This is the first time I have used this fertilizer and I can't tell you how impressed I was. It took approximately 3 weeks to really fill in with a thick green lawn. Although I had a few dandelions come up, I eliminated them with a week killer. For the amount that you get, you can't beat the price as some other fertilizers. Nothing disagreeable about the smell, works well for encouraging healthy green growth. My experience is that it may indeed discourage deer. Can't swear it's true, but there are a lot of deer in my immediate area. They randomly eat whatever isn't fenced but don't seem to touch things that have Milorganite scattered around. I use light feedings more frequently. Would give 5 stars except for my concern for what household chemicals could have been dumped down drains. Maybe my thought is outdated but just the same, I don’t use it directly on my vegetable garden. Instead, I use it on the extended field/yard and use the cuttings for compost and mulch. Very good for my lawn. Don't like fertilizers with weed/pest killers. I'd rather run the narrow blade grasses, plural, that like sandy soil on CA. central coast. I don't try and run a just one grass monoculture. Too much work & water. Less nitrogen in this so you don't get a burst of green that quickly exhausts the soil nutrients. Best to immediately blow off walkways that get fertilized otherwise iron will stain, esp. concrete.GrBe

Pennington UltraGreen Weed & Feed kills weeds and fertilizes your grass at the same time. It has has a NPK of 30-0-4 so it releases nitrogen over two or three months. It was my first time fertilizing my lawn, and I was not disappointed. My grass looks better than last year. I followed the directions very carefully according to the bag and spread it with a hand spreader and did not have any problems. The only thing is I'm not sure if it's the product or just the rainy weather we had last winter and spring. I have also been watering my lawn a lot more. Nevertheless, my grass looks better, and I'm satisfied. I would recommend this product to those who are looking to improve the quality of their lawn. However, I have not tried other products like this, so I can't speak to how well it compares to other brands.
I had high expectations for the Pennington UltraGreen Weed and Feed to help me save my lawn from being overgrown by weeds. Sadly, this product does not work. I live in the hot climate of California's Central Valley, and my lawn struggles due to the heat, while pesky weeds are very resistant with their very deep root system. I applied this Weed and Feed product following the directions on the packaging. After one week of waiting and observing for any possible changes, there was still no sign of weeds starting to die or at least a hint of the weeds becoming weaker. It has now been about three weeks and there are still no changes, except that my grass has started to die off and leave unsightly brown areas all over my yard, while the weeds are happy and still thriving. This product did not even kill dandelion nor clover. I would definitely not recommend this product and won't be purchasing it again!
Pennington UltraGreen Weed and Feed is a great product if you have weeds that are being difficult and you want healthy grass. When I first received it I applied it to the yard and thoroughly watered it after. I used my handheld spreader and had no issues. After a week or so I saw great results already! My grass is greener, fuller, and overall much healthier than before. Ive never used a fertilizer before and I must say we have the nicest grass on the block now. Areas that where stubborn to grow and slightly bare are starting to fill in now since Ive applied the Pennington UltraGreen Weed and Feed. Weeds that drove me crazy have begun to disappear, Im going to re apply again and Im sure that that the leftover weeds that thought they where going to survive….will not!! I can't wait to see our grass healthier, weed free, fuller, and nicer because of this great product.

I got so tired of all the lawn services we would hire with poor to average results. If everyone in your neighborhood uses a service UltraFeed 3X will blow them away. All my neighbors ask what service I use now and I love saying I now do it myself as the services would leave and I could not find any solid fertilizer in yard when they were suppose to have fertelized. When year end aeriation and seed would go down I neve once had a bear spot grow seed as they don't use enough material. Save the money, spend the time go with this stuff. I did not tell my neighbors what I am using, they all have lawn services and wonder what's the trick "Scotts". I received this product as a bonus for purchasing Green Max. After placing Green Max in March, I applied Ultrafeed in June to carry the grass until March 2023 when Bonus S will start taking over with the annual plan. I attached a photo of June, August, and September results. I am floored with how beautiful and lush the grass is. In the pursuit of a greener, lusher lawn, I was recently lucky enough to be able to try this product. I am very pleased with the results. I wanted for a spell of rain to be forecast before spreading the fertilizer, as I prefer to do so using the spreader when the ground is dry. A healthy dousing of rain waters it in nicely. Within days, the newly mown grass had already shot up an inch or so, and it looked much greener and healthier than it had before. The true test will come during the remaining summer months which are usually very dry, hot and humid. At times, the grass looks very sorry for itself, but hopefully this product will live up to its promises and help the grass to survive better than before. I had heard of Pennington products before but this is the first time using the ultra-green fertilizer. So far, so good. I will be recommending it to others.
It really is ridiculous how little my family knows about gardening or lawn care. Our collective thumbs are so far from green they are grey. That is why I am SO impressed with this fertilizer! Last year I challenged my neighbor to a yard war where we compete for the most beautiful front and back area. I threw down the challenge and immediately purchased a bargain brand of fertilizer. I lost spectacularly and must now walk the neighborhood shirtless when it rains (A silly bet). This year I went with the big guns and got this quality fert. I have new sod and wanted to bring a sodded area with the new staff on a 750 square ft area and followed directions with rotary spreader setting and watering in 2 times 40 min. The grass is Kentucky Blue. I am not new at this. I have been taking care of my lawn for over 14 years. Followed the instruction exactly, did not deviate, did not over use and applied as recommended. After 3 days later I have no lawn. Pennington Fertilizer totally burn my beautiful new lawn!!!! Please do not use this ! Very poor customer service and Pennington not responsible for this product!!! This is a great product and I always start off Spring spreading weed and feed fertilizer for my lawn. I always have good luck using this product. Eliminate the weeds and add fertilizer for optimal growth. It very easy to spread using my speed spreader. I wouldn't blame this product for the lack of progress it made on the lawn since dandelion are the hardest to get rid of. Since I bought my house no matter how frequent I mow the lawn they always return. I was having high hopes but all this product did was wilt them a little that day and then sprung back the next day. It was suppose to be a weed killer plus grass feeder but somehow it kill some places and made dead brown patches in my lawn. I am loving my experience with Scott’s Turf Builder Triple Action. As a busy mother, wife and learning Coach o am always on the lookout for products that pull double or even triple duty, and Turf Builder Triple Action fits that bill and more. Scotts Triple Action is a great idea. Being able to apply 3 products simultaneously would be awesome, however, as with all "one size fits most" approaches, this product has some pros and cons. Pros: The fertilizer just simply works. The comparison between my lawn and my neighbors lawn is a badge of honor for me. Using Scotts products has gotten me better results than the company my neighbor pays to come treat his lawn. Scotts products all seem to spread really well. Using my broadcast spreader, it was really easy to get uniform and complete coverage with this product. Much of the granules are yellow, so its fairly easy to see where you've been. Cons: The weed killer seems nearly ineffective. The product says to apply to a wet lawn and to wait a day before watering in. I was watching the weather, and applied this Triple Action in the morning after some overnight rain showers. The forecast did not call for rain in the following 24 hours, however, there was some pretty heavy mist that developed the afternoon after I applied this to my lawn. It wasn't raining, and the radar from the weather was clear, but there was enough moisture to visibly wet my driveway. All this to say, it may have been user error for the weed killer not being very effective, but mother nature will always throw curveballs and I feel like to get the most weed control out of this product, you may just have to be able to control the weather. All in all, Scotts Triple Action seems like it would be a home run under ideal circumstances. My three star rating is due to one of the three claims of the product simply not working. My review may need to be updated in a couple of months based on how effective this product is on crabgrass, but for now, I think this product is "okay".Theron
I've used Scotts in the past. Usually with good results. However, I've only ever used their Halt's (fertilizer with pre-emergent). The problem was that I also wanted to control the weeks. So…I thought that this Triple Action might do the trick. I put it down one morning after it had rained the night before…grass and weeds were a bit wet. We didn't have any more rain for about 36 hours…so I timed it correctly according to the bag. Used a Scotts spreader…dialed the correct setting…I think it was 4.5. I also realized that this product only covers 4,000 square feet versus the 5,000 square feet for the Halts. Bought two bags. It's been over two weeks, and the weeds are still growing and spreading…hasn't killed them at all. The weeds should have been yellowing and/or dying by now. Even the grass hasn't really greened up and shown any thickening. I've used a brand in the past by my local Do-it-Best Hardware store…same exact chemical percentages as Scott's regular Turf Builder (I turned both brands over…exact same percentages) and at half the price. I won't use this Scotts Triple Action again…and would recommend against anyone using it. I'm in the Dayton, Ohio area, and we've had fairly warm weather so far this year…so temps aren't the problem. We had a very dry summer last year, and the crabgrass took over…had to pull it out by hand in the fall…left lots of bare spots. I didn't expect the Triple Action to fill those in immediately by thickening the grass…but it isn't affecting the weeds at all…including the dandelions.VeryDave

I reseeded my lawn by the book last fall (Oct 17) using a slit seeder and Titan Tall fescue seed. By March/April my grass was amazing, the best in the neighborhood. Thick green and lush! I applied Preen One in March ( I am in Charlotte NC) to take advantage of its pre-emergent as well as existing weed control. The few weeds that I had were gone within a couple of weeks and the grass looked great. I had to mow it twice a week. Then 8 wks later I applied Preen one again, as recommended, and as directed. Within two weeks large patches of my grass were turning brown. Now it looks terrible. We have had plenty of rain, and I cannot fathom any other reason for the dead grass. I am glad that I found this Preen one weed killer. I have used many brands over the years, but this one seems to work the best. It kills over 250 different types of weeds, including crabgrass which most weed killers do not take care of the crabgrass. This one does! It is very easy to apply, and covers a pretty large area. I was able to do my whole backyard and so far so good, no weeds have come up since I used it. I would recommend to others, and have done so. I love this product. Preen One has kept my lawn looking really green and free of dandelions. You can depend on it (if you follow directions) to keep lawn free from crabgrass. It takes care of it even if it germinates and starts growing. I just put it down a few days ago and waiting for the clover to die. I still have to spot treat in areas I didn't put it down due to it being too close to my vegetable garden. I will always use this product. Instructions said on the package to use 20-20-20 for best results. Could not find anything in granules like I wanted. So I went to Miracle Gro Shake n' Feed. Amazing results. The numbers are very different as far as what my plants needed but this container full of granules that are easily shaken around the plant did the trick. My plants had started to yellow and I knew they needed some nourishment. This product is wonderful. The plants have all greened up and putting on new growth. Shake n Feed is great for quick but lasting fertilization. No smelly sacks of manure. Clean and easy to spread around in gardens and vineyards. Flowers and veggies love this stuff. I wish we could get 40–50-pound economic sacks for a refill. Grass responds well also, but my flowers and veggies respond well too. Grape vines are hardy but they like a little power start in the spring. Feeding vines in early spring give them a jumpstart for sweeter grapes in late summer-early fall.Jon
About 2 weeks ago, I used this product on my house plants that I have had for over a year… I followed the instructions closely based on the size of each plant pot, watering as needed like usual and keeping the position/amount of sunlight the same as a sort of "control". After a few days, I didn't notice much change – but after a week my plants became limp and leaves started yellowing and falling off. The soil was damp so I didn't water, but a few days later small flies/bugs started showing up and the surface layer of soil on each pot was covered in white mold. After looking for solutions online, I removed about 1/3 to 1/2 of the top layer of soil from each to make sure there was no mold left. The plan was to add fresh soil to each pot, but upon repotting I noticed that the stems of each plant were rotting and there was even root rot on a few. I ended up not being able to salvage any of my houseplants. Considering this was the first time using this product, and nothing else about my plant care routine had changed, I believe that this is what killed my plants. I would not recommend it. If your plants are doing well, leave them be.kdm137

Easy to mix, though the directions on the bottles may be a very tiny font and difficult to read for some, but still quite easy. Seems to give the correct nutrients to get the best results from your plants and your crops. 2 different nutrient mixes, one for vegetation during growth stages, and then one specifically for budding and blooming, along with a "Co-Nutrient" to boost the overall performance. In the pursuit of a greener, lusher lawn, I was recently lucky enough to be able to try this product. I am very pleased with the results. I wanted for a spell of rain to be forecast before spreading the fertilizer, as I prefer to do so using the spreader when the ground is dry. A healthy dousing of rain waters it in nicely. Within days, the newly mown grass had already shot up an inch or so, and it looked much greener and healthier than it had before. The true test will come during the remaining summer months which are usually very dry, hot and humid. At times, the grass looks very sorry for itself, but hopefully this product will live up to its promises and help the grass to survive better than before. I had heard of Pennington products before but this is the first time using the ultra-green fertilizer. So far, so good. I will be recommending it to others.
It really is ridiculous how little my family knows about gardening or lawn care. Our collective thumbs are so far from green they are grey. That is why I am SO impressed with this fertilizer! Last year I challenged my neighbor to a yard war where we compete for the most beautiful front and back area. I threw down the challenge and immediately purchased a bargain brand of fertilizer. I lost spectacularly and must now walk the neighborhood shirtless when it rains (A silly bet). This year I went with the big guns and got this quality fert. The difference is incredible and immediate. My yard looks great and I am no longer shirtless in the drizzle. I never knew brand really mattered. I am here to tell you it certainly does. Go for the Pennington people! It really works.
I have new sod and wanted to bring a sodded area with the new staff on a 750 square ft area and followed directions with rotary spreader setting and watering in 2 times 40 min. The grass is Kentucky Blue. I am not new at this. I have been taking care of my lawn for over 14 years. Followed the instruction exactly, did not deviate, did not over use and applied as recommended. After 3 days later I have no lawn. Pennington Fertilizer totally burn my beautiful new lawn!!!! Please do not use this ! Very poor customer service and Pennington not responsible for this product!!! Buyers beware !!! Absolutely horrible !! This is unbelievable!!! I will never never use a Pennington product again!!!

If it weren't for this my poor flowers would be suffering without food since this is all they get. I know some gardeners use also immediate fertilizer but I cannot be outdoors for long periods of time so this is what has worked for me. I like that I can use this not only on my flowers but I have put this on my veggies with success. I will recommend this to friends.Ayeika
When I was in highschool my FFA teacher had us use a new fertilizer in the green house to see if it was any good. That was in 2001 and I've been using Osmocote ever since. It was the first of it's kind and I've noticed other fertilizers are starting to copy them. It grows huge lush plants, amazing fruits and vegetables and won't burn roots. I can sprinkle some on top and know that every time I water my plants are getting fed. When a vicious storm blew down my pear tree I poured an entire bottle into the pit under the tree where some roots were still in the dirt. It's been a year later and the tree not only survived, but it bloomed! I will always stay true to this brand.AmyAnn

This GreenView Fairway Formula Spring Fertilizer with Crabgrass Preventer works great. It is a good quality lawn fertilizer. It made the lawn greener and thicker. My yard needed help and I have been impressed with how much and how quickly this has helped it. I love that it has the crabgrass preventer in it, so I don’t have to use different products. I bought the springtime fertilizer last year and I thought it did very good. Enough so that I bought the fall application as well! This year I am on the annual subscription plan. Why go to a retail store to get it when you can have it shipped free and delivered to your front door? I put this year’s spring fertilizer down early morning on April 25th in perfect windless weather and a heavy dew. It was down for 48 hours before it rained. The clover is magically disappearing, the dandelions are wilting and curling up! It’s already made an impact on the creeping Charlie and heaven knows what other weeds I have…even more impressed this year than last!!!CDOG1956
I got a bag of green view fertilizer, mainly because it was what was available and affordable. Let me tell you they exceeded my expectations. I used it this spring for a small area close to the house that I was putting Clover seed in as a place to keep some of our sheep in while the bigger fields grew. This field grew thicker and better than any other place on the property. We will definitely use this fertilizer on other places around the farm after seeing these results.Showell

Stay away at all cost. A single pump of this product make your apt/house smell like dead road kill. Next, within days, every plant you have used this product on will yellow, shrivel and then die.
