I've had laser hair removal completed in a dermatologist office multiple times (4-6x each at different offices over many years), I've also owned several at home devices. Nothing has ever worked long-term. I've owned my tria for almost a year and a half. It has changed my life. On my neck, chin and upper lip I have seen a 98% decrease in hair growth. Consistency is key. It is difficult in the beginning but it gets much easier and less painful as the laser decreases the amount of hair growth over time. I started using a topical lidocaine but after around 4 treatments I no longer needed it. Now I use weekly for maintenance and it takes maybe 2 minutes in the morning to just zap and move on with my day. I use it every week. I am now working on my arms and legs. So I’ve never actually heard of an IPL machine until I started researching ways to reduce hair growth, smooth skin for longer etc and after reading up online, the Lumea was the product that was well know and the most talked about and liked product. I received the Lumea Advanced and it looked so classy and extremely well made, I read through the instructions and did my test site 24 hours before. First session – the instructions are clear and for the device and what it does, it’s very easy to use, I found when I am doing the treatment I have to reduce the intensity when I get to my knee caps and my ankles, it’s a very bizarre sensation at times but does not hurt at all, I did struggle up my shin bone as I have quite thin legs but I just turned the Lumea length ways and it’s seems to have worked fine. Afte the first session i already noticed a drastic change in hair growth, I only have to shave my underarm twice in the first 2 weeks and my legs once’s, I wasn’t expecting miricales but I was very surprised with the outcome after one treatment. It becomes difficult at times to get in the right position and get all areas but over time you learn and get in a flow/routine. Second Session – I felt the second session was a lot easier than the first session, as I knew what to expect and I also had mastered the art of using the Lumea and the angles to hold it at to ensure all areas were covered, again with the intensity I reduced by 1 around the ankle and the kneecap area. This time round I haven’t seen any drastic change, so shaved armpits 3 times and legs once. I’m due to do my 3rd treatment in 2 days and I’m excited to see the final result. This is the first time I have used a hair removal device. I have always shaved or used cream which didn’t really suit my skin. I have been using the product for over 6 weeks now on a bi weekly basis as per instructions. There are 5 settings that you can play around with until you get the right one for your skin. The skin tone sensor will prevent you from using too high a setting which is a great built in feature, I did have to go down a setting on occasion when the sensor picked up a change in my skin tone. So far, I have used on my legs and underarms building up the confidence to use in other areas. The small lightweight gun shaped design is easy to use and manoeuvre with a decent length cord to allow movement up and down the leg. Once you select the correct window attachment for the area (there are 3) you simply press the window on to the skin, wait for the light to let you know it is ready to go and press the button before moving on to the next area. You do have to keep track of the areas you have flashed but for larger areas you can press and hold for continuous pulses. There is a very bright flash to let you know it has delivered the pulse and although not painful, you are aware it has connected with the skin. After the first use, I didn’t think anything was happening but I noticed a real difference after the second use. I could also see where I had missed small areas but that is down to my inexperience of using this kind of device. By week 6 and the 3rd use, there was a definite improvement and although not silky smooth, there was perhaps 70% clear and I intend to keep going perfecting my use of the device. On a side note, this is not to be used on the eyebrows but it comes with a separate facial hair trimmer which can be used for this area which is a great addition. I've been using it for 3 weeks. Once a week and I have noticed significant hair regrowth. There's a few here and there and this week was like a couple. So I can honestly say the product works. I’ve been shaving my legs and underarms since before I even had much hair growing there, racing towards trying to be a grown up. I thought shaving meant you were grown up, until I used the razor in the wrong direction on my leg and removed a nice chunk of skin. I kept my bikini line trimmed and then eventually took it all off, when I went into a relationship. But it’s the continuous upkeep, particularly if your other half appreciates the smooth look, so I was excited and apprehensive to try this. I’ve also been suffering from what I expect is either ingrown hairs or some other skin thing over the last little while, which are leaving behind some stubborn scarring.First of all, I’ve never tried any kind of laser treatment before, so I was nervous. I read the instruction manual (and then read it again and again) and thanked the lord I wasn’t a redhead.This is the full kit and caboodle. You have a pretty comprehensive instruction manual, which for a first time user, needs to be read and studied first – because even in the first couple of read throughs, I missed the fact that there was a manual (which I tried the first couple of times) and a continuous option (which I did on my third session.)My first thought when I opened the package and saw the device, was that it wouldn’t look out of place on Star Trek. In fact, I’m pretty sure Shatner used this exact device for other matters in those days. (It’s also a nice shade of green.) It’s bulkier than I was expecting and quite heavy too.The box comes with two Gillette razors, goggles, the adapter and a fairly lengthy cord, the instruction manual and two additional heads for the device which go on and come off easily. The only thing I’ve really noticed is my jeans feel a bit odd against my legs afterwards, but it’s hard to describe and again, nothing that would put me off using this.Why have I not done this before, I’ve been finding myself asking? If you go to a salon, it’s expensive and these at home kits are cheaper but you’re still forking out for them. For me, having experienced no discomfort, and so far, great results, I really wish I’d chucked my razors/electric razors/epilator a while ago, and jumped into this. The aim is to be hair free from the underarms to the ankles in the next few weeks and even then, I will only need to maintain every 4-8 weeks. For me, this has been the easiest and pain free experience that I’ve had with hair removal and I almost can’t wait for my next session. Highly recommended.
To start off my review I’d like to explain but I’m not the kind of person who would usually buy a couple hundred dollar laser removal machine off the Internet. I was really surprised when I opened it that the packaging was so easy and that the user manual was so detailed so I knew exactly what I needed to do. The packaging inside the box and the user manual answered all of my questions and made it really easy for me to determine my skin type in order to work with the laser. My favorite part about packaging is the fact that it came with literally everything I need. Laser vocals check. Razor check. Cleaning cloth Check.Skin testing:This is my first review after trying day one skin testing according to the manual. I’m somebody who is going to reread and reread again to user manual until I’ve memorized the instructions because I don’t want to be unsure of what I’m doing and do some kind of irreversible mistake. This was my greatest fear and at first I was worried because I did not see any of the icons that were on the manual but as soon as I put my goggles on and I plugged the adapter in I was able to see all of the icons and see everything super clearly to the point where I knew that after having just read the instructions maybe only once or twice I would’ve been able to very quickly and easily understand. I definitely worried for no reason but I also believe that it’s better to be safe than sorry. I tried the skin testing exactly like what the user manual said which is going up three levels and seeing what you can tolerate while going down the leg. I did 24 hours nothing happened that was abnormal! I am so happy and excited that during this pandemic time I won’t have to go out of my home to get laser hair removal. The way that I would describe the sensation at level six which is my highest level is a moderate flick. In fact it doesn’t hurt at all to the point where I am concerned about whether this will actually remove hair long term. For now it’s amazing that there is a cooling future inside of it and so there’s literally no pain. I’m hoping to update my review post regular treatment with any updates as to how well my hair is being removed and the long term effects!

Haven't had a chance to see the results yet. Had done 2 treatments, no changes. Product stopped delivering flashes. It works sporadically, on and off.. Works fine the first 5 minutes and then it doesn't flash. Then decides to work next two minutes, then nothing again, frustrating. It beeps that it's ready for the flash, but when the button is pressed the flash does not happen. Not overheating either.. Would like a replacement. I want to give it a chance to work past 2 treatments. Haven't tried the face treatments at all yet. Shipping the product back tomorrow to get a replacement. I bought this less than two weeks ago and it stopped working. I used it a few times with no problems and then yesterday it started beeping and would not work. I thought it needed to cool down even though it was only on for a few minutes so I shut it down for a while. I plugged it into a different outlet and turned it on and when I tried to use it and there was no 'zap' and then it started beeping again. Yes, I passed the skin tone sensor so that was not the issue. The manual said I should call customer service, but honestly, I don't need the hassle-not for something so expensive. I returned it today at BBB with no problem. I am just going to spend my money on professional laser hair removal at my derm's office. Honestly, beware of this product.
