Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s
I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. I haven't reviewed anything on here yet, but this product really seems worth a review. I have an annoying combination skin that both gets dry/flaky AND oily/shiny. This moisturizers works like a charm, giving my skin hydration and controlling shine on my nose. I have no idea how they formulate this product to achieve this monumental task, but they somehow managed to do it. I used to be able to only control the shine on my nose by putting on powder, but with this moisturizer, I don't even need to put on any powder, and my nose still does not get excessively shiny. I highly recommend this for anyone who is struggling with shiny skin due to oil. Also, I noticed that, in the winter, when the air is particularly dry, this moisturizer doesn't give quite enough moisture, so now I complement it with the FAB Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration at night. That gives my skin the extra moisture at night, and then I use this product in the morning. Together, they give my skin enough hydration in the winter while still controlling the shine. I know I sound like some sort of paid spokesperson, but this is just me being excited about a line of products that actually works for my skin.Luce
I'm really enjoying this product. It does what it says, moisturizes while controlling oil. My skin gets even more oily when I'm not wearing makeup and I hate the way it feels. I can go a day without makeup with this product and it's really nice. It definitely provides a light moisture too. I get dryness around my eyes and mouth and nose. If you let this fully dry before applying makeup, you'll be fine. Primer is a key factor as well. I use a the smash box matte primer. If you need more moisturizer, just use a moisturizing primer for dry areas and you'll be good. Worth a try.MR
I have an extremely oily complexion and never thought i could keep my oil under control throughout the day while also keeping my skin hydrated until i tried this moisturizer. For reference, without this moisturizer my skin turns into a grease bucket after 15 minutes of washing and this moisturizer makes my complexion look completely normal for about 4-8 hours depending on my skin that day. Once my face starts to build up a bit of oil after many hours, i can just pat it off and be good for another couple hours before patting any oil off again. Lasts a full days wear. I also find when i dont use this moisturizer my acne and blackheads start coming out and also my pores become bigger without it, showing just how much it actually helps my acne/blackhead prone and large pored-skin. I hope they never discontinue this moisturizer otherwise i will never be able to make my skin complexion look as normal as this makes it throughout the day. Also this is also super moisturizing for my skin surprisingly and i never dry out from it. The product actually does exactly what it says it does which is control oil and moisturize which is rare for a product to really live up to all of its claims. I see reviews here that say it’s too drying and give a bad review for the rating to go down, which frustrates me because it’s really meant for moderately oily to extremely oily skin so of course it will be drying to less oily skin because it isnt meant for it. This is a lightweight serum that absorbs quickly and easily. It is very hydrating but not greasy. Slighty scented, so can be used often as needed and great for sensitive, combination, dry, and oily skin. This product does not leave any residue on your skin and quickly absorbed. It leaves the skin soft and suppel. So far I'm enjoying this serum and have used it for a few days due to receiving a sample size. After a few days I noticed immediate results. I read that you can see improvements after 6 to 12 weeks and I'm 9 days into using and see a significant difference. My skin is moisturized, youthful looking, and refreshing finish look. I came across this with the gift set. Initially I didn't like it as it leaves an oily look and I had a hard time prepping my face for make up. I realized the sample I got from the gift was for DRY SKIN. I have combo skin ( super oily in my T zone ). Because I wanted to try the Smart Line, I purchased the one for combination skin. This is an amazing moisturizer for combination skin and acne-prone skin! The texture was really nice and felt great on the skin; it's light but moisturizing and doesn't weigh the skin down (you'll forget you were wearing it!) My bottle has lasted quite a while which goes to say that a little goes a long way with this product! I will say because it doesn't have the thickest coverage, I'm not sure how this would fare with people with drier skin types, so I only used this at night before bed during the winter. This moisturizer is considered for sensitive skin that has a very lightweight texture, however, I have noticed that putting it on a damp skin can be really irritating, it burns the skin. So after cleansing your skin make sure it’s not damp to avoid burning sensation. My skin took a month and a half to adjust to it, however, I still sometimes get that burning sensation. Although I still cannot understand why it had that burning effect, my guess is probably a damaged skin barrier.. but who knows.. Also this moisturizer doesn’t have any specific scent, it’s fragrance free which is good for people with sensitive skin. And it is oil-free and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores. The texture is amazing and feels heavenly, it's like a whipped cream. And is quite heavy (in a good way). But unfortunately, it irritated the sensitive parts of my face, but then again my skin is pretty reactive. Maybe I used too much? (I used two pea sizes.) I love this moisturizer! I came across it on a YouTube video while looking for hydrating moisturizers. I have combination skin and my skin feels so hydrated after using this. It’s important to note that I pair this with the Laniege hyaluronic revitalizing toner which is also very hydrating. I also use an exfoliating cleanser, Paula’s Choice vitamin C serum and Innisfree sunscreen during the day. I use the moisturizer at night as well with other products. Love the combo! I barely have any breakouts and the ones I’ve had healed sooo fast.Gbemsss

I received a sample of this lotion and tried it only to get a terrible itchy rash all over my face and neck (exactly where I used this lotion) about a day later! The rash got progressively worse over the course of another day. I've never had a reaction like this to a skincare product. This is the only new product I've tried recently, though I've used all sorts of things over the years. I suspect this is some kind of allergic reaction; the only allergy I have that I know of is a mild one to shellfish (iodine dye). I suspect the algae ingredients, possibly Ahnfeltiopsis Concinna Extract, may be involved here but am not sure. I've used other products with marine ingredients and had no issues. I'm still dealing with the rash and itch now, and relieved only that it's a pandemic so I can legitimately not leave my house until it clears up. After paying a great amount of money on this moisturiser and using it up in a few short months, I decided to unscrew the top to try and scrape some more product out. Boy was I fooled. Only the top squeeze part actually contains the product, and the other 3/4 of the container is empty and just an illusion, tricking us to think we get a whole container of product. A literal scam, and so expensive for the tablespoon of product you get.claire621
Please be careful before you use this on your face. Test on small patch of skin first. So I used this on my face for a few days and had no reaction. The following week I applied it to my neck. OMG I never had such a bad rash in my entire life. I had to go to the doctor for a prescription. I do have sensitive skin but this was a first for me. Just be careful.Amber

This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. And if you’re like me, struggling to find a cream that actually absorbs and feels like it’s helping soothe your dry skin, then you might want to consider this one!!
La Roche Posay Effaclar Matt Daily moisturizer is a great product. I love all products from this brand but especially this one. My oily skin looks perfect after using it, and it’s stays the same for entire day. It’s very gentle and do not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin.I’ve been using this for over 5 years or so and I can tell it’s irreplaceable. The best drugstore moisturizer ever. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! (I tried this brand before about 5 years ago, and it didn’t help me, maybe another cream). I advise everyone! I heard a lot about this Bioderma product over the years, have used some other products from the range and liked them, but never had a chance to test it out myself so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the Marie Claire box. I have a combination skin and my favourite face cream/treatment is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + and I love it to such an extent that it would be my only desert Island item. Therefore, my expectations were high.\nI must say I was a fan of a lightweight formula, somewhat lotion like. It has a delicate scent, very pleasant and subtle. The cream spreads like a dream on the skin and is absorbed in seconds. It does give a smooth and matte finish, I didn't detect any nasty film either. The skin fels soft and looks mattified. Pores might look a little less visible but I am a sceptic when I read that something will refine my pores… it might fill them in so they look less prominent, but I do not really believe in magic. \nWhat I noticed though is that Bioderma Pore Refiner does keep the skin matte for longer ( compared to a regular moisturiser). A definite plus is a fact that it does seem to refine the skin texture, it does smooth out the skin and it doesn't clog the pores ( I know, it should be self evident but believe me or not I have used anti acne products that cause acne).\nMy problem with this product is that I m not exactly sure whether it is a kind of a moisturiser, a treatment or just a kind of primer. When used on its own I saw the best results, and in my opinion it is good to use it at night but then we do not really need the mattifying effect.\nWhen used with other products I am not sure when to apply it / before or after a moisturiser, before or after an spf? It also might cause a bit of a trouble as it doesn't agree with some make up primers and foundations. In that case, I just didn't use any primer, treated Pore refiner as one and opted for a compatible foundation.\nAll in all, I think I get the idea of this product, I think it works pretty well but there are some little disadvantages that make me stay faithful to Effaclar Duo + making the Bioderma affair only temporary.\nAnita R.
I was blessed enough to be given the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner by Home Tester Club for my honest review. This is an Amazing product that has completely transformed my my entire face, and especially my T-zone. I have suffered from very large pores and blackheads on my oily nose and chin my entire life. This is by far the BEST Pore Refining Product I have ever used. My pores are so small I now have the confidence to go out without makeup. When I did put on my makeup my face was so soft, smooth and improved my foundation blended so easily my face was flawless . It is a "Must Have" to add to your skincare routine if you have any of these issues: blackheads, large pores, acne and/or oily skin. The results are amazing and I had no irritation to it whatsoever. I highly recommend and will definitely be adding this to my skincare regimen permanently. If you are unsure of whether or not to purchase this, go ahead. You will be so glad you did.Willow1936
I was lucky enough to score a sample of #Biodermaporerefiner with one of the boxes I received from #Pinchme. Yes! I can say all that positive stuff about it now but. .. seeing that I don't normally use this type of product, nor did I believe it would actually show signs of having any effectiveness to improve whatever imperfection it was made for. Throughout my many years of experience, trying every new miracle product that came out over the last 4 decades, I found that most of the products that are the type to have all the different individual treatments for every specific need, are the ones that really don't work that great so they try to make their money by getting ppl to try several different types of treatments on the first sale. I always, swore by how strongly I personally felt that all you really needed is a good washing technique with a gentle cleanser, exfoliate once or twice a week, avoid too much sun, eat healthy and use one really good moisturizer at night as a daily routine. .So, I bet you can probably guess how stupid this "old miss thinks I know it all" feels now😂 Yes! I ended up being quite shocked when Bioderma proved me wrong after all these yrs lol. Having a very pale complexion, you see every imperfection on my skin, my pores stand out almost as bad as my freckles. From the very first time, just mins after applying Bioderma, I could see a noticeable difference. Each day I used it my pores appeared smaller until they were barely noticeable at all (even when I was purposely looking for them in a magnifying mirror). It also seemed to get rid of my most recent issue of being disfigured looking from having an outbreak of reversed puberty (thank you!!!) Seriously!?!? Come on now!!! This Ain't Even right !! Why in the world am I getting zits now that I'm in my Golden Years when I've never had any problems with them. before, not even in my teenie bopper years! Anyway, thank you Bioderma for clearing up the zits all over my face., having my face smelling so good, making my skin feel so baby soft and not greasy at all and making my pores unnoticeable.. Oh!!! When I first started using this moisturizer a few years ago I loved it. My recent purchase of this moisturizer hasn't been the best. I'm not sure if an ingredient has been added but I'm even more oily after I apply it. I started having continuous breakouts all over my face (cheeks, jawline, between eyebrows & forehead) for a month. I thought it was stress and other things. I decided to eliminate this product from my skincare routine just to see if it would help. My skin immediately started clearing up. I believe it's a good product just not for oily, sensitive & acne prone skin. I also noticed my make-up looking terrible by the end of the day. In the morning it would be fine, during mid-day I look like a oil stick. Today was my second day not using it under my makeup & my face is not oily at all & it still looks fresh! My pores no longer feel clogged! I still love the Farmacy brand & will continue to purchase other skincare items! I'm just praying my review will help you all come up with another moisturizer that's a little lighter, less clogging of the pores and less fragrances and ingredients.
The new formula ruined this moisturizer for me. I had a subscription and was obsessed with the original formula. The smell was the most amazing and refreshing scent. I always felt like I was transported to a tropical island, and applying it was my favorite part of my skincare routine. The scent just lifted me up and relaxed me. Now, the new formula has zero scent. The whole experience is non-existent for me as a result. The original formula also just felt better on my skin overall. I could even apply it right over and around my eye area, and never experienced any irritation. It actually helped soothe my eyes. The new formula burns! I’m so disappointed that the formula was changed so drastically. I really just hate this moisturizer now. It’s nothing like the original, which was my holy grail and addiction for years. If you’ve ever found a moisturizer you truly love everything about, then you know the devastation of not being able to get it anymore and how hard it is to find a replacement. I wish they would’ve kept the original formula as at least another option, but it seems to be gone for good. Huge mistake, Farmacy. I will most likely be canceling my subscription for this moisturizer now. I’ve been an avid user for years. The formula was perfect and never broke out my sensitive skin. UNTIL they changed the formula. I just purchased a new package and to say the difference is huge is a massive understatement. Whereas previously the moisturizer perfectly absorbed into my skin and truly had the oil free dewy glow you want, the new one adds this weird layer on top of your skin that just….sits there. It’s kind of sticky like it hasn’t fully absorbed and, this sounds dramatic, but it feels like it’s clogging my pores immediately. Like when you use a bad sunscreen, or a bad lotion in a pinch, and when you sweat you can feel that layer of sweat trying to come out but can’t and it just feels gross? Yeah. That’s how it feels almost immediately and then subsequently the rest of the day. You’re just sitting there not sweating and your face can’t breath or dry feeling. It gets worse, especially if you do end up outside and sweating. Needless to say, my sensitive skin that I actually had under continuous control for almost two years now looks like a battle zone with all kinds of breakouts coming up even in areas I don’t usually get them, like my neck. Y’all, I’m telling you, skip this “upgraded” product. It had to be a change for money purposes because it was NOT for the benefit of the skin when they had a previously perfect product. i love this moisturizer! i have really sensitive and acne prone skin, and this moisturizer is the only one i can use consistently and not get acne as a result. it doesnt have a scent, and feels so nice on my face. i always keep this moisturizer in my bag and use it every single day, sometimes more than once. i even use it as a primer before i put my makeup on and it helps me achieve a great moisturized, dewy, and bright look!natalie
This sunscreen is the worst. I've tried it three or four times now, and every time it gets in my eyes and they end up burning, watery,and painful, even though I avoid the eye area, and sometimes hours later. I can't believe this is an offering from a premium brand like MB at this price point. It feels like I am putting regular for-your-body suntan lotion on my face. It's not particular greasy, but it does seem to just sit on your skin. There are countless better offerings for facial sunscreen out there. Cotz and Olay mineral are light years beyond this. I used this as a daily moisturizer after cleansing and using a toner. It absorbed into my skin well, and I loved the dewy way it made my skin look. I used the same small bottle for several months, so a little goes a long way! Unfortunately, it made my skin feel very congested, and my acne flared up. My pores were full of gunk, my face was really oily, and I started getting cystic acne on my face and neck. I quit using it three days ago and my skin has already calmed down immensely, and the cysts are going away. If you have skin that isn't acne-prone or is more dry, this could be great for you. Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s
I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. Ive been waiting to review this product because I just wasnt sure about it. If I could, Id give it 3.5 stars. Let me start by saying I have very problematic skin. My skin is super dry and easily irritated. A lot of moisturizers exacerbate my skin problems. I chose this because I thought the oil free formula might give my skin the breathing room it needs. Unfortunately, the product is refreshing but not at all moisturising. If my skin is dry and I apply it, my skin still looks dry and flaky a few minutes after application. It is necessary to use another moisturizer. Luckily, the dramatically different moisturising lotion came in a grab bag I purchased at the same time and I loved it. Ended up buying a large bottles as I was burning through the 50 ml.I use a hyaluronic acid serum under my moisturizer in the evenings, and the hydrating jelly feels a lot like that product. Indeed, hyaluronic acid is one of the key ingredients. If you think of this product as a serum, then its good bang for your buck. Or, if you have oily skin, this could definitely be a good product for you. Ive also tried applying it in the morning under my tinted moisturizer which works okay. However, the jelly does leave behind a slightly sticky residue that is more noticeable when other products are added on top. Giving it time to absorb before applying make up or another moisturizer helps.Anonymous
LISTEN I’ve tried DOZENS of moisturizers for my greasy, oily skin and this one is one of the only ones that doesn’t leave my skin looking like my face was just soaked in oil yet still hydrates and smoothens out my pores and texture. Not sticky at all and it just feels comfortable. Other moisturizers end up feeling greasy after 1-2 hours. This one just feels so clean and absorbs soooo well into the skin. I probably have the most oily skin in the world so trust me when I say this stuff actually controls oil it’s crazy. My skin is olive/tan with hyperpigmentation, acne scars from years ago, large pores, and horomonal acne…the most difficult skin to deal with especially around my period because I get a lot of hormonal breakouts (white heads and cysts). Trust me this stuff is amazing. Just for reference other moisturizers that have also worked for me are the neutrogena hydroboost gel and the drunk elephant peptide something. I have really oily skin and this moisturizing gel works for me. I was hesitant to try Clinique moisturizer again after having a horrible experience with the original lotion a few years ago (I broke out so badly I actually have a few small scars and bumps to this day). But this is very different from the lotion IMO. The gel texture is light and refreshing and doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin; also totally unscented. It’s not mattifying exactly but it doesn’t make extra shine. When I wake up my skin looks and feels soft, not super greasy like most night creams I have tried. I use the Sephora mattifying moisturizer on my face during the day and use this gel on my neck and the two small dry patches I have on my chin. So far this routine is working well for me and I’m really happy with it. I would recommend for oily skin, this comes in a small tube if you just want to try it out.sparkledragon

This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. And if you’re like me, struggling to find a cream that actually absorbs and feels like it’s helping soothe your dry skin, then you might want to consider this one!!
La Roche Posay Effaclar Matt Daily moisturizer is a great product. I love all products from this brand but especially this one. My oily skin looks perfect after using it, and it’s stays the same for entire day. It’s very gentle and do not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin.I’ve been using this for over 5 years or so and I can tell it’s irreplaceable. The best drugstore moisturizer ever. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! (I tried this brand before about 5 years ago, and it didn’t help me, maybe another cream). I advise everyone! This product has changed my mindset on skin care completely not only is this gel moisturizer so amazing feeling when putting it on, it absorbs so fast and leaves my face so hydrated but it has completely transformed my face texture wise, appearance wise, and helped me sooo much with my redness but also it has given me the confidence to love my skin with and without makeup! I've been using the Water Cream for years. I loved the lightweight formula. I applied it twice daily after washing my face. It easily glided onto my skin when I applied it and absorbed into my quickly making it a mess free application. My face felt hydrated and smooth afterwards without feeling weighed down with product. However, when I most recently re-purchased the Water Cream I immediately noticed that the consistently was different. The cream was no longer lightweight. It felt heavier and almost had a whipped texture to it. I really had to rub the product to work it into my skin, but eventually it felt like the smooth product so was used to so I chalked it up to me overthinking it. However, within a few hours my face felt itchy and when I was able to look in a mirror I saw tiny bumps all over my face. I immediately washed my face off and used a different moisturizer to try to soothe my face. I'm aware that people's skin changes over time and need to adjust their skincare regimen over time. But because the cream felt so drastically different I looked into it and Tatcha has confirmed that they "had some very minor ingredient changes to the ingredient list to make it comply with international regulations." I am so disappointed that they changed the formula without putting anything in their product description or on their packaging in a way that i found noticeable. To start it off, I don't have a terrible acne problem, but I have a terrible problem with picking at my face and making it worse. I found out about tatcha through an ipsy bag but somehow forgot about it after. I've been using PanOxyl for my acne recently and it's been working, but I started to think about my skin and the nourishment it needs. I know aging is normal but I'm about to be 27 and time feels like it's going by way to fast. I still feel young and I want to try to still look young to be honest. So I recently saw an ad on Instagram for Tatcha. I decided to buy the limited addition water cream and the mini rice polish for oily skin. Although pricy, when I received the packaging and letters, I was in awe with how Tatcha is supporting the futures of young girls/women with purchases. For someone who thinks about the world and the impact of everything, who can't complain about that? So I know you can't make pores disappear, I will say that using these products for a minute now made my pores appear a lot smaller and unclogged?. I'm amazed. Literally. After this I'm sure to use Tatcha in my longterm skin routine. THE ONLY THING I AM UPSET ABOUT — Is that I didn't take before and after pictures to show how serious I am about it. I've been trying out random skin products for the longest but I think tatcha is here to stay in my permanent routine. Ps to the wonderful Tatcha team, I know yall are trying to promote recycling with the prodcuts and I appreciate that… but for people who bought full size products for awhile and don't have much recycling options in the area, could we request future product in a biodegradable/small bag to just put back into our full size product containers? Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W
Still undecided on this one. While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. So for me at least, yes, it eliminates oil, but not for anywhere remotely close to 24 hours. Eight to ten hours, sure. The scent isn't offensive and doesn't linger on me, but I'd strongly prefer something unscented.BMcS
I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. But it DEFINITELY works better than any other moisturizer I have used before; nothing has met my needs as well.Seth

I think this may be my favourite unscented day moisturiser ever! As a Cosrx product it is super gentle and soothing on my dry, slightly sensitive skin, and it doesn't leave it sticky at all. You only need a little bit of it, and it absorbs very quickly. I think this is perfect for day-time use, but for the night something heavier would be better. I use this both before and after gym as well. I'm going to order my third jar of this product. I think this would be perfect for the summer especially. I received a sachet of this stuff as a free gift with my order a few orders ago and absolutely loved it so I purchased a full size product not long after. This gel cream is soooo soothing for my skin. Absorbs quickly and does not leave any greasy feeling after which is great for my mostly oily/combo skin. It soothes any redness on the face and has a nice cooling affect. Moisturizes and creates a nice skin barrier. I have very sensitive skin and this product does not irritate it. When I first received this COSRX Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel , I knew I had to feature it on #texturetuesday 😍. It is a soft light green gel that jiggles when you shake it. This is instantly cooling upon application which soothe redness, blemishes and sunburns or over heated skin. Once again, I have never felt any discomfort applying this on open or closed acne. This cream belongs in the same line as the toner packed with Vitamin B5 (D-panthernol), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract and Allantoin. I would say it's geared towards normal to oily skin. People who have drier skin can try Moisture Power Enriched Cream from the same line. . This gel cream is fast absorbing with just a few taps. Similar to the toner, this leaves a protective film that is non sticky locking in hydration. To me, I did not detect a scent what so ever. I think this is a perfect gel cream for the summer months. Since using this whole skincare line, I have noticed my enlarged pores on my cheeks have been gone. I haven't seen anything that has helped me with this issue. I have ridiculously oily skin. I’m talking about so-oily-you could cook-with-the-amount-of-oil-on-my-face, and it really didn’t do anything to keep the oil away. The Southern California humidity isn’t as bad as in some other places, but still. I’m pretty bummed because Caudalie usually has some pretty good products and I’m always looking for ways to mattify my skin. It also took me a while to figure out the best way to put this on. Upon application, I loved how lightweight it felt and how quickly it absorbed and didn’t leave a sticky feeling. However, one should never leave the house without SPF, so I experimented with ways to add this to my routine. No matter if I mixed this with my SPF or if I applied this first and then the SPF, my skin would still look and feel not quite oily, but not very matte. Bummer, right? It does have a nice, clean scent to it. I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard Vinopure line scent. It might be a big strong for those who are sensitive to scents, though. All in all, it was pretty underwhelming in terms of oil control, but it still felt nice as a moisturizer. I wouldn’t say it’s now my go-to. I’ll continue using it until I run out, but I won’t purchase it. #freeproducttrywithtopbox
I have combination skin that can get very oily during the warm, humid summer months. As a result, It can be a struggle finding a moisturizer that is lightweight enough for me to wear during the day while still hydrating my skin. The vinopure oil-control moisturizer did a wonderful job of this and was even great when worn under makeup! I frequently have issues of my foundation breaking up after a few hours of wear if I use skincare before application, but this product didn't have that effect. It was lightly hydrating, enough that my skin felt smooth and plump, and it absorbed very quickly which i appreciated. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that this product is fragrance-free since it does have a light scent to it but fragrances can be irritating to my skin. I also love that is comes in a tube! it may not feel as luxe as a pretty glass jar but it is far more hygienic and easier to use. I received a free sample of Caudalie's Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin from Topbox Circle. Receiving a #freeproduct did NOT cause me to leave a positive review. I actually DO have oily, blemish prone skin. Normally I can't wear makeup or BB cream for more than an hour before my oily skin causes the makeup/BB cream to break up, look blotchy and patchy, and just overall terrible…. No matter what I apply to my face beforehand. The best mattifying primers and setting powders are just no match for my oily skin. The photo with the blue wall in the background is the "before" photo. I had just taken a shower and dried my hair. No product applied to my face at all, and you can already see my face is starting to look oily. In the other photo, several hours later, the only products I've used all day are the Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin, Purlisse BB cream, and mascara. No primer, no touch ups or oil blotting sheets, no setting powder, no nothin. My face looks a little shiny but honestly it looks so much better than normal. My makeup isn't sliding off my face! Ive been using this moisturizer after showering in the morning, and after washing my face at night. It doesn't feel greasy at all and hasn't caused any new breakouts for me. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because I find the scent totally repulsive… Thankfully the scent doesn't last long. If you're on the fence I think it's worth a try.lisatron138

I have dry to normal skin type, I feel this is so thick moistuizer such that I get sweating and it is sticky. It is suitable for very dry skin and suitable for night routine. I love the ingredients in it and I use for only night routine as the last and final step.(I feel this is best for only PM routine) I can't use this for morning routine as it is thick and doesn't let any products on top of it for example: sunscreens (I used both mineral and chemical sunscreens) which is a must for AM routine, sunscreens doesn't blend with this product. Kindly make changes to product description (suitable for very dry skin, less is more (dry , normal, oily skin types)and suitable/best for night routine). Feedback: can you please formulate such way that this is actually light Moisturizer, avoid shea butter (I think because of this it feels as a heavy moisturizer). Best stuff I've ever chosen to "try". I've had acne prone/oily/dry skin since my early 20's. I have used EVERYTHING out there to help clear it up. Nothing worked. Or something would help the acne, but completely dry my skin out that it literally hurt to smile. Or I'd use something to help with the dry skin, and my skin would go into rescue mode and create an immense amount of oil overcompensating for the dryness. It was frustrating, I was insecure. People who have had skin problems KNOW what I'm talking about. I tried this last November, bc I'd run out of moisturizer, and asked my mom if I could borrow some of hers. Neutrogena hydro boost was what she gave me to use that day. I first noticed after I applied it to my face, neck and décolletté, how velvety my skin felt. And it was as if my skin just drank it up! Like it really needed it. So I applied a little more. Went to bed, woke up the next morning- my skin looked and felt totally different. No fabrication. No exaggeration. The texture was different. I had a glow. And even my acne wasn't as red, or aggitated looking. And had seemed actually slightly minimized. I began using it from that day forward and my cystyc acne has ceased, my skin is supple, clear, brightened. All I can think is that this moisturizer some how balanced the pH levels in my skin. So this gonna be my honesh review regarding this cream lil bit lengthy .. So when I used this moisturizer So after continue 3 days usage thier was tiny bumps near my chin and jaw line and cheeks area I was scared thought might be due to of other products so I stopped using this and then after 1 week again started with simple routine with zero actives Facewash- toner – moisturizer ( 15 days ) it suited my skin and as promising it moisturized skin so well this winter After 15 days start using my vitc active with it and yes it worked completely fine with it . And now after 1 moths usage I can say that it worked really well for my skin So I wanna say skin care is subjective and some people might face issue with it because might it not have with the other products they are using so you have to give it a try . Fact : oily skin types it might be really heavy for you during summers so you can use it during winter times. Good moisturizer for normal dry combination skin for winters but not might be extra helpful too extremely dry skin you have to layer it up with another moisturizer or hydrating serum. I've decided I really like this moisturizer. It feels almost like a light gel moisturizer, and seems to sit on the skin more than other moisturizers I've used. I feel like my skin is protected this way and it is a nice light layer between my skin and makeup. And when I don't wear makeup, it is absorbed enough so that my skin looks hydrated but is still protected. I bought this because I was using the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream, and I was looking for alternatives to that. I came across Hyram's video about the Dr. Jart products, and then found out that Hyram now has his own skincare line. In the video, I also learned that essential oils can be harmful to your skin just like how general "fragrance" is harmful. It seemed like Hyram has done lots of research and is very knowledgeable of different skincare ingredients. I'm glad I tried this. I have very sensitive, dry skin and usually, foundation doesn't work with my skin very well. But, since I started using this moisturizer, makeup seems to be more even, and my skin looks and feels better without makeup. Thank you!K
First of all how bad can you rate a product that helps the world around it? Honestly. I cannot explain how much I love this product and how much I wish I could buy more of it. I remember reading reviews saying that if you have dry skin then you should consider looking somewhere else, and let me tell you that is bull! I have combination skin, but I do often get flare-ups of eczema on my face. Never in my life have I had a product that was able to keep my skin moisturized and not oily at the same time. I felt that I had to sacrifice one thing for another and that is just NOT true. Life-changing, honestly. Working to buy the whole collection soon haha, a college student has to take their products once at a time. However, I definitely know that I will be buying them all from Selfless by Hyram. Bought this on a whim while on sale, not expecting much at all… I was shocked to find it controlling shine in my oil-slick of a T-zone, while simultaneously hydrating enough to prevent settling/breakdown in my under eye area. Absorbs quickly and doesn’t pill if over-applied (I run late often and in my haste have been known to overdue it). But this was definitely a win for me! Side note: after reading other reviews I was so confused by the comments regarding the scent. I made a point of checking mine as I applied, and then again rubbed into the back of my hand. I don’t smell, well, anything… good, bad or otherwise. Perhaps this changes with age/use/air exposure? I’ll watch for it.MsAppy

I'm a big fan of salicylic acid, as this is one of those ingredients that really works for me, so from the whole range of derma-e creams I stopped at a cream to restore the balance of acne. ⠀ The manufacturer says that it is suitable for problem and oily skin. Firstly, there are always situations when you say with almost complete certainty that the next day something will come out (I have this makeup for more than 12 hours in the heat and flights) with pre-existing inflammations that happen on the cleanest skin. Actually, this cream was purchased for these purposes. And I want to say right away that it works! ⠀ The product has a very dense consistency and a pronounced tea tree scent. Not everyone likes him, but I enjoy it🔥 The cream is absorbed in seconds without leaving grease. On the contrary, after use, the skin is matte and slightly tightened (not to be confused with dried out), but there is moisture. This effect is new to me. ⠀ I was very afraid that it was dry, even with daily use. I am smeared exclusively at night and only on those days when something bothers me. The rest of the time, yeouth moisturizer is in use and I'm happy with everything. I use this every morning on my T-Zone and see such a difference! My forhead can be blinding but this product mattes my shiny head. I also have hormonal acne, sensative and oily skin. I frequently would breakout on my forhead and chin but this product has helped calm my skin. A litttle goes a long way! Definitely worth the price if your doubting it, bc you will have a jar for a couple months. I have tried many products with salicylic acid (drug store to luxury brands) and I really like Dermae's formula. I experience hormonal acne which started during my last pregnancy and continues nearly 3 years later. I didn't realize that my last moisturizer was likely making things worse.
