Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s
I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. I haven't reviewed anything on here yet, but this product really seems worth a review. I have an annoying combination skin that both gets dry/flaky AND oily/shiny. This moisturizers works like a charm, giving my skin hydration and controlling shine on my nose. I have no idea how they formulate this product to achieve this monumental task, but they somehow managed to do it. I used to be able to only control the shine on my nose by putting on powder, but with this moisturizer, I don't even need to put on any powder, and my nose still does not get excessively shiny. I highly recommend this for anyone who is struggling with shiny skin due to oil. Also, I noticed that, in the winter, when the air is particularly dry, this moisturizer doesn't give quite enough moisture, so now I complement it with the FAB Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration at night. That gives my skin the extra moisture at night, and then I use this product in the morning. Together, they give my skin enough hydration in the winter while still controlling the shine. I know I sound like some sort of paid spokesperson, but this is just me being excited about a line of products that actually works for my skin.Luce
I'm really enjoying this product. It does what it says, moisturizes while controlling oil. My skin gets even more oily when I'm not wearing makeup and I hate the way it feels. I can go a day without makeup with this product and it's really nice. It definitely provides a light moisture too. I get dryness around my eyes and mouth and nose. If you let this fully dry before applying makeup, you'll be fine. Primer is a key factor as well. I use a the smash box matte primer. If you need more moisturizer, just use a moisturizing primer for dry areas and you'll be good. Worth a try.MR
I have an extremely oily complexion and never thought i could keep my oil under control throughout the day while also keeping my skin hydrated until i tried this moisturizer. For reference, without this moisturizer my skin turns into a grease bucket after 15 minutes of washing and this moisturizer makes my complexion look completely normal for about 4-8 hours depending on my skin that day. Once my face starts to build up a bit of oil after many hours, i can just pat it off and be good for another couple hours before patting any oil off again. Lasts a full days wear. I also find when i dont use this moisturizer my acne and blackheads start coming out and also my pores become bigger without it, showing just how much it actually helps my acne/blackhead prone and large pored-skin. I hope they never discontinue this moisturizer otherwise i will never be able to make my skin complexion look as normal as this makes it throughout the day. Also this is also super moisturizing for my skin surprisingly and i never dry out from it. The product actually does exactly what it says it does which is control oil and moisturize which is rare for a product to really live up to all of its claims. I see reviews here that say it’s too drying and give a bad review for the rating to go down, which frustrates me because it’s really meant for moderately oily to extremely oily skin so of course it will be drying to less oily skin because it isnt meant for it. I love this moisturizer! I came across it on a YouTube video while looking for hydrating moisturizers. I have combination skin and my skin feels so hydrated after using this. It’s important to note that I pair this with the Laniege hyaluronic revitalizing toner which is also very hydrating. I also use an exfoliating cleanser, Paula’s Choice vitamin C serum and Innisfree sunscreen during the day. I use the moisturizer at night as well with other products. Love the combo! I applied a small amount to my face and it hydrated my skin beautifully without making my skin look or feel greasy. It absorbed quickly and evenly into my skin, and didn't leave it feeling sticky or tacky afterwards. My skin felt SO much softer after I used this cream, it was amazing. My skin looked and felt beautiful after applying it. I have never used any product from this brand and this one sadly is a NO for me. PROS: – It doesn’t leave a white cast. – Hydrating cream, with a nice texture (not too thin, not too thick) – It has glycerin,squalane and hyaluronic acid which are great hydrators. – It smells very good. I like scented formulas although it is not necessary. – Clean at Sephora CONS: – This cream doesn’t work with my skincare. It peels. This is a problem for me because I am not going to stop using my skincare, focused on anti-aging, to use this sunscreen. I would use another one on my face and leave this one for my arms. – It is a chemical sunscreen. I don’t have sensitive skin so I can use it but I can’t apply it around my eyes because it makes me tear up and I want sunscreen on that area because it is the most delicate. – If you apply the recommended amount for any sunscreen to be effective at the advertised SPF (1 teaspoon for the face), your will end up with a greasy looking face. It may have been part of the reason for the sunscreen to peel on me. – It has a lot of silicons, which I suspect are another reason for this cream not to work with my skincare. – It has a couple of essential oils. They give the cream a nice minty citrusy smell that I love but it is not necessary. They may be irritating for some so they should just not add them as they don’t provide any sun protection benefits. – I find it a little pricey. I’m sorry that this is a little long but I want to do this product justice because it’s worth it (and I’m a babbler). I have been struggling with dry, sensitive skin for many years now. My skin is dry year round because I just do not produce very much oil. I have spent so much money on expensive skincare trying to find a moisturizer that will work with no luck. I can’t even use Cerave on my face because something in it irritates me. I had recently purchased one of those Sephora $10 deluxe sample bags and realized this was one of the products included in it so I decided to browse the reviews here and they convinced me to try it. No joke, the very first time I put this on my face the heavens opened up and angels started singing! Well, ok that didn’t happen but you get the picture! Immediately my face felt more hydrated than it has for a good 20 years now. I immediately ordered a bigger jar. Not once has this made my sensitive skin sting, even when applying it after I dermaplane with a surgical 10 blade. The instant and long term effects have been nothing short of amazing. I have not had dry patches on my face at all. That in itself is crazy. It plays well with my tretinoin when others make it pill, It absorbs fast enough to be used morning and night, it works wonders with my moringa oil and I have recently added polyglutamic acid with no problems as well. It could be the squalene in it that my skin has needed all these years, not sure, but I cannot believe I waited this long to try this miracle moisturizer. If you have also struggled with dry skin for a long time, I highly recommend giving this moisturizer a try. The texture itself is wonderfully light and non sticky which makes you wonder how on earth it is so moisturizing but it really is. If you really want some results then apply pure, cold pressed moringa oil at night on top of it to lock it in and watch your skin transform!QueenOfMayhem

This is an amazing moisturizer for combination skin and acne-prone skin! The texture was really nice and felt great on the skin; it's light but moisturizing and doesn't weigh the skin down (you'll forget you were wearing it!) My bottle has lasted quite a while which goes to say that a little goes a long way with this product! I will say because it doesn't have the thickest coverage, I'm not sure how this would fare with people with drier skin types, so I only used this at night before bed during the winter. Overall, it was a great purchase, and I'd buy it again.simrat.s
This moisturizer is considered for sensitive skin that has a very lightweight texture, however, I have noticed that putting it on a damp skin can be really irritating, it burns the skin. So after cleansing your skin make sure it’s not damp to avoid burning sensation. My skin took a month and a half to adjust to it, however, I still sometimes get that burning sensation. Although I still cannot understand why it had that burning effect, my guess is probably a damaged skin barrier.. but who knows.. Also this moisturizer doesn’t have any specific scent, it’s fragrance free which is good for people with sensitive skin. And it is oil-free and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores. Ive been waiting to review this product because I just wasnt sure about it. If I could, Id give it 3.5 stars. Let me start by saying I have very problematic skin. My skin is super dry and easily irritated. A lot of moisturizers exacerbate my skin problems. I chose this because I thought the oil free formula might give my skin the breathing room it needs. Unfortunately, the product is refreshing but not at all moisturising. If my skin is dry and I apply it, my skin still looks dry and flaky a few minutes after application. It is necessary to use another moisturizer. Luckily, the dramatically different moisturising lotion came in a grab bag I purchased at the same time and I loved it. Ended up buying a large bottles as I was burning through the 50 ml.I use a hyaluronic acid serum under my moisturizer in the evenings, and the hydrating jelly feels a lot like that product. Indeed, hyaluronic acid is one of the key ingredients. If you think of this product as a serum, then its good bang for your buck. Or, if you have oily skin, this could definitely be a good product for you. Ive also tried applying it in the morning under my tinted moisturizer which works okay. However, the jelly does leave behind a slightly sticky residue that is more noticeable when other products are added on top. Giving it time to absorb before applying make up or another moisturizer helps.Anonymous
LISTEN I’ve tried DOZENS of moisturizers for my greasy, oily skin and this one is one of the only ones that doesn’t leave my skin looking like my face was just soaked in oil yet still hydrates and smoothens out my pores and texture. Not sticky at all and it just feels comfortable. Other moisturizers end up feeling greasy after 1-2 hours. This one just feels so clean and absorbs soooo well into the skin. I probably have the most oily skin in the world so trust me when I say this stuff actually controls oil it’s crazy. My skin is olive/tan with hyperpigmentation, acne scars from years ago, large pores, and horomonal acne…the most difficult skin to deal with especially around my period because I get a lot of hormonal breakouts (white heads and cysts). Trust me this stuff is amazing. Just for reference other moisturizers that have also worked for me are the neutrogena hydroboost gel and the drunk elephant peptide something. I still like this one better. Only gel moisturizers will work for me and this one helps tremendously. It also works flawlessly with all of my makeup.KParra888
I have really oily skin and this moisturizing gel works for me. I was hesitant to try Clinique moisturizer again after having a horrible experience with the original lotion a few years ago (I broke out so badly I actually have a few small scars and bumps to this day). But this is very different from the lotion IMO. The gel texture is light and refreshing and doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin; also totally unscented. It’s not mattifying exactly but it doesn’t make extra shine. When I wake up my skin looks and feels soft, not super greasy like most night creams I have tried. I use the Sephora mattifying moisturizer on my face during the day and use this gel on my neck and the two small dry patches I have on my chin. So far this routine is working well for me and I’m really happy with it. I would recommend for oily skin, this comes in a small tube if you just want to try it out.sparkledragon

I'm not sure how this product gets such good reviews. I expected much better from this brand. It's no better than something I could pick up at the drugstore for half the price. I had better luck with CeraVe. First of all, this smells terrible. It's supposed to be scentless but it smells like horrible chemicals. Second, it's a small bottle for the price. And I have to use at least 5-6 pumps to get any effect whatsoever which means this bottle isn't going to last long. Especially compared to Kiehls, which yes, is expensive, but in comparison I can used a pea-sized amount and it's more effective than 6 pumps of this lotion. I've been using this every day for two weeks and my skin is still dry. On the plus side, it hasn't caused breakouts for me like some of the other reviewers. But I won't be purchasing this again. I have been using this product since I was 12 years old, I used to steal it from my moms vanity (shhh don't tell her) it is perfect for combination skin to add The perfect glow for those of us that have naturally pretty "good" skin. I've never suffered much from acne beside the occasional breakout on my jawline or near the middle of my eyebrows (usually hormonal or from going too long without plucking them). This product is my all time favorite, it is gentle light weight and hydrating! 2 pumps of this product and your good for the rest of your day, it works amazingly well as a daily moisturizer and using it you will see a difference quickly. I've tried higher end brands, and they tend to be too harsh for my skin ultimately either clogging my pores or drying my skin out because they attempt to do too much. This moisturizer is a good old fashioned light weigh hydrated. It leaves your skin blemish free, soft to the touch, and glowing. I highly recommend this product of your looking for a great daily moisturizer that won't be too harsh in your skin and will still provide you with that beautiful glow.never2young2preventawrinkle
I'm using this as it came with the Great Skin Set for dry skin. I also add the Moisture Surge to cheeks and neck at night. I'm definitely a type 2 and live in a very dry climate. However, I started using this as instructed: " Spread all over face/throat twice daily, or where needed." After a week, chin broke out, my skin was greasy and foundation wouldn't blend naturally. I contacted customer service and they said I should only use it on dry areas, contrary to what the instructions state. I tried that and my face is tight and dry and ended up using moisture surge on top of it for day and night. Still not great, I'm using 2 pumps for face/neck and barely have enough to spread evenly but still feels greasy and hard to blend foundation. Definitely better to use the moisturizing gel and add moisture surge if needed. Unfortunately I still have 1.5 bottles left from my gift sets. I might buy the Moisturizing Gel for day and keep using the Moisturizing Lotion+ only at night.Felicia

Even though it was free these are my words and my honest experience with this product. lam giving it 4 stars for how it is unavailable and it being sold out in full size. This is a lightweight serum that absorbs quickly and easily. It is very hydrating but not greasy. Slighty scented, so can be used often as needed and great for sensitive, combination, dry, and oily skin. This product does not leave any residue on your skin and quickly absorbed. It leaves the skin soft and suppel. So far I'm enjoying this serum and have used it for a few days due to receiving a sample size. After a few days I noticed immediate results. I read that you can see improvements after 6 to 12 weeks and I'm 9 days into using and see a significant difference. My skin is moisturized, youthful looking, and refreshing finish look. I do recommend once its available for purchase. Did my skin feel more hydrated after initial use? Yes, moisturized and supple. How did my skin look and feel after using after using for 9 to 10 days, did I notice a difference in my skin's brightness or smoothness? Yes, I did a youthful look. Everything worth having cost and this product is no exception. It is costly but it’s very much worth it. I highly recommend for aging skin. Even if you’re not showing signs of aging I recommend it to help prolong that. This product has made a huge difference to my skin and it’s texture. I absolutely 100% recommend it. I came across this with the gift set. Initially I didn't like it as it leaves an oily look and I had a hard time prepping my face for make up. I realized the sample I got from the gift was for DRY SKIN. I have combo skin ( super oily in my T zone ). Because I wanted to try the Smart Line, I purchased the one for combination skin. I love this! It keeps my skin hydrated under my make up and protects too with SPF15. The PM moisturizer is even better. My skin feels plumped and moisturized when I wake up in the morning. This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. And if you’re like me, struggling to find a cream that actually absorbs and feels like it’s helping soothe your dry skin, then you might want to consider this one!!
La Roche Posay Effaclar Matt Daily moisturizer is a great product. I love all products from this brand but especially this one. My oily skin looks perfect after using it, and it’s stays the same for entire day. It’s very gentle and do not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin.I’ve been using this for over 5 years or so and I can tell it’s irreplaceable. The best drugstore moisturizer ever. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! (I tried this brand before about 5 years ago, and it didn’t help me, maybe another cream). I advise everyone! When I first started using this moisturizer a few years ago I loved it. My recent purchase of this moisturizer hasn't been the best. I'm not sure if an ingredient has been added but I'm even more oily after I apply it. I started having continuous breakouts all over my face (cheeks, jawline, between eyebrows & forehead) for a month. I thought it was stress and other things. I decided to eliminate this product from my skincare routine just to see if it would help. My skin immediately started clearing up. I believe it's a good product just not for oily, sensitive & acne prone skin. I also noticed my make-up looking terrible by the end of the day. In the morning it would be fine, during mid-day I look like a oil stick. Today was my second day not using it under my makeup & my face is not oily at all & it still looks fresh! My pores no longer feel clogged! I still love the Farmacy brand & will continue to purchase other skincare items! I'm just praying my review will help you all come up with another moisturizer that's a little lighter, less clogging of the pores and less fragrances and ingredients.
The new formula ruined this moisturizer for me. I had a subscription and was obsessed with the original formula. The smell was the most amazing and refreshing scent. I always felt like I was transported to a tropical island, and applying it was my favorite part of my skincare routine. The scent just lifted me up and relaxed me. Now, the new formula has zero scent. The whole experience is non-existent for me as a result. The original formula also just felt better on my skin overall. I could even apply it right over and around my eye area, and never experienced any irritation. It actually helped soothe my eyes. The new formula burns! I’m so disappointed that the formula was changed so drastically. I really just hate this moisturizer now. It’s nothing like the original, which was my holy grail and addiction for years. If you’ve ever found a moisturizer you truly love everything about, then you know the devastation of not being able to get it anymore and how hard it is to find a replacement. I wish they would’ve kept the original formula as at least another option, but it seems to be gone for good. Huge mistake, Farmacy. I will most likely be canceling my subscription for this moisturizer now. I’ve been an avid user for years. The formula was perfect and never broke out my sensitive skin. UNTIL they changed the formula. I just purchased a new package and to say the difference is huge is a massive understatement. Whereas previously the moisturizer perfectly absorbed into my skin and truly had the oil free dewy glow you want, the new one adds this weird layer on top of your skin that just….sits there. It’s kind of sticky like it hasn’t fully absorbed and, this sounds dramatic, but it feels like it’s clogging my pores immediately. Like when you use a bad sunscreen, or a bad lotion in a pinch, and when you sweat you can feel that layer of sweat trying to come out but can’t and it just feels gross? Yeah. That’s how it feels almost immediately and then subsequently the rest of the day. You’re just sitting there not sweating and your face can’t breath or dry feeling. It gets worse, especially if you do end up outside and sweating. Needless to say, my sensitive skin that I actually had under continuous control for almost two years now looks like a battle zone with all kinds of breakouts coming up even in areas I don’t usually get them, like my neck. Y’all, I’m telling you, skip this “upgraded” product. It had to be a change for money purposes because it was NOT for the benefit of the skin when they had a previously perfect product. i love this moisturizer! i have really sensitive and acne prone skin, and this moisturizer is the only one i can use consistently and not get acne as a result. it doesnt have a scent, and feels so nice on my face. i always keep this moisturizer in my bag and use it every single day, sometimes more than once. i even use it as a primer before i put my makeup on and it helps me achieve a great moisturized, dewy, and bright look!natalie
This sunscreen is the worst. I've tried it three or four times now, and every time it gets in my eyes and they end up burning, watery,and painful, even though I avoid the eye area, and sometimes hours later. I can't believe this is an offering from a premium brand like MB at this price point. It feels like I am putting regular for-your-body suntan lotion on my face. It's not particular greasy, but it does seem to just sit on your skin. There are countless better offerings for facial sunscreen out there. Cotz and Olay mineral are light years beyond this. I used this as a daily moisturizer after cleansing and using a toner. It absorbed into my skin well, and I loved the dewy way it made my skin look. I used the same small bottle for several months, so a little goes a long way! Unfortunately, it made my skin feel very congested, and my acne flared up. My pores were full of gunk, my face was really oily, and I started getting cystic acne on my face and neck. I quit using it three days ago and my skin has already calmed down immensely, and the cysts are going away. If you have skin that isn't acne-prone or is more dry, this could be great for you. This product has changed my mindset on skin care completely not only is this gel moisturizer so amazing feeling when putting it on, it absorbs so fast and leaves my face so hydrated but it has completely transformed my face texture wise, appearance wise, and helped me sooo much with my redness but also it has given me the confidence to love my skin with and without makeup! You can tell Tatcha put a lot of thought into this product. I've been using the Water Cream for years. I loved the lightweight formula. I applied it twice daily after washing my face. It easily glided onto my skin when I applied it and absorbed into my quickly making it a mess free application. My face felt hydrated and smooth afterwards without feeling weighed down with product. However, when I most recently re-purchased the Water Cream I immediately noticed that the consistently was different. The cream was no longer lightweight. It felt heavier and almost had a whipped texture to it. I really had to rub the product to work it into my skin, but eventually it felt like the smooth product so was used to so I chalked it up to me overthinking it. However, within a few hours my face felt itchy and when I was able to look in a mirror I saw tiny bumps all over my face. I immediately washed my face off and used a different moisturizer to try to soothe my face. I'm aware that people's skin changes over time and need to adjust their skincare regimen over time. But because the cream felt so drastically different I looked into it and Tatcha has confirmed that they "had some very minor ingredient changes to the ingredient list to make it comply with international regulations." I am so disappointed that they changed the formula without putting anything in their product description or on their packaging in a way that i found noticeable. To start it off, I don't have a terrible acne problem, but I have a terrible problem with picking at my face and making it worse. I found out about tatcha through an ipsy bag but somehow forgot about it after. I've been using PanOxyl for my acne recently and it's been working, but I started to think about my skin and the nourishment it needs. I know aging is normal but I'm about to be 27 and time feels like it's going by way to fast. I still feel young and I want to try to still look young to be honest. So I recently saw an ad on Instagram for Tatcha. I decided to buy the limited addition water cream and the mini rice polish for oily skin. Although pricy, when I received the packaging and letters, I was in awe with how Tatcha is supporting the futures of young girls/women with purchases. For someone who thinks about the world and the impact of everything, who can't complain about that? So I know you can't make pores disappear, I will say that using these products for a minute now made my pores appear a lot smaller and unclogged?. I'm amazed. Literally. After this I'm sure to use Tatcha in my longterm skin routine. THE ONLY THING I AM UPSET ABOUT — Is that I didn't take before and after pictures to show how serious I am about it. I've been trying out random skin products for the longest but I think tatcha is here to stay in my permanent routine. Ps to the wonderful Tatcha team, I know yall are trying to promote recycling with the prodcuts and I appreciate that… but for people who bought full size products for awhile and don't have much recycling options in the area, could we request future product in a biodegradable/small bag to just put back into our full size product containers? I mostly ask this because I bought the Limited addition water cream and I love the packaging of it and would absolutely hate to get rid of it once the product in it runs out. This is everything I look for in a gel cream. First I really like that it is lightweight and not oily. I feel comfortable putting this on my face and neck, there is no sticky or grease-y residue. I also like that there is no odor. Putting cream on your face, the scent is very important and this product does a great job compared to others with having almost no scent. I like that this also works well and dries quickly – I can finish my morning routine of putting sunscreen on without having to wait a while for this to soak in. I have combination skin and it does not make me break out or cause any irritation on my skin. I like that it provides hydration without feeling heavy, especially in the summer the light weight feel of the product is perfect for hot days. It is easy to apply and I don't feel like I need to wash my hands after applying, I just rub any access, if any, on my skin and it absorbs all of the product. I would buy this product and I would gift this product to someone I love, it's a great thoughtful item to give to someone and very useful! I really enjoyed using this gel cream. I've been using this product for a while now and I have been really happy with the results. First it applies very easily and is light weight, absorbs into my skin well, and works well in the morning or night for application. it does not leave any sticky residue or after feeling. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly. I do like that there is not a strong odor for this cream, since you're putting it close to your nose any strong odor bothers me, and this product is great! I like the bright packaging because it really stands out compared to my other beauty products, but I wish the lid sealed a bit tighter. Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W
Still undecided on this one. While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. So for me at least, yes, it eliminates oil, but not for anywhere remotely close to 24 hours. Eight to ten hours, sure. The scent isn't offensive and doesn't linger on me, but I'd strongly prefer something unscented.BMcS
I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. But it DEFINITELY works better than any other moisturizer I have used before; nothing has met my needs as well.Seth

Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s
I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. I think this may be my favourite unscented day moisturiser ever! As a Cosrx product it is super gentle and soothing on my dry, slightly sensitive skin, and it doesn't leave it sticky at all. You only need a little bit of it, and it absorbs very quickly. I think this is perfect for day-time use, but for the night something heavier would be better. I use this both before and after gym as well. I'm going to order my third jar of this product. I think this would be perfect for the summer especially. During winter those with super dry skin might need something heavier though.Ninna
I received a sachet of this stuff as a free gift with my order a few orders ago and absolutely loved it so I purchased a full size product not long after. This gel cream is soooo soothing for my skin. Absorbs quickly and does not leave any greasy feeling after which is great for my mostly oily/combo skin. It soothes any redness on the face and has a nice cooling affect. Moisturizes and creates a nice skin barrier. I have very sensitive skin and this product does not irritate it. Fragrance is minute and not overwhelming in the least bit. I highly recommend this product and will keep repurchasing.Jennifer
When I first received this COSRX Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel , I knew I had to feature it on #texturetuesday 😍. It is a soft light green gel that jiggles when you shake it. This is instantly cooling upon application which soothe redness, blemishes and sunburns or over heated skin. Once again, I have never felt any discomfort applying this on open or closed acne. This cream belongs in the same line as the toner packed with Vitamin B5 (D-panthernol), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract and Allantoin. I would say it's geared towards normal to oily skin. People who have drier skin can try Moisture Power Enriched Cream from the same line. . This gel cream is fast absorbing with just a few taps. Similar to the toner, this leaves a protective film that is non sticky locking in hydration. To me, I did not detect a scent what so ever. I think this is a perfect gel cream for the summer months. Since using this whole skincare line, I have noticed my enlarged pores on my cheeks have been gone. I haven't seen anything that has helped me with this issue. I have sensitive combination skin and a very intricate daytime and nighttime skincare routine. For the past few weeks, I have replaced my nighttime moisturizer with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Fragrance-Free 48h Rehydrating Cream. I love that this moisturizer is a third of the cost of my usual moisturizer and just as effective. The moisturizer is fragrance-free, has a nice thick texture, and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. I've also appreciated that when I'm running late in the morning, my skin continues to feel moisturized even if I skip my AM skincare routine. The only thing I don't like about the moisturizer is that it leaves my skin feeling sticky even after letting it dry for about an hour. The stickiness interferes with wearing my eye mask to bed. I have been using this product for a couple weeks now and I can, 100% tell a difference in my skin. I live in Las Vegas and it is DRY here! During winter, it is even worse. It's not "snow cold" but it's cold and really windy. So just dry, dry, dry. Even the typical face creams and moisturizers do not truly make your face feel replenished. The good and bad: Good: my face truly does feel moisturized when I use this day and night. Bad: it does not seem to last all day, my nightfall, I surely need more. This has been nothing but amazing. I've always wanted to try it out but never really pulled the trigger. I finally got the chance to try it, and it continues to solidify my new love for it. I've been dry and peeling even more because my retinol cream and because it's been super cold and super dry. I apply this day and night! It's the last step before my sunscreen. I've tried this for two weeks and would have days where I wear this only at night and only during the day to see the difference in my skin. Night application: I wake up with very hydrated skin and I can feel it being washed off in the morning. Keeps my skin under the control. It's almost like a sleeping mask. Day application: I noticed days where I don't have this on, my skin starts getting dry around 2pm ish. My skin and concealer starts to crack. Okay so one of my biggest part of my skin care routine is the moisturizer. It is so hard for me to find a product that is good for my skin and doesn’t clog my pores and works all in one. But this right here has snagged me. It has not broke mg skin out or clogged my pores which is huge for me. It also is so lightweight feeling and my skin just drinks this stuff up. It has helped with my dry spots/areas in my face which is a plus because usually I have a heck of a time finding stuff that helps in little time. My skin took a hit this winter so it was nice getting this voxbox in to try out and I am glad I found this product because I absolutely will be buying this when I run out. Now I do want to give this a full month to see if my skin takes to it for good from here on. Sometimes products had done well for me and then boom my skin goes haywire. But usually first couple uses I see things changing and like I said with this so far so good. This is super affordable, clean/vegan ingredients which is amazing especially for this cheap of a price point. I cannot say it enough give this stuff a try. I have combination/ breakout prone skin and this hasn’t caused my skin any irritation or change.samantha.k
This is a great moisturizer. I use it on very dry parts of my face- mostly my nose and forehead. Before using this, my nose was crusty and would flake during the day, but it was also sensitive to some products. I lathered this on my nose for about 3 weeks now and my nose is so much more moisturized and doesn’t get little bumps! It has no smell, which I appreciate since my skin can react to fragrance. There is a lot of product in the bottle-it will last you quite awhile and I still have more than half the bottle left after 3 weeks. I highly recommend giving this a try if you’re looking for a lightweight moisturizer for sensitive skin. The only thing I will say is that I still prefer the Happy Hydration moisturizer cream from elf. If you have dry skin like me, that one is much better to help hydrate the rest of the face. I received this as a free sample as part of the elf beauty squad, and I’m very pleasantly surprised! The cream is a little thick, but I only notice this feeling on my upper lip and as soon as it absorbs it’s very comfortable. That said, it takes a while to do so and almost feels like you’re moving the product around rather than it absorbing into your skin at first. You may have to massage (gently!!!) for a bit. I have oily skin so I’m not too fond of the greasy look- think sunscreen- but I love a healthy glow-from-within, moisturized look. This gives exactly that! Not ultra hydrating so I don’t know if I’d suggest it for dry skin, but it has a very nice finish and does not accentuate my pores. It’s almost soft matte. It’s also got niacinamide, which I’m always happy to see in a product! Although I’m not sure how much or how effective it will be for lighting hyperpigmentation. I have acne so my skin can be sensitive from spot treatment from time to time and this product felt like heaven to apply!! I absolutely love this moisturizer! This water cream has hyaluronic acid and pineapple extract, and kept my skin hydrated all day(or all night) depending on when I used it. It is very long-lasting and has a very light natural citrus scent that smells amazing. My favorite part about this water cream is the texture! It starts off with this really thick texture, but as soon as you start to massage it in, it simply MELTS into the skin. It absorbs super quickly, yet your face still feels velvety soft afterwards! I have been using this for 11 days now along with my (newly stated) retinol at night and it has been really helped me to avoid any dryness or other issues that retinol can sometimes cause. I am currently battling hormonal acne and this did not cause me to break out at all, if anything, I have noticed lightening of post-acne marks and an overall more dewy-looking complexion! I have mainly dry skin and being that it is currently winter, I need even more hydration. I adore Hyaluronic acid so I was excited that to get this Philosophy Hope in a Jar water cream – hyaluronic glow moisturizer. The cream itself is gorgeous with a blue shade and pleasant (but not overwhelming scent). It really is reminiscent of a glacier water, as this cream contains. In addition to this Norwegian glacial water, this additionally contains pineapple extract which I think it a fun addition. My personal preference is to have skincare without added fragrance/dyes so I deduct a star for that. The cream was still gentle on my skin, and the texture was one of the most interesting I have used in awhile. It had almost a slushy appearance and when applied it feels like it becomes more liquid as it absorbs into skin. It feels lightweight, but provides hydration and smoothness for skin. I wanted to make sure I tried this water cream for some time before writing a review, so here are my thoughts after a few weeks. I'm loving this product! It's so light and airy, but it hydrates so well. It's $39, but a little goes such a long way. It spreads so well. The weather here has been cold and dry, so it's been pretty unforgiving on my skin. When I use this water cream, it retains moisture and stays hydrated even with the harsh elements. I have combo skin, so both dry and oily, but this cream works well with both. It's strong enough to keep the dry areas hydrated, but it's not too strong to where it makes the oily areas more oily and out of control. It doesn't clog up my pores, so I haven't had to worry about any breakouts or pimples. I'll be purchasing this once I finish this product!Pegah

I want to give you guys a little review of that „color-smart day moisturizer“ from shiseido @waso_official . Just for reference – I have really pale skin with freckles my skin is pretty dry and sensitive. If you apply this cream it is white and It will develop color when you’re rubbing it in your skin. Bc I‘m pale as paper it’s a little bit dark for me but you can’t really see it only if I apply a heavy layer (but you don’t need much of this product). It drys matte with a healthy looking glow and it’s oil-free – that means it works for dry, oily and combination skin! The coverage is light but perfect for my everyday look bc I can show my natural freckles and can correct unevenness of my skin (like redness). This cream has got SPF 30 and I don’t break out 😊 (I tested a lot of expensive moisturizer with spf and my sensitive skin tends to break out the last times). I got a little sample the last time I bought something from @douglas_cosmetics and after one week of tryin it I bought the full-size one. That product will cost you 43,00€ for 50 ml/1.9 OZ but I have to say that the sample of 5 ml/0.19 OZ lasted more than one and a half week (Used it everyday) so you can be sure that this product last you for a while. Amazing! I use this everyday for work and I absolutely love it. Smell: It does have a light smell (think herbal spa product) but it’s nothing too strong and I find it to be pleasant when applying. But something to consider if you don’t like scents Formula/finish: I have oily skin so I love the finish. It is a natural matte finish and definitely makes your skin look naturally beautiful (key word is natural: it is LIGHT coverage but does help cover small blemishes to give you an overall healthy no makeup look). I also think it helps minimize appearance of pores—I have pretty large ones due to my oily skin and it works great for me Shade: My one concern is that the shade will not be ideal for everyone. It is meant to blend into your own color which to some extent it does but I really think it only works for light to light/medium skin tones. It also has a pink undertone to it which I think helps with the natural skin like glow but if you prefer neutral to yellow it may bother you. I’d say if you’re in that tone range, definitely try it out! Or go to a store to swatch, but if it matches you I think you’ll LOVE this. Packaging: no complaints! Tube keeps things hygienic. A fabulous tinted moisturizer. It works fine for light-medium or medium skin tones. If you are fair-porcelain or tan-deep this won’t work. The “self adjusting” colour is just a marketing thing.
