With the rise of electric vehicles, investors may be wondering how they can capitalize on this growing trend. One way is through exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that focus on the electric vehicle industry. When selecting the best ETF for electric cars, there are several factors to consider.
First, look at the fund’s holdings. The ETF should have significant exposure to companies involved in electric vehicle production, batteries, charging infrastructure, and component manufacturing. Review the percentages invested in each area.
Next, examine the total assets under management. Bigger funds often have lower expense ratios compared to smaller ones. However, smaller funds can sometimes provide opportunities in more speculative areas.
Consider the index methodology as well. Is the ETF tracking an index that captures the industry holistically? Or is it honing in on a specific segment like batteries? The index composition can affect returns.
Finally, analyze the expense ratio. This reflects the annual fees charged to run the fund. Compare costs to other comparable ETFs. Lower is generally better.
Choosing the right electric vehicle ETF requires research and an understanding of your goals. But for investors excited about this sector, it can be a viable way to add portfolio exposure. Just be sure to evaluate options thoroughly before investing.

1. How To Buy An Affordable Electric Car: A Tightwad's Guide To Ev Ownership

Product Details:
Electric cars are here. trouble is, it seems many of the choices are high-dollar evs from luxury manufacturers. at first blush, it appears the average car buyer is not necessarily invited to the ev party. rest assured, there are more affordable models from mainstream manufacturers out there. this book will help you find them. but, deciding if you should replace your old gas burner with a shiny new electric one depends on your answers to these questions: how far do you commute? does the place you park at home or at work have access to electricity? will an electric car be your primary or secondary vehicle? what about tax incentives? can you really afford one? what will it be like to own an ev? here's your roadmap to making an informed decision that's right for you and your wallet. product details isbn-13: 9798831769586 publisher: tightwad garage publication date: 06-20-2022 pages: 186 product dimensions: 6.00(w) x 9.00(h) x 0.40(d)about the author matt delorenzo has made his career writing about cars. a former editor at autoweek and road & track, he’s written many books. among them are legendary american cars, modern chrysler concept cars, corvette dynasty, dodge 100 years and books about the volkswagen new beetle, pt cruiser, hummer h2 and 200 ford mustang format: paperback

Reviews:
The Pulsar is a good level 2 smart connected charger. This version comes ready to use since it just plugs in. It uses a NEMA 14-50 plug, also known as a RV plug. The unit is small and indoor/outdoor capable. Is has a LED light that glows or flashes different colors to let you know the state of the unit and its charging status. It's solidly built of plastic and looks nice. It's compact in size and comes with all mounting hardware needed for the unit and the J1772 charger end. Set up is as easy as mounting, and plugging in. Having a phone unlocks all the options available and advanced features. Setup is easy, just mount and plug in. But, here is the physical shortfall of the device. The cable length from the unit to the end of the plug is about 15". It's a thick cable, so it won't bend much. This gives really limited options for where the unit can be mounted. With the plug mount, the cable comes out the bottom for me, so it's mount to the left or right of the plug, and with the wiring for the plug going one way, I only had one place to put it. Only a little more than a foot for the power connection, so plan accordingly. The length of the cable from the main unit to the car is 25 feet and plenty long enough to connect to your electric plug. Once plugged in, wait a bit and the unit is ready to communicate. It set the max at 40A which is my limit on a 50A line. The first connection is through Bluetooth (BT) to a phone or tablet and the Wallbox app. Registration and connection is easy. The app will take a photo of the QR code on the main unit and connect. The app seems to prefer to use BT. I did get it to use Wi-Fi, but it drops a lot even with a strong signal. Once in the app, you can see charging times and Kilowatts used. It will break down use by weeks, year, etc. Set your electric price and it will tell you the overall cost of your charging. You can set a schedule for charging if you can’t in your car for certain days and times of the week. It doesn’t know if a different car is connected, so it’s all lumped together. It did charge right to the max ability of my car. The unit has a LED light on it to indicate the state if the unit and the charging status. Makes it easy to see what it’s doing at a glance. The light can be turned off if wanted. Upgrades to the firmware are done through the app. It also can to power sharing if you run multiply units at once on one line to prevent drawing to many amps while charging multiple cars at once. Overall, the unit does what it should, but needs a longer power connection cable to start. The app is improving. It’s simple to setup and straight forward. It will charge your car with no issues.grimmace
I was excited to finally see the WallBox Pulsar Plus available for purchase inside the US. We'd been following the L2 charger scene for the past year since acquiring our Jeep Wrangler 4xE last summer, looking for the right solution for converting from the included L1 slow charger to getting more than a daily battery's use through the use of an L2 charger. Our Jeep only charges at a maximum amperage of 30A so the Wallbox, offering up to a 40A charge was perfectly sized. We were also interested in the ability to de-rate to 30A to avoid any issues with overcharging or just wasting electricity due to conversion loss where the Jeep couldn't take advantage. The WallBox is just that – A box that mounts on the wall and plugs into a standard NEMA 14-50 220V outlet. We had an electrician install a standard 14-50 on its own breaker in the garage, and set off to install the WallBox ourselves – No problem – As easy as hanging any device on the wall with anchors or stud mounting and plugging in the included power cord – The other end of the device is the standard J1772 plug for the vehicle, which has an including "holster" that can also be wall mounted for organizational convenience and cable management. Once we were set up, the charger was pretty seamless to use. There is an app control, and it can be connected to Google Assistant (or Alexa if that's your platform) for status inquiry and charging starting/locking. This was a nice integration that we weren't expecting for our very Google-centric home. You can even get charging metrics such as electricity used and query Wallbox support using Google Assistant (or Alexa). Charging for us was simple – Plug and play – We did downrate the charger to the max amperage for the Jeep at 30A – Besides this we did very little setup. Plug and play. What more can you ask for? Now we can enjoy errand-level full charges every time we take off in the PHEV we own – This changes our electric usage footprint and can't wait to see the fuel savings and enjoy the all-electric experience more in our Jeep!GadgetGuy1981
***TLDR:*** This is a compact smart charger with a long cable, suitable for moderate environments, with sometimes buggy wireless connectivity. ***STANDOUT FEATURES:*** 1.) Outdoor Rating 2.) Compact size 3.) Adjustable output 4.) Long Charge Cable 5.) Lockable ***QUALITY:*** With a NEMA Type 4 rated enclosure, the charging box is ready to be mounted outside in a rain storm. The rubberized grip is a delight to hold. The charge cable is about average quality, with a medium amount of flex to it. It isn't ideal for outdoor use in frozen climates, as it becames very stiff and crackles when cold. I'd say this is best with a temperate climate for outdoor parking – or use with a garage in higher latitudes. ***INSTALLATION:*** Installation is quick and easy, provided your 240V plug is oriented with ground pin closer to the floor. If not, you'll have to mount your Pulsar Plus _very_ close to the plug (with the cable bent in a short U), as the cable between the "wall box" and the plug is only about a foot long. It's actually ridiculous to have the longest charge cable in the industry but a stupidly short plug-in cable. That being said, the box's size and weight make mounting simple – it's attachment plate can be hung to a single stud with only 2 screws. The charge-connector has a separate holster (remote from the main unit), so you can mount it wherever you like also using 2 screws. -Pro Tip: put blue tape on the holster to cover the holes, poke them out with a marker, then place that tape on your mounting location. This will help with pre-drilling. ***SMART FEATURES:*** This thing has more smart capabilities than I will ever use. Things which help with variable rate power metering (for off-peak charging and connecting two wall boxes to a single breaker), adjustable current, scheduled charging, charge notifications, etc. These units can actually actually talk to each other – if two cars of equal draw are charging, both get 20A. If one draws 16, the other can take 24. If one is done, the other can take 40. No fuss, no muss. The Wallbox integrates with Google Home and Amazon Alexa as well, allowing you to quickly and easily check charge status or change settings – like starting charging early. For outside charging, you can even command the charger to lock (to keep others from stealing your electricity). Charger status can be quickly determined via an LED ring on the box itself. This can be switched off when using the latest app updates. ***APP:*** All smart settings are accessible through the "Wallbox" App, which for now is a craps shoot. Many people have reported connectivity issues using Google Play and the App Store. I personally didn't have issues connecting, but I followed another user's advice and set it to connect to my 2.4GHz Wifi band, with the box facing my router. I'm also on an expensive phone – the S21 Ultra. ***CHARGE PERFORMANCE:*** My ID.4 Charged up at about 33 miles per hour, which is good. Be sure to have the latest firmware installed to get the most accurate stats, as an older firmware has been reported to give inaccurate charge data. ***CONCLUSION:*** The compact size, long cord length, and simple installation make this appealing. The possibility to face connectivity issues is concerning, however. If you get it from Best Buy – especially with Total Tech – you won't have anything to worry about.

I just tried it once. Its working okvitalialeksee-0
I had this Lefanev Level 2 charger for 15 months. Worked fine until it didn’t. The frustrating part was trying to get in touch with someone at Lefanev. After several tries over several days, I finally got a return email. Sent photos, explained everything and was finally given the answer that perhaps a wire broke inside the unit, but since it was out of warranty there was nothing they could/would do – except, they suggested, I could buy a new one. So, three months over warranty, I had to purchase a new Level 2 charger. The company was very cavalier about my problem with an oh well attitude. I know things break, but their lack of customer service and assistance was a surprise and disappointment. Because I need a charger, I bought a new one, this time with a THREE year warranty.Alexis Bilitch

I am so happy with my Lectron EV charger. I did extensive research before purchasing and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a plug in charger. I live in an apartment that fortunately has a 240V outlet next to my parking spot. I wanted a reasonably priced charger without a lot of bells and whistles that would quickly and reliably charge my EV in two hours and I found it in the Lectron!Scout
New to EV world and wanted a faster charger to live at home. The price was good and my EV tops out at 30amps so it was the perfect size. Works great and the quality of the product feels good. Did have an issue with the wiring of the house but at first thought it was the charger. Customer service was responsive and helpful. Overall a good experience.Jerry in TX
Your reviews keep to your product as a charger. It is NOT a charger it is a power source for the charger in your car! Companies tell you their product is a charger when it is a power source for your internal car's charger and sell for $500 or more. Buyer beware.SBN619

Reviews:
Too much whining and sissy enviro-sniveling for me. WWaaahhh, they took my goofy electric car away. Hey, it was a lease, wasn't your car anyway. I'll drive an electric car when Al Gore flies around the warming-globe in an electric jet and takes an electric limo to his big-buck speeches. ever wonder where that electricity comes from that charges up your e-car? It comes from "polluting electricty-producing plants" !! so you are just shifting the blame to someone else to make yourself feel good. Progress has a price, the future will hold the answers, but the ev1 ain't it. Narrated by Martin Sheen,so you know the view is slanted. The crying and hugging do add a good comedy angle to an otherwise wimpy view of modern day America-not for anyone with a normal testosterone level. And based on the current sales of government subsidized goofy electric vehicles, this dopey rig met an appropriate demise. Only for the most feeble, unwashed, tree hugging, herd-minded fools who are too high on patchouli incense and their own body odor to think for themselves.grave-yard-shift
This movie is an examination of how GM purchased, then killed, a very viable totally electric car model. It is fairly balanced in its views, although does show a small bias towards the ecological benefits of the vehicle, and, while the technology is not perfect, a mass-produced vehicle like this would go a LONG way towards improving the environment and cutting the dependence of the US on crude oil. I found it annoying for several reasons. 1) It was such a blatent corporate move to eliminate new technology that would cut down on the profits from existing and old technologies that GM had so much invested in. 2) It highlights, again, the shortsightedness of American business and investors. The investors expect continual growth every quarter, which forces the companies to take actions that will be detrimental to them in the long run, but, in the short run, produce those quarterly profits. 3) It rubs the viewer's nose in the fact that, thanks to these poor business decisions, we, the consumers, have had an excellent alternative choice for transportation taken away from us. In these days of fuel prices hovering around $3.50/gallon, a totally electric car is VERY attractive. 4) There are a few subjective opinions expressed in the movie against some forms of power generation (specifically, the nuclear option) that leap out as unfortunate prejudice. On the positive side, this is a well made, and interesting movie that raises many topics for debate, and, should be watched and thought about by a LOT more Americans than have seen it. I did enjoy the movie quite a bit, even if it did make me want to throw a brick through the screen a few times. Dave Mundtxmundt
So after many years, I wanted to see "Who Killed The Electric Car" again, so I bought a copy. I watched it again tonight and it is really an eye opener. In 2003 most of the EV1s had already been crushed in secrecy out in the AZ desert but the last 78 units were in a lot locked behind a chain link fence at the GM facility in Burbank, CA. The coalition of protesters, known as the EV1 vigilers, spent weeks staked outside the gate 24-7, some days in the pouring rain, making sure that GM couldn't sneak the cars out in the night to be crushed. GM contended that no one wanted these cars which of course, was baloney. On day 15, the coalition set out to call them on it. In 48 hours time they signed up 80 people willing to put up $24,358 each to buy the remaining 78 cars for the residual price of the lease. In this last ditch effort, they publicly made GM an offer to buy the cars. They got a check together for 1.9 million dollars and announced the offer. GM wouldn't even acknowledge them. The vigil lasted for 27 days until finally GM sent a bunch of cops and a convoy of empty auto transporters to scoop up all of the remaining EV1s and quickly take them away to be destroyed. What they didn't realize at the time was that all other manufacturers of electric vehicles were crushing their carstoo. Ford was crushing their Think City and Ranger EVs. Honda was quietly crushing perfectly good EV Plus cars and Toyota their RAV4 EVs. Soon all EVs were gone, just like that. Chelsea Sexton makes a great point in the documentary about legacy automakers and the problems posed for them in trying to sell EVs as part of their lineup: "In order to market a clean car, you have to suggest that your core product cars [that use oil and gas] are dirty." In March 2009, however, outgoing CEO of GM Rick Wagoner said the biggest mistake he ever made as chief executive was killing the EV1 car and failing to direct more resources to electrics.blownb310

Reviews:
super cool police ride on car. big enough for 3 yrs,he loves it, a lot . The police car has a remote control, which can also be driven by children. It is also equipped with a walkie-talkie, which is so interesting. And the doors on both sides can be opened, which is really cool Not only sirens, but also very nice music. The only drawback seems to be that the battery is not very good. The manual says that it needs to be charged for 8-12 hours, I did,but it only runs for about 10 minutes before it runs out of power. Hope the battery can be improved。
Me and my husband are both cops and we were both impressed with this police car. There is nothing about it that seems cheap and it’s very realistic. The lights and sirens are great, the in car police radio works, I was not expecting it to work when I pushed the button and spoke into the mic but it amplified my voice on the exterior of the car. The dashboard looks realistic and lights up, not the gps, it’s just a sticker. It has a music mode so it’s like your listening to the radio. The battery has lasted a long time on the first charge and the remote works great. It works well on both concrete and off road, it drove over small branches in the yard no problem. It’s just the coolest little car. My two year old is obsessed, even my 6 month old can ride around in it when I use remote I would say it fits two very small toddlers but it’s not roomy with two kids.
Over all my 2 year old enjoys it. The assembly was easy ( watch YouTube video). The back tail light doesn’t work, I don’t want to have to pay for returning it and getting a new one. The remote is very useful But it can be difficult to maneuver. For example the car can sometimes get stuck and won’t move. You’d have to try and play around with it to get it connected again. I was also expecting the Wheels to be a big bigger. My grass is a bit bumpy and it does drive over it but you can hear the struggle of the car. I would over all give a 3.5 stars

17. Why Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles Are The Best Type Of Vehicles, Why Natural Gas Vehicles Do Not Warrant The Cost, Why Electric Cars Do Not Warrant The Cost, And The Ample Problems With Buying An Electric Vehicle [Book]

Product Details:
Succinctly stated, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are the utmost best type of vehicles since they can operate off electric power or gasoline, unlike other types of vehicles. "the reason that hybrid vehicles are more efficient than conventional gasoline-only vehicles is because they have the ability to 'reclaim' energy that was once wasted, for example, the energy used when braking" ("plug in hybrid," 2012). regenerative braking for instance allows plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to partially recharge their battery pack. regenerative braking can be exhibited enroute and helps prolong the vehicle's driving duration before the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle becomes rendered inoperable. in stark contrast to a typical hybrid vehicle, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has the highly pragmatic ability to be recharged "by connecting it to a wall outlet in your home or elsewhere" ("plug in hybrid," 2012). it is far more affordable it is to operate a car off of wattage as opposed to gasoline. in order for a hybrid vehicle to become a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, an auto mechanic will need to "add extra batteries into the vehicle in order to improve the hybrid's electrical holding capacity and will also need to add a 'jack' "("plug in hybrid," 2012) so that it can connect "to the power grid" ("plug in hybrid," 2012). even though converting a hybrid vehicle into a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle can be very costly, it is an expenditure worth paying if you profusely utilize your vehicle. plug-in hybrid electric vehicles offer a host of benefits to vehicle owners. "the extra battery capacity of the plug-in hybrid is the key to reaping the benefits of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle configuration. on a conventional hybrid car, that kind of extra capacity is out of reach since the hybrid vehicle never fully charges except on long freeway trips. by adding the plug in jack with the extra battery, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has the ability to use its extra capacity by running on all-electric mode for an extended range of 30 miles or more. that means that instead of depleting expense gasoline, the car uses electrical energy which is much cheaper. since most trips are less than 30 miles, that means the vehicle can operate in-town without ever using a drop of gasoline" ("plug in hybrid," 2012). plug-in hybrid electric vehicles discharge minimal tailpipe emissions relative to conventional gasoline powered vehicles. this means that they help reduce mankind's carbon footprint and decelerate the rate of climate change due to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere. furthermore, by owning a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle you are less dependent on needing gasoline to fuel your vehicle than most vehicle owners. fortunately, a plug-in hybrid vehicles can operate off of electricity.
