I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. This is the first, and probably only, flat iron I would recommend to anyone asking for it.Katie
I used this flat iron about once a week and loved it. The temperature heats very quickly but the downside is that it shuts off after 30 minutes. I have really long thick hair and it takes me about one hour to straighten all of it. So it’s a bit of an inconvenience shutting off after 30 minutes. I was really disappointed that after having it for only a few months, it began malfunctioning, saying “error” on the display and turning off every 10 minutes.
I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. It came in a really nice heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic flap, I’m sure most will throw it away but if you’re like me keep the boxes to repurpose or so your tools are more protected during travel this is a good box that won’t be crushed or damaged easily.krystal .d

Best I have ever used, after several Ion flat irons. I thought each of them was best when purchased. I bought this to have as backup for when my current Ion was out of commission. I liked it so well, I relegated my current iron to backup and now use this one exclusively. First and primary improvement is that the temp control is located on the inside portion of the iron. On the older one, it was easy to accidentally hit the "off" button (located on the outside of the barrel), cooling the iron. Then had to heat it up again. This Ion heats up quickly and does the job beautifully. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. Don’t waste your time and money on this product. I bought it because it was on sale for Black Friday and I was due for a new straightener. However, this straightener struggled to heat up. I tried to restart my outlet and everything then it worked ONLY ONCE. It never heated up after and started showing “Error” on the small screen. I have been using this flat iron consistently over the last couple of weeks, and here are my thoughts and views on the product, itself, and how it performs. My hair is rather thick and naturally wavy and it rarely ever just does what I want it to do. It requires high heat and styling tools and products if I am trying to achieve a sleek and straight look. With this flat iron alone, I have not been able to achieve that look. I feel that 410 degrees is just not a heat may possibly not be high enough heat for the texture of my hair. I also had a hard time reading the digital temperature setting. I think it would help to have a backlight with this setting. Upon receiving this product, I noticed it had a very new smell… that of a product which was brand new and had never been used. The flat iron smells somewhat like burnt plastic when it is first turned on and I did smell it several times after the first use. I don't smell it anymore though and it wasn't that bothersome to me. I just associated that smell with it being brand new and recently manufactured. In all fairness, I think that this is a pretty good product when compared to others in the same pricing bracket. It's a good value for the price. I have been a long time user of Remington styling tools and have had favorable experiences with all of those which I have ever owned and used. Straight from the box, this straightener has a soft high-quality feel and sleek look. It’s really nice to hold due to whatever material it’s made out of. I have small hands and i think it is the perfect size. Better yet it is coated in such a soft rubbery type material on the surface which makes it easy to grip and less likely to slip. At first I was confused where the digital display would be (before I turned it on) but once I did and saw it light up in the pretty rose gold part at the bottom I was very excited. How many times have I accidentally turned the power off or the heat up or down? Too many! This totally solves that issue because you can accidentally push a button on the inside. This was the first flat iron I ever got. Thank God I have upgraded to a better one. I couldn't stand dealing with this one. Then again my hair is super curly. I am mixed (black and white) so I have very thick long curly hair. I'm not sure how this straightener would've worked on a different hair type, but I know that I eventually resorted to just using it to straighten my bangs. Effectiveness It worked OKAY. I usually had to straighten the smallest sections of hair in order to get it straightened properly. I also had to straighten over the same small pieces of hair a few times to get it straight. I have always used a curling iron even when the flat iron become the new thing. I already have straight hair but it lacks body and volume. The Conair Ultra Slim looked like a experimental flat iron since it's very affordable. I like the curve to the handle, this feature makes it easy to use and feels comfortable the whole time. I figure a slim flat iron would be a better fit for my hair, it's not thick, but it's not thin either. It took me so long to section off each part if my hair and go over it with this Ultra Slim Flat Iron! I used a flat iron spray to help with the hold, and after it was all said and done my hair looked straight but laid flat on my head. I've learned new techniques since purchasing this flat iron and see where this one can help with getting close enough to the roots to add volume. The settings go up to 25, so there's a range of heat to use, it also heats up fast in under a minute. The straightener it's OK if you already have straight or slightly wavy hair because it doesn't really change your hair that much. I've been using the straightener for about a year now and currently shopping for a new one because I'm just not satisfied I feel like I straighten my hair and two hours later it's catching some type of wave I also have naturally straight hair so it's very frustrating because I don't expect much from a straightener than to actually hold the straight style. I don't honestly see a less damaging affect I feel like if anything all of my split ends are a lot more noticeable I've also noticed that both sides of the plates don't get evenly hot. I give it three stars because it's cute it has a cool digital temperature setting and the color is nice but as far as effectiveness goes it's really not that great. I am 54 w/thin bleached blonde hair for abt 36 yrs now. I have never paid more than $30 for a hair straightener in my life, always used the cheap ones like Conair etc. During the last 21 days of Beauty (Sept 2020) this straight iron was like half off & still at that price a little out of my "common sense in the head buying range". No clue why people are having issues with this iron. I've had it for a year and used it about 4-6 times a month since I try not to use heat on my hair too much, and it's still in perfect condition. I want to take good care of my styling tools, but I usually leave in a hurry so I usually just put mine on the floor or roll up the cord and shove it underneath my sink, and it survived that mistreating LOL I even took it with me in my suitcase twice on trips, still works perfectly. I don't notice a different in straightening power from my old straightener but it heats up fast and it's a cute color!Khloe

I usually only ever buy the cheap straighteners and they get the job done but the results were never as good as I get from the salon and their high-quality tools. Well, the Miss Priss gives me the lasting results I want. It’s a beautiful color, comfortable to use, I love the temp display and range of temp options. The cord is plenty long enough. And I’m able to quickly and easily straighten or curl my hair usually in the first past. I had an original Chi straightener that finally died after 20+ years. I have hated the thought of replacing it but new I would eventually have too! I immediately went for the Miss Priss! I have stayed away from mini flat irons because they did not get hot enough to straighten my curly hair. I have not used this yet but did test it upon receipt. There is no heat control which I wish there were. It did get hot enough for my hair so I am very excited to take it on my next vacation so I can leave my regular, expensive flat iron at home. I purchased this to iron my bangs when I'm traveling for work. You have to section your hair into small portions and it's very difficult to finish with a slight curl at the end. My bangs end up looking straight and almost comical anytime I use this. It's not even that good at small touchups around the face etc. I've given it a few tries, and no luck. I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I have had my unit for three years. I have long coarse frizzy hair. This flat iron has reduced my straightening time to about 12 minutes. I use the second to lowest temp setting on small sections of dry hair. I get beautiful waves by twisting the flat iron and pulling down through the hair with an even amount of tension. Here in Miami the humidity is high but after I straighten my hair, it doesn't frizz. I don't use any straightening products before using the flat iron. Just clean, very dry hair and the second to lowest temperature setting (420 degrees F). The cord is long and swivels to prevent tangles. The flat iron plates are very smooth, shiny metal without any coating. My hair glides very easily through the iron. It is an excellent product.Rose

I had high hopes for this one after my small Conair had to be replaced. While it probably would have worked fine, the outside gets very hot and I was burned. That never happened with the other, where the plastic outer stayed cool/warm but never burned to the touch. So unfortunately, back it goes.

The fastest heat-up time I have ever seen on a flat iron!! If you're new to a flat iron I suggest you definitely begin with a lower heat setting, then once youve mastered the learning curve gradually increase the heat. I bought this straightener because I recently had to chop most of my hair off and my curling iron is too big now and my straightening brush is too chunky to effectively straighten my hair. I dont expect to use this for straightening for too long, since my intention is to grow my hair back out. So I thought this would be a good fit, because even once my hair grows out, I hopefully will still be able to use it for curls! It works great for my intention, straightening well and curling my hair ADORABLY. I did take off a star for three complaints: I can feel it tug at my hair sometimes. Even though I comb my hair directly before straightening or curling my hair. It isnt terrible, and it definitely doesn't hurt, but it is is bothersome. The plates wiggle a bit (which may be the cause of my first complaint) and sometimes end up misaligned ever so slightly, making it feel like my hair section isnt properly styled. And finally, this is absolutely a personal preference and nothing that the straightener could change… I hate how straighteners straighten. I love the smoothness and the shine, but it takes out all of the oomf. I prefer Bed Heads straightening brush for straightening, because I get the shine and smoothing without losing the bounce of my hair. So TLDR; this straightener is GREAT for curling short hair. It is light and easy to use. It does tug a tiny bit, but not in a problematic way. It does a fine job straightening, but I'd prefer a small sized straightening brush if one existed.Kelly
I bought it mainly so I could get tighter curls but also to fix those stubborn smaller sections and cowlicks. It does exactly what I wanted! Heats super fast (literally takes seconds), which is perfect because I'm super busy. You do have to separate hair into small sections for it to come out good. I initially purchased the Hot Tools one that is just like this one only because I didn't see this one when I was shopping online. I ended up ordering this one a week later when I discovered it so I could compare them since I wasn't sure what made them different besides the Hot Tools one being twice the price. They both worked very well – I was happy with the results. The difference that made me choose this one is that the Hot Tools one allows you to set separate temperatures for the left and right plates, which I didn't see myself using, so I couldn't justify paying twice as much for it.
