I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

I read all the good reviews and thought it would be a good buy, however when I used it it made my hair feel super snarly!! No matter how careful I was I was just breaking and pulling hair because it was so snarly! I have never had that before not even with hairspray in my hair! It felt weird like a bad hairspray and a greaser…. it was used on hair washed 4 hours prior and was fully dried…. I applied and was ready to Hot Iron my hair, but it was just snarely no matter how I brushed it, it was terrible in my hair and when I was FINALLY done hot ironing it was still just a mess and it felt gross like a film all over my hair…. It smells like really strong men's cheap cologne. The smell is very masculine. My husband smelled it and even questioned why my hair smelled like a man, and I gave him the bottle to demonstrate. I'm very picky about the scents that I use, and I will be avoiding this just based on the smell. I bought this product because I’ve been needing heat protection for my hair. Chi is an AMAZING brand so this has to be marvelous I thought. Boy was I WRONG!! This was my first time using any kind of heat protector in my life. When I sprayed it on, it felt like hair spray. As soon as I ran my fingers through my damp hair it felt sticky and hard. I started to get bad vibes about this product right away. I ignored the red flag, and continued to blow dry my hair. My hair was a complete mess. Tangled everywhere, breaking apart. Hair was all over the place. And the hair kept getting stuck to my brush and fingers causing me to break it and creating extreme damage. I have red hair at the moment & this product definitely faded the color out. The way it looked afterwards was dry, absolutely shine less, and very brittle. The only thing it did was give me volume. I bleached my hair twice in three days and the second day of bleaching my hair it was completely fragile to the point where I literally did not want to brush it because every time I did hair and hair would fall off and I'm talking chunks of hair. I immediately remembered about this product, because I had used it in the past and it had made wonders for me. This time it still came through for me, I bought the shampoo and conditioner along with the hair repair mask and like I said it didn't disappoint me at all. As soon as I washed my hair with it I was able to feel the difference, after brushing my hair my hairbrush would have little amount of hair. I have used it about 5-6 times since I've bleached it and my hair is starting to feel back to normal. Honestly if it wasn't for this I think my hair would have been super short by now because of all the breakage I had. I read some other reviews before writing this. Yeah, it's an aerosol. I personally don't care. It's heat protection that imparts massive shine without weighing down hair. It sprays on like hairspray. I use it on clean, damp hair before blowdrying, and wow! Shiny, voluminous hair when I'm done. I haven't used it on dry hair, so I can't tell you about that. I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. I Bought the travel size Neuro Iron Hairspray. Just as a previous reviewer states, the spray nozzle stopped working. I curled half of my hair and the bottle stopped spraying the product. It was making a hissing sound , but no spray. The canister still has plenty of liquid that I can't use 😕. I have never had a product stop working so quickly. I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. I'm going to stick with the other heat protectant from this same brand, the orange and white bottle. That UV/Heat protectant isn't as watery as this one, and it is slightly heavier when sprayed, but it dries down light, and makes my hair feel so soft! Fine-haired friends — use on wet hair! My hair is fine, recovering from bleach damage, and very prone to oil. I originally followed the instructions and used on dry hair, which was no bueno. It was too heavy and felt greasy. I then tried it on towel-dried hair pre-blow dry and it is AMAZING. Not only does it get rid of frizz but it also contains heat protectant up to 450 degrees. One of the things I love about this brand is called "6-free haircare" which means NO silicones, NO harsh sulfates, NO artificial dyes, NO phthalates, NO parabens; and NO DEA. As a girl with wavy/curly hair silicones and parabens make my hair feel awful, so i typically avoid products that contain those ingredients. You don't need much of the product, but apply it root to tip. This product is good for 18 months after opening. I’ve been looking for something to help tame the frizz since I’ve moved to Florida. This product is also a heat protectant, which is a bonus. I do like the way it makes my hair feel since it seems to plump the strands just a little. Other products have left it feeling flat, but not this one! It does seem to linger in my hair even after a wash, smoothing the strands. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not (may lead to build-up), but for now I like it. So its great for moisture but it doesnt block any type of humidity. Its quite of bit of money to pay for something that doesnt do what it claims to do. I purchased during Ultas prestige sale soI didnt pay full price. I would still apply a cream over this as it is lightweight. I used this under the blow dry cream by briogeo but neither provided any humidity blocking. I used these two products in conjunction with my revair and my hair was super soft just no hold, my hair was smooth and felt moisturized with using the briogeo leave in and blow drycream I wish their was hold, I wish the product size was larger for the amount of money. I have thin hair that gets weighed down easily. I was so excited to get this to use with my LeDuo360 and LeVolume, but first spray and…I smell ALCOHOL?1? Yes, the first ingredient is Alcohol. WHY? Yes, it says karatin infused (9th ingredient) and other goodies, but alcohol? Two types of alcohol in this! So my already dry hair will not be getting a dosing of a more drying ingredient. I am very confused by the rave reviews when this clearly SMELLS like alcohol and also evaporates like alcohol, so HOW is it helping the hair?? Spray it on your hand…it's GONE within a few seconds- if you're putting it on your hair, it's gone before you get the flat iron/dryer/styler or anything else to work with. I’m giving 5 stars bc I love your products! I ordered a few things during your annual sale. All items showed in stock. Only, after the order, did I get told one thing was on back order and the whole order wouldn’t be shipped bc of one item. I’m even paying for shipping so it wasn’t even free shipping. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. Left my hair feeling great, nice and soft, and actually made styling my hair a lot easier. It was just the smell that turned me off. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.
My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. My Hair Type: I have a full head of fine hair (as in wispy, slender strands–not balding) that has never been colored. Styling: I apply a couple products to a) protect my hair, and b) give it volume. Thus, I needed a fine mist for a touchable realistic look. The Purchase: When I had long hair I used CHI Iron Guard because it was all I knew. But now with my asymmetrical bob, I needed an even lighter weight non-greasy option. I chose Rusk (in-store) based on the nozzle. I noticed the bottle had a mist button–like most lightweight hairsprays–opposed to a spray pump that puts out heavier droplets of product. My decision was finalized when I realized Rusk was only a dollar more than the CHI and came in a larger size. Results: This stuff goes on like a weaker hold hairspray and covers a lot of strands at once. It's not too sticky when used in moderation. I use heat temperatures up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and I am satisfied with Rusk's protection. My hair came out shiny with a bouncy look that didn't look greasy or frizzed. My one caution is to not get too heavy-handed with this spray, given its lightweight feel–you don't need a lot to get the results you want. Having fine hair with no oomph, this product is a godsend. If you want root-lift, and volume, it is perfect. It leaves my hair shiny, and it gives me enough texture to style my hair the way I want. It is lightweight, and protects my hair without leaving it greasy. If you are looking for a basic thermal protectant, with no stiffness, I wouldn't recommend this product. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. The shipping took forever. Literally, a month. I’m not sure if I chose the right things for my hair or if I just honestly don’t like them. The tops of the shampoo and conditioner bottles are poorly designed and hard to squeeze. In two attempts to wash my hair I had to squeeze so hard that when it did come out half the bottle sprayed onto my wall and was wasted. I didn’t expect it to help with flakiness much but it didn’t work for making my scalp less itchy either. I can’t speak to the effectiveness of the Thermal Magique because I’ve been too discouraged by how it and the Sorbet feel in my hair to style it. It's medicore. The packaging is cute, sprays well and smells like yummy vanilla, but it leaves a tacky residue on my hair. It's not super sticky or hard, it still leaves the hair flexible but I don't love the slight tackiness. I ended up returning it because I honestly prefer the tresemme one. It makes the hair silky and doesn't leave a weird residue. It's also half the price so I'm sticking with my tried and truekelly.e

I use this on days I plan on using a flat iron. I use a dime size amount and work it through my hair before blow drying with my round brush. It really helps tame my frizz and keep my hair manageable. My scalp tends to get oily quickly and sometimes products like this make it worse. However, I haven't noticed that when using this. Love this! Bought a 2nd tube to have on hand if they ever discontinue it. I have fine textured, semi-curly bleached hair, but a lot of it. This doesn't weight my hair down or leave it sticky or stiff. It simply adds lots of healthy-feeling volume without frizz (for reference, I blow dry and flat iron my hair). I’ve been using this for years now. It smells amazing. It’s an oil with thick consistency but it doesn’t wear your hair down at all. My hair is bleached and can look damaged at times but whenever I put this on my styled hair, it looks shiny and healthy. Sometimes I add it to my hair when it’s wet right out of the shower. Other times I just add it to my dry hair if it’s looking dull. It’s a long time because a little goes a long way. I usually use 1-2 pumps for my long, thick hair.kat.k
Great balm for protecting hair before heat-styling and also as a general leave in cream. I used this when my hair was wet (before blow drying straightening), dry (before straightening), and both wet and dry with no heat styling tools after. It works great for all situations. I LOVE that my hair doesn’t feel product-y after using—most heat styling pre-treatments leave my hair feeling filmy and unnatural. The bottle is plastic and has a cap, and uses a pump, but it is a great size for traveling because it’s less than 3.4 oz, and plastic, and a cap. Also, the pump top is screwed on, so I’ve added Oribe’s gel product to this bottle to extend the life of this product! Leaves your hair glistening too—in the product you can see mini flecks of glitter, which gives your hair some nice shine. And the best part—it SMELLS AMAZING! I will not leave town without Oribe's Balm D'Or Heat Styling Shield, that is how much I love and depend upon this product to keep my hair in good health. There is something that is so special about this product that has kept me coming back for it year after year after year, and I think there is definitely something to be said for the condition of my hair, particularly my ability to keep length to my very fine curly hair, which should be heat damaged due to straightening (and should be stressed at the root due to very volatile chronic seborrheic dermatitis). I'm telling you – the trick is using this CREAMY/ BALM style Heat Protectant on my midlength to ends of my hair in addition to whichever heat protectant spray I am cycling through at the moment (there have been a few – but one thing has remained constant and steadfast… my Oribe Balm D'Or). I’ve used a few different argan oils for my hair, most common ones being the OGX and Hanz De Fuko Hair Oil. The Forte Series beats them both by a mile! I have fine hair, so those of you who are like me know it’s hard to find a good product that controls frizz while not weighing your hair down too much. This does just that! It’s not too oily and heavy (much like the OGX ) and does a better job controlling the frizz when compared to HDF Hair Oil. This stuff goes on super easy and evenly and leaves my hair soft all day. The scent is the same as the molding paste so no need to worry about clashing fragrances. Fine Hair Tip: after washing with shampoo and towel drying, I mix a drop of this in my hand with the Molding Paste as a pre-styler to give my hair so much more volume when blow drying!Matt M.

I absolutely love this product. The smell is amazing and it makes my hair soft and somewhat glossy. When i apply the product to my hair, it glides smoothly across, which I really like. I use hair dryers a lot throughout the week when I style my hair, so I also needed something that could work as a heat protectant, and this product does just that. I also bought this for my friend for his birthday, he really likes how it leaves his hair feeling super soft and smooth.
