I read all the good reviews and thought it would be a good buy, however when I used it it made my hair feel super snarly!! No matter how careful I was I was just breaking and pulling hair because it was so snarly! I have never had that before not even with hairspray in my hair! It felt weird like a bad hairspray and a greaser…. it was used on hair washed 4 hours prior and was fully dried…. I applied and was ready to Hot Iron my hair, but it was just snarely no matter how I brushed it, it was terrible in my hair and when I was FINALLY done hot ironing it was still just a mess and it felt gross like a film all over my hair…. I would not buy again nor would I recommend it to people I known
It smells like really strong men's cheap cologne. The smell is very masculine. My husband smelled it and even questioned why my hair smelled like a man, and I gave him the bottle to demonstrate. I'm very picky about the scents that I use, and I will be avoiding this just based on the smell. Most people who wear long hair and use a curling iron are women, so you would think a more neutral scent or something feminine would be more suitable. I bought this product because I’ve been needing heat protection for my hair. Chi is an AMAZING brand so this has to be marvelous I thought. Boy was I WRONG!! This was my first time using any kind of heat protector in my life. When I sprayed it on, it felt like hair spray. As soon as I ran my fingers through my damp hair it felt sticky and hard. I started to get bad vibes about this product right away. I ignored the red flag, and continued to blow dry my hair. My hair was a complete mess. Tangled everywhere, breaking apart. Hair was all over the place. And the hair kept getting stuck to my brush and fingers causing me to break it and creating extreme damage. I have red hair at the moment & this product definitely faded the color out. The way it looked afterwards was dry, absolutely shine less, and very brittle. The only thing it did was give me volume. That’s why I gave it two stars. It’s more like 1.5 tbh. I can name a bunch of other products that can give you volume for way less damage. For a first time heat protectant buyer. This was a no no. I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don't use any other hairspray after. It's not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair. You can't even tell there's hairspray in my hair after I'm done curling. Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don't want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair. It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over. So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn't notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I noticed the next morning that a large section of hair just to the right of my temple was gone, maybe an inch'ish away from the scalp! My stomach sank, my face became clammy! I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry). Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs). I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate "hair sprays") except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed. I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. Left my hair feeling great, nice and soft, and actually made styling my hair a lot easier. It was just the smell that turned me off. I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. Now that I’m a bit more ingredients conscious there are silicones and alcohols in here, as well as some irritants such as linalool, limonene, and citronellol.justine.f
This is a fantastic product, its honestly the first heat protectant product thats actually worked when I straighten my fine hair!! I actually really like this heat protectant from Foxybae. I didn’t think that highly of most of their products as some people have, but this heat protectant was well done! It's medicore. The packaging is cute, sprays well and smells like yummy vanilla, but it leaves a tacky residue on my hair. It's not super sticky or hard, it still leaves the hair flexible but I don't love the slight tackiness. I ended up returning it because I honestly prefer the tresemme one. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. I don't have thick hair but it appears like I do because I have SO much hair. It's color damaged and very dry and frizzy so I either need to add curling cream to get my waves or fully blow dry it straight. I used to use the Bb repair blow dry cream and that made my hair silky after a blow dry. This product left me with a residue on my hair I can feel. I was on TIK TOK late one night, as usual, and came across a hair dresser that recommended the Verb Ghost line shampoo, well one thing led to another and I found that Ulta has a starter kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, prep, and oil. So because it was such a great deal, I ordered a kit and added their deep conditioner because who doesn't like having a deep container to try as well. While I waited 3 days for my order to arrive, I allowed my hair to get as dirty as possible. If I was going to try this line, I wanted to get the full effect on the first use. The order finally arrived and I ran to the bathroom like a giddy school girl that couldn't wait to try this product line. Let's talk packaging! It is simple but high end. To be honest, the name Ghost and it being a black bottle, is what originally won my goth little heart! The smell was about average for salon quality hair care, which is great because I knew it wasn't filled with a bunch of artificial fragrances. I did my usual lather rinse repeat, followed with the deep conditioner that I let sit for 5 mins, towel dried my hair, added a little squirt of the Verb Ghost Prep through out my whole head, combed out, then added 2 pumps of the oil to my ends. Now usually that is where I stop because I HATE blow drying my hair. But today was different and I needed the results ASAP. So I grabbed my blow out brush and started at work. The results? My hair was so healthy and shiny! It smelled so good, felt amazing, and it actually had some volume! This stuff (when used sparingly) didn't make me feel weighed down at all. And because my hair is so long, usually most products make my hair feels so heavy and feels like it left a gross film on my strands. Now I will say, don't use the Prep if you want to air dry your hair. I have done it a couple times now, and it leaves my hair kind of crunchy feeling towards the roots. I Love love love. I just used this last night and super pleased with the results. I have very fine hair and it does not weigh it down or feel greasy like others posted. It has a nice scent too. So many hair products have silicone which over time coats the hair but not allowing moisture in and can leave build up and dry hair from inside out. I Bought the travel size Neuro Iron Hairspray. Just as a previous reviewer states, the spray nozzle stopped working. I curled half of my hair and the bottle stopped spraying the product. It was making a hissing sound , but no spray. The canister still has plenty of liquid that I can't use 😕. I have never had a product stop working so quickly. I normally keep products I'm not crazy about and use them as back up if needed. I will return this because I can't use it. Oh well.Harle78
After seeing some many people reviewing this heat protection spray I decided to give it a try! It was a wasted of my money! First of all this heat protection it's not for all hair types, I have a coily 4a-4b hair and it wasn't good at all! As soon I applied the spray my hair gets stick and coarse. I like that it supposedly protects your hair from heat, adds volume and at the same time has some hold to it. It would have been a dream come true for a person with fine wavy hair. But unfortunately it underperforms on 2 of those promises. It doesn't really add anything to the volume and it has no hold. There's no way for me to know how well it protects my hair from any heat exposure. I'll finish this bottle, but most likely will not repurchase. This is my staple heat protectant spray. Love the bottle, easy to spray and it sprays in a fine mist, not making my hair overly wet with product. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

I have purchased and repurchased the @evanyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 primer so many times. I always loved the way it gave shine to my hair and protected it from the continual blow dry. I did notice that, though it didn’t claim to, it did cut down on my dry time a smidge. I think something about the moisturizing oil ingredients helped to wick away the water. Anyway, this product does everything the Eva NYC Mane Magic does…except even better! It smells SO good. I wish I could describe the scent, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s perfume-like without being too much. It has an excellent fine mist that makes even distribution a breeze. My hair is even shinier and less frizzy than with the Eva NYC. This product really does reduce dry time! I was blown away, lol honestly! I have very thick, full, medium length hair that typically takes a half hour to blow dry (that’s after the towel and air dry for a half hour). With this, it’s more like 15-20 minutes. That’s a huge difference for me! Also, my hair feels smoother when I use this, and I haven’t noticed any weigh down on my roots when I use this all over. I received this complimentary RedKen Styling Blowout VoxBox from Influenster and RedKen for my review. I received RedKen Quick Blowout and RedKen Big Blowout. These two work so great together! My hair has never been as straight, frizz free and shiny as it does with RedKen Quick Blowout. My dry time is cut in half with this one and I was impressed. My hair is curly/ wavy and tends to have quite a bit of frizz. If I add the RedKen Big Blowout right before my hair is dry. It gives me the instant volume, sleekness and shine I would find from flat ironing! No flat iron needed, however with the added heat protection why not 😉 My hair feels soft, smooth and looks frizz free and shiny all day. And they smell amazing! I never write reviews, but I had to for this. This is the worst product I've ever used in my entire life. As I am writing this I'm trying to get a brush through my hair after drying it with this product. It took me twice as long to blow dry it because it just turned into one big knot. I know how primers work because I've use the L'Oreal one multiple times with no issue. This made my hair dry, knotty, and extremely hard to blow dry or straighten. I'm going to have to wash my hair again after just washing it to get this product out of my hair. I don't know what the deal is with Redken or Ulta but it seems like the Redken products that I bought from Ulta recently have been terrible. I use hot tools after every wash – whether just the hair dryer when I leave my hair curly, or blow dryer and straightener – so I use a lot of heat spray to protect my hair. I've been in search of a clean heat protectant and this stuff is awesome! I've found that with my current aerosol spray, it really lingers in the air and I end up breathing in so much of it. This one does not linger in the air, which is a huge bonus. I've only tried it a couple of times so far, but it's really nice. It works really well and smells great too, but not too strong. It has a light, fresh scent. It is a very wet spray, so you just have to be careful not to spray too close to the hair, and wait a second for it to dry a bit before using a hot tool directly on the hair. I'm really looking forward to seeing the long-term protection results.hkosik13

I don't understand why Bondi Boost has their product reviews all meshed together in one, but this review is specifically for the Bondi Boost HEAT protectant. I just purchased my second bottle and something about this bottle is different than the first. I hate it. It's awful. It smells like windex and kind of looks like milky windex. Very odd. The first bottle I purchased back in September had mostly clear liquid inside. I even reached out to BB and they confirmed the milky purple/bluish color is normal with their modified formula. I have shoulder length platinum blonde hair, but a good 3-4 inches of my natural hair for a lived in blonde look. This makes my blonde feel waxy and almost crunchy. I don't understand why because my hair isn't damaged by any means, but something in the new formula doesn't agree with color treated hair, specifically blonde. I've seen other reviews with others having the same issue. So, if you have color treated blonde hair I'd give this one a hard pass. I'm bummed because I love that it's free of alcohol, silicone and other harmful chemicals found in just about every heat protectant on the market.Kait

I had the opportunity to try Hair Food's new coconut and argan oil "Heat Protection Blend" and I would enjoy sharing my experience. I used this product on my towel-dried hair after shampooing and conditioning as usual. I flipped my head upside down and spritzed liberally then straightened up and applied a little more. I worked it through with my fingers and then I blow dried as usual. I did not use any other product on my hair so I could really get an idea of Hair Food's benefits. After blow drying and a bit of finger combing, my hair was soft and shiny. Very nice! The product also has a great smell that filled the whole bathroom while I was drying my hair! As my hair is thin, it only takes me a couple of minutes to dry, and I only use curling irons or flat irons occasionally, I probably wouldn't use this product much BUT…we did have an accidental discovery! My boyfriend grabbed the Hair Food heat protection spray after showering and sprayed it (probably quite generously!) on his hair and WOW! His very curly red locks looked great! He did not blow dry or apply any kind of heat but his hair looked and felt awesome, shiny and SO soft! So, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with thick, curly hair, regardless of heat applications. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.

I don't understand where a lot of these people are saying it's greasy or it stinks. I've used this product, among other Chi products, for years. I decided to purchase this recently on Home Essentials Direct because it was a good price. It is just like any other Chi Shine Spray I've purchased from other places. I'm guessing that maybe the other reviewers are spraying it too close to their hair, and maybe the smell is too strong for them; therefore, it "smells". The scent is strong, but it's a pleasant, fresh scent. I use this after I spray finishing spray on my hair to make my hair shiny and smell good. I get compliments for how great my hair smells! So if you purchase this, be sure to spray far enough away so it won't make your hair greasy and don't over spray!! I spray it all over my hair about 8 inches away for only 1-2 seconds.K.
Chi Shine Infusion is my favorite Chi product. I use it on damp and dry hair. I love what it adds to my hair after I straighten it. It tends to appear dry even though it’s amazingly soft. The Shine Spray definitely is the finishing touch. It also does wonders for my nails cuticles. I always wind up getting some on my hands, but I don’t wash it off, I use every bit by massaging it into my nails cuticles. The smell is amazing! However, it is an aerosol can. So, make sure there’s airflow around you. It otherwise leaves a little ‘mist’ in the air around. Also, you don’t need much. If you use too much, it’ll leave your hair looking oily—which defeats the whole purpose of healthy looking hair. For some reason, it’s irritating to my daughter and makes her cough. I’m just smart about when where I use it, because I’m not going to give it up!lesli.h
I absolutely love this brand. Sadly, I currently live in dry desert, SDCA, and my poor DRY hair (and skin for that matter) hates me. I'm from Houston, TX and used CHI for many years due to the humid climate. Coincidentally this brand was founded and is manufactured in Houston so they know a little something about Frizzies, I imagine. I have fine, BABY fine strands and thyroid condition and I'm young 40's. ie predominately gray but color regularly. I'm unable to enjoy many products and when I happen to find one it is a struggle to find that sweet spot at applying the correct amount (or lack thereof) I've learned that I cannot use too much of anything or my hair's a mess. A work in progress would be safe to say. I am not affiliated with Chi or ULTA, for disclosure purposes. In short, it doesn't matter if you are in a dry climate, humid climate or anywhere between, thick hair, fine hair, curly or (like myself straight as a board) this product offers choices for all. Reviews that claim it is heavy/oily, I think maybe less in more? Just food for thought. Try it, you may find it works and the best aspect, you're paying less than other professional lines which I won't name drop. PS..I LOVE the scent and wish CHI would create a hair perfume product. Lets start with the ONLY "con"- my local Ulta doesn't always have it in stock. I have very curly, somewhat frizzy hair and I live in Texas so the humidity makes my hair completely unmanageable. I recently had several inches of hair cut off, my stylist used Trilliant before she used the blow dryer and a second slight mist before straightening my hair. My hair has never looked or felt better! I wrote down what product she used on me and went directly to Ulta to pick it up. Since that day myy hair is smooth, shiny, has no frizz and when I straighten it I don't have the frazzled 'too much heat' look on the ends. I can actually run my fingers through my previously unmanageable mane! The smell is fantastic and isn't over powering like some products can be. Now I won't use anything else.aCoffeeJunky
This product is great! I use it to help protect my fine, curly, color treated, prone to breakage hair from heat tools. It is a pricey item being anywhere from $16-$19 a bottle. If I'm using it almost everyday during the week the bottle could last me 4-6 weeks. (I have long hair) Just keep that in mind when purchasing this product. I feel it's worth every penny though. I'm a low income woman but this is one product I go back to again and again. One other thing, it does feel a little sticky in your hair when you first spray it I usually spray this product in my hands and rub it in between them in order to not have that feeling as much, but after you use your hot tool that feeling goes away! I allow my hair to mostly air dry before spritzing and using a styling blow dry brush. It smells okay and works okay but is nothing to rave about. If I use too much, it can feel a bit sticky. This is not a particularly moisturizing product if that is something you need to take into consideration. The shimmer content, while observable when shaking the bottle, does not appear to do much for my hair. For the price, I definitely think I can do better. My hair is long, straight, medium density, bleached, and trends oily.Kimberlee

I got this due to the reviews plus I like the Jojoba leave in. I’ve tried it and tried to use it differently but this just doesn’t cut it. Like others have said it can get greasy. I got some fried spots from it, I’ve tried to understand how the reviews are so high. I also can’t use even two sprays in my bathroom as it fills the whole room and it’s not exxactly small. I’ve thought maybe I don’t know how to use it. I wanted to love it but had to purchase from a different heat protector and that’s doing wonders for me.Samantha
Been buying this for over a decade. Recently they change their novel and every time I spray at the nozzle sticks in the downward position and I have to lift it up. It’s incredibly annoying. I am hoping to swap it out for the old sprayer if they have it in stores but if they don’t I will be looking elsewhere for a new heat protection spray. It is one thing to raise the prices (used to be 6.29 back in the day) but when you downgrade the quality of the bottle it makes me not want to bother anymore. I contemplated buying a spray bottle to put this in but why, I’m already paying $10 with tax for this! Product itself is great which is why I been buying it since 2005 so please change to the original nozzle if you want to retain long term consumer of this product.

My hair is pretty relaxed for having natural curly mixed hair. But I am in my 40s , so unfortunately, (unlike the rest of my body) it's thinning. U don't need a whole lot, with this stuff, a little bit goes a looong way! Focus on the ends , sometimes it gets greasy! But I love how this product helps with frizziness, protects from heat & brings shine to the hair!
I don't know when or where i purchased this from. However, a few weeks ago I was going through my products and found this. I sprayed it on my hair right before drying it. I was completely amazed and so happy I found it because it made my hair so soft, light, sleek, smooth and it smells good! It didnt leave a heavy oily texture like other products do. I thought to myself, "this has gotta be a professional product from a salon." I just looked it up online because I've already used it all on myself and my daughter. A little goes a long way. I promise this product will surprise you. I can't stop touching my hair! It's so silky!!
I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

I am typically a huge fan of Kendra hair products. I have been using them for literally years,. This particular product I did not enjoy. It sat in my hair funny and left my hair feeling "sticky". However, I do find this to be the case with most heat protectants that I have used in the past. I have mixed feelings about Kenra in general. I’ve had an allergic reaction to the shampoo before so I was a little hesitant about trying anything else. After searching for what seemed like forever for a heat protectant, I landed on the hot spray. I think it functions exactly as expected. I do feel like my hair has been much healthier since using it. However, I do not love the perfume smell! It smells almost like cheap hairspray. It also makes your hair a little sticky if you use too much, which I guess is a given but still not that thrilled about it.taryn.c
I'm super confused by the good reviews. I normally never hate a product but this product sucks. It's like hairspray. If your hair doesn't hold a curl well maybe you would like it, but it's a sticky mess. Makes my hair hard, tacky and dry feeling all at the same time. If you don't use a lot then maybe it wont be as bad, but that defeats the purpose of heat protectant. You want to apply it liberally to coat your strands. The nozzle also sucks. It gets jammed and it leaks. It's really difficult to spray. The only thing about this product is the candy-like perfume scent. Other than that it serves no purpose for me. I'll stick to the tresemme one. It makes my hair shiny, smooth and keeps my curls flexible and soft. This kenra one was so disappointing. Their silkening gloss is nice though!kelly.e
