U don't need a whole lot, with this stuff, a little bit goes a looong way! Focus on the ends , sometimes it gets greasy! I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don't use any other hairspray after. It's not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair. You can't even tell there's hairspray in my hair after I'm done curling. Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don't want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair. It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over. So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn't notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I noticed the next morning that a large section of hair just to the right of my temple was gone, maybe an inch'ish away from the scalp! My stomach sank, my face became clammy! I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry). Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs). I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate "hair sprays") except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed. I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. I don't have thick hair but it appears like I do because I have SO much hair. It's color damaged and very dry and frizzy so I either need to add curling cream to get my waves or fully blow dry it straight. I used to use the Bb repair blow dry cream and that made my hair silky after a blow dry. This product left me with a residue on my hair I can feel. I was on TIK TOK late one night, as usual, and came across a hair dresser that recommended the Verb Ghost line shampoo, well one thing led to another and I found that Ulta has a starter kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, prep, and oil. So because it was such a great deal, I ordered a kit and added their deep conditioner because who doesn't like having a deep container to try as well. While I waited 3 days for my order to arrive, I allowed my hair to get as dirty as possible. If I was going to try this line, I wanted to get the full effect on the first use. The order finally arrived and I ran to the bathroom like a giddy school girl that couldn't wait to try this product line. Let's talk packaging! It is simple but high end. To be honest, the name Ghost and it being a black bottle, is what originally won my goth little heart! The smell was about average for salon quality hair care, which is great because I knew it wasn't filled with a bunch of artificial fragrances. I did my usual lather rinse repeat, followed with the deep conditioner that I let sit for 5 mins, towel dried my hair, added a little squirt of the Verb Ghost Prep through out my whole head, combed out, then added 2 pumps of the oil to my ends. Now usually that is where I stop because I HATE blow drying my hair. But today was different and I needed the results ASAP. So I grabbed my blow out brush and started at work. The results? My hair was so healthy and shiny! It smelled so good, felt amazing, and it actually had some volume! This stuff (when used sparingly) didn't make me feel weighed down at all. And because my hair is so long, usually most products make my hair feels so heavy and feels like it left a gross film on my strands. Now I will say, don't use the Prep if you want to air dry your hair. I have done it a couple times now, and it leaves my hair kind of crunchy feeling towards the roots. I Love love love. I just used this last night and super pleased with the results. I have very fine hair and it does not weigh it down or feel greasy like others posted. It has a nice scent too. So many hair products have silicone which over time coats the hair but not allowing moisture in and can leave build up and dry hair from inside out. This hair product has none of the bad stuff and leaves my hair feeling nourished and protected. I got this due to the reviews plus I like the Jojoba leave in. I’ve tried it and tried to use it differently but this just doesn’t cut it. Like others have said it can get greasy. I got some fried spots from it, I’ve tried to understand how the reviews are so high. I also can’t use even two sprays in my bathroom as it fills the whole room and it’s not exxactly small. Been buying this for over a decade. Recently they change their novel and every time I spray at the nozzle sticks in the downward position and I have to lift it up. It’s incredibly annoying. I am hoping to swap it out for the old sprayer if they have it in stores but if they don’t I will be looking elsewhere for a new heat protection spray. It is one thing to raise the prices (used to be 6.29 back in the day) but when you downgrade the quality of the bottle it makes me not want to bother anymore. First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.
My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. The first time I tried it, I thought it was going to be really oily but it dries as you go and leaves the hair soft and smooth, and a nice finished look. I do like this, works good when you do not over spray. Can be very greasy on finer hair types so use sparingly. A little goes a long way with this product. One of the things I love about this brand is called "6-free haircare" which means NO silicones, NO harsh sulfates, NO artificial dyes, NO phthalates, NO parabens; and NO DEA. As a girl with wavy/curly hair silicones and parabens make my hair feel awful, so i typically avoid products that contain those ingredients. I’ve been looking for something to help tame the frizz since I’ve moved to Florida. This product is also a heat protectant, which is a bonus. I do like the way it makes my hair feel since it seems to plump the strands just a little. Other products have left it feeling flat, but not this one! It does seem to linger in my hair even after a wash, smoothing the strands. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not (may lead to build-up), but for now I like it. I purchased during Ultas prestige sale soI didnt pay full price. I would still apply a cream over this as it is lightweight. I'm not crazy about it, but it's not strong and it dissipates after a while, so I'm okay with it. This makes my hair look GREAT. I smooth it onto my air-dried hair, then use my hot iron. I normally straighten the shaft, and curl the ends. This product makes my hair look silky and "finished" and definitely holds the curl at the ends. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. I have purchased and repurchased the @evanyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 primer so many times. I always loved the way it gave shine to my hair and protected it from the continual blow dry. I did notice that, though it didn’t claim to, it did cut down on my dry time a smidge. I think something about the moisturizing oil ingredients helped to wick away the water. Anyway, this product does everything the Eva NYC Mane Magic does…except even better! It smells SO good. I wish I could describe the scent, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s perfume-like without being too much. It has an excellent fine mist that makes even distribution a breeze. My hair is even shinier and less frizzy than with the Eva NYC. This product really does reduce dry time! I was blown away, lol honestly! I have very thick, full, medium length hair that typically takes a half hour to blow dry (that’s after the towel and air dry for a half hour). With this, it’s more like 15-20 minutes. That’s a huge difference for me! Also, my hair feels smoother when I use this, and I haven’t noticed any weigh down on my roots when I use this all over. My hair has never been as straight, frizz free and shiny as it does with RedKen Quick Blowout. My dry time is cut in half with this one and I was impressed. My hair is curly/ wavy and tends to have quite a bit of frizz. If I add the RedKen Big Blowout right before my hair is dry. It gives me the instant volume, sleekness and shine I would find from flat ironing! As I am writing this I'm trying to get a brush through my hair after drying it with this product. It took me twice as long to blow dry it because it just turned into one big knot. I know how primers work because I've use the L'Oreal one multiple times with no issue. This made my hair dry, knotty, and extremely hard to blow dry or straighten. I just bought the Dyson Corrale so I thought I’ll get a good heat protection spray. The sales associate sAw me carrying the heavy Dyson bag and said Quai always partner with Dyson. Well, that’s a good selling point. And that’s the only heat protector they have in the Raffles City store. When I sprayed it on my hair… I choked. The smell is bad. Really bad. I thought hair products always smell nice. This smell of aerosol. I was so afraid my hair will explode. It’s also a little sticky. Now, I just get a cheaper one from a pharmacy which always did wonders for my hair. Nicer smell. Non-sticky.

My hair is really damaged. We'll, half of it is anyways. I started growing my hair out a while ago. I have left the top part of my hair totally natural with no dye, and the bottom half of my hair is totally over-processed, and has been bleached and dyed more times than I could even begin to count. What a difference this product makes in mine and my husband's hair! His hair was so smooth and soft it was amazing! It added volume to his normally flat hair as well. We also sprayed it on my hair when it was dry and it did the same thing! It basically almost totally eliminated all of my billion flyaways, and made my hair very soft and manageable. I had tried a few other heat protection products prior to this (kevin murphy/aveda), and this is the best so far for my fine, colour-treated hair. it sprays on light, the smell does not linger and it's pleasant when it is there, not overpowering at all (but as other reviews note – doesn't smell like honey, more of a light floral scent). it does not weigh down my hair and if anything, i actually get a few extra days out of each wash – I'm not getting oily hair as quickly as I used to since using this. another great product in the gisou line-up! I purchased this product since I was looking to try a new brand of heat protectant. I really liked the scent, but I don't know that it is super effective for my hair. I found it odd that the instructions said to apply to dry hair, and I blow dry my hair so I ended up using a different heat protector on my wet hair. I used this prior to straightening my hair and it smelled good, but I guess hard to tell if it is effective since my hair still experienced the same issues with frizz/dryness that I did prior to using this. This formula smells pretty nice and did seem to do a decent job helping to protect the hair. It added a little bit of shine as well. However, I do wish it helped to smooth the hair and control frizz better. I mostly liked to use it if I needed to refresh my hair and restyle especially if I was on second-day hair. I would spritz some product where needed and touch up with a blow dryer to smooth and style my hair again. I also used it when I needed to touch up my daughter's hair and preferred using it over plain water or a detangler spray. I'd probably only repurchase this for use on my young daughter's hair, it will be nice to protect her hair for when we have to blow dry it as well. For myself, I already have a cream that helps to smooth my hair and fight frizz better than this did, it also protects against heat. Like: the smell- it’s delish! Dislike: The stickiness/residue of it afterwards. If I got any on my hand, it would stick and feel not so great. Also, make sure to brush/comb your hair as soon as you spray it. I found that it kind of hardened if not brushed/combed out properly. This is my staple heat protectant spray. Love the bottle, easy to spray and it sprays in a fine mist, not making my hair overly wet with product. This product also helps with frizz and smoothens my hair , also reduces knots in my hair. I have found that this spray is effective as it has not been damaging my hair. I have been routinely blowdrying my hair currently and my hair has been healthy. Love that it is not strongly fragrance . Also love the fact that it does not weigh down my thin hair. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. Walmart is always wonderful about returning/exchanging anything that you get, even if you don't have the receipt! So people don't pay attention to the bad reviews on this!MamaD79

i love this product and it does everything it says it should — my hair is finicky, so that's high praise. but the glass bottle? garbage. knocked it over one time and it shattered, and i do mean SHATTERED, into many tiny pieces. i keep finding them the hard way because they were too small to see to sweep up. t couldn't salvage the serum because of all the little shards! nearly $30 in the trash, itty bitty shards stabbing my feet, and oil/serum that took hours to completely remove from my floor. i understand sustainability, but surely there's a medium to be met here?
The product was okay; I used it for about 4 days. Then on day 5, the slightly oily bottle slipped from my hand to the tile floor and shattered – I mean SHATTERED- into a million pieces. Still picking up tiny pink shards of glass and also pulling them from my feet. Have used lots of oil type hair products in past and never had breakage like this. I would avoid based purely on packaging!
I wasn't blessed with thick hair. Mine is fine, medium length and color-treated (honey beige blonde) with a mind of its own. Until a month ago, my hair routine was shampoo/condition, work oil treatment through hair, use foam volumizer, and blow-dry. I saw BLOCKADE on Amika website and realized in all my years of styling and blow-drying, my hair looked fine for a few days then lost its fizzle. Okay, so maybe it's the weather. BLOCKADE Test Run: I shampooed and conditioned; stepped out of the shower. I worked three pumps of BLOCKADE through my hair.. I could see a difference, my hair was loving it and I wasn't half finished. I used my other oil treatment, foam volumizing then started blow-drying. It was then that I saw a huge difference. My hair felt/looked fuller and shinier. I had used other products that supposedly protect the hair from heat and damage but none of them did what BLOCKADE does. My family and friends noticed the difference which is huge. BLOCKADE lives up to its name and delivers. My style lasts til the next shampooing. Curious to see what my hairstylist has to say at my next appointment. I also bring my Amika products with me.

Any product that has the word “primer” in it gets my attention as it feels like something that is put on before adding anything else serves a purpose especially before applying heat. I think that when it comes to hair, we often don’t think to add a primer or heat protective item but definitely it keeps from heat ruining your hair. I haven’t been doing much to my hair separate from washing and having it in a messy bun. For this review, I blew dry my hair and used the priming spray but since getting this in the box, I spray my hair with it even if I will be air drying it. I have noticed it makes my hair smell great and hydrates it a bit. I don’t know if that was any intention but I will continue to use it that way as it works for my hair type. So with the heat protection spray I do like it. I don’t spray so much of it mostly when my hair is damp because when it’s dry like it just makes my hair feel very heavy. anyways I did try it both ways wet hair and dry hair just to see what works best for me. My experiences with this were positive not so much negative may be just like a little bit I have thin fine hair and it’s also oily so a little bit of everything and any product goes a long way I do know that because of the changes in season and I do require to use a little bit more so this would be very helpful for me during the winter because in the summer my hair heats up really bad because of the sun and it’s just I live in his dry state so he protection and I do straighten my hair a lot it does not really go with me. A little bit of a use I do get out of it but in the winter that is when I will definitely be using it to the max but other than that my hair did become heavy after a long day I’m not gonna say it so much light weight but it did make me feel good for a while with nice hair and it does smell good. Other than that I did like it but not so much love it it is something I will continue to use and add to my routine as the seasons change. elizeth.s
I can't lie, I was really blown away by this line. Although I really wanted to give a good review on how well this straightened and retained my hair, I can't really say. I applied this I let my hair mostly sure dry in twists, then I proceeded to blow my hair out. I then straightened my hair. No other products were required to straighten my hair and it came out very silly and beautiful, by it didn't last😩. By the next day, the exterior layer of my hair had already swollen up. While this product DOES protect from heat damage (I tested some strands that remained straight, and they retained their curl after rehydrating), it does NOT help to retain the style or defy any humidity. I do not think this system, overall, does very well retaining heat styles or defending against humidity. I didn't get past more than a day before my hair swelled up from humidity. BUT, ill also point out that I experienced swelling on the outer layer of my hair, but underneath it was still straight, which was a new occurrence for me, and I was impressed. That meant I had less hassle to put up with to re-style it, which I did using perm rollers. All in all, I would t recommend this product individually.tre.l
