I got this due to the reviews plus I like the Jojoba leave in. I’ve tried it and tried to use it differently but this just doesn’t cut it. Like others have said it can get greasy. Been buying this for over a decade. Recently they change their novel and every time I spray at the nozzle sticks in the downward position and I have to lift it up. It’s incredibly annoying. I purchased this Heat block 22 from Ulta and wasn't too thrilled with the results. I purchased it to use with my Tyme Iron which heats at 400 degrees. While I do believe my hair is being protected with this high temperature heat spray, I'm not excited over the end results when it comes to my curls. I sprayed sections of my dry-clean hair prior to running my iron through for curls. I gave ample time for each strand to dry as well. I noticed that when i ran my iron through my hair, the curls were not as defined and looked weighed-down. This heatspray also says that it allows for a "clean release" when using heat tools…but when i used mine, i felt as though the iron was sticking or resisting as I was gliding it through. My normal go to brand is IGK but they were out and I definitely needed some heat protection so I grabbed this worst mistake ever. It did say hairspray and I cannot stand hairspray. It's made my hair feel so textured, tangled, and greasy the last 2 days not even dry shampoo is helping. This is such a good product, but just a slight learning curve. I have fine, straight, doesn't hold a curl kind of hair. I bought this on a whim looking for hair spray. Well this is even better because it's hairspray and heat protectant. I spray this on my dry hair before curling it. It will be sticky and crunchy like some other people state. Once the product is dry (which is relatively quickly) I brush it out with my wet brush, then I go in with my curling iron. Once I'm done I will brush through my curls to style them and they will be soft but also stay in place all day. I don't even have to go back in with more product after that initial spray. Every time I use this, it makes my hair sooo stringy and floppy. I have to wait a long time for it to dry, and it leaves my hair unable to hold a style anyways. I’ve tried using different amounts, and no matter how little I use, it’s like it plagues my hair with a strange texture. I’ve given this product a more than fair amount of uses, at the minimum two dozen, or 24 times. I’ve tried all weather conditions you could think of, inside outside. At a point I realized, I was trying to make this product work, as if there is a mystery way to apply, 8 jus5 haven’t figured out the code to unlock it’s full potential.but, I think it’s just due to my love for village, how ride or die I am for other product lines, that I just expected, with no doubt, that this was going to be of the same high quality. But, use after use, night after night I couldn’t go to bed without washing it from my hair. It creates that heavy, greasy texture to your hair, that makes you feel as if it’s been a week since you’ve washed your hair. That’s this type of smoothing product, you know the type I’m talking about. The one thing I do use it for is in the morning I use it to initiate the first run through of detangling, my frizzy lions mane. It works, better than water, just use a light light amount a comb. Thankful that there isn’t a harsh scent to this product, it does have a light fragrance but nothing overpowering, or heavy floral. I’m so sad to say but they really missed the mark on this one…it feels like it came from a completely different company, because this is not even close to, or comparable to the dozen or more high quality products, I’ve had the pleasure of using. This is my first miss with biolage, all the claims on this bottle, I can’t even pick one that fits or is truthful. This product is just okay! It doesn't really do all that I want from a luxury product line like [brand:briogeo]. I've tried and love many of there other products but not this one! Especially with a Finishing Spritz I'm looking for high shine, a little bit of added hold and some additional lasting scent. The shine was just minimal. The beautiful desired added shine I saw when first applied seemed to kind of "wear out" or just plain went away after about an hour. The added hold was almost none existent. Now I wasn't looking for this product to hold my hair back in a ponytail but I was looking for it to atleast tame the fly aways. That lasted about 5 min before I saw flyaways again. The much desired beautiful lasting smell of freshness that most of [brand:briogeo]s other products give, just wasn't there! ⭐️First of all let’s get this out of the way, I was incentivized. I received these samples for free from Influenster and matrix for my honest opinion⭐️ Now that’s out of the way… Oh my hair is loving me right now… I waited until shampoo day and it was well worth it! After using the amazing shampoo I was a little skeptical that my hair would take to this conditioner because it’s so damaged and after I wash it I usually have to put a million and one conditioning products in it just to make it manageable!!! Well let me tell you this is not the case! After issuing a decent size dollop I ran it through my hair starting at the ends and working my way up to the root. Then I added a little bit of water to make it activate a little bit and VIOLA! I let it sit in my hair for about 5 to 10 minutes and then I rinse with lukewarm water. I gently towel dry my hair afterwards and went to come through with a white tooth comb. This is the first time that the comb actually ran through my hair because my hair is so damaged. I literally want to cry. If your hair is out of control and it’s breaking to no end you should really try this and give it a little time and you will see such a difference. I want to wash my hair so badly again but I know I have to wait till it’s actually dirty! The smell is so lovely and it doesn’t fade away but it’s also not overbearing. Give it a try it!! I have very long hair, its about halfway down my back in length, so drying my hair takes what seems like forever. I have tried a lot of different priming sprays that are supposed to reduce drying time. This product works really well for my hair, it has cut drying time at least in half for me with my hair dryer. It has a mild and pleasant scent. The bottle doesn't last very long because of how long and thick my hair is, however it is completely worth it. Wow, this is great stuff. I am so glad I tried it. I have shoulder length, fine, straight, color-treated hair that tends to get frizzy, poufy and dry looking in summer humidity. I have tried several products, some quite expensive, without great success. For the longest time now I have been struggling to find something to make my hair smooth. I live in Georgia and have medium thickness, long, straight hair. The humidity is always crazy and I always have a ton of frizziness and flyaways. This spray is an absolute miracle! My hair is soooo silky and smoothed down without feeling greasy or heavy. I use this in place of/as if it's a hair oil/serum and it works better than any hair oil I've tried, and I've just about tried them all. This feels more moisturizing, repairing, smoothing and detangling than all of them, but it's also lighter and doesn't leave residue as long as you don't use way too much, whereas most hair oils either don't do enough, or if I use enough to get the benefits it leaves residue and weighs my hair down-there's no "sweet spot" middle ground. Some even do the latter without doing the former! But this stuff just leaves my hair soft, shiny, smooth and detangled without heaviness, residue, or oiliness. I can and do it it wet and dry, and when used on wet hair it cuts drying time down at least by half. The only thing is because my hair is on the fine side, I never spray it directly in my hair when using on dry hair (on wet hair sometimes I do sometimes I don't, it depends on much moisture my hair feels it needs) as it can get a little oily looking when I do so. Instead, I spray it directly in the palm of my hand, rub it in my hands and then run it through my hair, just like a regular hair oil/serum. Most oils and serums make my hair feel like it has a plastic coating left on it, even if I don't use too much and often without even leaving it feeling moisturized and soft under said coating-sometimes it even feels more dry (but still coated)! But this always just leaves my hair super soft and shiny, never coated, always clean! I also love that unlike the vast majority of hair oils, this is clear and doesn't stain your hair if it's light. A little also goes a long way and I feel like my bottle will last for ages, making it an excellent value since it's already considerably cheaper than many pro hair oils. Last thing- although this product is amazing for blow drying-don't let the name fool you! It is JUST as good for air drying and for use on already dry hair! in fact, those are the two ways in which I primarily use it since I rarely blow dry my hair. I've seen/heard this product be highly recommended throughout the internet and by both hair professionals and consumers alike for over a decade now and I completely understand why now. If this is too heavy for you, then try the Platinum Blow-Dry Mist instead of the spray. It goes on lighter. I've used both and honestly they both work for me, I tend to prefer stronger stuff, lol. Kenra has many choices for this type of product if you look over their line you can find something for your hair type. This one gets the most hype. It's multi purpose, I spray a small amount, not overdo it. I'm not crazy about the smell like many users here but I don't mind it. If I don't use too much the scent is not overpowering. This acts as a styling aid, heat protectant, cuts blow dry time and also I never need any hair smoothing oil afterwards like the bio silk, etc. which saves money. I had frizz damage on the strands of my hair from heat styling and using a curling iron. The curling iron smooths it but then causes more heat damage and it was a vicious cycle for years. But now my hair is all growing out, back to my normal straight/wavy smooth hair of my youth, thanks to not having to use the blow dryer as long or the curling iron. I use that revlon brush dryer now. Also sometimes a Bio ionic curling iron. Low heat setting. Still getting partial highlights with the Olaplex.Nena

This came highly recommended to me so I was super disappointed when it continually left my hair gummy and sticky. I could barely get a brush through after styling! I tried a few different application techniques but couldn’t bring myself to use it more than 3 or 4 times before throwing it out. I really tried to give this setting spray a fighting chance, and I'll admit there's a bit of a learning curve with it. Originally I sprayed it on the entire section of hair I was getting ready to work on, like I usually do with heat protectant, then immediately found out that wasn't going to fly when I couldn't even section out my hair into smaller sections to start curling. It was as if I had just sprayed maximum hold hairspray into my hair. Eventually once I got to the top half of my head I figured out you gotta brush it out (as gently as you can) but even then it wasn't a super great experience. I feel like I didn't spray my hair down as much as I typically would with a heat protectant just because I wanted to avoid sticky, clumpy hair, so I'm not sure if I've getting much heat protection. It's a bit of a all or nothing product – spray enough to get adequate heat protection but deal with a sticky, gluey mess, or don't spray as much to avoid the sticky, gluey mess but then get very little heat protection. It's remarkable to me that the product description says it adds shine, when in fact I feel like my hair looks incredibly dull and dry after using. I had to use a shine serum after to make it look better. And honestly, my curls still fell an hour after styling, so it was all for nothing. I rather just make sure I spray my hair down with a generous amount of heat protectant then follow up with a flexible hold hairspray than use this. As for the smell….yeah it's not great. Here's another Redken product that has changed, and for me, it is not for the better. It is very hard on my fine hair and when dry acts like hardened hair spray in my hair. I recently refilled a little travel spray bottle I use for traveling and saw that the product is no longer clear, it is a milky white. This is the third Redken product that has either changed or been discontinued. The hairspray I used literally changed when they changed the can about 6 years ago and I had to stop using. Then Redken discontinued Contour 08 styling liquid and I haven't found a suitable replacement with Redken and have moved on. Now Hot Sets, which I've used for 20 years, is no longer the same. My experience with this product is that it felt just like hairspray. I sprayed the piece I was rolling and rolled my hair in the hot rollers until all was rolled. Let sit and cool while I finished getting ready. When I was done I took out the rollers and proceeded to brush through my hair with my fingers to style as I always do.. I realized my hair was unbrushable..stiff..sticky. Since my hair is prone to breakage I didn't want to make matters worse I just hopped back in the shower and rewashed my hair. This is a good natural heat protectant but it is kinda heavy for my hair type which is straight with medium thickness. I think this is best for curly or thick dry hair. I also have the one with the purple label called silicone free miracle styler with marshmallow root and I like that one better.

This product overall seems to do the job. (I am uncertain how to tell how protected your hair REALLY is from the heat…). A little goes a long way. I have curly, fine hair, and if I use too much of this product, it feels greasy and weighs my hair down. However, if you use just a bit, it seems to work well. The packaging is nice, it looks great alongside the shampoo and conditioner set. Aesthetically pleasing and different packaging. The smell, while nice in itself, is way too strong in this line, and that holds true for this product as well. Overall, I like this product, will continue to use (in moderation), and would recommend it to a friend. I was given this product to test in return for my unbiased opinion. I am so happy I found this product! I received 3 products from the Biolage R.A.W. line to try out – the shampoo, conditioner and heat protector, and this heat protector is the star of the show. It smells amazing, is lightweight, conditions my hair, and protects it from the heat. I recently colored my hair for the first time in years and was nervous about the heat styling I do, because I FINALLY have gotten my hair healthy again. I received this the day before I got balyage (bleach) done, and this arrived just in time. I put this on my damp hair prior to blow-drying, or a little bit on dry hair before I curl my hair, and my hair stays shiny, hydrated, frizz-free and looking HEALTHY. This product is an absolute dream! It smells amazing and works wonders. I have used the same heat protecting spray for years, but this product has me making changes and feeling great about it! It is very light, yet it protects your hair (especially since mine is color-treated and damaged as all get out!) and smooths out all those flyaways. This product pairs really well with the shampoo and conditioner and is definitely on my list to re-purchase after I run out. The packaging is great and I feel like it is a product that will last me a long time due to only needing to use a small amount each time.
