As others have noted, the power switch WILL eventually fail. I have several tools by this company that work great. The R&D person who decided a .50 cent pressure switch would be a good addition to this should be flogged immediately. Within weeks of owning, I started experiencing issues. I use this all the time and didn’t want to wait to ship back and forth the product but it finally died completely at the switch. Customer Support isn’t great with these guys. Seems they have one person who answers phones. Maybe they should consider a second person to help with the call volume. I’d rate higher if the replacement process wasn’t as terrible as this power switch.Buzz112233
I was looking for a powerful cordless leaf blower/mulcher, particularly the mulcher cause leaves cannot always just be blown away and must be picked up and removed from the ground. This one fit my needs and can say it performs just as well as my chorded electric blower/mulcher without the hassle if the chord. Runtime is plentiful with the 4.0ah battery. I get about 20 minutes running at full power which is recommended for the mulcher function. Enough to fill the bag up once or twice, more if you’re just mulching down an organized pile of leaves. I can’t understand why the more powerful leaf blowers are not incorporating the mulcher function.Robert D
I bought the blower because I already have a chainsaw, polesaw and string trimmer. All the batteries are interchangeable. I really like the chainsaw and have no complaints on the polesaw. The string trimmer is okay. About the blower- delivery was lousy (fed-ex) they left it in the driveway near the road in the rain at night, I found it in the morning. The blower was a bit smaller than I thought it was going to be but it works fine and easy to handle and use. I would have preferred a round blower tube instead of a rectangle for ease of attachments. I can't say it's better or worse the the competition but it decent and I am happy with it.Bryan B

I bought this Dec 1, 2014 and in ensuing 4 years of warranty the unit had to be replaced 6 times! The hi/low switch usually failed first, followed by the on/off switch. Each time I had to wait 3 – 4 weeks for the replacement unit. I replaced the 6th time just before the warranty expired a little over a year ago, and this 7th unit also lost its on/off switch a couple of months ago. I noted from my experience with replacing failed units that if I used the unit for mulching that the switch would fail much sooner. So with the last unit I NEVER used the mulcher, and the unit's on/off switch still failed in less than one year. Since I had also invested in the mower and edger/week wacker and can share the batteries, I'm INSANELY considering buying a new blower with another 4 year warranty, since I do not want to have to get new batteries for the 60 or 80 volt versions and the other cheaper 40 volt version is a joke for blowing capacity. In general the blower is great, as I have other GreenWork tools it is very comvenient to be able to purchase the tool only as you can significantly save on a battery. This blower works perfec for leaves and grass remainders left by your mower or trimmer. The power boost is very convenient and in general the blower is easy to operate and lightweight. I would like the blower had a trigger type action button rather than a push button so it would stop as you release the triigger rather than pushing the power button each time, it is just my personal preference. This is an excellent blower, especially for decks, garage, walkways and smaller outdoor spaces. My wife likes it because of its power to weight ratio, which is easy to hold. I’ve tried the vacuum function a few times and it works really well for leaves, though it creates a lot of dust and associated twigs tend to plug it up. This unit doesn’t move enough air for blowing really large surfaces. I have a Greenworks 60V backpack blower for larger surface areas of our property.JHG333

as previously noted, motor is powerful and picks up wet leaves easily; but the vacuum is not designed for more than very casual use. It takes 4-5 full bags to fill a normal paper leaf bag, to the point of gathering leaves for 3 minutes, empty the bag for five minutes. Although there is a clip at the front, it does not stay clipped. Attaching the bag to the device is difficult, and not as easy as one would hope when you have to empty it so often. When the bag is unzipped you have to pull all the leaves by hand. Suggestion: include a much bigger accessory bag, or a feature to empty right into a waste bag.
We live in Albuquerque, NM. Landscaping here is typical for the southwest but very different than the rest of the country. We are only allowed a small patch of grass, desert plants and the rest is landscape gravel. Leaves and other debris settle into the gravel along with the dirt that blows in. I bought this unit to vacuum out all the debris that has accumulated in the gravel. I had to dig the end of the tube into the gravel to loosen the debris, which worked. What I hadn't anticipated was how much dirt would get sucked in as well (this vacuum really sucks!). I had to work about a 6' square area at a time then empty the bag. All the dirt destroyed the zipper the first day. I wasn't surprised or upset because the zipper was too small for handling this amount of dirt and this unit wasn't built for this application. I got around the zipper by folding that side of the bag over twice and using 5 spring clamps to hold it closed. All-in-all I have been impressed with this unit especially considering it was built to suck leaves off a lawn and not sucking dirt and heavy amounts of dead twigs out of gravel. If I was sucking leaves and twigs off of a lawn, I would give it 5 stars.TBAIII

Manual labor would be easier and more efficient than this. The process of blowing leaves is slow and requires several passes and a healthy individual could shovel leaves into the bin faster than this will pick them up. For over $200 there are many better products you could be getting. The only upside is that you don't need to run an extension cord. When this is the alternative, though, an extension cord would be preferable.shawntw
I know it's a sweeper, not a full blown leaf blower. But this works like a hair dryer. I have been in 100 mph winds and I just didn't see anything special with this sweeper's 120 mph claim. Including holding the forced air against my face. I am a truck driver and need to sweep out my trailer everyday. So I bought this one. However, it could barely move a nail from a broken pallet–on the highest setting, with the blower 2 inches away from the nail. It also had difficulty moving typical small pieces of wood and plastic, small torn off pieces of plastic wrap, the wood pieces about 1"- 4". It could not move a broken bag of dog food at all. I had to use my broom. It does well with dust, or extremely light material, that is not sticky. The sweeper is light. Very easy to hold and use. The battery took about an hour to charge and held its charge well. I used the highest setting for blowing because the lowest settings was absolutely ineffectual. I would not recommend this sweeper even for grass shavings on your sidewalk or driveway. Walmart's money back was very easy, and I put that toward a better unit.James
It is under powered for both vacuuming and blowing. If there is any moisture on the leaves or grass trimming, the unit will not blow them away or pick them up. The tube must be touching what ever you are trying to pick up or blow away. It's is faster to rack the leaves up and pick up by hand. Also if you hold the unit in your right hand the unit will suck your lose clothing into the blower grill, so you have to hold it away from clothing, making it uncomfortable to hold. It is also hard to clean out the area where the blower fan is after you take the grill off, leaves get caught in this area.Paul

I have been enjoying my Troy-Bilt blower immensely. I have previously owned an electric blower and most recently a battery powered blower. We have an oversized lot and blow off all sidewalks, patios, etc. after every mowing as well as leaves in the fall months. The blower was easy to put together – just snap on the blower tube and you are done! The instructions for starting are right there on the machine and easy to follow, in addition the pull cord is easy and you won’t throw your back out trying to get this one going. I am really impressed with the power this offers compared to what I was using before, it really cut my work time down by a lot. Most importantly, I absolutely love that the blower speed is controlled by how hard you press the trigger. I have some landscape areas that I need a lighter touch on (gravel areas). I would say the only con is that it’s a bit heavier than I am used to, but that is easily counteracted by the shorter work time I now have. Switching from electric to a gas blower, I am really surprised at how simple and easy this particular blower is to use. The lightweight design makes it much easier to handle and carry around. I was very impressed with the quickness in the pull start. I didnt have to repeatedly pull it to start. The spring assist technology in this blower is a fantastic upgrade with it firing right up. The blowing capacity is very nice and it works so well at getting the job done. I really like the design and it not being so heavy allowing me to move around more freely. Bought this in April 2022, didn't start using it until May. I used it one day in October 2022 and came back to use it the next when the leaves started falling heavy. It would no longer start up. The primer bulb appears to be the issue. Or one of the lines. I contacted Troy-bilt due to it being within warranty time frame. Troy-bilt told me to take it to a company they work with that could service it. Took it Smitherman's in NC. Smitherman's told us it would be a $50 deposit in case the problem wasn't covered under warranty. They also said it could be used to cover the labor even if it was covered under warranty. They then refused to provide what is or isn't covered under warranty. On a $100 blower, paying $50 or more isn't even worth it. I will not be buying another one of these and probably not another Troy-bilt blower as this is some trash coverage. When it works, the blower works just fine for what I have. Not worth buying a new one every six months.KP

There is always anxiety when purchasing a tool online. Plastic durable enough and electric is nice for small yard jobs. I watered my grass with the leaves, 30 minutes later turned the suction on and it exceeded my expectations as far as performance. Strong enough to catch leaves but not the rocks where the leaves are. Shoulder strap is rather hard to get comfortable as well as there not being a longer handle to hold with your opposite hand. I love the function and give it 5 stars because of effectiveness. Does need a better structural design. Frail people will find this heavy and even strong one armed individuals will feel it after 30 minutes of carrying this unit. Well worth the money! This is a strange machine – it blows, shreds, and sucks, but not as strong as a dedicated blower or vacuum. I wanted it to help clean up my parking lot at my office and it does that, but it is not a heavy duty machine. Its size and shape make it a bit awkward to hold on my shoulder with a heavy jacket on and the collection bag does not hold much, so you have to empty it often. It is a good value, but if you are trying to suck up or blow all the leaves on your property, it would not be your first choice. I liked the shredder feature since it make a pile of leaves into mulch that did not take up much space.stuartite

This is my first vacuum mulcher after many years of raking and cleaning up my yard. The leaves on my property fall primarily on rocks so as I used the WG509 for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that I could grab leaves (even wet leaves) with this vacuum from an uneven surface. The resulting mulch was fine-grained and what used to take well over a half-dozen bags fit in two. But it gets better. I also have a lot of zebra grass that need to be cleaned up. I'm not saying this vacuum can or should mulch tall (8') grasses after cutting them down but after taking a few passes on them with my lawn mower, the dry grasses were appropriately sized for this machine to handle, I was able to mulch a dozen pretty large plants into 3 garbage bags. I wasn't expecting this so I'm pleased to have the versatility. The metal mulching components work well. The vacuum isn't too heavy for most folks. You can cover a normal suburban backyard in a few minutes. The bag is handy, about the right size and the zipper enclosure is solid. You just need to adjust the handle length so it can be slung over your shoulder. Having a cord to navigate isn't always ideal but I imagine the weight of a battery on this machine would make it hard to lug around. I used the blower occasionally to loosen up clumps of leaves. I already have a lighter weight battery-powered blower that is easy to maneuver but having the blowing option on this tool is handy as its one less tool to get out. I'll probably use this vacuum twice a year – late fall and early spring so I'm hoping it will last a good long time.Haig
I did not realize this product can only be used with an electric plug. I tried to return it but when you snap the two pieces together for assembly it is impossible to detach for return shipment. I did not realize it was only powered by an electric cord until I assembled it. So I would have had to pay for another long box, and more $$ for postage on the size if I wanted to return it since I would not use original box. My friend who is an engineer tried to get it apart and said that mfg.'s sometimes do this intentionally so that it is hard to disassemble and return – Hence the 2 star review. I would never buy a product like this again on QVC. Now I am stuck with an electric blower and it is useless to me. After reviewing several similar leaf blower/vac products, I decided on this particular product do to its versatility and ease in switching from leaf blowing to leaf vacuum. Our previous leaf blower/vacs required a complete removal and reattachment of the blower bag and motor inlet screen housing in order to establish the vacuum function. This inconvenience was time consuming and cumbersome due to the added need to hand carry the additional parts to enable switching from one cycle to the other, e.i. blower mode to vacuum mode. The "Worx TRIVAC WG509" eliminates this added requirement do to its convenient on board diversion lever which allows switching from one mode (Blowing) to another (Vacuum) while leaving the vacuum bag attached if desired. The vacuum bag is also easily attached and/or removed by a simple but secure squeeze connector slide which forms conveniently into the palm of your hand. No twisting, pushing or annoying pins to remove or keep track of. The dual service steel impeller is also the best idea I've seen in a blower/Vac in years. (It will most likely out last the blower itself) My few complaints would be it that it may feel a little heavy for a young child or prolonged use of an hour or more. Another issue may be that the blower nozzle (the lower/shorter section of the blower housing outlet) may appear somewhat short and take some getting use to in order to adequately move leaves for corners and along the fence line out into the open where they can be vacuumed up. The last issue is that the on/off switch may be difficult to operate with simply your thumb. I was able to alleviate this by spraying some silicone spray onto the thumb switch which made the plastic slide section slide back and forth much easier. (I will also add that the variable motor speed control is a very nice feature) CAUTION NOTE: (Be certain to unplug the power cord from any electrical outlet(s) prior to attempting any repairs and/ or cleaning operations.) Other than these few minor items, I would highly recommend this product for its versatility, ease of bag installation and removal, its well built construction and powerful motor. This is my third WORX tool I have the WORX GT , and a WORX Chain Saw, Both 20V battery. Keep in mind this TRIVAC is "Corded" Electric. Now….This has enough power to blow a tree down so you don't have to worry about the leaves ….But for sure this has plenty of power , Now keep in mind it is pretty heavy…they don't advertise it as light weight but it is heavier than I anticipated it being. I intended to use this as a "Vacuum" more than a "Blower" as leaves are one of the best things to put on your garden. As I said it has plenty of power and chops the leaves very fine. The bag fills up fast and get heavy quick but that's just the way it has to be. All in All …Another fine product from WORX.khnarry
bulky, heavy. the nozzle? if you want to call it that doesnt blow debris unless you are right on top of it. the motor is heavy and the tool in itself is so unbalanced that its hard to use it as a sweeper. I used to use my old blower, different brand, to clean my car interior and boat and this one is very ineffective for that. Its to heavy to use on a ladder to clean my gutters. It does a pretty good job at mulching leaves that are raked in a pile, but to use as a vacuum, forget it. once again, ANOTHER Worx product that just doesnt work for me. Im done with this brandlg34c
This is my second WORX Blower/Mulcher Vacuum. The first one, which I had for about 5 years, was great except the connection point knob for the bag broke because of the constant twisting and locking feature so I had to put a screw in its place. This model is a much better design with a press and push locking mechanism for the bag. It makes it much easier to remove the bag too. In addition, the mulch/vacuum lever is a much better design too. Again, it's very easy to use. The blower feature performs equally well as the old model, but the mulching is much better. Probably because of the metal blades. The improvements were a great adjustment making this model the best on the market. The only thing I'm not happy about is the plastic cord locking aspect. It works fine, but the cord coming from the WORX could be a bit longer. Regardless, this a great WORX product and I recommend it. It make short work in yard clean ups. By the way, my old model was still working fine when I gave it away. WORX still makes the older model, but if you looking for a blower/mulcher vacuum I recommend this model.VW Man

This tool is awesome. The mulcher/vacuum tool is the best part by far – 6 out of 5 stars. The blower works well as any other blower – it just takes some practice to master the art of blowing leaves so that you just aren't blowing leaves all around. I have not as yet mastered this and used it in conjunction with my rake to keep everything in order. Blower – 4.5 out of 5 stars. The gutter cleaning tool was very effective. I have a few hard to reach places on my roof and was able to clean it all. I did have a few problems with this functionality – the way the extension attached to the main tool (this rotating click type of fit) was not 100% secure, so while in use, it detached a few times. Be sure to follow instructions and cover up, – it is a super messy job. Thanks to COVID, I used my face shield and it was 100% necessary. In the end, my gutters were clean and I did not have to call anyone to do them for me. Gutter cleaner 3.5 our of 5 stars So on average 4.666 stars rounds up to 5, hence my 5 star rating. My yard is 7k square feet give or take; and each time i used the vacuum, my hours to complete was 5hrs 1st time, 4hrs 2nd time, after more leaves came down in the backyard. The use of this machine is tedious. The small bag tore first use, as the stitching in my opinion required thicker thread and NOT regular clothing thread. Good news, it's warrantied 2 yrs by snowjoe. Other issue, 2nd 4hr use, the big bag connection at top of bag was blowing dust from suction. Given the lengthy project time, I had to take breaks. Suction is just ok. Got this just needing to clean my gutters once. It was awesome!!! It cleaned my gutters out in half the time or faster and I only needed to climb ladder to verify they were truly empty (they were). Next, I attached vacuum side and mulched up blown out leaves, then proceeded to mulch up leaves that had accumulated around my entire house. Had the place looking spring-time spotless in about 45 minutes and used the mulch to cover my garden bed for fall. This was money well spent. I ONLY gave it 4 stars due to minor drawback, I would suggest manufacturer upgrade unit to add a blower eave elbow "lock" to keep it from spinning, but the inconvenience was minor. Unit had plenty of vacuum power, but not so much it sucked up rocks, just the things I wanted. Blower works better than my 20 volt cordless. Cleaned driveway in no time. This leaf blower is very powerful and even helped clean up wet leaves piled up from last fall. The gas tank is pretty small, so it needs to be refilled a lot, but if it were any bigger, the blower would be too heavy. I had the first generation of this Blower lasted almost 14 years with only one full $79.00 remodel 5 years ago. Bought it for the HP 205. The old one blew every thing out of the park and sucked up leaves big time with no jam except for twigs. Opened the box last week read the instruc, put in some gas primed it 8 times and then pulled the cord. The cord pulled so damn easy I fell back on the ground and it just ran like crazy. Used it twice same effect, smooth easy pull and it started on the first pull. The configuration on the leaf vacuum is totally different don' t like it but all of them are constructed the same way. this blower starts pretty easily, has reasonably light weight, doesn't run extremely hot and is great on fuel consumption. I have not used the vac attachments yet but I am confident they will work well. the blower output is good and very controllable. the one thing I dislike about the unit is the length of the blower tube, I think it should be longer. unit feels very balanced and solid in your hands, overall I like it.26yds41
