Before i started using this i never had a problem with acne or having consistent pimples. I bought this, used it, and I'll admit, my skin felt so clean after each, use but over time the super intense grit of the exfoliant TORE up my skin. It was like i was getting open wounds from it because it was so gritty and sharp. After months of wondering why i started breaking out so bad i realized that this was just cutting up my face and the bacteria getting trapped in my skin turned into horrible cystic acne. To activate the powder, you add it to wet hands and rub your hands together, creating a paste. The paste is then massaged in circular motions over a freshly cleansed face. Lately my skin has been a mess. I've been doing a pretty good job at taking care of it- MUCH better than I ever have in fact, but for some reason it just doesn't want to cooperate. I just love so many of the Aveeno brand products to be honest….but, Their skincare line is definitely where I spent the majority of the money i spend overall on this popular brand. One can never truly go wrong when choosing to add Aveeno to their skincare routine! And thats the truth! While i have used multiple products from their skincare line , I tend to prefer the 'Positively Radiant' line. I love the results I get when using the daily scrub and the moisturizer together in my skincare routine every day. The scrub itself is so gentle on the skin yet it effectively rejuvenates my appearance to perfection each n every time I use it. I can see the positive results when i use this cleansing scrub about 2 days out of the week as my exfoliator. I am always feeling much more confident on the days when ive exfoliated using the Positively Radiant scrub because i can literally see the brand new and bright skin on my face and neck area once i complete my morning skincare routine on these couple days out of every week that i incorporate this must-have product in said routine. Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub is a gentle daily exfoliating product with a pleasant, fresh scent. It provides very light exfoliation that achieves optimal effect with daily use. The product instructions recommend using once or twice a day. The first time I tried this product, I was a bit surprised at how light the exfoliation effect was. With a word like "scrub" in the product name, I expected something with a little more exfoliation power. This is not a product one uses to notice an immediate difference in skin texture (as is typical with other products described as "scrubs"). This product does not have the abrasiveness of other scrub products. I used it for several days in a row and only noticed a marginal difference in my skin. I believe that continued use over several weeks would be required to see the full results of this product. I believe this product would be best for people with sensitive skin or who otherwise only desire light exfoliation. I personally prefer to use a more abrasive scrub once or twice a week as opposed to a product such as this one. I do believe the use of the word "scrub" in the name of this product is a bit misleading, as it does not have the abrasiveness of other products that use this word. So be aware that if you are looking for the more intense exfoliation typically associated with products described as scrubs, this product will not provide that. I would just like to state that I'm not the demographic these products are marketed to. I'm a 30 year old mom with kids and PCOS trouble skin. I also did not purchase these products because I am a crazed fan of 'Eleven'. I purchased these products because of ingredients, price, packaging, and rave reviews. This scrub is so awesome. It's the first cucumber scent (natural) that I've ever liked for starters. Smells really good. The scrub is also really effective. My skin felt sooo good after. No irritation, no itchiness at all. A little product goes a long way. I honestly can say that, so far, the products I have purchased are above the level of the high end scrubs I have purchased previously (Tatcha, DE, belief, Amore pacific etc.) I am really looking forward to getting the rest of the line when they come back in stock. Clinique were one of the first companies to make a line geared at men. One of Cliniques strengths is that for the main part they have remained fragrance free which is quite an achievement in the industry. It is a popular line and not without good reason but seems very pedestrian in many ways with boring formulas and packaging with large type face in case a man doesnt know his face wash from his face scrub. Back in the nineties when I used it, it seemed exciting and they released a Turnaround Lotion which was very effective. Then, you also had a series of creams from the womens line which you could use like Moisture On Call, Moisture On Line and Comfort On Call. All excellent creams. Now the mens line originally called Skin Supplies For Men is a pale version of the womens line. Its pretty unisex and men tend to use products from the womens line anyway. Now it seems that the mens line is as boring as the packaging. The pros of the line is that they are simple and fragrance free. But you might find yourself look elsewhere for ones that do a little more for your skin. The threestep system in the mens line is similar to the womens, but the Exfoliating Tonics which are similar to the Clarifying Lotions in the womens line, contain more SD alcohol so I would tread carefully there. The Face Scrub is much grittier than I remember it from memory and unlike the original one have Clinique tweaked it you dont have the option of leaving it on the skin for a minute or two like you used to. This scrub has the consistency of sand and is gritty and much less of a paste than it used to be. The packaging is wasteful as most of the product resides in half the tube. You can certainly feel it working and the skin is left very fresh after rinsing off. But I wouldnt recommend using this everyday as suggested. Its far too strong unless you have very oily skin in which case I would suggest you do not forgo the lotion afterwards. I used Clinique back in the early 90s when I was new to the whole serious skin care approach. Prior to this I had enjoyed vitamin E creams from the local health store which you sadly cannot find anymore So this was my first foray into department store brands and when I got past the price I liked the regime although it took me a while to get used to the M Lotion as it was then called because it was such a runny and seemingly ineffectual product. Sticking to the regime gave me good skin but I ran into trouble which I now see as simply being products that were too harsh for my skin. Namely the Scruffing Lotion now the skin tonics. Now I would recommend bypassing all the Clarifying Lotions and Tonics and going for the Mild Clarifying Lotion which is a BHA exfoliant and contains Salicilic Acid and is much gentler primarily because it does not contain SD Alcohol denatured alcohol. I wouldnt recommend using SD Alcohol on a daily basis. Oh no. Evidently a few of Cliniques products overstimulated my skin and I actually developed a cyst. The Face Scrub is in keeping with the aggressive approach that is still evident in some of Cliniques products. Its a good product but should be handled with care because after a couple of weeks of use twice a week it left my skin feeling a bit parched. Clinique is a good brand but choose carefully from their line. Keep their stronger items to a minimum. Pros fragrance free, simple, effective results fast. My husband loves to get down and dirty doing his manly and country style things. He loves to live up being a man and therefore thinks that skin care is so feminine that he doesnt wanna bother. I got a deluxe sized sample to see if its something hed consider trying because I have him a hint that it was FREE. he used it everyday by accident being the man he is and not really reading the directions. My skin is sensitive & acne-prone, slightly dehydrated, & I am super cautious about what I try in case it causes me break-outs or redness. This gentle microfoliant is absolutely beautiful for a 1-2 weekly second cleanse in the PM, or AM cleanse. It comes in a bottle, & you twist off the cap & pour out a tiny bit from the straw-sized hole. I find it easiest to use in the shower, wet your face & hands, pour powder onto hand & apply directly to face where it will quickly dissolve into a gentle micropolishing paste. I was kind of excited to receive this thinking it's gotta be good. It's for sensitive skin. There is no heavy scent which is great. It has a faint scent, does remind me of the ocean, refreshing. Very use to use. Wet face, squirt little on hands, rub hands together then scrub face. Don't need to use alot. You can feel the tiny granules, makes it feel they are doing something but not to me. Easily washes face, rinses off easily unlike other scrubs w larger granules. Face feels a little dry after using. I wouldnt recommend because I know it costs alot and it's not cruelty free.kelly.s

I would like to first say that I love La Roche Posay products. Their products have helped my sensitive skin tremendously. However, this scrub is disappointing in the size sold. The amount charged is quite a lot for only 1.69 oz. I find this unacceptable. If this review is read by La Roche Posay product management, I would like to suggest increasing the size to 4 oz for the amount charged. Each product I have used has been appropriately priced for the size, except this scrub. It works well and is gentle and comforting to my sensitive skin. This is not the same exfoliate I’ve been using for years. I guess they changed their product. It use to have a great texture, smell great and have a white formula with pink exfoliate beads. Now it’s like they have mixed their apricot facial scrub with pink colouring. It does not smell good at all. Not even close to previously – it smells like chemicals. Make sure you open and smell BEFORE you purchase. I will not be using it anymore which is a shame as it was my favourite for a long time. I have been trying to find a face wash that works really well for deep cleaning. I don’t have a problem with acne or getting pimples on my face, my skin type is combination, but my face is always really red. I have a bad habit of not washing my makeup off at night… which I know is terrible but it’s something I’m trying to get better at. Even on the nights that I do use a makeup removing wipe, I still don’t feel like my face is clean so I thought that an exfoliating cleanser would do the job. I saw this at Walgreens and I think it was on sale for a couple bucks less so I picked it up. It smells pretty good, but that’s really all I like. It’s really rough on the face… I mean I know it’s exfoliating so it’s not going to be smooth, but it kinda hurts to apply. If you get it anywhere near your eyes, when you rinse it off it will more than likely get in your eyes. This happened to me more than once and that entire day I couldn’t apply makeup because I felt like I had something in my eyes all day and I’m pretty sure I scratched my eyes with it… my eyes were watering like crazy. Obviously I know not to make that mistake now but it could happen to anyone. When you rinse it off it initially feels really soft but when you dry your face off with a towel your skin gets very very dry. Mine actually turned bright red from the over exfoliation and if you miss a spot when you are rinsing it off, it sticks to you and you look like you have a white crust on your face. Once it’s stuck on your dry face it’s not easy to wipe off either. I have since started using regular non exfoliating face wash but I use exfoliating gloves with that and it works a lot better.lana.r

I have extremely dry, sensitive and reactive skin that I have tried to help with retinols and chemical exfoliants that didn't help or just made my dryness worse and caused hives. Well using this with my new less pricey finds, the ordinary squalene and cerave moisturizer has been the best routine I've had since I was in my early 20s, I'm now 40. I’ve had this product for a year now and I use it here and there for facial exfoliation, but have never really noticed too much of a difference, I’ve not been really wowed, until recently. I recently had a sunburn and it’s completely healed up but I’ve had some stubborn dry skin on my chest that I just could not get to go away. Finally, as like a last ditch “what the heck” option, I decided to try this product and see if it would help, and just wow. I use this every day. I know you aren't supposed to use a physical exfoliation product ever day but my job deals with automotive lubricants and to put it bluntly my face gets nasty. I've used it for years with the frequency being 2 to 3 times a weak in less dirty jobs. Why it's amazing: 1. Price for the quality product and results you get is phenomenal. 2. The physical exfoliator is ground walnut shell, it has a sand like consistency with no harsh edges or digging into your skin as other facial scrubs do. Super fine will leave a residue if taken off with a damp cloth. 3. Buffs away dead cells and opens up acne pores. 4. Smells nice but not strong. 5. Contains glycerin(hydrating), koaline(oil absorber), oat (redness reduction) and honey (germ fighting skin conditioner) as well as the cleaning agents. It contains dimethicone which some people don't like but for my oily skin definitely helps fight the grease ball factor. 6. Minimizes bumps, black heads, and helps fight oil build up. 7. Easy to use and can be used all over body for body acne. Simply dap out a dime sized amount and apply to wet face with palm of your hand go over while face in circular motions use the tips of your fingers to rub product into problem areas like beside the nose and under the lip. Then rinse with water til residue is all gone. I then add a deep cleaning skin cream to finish off my in shower routine. Wouldn't recommend for people with a nut or silicone allergy. I use the QUEEN HELENE scrub once a week /10 days after complete de-make-up and apply it in circular movements to moisturized skin, excluding the area around the eyes. Perfectly to use it on steamed skin at the shower, but this is not always the case. With this creamy texture Pomegranate and Raspberry Scrub spreads easily. I massage gently for one and a half or two minutes, without hard moving and pushing down. At this point, the scrub becomes whitish and tingles a little. Abrasive particles do their job, exfoliate and renew the skin, removing dead skin cells. Then I wash off everything with warm water and gently dab my face with a towel. After scrubbing, I apply my usual skin care stuff. Product consumption is minimal. This tube is enough for the face, neck and décolleté. The volume will be enough for 6 months for sure. Result: The scrub delicately polished the skin without damaging it at all. Eliminated the existing small peeling. Feels like skin became smooth, soft. Skin tone is noticeably improved, becoming more even. There is no irritation or redness after the scrub. I really like that the scrub does not dry out the skin. It has a large volume and an affordable price. Of the minuses, I note: The scrub does not tighten the enlarged pores on the wings of the nose. well, I do not have blackheads, so I have no idea how the scrub works with them. Cetaphil prides itself in ultra sensitive skin care and I love many of their products. This is not a winner in my book. There's no need for fragrance or masking fragrance. Masking fragrance is to cover a not so pleasant smell and this doesn't do the job. The smell is nauseating. I get an instant headache and it irritates my skin. Do yourself a favor and reformulate like you did for so many of your products. There is a need for a gentle exfoliator without fragrance, SLS and chemicals. Very disappointed in cetaphil for added this unnecessary ingredient.Dee

im actually really happy with this, im allergic to a lot! willow meaning witch hazel, salicylic acid, biotin, cocoa butter, harsh scents, just to name a few..i dont get hives from using this face wash, and i love the very light fresh quality powder scent it has. its not overwhelming for my sensitivities or migraines, and it doesnt smell like cheap baby powder if you're wondering. its more of a light fresh scent that isnt overpowering in the least for me, and to me, this smell says clean face, and not "im trying to cover an odor" smell, if i had to explain it thoroughly lol. its a clear gel consistency with just a breath of grittiness thats very gentle on my skin. NOTHING like those apricot washes with the walnut grounds in them, which dont even belong anywhere near the face! and gave me abrasions and hives. this cetaphil face gel(extra gentle daily scrub) has become a permanent fixture in my shower and will be for years to come. if you're looking for a heavy duty scrub then this isnt for you, but you wont be dissapointed in how clean your face gets. you just cant feel the grits and arent suppose to! but yes, thank you for being the first face wash in years to not give me hives<3Sprinkles

I know that it's a little late in life for me (I'm 35), but recently I've just really started making an effort to take much better care of my skin. I have oily/combination sensitive skin and have been exploring all kinds of facial cleansers, masks and lotions. I have been using this silky smooth exfoliate for a few weeks now. It has proven to be efficient at removing the dirt without interfering with my skin barrier. I received this Aveeno Calm & restore nourishing PHA facial Exfoliator to try and review. I am so glad I did! The product has no scent, which is very nice since I am sensitive to smells. The product is light weight & is not greasy. It goes onto my skin smoothly & does not have that "sandy" feeling like other exfoliators do where they feel like you are scrubbing your face with sandpaper. This product feels like you are applying a very light weight lotion to your face, VERY nice & calming! I was looking for a face wash that was more natural and less perfumey, and read some good things about Bull Dog. Nice combination of a masculine but more subtle scent while still being effective. The scrub material is abrasive in just the right way, and the scent is pleasant without being way over the top like some 'manly' brands, but also is relaxing every morning almost aromatherapy-like. Been using for a couple weeks and my skin is noticably clearer with fewer breakouts, so can't complain. Two things could be improved: it could lather better (right now it feels more like sort of a moisturizer) and it could have more scrub material in it (it is a scrub, after all). I've tried many Men's face washes before, and tend to stick to Nivea Men's Face Wash, as that works for my face well. The only problem with their product is that it takes a little more effort to wash the suds off. The Bulldog Original Face Wash seemed promising. The first thing I took note of was the fragrance of it, which smelled GREAT! It wasn't overwhelming and reminds me of the fancy face washes from a 5 star hotel. I was displeased that the Directions didn't say how much of it to use, so I just went by my experience using other face washes and used less than a quarter-size in my palm. It lathers very well (even without using water to work up a lather), and washing it off took no extra effort. I catch whiffs of the fragrance and it is pleasant to my nose. I have been using this Khiels product for the last two months- and I have to say I really enjoy it! I like facial exfoliants but I don’t enjoy scrubs that scrub away too hard at your skin as I have quite sensitive skin. I find that this Khiels scrub is non irritating as the exfoliating particles in the scrub are very fine and do not hurt the skin. It leaves my skin not red and looking very glowy and radiant. I also noticed that the longer I used it the Moreno the texture of my skin was improving over time. This does a really great job of smoothing out my skin and I always find it to be very smooth and soft to the touch after using this scrub. I don’t particularly love the smell of the product as it has a slightly chemical scent- which is the main negative for me. I like the texture of the product it is a thick gel consistency with the exfoliating particles suspended in the gel. I find the texture means that the product goes quite a long way- you only need a small pea sized amount so the full 100ml will last ages if only used twice a week!Ruby

if i could give this 4.5 hearts, i would. but i'll settle for four because i think there's a few things this product can do better in. regardless, it's really great and i'm a big fan. couple good things: smells great, is affordable, actually works, is not harsh on your skin and really loves it smooth (not red and blotchy like those money grabbing other ones). you really need to use a gentle scrub because otherwise it's not doing the job right. love using it after a day of heavy makeup, paired with the facial cleanser. the only negative to it is that you need to use quite a bit of product. the bottles not that big so you can run out if you use it more than once a week. i'm on my second bottle, and learnt to be more frugal with it – but the first one finished in like 3 months. it doesn't spread well and i think that's the reason why you need to use quite a bit.NadJB

I received the “L’Oreal Paris Pure Sugar Scrub Smooth & Glow” for free for test and review from Topbox Circle. At first glance, you don’t think anything of this scrub but wow, it totally blew me away with what it can really do. I liked how it’s encased in this tiny but heavy, glass jar. When you open it, the consistency looks quite thick and sticky looking but isn't sticky at all. The smell is amazing, like dark chocolate coffee syrup and I just wanted to eat it(but I didn't)! The application is pretty easy and you don’t need a whole lot. Make sure not to get it too close to your eyes as there are little granules in this scrub that could irritate your eyes. Immediately after applying, you’ll notice this amazing, warming sensation that spreads all over your face. The blend of sugars, coffee, oils felt so luscious against the skin. Use gentle circular motions around your face since the instructions say to use it on dry skin. If you do use it on damp skin or wet skin, it's not as effective because the sugar crystals would have dissolved leaving only the coffee grounds behind as an exfoliant. I'm glad that the blend of sweet almond and coconut oils help it be less abrasive. Rinses well with water revealing baby soft skin. My skin felt cleaner and smoother in just one use. It was perfectly fine for my sensitive skin. I’ve used this scrub, three times now and I love it so much! I had really rough textured skin between my eyebrows and now it feels so much smoother. I’ve used Loreal’s Pure Clay Face Masks in the past but I never stopped to try their scrubs. I’m going to have to check out their line of scrubs to see what else I can try. I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I’ve been using this face lip scrub for a couple of weeks now, and I can honestly say that it’s a very interesting product. The first thing that hits you when you open this jar is the scent,… I mean, Holy Dark Roast, Batman!!! The coffee aroma is super strong and pungent, so if you’re not a fan of the smell of coffee, this isn’t for you… I personally enjoy the scent and found it to be a nice robust fragrance. This scrub also has a warming sensation as you apply it, so it’s ideal for a chilly winter morning wake-up call. As for the ingredients of the scrub itself, it’s mostly a mix of sugar and coffee grounds (don’t use a white washcloth to rinse this off, take it from me). The sugar granules were larger than I anticipated, which meant I had to be careful when massaging this scrub into my skin because it’s definitely on the rougher side of exfoliating products. After rinsing, my face looked radiant and smooth (albeit a little red LOL). I had the softest skin and felt ready to take on the day… However, I didn’t notice a real difference when using this scrub for my lips, so that was a tad disappointing… I think I’ll stick to using this for my face only. Overall, I enjoyed the scent and results of this scrub, but because it’s such an intense exfoliation I won’t find myself using it frequently… I also am disappointed that it’s advertised as a lip scrub as well, but didn’t actually prove to be effective for my lips. I dont drink coffee. But boy do I love the smell of it. And THIS SCRUB smells like fresh ground coffee! It really does. Its a pivk me up for sure. And the scrub itself is not too harsh and 100% leaves my skin better than before I used it. Its a little too liquidy when ypu use most of the scrub. You really gotta dig to the bottom to then pick up actually scrubbies. But its so worth it! The price is a little put of my comfort zone but I still have my first jar and still use it as a luxury sometimes!danielle.d

This scrub is excellent! Totally worth it and a little goes a long way ( yes the tube is small but you don’t need to use it too often). If your skin is like mine I’d recommend using it once every week or once every ten days. My skin is combination. Most of the acne products don’t work on my skin as they irritate it or make it dry which causes more breakouts. I’ve figured my combination skin leans towards dryness. So it’s always a struggle to find the right scrub that works. Most exfoliating and scrub masks make my skin too sensitive and give me breakouts. But this scrub is really great. Great product! When your face is in real need of more deep exfoliation- this scrub will deliver it! I use it right after steaming the face or taking long warm shower, allowing your face skin prep, getting more soft first, and opening the pores a bit. Manually apply a bit of product and gently scrub in circular motion avoiding delicate skin around the eyes. You will slough off all the dry dead skin. Do not be afraid of a bit rough /scratchy feeling .Once again, this product is made to mimic effect of microdermabrasion machine. After, it is a must to apply face serum or your favorite moisturizer. I really love this product. I've been using it for several months now. I do have combination skin, slightly oily, sensitive and sometimes patchy and dry. Even though this product does contain acid it doesn't cause me any irritation and it helps keep breakouts away. It also exfoliates well and leaves my skin soft and smooth. I use is around 4 times a week. It is more pricey that some of the other products available but I really feel it's worth paying abit more for this brand as it does work.Lily

I had a facial and this was used on my skin. It smelled and felt great but I couldn't be certain if it was the facial itself or the product that made me skin so happy. After my next facial, I picked this up hoping it would give me the same results on my own. The price is a bit higher than I would like to spend on something I'm not certain works for me over the long run – but so happy I got it. The exfoliant is fine and not something that is going to scratch or cause abrasions with daily use. The scent is very light but fresh and doesn't cause any irritation for my sensitive skin. sounds kind of weird but this product uses smashed wood pulp which is biodegradable obviously as the gentle manual exfoliant. I am not a fan of manual excellence for the most part because people tend to over script their skin which leads to loss plasticity and capillary issues as well as aggravating acne. That said this is gentle enough with a chemical exfoliant added as well that I really enjoy this product. The fragrance is amazing that in my clients buy it nonstop and love it. Good price point too.
