AN ELECTRIC GRILL. So yes when you open the cover you will lose heat and yes it takes a little longer to get to temperature. The NEGATIVE: Each grill I owned (4 total) lasts just over a year, what a coincidence as the warranty only is for 1 year on the heating element and controller. Once one of these parts starts to go the GFI outlet will pop consistently as the unit attempts to draw too much power. The old versions you had the ability to unplug the controller and bring it inside, this added a bit to the longevity. But guess what, they opted for the cheaper functionality and now you can't remove the controller without disassembly. When talking to customer service, there response is that your grill cannot be stored outside in the elements as the controller and element will degrade because of moisture and heat/cold. I do my best to keep the grill out of the elements in terms of keeping it under an overhang and use a grill cover but bringing it inside…. come on!?!?! The price keeps going up but the quality appears to be going down on these grills. It is now approaching the price point of the Weber grills which last 3-4 times as long. I really want to give this grill 5 stars for the 1 year that it performs amazingly but I just can't as I hate throwing money away….. I just went through my 4th one and now since these grills are around 200 dollars I may have to go for the Weber……edge1977

I purchased this product about a year ago after moving to a condo that did not allow gas/flame grills. I have been using an outdoor grill for almost 20 years.degrees but the temp drops dramatically when the top is opened and it is hard to get it back to over 350 degrees. I hated this product when I first used it. (FYI-It is pretty easy to set up). It is NOT like a regular high end gas grill. I am still trying to figure out what/how the infrared technology works….Also, how to maintain a high temperature. I have been able to preheat to 550 This product cooks grilled vegetables beautifully. Skewered shrimp or scallops are super easy. Grilling meat has been trickier. I have found that any burger type (including boneless chicken breast or turkey burger) must be only 1/4 inch thick. Otherwise you can quickly sear and "bake" at 350 degrees- I found that disappointing- no thick juicy burgers. I just made the most amazing grilled butterfly lamb on this grill. Lamb, chicken and some pork like to cook lower and slower at 350 degrees, so I thought that I would try to use the grill. It was only 65 degrees with no wind outside. I had decided to pre-grille my veggies before cooking my meat. The unit had been on for about an hour at high (5). I was so surprised that (after having so many problems getting a higher temperature) that I had to keep turning down the unit to (3) and open the lid to get back to 350 degrees. I have read about and experienced all the issues about reaching and maintaining a higher temperature. I was pleasantly surprised and my dinner was excellent. Maybe it only worked so well because it had been on for so long and was heated through. I wish that Char-Broil would create a cookbook with recommended cooking times for this product that included meat cuts and thickness.suechef

This is a perfect grill for quick and easy outdoor cooking. We cooked steaks (thick ribeyes) and they cooked perfectly. The clean up was easier than my countertop Foreman grill, and it's easy! It heats up quickly. The book recommends cooking steaks on level 5, but we use just below 4 for slower, more precise cooking. We purchased this mainly for our vacation home that we also use as a vacation rental to provide renters the ability to grill without the concern of using charcoal or propane fire. Super easy to assemble — the hardest part was the handle, just because it's a curved handle on a curved surface and you have to line things up correctly for the screws to fit securely. No big deal. I'm thinking of getting another one of these grills for our house to make it easier than the larger propane grill for those quick grilling items. The drip pan cleans up easily and pops onto the top shelf of the dishwasher.CopperTop

We live in FL near a lake. Whether it is the climate here that destroys a grill in such a short time–not sure, but they all seem to rust out. We purchased what was supposed to be a stainless steel grill (all parts) and it did not even last a year! What we love about this grill is that it fits into the sink and can be cleaned up to sparkling new condition whenever we cook on it. Even the lid fits in the sink to be washed of the grease that forms during grilling. We turn it to highest setting and it grills hamburgers to perfection in minutes. Steaks are the same perfect state after about 3 minutes per side. We wish we found this grill sooner. We love it and if for some reason it wears out–we'll be buying another one of these. I don't miss the mess with either the charcoal or the propane and the grill that is so difficiult to clean. This grill is THE BEST in my opinion that we've ever had.JazzyBarb

We moved to a new house with a small deck right outside the kitchen. We've had gas and charcoal grills before and I wanted something that didn't involve coals or propane. I am SO glad I chose this grill. I've never been the griller before in the family, but this grill so easy to use and everything I've cooked has come out perfect. I absolutely love it. We are three pretty big eaters in our house and the grill size works for us. We don't eat red meat so I haven't tried a steak, but I've done turkey burgers, chicken thighs, all kinds of veg, naan bread, pineapple, fish, portobello mushrooms. Everything comes out great. Cleanup is easy. We're still using the same drip pan liner that came with the grill – just wipe it out and re-use – but replacements are easy to find and inexpensive. I ordered the grill cover at the same time and it was transported by literal snails, I think, whereas I received and was using the grill within three days of ordering it, so I had to bring the grill in every night if there were any chance of rain. I should have ordered the cover from the establishment that offers Prime shipping. But 10/10 recommend this little grill.kpp1966

The GFI unit did not work. I contacted tge wonderful people in Weber customer service an eeceived a replacement i one week. I have cooked two meals consusting of hamburgers and pork chops. Cookedvfaster than my old gas grille. The meat was seared and retained juices. The flavor was smokey flavorsble. Better tgan my fas grille. Clean up was easy. I rarely cleaned my gas grille. Just scraped the remnants of food off the grille and power washed the grille once in a while. So I much appreciate the easy clean up fir sanitary reasons.Ron76

I’ve been looking for an electric grill for some time. Finally decided to purchase the Weber Q1400.. I’ve just started using it, and so far so good. I need to look into how to achieve that “outdoor grill taste” because you don’t get that on any electric grill, but because I live in a townhouse, we’re not allowed charcoal or propane grills. I had to get rid of my Weber kettle grill which I had for a long time, snd I miss it. I’m anxious to get the wheeling cart, so I don’t have to put it on the table. It’s a Weber, so the quality is there, and the size is perfect for my needs. There’s enough room for about 8 hamburgers, and it’s easy to remove and clean the parts.MsGG

Works well and grills meats quickly. It held 4 burgers and 4 pieces of chicken, not sure about the "15" claim. It was plenty for us. It fits well on our deck and the heat was not an issue. Cleaning was a bit labor intensive but we were able to get all the residue off. I see there are some cleaning tips that I will try next time. Some grease missed the drip tray so I have ordered a mat for underneath. I feel like there are some small improvements to be made to make this the perfect grill. Still a nice product.lionsroar13

I ordered this grill after a lot of research on electric grills. The many ads for George Foreman electric grills are confusing and misleading due to several models that all look identical. I specifically wanted one with removable grill plates. This one did not have them although the description and comments indicated it did. It was not slanted in order to allow grease to flow into the grease tray thus making it even more difficult to clean. It is also very low so that you almost have to sit down to cook and clean. It's a pain!! There is no where to put the lid when not on the grill. Pictures show it hanging from the side and one description said it had a hook. This one did not. Another problem to deal with! One plus was that it cooked a very juicy pork chop and veggies that were also good. Still, I took the time to return it because it was not what was advertised and I was very disappointed.Missing my gas grill now

I have used this grill throughout the year on my patio (summer, fall, and winter) and have been most impressed by 1) the power of the grill and 2) the convenience of the grill. First, the power of the grill. I have always used a large gas grill and have had bad experiences at friends' or family's houses with some electric grills because they do not get hot enough or retain the heat. This has not been my experience with this grill, and I have been very impressed at how well it has retained heat and has been able to get a nice sear on my food. However, I do still use my large gas grill for smoking or larger projects such as whole racks of ribs, pork butts, briskets, etc. Second the convenience–I never thought I would end up using this table top grill more than my gas grill, but that is exactly what has happened. For smaller grilling projects (e.g., skewers, chicken, etc.) I always turn to this grill. It heats up so fast and is so convenient not to have to worry about having my propane tank full. I was looking for a convenient electric BBQ. This one is perfect! Basically all that was needed to assemble the unit is to take out the packing materials, insert the heat dial into the unit, and fold out the legs: no big deal! We cooked tri tips and brauts for five people; had to keep the unit on high to cook but it all worked out. The grill is small enough to fit in the dishwasher, so it is perfectly clean for the next BBQ. You pick up the BBQ by the handle to store away for the next use. I received this the Friday before Labor Day and used it to cook burgers the next day. The coils heated pretty quick and the burgers were good. On Labor Day I tried to cook steaks and the heat would not stay on. Ruined the steaks. I have moved the grill to plug into a different electric outlet and turned it on high. It warmed up but did not get very hot after 15 minutes. I am going to try steaks again tonight but if the grill does not work or does not get hot enough to sear the steaks I am returning it to Walmart. I hope they will take it back now that is has been used and I do not have the box. I am very disappointed after reading good reviews about this grill. This is a well constructed portable electric grill but the electrical temperature controller is either very poorly designed or faulty. It's settings are extremely non-linear; at the maximum setting the heating element is so hot that it triggers a power shut down making further operation impossible until the whole unit has cooled down. Small downward adjustment of the rheostat sets the heating element temperature too low to effectively cook. So, the temperature setting is either to hot to sustain continued cooking or too cool to be effective, all over a very small adjustment of the temperature dial.ACass

Overall this grill might come in handy if you have no other options to cook a meal. This grill earned one star for being easy to assemble out of the box. I only had to attach the feet to the legs and it was done. The other star is for the ease of storing. There is only one plug and the legs completely telescope in. The height of the grill is awkward. I had to bend over to use it since it hit right above my knees. I followed the instructions to preheat the grill for 10 minutes prior to use, however, I found that the grill struggled to remain hot. I tried cooking hot dogs on this grill and eventually had to finish them on our gas grill. I love Cuisinart products but this one didn't win me over.Hcap

I have received the one without the versa stand, so I'll comment on that. 1) Build quality: It is decent. Quality materials and feels sturdy. 2) Features: It's a grill. There's a temperature setting which is quite nice. Overall no gimmicks and does the job right. 3) Practicality: The oil tray is poorly designed. Once it is dirty it is really hard to clean. A cleverer solution could be possible. Another thing is the heater is below the grill stand. Which means it will receive the oil dripping from the food, which results in excessive smell (might be too much for some) extra cleaning effort. Overall, it does the job. Nice materials. Based on reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this grill, but I sure am happy I did! My only complaint would be the length of the cord, 6 more inches would make this grill a home run! A variable temp dial allows you to preheat to desired temp, (mine being sear), and in about 10 minutes, the grill is hot. It produces beautiful grill marks, better than my cast iron hibachi! This little gem is perfect for countertop grilling on rainy days, or anytime! The only time I have noticed smoke is either a very fatty piece of meat,(normal), or when I hadn't clean the underside of the grill correctly. The drip pan goes through the dishwasher no problem, and the heating element/grill surface, lifts off for easy clean. The surface is a non-sitck, and so far is holding up fine, and I have used this grill at least 10 times. I make sure to only use nylon utensils though. I would tell anyone looking for a reasonably priced indoor counter grill, get this one!!!! I was VERY happy to not listen to negative reviews. Perhaps they got lemons.cat stephens

While you are not going to get a true charcoal or even gas barbeque taste, it is light years better than a George Foreman-type grill. If you use marinades and seasonings appropriately, you can come close to the outdoor bbq taste. The splatter and smoke are minimal. Most meats cook in 12-15 minutes, with thinner cuts cooking more evenly. Clean up, both by hand and in the dishwasher, is easy. Something like a burger or brat/sausage is messier than a chicken breast or pork chop, but still not bad. Suggestions: put about 1/2 cup of water in the drip pan to help prevent flare-ups and make clean-up fast, and, if you are doing a chicken breast, chop or steak, consider putting a light coating of oil on the meat after marinating and seasoning, rather than on the grill. Even non-stick spray will work, and you needn't worry about smoke or flare-ups from the grill.M3

This works great as a flameless indoor grill and heats up quickly. You want grill marks and some char you can have it. A little smaller than I had anticipated so you will need to be aware of that depending on what you are grilling. If you are cooking for one or two people it is perfect. Cleaning the grill can be a pain but that depends on what you are grilling. I find laying down a piece of foil helps… and you can still get grill marks! Nice grease catcher and the bottom stays cool so it won't scorch the tabletop. The cord is a little short so be aware. My dislike but not a deal killer is it is a little bit on the light side. Not much to it overall especially when you remove the parts for cleaning. Turning that dislike around and you have a lightweight item that is easy to move around if you don't have a permanent place to use it. Overall it does cook well if you want or need a flameless alternative. It could be a little bit bigger but then how much room do you have on your counter top.Roy

Since Covid lockdowns, I was searching for a portable grill that I could use at home for Korean BBQ / Yakiniku nights since restaurants were closed. I found that a lot of forums had people reccomending the George Foreman Smokeless Grill! I purchased it and was very happy with the results. Even though I used it for a home Korean BBQ experience, I have also used it for quick grilling skewers and burger patties without needing to fire up the grill (it's super convenient since it's only my partner and me living at home). So far, I have been using it weekly for the last few months and it has been easy to use and clean. On top of that it's quite fun to operate. There are no issues with heart dispersion as all parts of the grill will heat up equally, this leaves my food cooking consistently through everytime.Jenjen

Having researched the grill prior to purchasing I had expected to perform a lot better. I agree with the other reviews it is smokeless, great size, easy to clean however I found the cooking times to be way too excessive. For example last night I cooked 6 medium sausages. Following the instructions I preheat the grill on the high setting begin to cook when the light goes out. Without exaggeration the sausages took 55 minutes cook. Previous night same procedure only this time with thin pork chops. Once again cooking time was 45 minutes. I also will to point out unlike the pictures I do not visible grill marks. I’m really disappointed having read all the reviews & people are so happy with the product. I’m left feeling that mine does not function at the same level as every other as no else has complained about extensive cooking times.Jack73

I purchased the Napoleon Electric about 2 months ago and I can tell you that I am so happy that I went with this grill. It may cost more than others on the market but it is well worth it. There is plenty of room on the grill and I can do a whole chicken no problem. Heats up quick and the temperature returns incredibly fast after raising the lid. I wasn't sure I would like it, works great. Fast heating and cooking as expected, better non-stick than I thought. Think foreman just different. Know what others will get for Christmas and birthdays. And those who are away at school. Still can't make an egg sandwich or ommelete, but none can do that. I used this regularly to grill veggies and even quickly toast bread. It was impossible to keep clean and the char build up, after just a few months, was very frustrating. I’m looking for a replacement with a removable grill that I can soak. Sorry, Gotham… you’ve been chopped.Cathy

My husband usually cooks with a charcoal grill but has had his eye on the George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill. I decided to surprise him with it which I was interested in it myself for those days when I didn't want to use the oven, especially hot days. I like the idea that it can be used on a counter top or on the pedestal which stands about 1/2 foot tall. I knew not to compare this grill to a charcoal grill with taste but it has the same feel to it but without the hassle of lighter fluid and matches. I was able to put this grill together without assistance so assembly was simple. The first time I used it I cooked on my front porch. It was raining outside and I found it neat to cook top sirloin on a rainy day outside. The grill plugs in, it takes about 10 minutes to preheat then add the food. I wanted to see how the flavor would taste without seasoning and let me say this grill can cook some good tastey food! So far I've made burgers, hotdogs, top sirloin and chuck roast without adding any seasoning. Cleanup is super easy, the grill part can be wiped down and there's little to no mess. I haven't had this grill very long but I look forward to what I will cook next. I haven't used it inside yet, because I like the fact that I'm able to cook on the porch. I can see where I could use it on our camper when we take it out. This really is a simple grill that makes great foods. The perfect grill for those who love that outdoor taste of grilling but are full time grill masters. The Large Non-Stick Grilling Surface is the best for making clean up easy. With 240 square Inches the round grilling surface lets your cook for the whole family or just your self. Plenty of room for multiple burgers, steaks I even grilled a whole birds chicken and even a nice size turkey breast. Being electric gives you the ability to cook without fear of flame up's and over cooking by using the variable temperature control. That is great for cooking a quick meal or cooking low and slow for amazing BBQ. The removable plates come in handy when it's time to clean up. Just let them cool off and and pop it into the dishwasher. The special non-stick coating will not be damaged or removed and I have washed them over 200 times. Now to the con's , a short electric cord makes it imperative that you will need an extension cord and that could lead to tripping and turning over the grill so be careful. Next make sure you clean the grill after each use. If not the grease drain will become clogged and it can overflow onto your deck or floor. Even when on the stand the grill may become a little unsteady so keep the kids away when cooking and until the unit is completely cool. Those are the only reason I do not give the unit a 10. Performance With the variable temp control you can cook anything . Versatility Can be used inside ( I don't recommend this) or outside or even in the yard. But you have to have an extension cord Ease of Use Plug and go easy as it gets. Grill came in earlier than expected. Price was great, as George Foreman's website wanted $129.99 and Ace wanted $119.99 and shipping was free! Easy to put together. I'd never used any George Foreman grill in the past, and having issues with chemicals, foods cooked over charcoal aren't good for me and never really wanted to go the gas route. If you are looking for the charcoal flavor or the flavor from the gas grill, you won't get it from this, but if you want the versatility of indoor/outdoor this is your grill! I live in a small house and the grill is out on the deck. But, living in Florida, when it rains, instead of taking the grilling component off the stand and using it on the counter (kitchen too small for that), it is so lightweight, that I just pick the whole thing up and grill in the house. The meats and veggies I've grilled so far have been juicy, with nice grill marks and I like the fact that I can grill in any weather. Smoke from the grill has not been an issue and I have a sensitive smoke detector. GREAT for those in apartments/condos where there would be grilling restrictions. Even though the cord is somewhat long, I do use an orange industrial strength extension cord and a three prong outlet, but you could use a prong adapter. With storing outside, I did purchase a cover. Found a weatherproof smoker cover from WalMart online and it fit perfectly. I do wish it would have come with just a basic grilling guideline, for starting out directions, but I did find some help with that online.Omwilita

We cooked a pork roast on the rotisserie. Wonderful flavor and moist. This grill is the best I have ever used. It is easy to use and clean. The motor for the rotisserie is so quiet. My husband uses it almost daily. It will be great for chicken as well as steak. It is a great buy.Rosie

Bought this after thoroughly researching electric grills for apartments not allowing gas grills. This came out on top. Been using it for 3 years with NO problems. Replacing the control unit for $70 as we were it out. Has a great size surface area, easy to control the temp, lid is a big plus. Cannot say enough good. Will get another when this one wears out. Use almost every day in spring and summer. We use a high capacity extension cord to plug inside in a spare outlet. It will pull a lot of power. Worth the extra efforts.MH

The grill and the cart make for an attractive package. It was an adequate size and easy to use. I was not happy that it was difficult to get to the drip pan for cleaning. I bought the grill in June 2012 and used it once or twice a week for the season. Next season, it worked for one or two months, then the element would go on and off. After one or two more attempts to grill, it completely died. Now, it was out of warranty. I would expect to get more than a year of use. I would not spend money on replacing the element and would definitely not recommend this grill.Jersey triller

Every time I plug it in, it trips the breaker. Instructions say to call an electrician if that happens. Well, it's hard to get an electrician to come out to our state park campground, which is why I bought the thing. Tripped the campground breaker and every outlet at the house. Plus, you shouldn't have to pay $$$ for an electrician to use this grill. Now it sits in the shed useless. So irritating.Donna

First of all, Walmart's price and service were great. It was delivered to the house cheaper than I can drive to the store…it arrived ahead of schedule…nice. The major limitation on this electric grill is the lower heat output. A 120v outlet is limited to around 1600w which is about 5500 BTU/hr. Propane and coal typically put out much more. 1600 W is enough, but you have to work on keeping the temperature up inside by keeping the lid on. The more you lift the lid, the more it will cool down. If you are the type that will constantly lift the lid to fret that the food isn't cooking fast enough, this grill isn't for you. Don't get me wrong, this thing will get hot, so for some foods, you might want to turn down the heat for slower cooking. So here is what I have found that works for me to keep it hot: 1. Pre-heat on high for 10 minutes 2. Keep the heat in – keep the lid on. 3. QUICKLY put on and flip food….when the lid is off, it cools fast. 4. Try to shield the grill from breezes because this will cool it down too. Some complain about the difficulty accessing the drip pan. If you mount the heating element loosely by tightening the lock nut by hand and then an extra turn, it will allow you to lift the element and pan out of the way and access the drip pan without undoing anything. Some people may not like the element being somewhat loose but it stays in place for me. Just make sure the nut is to the outside so the nylon in the nut doesn't melt. Overall, if you can work around the grill's limitations, the convenience of electric is great and will allow you to BBQ where the fire marshal outlaws coals and propane. I am still wondering if it will work OK when the weather gets cooler….we'll see.RMR57

BBQ is right size and electric. You do need to assemble this but it is not too hard. Probably took me 15-20 minutes but the second time I am sure it would only take 5-10 minutes. Instructions are a little weird (some sentences just seem to end in mid-point, and some terms appear to be incorrect) and the picture/figure of the assembly items are on the back of the instructions so you have to keep turning the paper over and over. One good thing about the instructions is they give you the different languages on separate booklets, so you can throw away the one you do not want saving you space in your storage. But all the items were there and I had the thing up and running quickly. Works perfect, great burgers…hope it lasts a long time. And it DOES get hot enough (just addressing one of the negative reviews).zuma2

I am very disappointed in this product and am returning it. I wanted a countertop griddle/grill/fryer, etc. that would not smoke up and stink up my kitchen and house, as I only have a "down draft" type of vent fan for my glass cooktop, and it doesn't do squat. I was hoping this appliance would be the perfect solution. It certainly sounded and looked good in the video. Alas, it was a big let-down when I tried to grill boneless chicken breasts (already cut into fairly small pieces) and it took MORE THAN AN HOUR. The directions said to give them 5 minutes per side. After about 70 minutes I finally shut off the grill and finished my (then tough and dried out) chicken in the microwave. I was actually afraid the water pan may have gone dry after all that time, and there is NO WAY to check it when you are using the grill. When the components were finally cooled off enough to handle and clean (another 20 minutes or so of dead time), I discovered the water pan was NOT dry at all. Yet for some reason I had a lot of water/moisture that had pooled UNDER the whole unit on my countertop, so I had to sop that up. Cleaning the grill itself was not bad because I had sprayed it with PAM first…but the components–the drip pan, the water pan, the exterior of the whole unit–all had to be washed separately and dried and then reassembled for next use, which was a pain in the butt. I was going to try to cook bacon in the griddle, but realized what a mess it would be to have to pick the hot griddle plate out of the unit without burning myself, and dump the grease somewhere without spilling it first. I DID try GRILLING bacon the previous day, and that was exceedingly slow…and messy. The bacon did not brown evenly…nor did my chicken last night, by the way. In all fairness, the first thing I made when I unpacked it was an omelette with 4 eggs. I LOVED the way it just rolled up and off the griddle, and it was delicious. But I really could have done the same thing, in half the time and with 1/4 the cleanup, in my electric frying pan. As others have noted also, there is nothing special about the taste of food cooked on this appliance. You might as well use your old George Foreman grill (a WHOLE lot quicker!!!!) or your oven or your microwave. The results will be better with less effort.JManning

I was so excited to get this product, and when I saw that it was on Today's Special Value I snatched it up without hesitation. I had read a lot of reviews, watched videos on it compared to other brands and saw nothing to make me think I shouldn't give it a try. Well I have never been so disappointed with a purchase in my life! I was so certain I would love this product that I immediately threw away the original packaging, if not this item would have been returned. The concept is good, I will even go as far to say that what I have made so far on the grill was very good. The problems come with cleaning the product. The first problem that I encountered was after washing the grill plate for the first time I could already see the nonstick coating coming off around the edges. I don't have a dishwasher so that was gently hand washing the item with mild detergent and a soft non-abrasive sponge. My second pet peeve, that may not be a problem to those who do have a dishwasher, but the grooves on the grill plate are almost impossible to clean. Especially on the bottom side of the grill plate, there are grooves that food particles and grease get in that are very hard to get to. The grease pan under the heat element and the water tray in the bottom are not as hard but still get very greasy with each use. Lastly the fan system, which is what makes this product so desirable to use indoors, after just two uses I could look down in the fan compartment and see grease build up. So the vapors the fan pull in have grease in them that is being pulled into the fan compartment which is not accessible to clean without turning the unit over and unscrewing and removing a plate on the bottom. I clean everything after each use but on just the fourth use had to access this compartment and clean the grease out of it. Just an overall disappointment. It's just not worth all the trouble in my opinion. I'm majorly let down QVC.gnlreed

I bought this at a Walmart store, not online, about 4 months ago. Things I like about it: It does grill steaks and hamburgers REALLY well. Chicken breasts not quite as well, but certainly passable. So, it does what it is supposed to do, and does it well. It's pretty inexpensive. Things I don't like: Mine didn't come with the griddle. I wish I had read the box a little more thoroughly. Granted, this isn't the manufacturer's fault. The cover does not seal. What's the point in having the cover if the smoke still comes out? The fan is underpowered and doesn't do a good job. It is barely adequate for the smoke created by a hamburger, and not at all adequate for steaks The grill doesn't clean NEARLY as easily as it is depicted in the infomercials. The parts can go into the dishwasher, but the grill surface itself rarely comes clean without a lot of effort. The inside of the machine gets greasy, and it's very difficult to clean that There are only 5 temperature settings. There needs to be more control. After 4 months, the non-stick grill is now sticking on almost anything I cook. It's a shame there are so many drawbacks to this device, because I was really happy with the way it cooked my steaks. I live in an apartment, can't have a barbecue grill, and this is about the only way I can enjoy a good steak. But if I had known that things went downhill so quickly with this unit, I would never have bought it.Pau
